yeah but its not in GA yet
Really all Nvidia continues to be on top of AMD in is software
AMD really needs to expand their divisions for this stuff
mi300 is amazing but you still cant say its ahead if it's not shipping to everyone yet
Roger, good thinking
AMD has been hiring but even with a good team it takes time to build up an ecosystem.
Be glad they weren't able to. Otherwise i would see us having heavy restrictions on everything that is ARM powered
Throwing people at the problem will not instantly fix things, it's a slower process
Well the problem is that as far as I understand, Nvidia is mostly focusing on a single GPU business
(with some ARM in there)
AMD has to divide their resources a lot more
And in general AMD is valued far lower than Nvidia are, so they have less cash in general
not to mention that they barely made any profit last year
Although it's really damn cool that AMD continues to be a pain in both NV's and Intel's sides and give us meaningful competition in some sectors
while NoVideo basically doesn't give a shit about money anymore. Their stock reached the 1B mark anyways
uhh in which quarter did they not make much profit?
I wonder if the ARM acquisition for NV would have meant opening up a new frontier in x86-64 CPUs
Probably not right?
no
They'd just continue to focus on the whole automotive / AI thing
that was one quarter, not the whole year
1.3 billion is a fuck ton of expenditure for 3 months
I think q3 was the only quarter at operating loss
That's mostly salaries right?
2021 was their best year by far
obviously, post pandemic sales drop and all
idk how this year will end since it depends when mi300a comes out since mi300x is next year anyway and so is zen5
RDNA4?
I wonder what kind of loss in R&D and production costs is Ada and RDNA3 for both companies
I seriously doubt that current gen consumer graphics cards will pay for themselves
gpu ip is not made for dGPUs so that doesnt really matter
and if arrow lake is really as bad as the intel estimates showed, that will cause so much pain with zen5
Anything we know on zen5?
zen5 focus is single thread performance
So AMD is going the Intel route?
well let me put it this way
https://www.anandtech.com/show/17031/anandtech-interviews-mike-clark-amds-chief-architect-of-zen this article is from october 2021
whether or not you like nvidia
read the last answer he gave to ian in that interview
Makes no sense
ill buy AMD when they have a DLSS competitor
they have a DLSS competitor?
what
do you have eyes?
You really have no clue about how actually good FSR is
dlss doesnt work well enough so I think the entire discussion is pointless but go ahead
I dont like either of the current options
Yeah I don't see the point of debating nvidia shills anyways
DLSS is clearly better
i have an AMD cpu
Cause benchmarks are DEFINITELY representative of gaming experience
benchmarks?
Ah yes, Nvidia CPUs
Visual quality that is not far from being on par
And doesn't matter anyways because you are playing a game
What, you play a game and go looking for visual artifacts instead of focusing on gameplay?
you know this in your heart
this is why im right
I dont use dlss on my nvidia gpu
if you played a game like cyberpunk or anything demanding with raytracing and valued input latency you would
I tried to use it with RT in control and the artifacts were just too much
so if I enable RT I do just some settings to not tank fps
bc dlss just makes it worse for me
on both versions its not worth it for me
AMD software development is just lacking unfortunately
i dont like nvidia as a company but i have to buy them if i dont want to compromise
To some extend yes, to some extrend they have to play catch-up. Then there is the driver ui which is generally the best of the 3.
I mean current high end is just nvidia that is true, doesnt really mean much for future gens
but this was all about future releases so current stuff doesnt matter as much
and if we want to got hat route we can start with how amd added low latencty before nvidia added NULL in their drivers
but cba discussing that today
anyway, @cursive summit to the original point, in 2021 lead architect was saying he wishes he could just buy zen5 and so far we aren't aware of anything that didnt work out
Unless you are on linux then good luck combining nvidia drivers with anything non nvidia
What does that even mean "buy zen5"
As in they liked it so much they can't wait for it to sample?
read the snipped I linked
As for secondary cards the igp is fine in most cases
Yeah I forgot about it, reading right now
Either way most somewhat sane linux gamers tend to avoid Nvidia
Do we have anything concrete though on the specs of zen 5?
Not saying AMD's drivers are perfect, far from it but it is a smoother experience.
no those are usually quite well kept secret, amd is good at keeping cpu leaks tight
but shouldn't be too long till we get the first info I guess
Until gamer's nexus goes into their testing facility and picks up a sample on camera
i wonder if GN is gonna cover LTT more lol
Have the CPUs with Zen4c come out yet?
I want to see the benchmarks if they work well
I want to see if AMD's implementation of "big/little" sort of, is better than Intel's
yes it is by a mile lol
you will get them in apus but they dont come with the issues e-waste cores had but you still get the big cores primarily
zen5 will likely give you a good option
from 5800X
so early/mid nexty year
reflex does nothing unless you're gpu bound and you shouldnt if you want to minimize latency anyway

im not looking forward to ram overclocking and stability testing again
or curve optimizer stability testing
god damn
wat
well by then the expo kits hopefully matured a bit so less trouble there
and it's the same IOdie so it should not bring any new issues that need time to be found
though I guess for gaming zen5x3d would be better and I got no clue if that has a delayed release still
so that might be second half 2024
neat
wait im tired
this can take weeks
also Curve Optimizer you have to run overnight for weeks
oh yeah I know it can take a while
on the other hand you likely can copy settings for zen4 and start from there
will i be able to sleep at night not minmaxing everything
life would be easier
its just how fucking long stability testing takes, after any changes
amd has server engineers getting bored so they fix client issues you mean
but for now I just hope amd does what the leaks suggest and intel can do better because I do prefer competition over one sided victories if I consider my poor wallet
me waiting for my Wooting 60HE and Artisan pads
x`Waits the best part
i have like the best of everything basically as far as im concerned after this
PC related
i mean i could have a more up to date pc
but monitor, chair, keyboard, mouse, mousepad, pc case, fans, like all taken care of
What chair?
