if the battery life is god-tier, then I might consider
if battery is the main concern I would say lunar lake is probably the choice
no point dealing with WoA and translation or driver isssues of adreno for barely any benefit
yes its better and all but there isnt really an advantage
Strix just makes me think of asus

Apple part philosophy manages to make me angry once more. Tiny crack in the -glass- with an otherwise perfectly intact panel.
But of course the two are fused by Apple - even though there is literally no sensible reason for doing so. Hell the iPad doesn't even do that (or didn't at the time I repaired those)
Thanks to Baseus for sponsoring! Check out the new Spacemate 11 in 1 HUB at https://amzn.to/44ut1cU, and get 5% off with code SPACEMATE
The other day I found a 21.5 inch iMac discarded in the trash room in my apartment building, so I snatched it and today we're going to try to fix it up! Even though it might be old or broken, it's never a good ...
some testing with snapdragon tho idk if it’s reliable or not https://signal65.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/05/NewSurfaceLaptop2024_Signal65LabInsights.pdf
If my mouse clicks sometimes just don't click, does that mean it's dying or is there some dirty or something i need to clean?
It literally happens like once a month for like 5 minutes then its back to normal, driving me crazy.
can someone please do me a favor
real simple, if you have a 1440p non ultrawide monitor on windows 11 set to 100% scaling
just take a screenshot of your taskbar
appreciate it
Heres how it looks from my phone from me sitting at my normal spot, about a bit over an arms length in my case
sorry but I'll need a screenshot as I need to do pixel measurements of the taskbar height
will this work?
yes, thank you

