oh thanks! I'll post my question there
can someone recommend a few pages where i can look up for keycaps?
are you na or eu or somewhere else?

Hello, sorry to disturb but can we talk about headsets here or is it a forbiden topic ?
anything tech works
Except IEMs. Not... not since the incident.
my butt still hurts
that was really not cash money of you
Like mmx200 and adaze

Oh okay. Hoping someone can help me
Do anyone have a great headset that stay great throught the years ? I've had my steelseries for like 1 or 2 years and sometimes it randomly begin to have a robotic sound so I would prefer to change if someone could help me please
Oooooh I will !!! Thank you !!
i have a mmx300 rn and I'm happy so far with it. My audiphile homie recommended it and has been using his for years
I dont know too much about audio stuff but it's good at least for me
🤷♂️
I will see thank you very much !!
I LOVE being drilled by the Etymotics
is there a general consensus on the most comfortable IEM atm?

generic iems can never be comfortable, only minimally uncomfortable for as many people as possible
I'd agree to that, had a pair of KZ which started to hurt after a while but have had better luck with TWS though
finally caved and bought a gpx2, tried 4k and it's barely noticeable. Gunna use it with maximized battery life
my ears have probably stopped growing and changing significantly now, maybe I'll try some
get some custom earplugs just to see how you like the feel of filling your ear
I definitely need to get aftermakret mouse feet for this, jeez these feel bad

Gameball mouse for the elite gamers
okay i had to google what the "gameball mouse" was and wtf is this thing?
oh, never mind alright this thing looks normal in this picture.
I might need to try out the Elecom EX-G pro. from what I'm reading, people think it's a good trackball for gaming
yo what the f is that

Gpx battery is wild
Wonder how long beastx mini battery lasts
My lamzus don't last long even on 1khz
About a week or two depending on how often I play
Week or two is pretty good 🤷♂️
My gpx would last a month if not more
Playing a lot
If you wanted it would be pretty easy to swap a 450mah battery and almost double your battery life and still be under the weight of a gpx
Yeah but 35g sounds insane
I already live with mid battery life Ill be fine
i havent had to charge my gpx in 3 years 😛
I haven't had to charge my wireless keyboard for 3 years either
Because it's always plugged in
Well that was quite a satisfying session
guys i need help. i want to buy a new monitor specifically a benq zowie xl2546k 240hz ( $400) or xl2556x 360hz ( $600) .also am i able to reach stable 360fps in games (valorant, ow) with a 3060 and i7 10700 if the 360hz is the most worth choice

What kind of klingon language are you using rn
the one on that ai image
probably rendered on nvidia too
99% chance it was
What a weird shape. The Classic is much taller
i really like nvidiiiaaa
nvidia products are gr8 but their quasi monopoly sux
dw intel is going to get them
incel on the rise
they have the insane presentation part down
honestly nvidia still innovates a lot for being in their position
if AMD was in their place graphics technology would be 10 years late
Man some of these leak sites report only on the most stupid leaks as if they don’t even think about it lol
I mean, hardware technology wise they are the same or even ahead in DC and if NVIDIA wouldn’t have had the cuda monopoly all those software hours into rocm would mean we would be just fine in the same spot
I mean nvidia came up with ray tracing, reflex, DLSS, frame generation
Reflex came after amd had some smaller low input cutting software in drive and then NVIDIA worked on it
^ Amd started it first
RT was not invented by NVIDIA that’s decades old technology
They just had the first hardware to accelerate it for real time graph
And then pushed on software side for it
of course RT was not invented by nvidia, they had the idea to put it into consumer gpu's for real-time
Nvidia just went proprietary first just like they do on all their shit like ulmb or what was it called that hardware module in monitor
AMD was first there too
Frame gen is also something amd had years ago for video frame generation this is just putting it into real time gaming
Wasn't real time RT done in like late 90s or early 2000s on radeon cards or some shit in some very specific tests
Or was it voodoo cards actually
And the idea didn’t came from NVIDIA that was a plan decades ago already just the hardware couldn’t do it yet
But looks like NVIDIA marketing is spot on
everyone thinks they're the first just like WoW is the 1st mmorpg
of course Nvidia didn't invent the universe mane, they put it into their consumer products
Yeah so they were first to market with hardware for it but it’s not like nobody else thought of it lol
my point is, AMD would not have thought of putting these things into consumer GPUs I THINK
wrong point
since that universe doesn't exist this is of course speculation
But they already did think of it
They just kinda didn’t have money because remember they almost went bankrupt?
That limits what you can do
Shouldn't have sold GloFo
AMD was first to many things but they chose different path: Proprietary vs open source
Im sure theyve seen the error of their ways now
Selling GloFo saved them and was correct
You can expect more proprietary shit in future
A foundry service would have been a good thing long term
Nah that open source is saving them ok data center right now
Lol no
doubt it, linux is a huge share of their market rn
Not technically.
Yeah II but in terms of actually using it as gpus, not enough time for this many topics to be super specific :p
Intel showed it off first
Yeah that’s why intel is struggling and doing the open foundry now
In like 2010
and yet you critisize super specific points
Fair enough
Groundbreaking early ray-traced computer animation, created by Turner Whitted at Bell Labs in the late 1970's.
