i see
I could draw with my finger though .-. so idk wtf happened
Idk any better drawing apps
Must look into it
Don't ask me the one he's using in the screenshot I sent cause I haven't a clue
i use adobe sketchbook
not adobe
solidworks?
on samsung with a built in pen, you just take out the pen and start writing on the screen
I found an app called Bamboo from Wacom, the only one I trusted on the Play Store cause I didnt recognise the other brands other than Microsoft, but Microsofts one didnt work
thats essentially how this one works too but you hold down the button first for like a second
if its not got a built in pen, you hold the button down then tap the screen
Yeah
You know how Apple is all about "seamless interconnectivity"?
To pair the Apple Pencil 1 to the iPad, you NEED TO PLUG IT IN WITH A CABLE
oh yeah, sooooo seamless
You pair it once and never again?
but you also need to plug it in to charge it! hence the iPad on a Stick as I call it
Don't they charge it wirelessly
the Pen 2 does
yea dont you pair it by sticking it in?
do you need a cable?
i do know apple makes their charging intentionally awful on their accessories ofc
to pair you need cable, but for charge you just directly plug it in
idk why or how it requires that difference
yes for the gen 1 nonsense pen you need to either stick it in or charge via cable
gen 2 is all wireless
yep xd
the Magic Mouse still sucks regardless cause its way too fucking flat, cant grip it while using the scroll gesture
it was nice when i first got it but man it became tiresome quick, i wanted the gen 2 a lot
Ive launched it backwards off the desk a few times while trying it at the store
.-. as soon as i tried to use the 2 finger scroll on it
lol only thing i like about that mouse is the smooth scrolling, because non apple mice on macs kinda 'pixel skip' idk how to describe it well
Interesting
RDNA4 Navi41 cancelled
Idk exactly wtf RDNA3.5 is if not an iGPU
RDNA4 "looking good" reminds me on how RX 7000 was going to be insane yet wasn't
everything currently is as it was said weeks/months ago
did you start working for wccftech or what
No I just started working for your mom
Don't get Radeon cancelling 2nd high end die in a row
Navi31XL I think it was called, and now Navi41
no it was N36
and N4C for rdna4
and it should be obvious why N36 didnt get to see light of day
Wasn't thinking RDNA4 was going to be good though
If RDNA4 can achieve performance of an XTX for half the price, that'd be nice
is that some april fools leftover
Navi 31 XTX being the 7900XTX die
Those have been on TPU for a long time

yeah no those things were never a thing
One of those was 100% a thing
AMD was thinking of releasing a turbocharged XTX on par with 4090 back in the day
Prolly the 7990XTX
120CUs would wreck 4090 though in gaming
I am intrigued, gotta try planar earbuds one day
I don't get why AMD just doesn't want to compete in high end
I love how weeb Moondrop are
for rdna3, because the the taped out silicon went kaboom
no point in making a massive die that cant reach clocks it needs and would end up performing worse
What's Kepler saying with RDNA3 having a major architectural defect?
and the rdna3.5 we will get in the upcoming apus should show that was the case
the same thing everyone has been saying since the release
man did you have amnesia or something, this is far from the first time this was discussed
These support LDAC, i thought that was Sony exclusive??
poor woman is being assaulted by outdated walkmans
I sure don't remember that being discussed
since like the first week after launch when everyone was confused
LDAC is in a lot of devices
Rdna3 was first attempt at chiplet design on a gpu, think they ran into some early hiccups
you can see that when looking at clocks in compute workloads and powerdraw as well as v/f curve, that isnt memory related
Feed it power and you don't get the expected results
if it was chiplet that caused the issue, N33 being monolithic would have been killing everything around it lol
Also, I think everyone are far better off moving to aptX adaptive
yeah for sure
Fuck AAC though
The thing is shit
Of course the standard Apple codec would be shit
Miles inferior to aptX
any android can transmit ldac, it is rare that we see anything receiving it outside of sony but it does happen
oohh
Praige to aptX
ldac is very nice but its very high bandwidth for the sound quality
def better than basic aptx but there are tiers of ldac, 330 really isnt that much better, where 990 is incredible
Pretty sure the high idle power draw with multi monitor and video playback on rdna 3 is a result of the new chiplet design or at least amds current design for it
nope that was mostly fixed driver issues
Because the lower tier cards that don't use chiplets don't have the issue
if you look at nvidia the higher tier cards also have proportionally higher idle power
for example one of the first fixed issues was the memory not clocking to idle clocks when having multi monitor setups
and it was worse on previous gens on top of that
for both nvidia and amd
yeah I know the numbers that doesnt change it's just not chiplet related
look at the 5700xt lel
That's after amd "fixed" it
yes?