is a GTX 1650 a good graphics card to switch to? i have a low end budget ibuypower pc that came with a GT 1030 and i can never record clips or run very high quality games. Im looking for good cheap graphics cards to buy and so far have high hopes for this one.
(ZOTAC Gaming GeForce GTX 1650 AMP CORE 4GB GDDR6 128-bit Gaming Graphics Card, Super Compact, ZT-T16520J-10L) btw
Whats your budget
about like 180$ to 200$ max
ive heard good reviews about 1650 and 1080ti
if you can get a 1080ti that wasnt ran through for that price, defo the better choice
but keep in mind, those cards are nearing the end of their lifespan, support is running out
wouldnt a 1650 be better than a 1080?
Rx 6600 if you want new otherwise second hand
You can also look around for 5700XT, should be in the same price range
Nooooo, 1080 is way better than 1650
1650 shouldn't even exist that card is trash
i tried looking for an 1080 but most i can find it 600-1000$
1660Ti/Super is less powerful than 1070Ti, let alone 1080/Ti
what would be my best option to buy for cheap?
very dependent on your local market
im looking at nivida and amazon right now
This should give you some indicator of whats better
check if you could get a used 3060 for around 200 bucks
i found one on amazon for 179.99 thats called "ASUS Dual NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB OC Edition Gaming Graphics Card - PCIe 4.0, 6GB GDDR6 Memory, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a, 2-Slot Design, Axial-tech Fan Design, 0dB Technology, Steel Bracket"
bad or nah?
3050 is around 1660Ti/Super or so
Maybe try looking around for an used one?
You can get way more bang for buck this way
a 3050 will be alright, but going used in this price bracket is defo the way
Hop on ebay or w/e equivalent you have
3060/ti 6600xt/6700xt are good candidates
Also if your PC came with a 1030 I don't think the psu is going to be able to handle any of these cards
6700xt should be the fastest on average, so if you can get one in your price bracket go ahead
8G of RAM
That's going to be a bit of an issue too
im not that big of a pc guy but if the ram is the stick things in the case i have 2 slots open for those
Already chilling at 90% doing nothin
Good thing is that 11400F is still great for mid-end gaming
Do you know how big your power supply is?
like measurements or in settings
Your PC ain't gonna tell you but it'll be written on the physical power supply or included in whatever receipt you got for it
yeah for gaming you will probably need to upgrade your ram alongside your gpu
but that should be reasonably cheap thankfully
i think they stop selling the type of pc i have cause i got this one about almost 3 years ago and i cant find any close besides this one
Get started on your gaming PC journey with the iBUYPOWER SlateMR 2150V2. This prebuilt utilizes expertly vetted components to create the perfect entry-level gaming desktop computer that supports your favorite videogames. The Intel Core i5 12400F processor and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 4GB graphics ...
3 years ago should be DDR4, so you're good
its a 600w psu if this is the model that you got
I would definitely double check though
it looks about the same but mine is GT 1030
my ram sticks read FORZA on them and some lttle black box next to my grapics card reads UD series
is AMD ryzen bad? i found a pc thats 800$ about the same as mine for 749$
but it comes with a AMD ryzen 7
depends, past 2 generations of amd's processors were really good
if this leads to the right one im looking at its this one
Level up your setup with the iBUYPOWER TMA7N3501, the perfect gaming PC build for someone looking to upgrade their computer system for art, editing, and gaming. This prebuild utilizes professionally vetted components to create a high-performing machine that lets you do everything from streaming, ...
I'd dig up the invoice and check it to be completely sure about the psu
besides the psu would that be considered a good upgrade?
id end up selling this old one after factory resetting it
if you want the best bang for the buck usually prebuilts arent the way
but if you value the convenience, sure
yeah i know that much. but i know building one takes alot of knowledge and money which i dont have either of.
for a pre built this one has taken me a long way even tho its semi-bad
well building one yourself would be cheaper, especially if you already have something to work on
I started off on prebuilts mainly because my dad didn't trust me building it myself and he helped me pay for my first PC
i know pre builts are looked down upon but i know some of these arent half bad
esp for first time gaming pc owners
oh no its not that they are looked down upon lol
there are perfectly fine reasons to pick one up, no shame
however if you want to squeeze the most out of it on a budget, prebuilts usually are not the way
id do a custom built but i dont really understand all the parts and building process so i just stuck to pre builts
it's like lego, just watch a youtube video
upgrading a prebuilt is a really good way to get into building
while building a pc isnt something thats completely basic, it also isnt rocket science
Rule of thumb is - if you have to use hammer, you're doing it wrong
Depends on what kind of prebuilt.
A lot of them are far too proprietary to be worth the effort.
i feel like an idiot when it comes to pc knowledge and building like earlier you asked about psu and literally had to look up what it meant
in this case IBUYPOWER
well yeah true that, but I was thinking more like swapping out a gpu or ram etc
also ibp doesnt have prop stuff, right?
how do i check ram size?
but hey you learned something, thats how you get into things ykno
cant expect to know everything right away
IBP uses off the shelf parts, so that's good.
fair point
I was mainly referring to HP and other big OEMs
HWInfo will tell you pretty much everything about your PC
alternatively you can also check it in task manager
found it
Yeah probably worth chucking another 8gb in
or better yet just get a 16gb kit and sell/trash this one
Or get a 32gig kit
It's so ugly... I love it so much
Does it have like a shine if you move it under a light source?
Or are those colors printed on
I think it does have holo background
Ok that makes it a lot better
I still think having the different color fans is ugly, just pick one and stick with it
But holo good
If Yeston would make 7900xt/xtx with their previous design, I'd get it in a heartbeat
That‘s pretty
whats the point of such cards? i just put my pc on the floor and never see it
they cost more and you don't get any benefit from it
Eh, they cost about the same as other ones
some fancy white 4090 costs 400€ more than a super generic one at local store
yes indeed
but yeah a lot of them are just flex for an average customer
Oh, an ROG brick
Looks cool too
I don't think I like it that much, would be much better without REPUBLIC OF GAMERS plastered everywhere
i got the cheapest 7900xtx i could find, asrock phantom gaming or something
performs the same as others
welll...
Yeah, it's the cheapest one of the bunch here too
at stock it probably does more or less
Not sure if I should go all in for 7900xtx or for 7800xt
The point is for a setup like this.
https://imgur.com/a/cyberduck-v3-49-however-many-revisions-were-QVTYZp7
I‘m waiting for next gpu gen, surely those are realistic price wise
If that's not for you, then a pretty GPU obviously has no value for you 😄
at this point, probably wait till next gen
RDNA4 will be that much better? I dunno, especially since right after release there won't be any deals for it
will it be? not sure, cant really tell
however prices of current gen will go down
so worst case scenario you will get a cheaper 7X00xt
also since you mentioned professional workloads, might be wise to consider nvidia
however I can recommend the 7900xtx from first hand experience, never had issues with it, runs good, ocs well etc
rather powerful too
I mean, as one would expect probably
Nvidia? Fuck no
7900xtx is 4000zł, 4080Super is 5k, 4090 is 8~9k
You can probably expect a decent jump in RT performance and a small bump in raster
Who cares about ray tracing though
you can get a 4080 super for 4300
and as much as I like amd, since I am primarily a gamer
cuda is pretty much noncontestable right now for prof workloads
obv there are edgecases
Nvidia
but yeah, most of the time nvidia will take the cake for gpu productivity
I don't use CUDA
I need lotsa CPU and RAM, I don't really care about GPU, should my brother's one wasn't dying I would stay by my 6700XT
what apps do you use?
For work? Mostly VMs, docker containers, kubernetes stuff
8GB or so? I could easily trigger OOM while on 32GB
Now I have 64 in my work laptop, I can more or less comfortably work on it
what os do you work on?
Arch mostly, that's my main OS, I do use Rocky and Fedora too sometimes
Even on the floor it can be beautiful
Wouldn't that be an overkill? I just want a PC for a bit of work and a bit of gaming
to a certain extent yea
but if you virtualize a lot might be worth considering
good to have headroom if you use it for work
Threadripper would mean quadruple the price, lower the gaming performance and remove upgrade paths which all doesn’t sound like it would fit for the bill for what the system is supposed to do
well, since this is for some time in the future, maybe a more suitable workstation platform will come out :)
If you look at how delayed they come out compared to desktop platforms, that would be end of next year at the earliest then
mayhaps
AMD really shafted those early threadripper adopters
dont buy things on future promises
i was not expecting a femboy in the wild
true that
the only future promise i buy things on is phone software update support
I like it already
All that’s left is to hope we get a way to install lpddr6 camm without screws in time for first desktop platform
we have different view on beautiful
Lower refresh rate thoo and I cancelled the 2nd monitor, it doesn’t work cause of different hz of screen, its the alienware aw3418dw 3k 120hz curved
The left one is 4k160hz
well, you could set the first one to 120hz and then it works
why does it look so poo though
Camera angle i guess
or if you set the secondary to 1/2 the main screens hz that could also work
I bought it for 160hz cause of 120hz, i was lagging in cs2 and needed higher refresh
unless cancelled means you dont have it anymore
Its in my room on top of my closet😂
ah well, if you want to try it again, having it on a multiplicative should also work so if its just secondary put it to 80hz with the 160hz screen
I will try, so but funny enough i had to downclock to 100hz cause if i set it on 120hz the monitor will get black screen
the other thing, as long as you dont have anything hardware accelerated on the other scrren mixing refresh rates is also fine
so if you just use it for discord for example turn off hardware accelleration and that should stop lags too
doesnt work if you watch streams or so on it of course
I use discord via browser but steam has it on default
yup, was annoying to have the steam friends list open on second screen and that alone caused frame drops lmao
So if i try again, i should have the alienware put my default monitor and 80hz?
doesnt matter which one is the default, as long as the game is on the 160hz screen and the other is set to 80hz then
Ah okay I get, i put the asus monitor on 1 anyway but the 80hz tip is great thanks
its not guaranteed to work because usually thats best if its a multiplicative of 60 so might still fail but thats something to test
If I tried it oneday I’ll let you know
Damn Eypc 4004 doesn't even get a dual x3D sku
Also no single ccd x3D either. Just got 7900x3d/7950x3d equivalents
Ryzen 5 5625U Vs i5-1135G7
Seems somewhat similar but each has benefits.
Any input? @ashen spindle
Ehh similar enough that I’d look at the rest of the laptop
Yeah it’s cezanne so zen3
2 year old soc
Basically close enough that I’d look at screen or battery size and stuff instead
Perfectly fine for emails
Lol a bit more than emails but sure
It'll.be used for uni pretty much
It's the better option id say
The Vivo one isn't the exact model but ye
@ashen spindle
Y'all think it's worth fixing my pixel 7a for £130?
No protector?
Correct
for 130 pounds I'd just buy a new phone
Ye part of me thinks this too as I'm also kinda sick of this phone.
Yeah honestly it’s so close that I’d just pick whatever of those laptops is found for cheaper
no
i shattered the glass on my phone and quickly learned to ignore it
sometimes i’m in awe of my ability to not give a shit
Unless they are doing fluid simulations or compiling a lot of code, should be fine
Pixel 8a just released
I don't want a pixel again
It cut me lol
get a protective casing for a few bucks and continue using it would be the cheapest if its still working
Btw these laptops will only cost like £60-80
Because it's via university disability scene (she has ms) :p
Ye I'm getting mum to bring them in tomorrow
Honestly if it was on the back could slap a vinyl sticker on it
Maybe slap a film on that
are u in the hospital 👀
3rd week
get well soon

