do they complain the only reason why they aren't better is because of their equipment
blaming your equipment only goes so far
keep on doing that and you'll never become good
my wooting doesnt have pcb mount stabs thats why i didnt get that kill in valorant
osu! is hardly the pinnacle of skill or competition because it's played against static targets not evolving or reacting, unlike humans
i think this point can be applied to any game
he just gave osu as an example
if shape wasnt a factor, i'd perform the same way with a g305 or deathadder
have a look at some top level ar11 gameplay and tell me whether the targets in your shooters pop up that quickly
The most important part of a gaming mouse is shape, weight, click and motion latency anyway
other stuff is meaningless like sensor being 3950 vs 3995 etc
not to mention you're also playing a online game
lag from your connection to the server will matter more than the latency of your peripherals
the only objective things in that list are click and motion latency
heard of lag compensation?
PC latency matters the most in any latency chain after WiFi
That's why I also watch Optimums cpu reviews, he added pc latency to the chart
Playlist of all FGSky reuploads: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2J3mSZllx5qGCf2xwjmqEiYQ2kIZ3drJ
fg sky setup back with the osu liveplay
FGSky's channel got hacked and deleted so I reuploaded the 2 videos of his I had saved, if they want me to take them down, DM me on twitter @parfein
Original Description: "srry for 20 seconds of noth...
Anything below 60 g weight is generally good enough, but that excludes g305. The rest of your arguments I have nothing to add to because to me they're a strawman. You're just dismissing the effects of hardware. Hardware isn't subjective beyond novice level stuff.
Let's just agree to disagree on the whole
Bro used osu 💀💀
wouldnt that just be an inverted FPS chart lol
you do realize that some people perform better with heavier mice because of stability?
not sure, I'm not too educated on the whole latency part
osu is a good example due to it's absurdly high skill ceiling
most of it is, that is: cpu + gpu frame latency, unless the reviewer is really good then they can catch more stuff
optimum tech you mean yeah?
Using weight to mask their poor stability
thats where i saw it last time
yeah thats just the fps chart inverted lol, aka more fps = less latency
for some yeah
i see
there is no time where something with less fps has lower latency there
so no real point
btw since you have a 4090 i think, what cpu do you have paired with it?
hardware matters less than it used to
basically everything is around the same latency, cheap or expensive
once again the main limitation of your hardware is you, the player
5600x
If I were a budget gamer first thing I would do is get Ethernet
we aren't playing with razer boomslangs anymore
times have changed
I'm not sure abt Starfield performance at 4k( ihave 5800x3d and 3090ti) so i considered a 7800x3d and 4090
doesnt that fuck it hard at 3440x1440p?
the higher the resolution the less the cpu matters
I dont like upscaling in any game I tried it so far
No, frankly they do not. That's just a lack of skill wielding a low weight mouse and not having enough friction from Y mousepad, optimizing for critical damping. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damping
Damping is an influence within or upon an oscillatory system that has the effect of reducing or preventing its oscillation. In physical systems, damping is produced by processes that dissipate the energy stored in the oscillation. Examples include viscous drag (a liquid's viscosity can hinder an oscillatory system, causing it to slow down; see v...
ok but some people still prefer heavier mice
preference matters most
yeah
there is no objective mouse weight
Shitty players after adding 50 grams of weights to their mice because of their Parkinson’s shakes
all of this dogshit is irrelevant if i perform better with a heavier mouse
Maybe. Horses can go from A to B as well.
I mean like i saw some people prefer 80 over 60g
which i think is fine
theres nothing wrong with that
if you compare 50g to 100g thats very different
exactly
Again, compensating
I play on a Mx master, the shape matters most of all
Maybe. You can try to calculate the error % and how much force is needed to stop X mouse at Y weight for a WANTED stop distance
The force matters, can your arm generate that kind of force in Y time?
bro nobody is doing fucking nasa math when they choose a gaming mouse
none of this matters
the human body will adapt to whatever you fucking use
you know if you want to stop even m2k in 0 nanosecond it takes infinite energy?
