RTX 3070, 1100 euros
I keep forgetting that mini-PCs nowadays are actually rather capable
Before they used to just be with iGPUs
booba
Are you having a stroke? #🔌│tech message #🔌│tech message
yes
Ah, okay
Ah there's a major caveat it seems
Minisforum uses laptop parts
I guess I'll take a look at mini-ITXs as well
I was expecting RTX 3070 desktop but it's the laptop one
Which is a big big difference
it's a big difference, but yeah can't fit a regular one in a flat case
How big are mini-ITX PCs anyways
I guess the height is similar to the one you were looking at, just thiccer
the good thing is you can go all out on the performance if you want, cable management and tetris'ing everything in place is a pain tho
that is if you care about cable management
well yeah it's not a thing that matters after you've got the thing running, but just letting everything hang freely can lead to problems down the line
Today I forgot the cable for my keyboard... Thankfully I have a spare
Seems that MSI Trident Z is a rather small gaming PC with proper desktop firmware
One's on amazon with a full powered 3070
Also considering building my own mini-PC
But idk what really tiny cases could house an rx 6800XT
This seems to hold RX 6800XT's no problem according to some
Lol it seems to have enough clearance to hold an RTX 4090
oh i finally found the meme elon was trying to make
someone called it an x post
just like you would say on reddit
🤦♂️
its not an x post from r/funny, its an x post in general
More people read news there than...well where else would you suggest?
Radio? Nondescript sirens?
maybe the alert system built onto our phones
Those are flaky and unreliable
better than using social media
why not use everything at your disposal
sirens are the only thing that should be kept until it gets bad enough to warrant panick
Two Windows VMs go round the outside, round the outside, round the outside.

