And it’s not even on weight
initial problems sorted out
Went from 33 to 38 grams so it’s basically just a gwolves htx now
They say December ordering for small but they’re literally scrambling to redesign it now because people are roasting them on lying about weights
Their justification is the funniest part
They low key changed specs on site from 33 to 35 grams then said 35 grams is weight without skates and such
The dongle is polled at higher hz than 1khz even on 1khz setting, so they can sneak extra click packets even if no sensor data is available. Clicks can be interrupted separately from sensor data, so clicks always have data availabe to send.
"yeah bro, our mouse weighs less when you remove all the stuff that makes it usable"
...anyone know how to make Jetbrain Toolbox have a monochrome systray icon??
logi be like "superlight 3 weighs only 5 grams*"
*pcb only
It’s impressive they invented a whole new way to weigh mice just to lie about their mouse weight lol
is the "bandwith" limited so at 8k its slower bc of extra sensor data?
go back to playing unreal tournament, grandpa
crap I want to play some unreal tournament
okay makes sense
@rough osprey We don't have more specifics so I can't tell you the HOW 😛
They were available for 1 hour after release. That's nearly same as backorder
Wouldn't be surprised if some staff at least did
Get an easy 2-3+ units and just resell them for twice the price
This is a review and detailed measurements of the Topping Professional E2x2 audio interface (ADC, DAC, Headphone Amp). It was sent to me by the company and costs US $159.
As the British would say, the E2x2 definitely "looks the part" as far as fitting in the general offering of interfaces in...
reguardless of how you feel about ASR, this interface looks like endgame for 99% of people
In this video I test the E2x2 from Topping Professional. This is a new contender in the audio interface space whose main selling point is the headphone output.

yea dell also announced some
hope one of these brands include a KVM
that seems dangerous
can't wait to bash into one making a right hand turn, I guess
or more have my right side of car bashed in
what in the fuck
don't get me wrong
I try to be safe around cyclists, and the issues here is that no cyclist around seems to respect the traffic signals nor signal their own in turn
but if you signalled, I would respect that
Interesting electric scooter design. I don't think it will catch on in the Netherlands though, as it would probably require you to use a helmet, where an electric folding bicycle would not, even if the latter is a bit more clunkey.
The reason is mopeds allowed to go a maximum of 25km/h were a big nuance in cities most of them tuned to go much faster. So they added a licence plate and helmet requirement. Electric propulsion would not change the classification as far as I understand.
Regular mopeds limited to 45km/h requires a form of driver's licence and are not allowed to be used on bycicle lanes. hence tuning the low speed option was popular.
In the netherlands as long as your using your own power there is no need for a speedometer, so there is also no speed limit. Going down a local hil I once hit 50 km/h which does feel a bit scary on a normal bicycle.
wait... how can you get a speeding ticket for that shit? o.o
well, explains it i guess
hoooold on, does hawaii used kmh or mph?
well, i'm fine with mph
i mean you guys signed a treaty to convert to metric

Getting a speeding ticket on a skateboard would not be possible in the Netherlands.
Getting fined for reckless behavior would be.
To me imperial is just a pain, having to convert every number. That's about it.
mph I can handle but don't start expressing peoples hights in 2 different units at the same time.
HA! Found it
Or as a good troll use decimal pointers on yards somewhat close to metric with a small offset.
35 mph should be around 50 km/h iirc
Oh you don't need unit conversions for that.
A road I drove on a lot with covid (normally take the train) has those as well, maximum speed 80 Km/h cat, lets bounce between 50 and 70.
Then a bit further down a truck and some people are desparate to overtake it even though the truck is not the problem.
i'd simply hit the throttle hard and overtake it
Still mph is pretty easy to get used to on the road, just make sure the speedometer is set to the right unit and look at the number on the sign.
other imperial things are more annoying as you actually should convert them.
3 ft ≈ 1 meter
The opportunities to overtake are very limited on that road.
fahrenheit

"0 is cold and 100 is hot" is my favourite way of measuring weather
lol
especially if it goes above and below those
dude got a stroke once again

Feet inches to me is the worst, also the fact that you cannot easily convert volume to weight of a lot of substances that are roughly equal density to water which is a lot of things.
obviously we should use a measurement based on an somewhat arbitrary salty slush and body temperature
volume to weight is stupid
also "fluid ounces" being a thing
well, volume to weight is actually used in a lot of industries, especially the metal industry
Man, some have tea spoons bigger than normal spoons
no
a tea spoon is standardized