Real time raytracing has been done way before RTX was a thing anyways
Phi was demoed early on doing real time rt
Also im not saying AMD would 100% been better for us if NVIDIA wasn’t a thing hell no. But I don’t think there is anything NVIDIA did that amd without being at 5$ per share would not have done
I think that with AMD we'd just have gotten the same GPUs but faster each time, nvidia does interesting shit with their hardware
Really? I think reusing hardware for datacenter and finding a way to sell them as raytracing so you can keep the same uArch seems less interesting than chiplet gpus and such
I think we already refuted that point atleast 4 times
Btw, quin, did GloFo develop the 7nm node yet?
name 4
I remember back in the day GloFo and 7nm was like the story of the month, how much they couldn't into 7nm
Don’t think glofo will ever do 7nm
What's the point of them doing 7nm anyways
Their foundries are 200nm and 300nm
Can those fabs even do 12nm?
12nm++++++ and done
just make bigger processors and you can stay on 12, EZ
That sounds dumb
we should go back to room-sized computers
who woulda thunk that pushing those wattages through a small connector was sussy
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_pBFG26oXJY like this is the old and fluid video stuff
7 years ago or so
Obviously not as good as frame gen now but they had it as a product way before NVIDIA
that we could not use in games
Well yeah but if we argue theoreticals it’s not like they had no reason to think about it before or that there was no possible chance in an alternate universe without NVIDIA that this would not have been on idk rdna1 with working hardware
in a monopoly they don't need to bother and I think they wouldn't have
AMD imo has done more useful innovation than Nvidia has
Assume it’s roles switched rather than no Nvidia then
both
Stuff would be different sure but I don’t see us being 10years behind from that
well I do, so here we are
I will prolly install win 8 after win10 expires

Yeah t'was a good video
I wonder if the tech now after this will ever get utilized again
it is the technically superior keying tech
i also wonder why disney used weird custom prisms instead of how they did it with the filters at each output of the prism

shocking how good they were once
i bet AI will replace sodium vapor at some point if theyd take enough footage of it and the raws and feed it into an AI model
and then blue/greenscreen have the same results or close to it
Looking to buy another pair of Porta Pros, they come in green? lmao
and they are on sale too
Ooh it's limited to different retailers in Czech
Never really liked on-ear headphones 😅
Unbeatable comfort for me, I have problems with IEMs or earbuds in general.. :/
I see
I had a few pairs of those decades ago
i love there videos they are not that good at cgi but they know what they are talking about
i think they are good at cgi but often dont have all the time in the world to make the best cgi possible for some yt clicks
Love these headphones but hate the noise leak
i made it in 25 minutes it was challenge at my work
and it was winter get a free coffee
thats not cgi
in the sense that they use it
not to mention your image (even if you crop it) looks literally just like a game and not real
is not all lights have u see have fire and smoke on them
make only one of building in 25 minutes then come talk about cgi
It's not CGI because it's an environment I think he's saying.
Unreal engine uses a virtual camera
Or something idk
i mean ill highly doubt you modelled all of those assets in 25minutes
TBF every single model will look like a game untill you properly render it with path tracing
finally a smart one
all movies are using unreal engine
I wouldn't say ALL movies, but UE is used in movie CGI
heck id even take a percentage
yep
cause i am almost certain its a minimal percentage
fam plz don’t talk with knowing anything plz fam
also wanna see that 25minute video of you modelling all of those. since you claimed i cant model even 1 of those houses in 25minutes i assume you modelled everything in the scene in 25minutes and then made textures for them
u cant u don’t have talent u will never have it
i can
oh thats easy in 25 minutes
get some ai generated mesh and put fog around it in unreal
Mandalorian (quite a decently sized TV series) uses UE for example
nono mans talked about modelled not ai generated
ai meshes dose it exist
but yeah unreal and unity are used quite a lot in films these days
didnt they use volumetric sets and just some light vfx
aka most of the things are happening in camera and real set pieces
did you typo
What do you think a volumetric set is? It's literally a green screen with different depths
Content has to be generated somewhere to go onto that greenscreen
disney it’s adding splash engine to unreal to make all there movies and animation inside unreal
a volumetric set isnt green though you should literally see the background on the walls
what walls u neeed to use big screen not projectors to show it in walls
It's a metaphor, it's a display, it acts just like a green screen
You need content
to put into the display
lol
otherwise it's a black wall, yes?
you should learn how to hold a conversation and not be rude first
Do you know what a metaphor is?
Okay, when I say "it's a metaphor, it's LIKE they're greenscreens" do you understand that?
The point is you need CONTENT for them
yes but that is like almost nothing compared to whats still actual set pieces
whether it's a proper green screen or a display spanning the entire wall
or more traditional cgi
im not talking about to him anymore talking to him its same like saying to my father that earth its not flat
Can you rephrase that? I didn't get it
can i be a pro now?
you know if you think someone is wrong it usually helps if you say more than just "you are wrong"
as in they dont use greenscreens or bluescreens but volumetric sets so they dont have 200hrs of chroma key work on 1 scene
the dude reading in reddit and eating click bait in youtube
Yes for sure but the content needed is the exact same
It being a display instead of being a green screen doesn't change what you make to display in it
Obviously it has BIG pros
im not even sure if you could chroma key in unity/unreal
thats usually something vfx software would do
or dedicated keying hardware
pot kettle black?