ohhh finally
AMD has claimed leadership in the entry-level server space with the new AMD EPYC 4004 series. Intel needs to go do a re-do as AMD enters the market with EPYC processors that are based on an AMD Ryzen platform.
STH Main Site Article: https://www.servethehome.com/the-amd-epyc-4004-is-finally-here-and-intel-xeon-e-needs-an-overhaul/
STH Top 5 Week...
yea but how about xeon w 2400 competition 😦
youll get zen5 TR (maybe)(eventually)
tbh the competitor is probably gonna be halo
ehhhh
I guess halo in a sense is zen6 prototype so maybe
also the cheapest threadripper 7k is about on par with the most expensive w2400
actually the boards are cheaper than i remember
wooo explicit sync is here

Nice
Yeah I mentioned that
No 2 ccd x3D is major L
Having 3xd on half the cores is wild for a "server" part
took a couple of days of fine tuning / testing, but finally have a really stable undervolt on my 5900x, beat my oc cinebench scores with less power and running cooler!

try at your own risk
KDE users reported issues, according to this post it's fixed by appending NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0 to boot parameters
Hello, There seems to have been some changes in driver 555 which have resulted in the same issue as reported in my github for open source to also affect the proprietary driver now: EDIT: The solution was to add NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0 to the kernel load and all issues were fixed! P.S. Firstly, sorry for the ping but would like to thank to...
also it's a beta driver so expect some buggery
And then finally NV users no longer suffer from the https://megastutter.org ... if it all works, that is
first impressions: flawless !!
playing games on gnome with VRR on, no issue so far
If I have a mid end pc, would it be better to downgrade to windows 10??
no
okay ty !!
where should I look to find good amd adrenaline settings?? i tried the ones on youtube and some have made my performance worse
Don'tcha mean upgrade to Windows 10?
yeah!!
Even on my older pc my windows didn't lag this much
As for Adrenaline settings... Use defaults and enable Radeon optimizers stuff? Not sure what else there would be to change, most settings you'd change in games anyway
An absolutely massive windows 11 optimization guide to make your system snappy and maybe even gain some extra FPS. You have all been asking for it and here it is. No music so you can leave it on in the background and chapter markers so you can skip around to your hearts content!