I love not needing a weird chart and measuing cups to cook
ok, how much would be a tea spoon of sugar i.e.? Is it like the edge of the spoon or is it like a tea spoon of sugar i'd add to my coffee?
edge
always edge
yea but then you have to look up density for whatever you wanna measure with a teaspoon
since sugar for example is not the same density as salt
but also realistically it won't make a huge difference if it is a bit too much or too little
is the m3 that enticing

@reef patrolis it also tech if i share my "toys" here, which are actually packed with a ton of tech?

then get killed one day by a speznaz op
"kinetic risk mitigations" is funny
are there any left?
they might all be fertilizer around avdiivka for all i know
this will seem like an odd question
but do people not eventually memorise what US customary measurements translate to?
cups, tbsp, tsp, pint, quart, ounce, both solid and fluid, etc
they shouldnt translate to anything lol
3 feet is about a meter, 1.6km is about a mile. thats it
they should be relative measurements
cooking in imperial is just using the same set of items for the recipes
daily reminder that the us introduced metric in like 1978 and never followed up on it
they did
their entire country is based on metric
all their units are defined by metric units
yeah but they still use that shite
"only" public facing
also not sure if its possible to just switch over everything at this stage
the only metric US standards are 7.62x51, 5.56x45, 9x19, and more recently
7.62x39mm
and 9mm
9x19...
there is like a bajillion "9mm"
ofc
its a conspiracy by big adapter i tell ya
I dented the plastic, will that have any effect? Should i switch it out?
Its where you pinch the pinchers if you cant see the damage
Cool thanks
Benchmark results for a Mac15,3 with an Apple M3 processor.
3076 Single-Core Score
11863 Multi-Core Score
Good single core result, meh multicore
I know Geekbench isn't in any way representative of performance really, but it's funny that they are losing even here
Ah yeah even Snapdragon X Elite beats this lol, by quite a bit
asus has had 120hz proart displays for a bit now
HOLY SHIT
Prompt to 3D AND image to 3D is here
I really didn't think we were going to touch the 3D generation yet
ofc
old card dont vanish
even if amd had 100% of sales the till next release that wouldnt remove the nvidia cards already in circulation and all
What was far more interesting
Windows 11 is coming to its end, somehow, already, and it's not as popular as Microsoft would like
I hope that people have actually lost faith in Microsoft and will refuse to just blindly "upgrade" to a newer OS which honestly just functions inferiorly
Do note that the steam survey is always a subset and sometimes chinese users get sampled more than others.
So an increase of windows 10 is most likely just a change in the users sampled.
Not really talking about the increase
More just the general popularity of 11
You'd hope that 11 would at this point be more popular than 10, as Microsoft at least
Whereas it seems it's far less popular, and I wonder what would be the cause
windows 8 never got more market share than windows 7 for starters.
also hardware requirements are a real factor, a lot of older cpu's are still in use.
Indeed that was my first reasoning
But I doubt that's the case though
All Zen+ and Intel 8000 series coffee lake CPUs, or older, support 11
I have my doubts that people are still stuck on Kaby Lake lol
You know there are still a lot of skylake and kaby lake systems out there.
There are still a lot of systems where tpm was not enabled
But.. why
Because they function just fine, if you are not going to play the latest games they are fine.
Zen 2 is like 100$ for a whole 4-6 core package and a motherboard lol
Sure, but something new when the old one still does fine
You know building your own is still a minority, and there are a lot of casual users.
Vex hot take
There are outlying factors why this is not the case though
51% of people are on 16gigs of RAM?
That more than I expected
my 3570k had 16gb of ram
These combined is like over 70% lol
Windows 11 should be available to those people
But also remember tpm on self build pc's was not enabled by default for a long time.
If those people don't enter the bios they will not get the update.
Windows did have a guide how to enable tpm to get 11
Again I am more inclined to think people just don't want to upgrade
Wasnt win10's support goin out in urrr 2025? Or was it 26? Still usin it 😅
10 LTSC will go out of support in 2031
But not sure how the switch from normal 10 to LTSC is supposed to take place, didn't check that
Aaand I couldn't care less
Staying on 10 until Microsoft improves or Linux stops being shite
Or, unlikely, Apple actually stops being an oppressive asshole and embraces gaming
Giving Linux a 50% chance, Microsoft 40 and Apple 10
So eh.. as much as I hate it, over the upcoming decade I'll have to re-learn Linux
they have been
I was playing RE8 on my macbook...
Nowhere near good enough
fuck it
we streamin
vexxsie, baby
I will SHOW YOU
how good mac gaming has become
Don't care
frankly
I think it's just that no one, barring capcom, is even trying
Capcom <3
haven't got separate ways yet
will do so on my macbook
...steam client is still an intel application running through rosetta 2
...we've had M series since...2018? now?
still an intel build
and for whatever reason
sucks the juice
like...this shit ain't hard
I shouldn't have to use an emulated browser to launch my native versions of games
Just wish Apple would keep supporting Safari on other operating systems.
Makes debugging apple specific issues a lot more convenient.
Chromium is shit so, unsurprising
edge is chromium😁
It's also shit
aha 😄
just use safari
preinstalled on all your devices and a solid browser anyway
i would use arc, will when it comes to windows
If I had to ditch Firefox, which will be never, I will be using Vivaldi
Vivaldi is absolutely incredible, the featureset is insane
i love chrome 😄
Not sure why cause it's a really badly working browser tech
Consumes way too much ram, slow as fuck in my experience
Don't like it, don't want to use it
ram not a Problem for me
and does everything i need without waiting
and looks good
and nice cross platform
how those cheap airlines are a thing in current year is beyond me
And why it's good
Although I'd still rather use Vivaldi over Firefox probably, I just really can't be bothered to switch
firefox is giving me old people vibes
Well yes, that's why it's good
It's old fashioned but that's why it works well
Modern bloat is just unneeded for a browser
That's why Opera GX is just 🤢
Their Twitter manager is pretty damn great
K, keep coping
looks just very important for me in software :/
Is it worth to get the 500gb version of Meta Quest 3?
Ah so the cheaper model is fine. Ok good. I guess it always uninstalls a game after you pla y something else
if you even use the games on it and not just linked to pc
Right. Price difference is big enough that the decision is meaningful
16tb for 147
CMR as well.
seems like the only con is that they are louder than WD or Seagate
but if you have your own server closet, then it's a non-issue