Embody
people will argue by Samsung G7, i want 1440p 240Hz VRR and contrast ratio better than TN or IPS with equal to better response time
If it's not OLED
OLED burns in
Then you're not at the best 😛
i can buy it
Nah
yes
i will burn it in lol
G7 is as good as LCD gets rn
HDR is a joke non OLED unfort
have had this alienware since it first released and used it daily for gaming+ home office work
we need microled
it's not a single burned in pixel yet
Some LCDs have real good super bright HDR, but yeah OLED is just so nice at those near black contrasts
HDR "zones" are stupid imo
ill just be SDR as long as LCD
LCD HDR works by having like 512 zones etc
OLED every pixel is a "zone"
its big cope
Depends on the scene being viewed. I mean yeah if it's tiny pinpoint like stars it doesn't do to well, but it can do well in most other scenes
LCD HDR can have more then 512 zones, but it does raise the costs a lot
everything is cope until MicroLED
also Fractal Design North is based case
buy it
big cases with empty space are cringe
Worst thing is 8-16 zone LCD HDR that’s just vertical lines, though I guess it can be used to view 4:3 movies without so much of a border
I mean in a lot of Destiny 2, LCD HDR 1000 nits was amazing with G9 Neo. It's leaps and bounds better then SDR
OLED though is another step beyond that though it can't get as bright
also EQ your headphones or IEMs to Harman
EQ your headphones to whatever you want
Harman Target
Y
or something close to it
Harman for iems is a not that well accepted, works fine for me but in general the sample size of their tests were rather small
its a baseline, shouldnt be wildly off anywhere
invert it, and itll sound real shit
do complete opposite lol
I move to the Harman target, then modify things bit from there.
It's a good starting point usually
definitely, just saying the IEM target specific is not as universaly proven as the headphone standard and iem reviewers deviate from it, mostly by a bit lower base
also this is important for a lot of monitors on nvidia https://github.com/ledoge/novideo_srgb/releases
if youre not using your own colorimeter and shit calibrating
for monitors with nonproper srgb modes
this is usually perfect
clamp
IEM's also have larger differences between people in terms of how they're perceived. Still it's probably better than whatever profile the average iem is tuned to.
i guess my mic prob sucks but idc
i have no reason to research and spend $1000 on a mic setup
Microphones can get pretty accurate at a pretty low price.
on what
Watch that be a single microphone
interface
found the extra cost heh
I have been thinking about getting an interface so I can hear myself and properly set it up tbh
i wonder how many have done this to talk to their 1 viewer on twitch
can't you configure loopback in windows sound device settings as well if you wanna hear yourself
with how much I hate people never checking how they sound or are not understandable it would put me at ease to know they can hear me fine
it's a pain because it constantly changes audio settings due to VR headsets
meanwhile tyler1 mic
and meta software is made by the devil when it comes to audio settings
breaks everything
a 10€ mic is more than fine for voip chatting imo
I have that exact one myself but there's the zm-mic1 for some 8€ that's 90% of the way there
if you can set it up so I dont hear constant noice or keyboard sounds or stuff and I can hear you while the game plays sure
some people I have at 200% and I just can not hear them during raids
Yeah I used that one for a while, required 100% vol and +20dB boost and hope that the voice chat thing has noise reduction (they all do)
yeah if that works, doesnt work for all cases
hey, it's like under 10 bucks
I still have one of those laying around used it for quite a long time
Worked well enough for quite a few years, although had to solder on a new cable because the wires inside broke
i got one of those antlion modmics
yt videos seem to indicate they are just fine
now I have a neewer nw800 for some years.
except the better quality omnidirectional capsule randomly died someday
I'd use one like that if my headphone cable went to the same place as my mic cable
but it's inconvenient having the mic plug into the pc and headphones into an amp
since the amp is on the table and pc on the floor
But tubes
distortion and coloration
lmao
I understand people using it, realistically it does not degrade sound too much but it definitely looks classy
i dont understand that
you literally just agreed it degrades sound but looks nice
what are those priorities lol
Tubes look nice yo
Hey I don't use one, but that would still be a reasonable argument
ok i will buy a tube amp and only plug in the power
and use something else for audio
then i can look at something that looks nice
while not ruining audio
And maybe some prefer how they sound, I want to try tubes
Yep, that's the thing is that it's all personal preference
I do turn up staturation a bit on my steam deck though.
except there is objectively accurate color reproduction, and theres not
Hey a lot of people seem to like saturation that "pops"
Same goes for sound, an amp's job is simply to reproduce the input at a higher volume
which tubes dont do, they add distortion/coloration
warmth
fuzz
Definitely, just saying the correct argument for them is they like the looks.
altering the signal
Actually tube amps should make the sound harsher
Well games may not be made for the higher gammut so I guess it depends on the game.
and person.
most content is mastered for sRGB
you should be calibrated/clamped to 100% sRGB
usually
or as close as possible
Still unclamping it in games especially more stylized ones could still look better.
if you dont want to see what the artists intended i guess
make orange look red etc
Of course there is nuance in it but still there could definitely be cases where it just looks better.
