sorry i had to
Ya tit
no
oh I know, P tripple G
👍

guessing you missed that episode of south park
I really love AKG. Like, a lot. Like, a whole lot. You have no idea. I love AKG so much that it is inexplicable, and I'm ninety-nine
percent sure that I have an unhealthy obsession. I will never get tired of listening to those sweet frequencies created by those beautiful dynamic drivers
. It is my life goal to meet up with the head of Harman Audio in real life and just say hello to them.
I fall asleep at night dreaming of them holding a personal listening demo for me, and then after
that I would then be able to take home whatever AKG Headphone I'd like to keep, I could die happy.
I would give up almost anything just for AKG to look in my general direction. No matter what
I do, I am constantlythinking of them. When I wake up, AKG is the first thing on my mind.
When I go to school, I can only focus on AKG. When I go come home, I go on the computer
so that I can listen to my AKG K702's beautiful voice. When I go to sleep, I dream of her and I living a happy life together.
She is my pride, passion, and joy. If she were to give me any less bass I would probably get diabetes from her high frequencies and die.
I wish for nothing but their success. If it were for them, I would give my life slaving away making headphones without any second thoughts.
Without them, my life would serve no purpose. I really love AKG.
@pale sigil

I mean if it was moondrop I might have believed it was a vex post
LMFAO
I mean
Most of AKG's headphones sounds a bit too sharp in the highs for me.
I did not
Which is why I said I don't think "vex" understood
I think you're the only one who did
88 times
Keyboard not working after driver update
How to deal with it?
reading chinese isn’t exactly something i’m very good at personally
Sometimes the desktop app works better in these cases
@final flame Who are you
Don't steal my identity
That's my a bit weird little cousin
Glaxes, screw off
lol
And seriously, AKG is the best you can buy under 200$
There is nothing better
But you will have to rewrite that whole story into R70x soon