bro where was this
Completely slipped under my radar too lol
And of course since it’s final mouse its sold out and the batch they sold back in August has been delayed again and again
They were supposedly planning on batch #2 ready for sale in November but that’s pushed back too
@astral haven Turning in for bed a little later than usual, stayed up to watch the end of the World Series, but just figured I’d give ya a day-in-the-life-of-Qerlak’s-Ultra-2:
32 hours since I took it off the charger, and I’ve used 37% of the battery, with middle screen brightness setting and the always on display enabled. (Obviously the AOD was off throughout the night when I was sleeping due to the sleep tracking mode)
I’ve been very pleasantly surprised with the battery life on this watch, so much nicer than the charge-every-day series 7 I replaced
Very nice
Can genuinely go on a weekend trip and not bring the charger
Obviously it’s no multi week garmin but I’ll take it lolll

my gshock lasts me 6 months in darkness on full solar charge ;d
my automatic watch last .... when im wearing it
anyone who knows audio? looking to move away from audient evo 4 for output, considering Topping DX3 Pro+ and PA3s stack for my headphones and speakers and keeping the evo4 for xlr mic
Toppings are pretty good
depends on your tastes, i generally like salami and tomatoes on my pizza
As far as headphones go, JDS has prolly some of the best budget choices
Very high community regard of JDS at least
what about xlr audio interface? anything from topping?
actually the Topping MX 5 looks like a nicer device for my use case
yeah i'm not a freak i just want something that can process my voice into the pc