Thats why im immortal 3 in Val and they’re not
weight is not objective and neither is shape
They can choose to be garbage if they want, but they can look at the facts
absolutely fair
your body will naturally adapt to whatever you're using
it's impossible for a human to stop in 0 nanoseconds
Please, just try this calc for your favourite mice vs e.g zaunkoening or ULX
http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/carcr2.html
bro nobody is doing physics for a fucking mouse man
you can't say weight is objective
Lots of ppl do lol
it is fucking not and never will be
True you're right is subjective bc people are different sized
if someone likes heavier mice they will choose heavier mice
say 30g is same as 40 to someone bigger
the real issue is you are not thinking outside fo the box of how to really incrase your performance
people who sit around all day doing physics calculations instead of playing the damn game to improve
I had a VPU and a GPX (75 and 60g) and I chose the viper for gaming because the shape was better for me while for normal pc usage i chose the GPX
gigachad
thats fucking genious
not enough radiator? just flood the building
Average custom loop enjoyer
Yep, but people are different like that. Some people enjoy optimizing more than gaming. For some there are not good enough games atm to play and they're waiting for something new. Etc.
he mentions he is an audiophile now im interested
what headphones and dac/amp u use
Maybe she with the anime pfp
I use a focal clear and schiit stack
nice
I also have a 6xx
i have hd600s with hd650 cable and a dacmagic 200m
Might branch out and try different headphones
I wanted to give the LCD X a shot but they are too heavy
lcdx is nice but they need eq
yeah i saw
the hifiman aryas are also pretty nice from what i saw on joshua valors channel
yea aryas are a good option too
these hd600s are doing really well though
@final flame Here is m2k vs Razer Naga V2 Pro that I'm currently using. I'm not sure I can stop the naga at 1 cm. Definitely not for hours of gaming. What do you think?
there is no clear upgrade path but other sound profiles would be nice to try
Are the jubilees any good?
do you have a phd?
no just a master's and definitely not from physics
Jubilees from my friends review are not very good, compared to the slightly more expensive 6xx
Biased
you mean based and mollusk-pilled
holy shit the keyboard is almost as wide as the monitor
this right here is why i stopped using 104 keyboards long ago
it's only 24"
still
thats the 2 he right?
yes
good choice
40% Wooting when
just tape several uwus togehter
WASD only wooting when
I want to get into speakers as speakers will offer the best sound
probably going to get myself a pair of monitor audio bronze 100s and put them on stands
Split ergo needed
i somehow doubt your average movement speed is over 4m/s
True. Those are just flicks
Doubt I can even flick at 4.5 m/s on my naga lol
i was about to say in some more dramatic situations maybe but usually youre way below such speeds
unless youre an osu gamer
maybe those mouse players get up to crazy accels
I'm consistently flicking at 4.5 m/s on something like 50 g mice from what I've benched on mousetester
but average speed is like 0.5-1 m/s
less for desktop
benched while playing a game?
not to mention the higher the mouse dpi and sensitivity in game the less this will matter
ya
in fact if you're using high dpi you'd probably want something heavier
3200 dpi, sub 50g mouse gang wya
i use 1600 dpi on a 60g mouse
1000dpi high weight gang
🤢🤢
I use 800 on a 165g mouse
i still need to get a higher weight for mine as im at just 85g currently
It's the other way around, lower weight allows for higher dpi, but requires the tuning of damping/friction.
Low weight + high dpi + control pad basically
ideally id want 120-140
Mx master 2s
That’s how I know you’re a shill
oh
now that makes sense
i thought it was just a g502 with a gym weight strapped to it
idk man, I'd rather not have my view in game go all over the place due to a random muscle spasm
but that's just me
Yeah def not forcing you, Glaxes
is it 3d printed or how did you get to 22?
in the end it all falls down to preference
I’ve never gotten a spasm while playing
oh
@ me when a deathadder releases with 24-30g weight
@prisma crag I wonder whats the mass/volume of m2k vs ULX (lion) at 5% bigger than UL2/SL-12 small
@ me when logitech releases a gaming version of the mx master with all the same features and just a better sensor and lack of a soft touch finish
Get a superlight and call it
g502 doesn't have a gesture button or horizontal scroll
You’re asking for too much
eh, it's alright, won't be the same as a actual wheel
Naga V2 Pro has a wild wheel lol
96 steps per revolution
@final flame oh this has a horizonta too I think?