Gurl, please get 8 hours of sleep
Also maybe some calming meds before hand so you can sleep well
Internet cousins
I guess tired makes horny as well
Well in this case it'd be more like stuck in your RAM stick
Abuse me a million dollars somehow and that'll be more interesting
How on earth do you buy an ATM
This has to be a north american thing
Hi, A few of us online have continued to investigate the wide-ranging rumours floating out there about the "sd card reader burning out. It sounds to some of us like it's not a heat issue at all, but rather a question of the mount and sync timing of the current PCIe memory storage controller driver...
Running anything as root means it's very vulnerable, avoid root at all costs
Try downloading the app instead maybe. I couldn't do it it through my browser personally.
Oh someone already said that
you could also just run a keylogger from a browser tab if they run xorg :3
Some linux distros have pretty decent security set up for end users. RHEL's SELinux configuration is pretty decent.
I think I petted a horse once, maybe I qualify as a horse bro
RHEL implements full MAC via SELinux
I always go in here expecting some, idk, tech articles or debate around a device of some sort. But every time I feel dumber because y'all talk in code
(I don't mind it, I just feel dumber
)
I can rant (mald) about devices if you want 🙃
Why the fuck are there 0 decent OLED monitors for under $10,000
What are you talking about
I'm malding about having money and no products that match my unreasonable standards okay
let me cook
There are plenty of OLEDs and beyond like mleds
"0 decent" is just like, wtf
Get the odyssey ark you infidel if you need some freaky shit
The brightest full screen brightness OLED desktop monitor I found was 270cd/m^2
Odyssey ark is a MiniLED monitor that I did consider
you do know you are looking at OLED
Why the fuck are there 0 perfect monitors for under $10,000
Exactly :3
doesn't even do your taxes
Look I'm used to Macbook screens okay :c
So bad displays
Which are sold by samsung to apple
Yet ark is not good enough
Funny
Yes now I want samsung to sell those screens to me
at 24-32inches
These displays are nuts, would be nice if samsung sold them to more than just apple 🙃
Okay that's my malding about monitors done :3
OLED G9/Neo G9 and Ark
dough
not even the main problem with dough
There are TVs with 450 full screen brightness and phones with static UI elements with >600cd/m. I understand OLED has issues driving high brightness and I would like to solve these issues with Money 🙃
Just charge $5k
We have a 44MP MicroLED display at my university's museum that I played around with for a bit.
you could bind it to a key or copy/paste it from https://home.unicode.org/ when you need it
i got those on my keyboard, but no upside down h ÷×
samsung's current microLED pitch is quite large, and also ridiculously expensive
an 8k panel currently cost around $400k for low volume orders.
honestly i don't understand the ridiculous pricing on the 240hz oled monitors
(square)
ok its a rectangle if you want to go for technicalities 😬
That display was $2.2M :c
how can a 65" 4k 100hz oled tv be cheaper than 27" 1440p 240hz monitor?
also 140 less hz
TVs also have easier time dealing with burn-in and can use lower quality panels.
yeah the 65 inches is the part that would make this probably very niche
LG Electronics announced today that their curved 55" OLED TV is now available in the US, exclusively through Magnolia stores inside Best Buy. The 55EA9800 costs $14,999 (in South Korea it costs around $13,500) and it is currently on display in Best Buy's store in Richfeld, Minnesota. In the following weeks more stores will display and sell the OL...
Yep as with everything
wonder how long it's gonna take for oled monitors to become more "normal people" friendly
pricing wise
It's a little ironic since OLED panels are generally cheaper to produce than TFTs.
"paying premium" i could buy an m2 air macbook for the same price of that asus oled
at least with czech prices, not sure how it looks in different places
Dell OLED monitors are $900 in U.S ($200 cheaper than M2 air)
iPads have support for Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro so there's that too
The XDR displays on the macbooks have their peak brightness locked behind Apple's EDR API (not accessible through settings), and you need a third party app (such as BetterDummy) to configure the display to run at its advertised brightness
couldn't find any dell oleds here
they are also not OLEDs
so they will be brighter
With the Alienware AW3423DW 34.18-inch Quantum Dot-OLED Curved Gaming Monitor, you can immerse yourself in the ultimate gaming experience. With its impressive 3440x1440 pixel resolution and a lightning-fast 175Hz refresh rate, every detail comes to life with stunning clarity. The 1800R curvature ...
Alienware is owned by Dell
I don't have a problem with MiniLED displays as long as they have reasonable dimming zones to deal with bloom.
oh they call it QD-OLED, i was filtering only by OLED
The monitors I'm considering currently is the Odyssey Ark and Philips Envia 7000
asus pg27aqdm for me
but i think my zowie xl2546 is gonna last me another decade :D
Personally I'd like a full screen brightness of at-least 500cd/m^2
Looks fine to me
I don't get any noticable blooming on my unit
The upscaler in the macbooks display controller is a bit annoying at times
It runs on any video content rendered by VTB, and has no API to disable it :c
no, idk what that is
I use IINA for playing HDR videos
the hardware upscaler is decent but does tend to oversharpen some content
I'd prefer it if they made it a toggleable option in settings instead of just having it forced on for VTB content.
I dropped mpv after I stopped bugfixing for it. It continuously had performance regressions on MacOS since their only test for passing is basically "it runs".
I gave up PRing performance fixes and it has ridiculously high resource usage now on MacOS.
Recent developments in the RDNA 3 platform called for another update in this series, so I started with a refresh of my benchmarks but…
Nice, we love performance sidegrades
The interpolation stuff is interesting. They managed a non-ML based model that works?
I wouldn't be surprised if companies find it is more profitable to exclude the EU than it is to implement removable batteries.
That is historically just not accurate.
The EU was also historically larger before 2020 :3

I really need to replace this damn hard drive
?
what's so funny about that
wait
I have somehow associated you sending that with mansens emote
I am stupid