Question is if not having OS scheduling won’t have potential negative impacts
Uh.. no?
Like game instructions going through E cores so being slower
Seems these are pretty damn good for low power workloads
Which is funny cause E-cores are ass
mmh efficient and gaming, my fav features
E cores are how you design them to be
Well yes Intel designed them to be useless
AMD just.. took the concept and made it good
Intel designed them to actually be efficient for low power tasks
So you don’t have to consume much power when just browsing
But yes they as a result don’t help with high power tasks
I will need a good source on them actually doing anything
Cause as far as I know, they actually hinder the P-cores
Amd did the same just in a better way
Will they still be as low power consuming for very simple tasks is my only question
You think too highly of the intel e cores lol
Listen to quin lol
E cores are pretty damn useless
Hmm very possible tbf it’s been some time since I last looked at proper benchmarks
I guess I am thinking of what E cores should be instead of what they are lol
no I think you are mixing things up
zen c cores are the same ISA just made to never clock as high thats how they can take less area but have the same performance on lower power
so no lack of AVX512 or bad scaling when going to lower power
thats why the lanes are basically the same, because they are the same core one just is for more power the other for less power optimized
that is why they dont need a hardware scheduler because it doesnt make it worse if it runs on the small cores
neat
What’s the first thing I should upgrade on my pc?
at that point, everything tbh
get a ssd
What Tak said. It's a prebuilt. and I bet HP used -all- the proprietary parts they could get away with.
You could potentially double the RAM for a small boost in games that need more RAM.
You could -maybe- switch out the graphics card, but the power supply probably can't handle it, nor will the power supply have the correct cables (and the motherboard might in some cases outright block other graphics cards)
the real upgrade for memory would be not being stuck at 2133 MT
Wouldn't do much. You'd get 2400mhz at best.
Those BIOS'es typically are locked to JEDEC.
Yeah remember old intel boards they didn’t allow memory oc on lower boards
Not even an Intel thing. Just HP being HP.
No option for a Mhz change, let alone XMP profiles or OC.
Yeah but even without hp bios intel locked it down
Suppose so. And not terribly difficult to find a stick that matches close enough used anywhere.
We used to harvest DDR3 sticks from machines and had a whole rack of them. I assume they're still doing the same for DDR4 now.
Yup and since it's jdec it's even easier
Due to the BTR15’s ability to work as a Bluetooth receiver and as a USB DAC, we have implemented a PC/BT/PHONE mode button on it. With just a click of a button, you can quickly switch between the three different modes to match your current scenario for listening to high-quality music.
340mw isnt that much
the naming convention is bad, meant to be an update to the BTR5
so a BTR7 upgrade would be BTR17
i mean thats more than a btr7
4v into 300 ohm is actually alot tho
I'm sure they'll be able to pump more with a BTR17
but FiiO has been cranking out products like crazy recently
depending on price this could be a real nice unit, balanced for use with super sensitive stuff (too sensitive for apple dong) could be nice
i love my utws
utws cant drive andromedas afaik
are the low impedance?
dunno, just like 130db of sensitivity
oh yea they are 6 ohms jesus christ 🤣
94db at 11mv/.02mw
yea they are known for being particularly awful to drive thanks to the hiss
what isnt known for that tho is
gimme da harman
I have some cheap ass 10mm DD on them
hola?
Oh I didn't say it was that brand
They are chinas
My custom tips for my Sony's died
So I can't use them
oh i thought you said from them
oops
i kinda want an ierz1r but i also didnt want to spend more than $200

yup
exceeept, intel actually has full bandwidth links between chiplets glued units...
yeah I was hoping that would be a hyperlink to the glue powerpoint xD
would be so funny
My normal at m7s
there is slides about that too, starts at like 46:15
obv their numbers but some theorhy and some actual tested numbers
sure but it's also for different things, not all applications scale better with one or the other
I just really like the dig back at intel, didnt watch the full video yet
sure but imagine we had that max per core bandwidth of 70GB available to all 64 or 96 cores at the same time
hbm lets goooo
you'll get mi300 soon enough
if you can pay for it
presentation has some other neat things though
zen4 vs zen4c design
Mars?
Uranus?
nah, amd version
i believe this was the last dual gpu to be the fastest single card?
My 290xs drew 450w each
not stock they didnt
this is noooooot a ref pcb 🤣
Yeah just saying that 580 for a dual 380 is nothing
A single ref 290x would do 400w easy
not stock oob
ion the point is that people were complaining about the power usage of modern gpus stock
and they aint got nothing on this
especially since this also probably idles well over 200w
that im curious to find out tho
again tho the point is the pulling it out of the box, plugging into the pc, and immediately getting that power draw without oc
as an end user
The only issue with the draw is the stupid new connector
I never melted a 6+8 at 400w+
people were complaining before the new connector
and some people have btw
With good cables?
I'm just asking lol
but no the connector doesnt matter
I've drawn shit tons though my psus, never had an issue
its just the circuitry behind it
And same with all the XOC people i know/talk with
shitty vrm = poor load balancing
gotta remember the 3090ti drew waaaaay more power than the 4090
but because the 4090 was missing load balancing, the connector would shove all the power through just part of the connector
Why I'm a big fan of single rail
single rail actually makes this problem worse
unless you have per pin current monitoring
ax1600i best
If the GPU has 1 12v input plane for the connectors the pins will balance
If one has a bad connection it will heat up and pass less current
except
- heating up will cause it to pass more current
- more current has to pass through the other pins of the connector
- there can be a substantial difference even with perfect connection
Wont the connector heat faster than the pin causing it to get worse connection?
nah the pin heats faster, the connector just melts faster
The pin is solid though
Who knows though the only time I've ever seen a minifit burn is from water or poor quality cables
same story for 12 pin tho
anyone know how I can type f3 + g using my wooting 60HE?
it doesn't seem to be working
wonder who you're trying to fool. The 290X had 6+8 Pin power delivery and 8+8
maybe shrout found his integrity again after leaving intel lmfao
the absolut maximum it was able to draw was 300 and 375W
You can easily pull over 400 watts with the stock bios
um no
you can draw 1kw through dual 8 pin actually quite easily as long as the manufacturer doesnt limit you
Modifying the BIOS you can get close to 500 watts
^ and thats on ambient
this
And it only limits it if you want to put the PCI Express logo on the box
Which is why things like the epower and elmor power board will draw triple+ the pcie sig rated out of a 8 pin
ohhh ok thank
A single 8 pin is 150w by the pcie sig, or 325w by molex
and thats with zero airflow
Back to the video a quad 8pin can draw easily 1500w without major issues wiring wise
Yeah by a minifit is easier to install correctly lol
They really should of made it a 6+6 instead of the dumb ass sense setup
Lower Decks and Gen V season finales tonight, feelsbadmans. @prisma crag Gotta find something new to look forward to on thursdays