You don't chroma key in unreal, you create the content in Unreal and chroma key it in video production
But you can also do camera tracking in Unreal for example
u don’t need to chrome key anything
this was if it was a greenscreen not volumetric
im aware but i was more relating it to if you dont shoot on a volumetric set
at that point its prob easier to just stay in blender where you make the (most likely) highly custom models and then just work that into whatever vfx/video software is used
wait u are saying that it’s fake 😂😂😂😂 same dude that leaked 4090 specs 1 years before
The same would apply, you don't actually chroma in unreal, you create content in unreal and then with your movie editing software suite of choice you impose the UE content INTO the green scren
how long are you watching his fake leaks lol
mlid has like less than 50% accuracy so he just guesses
and what im saying is they wouldnt create the content in unreal at that point as they can then just stay in modelling software and never touch unreal
well see u in november wen 4090 and 4080 get shown in public
wait I already have a 4090, am I nvidia??
i can see why unreal would be used for volumetric sets to have quick capabilities of modifying a scene by basically anyone
That is the case only if your scenery is completely static 3d models, which would make a very boring and shit set lol
but it just doesnt make sense to me to make models in blender or such... export them to unreal and then composite when you could build the cg scene in the modelling software as well
There will almost always be a physics and rendering engine inbetween, won't necessarly be Unreal, but it will be there
and blender etc can easily animate as well as unity/unreal
They can't
what ofc they can
There's a reason physics engines exist dude
you talking about unreal its like me talking for how to make a keyboard
Blender allows you to do very basic animations and rigging, that's not a substitute for a proper engine
they have all youd need to animate physics
including gravity
so idk how blender is "just basic" animation and rigging
blender doesn’t do it in real time like unreal engine dose we can use vdbs in unreal real time render 60+ fps
ok but what we are currently talking about is a greenscreened recording and then compositing after the fact
you dont need realtime renders at that point
youd have all the time in the world to just composite the cgi, render it out and then do any masking/key etc
as i also already said i can see why youd use it for the volumetric background as it allows for quicker eidting
or changes in general
@fair gull im done with you bye u don’t know anything u are just japing
bock u are 🚩🚩🚩🚩
wise decision to block mods. cant imagine how that can lead to any issues in the future
There's a lot of knowledge to be had to understand the difference between basic animation and in-depth VFX artistry, but in general, think of it this way:
If Blender was a solid enough solution, why do products like Houdini exist?
Houdini is the de-facto movie production physics simulation and VFX engine, you have 100% seen a movie that has used Hudini in its production
This is not a proper answer
but yeah just my 2 cents of having worked with unity, unreal, blender, after effect, premiere and vegas that i see no point in using unreal when the shoot is done and youre in pure ideo editing land
isnt houdini like procedural 3d
But having a proper answer is very hard in this context, VFX is in itself a very deep subject, there's literally VFX unis
i dabbled in it once but found no personal use for it
fam dont waste your time on him must be high or something wrong with his life
It does prodecural 3d, just like it does fire and smoke simulation, liquid simulation, physics simulation etc etc
It's a very efficient VFX and Physics engine
I agree that Tonys own experience is a bit outdated on how its used in the industry but if you just reply with "youre wrong I know better" you aren't making a good point
like from my quick dabble all that it did different to blender/maya is well 3d models being able to procedurally generate better
id also highly recommend not insulting people directly or claiming "there's something wrong with their life" over a simple debate. just warning you preemptively
Have you ever seen the behind the scenes by Houdini for Frozen 2?
nope
fuck I sent it timestamped
In Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee’s Frozen 2, we return to the world of Arendelle with Elsa and Anna, and we venture further into new places, such as the Enchanted Forest. These new adventures required new approaches to effects for Walt Disney Animation Studios. Here, the team behind the work break down their various challenges on the film.
.
This ...
Can you do all of those things with 60 plugins on blender and a lot more work? Probably so
Would any serious industry in film approve of that? Never
Unreal Engine is the middle ground
i mean what they did in houdini basically is exactly what i feel makes sense postprod or fully animated
but yes for how detailed those simulations themselves are it might be easier to do in houdini idk if those are custom plugins or not
i love houdini learning it made me motivation to not end my life when i was 17
GCI is just easier most of the time
It's pretty cool how Disney use unreal engine for the mandorian etc
have u seen houdini engine that works with unreal its so cool
I haven't, I've been very busy with finding a job LOL
i hope u find a job
Thanks! I probably already did, I'm waiting for the contract to be ready so I can sign!
so is there any behind the scenes of UE in post production?
I believe there's some for Mandalorian but don't quote me on that
A behind the scenes look at the groundbreaking virtual production technology used on The Mandalorian, Season One.