the only gaming mice that are relatively similar to the mx master are the
Basilisk and the G502x
I still would like a gesture button, as that's what allows me to navigate windows absurdly quick
acid etching should be even finer than bicarb, no? 😄
What the fuck is a gesture button
but prob doesnt work that well on plastics hehehe
Show us the mouse Glarses
almost bought that one
you hold it down and move your mouse in a direction to do a action
I personally like the older designs of the mx master
the kind of diamond pattern on it is nice
End Game Gear has new control pad that has japanese Poron base (like Artisan), if anyone's looking for control pads
I like the corsair ironclaw wireless shape, would be nice it it wasn't a flimsy piece of trash
I hope that it doesn't die someday
95 should be still like critical levels of normal
Ah no it keeps going up the bastard
Well AMD says below 110 is within spec so, must be normal then

My reaction when card catches fire from meltic plastic and PCB
But AMD said it was normal
they said that on RDNA cards, that looks like an RX 5xx smth
and the only reason they said that is because they measure hotspot sensor
That is an RX 5700, brother
I don't like this card tbf
at least amd admits it's normal smh
It's really good perf wise and extremely efficient
I even managed to somehow break it to the point it completely shuts down while not in use
So, 0W
But the occasional (once every quarter year or so) driver crashes are annoying
do you have the reference edition?\
GN showed that the cooler on the stock one is unusable
The cooler's fine
It clearly sustains 100° under load
So what's wrong with reference eh?
Do you own one?
Evidently not cause neither of your current claims hold weight when I own the card, and it's neither noisy nor the temps are bad
https://youtu.be/-SAWtKEIYbw it is objectively terrible
AMD's Radeon group can't seem to learn from its past mistakes and has launched yet another product with broken drivers. This is our benchmark of the AMD RX 5700 XT.

We added some washers and thermal paste to the RX 5700 XT cooler to fix some of its previously dismal performance.

This fix uses some Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut, although we'd recommend some Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut on Amazon (https://geni.us/Jrm5Sf).
We also used 4 washers, fou...
its the same thing man
Lol "same thing"
they use the same cooler
Since when non-XT has a weird ass dent on its shroud?
XT was supposed to use a vapor chamber if I remember correctly
Non-XT does not
Ehh
Article's a bit of a stretch
How was your anime fym
how is it abysmal?
Problems of open source
Also I can't recall a single antivirus that's made for Linux that's good
Megumin is not lesbian
relying on the source being closed is not a good practice
Sorry to ruin your konosuba experience
She's bi at best
It's not a new season, it's prequels
Which nobody asked for anyways
Who's ever said that open source is more secure than closed?
That's like the whole point of closed, nobody knows your secrets
*once, before useless
didn't mean to say that it isn't abysmal if it seemed that way, just want to learn
she can still talk
Please don't find that relatable, please?
what I meant is it shouldn't be an excuse to write bad code
Well, relying on the manufacturer not holding dark secrets with closed is something not really good
But closed is to remain industry standard
yea of course
That'd be the opposite
You can exploit code deficiencies
I don't quite think having the code just open like a book is a good thing
it's easier to find the exploits if the code is open source
And exploit them
The fact that Linux is also forked beyond belief is not a good thing either
Everyone's running a flavour of it

Sigma Browser Grindset
Why is a browser called OS?
This also looks exactly like Arc Browser
Webkit is open souce, funny enough...considering Apple make it
Apple didn't want to start from Scratch, so they used khtml as base
Lana might not
Although she's been told several times :p
I'll give you a medium where there are no privacy issues
I know, it's hard to believe
.....khtml, fucking hell, I think Falkon browser still uses that
Absolutely no issues
@dawn epochTry this one day
Best search engine I have ever seen
No privacy issues
No getting hacked either
Other than getting hacked with an axe
That'd be.. worse than getting hacked on the internet
Skip the Witcher books
And I don't see why you'd buy mangas when they are all on mangadex
if you have disposable money one should pay for other peoples work that you want to have
That's actually not necessarily how even the law works
A lot of works are not translated into other languages
And according to some kind of laws, prolly DMCA, they are freely hostable for free
As long there is no other way to obtain the manga
what law are you on about
the law of low iq
thats very not true
its still not legal, its just not against the law of the country that the work hasnt been translated to
the us and japan are part of a treaty that means that IP laws from the country of origin of the IP apply to works not registered in other countries
the question of is a translated copy of the work transformative enough to turn it into a new work has been decisively stated to be not fair use
it also really doesnt matter even if that was the law, as a decent human one should pay people for their work if you have money for it lol
and that doesnt even matter because japan doesnt have fair use
true
yup
its unquestionably ethically wrong, however morally?
morals are by definition subjective...