yikes

LD live action was amazing
Def the best animated cross over
But it's more like 8%
They just added optimized drivers for games they didn't optimize before
Shite headline
Some would say it's an ad for Arc A750
they're called amd shills
What are you talking about
As long as you shill for all equally it's fine in my book
Get your intel shilling somewhere else
happy to see arc improve
Every one of them has something good to offer imo
and all have their downsides too
Well yes, AMD has CPUs... Nvidia has GPUs...
Intel has..
Uhm
Intel offers.. uhm
Idk, nothing of worthiness
the market is in dire need of more competitors
And I got both cpu and gpu from AMD
:(
especially in the midrange segment
6950xt
only for ai and video editing
Stupid choice
You dislike it?
No, it's amazing
for gaming it hiiiiiiighly depends on which game you play as seen here
But I've been having frametime issues and it's been driving me absolutely nuts
Frametime issues?
Microstutters and such
Hmm
have you tried with RTSS?
Did you try to DDU uninstall drivers completely and reinstall?
not allowed in some games btw
When'd you buy that card
Well, not really?
Oh?
Usually it's 2 years for warranty
microstutter usually isnt warranty?
If the die is faulty then just invoke warranty and tell the place you bought it from to test it
5700x, corsair vengeance 32gb 3600mhz I believe
Rebar on or off?
Tried both, nothing changed but it's on for now
AMD calls it SAM
Yeah
SAM sometimes causes stutters afaik
the ayyyymd radeon lottery tm
@quiet tangleWhat about fTPM?
can always try older drivers as long as you arent needing any of the new features or game optimizations
I forgot what that is
my nano is pain on the most recent 3 drivers
I rolled back to the old stable drivers and it did nothing either :/
ftpm causes issues on linux
Well it's in the bios
If it's disabled, that's odd
Oh?
fTPM has reported problems with stutters
But if yours is off then, that's a fun case
windows doesnt activate the tpm except for when you log in or open an admin password window
Are you on Win11?
Could you perhaps go back to win10?
I could, though I'm not too sure if it would make much of a difference except ruin my hotbar 😭
they are the same under the hood it wont make a difference
Well at this point you can try anything
True
I'#m going to try a few more fixes, if nothing else works then I'll just roll back
you can try the fullscreen optimizations trick
I did
It's just a mess lol, I'll figure it out
Honestly it's probably the motherboard
gigabyte.
Which board?
Aorus elite ax v2
eh giga boards are only bad when you are in bios or installing software
Ehh nah, that's a good ass board
if you manage to boot its fine lel
Really? I've only heard bad things about it lmao
That and the soundcard doesn't register my microphone through the 3.5mm which is fun :)
wouldnt worry about the hardware, its just the bios is hot trash and the software is atrocious
But did you install drivers
Manually?
Yes
dont want to use the gigabyte drivers
If you installed audio drivers then meh
make sure to get drivers from windows update
Oh I meant the bios updates
Cause it said something about stability fixes and such, I was on a rather old version of it so I just updated it
And surprisingly nothing broke??
you say that but now you are getting microstutter lel
might want to clear cmos and re set everything
😭 Why me
because you can see the microstutter
I'll write down a checklist and go through it, see what else I can do
most folks pcs ive borrowed for a bit have microstutter but they dont care
Just on the off chance, what's your SSD?
sata or nvme
Never heard of that
shouldn't be a read/write issue if its nvme, unless drive itself is borked
oor if its dramless
but the kioxia there isnt dramless it seems
Not seeing anything wrong with the drive
Kioxia is fine
Isn't Kioxia just rebranded Toshiba lol
Yep
yeah, I've never really seen a dramless ssd for sale in stores here
I'd trust Toshiba, might just be me and japanese engineering
Culprit's prolly Windows
doubt, ive never seen a store without a wd blue
I wouldn't be surprised
Tbf the moment I got the new gpu I upgraded to windows 11 so there's no way to tell if it's the culprit
Idk
I'll write a checklist and go through it from least invasive to the most
actually tho are you on whql drivers?
might want to try ddu and not manually installing drivers
Not sure if there are any reported problems on just upgrading from 10 to 11
Instead of fresh install
windows update got the right drivers for my nano
the wd blues I've seen had it, but might not apply for all
gotta be careful,
wd has a controller that is dram shaped
shillest of the shills
Suck on these shillnuts
I just go on what the specs say 😅
this is dramless
cant always
folks bssing about how HMB is basically like having dram
@quiet tangleAre you having issues with just games?
The GW2 boost seems interesting
Like, just stuttering?
oh I've only seen the sata blues
BC other vendors suck at GW2 too
oh yea on sata the blues were excellent
on nvme its a problem thanks to HMB
Just stuttering, everything else runs as it's supposed to except the audio driver
Did you try running something like 3dmark to see if the card behaves properly?
It's even happening on minecraft with optifine and such
Maybe it's some bad silicon lottery luck
I did, still stuttered from time to time
Even after giving time for it to load shaders
But where did you fall in the 3dmark rankings for your system?
It was ages ago, I don't particularly remember
Minecraft is on openGL iirc, but you said you stutter on Siege and that's directx/vulkan
Really unsure what the problem is
Same
Like, reinstalling Windows and DDU'ing drivers again and again until it maybe improves seems like a solution
Siege hasn't stuttered at all for me, runs smooth except for new driver installations
Plenty seem to have