Over 50 percent of The Mandalorian Season 1 was filmed using this ground-breaking new methodology, eliminating the need for location shoots entirely. Instead, actors in The Mandalorian performed in an immersive and massive 20’ high ...
i mean i have seen mandalorian UE but only for the volumetric spaces and even then i noticed the background got replaced later given i remember the background different in the actual show
You can very clearly see the Unreal Engine window at some point
Quite a few people asked on Twitter if I could make an explainer / tutorial video on how I went about doing the water for my Epic Megajam entry, Ant Ausventure (available here: https://itch.io/jam/2022-epic-megajam/rate/1686835)
Obviously you don't need to use Houdini for this, you could use anything that does fluid simulations, like Blender o...
They talk about UE applications in Mandalorian in that video
They started as just rendering the env
but then realized they might aswell
oh yeah thats the one i saw but it basically only shows the volumetric space being served via UE
Yeah as for seeing behind the scenes I don't think there's much around, but they do TALK about what they do in UE in that video
To be completely clear, I'm not sure UE is the future of VFX
I think more specialized solutions will almost always be better
but it is used and it's cheap
ue its the feature
i honestly thing a heavily AI powered solution will be used in the future for background replacements and such so that masking and keying will basically be a thing of yesteryear
That actually looks very good
especially since i saw clips of AI powered masking already where you can just draw roughly inside the object you wanna mask and the AI auto detects the edges and whats part of the object etc
u can make stuff in houdini and import it to unreal for real time render its so cool and cheap
really fancy tech
btw u can do it real time without path tracing
stuff like this
where you literally just go this is what i want to remain and some large AI model does a huge chunk of the work
That's Davinci Resolve
due the final version u have to use path tracing that takes time
ye but i think that those AI solutions will be the future
where a lot of work will be done completely automated including model generation, scene generation and animation data
u dont need to use green screen in unreal due u use 3d models replicated and u just cut on top of real video
due to get real good motion blure
i honestly think AI will not just be the future for VFX/CGI and video editing but also a lot of other jobs
game design, story telling, programming, market analysis
itll take of a lot of work and then leave the finer details to humans
Hopefully so, as a Computer Engineer that's my bag LOL
i love ai due it will replace discord mods
ai its just making ur jobs easier
It is, but tbf it also made my only possible study path into Machine Learning
Like quite literally, my only masters option is Machine Learning
i wish i had the time to deep dive in ML
Oh trust me you don't
It's just matrix math over and over again
xd
It's not as interesting as it seems from outside
yeah but the power of data in, workload out is incredible
Yeah for sure, as an end user it's super cool
as somebody that works to make it happen, not so much
i only ever trained smaller models trained on a handful of GB of data mainly images and a few models with a few hundred MBs of text but i would have loved to spin it further into a fully fledged AI bot for our discord
would be the perfect place as we got a lot of repeating questions
And it's also very fucking annoying that traditional university courses don't exist anymore, I can't be arsed to get a master in ML
never went to uni i wouldnt know ¯_(ツ)_/¯
That's still technically an end user, if you go for an ML master you won't almost ever use a pre-existing model
that sounds like a very narrow path if all they offer is ML for computer science there
It's for Computer Engineering specifically
Computer Science is a lot wider
ahhh the cursed subsection, yeah fair enough then
mainly used tensorflow idk if that in the background uses preexisting models or not
i did like being able to fine tune the results although i hated how long training takes
Tensorflow is basically a framework for model creation (very very very basic explaination)
You'd use tensorflow quite a lot in uni studies
well i none the less never got far into it
It does have its benefits tho especially in EU
The Engineering title is fucking stonks
oh I'm aware but I rather keep being a programmer who can just read into hardware design rather than having to actually deal with that lol
its not easy
Tell me about it, I'm 5 years into my 3 year degree LMAO
But TBF, so are a good majority of my class
i mean i do have a hot take on education and especially higher degrees but maybe smth for a discussion in the future
Based, I would lie if I said I didn't consider doing just that multiple times in my life
cool it will be worth it learnd 3d modelling and shader’s from youtube due i was to poor for school
I feel you, I was only able to afford studies because of state funding and dynamic pricing based on salary
cool that they helped
no, you will make the weird LLVM optimizations and also make a bigger cpu frontend to exectue faster without latency penalty, preferably both at the same time so my bad code runs faster, thanks
Na-ah, I will go be useless in a lab waiting for a random ass ML model to train for the next 365 hours while I jerk off
That's the real deal Pog
(I'm obviously kidding, I respect ML students... somewhat)
i love when u have to render or train something for 200+ hours and it will not crash
yep they need to be gone
no we need wait times
when i see youtubers and tiktok kids saying 4090 its overpowerd im saying is it
Yeah, this used to be true in the past, now compiling is way too fast, which is why humankind invented ML training LMAO
fam u use amd or intel cpu
oh noe
I'm on a 5800X3D (AMD), but was forced into Nvidia GPU (3070) because of CUDA
CUDA is pretty much a strict requirement in Computer Engineering
@open steppe same i got 3060ti and 4070 due to cuda cores to render in vray
always wanted to try AMD MI cards for AI
It's basically like they don't exist
well you arent going to buy a m300 for personaly use but you can rent dev time on one
I've been collaborating with a PhD friend for his project, needed a new lab server, AMD was not an option
They literally don't even consider it
id imagine most AI tooling is built around tensor cores
not the small labs but the big installments are considering them heavily atm
is it good for 300 euros
Oh yeah for sure, if we're talking big boy stuff, then yeah
But for A6000 grade shit
AMD doens't have an offering
it's non-existant
if you dont go super low level and you just use pytorch or something that just runs on anything
hm
nah rtx a6000 ada its a beast gpu if u can get the 80gb version
yeah its not a big market but it hurts amd, not in missed sales but in talent that uses just cuda for a long time after
i mean i heard talks about 1 mi300x costing like 16grand
which ngl i did consider paying to try it
Yeah I agree, shit in this context was like "stuff", as in "but for a6000 grade stuff, AMD has no competition"
4 rtx 6000 ada i love the power they have
Yes exactly, when researchers have only CUDA as training options, research WILL be based on CUDA
you arent going to get anything but rack solutions with 4 or 8 of them in one blade as normal consumer lol
my issue with renting dev time is you basically pay for every fail you make when writing whatever program you wanna run
and a blade server at that
That's why you have production and testing environments
you can use older Mi60 and such but they are much weaker
You run your shit on a different envirnoment untill it passes all the tests, then ship to production
and current rocm development is mostly focused on mi250 and newer
im aware of the concept just id need some amd instinct accelerator to try on
mi50- and mi60 are cheap on ebay sometimes though to play with
@open steppe im sure u will have had fun on this pc 4 a6000
@ashen spindle are you familiar with ZLUDA? has it made any significant process since the release a couple of months ago?