Turning off a lot of unneeded services and settings can help with your windows 11
THANK YOU
Lil bit outdated, but a seperate video to disable copilot should be enough
windows 10 enterprise LTSC version comes with a lot less shit, it's basically the successor to windows 7 if you want to try a lightened windows OS
win11 LTSC version should release this year tho last I heard
If you're willing to reinstall that would be nice, there's also ntlite which stripes down the normal windows install
my pc feels way faster and it's not stuttering anymore
thank you!!
nice
anyone know how to order the PCR frost I can only see the PCR ghost
Can only get the frost by getting the module version of the 80he
oh thank you!!
yo guys how do i make it when i press a key like it lights up and when i release it it goes back
goddammit cant get this optical switch out of my keychron k3
my f3 key isnt working fully
ah these are not hotswappable
i am an idiot.. now its proper borked
a story in 4 lines
it says hotswappable online though
Anything is hot swappable, if you apply enough heat.
What do you MEAN that's not what HOT swappable means???
hmm, gonna hotswap some m series storage, just give me a moment
What optical switch needs solder?
yeah im also confused how its not hotswap
The Logitech keyboard
like are the IR LED/Photoresistor inside the switch?
because that would be the shit way to do optical switches
same for HE
Already 200 PPI. MicroLED could never...
I mean MicroLED is way higher than that. Just not that large
Way higher than what?
MicroLED is all low PPI because it's hard to scale down.
So this epic stuff will hit the consoomer market way sooner.
I'm talking about for monitors (and TVs).
Yeah they have 0.13 inch VGA
That's like 5000 ppi
I mean the only thing stopping MicroLED is cost
Matching and stitching panels is incredibly expensive
So it only makes sense on halo products
They could make a 4k monitor. But no one is paying 50 grand for a monitor
I don't expect we'll get high PPI MicroLED monitors this decade even.
(At a feasable cost)
QDEL all the way (for now).
Eh we have seen led drop by orders of magnitudes every few years
You know qdel is a type of led display right?
Yes? What about it?
It takes the same fab tech as microled
As it's just a quantum dot directly into a led instead of having a led+phosphor.
So it has all of the exact same manufacturing limitations as micro LED
You still have to fab the semiconductors in sections, then match and stitch them
Matching and stitching being the expensive part
Quantum dot is just a more efficient color conversion tech, it does not fundamentally change how a LED works or is manufactured.
But they say that QDEL is very cheap to produce.
Depends on scale
But a qdel is still good ole Nakamura GaN LEDs
All hail the mighty GaN blue LED
absolutely tf not lmao
https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-019-1771-5
and no it doesnt, even in perfect optimal conditions you still need some vacuum deposition and spin coating steps for classic leds, the quantum dots from the qdel can be batch manufactured and turning the dots into diodes can be done by inkjet printing them
I guess I never looked at the big ones
The micro qd led displays which are doing qd gan on silicon
maybe the tft is gan, but any gan qd display is not gonna be qdel, it would be microled panels with qd on top
Yeah that's what I was referring to
They now have direct on silicon dry qd printing for micro LED displays
that is an oxymoron
Which is also how they are making qd pumped lasers
if its a micro led display, its not direct on silicon qds
"qd pumped lasers"
i dont think you understand
there are 2 different techs
zappy the qd with electricity and get light
and
beam the qd with light and get different light
qdel cannot be the latter
qdel is only referring to the former
The terminology for them all is garbage is why it's confusing
The photo they posted says qd led
qd led is not light emitting quantum dots
now samsung has called their qdel qled because ew, but (not that ive seen) qd led
so yes samsung calls the real stuff qled, and lg calls lcds with qdef qled too
Yeah thats where I got confused the display that was posted is a MicroLED qd
And I just read a paper about how they have a dry process for doing MicroLED qd to get ultra high ppi
They print the qd then bond to the silicon
ion no
Dropping the qd into holes in the microled
?
oh i misread, i thought you were saying anything here is quantum dot microleds
No just that the actual text above the monitor is qd-led
yea but they clarify below
Which could refer to either
these are in fact quantum dot diodes
Yeah totally different tech
Not really been paying attention to large format
Small stuff is much more interesting
i want qd phone displays asap
meh, we have plenty of ppi already, we just need dramatically brighter
QD-LED is QDEL.
They haven't settled on naming apparently (unless QD-LED is final).
guys is this normal? and should i allow acces
are you the only user of your PC?
are you the admin user of your PC?
yes both
Which is why qd on GaN is the best
how is that even theoretically possible
very suspicious
How is what?
leds can only be so efficient, add in conversion requiring
1 your leds be higher wavelength to begin with (thus less stable)
2 you have another conversion process requiring more manufacturing steps
It's just green and red qd on blue gan led
but how about just spitting red green and blue qds on the tft directly?
I think it has to something with saving and there is an setting in windows security ransomware protection and if you enable controlled solder access
I’ve played it yesterday and i did alot of missions and it took all my 1 hour of progess without saving
it's weird that it specifically would be added though
maybe it's just because the documents folder itself is added by default
Same reason led is brighter then OLED. More heat tolerant so it can be driven harder. Aren't qd led printed on pmma still?
I’ve did many malware scans with different types of software, all 0
eh I'd just leave it then
you can print it on whatever tf you want, but its usually sio2 aka glass lol
Direct to glass?
you use whatever tft you want
So no binder or transition is needed?
pretty sure the quantum dots just rest mechanically on the tft
be it ltpo, igzo, or whatever else new abominations the world hath wrought
on qd microdisplays, the silicon would only be used for wiring, which you would probably just do via standard copper in silicon processes
I thought pedot on pmma was the hotness for OLED and qd
Still tft on glass isn't as thermally efficient as silicon
yea if you want to make flexible versions of x
who gaf, its 10 bajillion times cheaper
The game is saving now so i guess it worked and that was the issue
again tho you still arent doing gan, even if you use atomic silicon, you would be using it with emissive quantum dots, not gan leds then quantum conversion
just like radeon, but seems like people are actually buying it
nah unlike radeon it also outperforms

but better price/perf means they are not making as big as margins. thus stock goes mid
I mean its lower margin compared to one unit sales sure
they still have high margins like nvidia
yeah, baseline price with that tsmc allotment
Also at this point in the race market share / getting out there is more important than making higher profit margins.
somewhat yes
but having better price/performance is still possible wiht high margins
He will be back somewhere in the next two years