So it's fine on Vulkan but not directx or openGL
Nope wait
Anyone who plays siege should run the game on Vulkan
Just a far better experience
It's honestly fine, I appreciate the help but I reckon it's just bad luck honestly
If I go insane and lose my mind, I can always fork over my money to the man with the leather jacket
Btw does anyone update realtek drivers from their website?
Windows update generally works best
The customized drivers also leave off the low latency modes
I would probably check the motherboard manufacturers website for that
Wdym? The network driver I have is dated 2022. Doesnt seem to get patched via windows update. The newest one is nearly 1 year newer. Hmm.
but I haven't used the built-in audio on a motherboard in 15+ years at least now
What low latency modes?
Lower than 10ms
Ooh you mean audio prob?
Oh yea
So you get lower than 10ms via WU but not on their own site?
Are you stuck with a realtek nic?
Yeah Ive got a 2.5gbe nic
Sometimes yea
Mine has a 3.5ms mode that real can activate
You suck too
I always download my drivers from Intel or nvidias website, and disable everything else
For nics
Yeah that's prob easier imma try that
@ashen spindle, deckard copium?
What's going on with deckard
nothing currently
Kratos is racist though
He's offensive towards gods
Emo buff man with food colouring on his body goes on a rampage against religious folk to kill their gods
What a bigot
Due to the BTR15’s ability to work as a Bluetooth receiver and as a USB DAC, we have implemented a PC/BT/PHONE mode button on it. With just a click of a button, you can quickly switch between the three different modes to match your current scenario for listening to high-quality music.
New FiiO product
5.1... i'm not impressed or amused
what's the point of 5.1 when there are headphones out there which can easily take 5.3 LE?
lol
312 kB/s or 2 MB/s are a huge difference
400$ still for a miniled
thats only if you use sbc
and these try to make you avoide sbc
also LE audio is pretty awful for the moment
this unit can and does support 990kbps
LE audio maxes at 345kbps
...damn
ok
glad I hold...something around 1k shares
not as much as you'd think
besides
I didn't buy em at 100
represents a decent chunk of my savings and investing over the past decade
AMD is honestly a no-sell anytime soon
I can easily see them quintupling eventually
they're not a sell for at least the next few quarters
let's see if those prospective sales materialise
In AI AMD should do better than NV
yet they dont
They have better tech for AI, imo
its really a shame they forget to write the software to make use of the hardware properly
which sucks for consumer market but not as much for where that gets put
nah not just that
cublas gets about double the perf/flop vs aocl
and in ai, cublas can get even further ahead
then add in actual cuda, and the gap gets wiiiiide
which is what people get around to port things and make it run regardless and there will be cases where the raw hardware of mi300 will just beat whatever cuda tries to do
I wonder the use of Opus as a bluetooth codec is going to be more widespread, has a good reputation for sounding transparent at lower bitrates and is low latency.
Google implemented it but not much outside of that.
we will see more about it soon and then we know what it can really do or not
SC23 is this month and Ai day is dec 6
qualcomm just too much of a monopoly 😦
thats true, but theres a toooon of work to be done
but it is being done
is it?
you know its really bad when the libertarian ai crowd is buying nvidia to build servers
Also they should have made opus the standard instead of what they did with le audio.
It was an open codec already with a proven record lc3 just seems somewhat stupid.
believe its more about power used
lc3 is designed around hardware decode units being small and low power afaik
Opus can be used on low complexity / low power, they just tested it using an older version of opus when a more recent version improved things. Also their testing focused on very low bitrate voice instead of higher bitrate music.
low power on a cpu
but how easy is it to build a chip for it?
afaik it hasnt been done yet
well the best indicator will be what companies will amd show when presenting the mi300, that used to use nvidia or now use both
They choce it over opus for audio quality not resource usage.
however the tests themselves were a bit suspect.
they chose it because it was already implemented and ready for them, as well as having hardware encoders and decoders already in every modern chip
seems not then
It's apparently a ripoff of a series I've already read 😦
add it to the list
How TF has humanity figured out how to embed a tiny piece of plastic with 1.5tb of storage???
considering I have a 4TB M.2 in my grasp
technological innovation is to blame
curses
humans just keep improving tech
to think they ran a moon landing on what is effectively an abacus
it's the same as all flash storage devices
it's all about how densely packed you can make it
It’s the same as an SSD just no big cache or anything
its probably the same as the micron drive that is 30MB/s
SSDs have gotten so wonderfully cheap lately
I never would have dreamed of getting a 4TB SSD for less than what I paid for a 1TB...not too long ago
even if it is a slow gen 3 NVMe SSD, dang
HDDs really shouldn't be an option outside of data hoarders and NASes
what makes me really sad is how few cfexpress type a cards there are
and cameras that use it
GIGA-KVM
But $$$$
@prisma crag
Just got myself the "full frame" Sony 11-18mm!
Here it is at 10mm
But it actually is full frame coverage at 11mm
Just had to take out this doood
1 fewer mm for 1/10 the price of the Canon for the same aperture
You also don't get to have a lens hood
And the iq definetly requires correction
What beautiful straight lines 😦