🤷 point is its beeeeg chip on the 7000 series
Rdna1 was good when the drivers weren't crashing
Sad that 3nm or 2nm process isn't available yet I don't think
Yeah, but when it works, it's really dang good
Pretty sure next gen apple products have first dibs on those nodes from TSMC
(Like always)
and after next gen the amnesia about the real prices will come back and vex will be saying rdna3 and 2 were incredible that rdna4 sucks
Yeah feels real good getting crashes everyday for 6 months
That is pretty sad but there's enough fab space there
After some driver updates that really happens maybe once in 6 months nowadays
It's a good stable arch that had a horrid launch
No product should launch in the state Rdna1 launched in
Nothing more frustrating than constant crashes
intel has an excuse at least lol
and they already caught up to amd at least crash wise, performance still isnt there for the same amount of gpu horsepower tho
Just pay with revolut
I wonder do they accept the one time use cards from Revolut
a lot of sites dont 😢
I forgot Beauty Of Annihilation has a section that only plays in the right channel and I thought my headphones had fucked up suddenly .-.
Didn't he just say he wanted to get better playing offline before he went online 🤔
why tf is he building such a simrig then
(and not going vr to begin with)
He got it like that?
Seems weird to judge someone for buying something they enjoy 🤷♂️
He clearly ain't strapped for cash
then he should stop making videos about flexing his newbie simrig setup
does not make it less funny
Gatekeeping a hobby nice
yes, that is why he should stop
he unnecessarily raises the bar for some people
Fn+3
its not working
Hmm... Could you please send a screenshot of Fn Layer 1 from Wootility?
Probably doesn't exist, but does anyone know of a mouse that has a middle button separate from the wheel
old logitechs with the mechanical clicking mechanism for the scroll wheel
or any gaming mouse with the ability to rebind the scroll wheel
Damn, starting to realize after many years that my g903 just doesn't quite work and part I think is the position of the scroll / the amount of pressure it takes to click
Was thinking if you slip the scroll backwards a little you could put a stand alone middle mouse button in front and could make mid click lightweight like the other buttons...
logitech g600
my provider netcup started offering ARM64 vservers... hope they soon offer arm64 roots as well
Thinking I need to develop my own mouse lol
now I'm curious, what are you doing on a vserver that that matters/is an advantage?
im mostly curious about pricing differences due to less powerconsumption and package compatibility
I doubt it uses less power
i mean if its drastically slower, itll probably use less power
and for apps where you need privacy but not speed, thats a fine tradeoff
lmfao sure but in that case you just dont take the latest gen
or a config thats lower clocked and thus achieves the same
older stuff could be expensive since they want to replace it and it uses alot of power
get a config that uses less cores or a sku with lower tdp and lower clocks
sure but often the providers dont install that, they just install a bunch of the same standardized stuff in a few brackets
Is there even arm with out of band?
good question
why would it not
i mean i assumed it was more a is it commercially available
servers dont use the platform integrated stuff, they usually use a broadcom dedicated chip
windows on arm even has it so I doubt it's a thing for just expensive enterprise
wait nvm this articles uses out of band for out of lifecycle lmao
gg in my infinite wisdom i ran apt purge docker.io to remove the GUI stuff of docker... and purged my volumes into the netherrealm
rip
time to download the backup and manually pick out the files
I don’t see how that went wrong
Hey everyone, I just bought a H60+. How risky is opening up the keyboard to lube it for someone who has never done this type of stuff before? I'll watch some videos about it but is there something that I can do very wrong that would break the keyboard?
Pretty hard to fuck up
So there is nothing I should be careful of when opening the case?
sometimes they put a spring loaded fake snake in there to spook people
Last April fools they had real snakes, didn't turn out well...
lmao that kid got pranked hard though
yellow/black themed wooting snake
wait isn't that just the cable
hey guys, is it possible to set a key to a side mouse button when remapping
on the wooting? it cant do mouse inputs
You can do this in a very roundabout way depending on your mouse.
On my razer I set one of my keys to be numpad 1,then in wootility I set a key of my choice to numpad 1 . Boom Done. Just a random example, I don't actually do this.
what
that just means you set both your mouse and keyboard to do the same input
not that you set your keyboard to actually input a keycode for a sidebutton
da63
dav 3
Well it depends on why they want to map it like that in the first place I suppose.
Like I said, I don't do this. If anything, I want more keys on my mouse.
Mlid 🤢
So it's a fake slide but mlid swears by the information being correct
They never change
Oh joy. Youtube shorts are finally unusable.
They've started injecting ads into the scrolling, but adblockers know this.