Very much true.
INVESTOR SCAM, the first buzzword system, uses AI and other buzzwords to scam investors, offering hope to those looking to make money.
the concept of transplants like that has been touchy in the international medical space
some italian dude got his university professorship cut after announcing he was planning on conducting one
and found a new one in China
his previous donor/subject backed out after finding a wife and settling down, so I recall he's still on the hunt for a donor
the procedure is so complex
said italian dude outlined that he'd need shitloads of people because it is really two surgeries conducted at the same time, and would need to painstakingly label the various nerves, vessels, etc as the heads are being removed
and then painstakingly reattach it all bit by bit
there's a couple missing parts to the surgery as it is, such as inability to reattach the spinal cord, etc
that italian dude also made a cameo in metal gear solid 5 as the cyprian doctor in the intro
either way
an AI system tacked onto something like the davinci operative machine could do a much better job and theoretically quicker than two massive surgical teams
but quick enough to not kill the brains even with hypothermia induced to buy time?
doubt it?
the time could maybe be bought
but how are you gonna attach a whole spinal cord and the blood vessels for the brain
that italian doctors apporach was basically to smear glue on it and hope it works
I'd wager that only in training an AI to direct a robot on millions+ of attempts at a simulation of the surgery could possibly get enough learning in to make the required precision a possibility
but most likely you'd be paralyzed with maybe some weird crosswired nerves
nanobot fluid
In related news, I read that something like 85% of the nerves detached from the NeuralLink implant
not surprising i assume with something so untested
also bodies dont really like that whole foreign body thing
I would like to live in the scifi world where this is possible but I'm not buying it
"Rejected by the body"
Gotta start somewhere I guess? Better them than me
that's what immune suppressors are for
mmh
Which is a pretty brutish way to avoid a problem by causing another problem, instead of solving the problem
The immune system is kinda important
then solve the problem by just constantly taking antibiotics
when drugs cause issues, use more drugs
What could possibly go wrong
we also don't talk about the opioid you've been prescribed as a painkiller
wont help for cancer no? 😛
eh underlying issue, aint got time for that
what
Can confirm
Fun fact, people who are on immunosuppressants can get tattoos that stay sharper and more vibrant for longer
i sense a market opportunity
and get cancer easier too :p
Not sure if doctors are recommending tattoos to those who are on immunosupressants tho
In fact, they particularly recommend against it...
clearly a conspiracy
Fun fact when you lose all your neutrophils you develop a condition called mucositis where all the bacteria normally in your mouth start attacking and ulcerating your digestive tract
Don't recommend
||Pp falls off||
got this really odd feeling my gpu is busted ever since i ran hashcat on it.... only getting this shit
Hi, after the firmware 2.8.0 i have a problem with my input of the w button - in games i run for a short time, then i stop, then i run again etc. i.e. the input is not pulled constantly
ram is good... i cant see a driver directly causing it...
ugh... i dont wanna get a new gpu just before all the new stuff drops
buy something super cheap 2nd hand?
thx
could just try a warranty claim?
inb4 asus gpu
ah lol
oh damn then a 6500xt would be an upgrade lol
i wanted to wait for the new cpus and gpus to drop and then build a new pc
oh is it the 2080 ti?
ye
well if you want nvidia again thats gonna be likely not this year
na i toyed with amd
depending on how their perf is this year ill go with them most likely
cpu will be amd as well this time
RDNA 4 lets gooooo
while i had a shit experience with bulldozer.... i had great amd experiences before and at work
athlon2 still ran the show over there on my main debug pc
lol bulldozer is where intel is at now
ironically the big changes in zen5 are a bulldozer repeat somewhat, just minus the bad parts
kek
seems like you'll want at least a 4080S or 7900XTX to get 2X a 2080ti
I only upgrade if I can get about 2X for around the same money
see the bad parts was that mc had microstuttering
I upgrade when I need to..
im not in for a 2x... this will be a need to at this point
Last time was because I was just under the minimum cpu requirements for battlefield 2
i aint gonna lug a 9700k into the next gpu era
imma try DDU just to be safe but i fear the GPU is toast thanks to hashcat
Uh.. The world war 1 battlefield
im not a US burger
tool for bruteforcing/cracking password hashes
AI GUYS
AI READY STICKERS
SMACK THAT SHIT EVERYWHEREEEE
LIKE VR READY STICKERS IN 2014
EVERYONE GETS A STICKER
Mines still going strong, but yes upgrade next gen of gpu/cpu
last 2 things to try rn are sfc/dism and DDU clean install

on the topic of new gpu/cpu have we seen anything yet or heard anything yet
2 weeks till computex
zen5 pretty much guaranteed to be there, rdna4 likely mentioned at least, intel confirmed arl is Q4
crashes happening more often now
oof
could get something temporary and sell the ti on ebay then upgrade later
it'll hold you over
assuming you don't have an iGPU, no?
also good to know that crashing causes ffxiv dungeon cutscenes to skip
id still like to play games at my full screen res
so igpu is a no
debil... i have a 32:9 monitor
720p on 32:9 is truly peak gaming
ill finish the ffxiv dungeon real quick and then do DDU
the only one coming to mind is the weird 5 finger mouse
Ergonomic joystick gaming keypad with fully adjustable towers that fits perfectly to your hand. Joystick for 360 movement, 26 programmable buttons, easy to use Azeron software.
this one
damn
good? bad?
about what the market expected
yeah
the were down last quarter
but recover to about the quarter before that
just mean AI is not a 1 year fad
but a multi-year fad

what about this
https://amz.run/9E0s
tbf thats still a razer
G13 is the king
Logitech dosent care about good products anymore
Just like Razer and corsiar
Their software is horrible bloat
I remember when I had a g13, g9x and g19
Well I mean I still own them all
But when I used them
holy shit viper v3 pro absolutely nailed competition in performance
at least according to rtings tests
What does?
Discord changed the mobile UI so Dm's are back in the place it was before