he doesn't even name the deboucne setting of mice that have it
and then clumps together people that don't know what it is with people that have mice without a debounce setting (which is most mice)
well yea they have some kind of debounce programmed
doesn't mean you can adjust it as a user
some allow you to, but yeah, that's a rare thing
I'm not saying he should tell us what debounce algorithm they use, just what setting they are on if they have one
(especially since some firmwares don't actually scale 1:1 with debounce setting)
i mean most gamers simply don't fiddle around with the debounce anyways nor do they know what it is or does
but i get Lamzus point that Opt did a meh job of transparency
if optimum tech only does what most gamers do then why bother reviewing any mouse
especially something as niche as an ULX
A fuck ton of profit
Really like these visuals. Apple MADE $23B net profit this quarter…on almost $90B in revenue. In 3 months.
That said, centered around recent discussions, the Mac segment revenue was down 34% year on year, which is…a lot. And explains the rush to announce the M3 family of…
【QRT of App Economy Insights (@EconomyApp):】
'$AAPL Apple …
💖 15
34% down on Mac is a pretty big indicator for Apple that something needs to be done, no?
M3 doesn't seem like the solution
i think people just realized the m1 and m2 arent all too different so why buy again
id say m1 may macbooks may get some benefit from upgrading to m3 but the m2 to m3 difference is basically just like m1 to m2 was imo
but all of this will truly be shown when benchmarks are out
i would have been tempted if they did a 13" with touchbar but its actually dead now
Yeah in hindsight it makes sense why they still compared it to pre m1 macs
Because m3% ipc ain’t getting m2 owners to upgrade
It's ironic how the single most innovative thing to come out of Apple was quashed like that 😄
(Ignoring the ARM platform shift)
i see why the touchbar was removed but really loved it overall
It was the one thing design wise that really set them apart from everyone else. Everyone's got a Macbook clone these days with the super sharp, minimalist look.
yeah i can see that
Yeah it’s like intel 14th gen lol
There's always buyers for older Macs.
I swear we sold so many 2013? model Air and Macbooks back pre-covid. Refurbished with minimal scratches. It had become "the" laptop to own for any kind of post high-school student for better or worse.
Damn, what a partnership
Why Qualcomm though
Samsung makes sense since Exynos uses AMD's graphics IP
Qualcomm.. doesn't really have anything to do with AMD afaik
Unless this is a strategic partnership to enable Qualcomm to use AMD's FidelityFX technologies on the upcoming Snapdragon Elite processors and on smartphones
Since AMD's tech isn't really a thing on smartphones yet
Not upscaling
dlss is also more code than tech
Technically all toggleable tech is more code than hardware
well it can run without its just an ai network right
but yes we tend to build hardware to accelerate graphics tasks specifically
AMD I suspect will also tweak FSR to use AI
optimizing the math behind it
It doesn't
im unsure how gated it is software wise
It's hardware gated
We had this talk before, DLSS uses Turing's hardware at minimum, DLSS3 requires Ada hardware
well yes but in theory the ai models should be able to run on anything
just not as fast
FSR I hope will get some kind of AI mode since AMD finally caught up to CUDA and has AI cores
Big expectations for XDNA
id hope they keep software only and just have ai acceleration as an option
Thing is FSR2 is far different from ReShade just cause you know, it actually requires developer implementation lol
FSR1 was a cool portable upscaler, not great, not horrible
FSR2 isn't portable so more software doesn't use it
you need a lot more than just throwing some random xilinx IP on a gpu to say they caught up to cuda lmfao
XDNA is pretty alright though
And dlss uses the tensor cores so in its current form it would not run on any gpu, probably could be rewritten for lower performance though
Yes Xilinx did well before it got bought, that doesn’t mean suddenly rocm is equal to cuda
I'd argue that ROCm is potentially better than CUDA
Just needs support, which it doesn't
„This could be better than the other thing, if only they made it better“
Well, hard to make it better when better comes in many ways
AMD has done well so far to make ROCm actually a valid competitor
But software support costs a fuck ton more and AMD is rather not big
It is not better currently so what could be doesn’t matter for that
It’s not even about the academic learning path, that’s just a nice bonus
You can make them after but not if you don’t support older instinct cards, or 0 consumer cards
The current list of supported gpus is 2 consumer skus
Mi25 isn’t supported so Mi50 starts as the first option lol
Not wrong ngl
But hey it's lpdrr so it's better
it's not lpddr?
Apple knows that for its users it's either their way or the highway, and many are not going to take the highway
Apple uses soldered memory so it has to be lpddr?
wasn't it in silicon
It's on the SOC
I'd excuse them the pricing if it actually was on-die like HBM
Not the way it's right now
It's on the package, see this picture. You can see the DDR chips right next to the CPU
This does make it faster for productivity in some cases, but charging so much for real simple upgrades is ass
Apparently, the primary reason they needed to get the RAM chips on the package was for the GPU, as modern GPUs need insane amounts of bandwidth. Although the CPU does benefit in some circumstances it probably would've been on the board if the GPU wasn't such a bandwidth hog
You idiots
Stop following Apple's footsteps
Bad Prime. bad.
is nokia just a patent troll now
fair
But I bet it's an annoying expense to pay for the companies
its 15$ worth of titanium but you can squeeze big bucks out the marketing
free money as shown buy yours truly, the masters of overcharging
The marketing just keeps working so they won't stop
Samsung has been a nono for a while
is it bad that i like the new iphone