still a mess but more passthrough progress
Anyways decided to make an SFF PC instead
That would be hand-carryable
@prisma crag will be happy, I'm getting the Fractal Terra
Seems like the nicest looking and one of the more spacious SFF cases around
Finding a good PSU cooler though that would fit in it with a 2.7 slot card though is a bit difficult
there will be a ton of startups using AI to determine gluten content in milkshakes and stuff
90% will go under again and just scam investors anyway
and that's that
🤷♂️
What milkshakes
those that bring all the vexes to the yard
Vex the minecraft mob?
No, you
understandable
Its fuckin expensive though
230$ here
If the build goes way over the top, might have to go with a cheaper case like Lian li Q58
Technically also Torrent Nano exists
Bro you should have came to me
Formd T1 with handle strap
9.95L
I can't find a formd t1 on sale here
In EU?
How much for Terra
230$
Silver
Cause it looks good
Although case isn't much more than just a case
Needs to work, that's the important part
5800X3D, 6800XT
Awesome
the fire destoryed the sirens
they were up on the mountian because they are normally for tusnamis
Pffft hahah
I went to look at amazon prices
A lot cheaper
But wtf is that dispatch time
They do
Formd T1 isn't even on amazon
Where else will I look doofus?
On a website
Although DAN A4 is on amazon so that's nice
Do NOT add to the cart! Only for download. Product Name File Notes T1 V2.0 Reference Kit - WhatsInBox Download ⇩ Showing what's inside the box. Do yourself a fucking favor
I’m not gonna let you get a shitty Pc
yeah
Not listening fuck off
Alright bro
also
the terra is 230?
they are 180 in us
arent they swedish
how is it that much more in eu
I bought it pretty much assembled
And just in case I ordered some extra screws from Amazon
Got it for pretty cheap, $150 US
I already had all the parts I needed as well
Still loving it to this day
Their discord is really helpful with this stuff and I have all of the links with help needed
Thank god I saved some stuff before I got banned lol
PSU cooler?
It’s a sandwich layout case so I’d suggest AXP90-X47 with Noctua fan swap
Single storefront issue
The one I said is on Amazon though
Ah fuck this tried switching to a cheaper storefront, their 6800XT's are all 3-slot
The Sapphire I found is a 2.7 slot which is crucial
Won’t gain anything
Cause Terra doesn't really fit 3 slot cards
It would need to be 2.5 slot
2.7 slot fits
I mean for a cooler
322mm clearance on Terra
How about slots?
Another good reason to avoid Terra
Idc kmt
thats what she said
3.25 slot capable T1 and 3 versions of 4090 cards
RTX 4090 fits in the Terra from what I saw
FE, and I think an MSI variant and another
took 5 seconds to download
Terra, 4090
It's a pretty damn spacious case
Radeon cards are just hella long
But not as thicc
Me personally
And that's a fucking issue
XFX 6800XT is 340mm
How am I supposed to fit that
MAYBE the 340mm includes the bracket
Which I think is 12mm
Which you could maybe remove and get it to just fit
How tf did they make the 4090 304mm thick
Or is it just Radeons that are long af
pcb =/= cooler
I am aware, which is why I am annoyed with the Sapphire having exactly the same clocks as the 340mm long versions while being 313mm
Like, why the bulk
same clocks but are they the same temps?
might even be different pcb for those etc.
Three fan cooler and it's sapp, so I bet they are even better
Anyways I guess I'll go with this storefront since they have the Terra (only storefront in my country that has the Terra in stock) and the Sapphire card
Amazon seems cheaper but they have 3 months shipping on Terra lol
Cause your mom likes bbc?
Silver, Titanium, and E-White T1: 🫡🫡
700W Platinum
Garbage and loud
I'm not buying a 240 euro PSU
Why not
Budget limited
150 refurbished
Anyways checking cybenetics
From Corsair themselves
Must suck to be an SFF fan in the EU
I feel pity for you
Cybenetics only tested the 1000W model, unfortunate
But should be similar
They like it, platinum rating
not even titanium, weak
There's barely any affordable SFX PSUs at that rating
I love paying more for a worse power bill and worse clocks or noise/temperature
SF750 Gold refurbished is more than enough
I could get an 80+ Titanium rated one but I'm not paying 314$
Sad that none of the Fractal Ion SFX are in stock
Anyways how much watts would I even need on a 5800X3D and 6800XT
600W should cut it
without looking up 500 should do
SF650 with custom cables would be perfect
Good
Sike
I would love that EVGA 1080Ti
Looks insane
This fuckin storefront doesn't even have form factor sorting
i want the evga 4090 😦
This?
SFX, Gold
Not best
Not terrible
Other than a 300$ silverstone lol
Using this for reference
There's decent amount of platinums
But way out of my price range converted to local pricing
Why are they not providing sizing?
I guess SFX is the "size"
But not sure if they go any bigger
Guess same thing with ITX
So Terra should fit the EVGA PSU then
5800X3D only supports 3200MHz memory?
That's a bit shite
how is this your first time seeing supported specs stop at jedec
I have not looked up 5800X3D memory support before alright
this is not 5800x3d specific
thats tied for highest of any ddr4 cpu
no cpu is rated for above jedec spec on the "this will work" spec table
I guess if you OC it to 3600 (when 3600 is I think an OC of 3200 anyways) the CPU won't mind
3200MHz is the highest native clock I think
3600 for 5800X3D
I'd go with 4GHz
5800x3d natively supports up to 3200
the target for all ryzen 3000/5000 IODIE for oc is 3800 OC from 3600 xmp
^
I don't remember, is EXPO allowed on Ryzen 5000 series?
Think that was a 7000 series feature
expo is ddr5 only
and anyways amd ddr4 chiplet cpus have less than 10% chance of passing 3800mhz
its ez pz on the monolithic chips
Also rather annoying with DDR4 CL14 being still extremely expensive
well yes?
When CL16 is basically similarly performing but twice as cheap
sorta but no
sure if you happen to be buying flat 16 bdies, you just need to give it an extra 100mv
but if you are getting non bdies, you are gonna have
oh wait
ryzen
fuck
you have no control over rfc/refi
to maximize bdie you need control of both
and amd locks away one of them i forget which
Gigabyte B550i
One of 3 options really, other one is an ASUS and ASrock I think
And I'd far rather have the jiggybyte, best I/O, best VRM
And it's also not ASUS which has that shite bloatware flashed into the BIOS
gigglebios is a meme
@prisma crag do you know if with the Terra a low-profile DDR4 kit is a hard requirement?
asrock is the current least painful vendor
Or only with some coolers
Pure rock LP seems like it doesn't "branch out"
So it just sits on the die
Not true
So it shouldn't really reach the RAM slots I hope
Just make sure it’s not too tall
That's why eco mode and curves were invented
I can NOT do better than that in a Terra
With a 2.7 slot gpu
Advice: was looking for Apple devices
Macbooks are incredibly overpriced
Get a mac mini
How much for the m2 pro macbook?
doesn't exactly work for "chilling in bed"
that and the MBP really has killer speakers, trackpad and screen
great idea, buy a device with soldered on wear components refurbished
it is well worth the premium for such a great laptop
Apparently Mac mini actually has speakers
The damn cube has speakers
...where is that magical 50 dollar bump
I swore they were 3150
did apple bump up the price since I looked at those prices...last year?
ahhhh
the M1 -> M2 got a 50 dollar price bump
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
yeah that makes sense
but what do they check for when refurbishing, how many months sooner is that going to die
Replacing the red water damage stickers lol
that's because they do a case swap for everything
Visually not virtually
so the bits you'll touch will be impeccable
what about the the bits under the hood?
um
the applecare and warranty are fair points
although it is a refurbished device
it was in someone else's hands before
don't expect you got some rich kid's toy that they used thrice before they got bored
if you thought it was a good idea to buy it, you already would have...
if you were talking about it just to flex, you leave
if they need an apple device, they can get an apple device
Went to an ideal yesterday to touch some apples, not grass
Honestly, I kinda like them
It's not windows but it's good enough
SFF is a hard requirement
PC has to be easily portable
Yes the requirement is easily portable
SFF is the only choice lol
could just get a macbook instead, my guy
No
There's a good reason why not
M2 Pro absolutely sucks at gaming
And the PC is for gaming
the AXP-100 copper coolers are still floating around
it's not perfect, but it does plenty more than one might expect
refurb just has the issue that it only has 1 year warranty for a reason and it's not cheap ¯_(ツ)_/¯
sure but buying a laptop without knowing that the M# computers have soldered on nand that frequently fails and contains the firmware for the laptop is unethical of apple
We are just providing the public service of letting them know of the only barely publicized issues
I mean...it works great
for the five actual games that I run on it because most don't support apple's extremely capable platform
🙊
bears repeating
Yeah gaming is the major issue
I really need a new cooler for my pc, my aio pump is starting to die on me, can hear the bubbling every once in a while
but damn I'm poor rn
The person actually really liked the mac mini with m2 pro
But then they asked "how are games" and I was like ehh, you ok with playing at 720p on minimum quality?
assuming you're playing through porting kit and actively emulating the entire thing through a wineskin, yep
native games, or even a solid chunk of games through D3D Metal can at least manage 1080p 60FPS
Yes, native games run great
No debate there
But a lot of the games they play are not
Well, nearly all of them are not lol
And most importantly, Apple DOES NOT SUPPORT EGPU
also the end of 32 bit support killed a lot of really fuckin nice mac ports
THEY HAVE DAMN THUNDERBOLT 4 BUT NO EGPU
can't play games like Rage
I mean I have M1 Pro and it can run games solidly at medium to high full HD
or Spec Ops: The Line
two classics, very underrated
and you can't play them on mac
because ports don't...work anymore