HDR is going to work on linux at some point in the near future, just need a screen that can actually use it.
so a microled 14.6" panel is $2,400
wonder how long til 24-27" under $2000
within 5 years?
thatd be nice
the 90" panels are $100,000
WAIT
i misread, theyre projecting $2,400 for 14.6" in 2027
jeebus
its 5.8k to 10k right now
im going to be so old
fuck
Get OLED now, and then replace it with MicroLED when that releases maybe?
i feel like id burn it in within a year or two or less
it's hard to extrapolate, some techniques come down in cost fast at some point, some just keep falling slowly, some just don't get much better from a certain point onward
a surprise would be nice but did you see how god damn long OLED monitors took
maybe microled could be faster cause they realize it solves the burn in problem
My screen is at like 3600 hours or so no burn in
Let me check the exact hours
pretty sure RTings and others have done tests
its supposed to be like an inevitable part of the technology
organic decay
yes they run a news cast with a literal static image on there 24/7
ive seen some user reports as well
did they just get magically weaker oleds?
i dont understand
well, it honestly depends on the generation of an OLED screen. The early ones were prone to have burned images. My Note 8 i.e. had the UI of Discord burned into it
Brightness is a key factor here
yeah it still exists, just if you don have actuall still frames, not extreme brightness and do the pixel refresh it's not that big of an issue
if you push the oled closer to it's peak the life goes down expodentially.
3590 hours
qdoled isnt the solver of all issues but well enough that I can say I recommend it for people who consider it
id have to just multimonitor tbh
which maybe
oled monitor only for games and movies
bit annoying though
i always want what im mainly looking at, in front of me, so have to move them constantly i guess
rtings even states in their testing that they do this in order to show an absolute worst case scenario that the vast majority of people don't go through. It's mostly done to try and find who has the most durable OLEDs
How expensive are QD-OLEDs and minileds nowadays anyways
minileds look cool

Nvidia Has a Driver Overhead Problem, GeForce vs Radeon...
miniLEDs are a backlight technology, so the cost really depends on how fine the HDr zones are
i could prob burn a crosshair into my monitor tbh
black outline, pure bright middle
static as can be
I like the rog nebula minileds, really really saturated colors
I am not keeping careful track, but as far as I know Samsung is using QLEDs as it owns the tech, and it might be selling on to other manufacturers
A bit expensive cause the laptops that get it are like 3000$
But they look hella good
VESA DisplayHDR 1000
Do you play just one game?
Most monitors now do have multiple bits of tech like pixel shifting, and darkening static elements
Is there really much of a sizeable difference between HDR1000 and HDR1400?
Astonishing they managed to fit that into a laptop display. I have a G9 Neo which also uses miniLED, and it's heavy as shit
i played valorant a lot
and just realized the crosshair is like a worst case scenario element
black border bright as can be middle, for contrast
dead center
obv
would be an annoying spot for burn in
So in theory pixel shifting and darkening would help prevent the burn in
if i was rich id just buy a new one like every year or two and be careless lmao
thats some millionaire shit tho
consumables
well you have 3 year burn in warranty from dell and others
I decided to grab a G9 OLED, I am being careful with it by powering it on only during gaming sessions, I'll tell you how it goes
nobody is even mining anymore
I think a similar article was linked before, but yeah more IBM inventions with no real world value
HDR1000 vs 1400, is about a 40% difference, but the human eye is a very contextual kind of processor, and a bit logarithmic in how it sees things. Provided a HDR 1400 monitor can still get as dark as a HDR1000 one you would see a noticeable difference I think. With the G9 Neo a monitor rated to go up to 1400 nits I found that when things got bright during a game I would need to squint, it was cool. However I did find that it struggled with darker contrasts which most LCDs do
What is the point of going up to 600 nits let alone 1400
It's brighter
I have my whole life been happy with 350, when I had 250 before
350 is great
What's the point of going over the top
contrast
Are you using OLED?
hdr400 is basically useless
Only OLED I have is an LG CX
maybe ill go OLED when my monitor dies idk
My display is a regular nanoIPS QHD
3000:1 doesnt make me want to completely off myself
Yeah HDR400 is useless
HDR600 is when HDR starts to look better
However it's only at HDR1000 and beyond when it really punches you with that High Dynamic Range
OLED of course is different as it's super good at darker colours, but LCDs struggle. So a HDR LCD performs best when you throw brighter scenes at it and you are in a bright room so your eyes aren't adjusting to see it crush blacks
if only IPS existed, 1000:1, i'd prob have got OLED by now
With some proffesional equipment that just layer LCD screens, one on top of the other. This allows for HDR, but costs a lot to implmement as you are now essentially buying two monitors instead of one
My IPS has 1,000:1 advertised contrast and it looks good af
But not really worth spending 5x more for
For you, but for others with more disposable income or a stronger obsession with their games it can be.
