For RGB the color of bottom housing doesn't matter, only the color of the top housing, and it is transparent on both Jades and Whites
As for differences - Jades have closed bottom, so they have different sound

as well as some extra overhead depending on how they handle data, hard to say

well its definitely more than for you since they have to do a lot of internal back and forth, advertising to people that youre in a voice chat (dm calls would be lighter on this due to limited scope) and also having to keep ports open and such

its a lot of small things that just need to be kept in check at a scale of discord

the main thing is also that bandwidth costs money in general so no matter how little it takes up theyd want to reduce it as much as possible.

That's the thing, if I were to force a call to last, say a week, how much bandwidth on average would that use?

from just you still basically nothing

lets say 500k users doing it (not too many in discords scale tbh) it can be gigabytes in a double or triple digit range prob

the main issue really is just the pure scale of their network and how many users are active at any given time that makes it best to enforce disconnects after X minutes alone in a DM call