yea...
I'm switching to air for good

Absolutely shit perf lol
1600x1200
Well that’s cyberpunk
And guess what they will be playing?
as soon as I get a new job I'm buying a thermalright cooler asap
Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, etc
thats about how well it runs on steam deck lel
Oh yeah
I am testing M2 PRO performance on the new Mac Beta using the game converter, still kind of rubbish performance and I can see the CPU is only being 50% utilised but WOW Elden ring on Mac eh...
I actually am planning on picking one up next time I'm in Rochester
because there is no fucking way I'm paying 120USD between shipping and taxes on an 80 USD cooler
1080p barely 30fps
no wait...
um
I think I did already
time to check my hoard of PC parts in my closet
I genuinely, 100%, would right now buy a macbook or mac mini instead of making this SFF PC
But only if they supported eGPU
And eGPU with apple silicon is not a thing
that would be a massive undertaking, my guy
Slap a 3070 on Apple M2 and it'd be a BEAST
apple is a 2 trillion dollar company...
Arma 3 runs rather well on macs :)
I wonder though if Apple will ever consider eGPU support
and such a thing would take a lot of cash, time and effort for a rather small userbase that would take advantage of it
oh yes, enabling the gpu support they had in the past and dropped is really hard
Cause having to buy a 4000$-8000$ Macs for bearable gaming performance is rather shite
apple has enough cash on hand for a literal moon program
considering the archecture switch, I doubt that's a possibility
That was only on Intel eGPUs though
Which I read they still have on Intel Macs
Apple silicon never supported eGPU
no but they are in the hundreds of millions of cash on hand
if you allow pcie gpus it's no real extra work, they stopped allowing the amd pro cards and pcie only allows sound cards and stuff like that in the mac studios now
yes but it supports external pcie devices, including certain video IO devices that dont appear the same as a regular gpu
so if you allow gpus there egpu is like rounding error
I wonder how different are those Thunderbolt 4 controllers on Apple
Surely they are the same as on Intel
obviously not
Should not be incredibly hard for them to enable eGPU
But then their "studio" mac line would make no sense
the studio macs dont support gpus either
Would make no sense cause of pricing
methinks the studio line doesn't have the space to fit a card, my guy
they are a 2 trillion dollar company, aka thats the buyout price at market value right now
and they have enough cash on hand for a moon program
both are semantically and factually accurate statements
Stop fighting children, it doesn't matter what any of you use
Apple loves money
But they also love creators
I think?
Good platform for editors
Fast compile times also in CPU workloads
only if they use prores and final cut
@dawn epoch Are you choosing Apple just cause of closed source firmware?
Cause for that price a good windows laptop would be better
But yeah if you are just looking for security, obviously apple
if you want compile time wait for the 96C TR
Lol aren't those like 3 grand a pop at least?
it's me
yes
and that's not a problem if you absolutely need it for work
well no not obviously apple lel
windows supports better security than apple its just not easy to do
Right lol. I won’t be getting another Lenovo that’s for sure, maybe just get a mac
no, it's an assus piece of shit plastic floppy boi
720p res (HD fuck yeah)
and an i5 7200u
absolutely blazing fast when it came out
...at least half a decade ago
Actually not a bad shout, a lot of companies in some fields choose Apple as their issued devices
but it ran metro 2033 at 30 FPS
if you dropped every setting down
Good thing if you learn how to use one
I know for sure if they give me an apple device, I'd be fucked
It confuses the hell out of me
oh
and a 5400RPM HDD just to add horseshit frosting to the horseshit cake
I think I still use that drive for porn
spend a while using them and you figure out what is and isnt allowed
once youve got an intuition for the stuff thats allowed, it becomes easier
How do you pentest something that has no open source code?
uhh not sure if you are serious
I have no clue in this field so that was serious
if you could not pentest closed source, closed source could never be breached lol
darwin is oss
thats how people find bugs
Charles darwin?
Legacy mirror of Darwin Kernel. Replaced by https://github.com/apple-oss-distributions/xnu - GitHub - apple/darwin-xnu: Legacy mirror of Darwin Kernel. Replaced by https://github.com/apple-oss-dist...
its apples kernel
Why is that open source
because apple decided to oss it for bug hunting
apple's oses are BSD based which was foss
Often audits / pentests of closed source stuff do get access as it makes it easier to find things. But yea you don't need it, you just won't find as many of the issues if it's closed.
youll be even more surprised
but yeah apple does opensource stuff
Huh, I guess even the devil embraces the good, sometimes
If only right to repair was also embraced
well the reason the linux community says its not open source is theres no guarantee from apple that that is what is running on your device
you just have to trust them that they arent doing anything sketchy between repo and deployment
Interrogate him for everything he knows
Tony's an experienced coder
Good luck at work lass
In fact webkit was originally a fork of khtml Apple has worked with open source for a very long time. They never were against it, they are however against open systems.
and they really like oss so that they can be inspired for their own software
or just outright copy the software like parts of Game porting toolkit
Sonoma? Yeah it seems nice
The default cursor is still so out of place looking, so old looking
It contrasts too much with the modern UI design
Cool saw this in the morning