So every fifth or so time I go to a new short, it'll be like a 5 frame flashbang of noise and light before the adblocker kills it and scrolls to the next one.
Wait you didn't consider them unusable before?
With no audio or playback controls outside double speed
Oh and fully muting + pausing obv
Simple addons fix that
Ah didn't look for any
One of my odder addons for youtube already doesn't function properly
Very simple filter which replaces /shorts/ to /watch/ in URL is enough
For windowed fullscreen
For me shorts glitch out and become unusable after clicking "don't recommend channel" like 50 times
Lol
It defaults to last short you didn't say no to, and if you scroll down it just serves you an ad, glitches out and brings you back to the previous short
Constantly
Basically just unusable

And yes I've at this point clicked "Don't recommend channel" like thousands of times now just cause shorts have virtually zero personalization
It's just generic mind numbing trash
List for that is short for me
If you just scroll past it knows what you don't like
Much more effective than filtering channels
ooh thats a nice trick
I’ve been laughing so hard for hours about him falling for that
It's come to my attention that a picture in my recent video is fake. However, every quote in said video took input from long-term sources that insist it's correct. Thus, I've decided to pull the pic, but leave the video up. I apologize for my mistake, but stand by what remains.
MLiD, how can a fake made up image have information that's correct
It gets even better, he put stuff from that same single email source as multiple sources on his video and it’s contradictory lmao
God computex will be so funny
Realistically what's the point of PCIe nowadays if not for basically just SSDs
Bros been at it a while suprised there's enough people out there that still take him seriously
GPUs don't make use of that PCIe bandwidth
They do
Barely judging from performance gains
SSDs do but consumers don't need those speed increases
PCIe nowadays seems just primarily enterprise benefiting from new revisions
esp since they feed directly from the SSDs
would be somewhat useless without a bigger interface on both ends
for consumers the current interfaces are SUPER overkill
I would be surprised if we got tasks in 5-10 years for normal consumers where pcie gen 4 vs 5 matters
outside of like TB stuff
Is it logical to say that the fact that since PCIe is used by consumers as well, but the newest versions of it bring virtually no improvements to anything a typical PC user would do, it's a hardware design defect?
The hardware isn't designed the right way to make full use of the extra bandwidth
Or is it just completely normal
Games just dont keep up file size wise and honestly it‘s probably a good thing
Game sizes are already inflated af
And caching stuff on the video card is faster and less prone to other bottlenecks like slow disk etc
Surely pushing for faster standards, means more lanes for consumers on existing products? Meaning less need to split lanes for additional nvme and such?
Maybe but that also costs more
Yeah but that's only useful for power users?
Most peeps just need like PCIe 3.0 1-2 SSDs
And saying it’s a design defect is like saying 800GB/s Ethernet is a defect because your consumer cpu couldn’t write it that fast on a normal ssd
Facebook just keeps pushing weirder and weirder UI changes.
First they remove the feed sorted by date (or hiding it at least)
Then they change the Groups feed to only show sporadic "curated" content from each group
Then they make groups shift from post to post, like it's TikTok or YouTube Shorts, instead of a smooth scrolling down the feed.
And now they just completely removed Groups feeds, and turned it into a "here's a list of groups you might find cool" system. No content.
I have 3 nvme's one of which was slowed down due to lane limitations on my 5600X system.
Could be useful if DirectStorage gets off the ground properly
Nah
Current stuff is already fast enough for that also latency matters more than rather than bandwidth
That reminds me I can't find my 3ds
Mine is... somewhere
But it's rpi backup image, and if that won't work then I'll have to spend next week creating a new one from scratch
SD cards go to die inside rpis

I've set it up with overlayfs, despite that SDs still die after several months -.-
Ive had my SD card in my Steam Deck since I got it
and then moved it to the OLED when I got that
its so satisfying popping in the SD card and seeing all the games immediately show up in the library tab
yeah but a rarely written game storage is something completely different from a os storage
I'll do you one better. Here's the original PNG of the fake slide and the original email sent to MLID. Oh and btw, "FezPrinceEvent" is an anagram for "ZenFivePercent"
【QRT of Bionic_Squash (@SquashBionic):】
'Lmao, @mooreslawisdead took the bait. This slide is not from AMD. It's actually made by some of my friends who wanted to …
💖 6 🔁 2
What's the joke with Zen 5%?
zen5% ipc
because mlid thinks its a really small uplift and that name is jsut a joke from it
yeah but the joke is his early slides had zen5 at like no big uplift and ARL at 30-40%
so take the name zen5 and add % to it, joke done
I have heavy doubts ARL will not be a flop
which makes it all the more funny
Ah... Good to see my grafana dashboard is finally working correctly
not sure if that is right
That's AC power usage in server room at my workplace

wait
ah rip
forgot where the right webpanel for me was
but we average out at like ~400kW
on saturday?