I mean for some going beyond the 720P display they bough back in the 2000s isn't sensible when it still works. Even if they are playing modern games on it
IRC most gamers are still playing 1080P?
Raytracing in android games 🤢
Never have I seen a tech as useless as raytracing
It'll only ever be useful when the performance catches up
damn, guess every single game is useless then
I still prefer cubemaps lol
not everything in raytracing is for real time reflections and GI
I am very aware
Real time pathtraced and raytraced rendering are just way too early
Hardware is not there to support it in gaming scenarios
For workloads is amazing, incredible
But for gaming it's a massive marketing drive for tech that is a decade away from being usable with no drawbacks
Although I do like the Counter Strike 2's Hammer editor real time shader simulation, that is actually sick
:/
:\
Sucks nobody seems to have videos showcasing their configs for wootility. There are some for the Swiftpoint Z and many for the Steam Controller.
I wonder if companies like HP put lawsuits and fines under cost of revenue
Almost every video (mainly 60he) only review the software barely. They don't have fun testing.
Configs aren't really important lol
I think they can be neat to watch
just lot of personal prefernce
Exactly why they are left out
Pick a profile that someone else did from profiles.wooting.io and use that
On what?
yeah when they break something again and I need to fix it
On youtube
Once again into the world of Minecraft. Punching wood, getting iron. This time, with a whole new way of controlling it all.
Try out the config here: steam://controllerconfig/minecraft/1633479002
Announcement! The config I posted here is different than the one in the video, because of some edits suggested by a viewer. This one now automatic...
I do not understand why Steam made this
Five bucks? No. 99 cents.
And it's because of transaction fees in countries where the currency is already bottom bin terrible.
Like Turkey.
But it applies to DLC
What suspect
suspicious
Whatever suspicious or not, definitely unreasonable change. That's not their business to set a limit on it, and they cannot profit a lot from it even after years if there will be further restrictions. What if they are trying to touch the red line?
Most of the time such a low price only makes sense to resell trading cards
D L C
For dlc the question remains why make it paid at all at that price?
Or maybe you could bundle
That's not their business to set a limit on it
uhh it literally is their business to provide the software by distributing it, hosting it etc.
I could think of songs in a rhythm game but the cases are very niche and considering the transaction fees in game paid currencies may just be the better option for such small transactions.
also if you would read this is nothing new they are merely adjusting the already existing price to local conversion rates
Either way I see no problems with it
ok just hope Valve won't adjust it again
I mean for what, resisting user abuse the ability to change region? If it is true, then no problem.
it's literally just adjusting stuff for local currencies like anything else with regional sales does, so yes most likely to stop transaction fees when conversion rates would make it <0.01$ or such
I wonder if steam was better when greenlight was around
Was better when it was just the games Valve selected, getting your game on Steam was prestigious back then
I think the current model is fine, everything is allowed and the way games are promoted to the front page works reasonably fine
Things were a lot harder for smaller indie titles before
Hello tech people
Friend is looking for a windows laptop for gaming
That is at least 120, preferably 144hz
Has a numerical keyboard
And is the best performance you can get under 3k€
And like it shoudlnt look to weird or be too thick
razer blade or so probably
I make gaming laptop reviews & comparisons to help you pick the right tech!
I aim to go the extra mile with detailed testing and accurate benchmarks, so if that sounds like the type of content you're interested in then join our community!
I also run the gaminglaptop.deals website to help you find the best price on your next gaming laptop!
can probably get an ampere gpu in the <3k models I;d guess
Asus zepherus
They didn’t like the look
lenovo legion?
I was looking at that one but doesn’t have a numpad
Nor do razer blades I am afraid
then just look at online list of anything at 3k€ and see what works
the blade I had last week from work had one
why laptop instead of a desktop with that budget?
Just a quick look you could squeeze a 4080 based model in but it will be a thick and ugly hp omen or clevo.
Generally the numpad is going to get you 17inch ones and those are generally thicker
but that had a 4080
I also personally at that price range would exclude anything with less than 32gb ram, that would just be silly at this point
I mean I cant seriously recommend a gaming laptop so I dont question people and just point them somewhere that works
Just saying his requirements are a bit contradictory, wants something thin but wants effectively a 17inch which are generally thick.
Also an option to look at is on the configurators of the major manufacturers, you can get some pretty decent options there.
https://www.czc.cz/msi-vector-gp68hx-12vh-046xcz-cerna/374431/produkt rtx 4080 and its just 2400€
This looks pretty good
That is not good
@astral haven looks like something you will be able to answer
@shadow minnow
Better CPU and everything else
Too big I am afraid, 15-16” is acceptable
From what they said
Got any other recommendations?
Define inches
A modern slim 17 is smaller than an old 15
take the laptop and a saw and put it into 16" then if 17 is too much
Why are you afraid
Voices in my head
You sure 17" is not possible?
May be possible
But in that case full hd
May be too little
From what they said
RX4090-17EU25
Slap a 100 euros extra and you get a 4090
4080 -> 4090 is a massive jump
even for mobile?