oh yeah only around 300bucks for the 16gb version
progress*
zluda had to be canned because nvidias tos changes
No shot
That's so anti competitive..
Damn
I can tell you more later in like 3 hours after raid
Damn, ZLUDA being a thing was making me hopeful for more competition in the entry level CUDA market, now we're backed to being doomed xd
didnt even hear about it being canned
TBF my understanding is ZLUDA was made by reverse-engineering CUDA which is a legal grayzone
i thought they still pushed stuff this month to the source
It being a wrapper for CUDA itself is a legal grayzone I believe
There seem to be some (very little) activity this week even
But I did hear Nvidia changed its TOS, just didn't know ZLUDA died because of it
would be sad if it truly did die
i love when stuff gets ported to "incompatible" hardware
reminds me of .net on win95
Take your time and good luck with the raid! (what game?)
final fantasy 14 id guess
given thats what quin mostly plays and raids in
the bane of any coder... cute cat girls
oh I see, I know next to nothing about that game
its pretty good as an mmo once you slog through the base game
mainly due to things like crossworld play, cross data center play, 1 char can be all classes, realtime playermarkets, housing systems, guild housing, and most of all very very fun raid mechanics
like doing maths in a raid
yeah ff14, latest ultimate raid which is the hardest content in the game, single bosst fight with 6 phases and takes like 18 minutes entirely
we're at like 11minutes in at the furthest
so 8 minutes till the end with one minute of transition cutscene in it
that looks like one of these early consumer cameras where you had to carry an entire briefcase with a tape teck in it
holy fuck dood
That's pretty cool tbf
you know it's serious shit when it comes with serial and VGA
A lot of shit in business sector I heard uses ancient coding languages, like PERL or whatever
Seems useful to have VGA and old display ins/outs
VGA is still the standard for kvms
No love for DVI?
No need for hand shake

Damn they all bad 💀
this is what what they ADDED because of zluda
so it was totally fine before and not just amd but also intel sponsored it
so the plan was probably to have that as a backup but then rocm matured enough and als this part made it legally tricky
EULA isn't retroactive tho, which means the existing ZLUDA is fine, the future updates can't be based on CUDA output
oh yeah its fine and non comercial is fine too
but amd could never make that an official thing going forward then
Mhh, I'm not sure about that
and only supporting outdated cuda versions would be pointless too
I don't think you necessarly need CUDA output to refine ZLUDA now that it's at a working baseline
Don't know enough of the inner workings, but I'd say it shouldn't be impossible
That I agree with
since when can clean-room reverse engineering clauses in EULAS be enforced in court
does it matter if they just put it there and threaten
usually not, if anything that tells you what they're afraid of lol
you arent going to get meta or any other similar massive hyperscaler to commit to your platform if you say "well you can get good software using this, but it is against TOS so if you get unlucky your entire investment has no point"
doesnt matter if you get a 90% chance to win in court
will be interesting to see that. I heard AMD ROCm stuff was pants to use anyway
it was always fine for HPC since that was their main target pre ai boom
and with rocm 6.x it seems that works a lot better
consumer grade still trailing
but for the big ones, meta said mi300 was the fastest they ever got new stuff to run and fully useable, you dont have that if the environement is still pain to use
rdna4 should be hopefully the first useable step for consumer aside form the current joke of an attempt
but they already started code commits to enable Navi48 in rocm and for rdna3 that started way after launch lol
okay thanks ill get the 240hz one and new gear
aleight thanks bro
one minute of wasted time on every try? 💀
nah its one minute transition between phase5 and phase6 so the last phase
so once you get to that point you almost did it
so after 90% prog you start seeing that
Must be infuriating when you're close to beating it
fking elden ring cutscenes already kill me
no its a break because you get a break from 14 minutes of stress lol
Ah true
as i was saying, the 5800x3d is so close in performance to the 7800x3d that the 4090 hardly benefits in edge case scenarios when testers were trying to find just how many fps it can push
true.