Yeah, no one will bother me about "icinga sent an alarm, there's no data from sensors
"
AMD Navi 48 is the first confirmed RDNA4 GPU The company indirectly confirms its first GPU for the new series. The NV48, not to be mistaken with 20-year-old NVIDIA NV48 GPU is the short codename for AMD Navi 48, the next generation discrete GPU. The development for this RDNA4-based GPUs has progressed, and it has […]
"Begins development"?
yes
It's already in development, what kind of title is "begins development"
read the full sentence please
Navi 48 and 44? Of course AMD would do that - change naming convention after it was kinda established with Navi X3/X2/X1
well no not really
those arent names for marketing but internal code names anyway
like the top rdna3 sku was supposed to be N36 😛
its mostly just based on when they begin working on it
Good

ooo a streaming service just for horror content 😍
Someone less honest would probably say that it is morally acceptable to pirate content, no one's willing to sell you.
If its literally impossible to buy it legally, then yeah...what else can you do?
coughhttps://www.braflix.video/cough
WE have unironically reached that point with some content, as streaming services remove stuff over time.
yeah 🤦♀️
we have reached a point where you sometimes dont know if youre even pirating or not
TRUE .-.
Isnt that site the only "legal" way to obtain games not sold anymore?
because nintendo themsevles have some of their games on there
yeah, I got super mario bros wii on there
highly doubt it
yeah if some rando typed nintendo as the user name probably xd
Hazbin Hotel is on there :O HELL YEAH can actually watch it in HD now
Cause Amazon Prime doesnt do HD on Linux cause DRM .-.
so I was forced to watch it in 480p 🤢
streaming services hate pc, almost never been able to actually get 1080p on any service on pc
dont know what that is
Pirate streaming service that everyone thought was legal until police clamped down internationally
Mhmm.
then theres the whole darkside of yt
with cryptic video titles leading to 18+ content and full movies etc
FAMILY GUY FULL EPISODES NO CUT NO ZOOM S500 - S6
I mean if you search family guy on youtube you will just find hours long videos of family guy episodes
however they zoom in every 4.13289 pico seconds
yeah im talking basically unaltered full on content
yea
theres also the shockingly large amount of accounts that upload videos with 18+ "anime" content as a thumbnail
be it shitpost status content or some random russian youtuber
On the kids version of YT no less.
It really is
My little brothers found this channel that just "finds" a bunch of "abandoned" kittens stuck in weird places like sewer drains
But the dude posts like 3 videos a day of it
Every video had millions of views as well
oh theres tons of that
or seaturtles with shit magically stuck to them
yeah sure that turtle just had a coral reef on its back you totally didnt glue that on
Also seen one where this dude was putting hamsters through death run mazes
there are also animal fighting videos that just get recommended to you
They were made of cardboard, but very clearly could kill them still🤣
Those had like 20m views
It was wild
they're pretty unlikely to die due to falls or an injury- because the stress will likely get to them first
would be better if they just provided the tools.
That requires effort

quite the avant-garde article from the Verge
"bulkier size" wha... the one in their image is the same size as print only color led from brother... they are about the same or smaller than normal ink copiers
it should be noted that this bit is right under sub-headline of "Here’s what Google Gemini had to say when I asked it about Brother laser printers, which is not worth reading but which is by definition an incredible example of experience, expertise, authority, and trustworthiness because Google is synthesizing the entire web for this information, right? Isn’t that the whole idea of these LLMs, or are we just kind of fooling ourselves"
my biggest gripe is that brother doesnt make laser printers
at least all ive seen from them is LED printers
pretty sure i have one
same i think mines also laser
i mean yes they are all called laser
but they dont use a laser like a laserprinter should
they use LED bars
laser copiers from xerox, kyocera and such use fancy mirrors and stuff to move a single laser beam accross the imaging drum
brother just uses a LED bar thats very close with tons of LEDs
saves spaces and price
oh thats news to me
id say brother lasers are quite good
although id personally prefer a kyocera or an OEM using kyocera parts/PCBs
and not just a black/white printer of theirs but full on copier
with a nice 3000 sheet A4 cassette or smth
🤤
its decent for the random stuff i print. it does have some streakyness now though, no idea why
depends on which direction the streaks go
its either toner dust on the imaging drum and it doesnt get discharged/charged properly OR the coating of the drum is wearing out
which the wearing out is expected after like 30k-250k pages depending on manufacturer and the general printer expected lifespan
i think dust got into contact with the drum
i have no idea what the cartridge is at, it was used
no biggie tho
one day i'm gonna take it apart and clean it
one day...