but also

that statistic still includes the UK in the exact same way
yes
it separates by region
not political whatevers
considering europe is apples second strongest region
I would doubt they would drop most of it entirely
yea
your statistic includes the lower end that is not represented in the west that much
and not at all by apple
no the SE for 550€ new is not low end before anyone asks
at least gets to the goal
if we have to coax companies into sustainability for marketing that is still good ig
Only works with our own 300 dollar batteries*
That's another EU thing. Can't enforce that.
You always see clone batteries coming out of China. The US just has a hard on for illegally enforcing Apple's trademarks due to extreme lobbyism.
I regularly installed offbrand batteries for iPhones while I was a PC/Phone tech.
Samsung also wants to have an exclusive right to control any imports of OLED screens or something
I mean if it means in the end that some company can swoop up old iphones, retrofit some shittier third party aftermarket battery and sell them en masse in an emerging market that is still good?
Then offer it at a fair market price and do an honest comparison.
Trying to illegally have any off-brand batteries seized is not going to win you any favours longterm.
Tough luck.
Your battery isn't rocket science. It is largely just a giant battery cell.
technically would be illegal in germany to overprice them if it is just a battery
not like any big company will care about that
Your circuitry may have some actual development put into it, but again. Under fair repair laws, you need to provide these at a fair market price to consumers and competitors.
Intent is the keyword.
I somehow doubt that - Because they'd have to cut corners to the point of them not following safety specs.
And that still falls on Apple to justify in marketing as to why you should get a genuine battery - Instead of trying to prevent the use of such.
where would be the downside of that?
if you buy a phone aftermarket and it has a shitty battery you could still easily replace it with a known good quality one
and don't need to risk breaking the screen or something
8000 hz isn't a piss take?
it is. very few games even support it
only now are games getting on board with 4k hz and even then its spotty
Is there a point or just marketing?
marketing
For mice it makes sense
its really only razer doing it
which is at odds with the benefit it provides. its more noticable at really high fps, but using it lowers fps
Because at higher fps you need higher hz to keep a smooth mouse tracking, so it’s nice for now cut will be more important when we get even higher refresh screens
If you are bottlenecked by cpu sure
Well the higher usage was partly a windows issue that is fixed in recent versions
8k hz will create bottlenecks
But hundreds of fps might not be that much of a difference losing 100 fps
For greater input granularity
but in that drop you may also lose any noticable benefit of 8k
So benefit is marginal and ultimately pointless unless you are like top 10 in your game
?
and even then pros are still using 1k
Pros don’t always use the best settings :p
if the best at a game arent using it, what difference is it going to make for randoms other than to brag about it.
most casuals wont even notice the difference
It’s diminishing returns sure and it won’t be the reason you get from gold to masters but it’s can be the reason sometimes you get a kill or miss, just much less than knowing positions or aim or w/e
the video is 2 years old. this isnt the first time some of us have heard of 8k polling
click latency is probably a way bigger factor, iirc there's some huge variance there
congrats on learning about 8k polling just today
games are not the main issue
it is more how windows handles HID
which is much less of an issue in the latest win 11 update
also some people have absolutely bloated windows installs
that can't even handle 1000hz mice
ive played games recently as in like over the weekend that stutter over 1k polling. there is for sure a wondows aspect to it but games play a role too
welp then your install is bloated af
gl
apex director had the same problem
he blamed it entirely on the mouse polling rate
ig what you would expect from apex
watched the video. the latency improvement and consistency increase are to small to waste a thought about it when buying a mouse.
the most interesting part are the pixel error rates but even that only gives a benefit in big and fast flicks.
part of becoming a fps player is figuring out your crosshair placement ahead of time and stabilizing your aim so that you dont find yourself flicking constantly most of the time with most weapons so even those improved pixel error rates are to small to really matter
essentially boils down to this
you get motion jitter
so if you use 240hz or above
you should consider getting more hz out of your mouse
instead of just upping monitor hz again and again