Too much I am afraid, to me it shows 3200€
How come you need a laptop
Nice
Like the jump from 4070 to 4080 is massive
4080 to 4090 is also a big improvement
Except for when it isnt
And when is that?
4090 mobile is essentially a desktop 4080 and 4080 mobile is kind of a 4070(Ti)
Depending on power limits
When the power limits are different
A 4080 can be faster than a 4090 as long as the 4080 is allowed to use more power and is better cooled
just.. have him use a price comparison tool?
You still in UK?
What price comparison tool :/
The absolutely cheapest 4080 I saw was from amazon.co.uk https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-G614JZ-i7-13650H-GeForce-Windows/dp/B0BNQV2KR1/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=rtx+4090+laptop&qid=1692466006&sr=8-2
not where ever your friend is located
I think the msi one is better for that price
Slovkaia
Gigabyte I linked is what you should be looking at
It’s too big for full hd sadly
I'd still consider adding like 150 extra and getting a 4090
Will last like 10 years +
Prolly a fake listing anyways
NEED GONE
what mods should I make to my stock wooting 60he?
Please don't post the same question in multiple channels
my bad
@ashen spindle thats all info I need tbh
also let me show cpu + gpu power usage which is quite nice
render scale 50% dropped gpu power usage by half hehe
50% at 4k?
eh I'd say being able to see your opponent without them being pixelated is helpful
It is bad to run at 100% if you care about things like heat or if you want to keep your watthours low
Who gives a fuck about that lol
I’ll trade a little bit of heat for much more performance
It's easier to lower settings if you care about power
I always run 100% render res just because the lower you go it's going to make the game far less visually clear at larger distances
and in overwatch if you change your contrast setting you can make your game visually "appear" to look better with lower settings
I get 100 % gpu util at 100% scale, ofc its bad
they changed the bottom skates ever so slighty that people can't use their old skates on them
Lmfao

1080p
ew
@gusty kiln Well, the gtx 1060 is at 100 % gpu utilization at lowest settings 😄 OW too hard
PTFE? i thought we were trying to get rid of PFAS stuff
gotta go %50 render scale
Just run it at max it’s an old card
Render scale is like linear gpu util % setting for me
I can go 70% so its 70% thats good enough
amazon.de has awesome collection of uhmwpe tape. ppl are covering their ptfe feet with those
wow really nothing above 200fps
what does the 1440p look like
my 2080 starting to struggle for highrefresh 1440p
looks like 7900XT and up only makes sense to me
yeah
shrug, 4090s should get loads more than 200 fps
4080 would be so nice at 800-900
It’s like trying to run a Miata in an uphill touge
Fun, but you can’t expect good performance
I mean my 1060 gets 300+
in OW2
one of the best optimized fps in decades
the benchmarch chart is probably all AAA games
not esport games

yea sega ports basically
Just get so busy nowadays so don't have time to sit at the desk even though i have a 3080 😅
A handheld would be perfect for me at this point of life just to start playing those Indie games
I have the ROG Ally now and I kinda like it.
Yeah that's the one i've been eyeing, what do you think of it?
next gen is gonna be so much bigger
Turned 30 this year so thought it's time to treat myself to something
40cu vs 12cu
Yeah that's one of the reasons what's holding me back
But it's a long time to wait
I've been pet sitting today which also included feeding some hedgehogs so with having an Ally would've been nice today but eh it's good to read a book sometimes 🦔
Where do you see this
rewmorz
https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-ryzen-8000-strix-point-apu-said-to-feature-4xzen5-with-8xzen5c-cores-strix-halo-using-16xzen5 It has probably been shared before but yeah
AMD Strix Halo similar to a desktop CPU with more graphics-capable IO die The upcoming AMD next-gen APU series, based on the Zen5 architecture, is rumored to adopt a hybrid design, combining Zen5 and Zen5c codes. However, the specific configuration of these chips has not been officially confirmed yet. Reports about the AMD Strix APU […]
Cute hedgehogs, should post them in #🐱│pets
but we wont get halo in a handheld I bet
power draw too big so regualr strix more likely
why isnt it possible
custom sku maybe but you need it in lower power envelope so you likely just are wayy to gpu heavy with such a sku
I know but halo is a massive one
then again zen5 would do a lot of the lifting hmm maybe
Design "1 chip" "2 chip"
tf is this supposed to mean
its smaller than the 7600m nvm incorrect
marketing talk to pretend 1 instead of 2 chips is better?
there's also the (sony) in the name
does it have a sony display?
its the size of a 6800m which is a bit large but its still doable
vision pro is sony yes
also remember lpddr cuts a ton of the power off vs gddr
https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_reportedly_working_on_1inch_50mp_200_320_and_440mp_sensors-news-59601.php
holy mackerel samsung
maybe, idk how well it scales to lower power, bw from lpddr vs gddr and all
Sad that they're going with the Exynos chips in certain markets (Maybe this time they're better)
they should make a gigapixel super35 sensor
well they are going back to it for some reason
It's cheaper
its incredibly expensive to make those chips
Snapdragon are more expensive than Exynos
But it's "better" for the consumer with more competition
not to samsung
it costs samsung money to develop the exynos
they could just develop fewer exynos
Yeah but they pay royalties to Qualcomm
Yeah, maybe but by making their own chips they'll save money
they hope
Don't know if they have some deal for the "custom" Qualcomm chips for Samsung devices
its actually a long term gamble
Yes
see they will lose more money from developing the chip than they will save from switching cpus
Yeah
but then qualcomm will lower prices for next gen and they are hoping the money they save there will be more than they lose from devving the cpu this gen
- with the plan to license gpu ip they dont need to develop that themselves or pay for gpu core design
which longterm is likely also cheaper
if they can properly implement it unlike the first attempt
as is rockchip
and from a license point they can be quite certain that amd will make a suitable IP since that is what consoles and apus need so there is not reason to suspect amd woukd stop making an ip that samsung can use
Which devices are using Rockchip?