I can't comment on that as I lack morals and ethics
ethics are objective, you cant lack them, just lack awareness of them
i don't care about shit that doesn't affect me or the ones I care about
let's put it that way
sure
but everything effects everyone in society eventually
and paying for works of art/IP is extremely direct
if you find it good enough to spend your time with it, you would likely want more of it to exist, and if you do not perform the exchange for it, more of the work is less likely to exist
I was talking about stuff in general not this specifically
if you have the means to and you want to support anything go right ahead
lol
I hope they atleast got to 45g with this thing now
bet it is the same but 2khz
Come on man.. I rebought GPX.. a couple month ago... fk sake
lol
I've been holding off for years with my viper ultimate
double packets
yeah just saying it would be funny
Wonder if optical switches
The g502x have opticals
Ah rip
that is why both asus and corsair stopped using them
ig logitech didn't wanna redo the g502X again
I enjoy the revised v2 optical on my rvu
the V2 and V3 ones are just tighter tolerances
which were a problem on the v1
mind you cooler master uses an unmodified version of that switch
give me a rope
aka the fake 2khz that corsair for example did
fake 2khz?
🗿
not aware of any mouse that actually does 2khz so far
why is tech such a joke nowadays

m2k does true 2khz
most of them just go for 4khz or 8khz
yea but is not capped at 2khz
there are a number of mice that do 2khz but not as a maximum or out of the box
but if it was wireless it probably couldnt do more
Nvidia-all gpus besides the 4090 suck, AMD-cpus explode, Intel-cpus draw as much power as a 3090, Logitech-stagnation, Apple-same phone for 5 years
like holy shit
the viper mini signature edition actually does 8khz
well to be fair to apple they did add satellite
i stand corrected
AMD CPUs don't explode anymore
lol
was an issue for a short while
thats irrelevant
mainly

shouldnt be a shocker
really should not be
asus auto volts is a meme
my b550 asus bios is almost perfect, idk abt the overvolt shit tho
new plattform usually already tends to mean that all manus basically rng their bios
and now asrock is top dog from what I know
not like it matters much with am5
I like my asrock boards
thank god i bought a 5800x3d
I would get a B650E taichi if I upgraded to 7000
i just hope todd howard releases starfield in a good enough state that a 3090ti can atleast do 1080p 60 fps
does it have 3 m.2 slots?
Part of me still considers one of those
just do it
They are getting cheaper every month
i bought mine for 300
I have a 5600x
it was 20% faster than my 5950x in gaming
and id get the one asrock w790 if i upgraded my cpu
razer doesnt do 8khz? wat
wireless only on the vmse
keep reading ye
ye ofc
ulx 8khz wireless 😄
i wonder if any of you can actually tell between 1 or 8k
not blindly especially
i can easily
when my computer is lagging to death its 8khz 🤣
Yeah, 1gen5 and 2gen4
i wanna move to nvme only so that's why, but thats good
5800x3d gang
I also got some b-die recently too for my x3d
im doing really badly on storage,(the 200gb ones are satas) and my nvme is a 970 evo plus
i want a 990 pro 2tb and a 980 pro 500gb for a boot drive
Ye I stopped all that
@old marlin
Just got a 2tb ssd
nvme overall is kinda unecessary for most stuff
1tb nvme for os
no its not
that is not a product that someone unrelated has
finalmouse claims a lot of shit
it is for most people and usecases
i'm not most people
especially if it is not your bootdrive
oh yea I am sure you will need it for your data influx buffer
so you can do compute much faster
I don't need it, I want it
or for your 8k raw video scrubbing
it is helpful in every scenario that has data that is accessed randomly
or for your stupid large renders
it is marginally useful for most people
now the amount by which it is helpful is limited, but actually the smaller each part of data is the more useful it is
if you really think that cutting a 20 second load time to 19.5 is useful then sure
with modern huge games you can often see huge popin issues on sata
show me
especially ratchet and clank
would be news to me
have you played star citizen?