You have an Amazon update.
I'm still rocking an ancient version of discord because I refuse change.
Fair enough muscle memory gonna be wrecked now for me
Downgrade
Maybe later when I unlock the bootloader
I get that part but if I did downgrade then after I unlock the bootloader, basically a waste of time as it wipes all data
Eh I'm on about the app
Alright generally sure I agree
This has happened like 5 times in the last 2 months
Why can't they just make up their mind
Maybe cuz they are hot when they are cold, yes when they are no, in when they are out
@pale sigil
THIS LOOKS STRANGELY LIKE A PAW
WHAT ARE YOU SOME FUCKING FURRY 😡😡😡😡
e x p o s e d
wait how do you put servers in folders
just drag em on top of each other
?
oh lol, just never tried
why is the message tab gone 😭
That wolf is a destiny 2 server/group chat from what I remember
lies! Cover up!
Wooting 60he+ on the way, looking at mice to go with it. Sora v2 or op1 8k, some advice would be appreciated!

and that source is reddit
looked up second hand prices for my GPU just in case its actually dead and the DDU clean driver install doesnt fix it....
400eur
for roughly 2x i could get a 7900xtx

I am praying 5000 series won't be crazy, and that plenty of waterblocks are made for it. So tired of being "stuck" with a 3080 😄
what GPU do you have
ik a german guy that fixes Nvidia ones
zotac 2080ti amp
idk if its actually broke yet though
the BSOD while pointing to the nvidia driver could be driver or hardware at this point
yeah i mean it could be that hashcat is a coincidence and i somehow had a (to me unknown) OC on my CPU and this is causing it
just odd that it was rock solid and never had a bsod (except some i cause myself with homemade drivers) besides this one that happened when i loaded the GPU with hashcat

I just remembered that I no longer remember the XP key Is used back in the day.
Used it so often to install Pro on school machines, that I could recite the whole thing by heart

There were a series of accusations about our company last August from a former employee. Immediately following these accusations, LMG hired Roper Greyell - a large Vancouver-based law firm specializing in labor and employment law, to conduct a third-party investigation. Their
All boils down to "The investigator said we did everything right on our end"
At this time, we feel our case for a defamation suit would be very strong
Does this address any of the concerns GN raised or only the ones the former employee had brought up.
the concerns gn raised were addressed last year and have not come up since
Ah okay 👍
at least not in bigger media
this is about the stuff that madison brought up, which may or may not be true, who knows really
i dont think it was the right play to address it publicly like this, since it gives them a bad look regardless imo
i havent seen those
the chassis material is the same as on most keyboards (it is ABS)
and they same it is good price to performance for a 50 dollar membrane
but yeah, publicly posting about these allegations on twitter just seems petty for me
that and not in a big ass tweet but instead just have a link and say "here's what was found" and leave it there
^^^ maybe just of posted the actual report and left it at that. If LMG wanted to take litigious action then they shouldn’t explicitly vocalize it.
that part is especially weird to me
could have just left it at "there was an investigation that found no issue"
and not say anything about a lawsuit cause that just looks really bad
I mean they did find an issue
just one that already was resolved back then
also was a minor one
it should be an expected one
defamation is illegal
i hope that the employee doesnt get any harrassment from this, since i remember they already had to deal with when the allegations came out, and they might have been legitimate concerns that they felt were correct
I've seen enough vindictive people in my time to know sometimes the person is just a real piece of work
yeah but that doesnt mean they should be harrassed and all that
do we even know who the employee is? I've never seen them named not like I would bother looking it up
ye it is known
obviously they dont name them in their statements as to not bring people to them or cause any harrassment
but yes if you want to know who it is i can just tell you
na, i just wanted to know if it was known
it is public information, just that they will not name the person
Facebook's pushing AI, so they sent a "do you object to us using your stuff for ai learning" and you had to give a reason.
Oddly enough no one at Meta thought that "fuck you" would be something people would say and to filter that...so
lets take everything AI says and put back into it again
Habsburg AI theory?
Doesn't address the leaked audio of a meeting of people making literal crude sexual jokes
While dealing with this situation
Yes
ASUS ROG Ally X confirmed with 24GB memory and doubled battery capacity We have an exclusive first look at ROG Ally X specs. No more rumors; the official specs of the ROG Ally X are here. The updated design will feature the same Ryzen Z1 Extreme APU, with 8 Zen4 cores and 12 RDNA3 Compute […]
literally doubled the battery lol
678g is not that bad honestly, still not in "break nose when dropped on face in bed" territory
Oh, and 2280 SSD
second usbc port added too
Imagine how many hours of Balatro you can squeeze out of this guy on 1W with 80Wh battery
duckduckstop
I wonder how much will it cost for €799+
I could definitely see it for 3899zł around here
thought it was just me
i like that they added links to the !bang commands 😄
Seems weird to need to screw it in on so many points.
It needs a clip system ala CPUs
how is that more space efficient than current dimms
Mmm... I spose one doesn't exclude the other. Can use pressure widgets like on CPU, even if the RAM comes with screw ones.
Heightwise I guess? Makes some coolers a lot easier to install.
the jedec pdf I linked yesterday talked about it how they havent solved the no screw issues yet
true, but also looks worse for heat dissipation of the ram chips
There were a series of accusations about our company last August from a former employee. Immediately following these accusations, LMG hired Roper Greyell - a large Vancouver-based law firm specializing in labor and employment law, to conduct a third-party investigation. Their