noone yet but they are improving
Ok👨💻👍
hoping to get a good deal on an S23U when the S24U releases
Will probably get a good enough deal at Black Friday/Cyber Monday
Or just.. buy a battery for 15$?
if Tensor 3 is way more efficient, I may consider
Hoping for it
would definitely be cheaper than an S24U
Yeah but according to Gsmarena the Pixel 7 Pro have worse battery life than the 7 which sucks so if this trend continues it'll be the same for 8/pro
As in the battery capacity is different?
Or just the SoC is far more juiced up so it sucks more
SoC is pretty similar to exynos
7 Pro have an endurance rating of 83h vs 7 at 96h and 7a have 76h
Other than the price of the smartphones
The SoC on the Google phones is so bad compared to snapdragons I really have no clue why you would want one
just hoping it gets better by Tensor 3
Yep more competition
Soul for a soul type of situation
Isn't 6A still the OG Pixel with a headphone jack?
Or was it 4A
YouTube has ambient mode on Fullscreen now
You sure this doesn't go to game talk?
7 is 449
6A doesn't have jack ;_;
I think 5A did
youtube is a game now?
^?
I wish my phone had a jack anytime I get sent a fucking voice call and I can't be assed to pair my bt earbuds
Sounds like laziness

that and no wires can contain me
You know what pisses me off about wireless? My bluetooth 5 buds start losing connection when I put my phone in my pocket
I would still have wired over wireless forever
Anytime I use the wireless in my car
And then try to use my wireless buds
The buds never automatically connect to the phone when I open the case like they are meant to
I have to go into the system settings and click on them to get them to connect cause the phone is still looking for the wireless in the car because that's the last connected device
Considering how tall you are, not shocked

And yeah the constant pairing issues
Bluetooth Wireless doesn’t work over a kilometre
Like, I would always just take wired
dongle and use the cable?
Considering the distance between my pockets and ears is about the equivalent of a statue of liberty... yes
Can't use dongle
It doesn't work for some reason
get a non broken dongle
Misconfigured android settings it could be
Might not be detecting the dongle as an audio source
Hmmm ............
Broken dongle or factory reset the device
I sent a screenshot of the message it gave me a while back on here
There's good & bad dongles
How can i cancel my order
Of all places to ask that question, it's here
Dangle
Dengle
Dingle
Dongle
Dungle
Although knowing how the reputation of incompetence precedes Lana, I don't doubt it's their own fault

Trying to find the screenshot I sent
About the message it shows if you use a dongle
It's not even on the home screen
Shows as notification xf

actual good tech tips
good tv stuff, juvenile humor with deadpan delivery
Oh yeah this guy is nice
He is nice, if only I cared about tv reviews.
also monitors sometimes unless i misremember
The new razer 75% keyboard is looking solid
looks nice but i believe it voids the warranty if you open it
yeah im against those stickers
Looking shit cause you need to deal with the hell that is razers software
one of the reasons why i got the w2he, is because of the software
Yeah! It's so clean
And does not need an account
Or running constantly in the background
And doesn't look like crappy gamer themed
The keyboard itself good but the razer software is annoying
Yeah that's what I said
yeah im a big fan of the web based wootility, i dont like having many things open on my computer to be honest
And both the wooting and razer are the same price for me
wootility FTW! i wish they would make a mouse so i could ditch the razer software. im a DeathAdder addict unfortunately
One of the reason why I stopped buying from razer used to have a razer mouse but the software is bad
all peripheral software suite are the same
gets the job done
is the keys on the web site the same and work the same as if i got a 60 he
my update keeps failiong and its an unkown error
any ideas
wooting and zaunkoenig dont require you to bs with software at all, full customization without any downloads!
You download the webapp for your browser
you can
or you can just visit it as a website without downloading it to your storage
Wat
Desktop app does work better sometimes though
But most will be served nicely with the webapp
What...
6000 series card?