I'm still on all sata
is it released yet?
nvm, rvmse is 8khz wireless
nah its in perpetual development
that is what I said
why would you lol
how is it annoying
idk I expect like fallout 4 in space
why would you expect fallout 4 in space
Xbox game pass gets Starfield
cause it looks like that
I'm getting the 5 day early one from steam
Because it looks ass
have you played fallout 4?
eh
It's not edgy hating
but thats implying the older games hold up on their own too
and worse performance
yea no shit
I don't understand why people have such a boner for Bethesda games
^
mine dips into the 20s easily because its cpu bound
cause you are kinda limited in options for open world rpgs
F4 was abysmal, it looked ugly, the combat was god awful, the engine was hot garbage, the mechanics were old and all sorts
because Skyrim is goated
they are fine and theres plenty of time to waste in them, but they arent that fun
people also have a boner for witcher 3 and cyberpunk
was
it still is
wdym combat was god awful
do you think of 76
It's probably the last game that was actually decent
there is no chance that its in the top 10
Skyrim with mods still holds up very well
Animations, the gun control etc
its my favorite game of all time
thats like saying quake (original) still holds up in modern shooters because csgo is on the same engine lol
what
well teeeeechnically csgo is a mod of a mod of a mod of a mod of a mod of original quake
tbh I don't see how improving those would actually help the combat
therefore quake still holds up
I don't think you understood what i meant
imo it is limited by it relying on numbers a whole lot
so they can't just give you a good feeling shotgun
Skyrim has a shit ton of gameplay mods that can give new life in to the game and the quests are really good
Idk, it's hard to describe, I just feel like it's sluggish and horrible feeling wise.
Or well old
Even though it's a "modern" game
alright but the game itself is rather dead
dead?
you can bring your own fun, but otherwise its just a place
it has 250h of content in it
Fallout 76 was peak Bethesda.
LOL
the encyclopedia has 20k+ hours of content in it lmao
i think you are actually braindead
Now that was me baiting and trolling.
do you not enjoy reading the encyclopedia?
Lol
You should say that Fallout 76 is their best running game with no bugs
that would've just taken the shit
i need to rewatch the Internet Historian video on it
i mean when i think of bethesda thats what i think of
making it feel tight would make balance very hard

like if they just gave you movement and weapon handling from bl2 making somewhat okay ai would be hard
I really wanted to be optimistic for starfield and I was up until they originally announced it was using the garbage engine.
I don't have much faith despite footage
Um
prey was a fantastic game
I hope they don't add Denuvo to it and I hope modders get in quick
but it was not made by bethesda
Newer version of an engine is not a new engine
well unless it is
Ik

why do i expect good takes out of an anime pfp
not all drawings are anime lol
that's even worse
I mean the engine apparently was mostly redone
We'll see.
yea the engine is very obviously improved
but the question is how bethesda will it be
Ship of theseus engine
I'll genuinely be happy to backtrack everything and take a if I'm wrong.
my problem however with bethesda and many of the very open games is the content is actually not interesting
like theres a ton of content
and its all quality
but its all boring
I mean i would bet on the gunplay being very similar to fo4
Which i would be fine with
If the rpg part of the game is good
I hope they atleast gave it more variance
see but variations on tedium is still tedium
they better not go on their twitter and change the game from RPG to Action Adventure 6 hours before launch like CDPR did
cyperbunk is more rpg than skyrim tho
??????
like you can actually be different characters
Is it
what the fuck
I mean
and i dont just mean game statistically
i mean in regards to the story
Cyberpunk is not even that rpg
no but at least theres more than 1 option of what role to play
idk cyberpunk just hits a different niche imo
different kind of character development
almost none of ur choices matter, the characters are goofy asf, the story is fucking carried by silverhand
perks of not being a silent protagonist
except for the choice of uh how the entire game plays out?
you have no choice in that
now to be fair its not as many ways as witcher 3 or especially witcher 2
but there are actual differences to how the game ends
there are entire parts of the story that can be missed
yep
the exact mechanic you use to apply the dammage changes but eh
yep
and cyperbunk has the same issue of weak final boss unless you input the konami code or some shit, but the missions you will have played through to get to the end will likely be at least slightly different from everyone else
i spent significantly more time in skyrim trying to find fun, but it just didnt happen
it was like an hour or 2 of fun, and a hundred or 2 of tedium
cyperbunk was around 20 of fun and 20 of tedium id say
you at least have a lot more flavor besides the main story

main story is paced pretty badly towards the end
would be my main gripe
yea but in skyrim the flavor of the randomly generated quests is that of salted cardboard
the filler in cyberpunk isnt fantastic, but its better than that by far
again bethesdas games are great because you can bring your own fun
but if thats not the experience you want or expect from a game, they will disappoint you like they did for me

at some point people have to accept that certain games are the peak of what will ever be made that would be similar to them
I very much doubt that we will ever get another good borderlands game for example
or anything similar
something similar will happen eventually
we may not survive that long (personally or as a species lol)
Skyrim mostly was a sandbox with indeed a very bad main story.
it may not be called borderlands, but theres always something to pick up the slack
is there really
eventually
Played more timing tuning it with mods than actually playing it.