MLID always makes his way into the cooler things https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-navi-4x-concept-renders-demonstrate-the-complexity-of-the-high-end-rdna4-gpu-design
AMD RDNA4 MCM, a complicated design that could already be canceled A conceptual renders and diagrams explain why AMD might have been forced to cancel the GPU. Concept AMD Navi 4X GPU render, Source: creper9000 AMD had to make revisions to its Navi 4X GPU rollout, potentially even considering the cancellation of its most advanced […]
Honestly, would look very slick
Now
Wasn't the talk that RDNA4 will not have high-end GPUs?
isnt this the cancelled gpu?
Both can still be true, if amd was being very ambitious on that depart and it does not pan out yet.
"Neither source has had access to the complete diagram or GPU, rendering these visuals purely conceptual and based on tidbits from various unverified sources."
and said unverified sources is MLID
"MLID always makes his way into the cooler things" "Honestly, would look very slick"
I also don't know how well sourced the rumors are, both of the cancelation and of this.
hmm i wonder if thats why they cancelled it 🤔
no the "source" is not mlid
its a patent from 2022 or so
but somehow that gets accredited to mlid here
thats the origin of the information
but the source that converted it from a patent into speculation about future products is mlid
well, it was talked about before by twitter leakers and they also said its accurate
A patent really does not tell you any more than they were working on the idea in a lab and decided it was important enough to patent.
so this is mlid being on the mark just after others have posted it in less open places
so keep following sources back to the info
i suppose a better word would be "citation"
but that implies some amount of repute
yes its from people with pretty decent track record for zen/rdna
From what I hear AI demand coupled with enterprise margins being way higher means that for AMD and Nvidia it makes more sense to use the new nodes for enterprise AI silicon. This is likely why we saw GPU prices rise so much, ut gets hard for gpu makers to justify selling consumer gpus at a thinner margin when AI pays better
substitute amd and nvidia for just nvidia but yea
what happened is nvidia abandoned all their non ai customers, and amd picked up the slack that is big in science
current gen sure, mi300/400 is attempting to do what zen did to intel
but they also dont block all the nodes for AI silicon thats just wrong
h100 is substrate limited not wafer limited
are there any rumors for mi300whatever flops
amd claims 8x mi250x which is 400tflops
that would be 3.2tflops
an h100 is already 4tflops
and the h100 is already over a year old
think that was for mi300A and not mi300X which would have an extra cdna tile
thats from january where mi300 was not annoucned to have different configs yet iirc
so at that point they only showed mi300A
ah right, I forgot the most important part lol
large amounts of unified memory
1.5tb< 4.8tb
The story goes AMD realized cancelling the flagship would mean they could devote more resources for the more lucrative enterprise market, not that the flagship would be unprofitable but that it wasn't profitable enough to justify its existence over enterprise units
one h100 has 94gb max, mi300x has 192gb
nvidia advertises 144tb of unified memory per superchip in a cluster
no this is false
How so?
it is to not delay rdna5 or other later products and get rdna4 to market without delays, its not diverting manpower to the cdna solutions
h200 is 141gb???
how on earth does 141gb come to exist
block diagram showing its actually just 1 gpu
its the 2024 refresh with HBM3e iirc
maybe 3e has some stuff that limits it or for yields idk
"Fourth generation NVIDIA NVLink enables GPU threads to address up to 144TB of
memory provided by all superchips in the NVLink network using normal memory
operations, atomics, and bulk transfers. Communication libraries like MPI, NCCL, or
NVSHMEM transparently leverage the NVLink Switch System when available.
NVIDIA NVLink Switch System connects each Grace Hopper Superchip to the network at
900GB/s total bandwidth. That is, a Grace Hopper Superchip pair exchanges data at up
to 900GB/s. With up to 256 Grace Hopper Superchips, the network delivers up to
115.2TB/s all-to-all bandwidth. This is 9x the all-to-all bandwidth of InfiniBand NDR400,
and 4.5x the all-reduce throughput."
actual insanity
144tb of unified memory at 900GB/s
not 900gbps
900GB/s
and this is without using infiniband
GH200 Grace Hopper superchip that utilizes 141 GB (144 GB physical)
So is the additional 3GB used for something else or inaccessible?
inaccessible
its definetly inaccessible, but it could be used for something internally we just wont know what and wouldnt get any advantage from it
likely just yields but could be something else sure
could also be inverse 970 dealios
lmfao
the last 3gb would have been slower so they disabled
dont think you can have mixed configured in one hbm stack lol
could be their imc bursts into flames when you allocate 144gb of memory, and the minimum they could cut off was 512mb and they had to cut it off all the stacks?
¯_(ツ)_/¯ couldnt find specifics only places saying its for yield though no concrete source
yay
well if we survive this ai boom, ill buy an h200 superchip and see if i can find out myself
I mean we are like 6 months away I'm sure by then someone will have something concrete xD
maybe
each die is 3 GB so could just be yields
yeah thats from july with the first info so the 36gb on gh200 would just use 12hi again
so basically memory capactiy/BW and uniform acces vs (maybe) faster chips
even if they dont win pure spec per gpu slot in anything that's still a valid choice then so better than cdna1/2 as alternative
the difference here is simply that nvidia is not doing an intel so it's not a straight win in server space lol
what
their website is so scuffed
might as well just buy any other phone and install graphene or something on it
don't believe it
It's nice and all that but use WhatsApp too much for communicating & I guess that there's no support for it? 😅
you can just install any app
you can buy pixel 7 for the same price and just install graphene os on it and you will get much better specs
mate
there is no way they manufacture it themselves
the whole thing "Made in X" is very misleading
"Volla works with regional suppliers" while MediaTek is based in Taiwan
does gigaset make them still
mediatek might produce in germany
?
I mean I know gigaset is still around
I just don't know if they made a smarphone recently
we have a few fabs around
doubt they do that
but possible ig?
oof those bezels
the gigaset gx6 is slightly better lol
as an "outdoor" device
they have easily accessible batteries at least
doubt gigaset will still make smartphones by then
Reminds me of those paper-textured screen covers marketed as protectors
If anything I take it the manufacturers already maimed it’s outer layer, should it actually be shatterproof
to me it’s like sticky iPad baking paper
I didn’t really pay attention to any macro shots if any