depending on model its easier or a bit more involved to print a status page of the drum life
if it has a display and menu button its usually somewhere under machine info or such
if it doesnt have a menu button or display you usually have to hold some button(s) for it to print the status
if its used your brother could even be one of those ancient ones with like 10k pages per drum
also dont forget to get a new waste toner container
and dispose of the old one properly
and no you definitely dont wanna just dump the contents somewhere
youll never get rid of anything not landing where you want it to cause it sticks to literally anything and everything
reminds me of all those times a new coworker at my old job dropped em and spilled em throughout the entire workshop
now im a little curious if those big printer / copy combo machines use real laser or not
they do
they also still include mirror/laser glass cleaning mechanisms
always sounds brutal when they run
oh yeah it’s pretty loud, but color and all always comes out so nicely
the ones at my university at least
having disassembled quite a few at my old job i can at least speak for kyocera and xerox of the last few years having real lasers inside
ah I can’t remember now which brand my university has but I believe it was either hp or canon
oh noe im sorry for you uni
the ones id trust the most would prob be konica, sharp, kyocera and xerox in that order
I will have to check the brand once I’m there but yes I am pretty sure it’s not one of those
funny that the 3 top companies are japanese lol
they make good products can’t deny that, ive had very good experiences with sharp but haven’t tried their printers
konica is prob most well known in other circles but they make office copy machines as well
i think their main market printerwise is digital printing presses with things like the Konica PRESS C1070 and 1200
these lovely ladies
sad i never got to work on one
Aha the presser is there, I saw the picture before i read your message and assumed the whole thing was just a printer lol
The printer looks about the same size as ours though
Yea definitely
Huh, @ashen spindle , I had a thought
One reason I am reluctant to upgrade my GPU is just cause it's very power efficient
Or so I think
RX 5700 seems to be 225W
I had a thought, if something like GRE is over twice as fast effectively
Wouldn't it also in theory be consuming less power?
Yeah yeah but my question is, if something is twice as fast, does it also run half as fast to achieve same performance
Cause then GRE would be more power efficient than my RX 5700
Which already is very nicely efficient
it doesnt scale linearly so idk without checking
Well, I tried
100W extra on top of my current card would amount to extra spendings over time
.. huh
Sure, I guess
rdna4 seems to work fine aka not rdna3 power hungry
That doesn't actually mean anything
You double that, and you end up with more watts cause you get double the frames
What's the power consumption on light tasks
https://github.com/codyd51/uefirc look what abominations rust has created @rugged pelican
why do the screenshots look fake
theres no text smoothing
aw
so why are the chat lines different heights
or is the font just garbage
cant even get the font preview to open the font file
Since when was there a DLSS 3.6
I fail to see any image improvements
Well I'm easy to please and I fail to see any graphical improvements lol
last month right?
https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/ says it came with some game ive never heard of lol
some crouching tiger hidden dragon pvp game
Only AAC on these wireless buds 😢
And their bass is way too high even on the lowest setting

If 80HE use as 8K, will I hear high frequency noise?
I hear such noise on my 60he if I turn the lighting to 100%
But it's barely audible
Just typing on the board normally drowns it out
But I doubt the polling rate will cause any noise
And I am also very VERY sensitive to high pitched noise
I hear that crap even if most others don't
Don't let that effect your decision to get the board or not
Especially considering how bright the lighting is
You'll never get anywhere close to 100% unless you use it outside on a sunny af day
I have mine around 40% and it's slightly too bright for my room xd
thats ok I think I'm gonna use 50% brightness or less
Yeah aha most likely!
yah just like that
Yep yep!
is the wooting two (the fullsize keyboard) the same speed as the 60he? and is the 80he coming out significantly better than the previous 2?
Same tech same speed just size is different, 80he just adds 8k polling rate tech wise which is a negligable speed boost it's basically placebo
thank you very much for the timely response my friend
have a wonderful week
The "AI" editing is so-so on the S23U 😅
Yeah I tried to do the same thing with the older version without ai stuff and it was trash
Here's what it leaves on mine 😂
Seems fun
the cup one almost looks non-edited original legit pic
Y'all think Intel are gonna make publishers lock games to systems with their cpus / gpus?
No
Like the MSI Claw etc etc ?
what are you on about
Wat
Just my early morning corporate greed conspiracy theory moment
After experiencing the OLED Deck
These bezels are way way too large
You only see them in motion
That is why these kinda things are silly
nobodys gonna buy it anyway
How you know?
msi is shitty, the device is whacko and the market has plenty of offerings
i dont see why you would go for it
MSI is pretty shit
Don't buy the Claw, bad hardware
Deck remains the number one handheld
Valve should just stuff some RDNA 3.5 iGPU and Zen 4 into the Deck, FHD panel and call it Deck 2
Surprised you think the Linux powered handheld is the best one currently
Sigh
I'd much rather have Windows
But hardware wise it's by far the best
Refined and near perfect
True true
and the price is good too
Very good!