thank you for that data. is that from a paper ? that looks like it would be interesting to read.
my point is though that while jitter inherently is undesirable it still doesnt make 8000hz a significant selling point for most people because the impact of jitter is lower the slower people move their mouse and that that is something that they do naturally as they get better and develop a stable aim + good crosshair placement -> reduces the need the need to flick as often and reduces the length of the needed flick.
thank you
in the conclusion it says they gathered top 20% players and the jitter had no effect on their performance
Blur busters has some good articles on high polling together with high frame rates at that’s their MO but would need to look for them
probably emergency services or sth
2G more reliable for calls
Odd, my phone uses 2G already for those, so this sseems to be irrelvant for me
maybe it is for people still using old phones
2G is for a ton of fallback services, AMAZING range. Anything IOT that's phone based is typically 2G
2G is used for calling yes
hhm
And prolly that's why it is still important
I imagine a lot of phones might become unusable if 2G goes away
Mhmm. Think cellphone, not smartphone 😄
Oo
Which old peeps still use
Or some work peeps
Also less rich areas
There is no reason to shut down 2G imo
3G? Eh, that shit is barely usable anyways
IOT is also generally SMS based as a fallback for internet/power loss. So many sim cards out there only used to send emails basically.
"POWER LOSS at 10:34"
Lol, imagine you get lost in the forests, got struck by an avalanche, fell down a mountain crevice or something
Use the emergency button:
5G isn't available in your area
Git fuks
A good watch with satellite connectivity would
Never really looked up on those satellite gears
I mean the new iPhones have emergency messages via gps now iirc?
last I heard they were triggering when people were on rollercoasters. not sure if thats been fixed tho
thats was months ago if I recall
Well that’s the automatic ones I meant the option to send a short message to let people know you are safe or need help when cellular connection is gone
they reasonably cant
2g is by far the most robust and best network for emergency related things
in basically any country
It used to have good range and be fast enough for videos now it’s usually not working. But for me e now barely ever works too
and sms alarms and gamecams and anything basically
A lot of vital infrastructure
2g also dosent use bands that want for more 4g
or thier license for that band only allows for gsm
in us i think only tmobile has gsm and its going to shut down soon
Australia has actually shutdown all its 2g networks
3G seems to slow down as they cannibalize a lot of the radio bands for us in 4G since that is now used by almost everyone
Oz is also currently fazing 3G out, it's going to be totally shutdown in 2024
Phones don't even get the option to choose 2g
hey guys, dose anyone know if the reddragon k565 rudra rg keyboard is compatable with the wooting software, they claim to have linear red switches, but i dont know if im doing something wrong as the keyboard isnt being picked up by the software. any help would be amazing
Nothing is compatible with OUR software except for OUR keyboards.
awe, dam, should look into makeing some other keyboard compatable with the software as you guys do it so well... unless its gonna cause legal issues...
More like peripheral companies need to make their own software less obnoxious and shit
people without the keyboard a worse off switches would use your software and over time as they start needing a new keyboard/ rage that their keyboard isnt good enough it will click in ther head about your guys keybaord deu to the fact of useing your software to improve their over all exprience with their keyboard, alot of the time, ill look at something that has improved my exprience with something and ill say huh i wonder if they do this or that, ill look and low and behold thats how i came accross my new reddragon keyboard after useing some of their mouse mats and one of their realllllyyyyy old mice. things like that will happen if you help improve the over all use for other keyboards, and due to the fact that you guys are super nice friendly and then have a software out there, you could also have small reminders on the app to show when a new product are coming out / when they are back in stock. ontop of that, fetures that only work with your keyboards are locked to that keyboard.
and that yea!
sorry was makeing an entire pitch XD
Lol what, this is a business, not a charity
Wooting is a business
Counterpoint: Competitors make similar keyboards, and rely on our software for free. 😄
Then we make zero money in that scenario.
Depends
It's a charity to me
They spoil me
Pleasant, you are a special case
thats why you lock it down to only have the base stuff not everything