Oh yes 100%, I just did it for AM5 and a microcenter bundle 🤣
unless the 9800x3d does some magic that and the 5090 has some massive gains over the 4090 i doubt am5 will be worth it even foe enthusiats
whats a good mouse bungee
i dont think its even close brother...
I think we can expect the 9000 series from AMD to be at least 30% faster, look at the performance difference between each equivalant chip from each generation
theyre close enough that the 4090 gains not even 50 fps in scenarios where it already getting close to 500
ive upgraded each generation so far except for am5
high fidelity games with lower fps count wouldn't gain meaningful fps... already high fps game wouldn't matter to me with 165 hz monitor
you do not only got benefits for your 4090 tho 5800x3d is not even close to 10% in benchmarks
as a gamer i dont care
my pc is used for gaming and gaming only. i dont care about any other scenario
games use processor too
same here, and youtube sometimes.
7800x3d is top tier for gaming rn and 5800 is not even close thats all
Depends on the game and settings tbh, 7800X3D and 3080 could beat a 5600X and 4090 in some games..
yeah, and the biggest thing the 5800x3d did over the 5800x was the .1% lows
cache really helps
i dont care to get another 100 fps when i already get like 700 in valorant
yea 7800x3d basically tops all other cpus rn on the market
i woudlnt care if i got 10000 fps
add ddr5 rams to it
I'd care, because then I'd be gaming on a Nasa space station.
im not disagreeing with what youre saying
but that extra performance is useless in my eyes
Same, but I agree with you.
It's just not worth putting another several hundred
but im clearing the fact that 5800 is not even close to 7800 brother
the single biggest benefit i got was stable lows
and the 7800x3d didnt really make massive gains there
probably depends on the game too
difference in 4K is mostly minimal
anyways i went with am5 to get ddr5's and future upgrade route
the top end performance gains meant far more when they were still within reach of monitors
but now were out here getting almost double the fps that most monitors can do
and still getting more then the best monitors can do
in 4K, it's mostly GPU bound, so fps gains is minimal, and game that already goes past 165, I can't utilize because of monitor
exactly my point
no one with a 4090 is gonna game at 480p just to get over 1000 fps
and im too old to benefit from having 1000fps on CS2 on literal ms delay benefit
if i am on like actual 1080p competitive cs2, I would actually consider change it
same here
but in my use case, it actually have negligible difference
no but minecraft gfx is valid way to lower input lag
720p/1080p where it at
the skill ceiling is so far above me that id run into many many barriers before the fps i can push became an issue
i played MC during early beta days
That's unfortunate. I'm at the pinnacle, always.-
I did claim bedrock copy, but isn't most things done in java anyway?
they made bedrock and almost everyone play on java anyways
i do remember jeb promised modding api
minecraft gfx just means super low graphics in competitive mode
Like render scale < 80 % and lowest settings etc
does java have HDR mod?
I remember at least trying HDR on bedrock edition just to try it out
oh no it was not HDR, it was RT
nvidia made big deal out of RT on MC
Too bad the game isn't quite ready to run with it in outside of premade maps with very specific layouts.
Nvidia HDR?
i think there are shaders that got rt can be wrong
correct
nvidium is a very cool mod though, speaking of nVidia.
i wanted to ask if there are anyone using a powered usb hub with your wooting, could you let me know which one it is? i am looking to buy one but a little unsure which to go for
some ugreen one
will check it out thank you
kb and mouse and works just fine, just make sure its usb3
I do, Unitek Y-3184
Works nicely with 2he, 2 uwus, mouse and mic plugged in
that sounds nice, i will be running 2 boards and just a mouse so should be good

discord account fresher than the veggies i buy at the market
I can't believe people still pay FC for em to overclock their systems for em
Dude charges hundreds of $ to oc people's pcs via discord lol

Wtf let me go take a look.
I must be brain dead, cant find Pokémon
These are homebrews not roms cuz obviously having a link to a rom site would be bad
You store your roms in my files
@celest hatch
Ah so I just go grab a ROM from where ever and plug it into the app
Can anyone help me with my wooting 60he when I press my space bar it gets stuck and it won't come back up
Take the spacebar off and try putting it back on, press down the switch manually with it off and observe what happens.
It's still stuck
No
Check the stabalizers
Like how
Take off the spacebar. Then press everything under it like the stablizers down and make sure they aren't getting stuck, make sure they are aligned properly and didn't like get pushed out idk.
maybe ask in general where more people talk or make a community support thread
I love the 4090 and all but, 7900 XTX is the goat for not using 12VHPWR, best GPU you can get that won't melt.
who owns a zowie xl2556k and xl2546k ? i wanna know if they are just the same i am buying a new monitor
$400 and $600 idk if getting the more expensive one is worth
is the difference only the 360hz ?
my 60he keeps switching profiles and pressing random keys on its own, anyone have this issue? reset the kb, changed the cable and no fix
You using a usb hub at all? Try changing the usb port too
Random keys being pressed is almost always a power delivery issue
plugged right into my mobo, I recently upgraded my mobo and that is when it started happening..don’t know how it could be related though
That’s very odd. Try a different usb port on the mobo
damn bro u might need to buy a new one
Other solution is turn down your rgb and see if it stops (if it stops then you can narrow it down to a power issue being more likely)
still does it..i’m stumped
Even with rgb brightness turned down?
yes I turned the rgb all the way down, changed ports and still doing it
sounds like you'll have to contact tech support then
i emailed them, still under warranty so well see what happens. thanks for your help though
I wonder if a regulatory body will step in and slap the naughty engineers for 12VHPWR
Good price
XTX is £829 apparently, pretty dang good
It's a bit loud for my taste though, but that could just be me
setting it to the quiet setting or adding a power limit works around that mostly.