Crinacle's IEM list has finally updated
finafuckingly
Lists like that are silly TBH
Another dreadful take
Do you think he's the most knowledgeable person or something
People really be listening to anyone with a YouTube channel
Imagine if he talked to a real audio engineer
Doesn't change the fact that the lad has personally listened and tested over 1000 IEM pairs and made his audio preferences clear for the rest of us
I bet you have never seen let alone 10 pairs in your life
There's people with like a hundred mice and fifty mouse pads and they're silver in valorant
It serves a purpose, to inform you of products and give you measurements so that YOU can then seek out those products and test/buy them
that last point is very important, what he prefers is not the same as what you would prefer
When you would have never heard of that product before
Guess what, testing doesn't lie
His personal preference might influence some ratings, but just click on the damn FR graph and figure out if you like what you are seeing
ik lol i mean thats why he is a good reviewer
The whole damn thing isn't a buyers guide
Yeah exactly, actual smart people learn how to read the data
Instead of listening to what someone else has to say
It's a list of products for you to figure out what is up to your preference and then seek them out
If you have no clue about audio, there's the grade rating
If you are buying budget, there's the star rating
i just got his reds because I wanted an upgrade from kz zs10s
If you are looking for a specific tonal signature, Crinacle always provides the signature of the IEM
It's not a BUYER'S GUIDE
It's a "this is the 1000s of IEMs I have ever listened to, find which one you like"
exactly
How the fuck can you call that "silly" is beyond ignorant and another shite take
I mean
If you can't read then we have no need for a conversation
It's a reference point, he lays the foundation, you do the rest
So you have something to go off of
Audio is finnicky business, Crin does a hell of a job for the rest of us
I'm really digging his reds
everything is just so much clearer and i can really locate footsteps
i heard a song that ive listened to a bunch of times and heard things i didnt hear before lol
Nobody agreed with you lol
Okay so you do want to take the list as the objective Holy Grail?
That was never the original argument
You're not disagreeing with me so you are agreeing with me
Why were people excited that he updated his list?
"Lists like that are silly TBH"
You need to hear he says something is good to be able to buy or not?
Uhh.. no they are not
Because people don't have thousands on dollars to spend of IEMs just to try them out
And are happy when someone else does it for them
Buying something just to return the item is risky and a bother
Measurements are infinitely more valuable than any opinions
... what do you think Crinacle's IEM database is..
The tier list was linked
Now listen to me, son
You pick an IEM, that has a specific requirement you like
And you click on it
OH MY GOD
MEASUREMENTS
Thousands of them
Yes
It's cool he's not an amp tard
And realizes things like the Apple dongle are fine
Better than that tube amp guy who was in here the other day
Imagine spending like $200 or more on something worse than a $10 dongle
The audio industry thrives on people thinking more money equal better
thats like every industry ever lol
Not really as bad
Like the monitor industry or usually getting something for your money for sure etc
People actually pay attention to the objective measurements more from places like RTings
Not every industry is as full as of much snake oil
Or having as many people fall for it
Is the Truthear Hexa better than the Truthear x Crinacle Zero?
Hexa is in theory supposed to be the best buy under 150$
Also heard some like the Letshuoer S12
Until Timeless and such
Ok 👨💻
I have a Hexa, and I haven't really used it much
Didn't buy it for myself anyways
I mean, it's fine
id say get the red
It's 70$ or so and it shows, but it sounds alright
for $55 youll be more than happy
which ones
Then there's the Linsoul 7Hz Salnotes Zero and Chu II at the cheap segment (Probably better alternatives around)
Waiting for Cambridge Audio to release their new TWS buds
I don't think they confirmed any new ones but Melomania Touch I think is EOL now
Melomania Touch is, for me, incredible top tier buds
Rivals my headphone rig in tonality, just lacks the obvious soundstage
Hmm ok 🤔
Like seriously I can go from headphones to TWS and not feel much difference
Incredible buds
Which is all the sadder they are so unknown
cheap
20$ is cheap
Yeah might order them with a few other IEMs once they get to Amazon De
Also checked that the S23U has the same battery capacity(5000mAh) as the 7 Pro & the S23U has an endurance rating at 126h compared to the 7 Pro at 83h
Google is not the way
That Tensor G3 better step it up
But it'll still probably be behind the latest Qualcomm chips
Yeah G3 might use the same bad modem chip in them too
Any microphone recommendations? reqs: 3.5 mm, low profile, lavalier/lapel/on-desk, cheap
currently using zalman zm-mic1 and its dying
Dirt cheap indeed
You are too
im considering switching to amd from intel. Wanna get the 7800x3d. Should i take the Asus b650E-I or x670E-I and why should i take the one over the other?
look at what usb and other ports you need and how many ncme slots etc.
https://samsontech.com/products/microphones/usb-microphones/meteormic/ Have had one of these forever and it's been good enough for my use case (Probably better/cheaper options than this)
Meteor Mic is a portable USB studio condenser microphone that records directly to your computer.
Too much USB
but ty anyway
Ordered this anyway https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Conference-Microphone-Portable-Omnidirectional-Computer/dp/B07V747KTT
prob same as https://www.audio-technica.com/en-eu/atr4697
Specification: Material: metal. Colour: black Model: EY-510 Sensitivity: -30 dB ± 3 dB Directional effect: omnidirectional Output impedance: ≤2.2kΩ Sensitivity range: within -3 dB at 1 V. Working voltage: 5 V/25 mA. Power: 125 MW. Frequency response: 20Hz-16KHz SNR: 84 dB 3.5 mm binaural straight...
yeah not sure this is the best if you plan to game and talk
these kinds of mics kinda wanna pick up everything in the room but maybe AI noise reduction does the trick
I had the zalman on my desk for 10 yrs should be better than that?