Yeah
I got one of those too,
10ish years old
Great thing for sure
But 14$? Someone here might want one on the cheap.
Also it's wireless, so that could help some folk I dunno
Yep
Just use a leaf blower
If we're talking about PC cases
Why not keyboards as well though actually
lol

Noes.
Yes...but. It appears to be missing the four media keys above numpad.
A lot of sets don't include these, so be aware that you won't have a full replacement
Couldn't I just use the regular wooting media keys?
thank you for the reply
That is definitely an option to mix and match.
do you guys have any keycap recommendations I can get from the uk? I'm not a big keyboard modder at all, but I'm playing with the idea of giving my new board a little flavour :p
I've had pretty good experiences with Corsair's PBT pro keycap sets
They are very similar to our own PBT sets, except with slightly different letter design.
But Razer, SteelSeries and Ducky are all mainstream gaming brands that would work.
That is useful to know. Looking forward to getting my board and playing around with it.
Helo guys! What metal back cases that are not 100$ could you recomend? Tofu are now not compattible right??
Get w00d, it sounds better
any brand name that is accessible in Europe??
Lemme look
Thank you very much!
Apparently Tofu works with modifications
https://wooting-technologies.notion.site/Tofu-60-Wood-164782dfb40f4f4cbf261fc75446efd5
Need to sand it
Tofu and Tofu redux are compatible. Tofu 2.0 is not.
Did Tofu change back the Type C hole
OK! I was not awere about this! thank you!
in tofu redux they specifically made a change to fit the 60he better, the port hole now slides
Good
also, if you're willing to wait till next tuesday, wooting will announce their own aluminium case for 60he
no idea about the price, could be less than 100, could be more
really? That is great. I was asking myself if and when they do it!
right around the corner
I still need to wait 2-3 week to my keyboard delivery, so maybe i will order the case also! You helped me a lot guys. Thank you very much. Really nice to see a comunitty of good intentional ppl! That's why I bought the keybord in first place, because the transparence of the devs. Nice job Wooting