Which card?
All cards have different fans I imagine, you might have gotten a weird one
And the curve might have been weird
I don't think for a triple fan GPU to run at comfy 60 under load it'd need to ramp up above a 1000 RPM, which is rather quiet
the exact card you just linked.
Ah the XFX XT?
yea
It's still by far the loudest component in my system.
My bad, that's the XTX model, shit bing gave bad results
But I think they are comparable
Well I imagine it should be
But maybe you are hypersensitive to sound?
Results in rpm are roughly comparable to the max power bios, so the power limit is realy just an imbetween.
roughly 1900rpm at the 290w bios
Might just have to get that noctua edition gpu
Noctua fans look so dang ugly though
no they look funni
Ugly
I kind of like them but the problem is getting a matching system
I stopped caring about my how my case internals looked like a while ago now, healthy for the bank account that way
and you go "shit brown thats it "
Then again I am not someone who cares about asthetics too much.
Don't plan on even being able to see my internals with my next case
My rgb years are over
RGB is utterly useless lol
Actually I don't think those lights in that case above were even rgb I think they were red only
Pre-rgb everything
Fractal North looks cool but it gives me the "why am I spending money on something that costs more cause they meant for the thing to look cool from the front, when I'm never going to see the front", feeling
Cause my rig is on the ground under the table
Don't ever see it
I have the Fractal Meshify 2 XL and Im and advocate, for this case at least. Heard good things about fractal and all I heard reinforced itself with this.
Meshify is great
I hope tempered glass gets completely obsoleted by mesh
There's nothing good about tempered glass
Mesh is great for thermals
ive had a black box for years, i love it
Might look into meshify nano, very great looking ITX case
Fractal does a lot of ITX cases yet a lot of them either nobody's ever heard of, or they are very mid
Like Terra, extremely popular for whatever reason, yet it's really not that good
Do you air and water cool your CPU Vex?
Air only
Water is better for ITX cause of size savings, but I'm not bothering to maintain an AIO
Gaming Nexus rate the Fractal Torrent as the best aircooled case out of all of them
tes
Meshify is more type
yes*
I dont mind how the Torrent looks, if I had air and not water cooled I would have gone with that case purely for the results it gives. And I trust GamersNexus, great company.
I don't like the pretentiousness of North and I don't like the look of Torrent
A good performing "normal" case like Meshify is great
Yeah lol, North looks proper pretentious.
I dont think North has better cooling than meshify though does it?
And it cost more from what I remember
No way North performs better than Meshify
North and Terra are "looks" cases
Terra isn't even a good case lel
Bad design on the grills so they make a loud annoying noise
I prefer performance
Doesn't make any sense
North with glass performs the same as north with mesh?
Mesh is objectively a far better material for heat dissipation, unlike glass which contains heat, mesh at least you know, allows for it to escape?
Well tbf it's CPU temperature
Other components like SSD temps, GPU temps would be interesting
I got a meshify s2. Amazing case, but GN tests clearly show that the north can have amazing performance
If you really want all out air cooling performance get a test bench
or just put the bare pieces on the desk
nah I'll get the north or sth similar, I just like the design too much
The torrent is also really good for airflow

Bet that costs a grand or two
My stepdad has one
Yup
Oh it's literally a grand and a half
It's absolutely not worth even half the money it costs
Lel a decent adjustable desk is like 200-300
It's a rather shit standing desk, and the glass is too heavy to lift alone
Why would you want to put something inside of it
If you got money to burn get a flexispot
It's for idiot's with more money then brains
Like my stepdad who is firmly convinced that undervolting can damage his CPU
Doubt it can
I mean, any differentiations in voltage out of spec to a product that's meant to function at a specific voltage would potentially damage something
Yeah. When it's too much
it cant damage it it can only cause crashes if its too low
Though unless you are doing a dangerous manual undervolt, an automatic one is fine I think
Undervolting can't ever damage anything besides your windows install
And that's not real damage because you can just reinstall
technically crashes and damage any open software not just the OS but yeah the hardware is fine
Software damage isn't real tho
best analogy is like you are limiting how much water can flow through a pipe
so less water isnt going to break it
It's somewhere between being a wire and a pipe
I would say it's more for people who don't want to do it themselves
I think it's a cool idea personally because you can have a clean setup.
I would love one myself so I can avoid wires and my tower
yeah have fun dealing with issues that require touching the hardware
The amount of effort involved in building a desk setup like that is insane
He's over 25 grand in
need to reset cmos? enjoy tearing down the entire desk
Does it not have access?
It's also all custom hardline cooled
Taking the top glass off
Tbh I've only seen custom built ones.