With the LCD model Valve was just lowballing
Now it seems a lot more.. proper
It just felt like Valve was selling an incredibly low margin product to just get you into the "ecosystem", so when they release their proper toys next, you'd feel compelled to pay the proper price
350$ is really damn low
Then again, Switch is about the same price, with none of the quality though
Deckaaaaarrdd
its pretty well known that valve is selling the steam deck for basically no profit
no that is pretty well known to be speculation
they cn afford to, hence why the others will never beat them in price
there is the assumption and some parts would make sense but we do not know the margins on the deck
knowing parts costs its not that much speculation needed
we dont know their parts cost though
what you can get quoted for smaller batches is not what is paid at mass production
I know
had an electronics business for a good 7 years, obviously nowhere close to corporate scale but still involves plenty economics of scale
the only official comment we have is gabe saying the price was painful to hit
that could mean anything from decent loss to extremely low margin
also margins on oled deck are a lot better from the cheaper chips alone I imagine
Valve prolly made from breaking even to what, 20% profit margin or someshit on OLED?
Deck 1 was a statement, Deck OLED is the profit maker

If it's not memory overclocked, results mean nothing
Though I completely forgot 4070Super exists
Let's see... cheapest GRE locally 585, SUPER 681
Plus the upcharge for Windows too
Buy the DOS version
I mean they are working with microsoft, there doesnt have to be a windows upcharge
it could be low, hell ms could even be subsidizing it
It's funny how different things are in EU
"At just 50$ off, GRE doesn't make a compelling option over Nvidia"
It's more like 130$
NV seems to be priced fine in U.S, absolutely horribly in EU
What? It’s like 30€ difference here
How
570 for the cheapest gre 600 for the 70 super
it's not avaiable here in NZ yet 👀
Probably isn’t going to be at this point
Locally it's 557 for a three fan Sapphire GRE, and 600 for double fan SUPER
Which isn't even "local" cause the 600 SUPER is actually an outside the country seller who somehow always underbids local companies
Dunno why specifically here Nvidia GPUs are vastly more expensive unless you buy abroad
I still wouldn't buy Nvidia, too expensive, waiting for Blackwell/RDNA4
AMD prices are pretty similar to Nvidia in NZ
I am extremely not picky when it comes to graphics, I like old looking stuff like Oblivion/Morrowind and I like bugs, glitches, visual artifacts, as long as they are just minor
So I wonder how much I would use the AFMF thingy
I heard it's very jittery, but double frames on any game sounds kinda cool
Hi guys this might seem dumb but I just ordered my wooting 60 he in the iso layout and it seems I have to put my own keycaps on and I just was wondering that all I have to do it push them on gently in the right position.
You have to put on your own keycaps?
I believe for the iso layout
Did you buy the prebuilt keyboard, or the module
iso comes without keycaps on yes
you just press them down
Ok thank you @analog sinew
@cursive summit inside of that when you choose your keyboard layout it shows up
since iso covers multiple languages they arrive separately
only ansi is preinstalled
As far as I'm seeing 60HE is prebuilt even with ISO
no it is not
Well if they are not, it's really simple to put them on
if you want it from staff
yea tak is right
Meh I guess it makes sense for ISO to just send a set to DIY it
It takes like maybe 2 minutes at most
ok thank you guys I just wasn’t sure because I have no experience in this lol and wasn’t sure if it would be easy
Those keycaps are really easy to put on
Good to know I was slightly worried for a second
They kinda find their own way
in the quickstart theres a picture of the layouts if you dont know where caps go and such
Only problem I have is that they take like 10% of the effort to put them in over taking em out
They are actually just really glued in there once they are in
A lot more force to pull em out
well as long as it’s easy to get them in that perfect for me
Yeah to push them in is kinda akin to.. clicking the side button on your phone?
Very little force
To pull them out though
😄
Oh yeah just the obvious cautionary reminder
When you are putting on keycaps, or messing with switches, position them the right way
Don't do it sideways or at oblique angles so you somehow don't snap the switch stem off
I mess with my keycaps quite a bit and I hadn't managed to do it in years, but it is reported that you can just snap the stems with haphazard application
oh thats not worrying at all
damn the 4070s is even more of a scam for u guys...
more money for less vram and slower card
All Nvidia cards are a scam here
ye
Something on that note
Hardware Unboxed are like "Oh yeah look at how useless RTX 2000 series are at raytracing, so don't plan your purchase with RTX in mind years later"
usa cheapest
4070s $600
7900gre $550
But also "We are unable to say how much 4GBs of extra VRAM will be useful for you in the future"
Uh, what?