Borderlands I enjoyed the first one but 2 was kind of meh and then I kind of stopped.
thing is the other stuff was just stumbling around into dungeons or a longer quest line
I got like ~100 hours in bl1
and 340 in 2

I honestly think it would have been a better game with a smaller or more sparse world and higher quality content.
skyrim that is.
yea
cause the dungeons were kinda eh
very copy paste
fallout 4 imo does a little better in that regard
the stuff you stumble into tends to be more interesting
Yea it does.
Still in general I feel like there is nothing wrong with having a smaller more elaborate world.
Or if you go big, just have it as landscape to traverse through for scale and some enemy encounters along the way.
It's still on my backlog, should play it someday.
and it didnt feel substantially smaller if you include the outskirts of town
you barely were in the outskirts though
i spent a while exploring the areas around cyberpunk on my own, and while i called it tedium it was somewhat fun
each area had its own character really
is it pi 4s
usb 3 ports
Yes
Only introduced on the pi 4 so there is that
yum
Either way it seems like these scooters smell of start up money and not a lot of optimizing at scale, probably all off-the-shelve parts.
why tf would people have buyers remorse by buying the peerless assasin
the video won't get clicked without clickbait
it has to be this way
so the title is bullshit
and should just be "new peerless assassin better blah blah"
Ironically the peerless assasin is still cheaper on amazon for me lol
I'm genuinely glad I got this cooler
how so their darwin/xnu kernel is also open source i believe link
I was genuinely impressed with it
I got the white one
Never going back to aio, then again I said that before when I went to noctua
Tbh
It just made sense with how good it was
For me
I was ready to get a noctua again
Huh?
I was going to go back to noctua because of my past experience
I loved my dh15
Not sure what you mean by fomo
Im still confused
Ah
could use that for any company that has a loyal following
sadly I need my cuDNN
I can't afford it and I have a 3080
yea nvidia has their hooks in me too
broadcast, optix, dlss
please tell me this is photoshopped
for rendering
nvidia 3d vision 💀
rip
I never messed around with it
I also have one of the first 3d vision monitors
i have one that is capable but ive never used it
same
ive used tridef vr to use 3dvision titles with a vr headset tho
starting to see the reason why it got killed off
its actually awesome tho my computer at the time could not run an entire aaa game + 3d vision + vr on top of it
its such a shame that freesync is so much less stable than gsync tho 😦
nvidia lightboost, idk what that even was set to accomplish
precursor to ulmb
but also compatible with gsync
its extremely awesome, it was the first sync + blur reduction
and still one of the only ways to do that still
it obviously had the strobe problem, but well thats how it be
It was just already a Vesa standard
yea i cant fault amd, its nvidias fault that they never bothered to make asics or make gsync a standard
it wasnt freesync tho
it was hdmi vrr
I have no clue what you want so cant help
we dont sell skill
tell windows about the fps to use for your monitor
win key + i
i usually have it on but this thing is making me mad
go to display settings
check it even knows the fps of your monitor
you dont play with 2000fps menus?
smh
Just wondering you don't have vsync on right?
vsync is not on
disabled in the nvidia control panel i think
so it wont work anyways lel
i mean a good next step is to play good games
have you tried playing pokemon go?
yes
Ok I'll have to correct you here
Freesync is just VRR
AMD didn't develop freesync
It just labeled HDMI VRR as FreeSync
no
its vesa adaptive sync
There was no development on AMDS part
Yeah
AMD just branded a standard as their own
they somehow shoved vesa adaptive sync into an hdmi port for pc monitors
They didn't put in any of the legwork
well they did
its actually not easy to tune a display controller
and they did take part in developing the standard into products
its not like nvidia where they reinvented the wheel ofc
Nvidia always introduces their features vendor locked, the only way they could do that is when they had a display controller as well. Hence the gsync module.
They could however have licensed it to display controller manufacturers...
And GSync is still superior. FreeSync is a mess.