Ah rip
And that glass is thick and heavy
I've seen custom ones that account for this
I mean even the best options for access mean you need to remove anything above it for some things
Easy
Ideally you'd be able to slide the entire build out on a tray
Judr pay someone to do that too.
And account for the front panel connectors with pogo pins
so its back to being for people with more money than brains? 😛
Ye I've seen this, the front pops open and you can slide it open.
If you want something nice you'll have to make it yourself/hire someone to do it for you
Big mainstream brands just don't have the ability to do these things because they lose oversight once they grow to a certain size
Hence my point is this is for people that don't want to.
This is for people who can afford to hire others to build their PC
And those people usually have no clue how computers work
Nothing against people who have money, but it's no measure of intelligence
I still dont see any option to make it that would not be a pain to deal with when you need to replace things
And in my experience quite often a measure of the lack of intelligence
unless its like hanging beneatch and you can slide it out or something weird like that
Tbh I don't even want to do custom loops in general
The product was designed to look nice on stage
Seems like a lot of work for smaller gains
It looks good in magazine articles and on reviewers shows like LTT where they can edit out all the less pleasant parts of ownership and ignore the really important aspect of long term usability
Oh, it absolutely is, but it's a hobby
Much like extreme overclocking
Tho a big part of it is that you can cook your parts so effectively that you don't need to have your fans running that fast
Like with the Mora 420 external rad
Being able to run effectively 5x the surface area of a normal 360 rad with a bunch of pressure optimized fans you can let them go to near 0 RPM, and that silence is worth paying for for some people
However with that lianli desk you really are just paying for the convenience of a complete package
new pc as you are getting it or are you buying it as a brand new pc from a store
it will do well but that cpu got released in 2018 so if that's like sold as brand new it's not really new
it's pretty last gen yeah but if it fits your budget
Looks like a used PC sales post given how random the parts are. Three different monitors alone is... yeah 😄
Definitely don't overpay on it.
three? the last two seem to be the same
it was like 300 dollar i think
Nah, no way it's that cheap
Unless someone's mom is selling the pc
yup
what 300? there must be something wrong
did the owner quick sell it, because he otherwise would have thrown it away or what
it used to be like 500 dollars
are we including the monitors and all or just the pc
pc
even used you are paying like 2-300 for the cpu alone and more for the gpu
in my country GPU + CPU would've been ez 800€
everything combined is like 1200€ in used parts prices
the pc looks like this
I mean the pc if its real for those specs is a steal
is it some website listing or a friend selling it to you
because if thats some random listing that does seem like a scam
that does not look like the aorus 3080
I was about to say
wait the listing says asus 3080
it says asus 3080
this is not an asus at all
but it's gigabyte
lmaoo
either someone has no clue or it's fake
the ram is also a different name
it must be someone who knows the tech inside
who photographs a PC that is on in their living room table to showcase it? it can't be someones mom
that ssd is also not samsung
See if they will accept PayPal
tuf gaming vs hyperx
yeah nah that shit is fake
Also not the right case.
valueing this at 300$ is outrageously screaming SCAM
I mean he still didnt answer if thats a listing or if the has it already or what exactly is the situation

i think I got scammed 💀💀💀
bruh just tell us what the situation is, did you pay and are waiting or what
or is that something you want to get and are looking at
yeah
my god
yeah think you got scammed then
I mean for 300$ it's.. okay?
the PC from the picture vs. the website have different specs
I mean I guess there is the chance it's at least something you can resell for the same price
your picture said 3080
on website is Radeon RX 580
you might wanna scroll up
That's not a 3080
yes I think he got it after the first 3 times someone said it doesnt match xD
oh sry xD
I feel like a hypocrite saying this
But people read the previous convos xd
@silver ore what payment method did you use
uhhhhhhhh
He ain't getting anything.
uhhhh
trying to be optimistic here
Don't be
i forgor
shit you're right my credit card is empty
now I will have to pawn off my keyboard just to feed myself
There's no way you'd forget how you paid.
If it was a bank transfer you're screwed
If you bought online via a transaction contact your bank to do a charge back (depending what you get)
If you paid with PayPal (even via family and friends) contact then
If you used cashapp then stop handling money all together
But I suspect you might be trolling us.
nuh uh
my dad paid
idk how he paid
Time to tell your dad, that you most likely got scammed - So he can -try- to get the money back.
Ah, well, forward what I said.
this is my pc rn
ok?
Dear God
And a weird old hand at the top
It just lacks the green fan for rgb
To me this seems like very much a thing in the late 2000's early 2010's even
Maybe ye
yeah 2010 vibe
Ok ye we were still rocking baigie cases then silver for zime reason
I think in the late 2000s we moved to black and silver?
I think around halfway the decade already
before that it was more of the silver things
early 2000s stuff
Almost done
With what?
Wootility on console or something?
Auto adding to Steam and configuration of Wootility on Deck
Nice
cool stuff
Only that gaming mode
Steam is weird when it comes to adding stuff to it
EHY WOULD YOU FUCKING PING ME
I BROKE MY 1190 COMBO
OH MY GOD MAN
thats it

fucking hell man
you know you can disable ping notifications lol