the whole point of the software is to support wooting customers who have paid for that support. giving that support to people who have not paid for it is not sustainable for a business. If you have an issue with the software with a redgragon board and reach out for help with it, you are now absorbing time and money from a company you have not given any money to
Another thing to note is it takes up a significant amount of time to support other products.
Tbf Razer products would be actually not horrible as an experience if they utilized Wootility
Same shit with logi
at least logi doesnt try to install alexa or phillips hue with it
Glorious did well and blatantly copied Wootility, and good job from them
i mean think about it, ontop of haveing "reminders" about product updates, you also have users that want to use your keyboard but one ether dont have the money or are waiting on the product to arrive getting updates on shipments and updates about deals/ price changes and its always letting them know, hey, were just arround the corner
true XD
Our API still is. Anyone's welcome to add Analog to their software, so that we can create a common ecosystem for analog.
But alas...
yeah I kinda want wooting to make a mouse not nescessarily because they'd actually find anything to innovate much on but to avoid having to use ghub or some other crap

people who dont have the money for a wooting board are inherently NOT wooting customers tho and would actively detract from supporting paying customers experiences if resources were diverted from them to fix something that popped up from a different brand
Having a mouse with not shit software to me is already enough innovation
i get it, its a pain, but i dont think alot of manufactures are gonna imploment it as they dont have the hardware demand for anolog from them to make it a viable market place for them.
Well now that everyone and their dog are copying rapid trigger, and adding hall effect switches, we might finally see a reason for game devs to adopt this.
Since it will cover several brands of keyboards, not just one.
If you really wanted and had dedication you can get wootility working with other keyboard
zowie and vaxee are teh big ones that come to mind for mice
just make it a true symmetrical, wireless, reasonably lightweight and maybe some fancy optical switches or something for good measure and its an ez buy for me
It would be jank, unethical and illegal
true, as a game dev myself i want to adopt it.
only issue for me to adopt it as a game dev is my work dosent see the point right now, we work on more..... story based games.
my managers dont see the point sadly.
Ngl having a "personality type" listen in your bio doesn't bode well for the potential quality of a game
but what if someone saw you supported it but couldnt afford the game. surely you would get them as a customer as soon as they had the money...
rapid trigger really taking my football manager 2023 sessions to the next level
I can now reload savegames 1% faster
this is my comissioner / personal account XD not my company account X3
Thanks rapid trigger
tapping through spreadsheets, such a drag before
Probably a furry
Takes one to know one
XD haha nah thanks XD
no company information leaks in my dms please XD
XD, then commission someone, X3, i dont work with avitars, i work with worlds X3, i dont think this is the place to talk about it anyway, there are many discords you can join to comsision people.
What about a not yet released product
I'm kidding haha
I just saw your bio when vex pointed it out
let me guess the wooting UwU XD
hahah, its all good bro dont worry
I cannot confirm or deny
All I know is that I'll slide you a box
With an item in it
That I could have accidentally put something in that isn't out yet
Jokes aside, I was considering an avatar once but it's so expensive to commission.
yea, it can get fairly expensive, best thing i can say, is look for a custom base and go from there, get a budget set and talk to a fer comissioners and see what u wanna do from there.
Aye, it's the rigging too tbag takes time.
I looked into it to do myself but it would take me longer to learn and I cba
ill be honest with ya... rigging.... is hummmm painfull to say the least.
There's them services but they don't really feel unique
If I have an avatar I want it to be 100% what I want vs picked from a lot of options
true, i get that, if u want hop into my dms and we can talk about it more, ill see if ive got any friends i can get you in contact with that might be able to get you what u want.
Tbh, I probably wouldn't indefinitely purely because of money rn
It's very low down on my list and not really affordable most of the time these days
Wootup drained my savings 😅
#WorthIT
sign up for all the ai betas and keep trying different ones until one that you like pops out
you only had that much saved?
I spent like 550 euro but tbh I also spent a lot during the month after going out
So I spent a grand or so
550 on wooting?
i have 2 boards and it wasnt that much
Lol, fucking savings on a keyboard
More important things that's for sure 😅
you say that but there are some crazy expensive keyboards
yeah
tho thats more for musicians
i mean they have made like 5 boards
so you could have them all
well lik 7 if you count switchs
Who?
Wooting?
Because technically
In the context of including none consumer boards
More than 7 😅
was there a difference in the founder and normal one?
I don't mean founder
there was that special keycap edition or something?
There was a 60% before 60he
yeah the one
The flare tech edition
that was offered for sale?
yea but how would you have spent money on it if it didnt go on sale lmao
Paying for the delivery cost to send to me

Ik im just kidding
but yeah
Didn't realize you meant consumer ones
Just in general
But ye it didn't finish because Lekker development
5 keyboards, 7 with haveing black/red flaretechs
It was nice though
but the boards are hotsawp so idk if that even counts
only if it is a different name
Well
More coming at least
Can't wait for the next one
People at wootup got a tease
It shouldn't?
There is no user record corresponding to this identifier. The user may have been deleted.
@vagrant pagoda correct email?
Recover account
Via password reset
What's the last wooting you bought
Recover password
where is the option
When they did a big change you had to do this or make a new account
And it'll detect past products
Access and edit your orders, connect your discord, and manage your Wooting account.
did you even make an account using the email you used to order
yes
then gotta recover
cause a lot of people think that ordering -> an account is created
revocer no work
@marsh glade
Mark can't do nothing to be fair.
Surely he could check if there's actually an account
You can throw me a PM with one of your old orders, and we can look into the account situation.
Tony can. Don't think Mark has access to those databases. No need.
Oh
least privilege and all that bs
sent all 3 of them
Well I'm mostly surprised as Mark usually has most access.
But I forgot Tony has backend
Future Tony handles all the cool interfaces. We generally don't need account data access.
Or well I was

Good mornin' lass
Nothing indecent
Maybe Wooting can secure their website and customer data by hiring you for security assurance
gm