What wireless mice would you recomend? I doubt between Logitech G-pro or Vaxee NPO1! What's your thoutghs? I have a moral dilema for about a few monthes now, need help
Germany is easy just use the price history of geizhals.eu
Budget?
Something really cheap like a basilisk wireless or g305 are good
How much is deathadder v3 pro?
DV3 is frequently called the best gaming mouse in the market rn
If you don't like Razer or Logi software and want something less bloated
There's Model O Wireless for like 90$ or so
Don't like the shape of death ader! coming from zowie mice, so maybe it's better the Vaxee cause it's one of the employees of Zowie
Model O 2 wireless is a lot more expensive than Model O Wireless but it seems pretty good
And software is a clear ripoff of wootility lol
ajaajjaajaj
Which for better or for worse
Makes it the best software in mouse market
Yeah I don't get it either ngl
I just buy whatever seems like it's good and use it until it breaks lol
My Viper is already like 3 years old, lasts like a champ
Basilisk broke in 6 months though, that was sad
same here. But wanna go wireless as I need more space in my desk!
Viper is a wireless/wired
Both
I play games somewhat competitively and the viper is better than I will ever need
But that's just me, really comfortable mouse
Thank you very much for your help. I will look at your advise.
Mine's viper ultimate btw
And I don't even have razer software installed either
Fuck that trash
dont like softwave either. thats why probably vaxee or zowie are better
Or Glorious
you have full acces in the mice itself
Did you look at model O 2 Wireless?
it's pretty nice but look at this holes, not a fan of that!
Yeah not everyone are
As a long term user of viper ultimate with a weird claw/palm hybrid grip
I give a recommendation on it
Thank you Bro. You give me a couple new ideas.
would you recommend the viper ultimate over the g pro super light?
gotcha
I have no clue
I never held a g pro in my life
Nor do I feel the need to when this mouse is extremely comfortable and precise
I don't see the need to "upgrade", it's a marketing sham made for you to feel bad about what you have and gauge money from you, increasing ewaste
Most 60$+ mouses are more likely than not good enough
Just get whatever is cheap, has a deal, and has a good shape that you like

Literally not round 2
No need to pretend more drama when there isn’t one
GN is talking about benchmarking improvements and LTT is improving their own processes
A tiny bit funny
Rather concerning bump in low end
almost the same exact peaks on my old 400i
kek well I'm in the market for aorund a kilo-buck headphone
Get a kilo-buck-killer then
if only I could go to china really quick
@final flame
bruh, that's the subbass region and it's 3db at most
I'd be far more concerned about sibilance in the highs
you'll hear the drop at 200hz far more easily than the bump at 70
looks alright
once again try to find a way you can listen to it with a way you can return it if you don't like that top end
that top end is beyer material and I'm not too sure if you'd like that
considering that's well in listenable frequencies
I sold my old 400i because of similar peaks