In 2017 I still remember people rocking 4GB VRAM cards
tpu ftw
It's 2024, 7 years later, and 8GBs of VRAM is no longer enough
12GBs will prolly be obsolete in new titles in like 3 years
16 is defo a major futureproofer
Honestly, I'd buy a card that'd allow me to run Arma 4 when that comes out
I wonder how that will run tbf
3070 = half the fps of 6800 bc of vram
VRAM is a big limiting factor nowadays
what engine is that on
The 3080 i've got is doing fine still. Will have to see what prices are once one upgrades next time
i had a 3080 for like 3months... sold it for $2k and got a 6950xt
hmm
Enfusion runs really well even on my old RX 5700
A very friendly engine
In stark contrast to the engine it replaced, the Real Virtuality, which keeps fuckin lagging if you place more than 10 objects on the ground
I am incredibly hyped for Arma 4
Many thousands of hours spent in Arma 3
they use the same engine but there isnt benchmarks with new gpis 😦
AM5+?
So it seems 700 chipset might come with new cool stuff
no it just means AM5 and going forward
How reliable is Kepler?
very
Cause Kepler is on anandtech forums saying that AMD was planning a large iGPU with 16CUs RDNA 3.5
But it was cancelled cause Microsoft demanded an NPU and AI features
oh yeah remember pluton? only added to amd chips because of MS, same with hawkpoint refresh adding more xdna tops for AI that nobody uses
i mean what if you dont have internet access at that moment
You have a GPU with one
Business class laptops have no business running a local AI model
nah it should not be cloud based
for training it sure for the big models, but then run locally
privacy reasons alone
Doesn't really explain what MES is?
Or how would this make things easier to tweak
firmware stuff, not really relevant for consumers
basically hotz being dumb but public demand ligns up with what amd is doing anyway with rocm for some part so they open stuff for that
does optipoint switches fit in a wooting 60he
Severely doubt those work in a Wooting
Something like Gateron Jades that are specifically made to be compatible with Wooting, do
But if Gaterons are compatible with SteelSeries and Wooting, maybe OptiPoints work on Wooting, somehow, dunno why you'd want that though
Opitpoint? Sounds optical. So no.
They are optical
I dunno why you'd want to use not the official switches from the company you are buying
Wooting switches are great

The NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti is the Greatest GPU of All Time thanks to a mix of value, performance, and timing on a market teeming with excellent choices. It was an era when the AMD RX 580 was largely competing in the mid-range with the GTX 1060, Vega hadn't yet launched, and Intel Arc didn't...
I'd argue greatest GPU is RX 580
Or RX 480, that one was cool as fuck too
you and all the 20 people who bought it
Polaris was massive here
Prolly cause of mining
But you could buy a 580 for 120$ in 2018
the 580 was the default 1080p gpu for years
Mwanwhile back then i intentionally paid 150$ more for a 2080 instead of a 1080 ti for the RT features and DLSS, everyone said i was a dumb dumb back then and I was like well for this little more i'd rather have it than not have it and look at the 2080 now being able to use dlss in every game and still being a great gpu
In 2024 I can say that you were dumb back then
For 150$ i didn't mind paying the extra
Dlss is dope
I was coming from a 980 back then
Dlss was worth it
I'd have upgraded earlier if it wasn't for it
It very much was not when 1080Ti can make use of FSR2 and XeSS
Wrong but whatever
It literally looks like ass
Wrong but whatever
I'm sorry but you are blind if you can't notice the artifacting in far 2
I hate it
XESS is better
But not in every game
You are way too picky and have unrealistic expectations
Anything below quality does look like ass
Maybe i am
I did buy a 7900xtx after all
Even then imo
I know i can be picky
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 XTX, NZXT H6 Flow ATX Mid Tower
would yall change anything?
ty
DLAA seems like one of the few good techs lately to come out of Nvidia
DLAA is nice
Why NZXT case
In cyberpunk in particular the FSR was awful
So much artifacting around street lights when driving
I ain't clicking links cause of opsec but from the little I am seeing in embed, the case is dubious
Felt like i was smearing vaseline on my screen
XESS quality looked nice tho
But xess aint in every game
Sadly
tbh im like a huge nzxt fanboy. why idk. if something is better ill get that tho
DLSS>XESS>FSR
Well if you like NZXT then go for it
Fractals are generally best but you seem to like NZXT then go for it
I have the same XFX card
Its a good card
Just install the anti sag bracket that comes with it
Thing's a fucking tank in weight
ah ok thx
someone told me the 4080 super was way better so i was getting second opinions
Depends on pricing
Super is not way better in any metric
Definitely not in pricing
yeah i just know technically airflow is better for others so im not like dead set on naxt
Same price i'd go 4080 super
nzxt
Significantly cheaper i'd go xtx
Except in RT if he cares about that
i should mention the only games i play are fps. Val and CS. and Souls like. Maybe some cyberpunk.