Emoji to join rest of channels petition
Or at least captcha
Some server bots pull up a generated captcha
wha
Discord has moved beyond that. We have onboarding now.
An actual system.
What is onboarding?
admins can now force new people to view servers or post messages in them
Ah cool
Click the Channels and roles at the top of the channel list.
You can opt in and out of channels.
Sort of yes. And the ability to go back and opt channels at any time. I added this back around new years.
you can also make it so they need to accept the rules on the onboarding
pretty neat
It's good
Lets be real people can skip that lol
They can ignore them. But we can tell them they 100% were presented with rules.
^
So there's no "but I didn't know" excuses 😄
Fair enough
you NEED to checkmark it
So basically legal agreement got it
lowkey all you need to know when you're a decent person
Lol
This is actually amazing
All the shit apps like prime video and whatever will get paywalled and out of my face? Great
I don't use any of them anyways
This is horrible though
yea but they wont get out of your face is the problem
who or what is fymrin
Buying the product isnt enough, they always want more
Fymrin is shortened for fentanyl
Cause we all like drugs
im ok with the framework version of more tho
im not ok with the samsung/apple/microsoft/lg/everyone else version of more
to be fair microsoft now has 1 screw ssd replacement now, but the fact that we are able to replace the ssd at all is in question is really sad
how far tech has fallen
I use a Xilinx zynq 7010 soc to handle playing videos
yes
works for every tv unless they paywall hdmi
shield
ah sweet
i was considering a shield
can you miracast?
without root i dont see how to, and havent seen anyone trying with root
Your friendly neighbourhood local cybersecurity dabbler
why miracast
dex 😦
why you want dex on tv
Hello, fentanyl
not tv, monitor, but i dont want to have to boot up my pc, i want a single box to watch yt, disney+ :(, and whatever else i want
i currently have a chromecast 4k (without android tv) plugged straight into my kvm, and it cannot dex
Ngl sounds a bit much
also isnt dex over hdmi?
My LG CX has homebrew store, from there I have Jellyfin
On PC, download whatever movie, series, whatever you want, drop into Jellyfin, automatically appears on TV
dex supports hdmi, but my usb c port is dying, it cant charge and output video at the same time for some reason 😦
and its out of warranty
Jellyfin works for 4K HDR Dolby Atmos too, really well
Too bad I just don't watch anything that isn't anime
yeah its what i use
lmao
get Space Adventure Cobra
i watch the star wars tv shows 😠
Too old
its good
i just read
anime too slow, only like it at 1.5x but it feels odd to watch anime at 1.5x when i can just read
also GITS in 4k is good
What now
watch shows with better pacing lol
So you hate cartoons in general?
i havent seen Akira in 4k
nah no hate, I just don't like the slowness
good pacing doesnt mean fast
Most cartoons are similarly paced
but you just said for me to watch something with better pacing
If you want action, go watch a shounen
if its good pacing, it will take more chronological time, but feel very short
I've done that, still slow
I'm good with one piece at 1x but I don't feel like watching something I already read
have you tried watching them while not on stimulants
I stopped watching anime at 2015, I don't watch short content
I don't watch reels or tiktok, I just got used to reading manga/manhwa/manhua fast
so anime is slow
that's like, super easy to understand lol
I see, so that's what you are into
exchanged anime with reading
now that's just sad
I spend my time watching stuff on videos that r news, podcasts and courses instead
yea but the point of the medium is not to injest the story at maximum rate...
wait
I can provide you with some doujin fixes
I know my doujin circles
youtube on 1.5x is slow for you?
I watch movies and shows at 1x its okay
((when I do))
just not anime, cba
so find some anime that are as good as the shows you watch
there was an anime that i watched ages ago that had excellent pacing despite being extremely slow
it was a rather gritty take on isekai, not edgy, not a thriller, but moderately grimdark
i cant remember the name tho
Do you think it would be a bad idea to get a second router for my smart devices only
I enjoyed watching blacklist and the originals