2 guys one bios lock
Unless password chip
never seen that on a mobo
Use copyrighted material to create AI
release AI capable of spouting off copyrighted material to the market
Not sure what OpenAI expected
Also I know someone is going to say "Oh but it's just reading articles and writing its own version, we do this all the time!" but I think the concern many publications have is that ChatGPT almost never references back to the original sources.
I mean imagine going to a Warzone, writing up a detailed article on said warzone, possibly having your life at risk, and then everyone uses ChatGPT to read your article instead, netting you no income. Google already got in trouble something adjacent to this in a few countries, wherin news publications realized that Google pulling quotes out to show in the google image results to the user before they visited the site meant that their articles dropped in readership as Google was diverting people to its own system and taking the lion's share of ad revenue
What way is there to prove whose content was used to train AI
What if two pieces of content are so similar that AI got inspired by one of them to create something resembling the other?
Which one is now being infringed as "OpenAI used my image to train their model"
Seriously, this is a weird ass grey area that I have no clue how to circumvent
In general I am positive towards a web crawler leeching off everything it can find to train a model
Cause why not
But a human opening a preview of such art to admire and take in aspiration is not considered as stealing?
How is this any different, in reality, from a human learning
You could argue that the difference is that OpenAI uses the model to generate profits
But so do humans, they steal other's ideas for profits
AI doesn't really plagiarise
It changes things enough to be unique
llms literally work on predicting what letter comes next based on what it knows from the dataset
idk how much closer you can go without 1:1 copying it
A company that suspects its content has been used to train an AI would go to court, they might present some finding like the AI being able to closely recreate their work given the right prompt. From there the court can order OpenAI to present documents showing whether or not AI stole their content for training
Yes OpenAI could LIE on court documents, but companies are aware this can make the situation WAY worse then being found liable for copyright.
One law that might be necessary for AI, is to force AI creators to make public ALL training data
Also my point still stands. AI creates a situation where many independant news sources will have its readership stripped away as the AI takes their content to present to the user. Google has been sued already in multiple countries for doing the same thing, and in those countries now must pay the publications it sources its google results information from. AI might need to do something similar. Otherwise independent news sources might be driven out of existence, endangering our way of informing ourselves
ChatGPT as far as I have learned will usually not cite its sources of information (or if you ask it too, it will generate fake links that go nowhere). So if it sources live information for people then those publication will be getting Zilch
Not an ethical consideration but one weird thing about a world of AI is going to be to produce an ouroboros of AI referencing articles made by AI. Considering AI tends to "hallucinate" this could mean articles being generated that get increasingly innacurate, until its just spouting straight garbled misinformation. AI training program ironically might need to find ways to filter AI data it scraped from the internet whilst at the same time trying to make their AI generate human like and not obviously machine generated results.
How did he get that?
Chatgpt doesn't use sources, all of the data was learned or made up, and if you give it Internet access it only looks at what you tell it to
Bing chat and bard cite their sources
Running llms also needs giga ram capacity with these modern doods
Gpt-4 is over 1.7TB
Llama starts at 7gb and goes up to 70gb
Probably not an llm
llama are trained on terabytes of text data
aaaan I lost tweetdeck access, now twitter is unusable to me, rip
You're not gonna pay the blood money?
no I'll keep one tab open for dms and such but now I gotta find other ways to keep my newsfeed going
Intel core 🤢
We will finally have tools to see driver optimizations directly, and it's thanks to Intel
Scrappy underdog Intel is very nice to see after resting on their laurels for 20 years
I mean the learned data had to come from a source, and the above lawsuit I suppose alleges the sources were used without permission in creating the product
sure
but i couldnt tell you where i learned that the gtx480 has 480 cuda cores
i can tell you where to find that information now, but it wouldnt be my source
if you want sources, use bing chat or bard

Let's be fair if it happened to the swiss it can happen to anyone, luckily noone else operates railway tunnels this long.

Something really funky is going on, my NAS and Desktop were capping out at 100mb on my Network Switch
But i just replugged my NAS and its faster.
just re plugged my Desktop and the same result....
fixed it
is it possible its the wires or the switch itself?
anything is possible
switch issues are rare tho, i would more often suspect something non physical going on
hmm
like devices thinking they need to send the data through the router?
rn its modem > router > switch > Desktop/NAS
is the switch managed? does it have an ip address?
We have 3 different Netgear "basic" switches deployed at work and all 3 have different issues
this is the first time in years
Managed is way to expensive
Might have to try swapping ports around and see if the issue comes bwck
Thats my current
i got it on offer
anyway i replaced the cable for my nas
hmm mits low on my NAS
desktop
changed the wire
Less than my PC but id imagine its down to different factors mostly being its well
a potato nas at this point xD
really wish i had 2.5G nas
Sadly even if i had a 2.5gb NAS i would not be able to via a switch.... to expensive
2.5g swtichs are cheap these days
Not in the UK
cheapest i can find is £79.99
aye but the benefit isn't justified
for the price
atm
10g is better for same or less
that seems like a ton for a 10 footer
5.59?
yeah
you can get like 10 for 15 bucks us
where lol

sorry this probably gets asked a lot; I see on the website it says the 60HE has a <1ms response time while the TWOHE has a <2ms response time.
Is it the case that the TWOHE is unable to get <1ms response times? If not, why does the website display <2ms?
better firmware when the 60he came out than the two
also the two he says 1ms on my side
oh lol
1.50
https://wooting.io/wooting-two-he "The two HE will update every analog key position in less than 1ms, every 1ms*."
ah i see; heres where i got thrown off
yeah thats because its moire keys
i just want a black ethernet
damn i usually cant go without arrow keys and numpad but if theres a performance cost with it; might just be better to go with 60he
LMAO
think of how long it takes to move a key down
even with rapid trigger
you can just use tacheon mode
which makes the two he under 1ms
tachyon
focus mode?
oh shieesh that sounds super useful
is that only on arm?
i dont have the option
nope
let me see if i got updates
yeah update did it
tbh id like to make my own ethernet
yo thats awesome
dosent even matter
thanks for the info ❤️
its just adertsing numbers
for sure getting the twohe now
you literally cant notice .4ms
as long as you can get the tools is actually super easy but if its just for 1 wire i wouldnt bother
ye i know its easy.
But i like the idea of having exact sizes
i used to make them in work for our server racks and patch panels etc
i see you can only choose from preselected zones; has a preset for only the 60% zone of the keyboard been discussed or is it beyond technical scope? (placing order for twohe right now just curious)
Big thank you for the help everyone, I wouldn't have been able to make a decision without you