I don't know, should it?
would've just gotten another zm-mic1 since it's half the price and known to be solid 😀
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/linus-tech-tips-youtube-controversy-1.6940087 now national news are on it

Don't give that muppet any publicity
BossFTW has been the lowest level of disgrace for what, a decade now?
ok i don't know it before sorry
And here I thought the ESRB was fucking optional and not enforced by law.

Apple NAND chips were found in cheap knock-off SATA SSDs
I didn't even know Apple makes their own NAND
they dont
Apple makes as much their own nand as Nintendo made the CPU on the nintendo switch.
I guess they are just Hynix ones rebranded to Apple
Hey everyone. I am a dedicated K+M player and wooting keyboard gets detected as a controller (I guess) when playing DOOM [2016]. Some of the button prompts in menus are in consolespeak unless I disable the controller support completely from wootility side. With gamepad support on, it's not possible to navigate the map.
I wonder if anyone found a different solution than disabling gamepad altogether?
In wootility, this doesn't work?
Also, all technical queries go to #1019755933959733258
As I said, this worked. But I wanted to know if there is any other solution because this is clunky (having to change keyboard settings [not profile settings] is less than optimal).
third party software called (HidHide)
https://github.com/nefarius/HidHide/releases
can hide devices from certain software or all software
use full these siltation's
(edited for better link)
I thought support center was shut off? If it's not, I'll go there, thanks.
Recycled from phones
They reuse the nand when they recycle boards
they should let that shape die and go back to egg shape
I want a G9x, but this makes tons of money for em
Can't blame a company for sticking with what makes money
yeah but its not much of an upgrade
im however arguing from a consumer side as I have no logitech stock
FM on the other hand dropped ~ 15-16 g weight from SL-12, upgraded sensor, added 8khz wireless
isnt that mouse like one of the most popular? 😛
i still have my g9x
they made it 2k only? lol
the plastic rubber coating has went to shit though
and they changed the feet, haha i bet people are happy about that
making all skates they bought useless
and they made it 3g lighter lolz
what a accoplishment
feels more like an v1.1 rather than v2.0 😛
I have no regrets switching to a Pulsar X2 Mini 52g with SuperGlides. The side buttons are WAYYYY Better, the form factor is super nice, and glass feet are awesome. Only thing my superlight has that the X2 mini doesn't is better battery life.
thats a large preview
That's great, but we still need to do that in order to get our Facebook accounts back and such.
I've only sent a pic of my driver/provisional license to revolut
just because it's the most average (popular) of the casual market, doesnt make it good? 😛
Maybe not, but it would make it a dumb decision to cancle it. 😛
From a money making perspective
That also explains the new version, they can charge more for it 😛
Hm I dont know. mx518 was a big seller for a long time wasnt it?
Im sure the G pro will catch up tho
The competition today is also greater i think
so many brands
Not sure about that either, the console market is huge today 😄
Yea i guess thats true
Sure, but again I'm not logitech CEO so I'm not arguing FOR them :p
yep
u can say that about almost all big companies 😄
I mean technically you can consult PMM for a custom one that uses the G305 PCB :p
Don’t know if you consider a range of different shapes an upgrade though

This review and benchmark of the Fractal Terra (Jade) Mini-ITX case looks at the build quality, the ease-of-installation features, cable management, and design qualities of the new small form factor (SFF) case from Fractal. We also deploy our hemi-anechoic acoustic testing chambe...
Oh damn
Not at all expected content
Tbf I ended up not buying the Terra
Terra went up in price as I was going to show the list to someone, from 230$ to 270$ at which point it's just a horrendous deal
Went with SSUPD Meshlicious which is as far as I have seen a far better case for an ITX build in terms of thermals
Also can fit a full 330mm and I think even 340mm card
I do really like the wood accents on Terra
But come on, this is also sexy
Meshy is nice too
Meshroom S is also quite good
But that Jade Terra is just so nice
I went with as cheap as I can for a good quality case
Meshlicious was like 110$
Meshroom S is a lot more expensive
Yeah
The meshify 2 is one of my favorite cases, and it's also on the cheaper side
The focus 2 is also really nice
Fractal always out here releasing bangers
I'd assume that means with a radiator and without one
I am guessing if you want to keep front fan it's only 306mm clearance
Which is.. pretty bad
Meshlicious is phenomenal in the fact that you can use 1)ATX power supply
- 260mm AIO
- Full size GPUs
And you can still in most cases put water tubes at the bottom for optimal flow
It's frankly kind of scary how compact that case is
Gotta have those 130mm fans
Sorry, 240mm
I was heavily considering going with a water cooled 5800X3D, with AIO being Liquid Freezer II 240
Value build 👌
The only fractal case I don't really like the design of is the torrent, feels too gamery
Build ended up being
- Meshlicious
- 5600 non-X
- RX 6800XT
- 2TB SN770
- 32GB low profile Corsair RAM
- Mobo is some rather high end Gigabyte B550i with bluetooth and wifi
- 80+ Platinum 650W Thermaltake
I think it came out 1400$
With space for improvements to X3D and an AIO
CPU was just 130$ and has an air cooler bundled so it's basically a stopgap as it'll be fine for now
I gave up on aios
Not much performance to be gained with them and they also cost far more than a good air cooler
The thing with AIOs is that they are nearly essential in ITX builds