GSync can do down to 1HZ. FreeSync can mean anything
You can have FreeSync ranges of 100-144HZ
Or 60-144
or 30-144, if yer lucky
But it's very random and you can't know
And gsync guarantees variable overdrive
FreeSync Premium also doesn't mean anything. There's some of those that claim 30-whatever max refresh rate is
But when if you actually test it, it's like 80 minimum refresh rate
SpecialK can expose the actual minimum refresh rate VRR is active at
Instead of what that displayID says
To be fair, gsync repeats frames under 30hz
Yeah
I can fault them for Freesync premium but free sync is nothing more than AMD branding on adaptive sync, it has no real requirements.
But,
But it does it on the monitor side not the gpu
A lot of 60-240HZ FreeSync displays double anything under 102HZ
That's a problem tho
So what are the differences in requirements between freesync and gsync compatible
With FreeSync you never know if you're gonna get a good display or crap display without reviews. With normal GSync you know you're gonna get 60HZ min. With PRemium, 30HZ min and using LFC down to 1HZ
Nvidia gsync compatible at least guarantees a not atrocious experience, but they didn't try very hard so that their true gsync would still have an edge
I thought all gsync modules guarantee down to 0
And gsync compatible requires below 60 tho not necessarily below 48
GSync ultimate is pretty great yeah
Pricey to be sure, but you know it's gonna be a great experience
i have a question
so if i use a display port can my monitor run up to 165 hz unlike the hdmi where it can be only be set to 144hz? (my monitor support 165hz)
Y eah my Alienware OLED is Ultimate, using SpecialK I can actually confirm it goes down to 10HZ natively before LFC / Frame doubling kicks in
Which is impressive
Yeah
And my almost 10 year old Asus with the original gsync module can sync down to zero, the lfc kicks on somewhere presumably under 20
"this is not how the bearing is supposed to look under normal operation"
Wow no shit Martin lol
Well reading the manual is hard it seems
There's also added latency with monitors that have a gsync module
Yes and no
They introduce some latency like all LCD controllers
But they also allow you to do some tricks to reduce latency
The brain to brain feedback loop through mouse and computer and monitor and eye is quicker on a synced display, and the lowest latency way to avoid tearing is through gsync
Scan line sync is better but it's also extremely intensive on the computer as well as being banned from most competitive games
there is a meta vr event soonish
and we got index during one so
thats best copium I can offer
Full gaming PC with AMD RX 7900 GRE now at €999 We aim to keep our readers informed about the best deals on new graphics cards, but finding affordable options for AMD’s latest RX 7900 GRE GPU has proven to be quite challenging. This model is primarily targeted at the Chinese DIY market, but some […]
Comes with a full PC?
Buy a GRE, get a PC
you mean like I already posted here xD
Sorry boss, don't remember what we did 3 days ago
um...
damn
that ain't bad
at all
That in fact is really good
I tried configuring a custom PC a few weeks back, a full rig was well above 1 grand, and with a worse GPU
Here the main questions are obviously, how shit the PSU is, how bad is the case, how bad is the SSD, etc
I would also like some bencmarks of the card first
havent seen any yet
and some china video I cant readt doesnt tell me what I want to know
Do a favour for all of us and buy it
nah HUB said they have a card coming
-_- literally just the business world being years behind the consumers on really obvious stuff
why the fuck can’t android phones have good haptic feedback
genuine question
why has apple come up with their shit ages ago and we still get $0.01 vibration motors in android phones
still not even close
What device?