after that it's been hard to find something enjoyable enough to just sit down and watch on 1x tbh
i have a $20 mini ap
ohh some gritty ones are nice
But the access point still connects to your main router
yeah but its on a different subnet
I've got a link for you, but it's borderline nsfw
So I feel shame to link it here
I kinda read so much manhwa/manga that watching anime feels like an extra time waste rn
need to soft drop some more stories tbh
i didnt even see they were talking about doujins
I was ignoring it as long as i could lol
LOL
Most smart devices do not generate enough load to impact modern routers. As long as you have a somewhat modern ARM/Broadcom processor, it wouldn't matter.
It's not that entirely
If your router is running an intel processor, it might have trouble handling more than a couple devices.
yeah when you visit manga websites your brain automatically adjusts to ignore the nsfw shit
true
Over time it becomes a habit over how much kink stuff there is
I want to separate my smart devices
I have like 2
20
And my router does sometimes not like that
you say that, but dpi is super rough
and any router that has an intel processor is either to old to be useful, or new enough that its insano expensive, and beyond most of our means...
gotta remember that intel is the king of routing between 10 and 200GBPS
and when you get that high, you start looking at 7 digits...
not true either
I'm referring to consumer grade routers, not enterprise switches :3
laughs in my 6 year old shitbox running opnsense
intel doesnt make switch chips
but yea if you are home, intel doesnt make any router chips
the options are build your own router which will work well, and any modern intel chip will be insane overkill
same as any other x86 practically tbh
like ion here
yeah
its a 4th gen i3
i have been thinking over trying openwrt
just because then ill be all linux
hmm that would probably bog down under 1gbps if you were using ipsec or wireguard tho right?
dont think 4th gen has the fancy crypto accelerators of the new chips
yeah they do
hunh
did not know
clarkdale had it
i know for sure tho they got an order of magnitude faster at both 7th and ice lake
still it goes fast
*brrr
Intel makes Lantiq modems and puma processors commonly used in routers.
They are very low end hardware that generally are not capable of handling more than 2-3 devices.
those have not been relevant for 10+ years
yeah
and neither of those use intel cpus, intel bought out the company that made them, then yeeted their router business
And it was so fucking bad
A few years ago
they presumeably bought them for the modem IP, and that ip has now been sold to apple
It's been in production up to 2019
Holy shit it made me pull my hair out
The Lantiq PSB 83654M released in early 2019
A lot of people still have devices that run intel hardware
Drove me fucking nuts
none of that is intel silcon though
Piece of shit Intel puma
Tbf the intel modem's in iPhones have also been dogshit
@cursive summit @gusty kiln
puma was intel silcon though
Lol
on the models where they had split supply, the qualcomm modem iPhones had typically twice the bandwidth over LTE than Intel's
They're electrostats
I can't imagine pissing off my wife or neighbors with speakers
Then I saw threads on it and Intel made a statement
Also I like the privacy and intimacy of headphones meself
Speakers I understand why people bop to, but not for me
They're good if you own your own place
Magnepan?
those arent cpus, just pcie modems
I do have my own place, but it's in an apartment building with thin walls
So I'm fucked on that end
that isnt your ownplace lol
and the modems are fine enough, just barely functional
but they have zero routing capability
I have no idea what they are tbh, they were bought used from a widow selling her husband's hifi stuff
Damn rip
i live in a 50s poured concreat bunker
They are really nice tho, but require a shit ton of power
so i let them rip
Yeah
Either a shit ton of current or voltage
or both lol
The processors are the SoC's that carried them, such as the Intel PXB4320ELV12
or it wont have enough voltage to drive them
Which are also dogshit
Plug directly into the power grid
lmao
Ginme dat nice 60hz hum
86db spl
that has been discontinued for 10+ years lmao
cant find datasheets of a single chip with any processing cores from intel
just because it says "soc" doesnt mean it can route