yeah was posted further up already
also this in regards to screws
I missed it 😄
Kind of makes me want to see LPDDR5 CAMM2 be what's used for both. Let the controller stick out a bit and just use those instead as two stacks on Desktop 😄
Mirrored away from each other like a diamond shape.
yes lpddr is what we get in the future
this is just because ddr5 is currently used anyway so they dont need to change traces or anything and can use OEM designs
but the future will be LPDDR6 CAMM2 for desktops
idk if we get lpddr5, probably not
Neat.
assuming zen6 comes to AM5 we should see the lpddr6 version of this starting with zen7 then
Yeah most motherboards are vertical meaning this would put ram flat with out good convection
Current dimms are excellent for convection
yeah figured there'd be a pretty good reason for them to be mounted like that, especially these days where everything runs hotter than ever
hot ram is fine and if you dont have module one blocking module 2 you now get airflow over the entire thing so thats not an issue
after all this comes from laptops where you have even less airflow
Laptops that already used flat mounted sodimms
yes?
So they are no different for cooling in laptops
These are double sided just like a sodimm
yeah im saying it already works there so on desktop it also wont make any changes
On desktop sff stuff that uses sodimms for space, they can be mounted vertical
Camm cannot be mounted vertical
Also it's not feasible to mount 2 camm for the equivalent of 4 dimms
Seems like it's a complete downgrade for desktops
ddr5 camm is not double sided btw just lpddr camm
you have dual channel in one module and you can have better signal integrity thus higher density in the end
there is like no downside for desktops
some more area used maybe but that's negligible
Cammv2 has spec for both
It's not higher density as it uses the exact same chips
The only higher density is for lpddr5 single sided
Which is only marginally smaller than lpddr5 sodimms
you will get higher density on future modules because of better signal integrity, what you get on a ddr5 camm right now doesnt matter really thats just a transitonary thing
You think they will make special chips for just these modules vs the standard ones every other dimm uses?
what do you mean every other dimm
ddr6 in dimms like we have them now is not coming to desktop/laptop
its all going to be lpddr6 camm2
Lol
and servers want more and more mcr dimms for much much more ram so it's going to be different there too
So ddr6 going to skip servers?
You're crazy if you think desktop will not get ddr6 dimm
whats the benefit desktop would have using ddr6 over lp6
you get higher speeds with better signal integrity and camm modules have the advantage there
Lpddr6 isn't going to much faster than high end ddr5
Lpddr6 is only targeting 14000 mt
the slides in the pdf here are pretty self explanatory of why lpcamm on desktop would be the prefered solution
it explicity shows the 2DPC issues it solves for desktops
That's all vs sodimms not dimms
?
wait but isnt that the same as just having 2 dimm slots? or is the cam module extendible
im really confused as to what problem it solves
could be extended or could be a second slot and since its seperate lines it doesnt creat stubs on active connections if only one is used
what it mostly solves is issues with signal stability
I can see evga use this on their next high end board
Shame they haven't done any am5 yet
Honestly don't know what evga is doing any more
Seems to just be coasting on PSU
I hope they aren’t going under
Wish they would do AMD stuff but they seem to really like intel
its almost like intel provided support, and noone bought their amd boards
its an insanely low margin market and till recently there was no amd high end so hard for them to enter there now with limited resources
They should re-enter the case market. Their design language is pretty unique.
Maybe something in the $100 range
Instead of the expensive concept case kits they were selling
i love all the typos
also #🐸│memes
and it still crashes
gpu most likely rekt
so to order a second hand gpu and hope to get rid of it for the same amount OR to order a new top of the line gpu from amd/nvidia
although i might first try with my GFs old gpu
rx 570 8gb version....
thatll be a downgrade in performance
are you getting errors in a gpu testing program?
if you have nvidia, you can run nvidia smi to see if nvidia is correcting a bunch of errors already
also hashcat probably fried the memory, but the error correction is pretty strong, even if it cant maintain stock clocks, droppiing 200 or 500 mhz on the memory might keep the gpu working
no clue where nvidia smi is on windows
welp looks ok
also would be odd if mem causes a video TDR issue
the bsod is specifically VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE
tried inspecting the dumps yesterday going through the stack available but nothing out of the ordinary
oh no... new bsod now... same symptoms. now its thread exceptions inside nvlddmkm
might run furmark tomorrow while at work
see if i can provoke the crash and the swap GPUs and see if its gone
try occt with error checking
occt gpu memory and if that doesnt show errors directly, do occt memory (non gpu)
It's all related
Adjust your TDR delay
Hopefully it helps make the card usable again
Enough at least
i dont see why all of the sudden the delay of 10 seconds isnt enough
pc has also been stable since that crash
@wheat plume I've become like you
I'm alive
Discord support, useless, but I got a random message that they detected suspicious activity.
do u want
I guess moving back to my main now, neoqlum can rest in peace.
oh sweet you got your account back
Manifest V3 starts next month, what browsers are you guys on/migrating to?
Firefox, always has been.
arc / brave for chromium
Currently Brave, in a few months maybe Arc
Arc looks nice
floorp seems decent
arc on macos is prime, on windows its not yet ready in my opinion
iirc ublock continues to work on v3? I'll see what happens
They will add it in the future, but there is a about: page for it and you can just launch firefox with -p
for the profile manager
mullvad browser seems good if you're super paranoid
Ooff
Rookie numbers
old message but you ever check cex?
Yes
They are overpriced as hell and barely give you anything for selling to them
Be like that, the resale value of apple stuff is always high
i have a question
polling, scanning and response times are all different I suppose
how is the response time on the 80HE, it's not 0.125ms that can't be right? I know that True 8k means that polling = scanning = 8k
Response time usually means until it’s registered so depends on what the pc/game does
So it could be 0.125ms on average
this likely isnt an independent repair shop
Independent as in they do not operate under Samsung, but in order to get parts they need to sign this unfair contract
I once went to an official Samsung repair store back in 2018 or something, for my Note8, it had some liquid inside my camera lens and it annoyed me so i got repaired free of charge cause i never opened it, so after the repair was done it was just like opening it up and cleaning the lens and re applying adhesive and putting the backplate on and boom ez pz but noo Samsung forced me to completely reset my phone and I’m like why? It doesn’t make any sense to reset my phone since nothing is changed with my hardware or software…. And I soft modded my note8 with soft root mods and nova launcher and I didn’t wanna re do them all ugh and all my pictures and data, i was so mad
I don't like where PC industry is going
Why RAM with RGB is cheaper than one without?
volume
i miss the plain green sticks
Shuck them out
set brightness to 0
Call it a day
Additional software... for RAM sticks...
Hell naw
Just need to do it once typically.
it's like they made these sticks just for you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOaYzuArpgk
The luxury overclock performance DDR5 memory you've been waiting for.