riser
You just know people are going to nickname it the rizzer
Cause you know... zoomer lingo
Pardon me, good sir, for correcting you
not "zoomer lingo" but "dictionary lingo"
It's in the dictionary, it's in the language
That is disrespectful towards all the senior citizens who go rizzing about in retirement homes
Just because the seniors got rizz doesn't mean calling it rizz isnt a zoomer thing
Well yes cause 10 is just better
I wish they could port all the scheduler improvements from 11
Tbf the article is just a mess cause it's just a steam hardware survey summary that isn't even representative of "preferences"
But I agree that 10 is just better
Yeah preference and what you get are different
different implies there are things that 10 has that 11 doesnt?
afaik the only advantage of 10 is being able to install it on everything under the sun
I was referring to the preference of mid-range over high-end
I don't think anybody prefers mid-range I think they can afford mid-range lol
Given the option most would choose high end lol
Also only posting this because the article image is amazing
The new AMD Polaris and Vega driver finally here Not dead and not forgotten. In September, when AMD released FSR3, HYPR-RX and Anti-Lag+ technologies, they decided it was time to do some housekeeping. The Polaris and Vega architectures are old, but they are not as old as the NVIDIA Maxwell architecture, which is still being […]
11 should have the mixed refresh rate monitor fix and better scheduler so 11 should just be better
hello!
Hi, penguin
That's Shinchan
I have no clue what that is
What