last time i touched a samsung fold something i was disgusted
I guess a thing to consider is another one could do it justice. Since one screen probably has some feels on it and on top of that it is strongest in one spot
Might also not help they are using a lot of plastic on the front🤷
the problem is the iphone haptic is so insanely weak despite how huge it is
sure its precise
but i cant feel it
It also got downsized after the 8
my samsung i can hear
what still is a mystery is why even budget phone manufacturers are refusing to spend an extra couple of cents per unit
afaik they made it slightly stronger and it more changed shape than pure volume
bigger problem is the tradeoff
the thing the iphones have is almost speaker level
like maybe up to 100hz
nowhere near as good as the steam controller ofc but they are working on it
one of tens of thousands, excellent
thats a $600+ phone lol
that is also an issue
Yes but at least it trickles into midrange
well its also ostensibly one of the best examples of companies trying to improve
thing is
Eventually maybe even that crappy $100 Amazon phone will get it
an actual motor with a mass on the end will do the job better than the iphones
despite feeling worse to type with
Definitely a lot louder
the fact budget phones sound like fucking bees
tbh the iphone is shockingly loud for the lack of vibration i feel
(a phone shouldn’t sound like a bee, generally)
per unit amount of energy put into my leg i suspect most are around the same level
its literally trying to vibrate and thats the definition of sound
Mine is pretty strong my buddy said it felt stronger compared to his iPhone 12
my ages old iphone also vibrates, yet it can click and not sound like a bee
yes but your ages old iphone (presumeably) doesnt transmit as much feeling into a leg if its in a pocket as those bee sounding ones
if apple had it in the past and just didnt have it in their new stuff that would be awful
Or if they removed like 3d touch
that is true, don’t think i’ve ever had an issue identifying something has vibrated though
3d touch is asshole ux design, honestly glad it’s gone
yea my legs arent particularly sensitive (i guess), so its a bigger problem for me
Some people loved it but alright a lot of people had no idea it existed
and my s21 has a horrific bee problem if its on a table without a case and vibrates
when its in the case tho i can put it on my bedside table and it will actually vibrate my bed
Could also depend on clothing layers or thickness
my pockets are very thin
i only buy 1 type of pants and 1 type of shorts
i can just barely feel the iphone if its pressing against something, if im walking theres no chance
my samsung ive missed once or twice but its more rare
Some company I remember made two variants of a phone one had an x and another z one of them did not transfer much energy to sound
that’s one pro of having hairy as fuck legs i guess
was referring to not looking the greatest in shorts due to a fucking jungle on my legs, guess i have to appreciate it now
i just avoid caring outside of work, and at work its supposed to be business attire anyways
thing is tho i dont really care about how well it vibrates on a table
if it shakes up and down in my pocket i may actually be able to feel it i dunno
Fair enough
Also hollow one more thing to this is how the manufacturer implements vibrations to the ui
Android manufacturers vary these
iOS might have it implemented across the UI far more or like how iOS had the vibrator linked to ringtone song that was only a recent addition to stock android.
building a new pc
motherboard manual says to plug power cable from aio into w_pump+ header on mobo whereas the manual for the aio says to plug it into the cpu_fan header
follow the aio manual
okay ty
Hunh
It's $450
Must have been thinking of a different phone
450 msrp?
it was at msrp for a whopping 2 days here
actually a good phone
am considering switching to it since miui pisses me off so much
Anyone excited for the iPhone 15?
what's gonna be different from iphone 14 pro
It's one more
Bro got his hands on the new cable free GPUs
Also fuck you
This shit looks amazing bro good job
That anime pfp could change but you’re making progress
Only 1 aio fan?
There are two though?
not dumb
actually right
it won't be complete for a while
I bought two 140 fans for the top and a 120 for the back but the motherboard is too close to the top and blocks the second 140 fan
so im gonna return them and the 120 and get a 3 pack of 120s which will all fit
cant mount any on the bottom sadly
What about tube routing of 4 with rad placement of 2
sounds like 1
Sorry I meant 2
I had my last cooler mounted like that with no problems but Ye I’ve heard of that
the point of 4 is the tubing being at the top
which you dont want
The clearance is awful with it at the bottom and it can’t be top mounted
Just have your PC upside down
tbf that would fix it
if you use your pc upside down from its build orientation it would invert the image
I don’t understand
you dont want air bubbles to rise into where the tubing is or the block
how so its very simple really with AiOs
Wait, what about if your PC is small
And the loop is on its side
Like how I have mine mounted
good question i wouldnt know nor do i build SFFs ever again
broke my fingers once that was enough
build an sff and you know the pain
of cramming, not being able to reach some areas easily
squishing AiO tubes when closing
crying you might have broken it
and then it somehow turns on and works
That’s the fun of it
no i like midi and fullsize cases
SFF is so stupid to me
like just chuck fuckoff large under desk
problem solved
you get actualyl good temps and noise
and don't have to dread the next gpu gen to be too big to fit
Sounds like you can’t tune a fan curve
sounds like I don't need to tune a fan curve
😂😂 fair enough
I already deal with enough PC bs at work
don't wanna do it at home
just needs to work
You mean to tell me you don’t like excruciatingly tight fits, near impossible cable management, easily stripped screws and painful disassembly for simple parts?
I thought I did - Until I had to actually do it
no, not really
Missing out lol

Interesting, wonder if it's gonna be more that a USB-C port conversion over the original
I'm sure marketing wise they'll say it's much better
I mean it'd probably be 8KZ given the year
Is there any possible way to make the wooting 60he faster?