Wasn't there a tech company selling their stuff with discount codes like "getonmylevel" and "boomheadshot"?

wonder if there are any female employees by now
A few

Jessica does CS, no?
Safe to say a majority of the staff aren't on discord
or is that just Anders' alter ego?
would be kinda weird if everyone of the staff's on Discord
It's not safe on the internet for female employees. I mean I guess not in real life either.
It's nothing to do with that
uh.... what?
I meant staff in general

lol
Only a few were genuinely employed via discord or are just lurkers

Is it sexism?
...a little clearly goes a long way with you
i mean we women are the whole reason why the internet is mostly nsfw nowadays
so yeah, it is
We've had to deal with inappropriate behavior and harassment in here nvm everywhere.
There's insane freaks out there, on all sides.... But mostly guys with small PP

you'd be surprised how sexist the entire IT industry can be
I'm not surprised.
you'd be surprised at how much bycatch you catch when you cast a net so wide

needless to say that we didn't come to any agreement
I would have said piss off xd
Fuckwit
i can basically choose my customers nowadays and i'm not afraid to terminate the contract in case the customer's not respectful
in germany we say: Wer ficken will, muss freundlich sein

If I ever run a company that takes on contract clients I wouldn't tolerate it.
Terminate on the spot or not take them at all.
or price them into the sky and make a mint if they're that desperate and willing to rein it in
that's what I'd do tbh
You wouldn't let cancer into your life
tis a shame
she's already got me
I am the cancer and there is no clean way to remove me
Everyone has their own ways to deal with toxic and disrespectful customers. I.e. there's a blacklist for people in the industry you shouldn't deal with.
if we have the suspicion that a customer of ours tries to rip us off, be disrespectful or toxic we don't only abort all works done, we also terminate the contract and in some cases at that business/company/person to the list
idk if it's just a germany wide list, but i'd assume it isn't since there are people like Jules from Framechasers on it

Intels fork breaks flip
I can already see more with nsight or gpu view
This is just more readable and the first step for more info after they update it
well, I'm not sure. Is gpubusy time new addon?
@ashen spindle With 50% render scale, my gpu util. goes from 100 % to 50 % AND gpu busy time gets halved from 3.8 ms to 1.7 ms
I mean gpu busy is a nicer way because it’s fucking pain to get that in a readable way on nsight and similar
Funny that with lowest settings possible my ow is 99.9 % gpu util on native render scale
It’s like frametime when that started, data already exist just not in a digestible way really
yea ofc
So I’m happy for this and think next updates will do a lot
just installed it basically for the new "gpu busy" thing
just wanted to check whether "reduced buffering" had any difference to gpu busy, since it's less parallelization in the frame pipe
but no doesnt seem to have
yea injecting is bad for esports

@cursive summit Why so hostile suddenly?
Not hostile

Tech stays in tech, game in game
@prisma crag anyways, even if it's not 1000%, the price tag of their H100's is definitely overpriced, even for tech companies
The issue with the h100 pricing is that is just bill of materials vs sales prices
even Apple seems generous compared to NV with their $1k monitor stand
Doesn’t include resaearch, software for it etc.
A monitor stand doesn’t need thousand of people to get it working after years of development
well, yeah, i get that you pay for the service and RnD as well, but an estimated profit margin of 1000%? Thanks, but no thanks
I mean, how many do they need to sell before they make any net profit if you include all of that though
dont get me wrong they are doing well and I know that
but it's still not free products that are cheap to develop
given that RnD and service are running costs i could imagine they'd have to sell around 500k till they finally see any profit
if not 1m
now how many do they ship this year
550k according to the reports
we can only calculate a rough number of units shipped when we get some official income numbers
so we have 2 years before they actually profit if we take that 1m guess
seems like that "1000%" isn't that insane after all anymore
Especially when AMD will be heavily digging into Nvidia's profits with Mi300
Which for whatever reason from what I have been reading is actually superior to Nvidia's tech in almost every way
that doesnt really matter for current pricing
Honestly doubt AMD will damage NV's income at all
They are directly competing
And MI300 will be faster than H100
Prolly also cheaper as well
nvidia is substrate limited for the h100 so they already cant sell as many as they wnat to so amd taking some spots isn't even directly eating their profit
I did a bunch of reading on those AMD accelerators and my surprise was that, AMD is actually ahead in terms of performance
Which was rather weird considering the situation with GPUs
However if amd were to vanish from existance it would increase demand on Nvidia which would allow them to drive up prices
faster doesn't mean it's performing better. A.e. 12900k vs 5800X3D
so they have some effect
memory capacity, bandwidth, software stack etc. all matters too
Not saying it doesn't matter but the market AMD adresses now could be addressed by Nvidia
so it at least has some marginal effect on demand
but ironically those things make mi300 so much better than the previous instinct cards