Yes! This! But exact opposite of this
Indeed. Or just make software that actually does the control you expect.
My XPG ram's app won't let me change individual LEDs. But if I use G.Skill's app to control them, I can do it just fine
Oh, Artemis seems to support iCue
Nevermind
idk if i've ever seen a teaser trailer for ram sticks before
Yeah, imma just pay €10 more for non-RGB version, seems like an easier solution
I wanna reuse my current case
And get some small ITX one for the parts I replace
1000zł
Yeah, I'll stay by my old one...
selling ye
i did get a deal on a xbox controller though
I just store none RGB on the on board memory then uninstall icue xd
iPads are pretty good to buy from cex tbh
Yeah, I'll have an issue even with installing iCue
Synapse is fine if you just need to change settings and then never open it again
G hub is a buggy mess
I'd uninstall iCue in an instant, if it wasn't the central core of keeping my PC cooled 😄
I rely on it for temp sensors and pump control - as well as fans of course.
Downsides of custom watercooling. 😄
also I cannot find out how to turn off rgb on the one logitech mouse I own
which is a shitty g705
There's no direct CPU cooler. It's all based off of component and liquid temps.

like I tried both ghub and omm
and it used to work
but now it just turns blue/pink after a random time
IDK why people say this
Personally never had a problem
then I can press the dpi/profile button (even though I only have one setting) and then it turns white and then off again
it LOVES to break
which can brick your stuff
you can't cleanly uninstall it
I have a big block which barely fits in the case
doing basic things like removing a dpi step is a puzzle in it's own
iCue also isn't super stable. I have to manually hard crash it in task manager once a month or so, where it just doesn't do shit all until fully restarted.
Yeah it's shit just save config to hardware then nuke ghub
I just wish it had a more easier way to backup profiles
just use omm if you have the option
(and then hope it actually works)
oh also saving on a device with ghub is a mystery to me
last time I tried doing that I just gave up
I use program detection too much but I did export to on board in case
like you "just" toggle a setting to do that
But it's so easy lol
but it never actually applied for me
Oh yeah no idea how it is now I've been rocking the same config for yonks and if I do need to change I do it on the Linux side where I get to use piper
yea ghub is so popular that people say to just use omm if oyu have the chance
simple trick, don't buy anything else from logitech
Yeah it's easy
I prefer it over a lot of software
It ain't perfect though
like with synapse stuff at least works as expected
(I also unironically like roccat swarm
)
even though it clearly has a lot of afterthought features
too bad there is like 2 worthwhile modern mice that use it
neither of which is sold as roccat in the west
Nah we gotta have bloated softwares always running in the background it's what the people want
true
I mean I would be fine with a CLI tool
plenty of mouse options?
the ULX and uhh, the ploopy mouse?
wait no don't think the ploopy mouse actually does web stuff
Razer's peripherals are suprisingly well supported on Linux through OpenRazer+RazerGenie
G wolves, Ninjutso, Sprime and VGN have web based software also with Pulsar and Lamzu working on it
Also Vaxee, Zowie and Xtrfy have no software at all being all built into the mouse
You listed 7 brands and ive only heard of 2 of those
Aite, that's sounds okayish as for today https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Calslock/saved/JJMdFT
I wonder how much Ryzens 9xxx will cost right after release though, and Computex' soon
Hello I don't know what the best place is to talk about that problem
Since the last update my wooting 60HE got some massiv problems with reaction delay and RGB
thx
ram you can go quite a bit cheaper and psu a cheaper one with platinum rating but as a rough start that first
prices... well lets hope for the best
I guess I'll pick them last minute anyway, something that will match best and won't be too expensive
Pretty sure about GPU and mobo though
what are you running you need a 10gb lan card for
Slowly but surely upgrading home network to 10Gbit one
Oh yeah I guess there is a low chance we get more boards and maybe 10gig on board that doesn’t start at 400 but wouldn’t bet on that
It’s not for isp connections it’s for home network in cals case
Hey I have question about https://wootility.io/ and connectic with keyboards ? I dont see how can be connected
I can post this question here ?
Sure, it uses WebUSB API to connect to keyboard, so you need a Chromium-based browser in this case
So with Safari for exemple its didnt work or just Fox ?
Needs to be Chromium based.
So Chrome, Edge, Brave and such.
It won't work with Safari because... Apple, and it won't with Firefox because Mozilla doesn't want to add WebUSB support
Yep and do u expend that to other ? based ?
We do explain it on the website.
Oh sorry I didnt see it
https://wooting.io/wootility
There's also an app you can use if you don't have a compatible browser.
And on ur website I didnt see, have u some datasheet or what ever like that ? I see u have some git for opensource
Not sure what you're asking exactly - The browsers supported will not change. We rely on WebUSB which not all browsers want to suppoirt.
Okay thank !
Sorry my eng is not really good
My question is about ur keyboard. I didnt see datasheet about what component u use ?
what information you need
The processor what used in ?
F425
there we go
So actually they used gd32f303, is it right ? So what is F425 ?
bro
yep ?
GD32F303 for everything else but the 80HE, it has GD32F425
Oh right x) I dont understand sorry
