upscaling to 1440p looks better than upscaling to 1080p, with the improves pixel count. Using FSR/DLSS or lowering your render resolution a bit will look fine with similar performance.

Panel type is also something to consider? TN, VA, IPS, OLED?

My requirements are also not that high in terms of specs. Just want root, at least 500gb storage (could be micro-sd) and okay performance.

Fair enough, for me it's mostly reading articles, reading wikipedia and looking something up. With the occasional photo which still looks okay enough using the google camera app.

Thinking about it I actually have a yearly use for lots of zoom .
At work our water meter is down a hole which is always partially filled with groundwater, so lowering a camera down and taking a picture it is.
But I don't know if a better camera helps much, it's mostly just that the meter gets dirty and needs to be cleaned with a broom/