The xtx can still do some rt fine
so i just need a card good for that
It's just not amazing at rt
I'd take Radeon for competitive games just cause of better rasterization performance
Just leave rt on like medium/high instead of maxed out
But there's an argument to be made for Nvidia reflex
Is the 7900xtx overkill?
In competitive games none of this matters tbh
Games run on a damn potato
For games you are playing? Yes
And he'll probably play hen on low
I just need it to be able to get full frames on that monitor
He could go cheaper and be fine
Oh 480 fucking herts
i just dont know which ones would be good
I just read that
yeah LMAO
Well that's a lot fuckin different from overkill
480Hz, I am not familiar with Valorant that much, but I doubt anything can reach 480FPS in that game
CS.. high end GPUs can do that as far as I remember, but really high end ones
Cyberpunk nothing can reach that kind of framerate at 1440p
im getting 380 rn with my 6600
Meh then it'll do just fine
CSGO used to pull thousands of FPS on high end GPUs lol in some scenarios, CS2 is a lot worse
I don't really play cs
But i was getting like 200 something fps in cs last time i was playinng
But i was running at native 5120x1440
Meh XTX will do prolly 400-500FPS in Dust or Mirage or even more if I am severely overestimating how hard is CS2 to run
Because i don't really care
Ancient could drop prolly
Let me test
Get the GRE instead
7900xt probably would be fine
And yes
gre or xt
GRE
im in us
What country are you in eriz
Cheaper, do a memory OC and it'll perform near 900XT performance
NV is ass at that price range
memory oc hella unstable no?
Not on GRE
GRE is literally XT but factory underclocked cause reasons
With certain pipeline changes
i usually go with xfx for my gpus is there a better one?
Sapphire and Red Devil are best imo
I forgot who makes Red Devil, Powercolor?
There's also Hellhound models which have been extremely good, I think also Powercolor
I'd go Hellhound as best you can buy on AMD side
Getting 300fps but am cpu bound, gpu is at 62% usage lol
the hellhound is $150 more. Is that worth it?
150$ more than what, another GRE model?
yup
I'd go with Sapphire
I made it 2560x1440 low settings
No wait Sapphire is +50$
Fuck mobile Discord is hard to work with
Wait no Sapphire is 549 not 599
Yeah go with that
Goal was to test the gpu perf tho
puls eor nitro?
Sorry that my cpu was holding back the results lol
Whichever is cheaper, Nitro is better I think
Gl
boost clock is 1 mhz faster lol
if its worth the $50 ill do it
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 7900 GRE, NZXT H6 Flow ATX Mid Tower
@whole axle hopefully it helps
Guess it all depends on what settings you want to play at
No
Well you can see my 2 screenshots
CPU Cooler, PSU and Case unless you have specific reasons for them.
Consider i'm on an older cpu
and like medium for everything else lmao
What's your PSU and cooler
Just a huge nzxt fanboy
nzxt
How much
get like a 30$ thermalright asassin instead of a liquid cooler
liquid coolers are overkill for amd cpus
This.
so thats like 230$ saved
yea thats good advice
the 120 se?
Unless you like the aesthetic of the AIO, just know it's extremely unnecessary.
What's the PSU, how much
And here's at 5120x1440 max settings xd
Aka how i'd play
I'd rework it to make a 4080 super or 4090 work.
yeah the 120 should be like 30-50$
Sounds fine price wise, is it 80+ gold at least? ATX 3.0?
Im not a competitive gamer idk if you could tell
i was told amd better for what i play
yeah both
Good
What do you play? What about new games? Do you care about ray tracing or DLSS?
Not really, that's a fine price
I wonder when Antilag + will be back
They play esports shit, defo not raytracing
Isn't it back already
Nope
Competitive FPS, Souls Like, some cyberpunk. New games are trash nowadays. Not really. My monitor will be the 1440p 480hz coming out
Only regular antilag
Also when you are looking at GPUs of that price bracket, the 5% extra FPS from games that favor red or green don't really mean much imo
I only decided amd bc of SAM
I remember Herkelman tweeting something about antilag+ coming back not too long ago
Intel has its own SAM equivalent
No