I feel like all the amd advantage laptops have been flops
Do you actually care to have a conversation or are you just going to keep saying random things without checking :/
Well idk the wattage or distance
only thing i can find is the ax58u which uses an atom that is quite capable at routing (well at least in openwrt, dunno about asus' implementation)
g14?
dosent asus just skin openwrt?
or is that someone else
they do now, they didnt used to
Thought the most popular version was with the nvidia gpu
There's pretty good RGB :3
the ax58u probably is asuswrt, cant find it tho
still same machine
the cores are probably capable of dpi at 100mbps, vpn at 300mbps, and a gigabit of switching in the cpu (ignoring any switch hardware)
also the amd gpus did well too

The Asus Zephyrus G14 may very well be best gaming laptop of 2022.. but is it good enough to justify the price hike?

yea but when you have the disadvantage of having radeon, who cares about the "amd advantage"

That's why I said "flop"
The main disadvantage is the worse encoders and lack of support from most ML Libraries.
For most people they're fine
🤷 maybe this time radeon will release a driver without bugs
I mean, Nvidia isn't without bugs. The Nvidia telemetry driver in windows 11 was bugged for 4 months
"decreasing performance slightly" isnt a bug
It uses a constant 10-40% of your CPU
🤷 thats not good, but thats not a bug with the gpu
i mean to some extent?
im talking specifically about an ill effect to the experience of playing the game
like the black screens
Microcenter have a 7900xt for 699, not bad
or the flickering textures
Or the Nvidia GPUs that can't run cyberpunk or dead space on release :3
heres the thing tho
you can find a complaint about a radeon gpu for every complaint about an nvidia gpu
Nothing could run cyberpunk on release
but nvidia is installed in 10x more pcs than radeon...
Worked fine on older GPUs
Yes, I had better framerates on a 1060 :3
match settings and the fps will be alot lower lmao
It wasn't, they had a bug in the 30 series drivers
it was patched a week after release
🤷 i dont remember that, then again i bought the game the saturday after release, and played it that weekend
Idk man
Euro Bethesda
Witcher 3 wasn't as bad as cp2077
witcher 3 was worse lmao
i played w3 in 2018 and i gave up after running into complete progression halting bugs 3 times in a row
Or die because you looked at a specific road sign
Or randomly have cars cause a nuclear disaster
2077 never actually made me lose multiple hours of progress because a checkpoint vanished from the middle of a mission and i had to restart the entire section 3 times
happened in witcher tho
Not denying Witcher
Just saying I relate
At least Witcher became amazing
Meanwhile they gave up and cp2077 and said fuck it, we'll just rebuild a lot of the shit for the expansion
Nvidia drivers also still does not report Vblank correctly to Ogl
It took them 3 years to add DMA Synchronization when it was a neccessary feature to run a large portion of applications.
really my 2077 experience was very fun
i only clipped through a buildings that i was skyriming up the side of lol
yes but they do in fact render the colors they are requested to present lol
And it isn't just because it was a shit show
And people call me the hater
Story was horrendous
Characters were boring ag
And they did lie a bit about what the game would be
But like, it was a decent AAA game
Better than what Ubisoft would come up with
Oh and it's first person
And they did end up fixing the game in the long term
I got a solid 30 hours of fun and an hourish of tedium out of 2077
i got a solid 15 hours of fun and 8 hours of tedium out of w3
But the story is so bad omg
77 still remains visually some of the best
🤷 i enjoyed it a ton
It's so bad and cliche
I enjoyed W3 more than 2077
and i played it before watching edgerunners
I played before edgerunners too
It's Cyberpunk, the story is taken off of the board games
Corpos warring, mercs doing shit
Like, they could have done it better
The world itself is cool
But it wasn't bad
But the main story is shit
My main disappointment with it is that the game was linear
I was hoping for choices
Yah
Ultimately no choices really matter apart from endings
Characters are beyond bland, except for Judy, she bae is
Hey you got to pick your starting "class" which mattered for like 15 minutes
Still waiting for a cool warhammer 40k story game
Class system did not need to exist
They did have a bunch of quests about it
Cyberpsycho was supposed to become a feature I remember, and they are introducing it with the new DLC
Well, kind of
I'm gonna replay it with the new expansion, maybe I'll change my opinion
They are adding a cap to the cybernetics you can add to the character and you suffer stat penalties apparently if you go overboard
Not much of a cyberpsycho but eh
That was one writer's fault, slowly fixing that
I liked it, and story telling was pretty dang good IMHO. But I waited until it was stable.. Cdpr games suck at launch
It's fine now
And people do come around on it, the reviews are improving
No shit
I hope that the DLC will make it similar to Witcher 3
Where it was shambles at start, and "best game" in the end
40k version of WoW would be amazing
@pale sigil wait till the dlc is stable etc :p
I think tbh it was just incompatible with hdds at launch and they just improved the loading
Witcher 3 suffers from the time it was released by a bit
Well ye
the entire game was render fog and LOD
Tbf Cyberpunk just needs proper mod support, people will do the bethesda thing and fix the game for them
Blood and wine was one of the best dlc of all time
Blood and wine I had one issue with
I did definetly not have that problem lol
It took hours until you could even attempt the DLC
The level requirement was so high that most people would ditch the game by then
Hell I could finish W3 before being at the level blood and wine was at
It's a preference thing. Game on max settings still did not draw shadows past like 20 meters, and there's constant render fog in every scene past around 100 meters.
After the game broke, I went to nearest mountain and started climbing and got to the top and looked around and it was it was very very beautiful there's also really really boring and I couldn't continue the quest of the game
Let me see if I can pull up a old screenshot from there but I was definitely seeing a lot more than a hundred meters away
Yeah
I forgot what they released, it was some big ass patch with new graphics and everything
Free too
I played in 2018 at the most recent so it wasn't the patch that released after cyberpunk
CP77 was probably the worst gaming blunder in history that I can remember
Such massive hype that broke in an instant
Company went from industry's best to the most shit on for years
2042 is pretty close
Yeah my problem is I'm really extremely incompatible with most reviewers I liked 2077 but I hated Skyrim
Ah yeah there was hype for that one
Idk I don't care for battlefield
Also, it's EA
I will not forget Anthem
Anthem never even lived
I was a Warframer at the time, and Anthem seemed so damn good
Titanfall 2 is one of my favorite games of all time
This was on release:
Anthem was supposed to be the TitanFall 2 destiny
Ah, the Nintendo Switch release graphics
grass and shadows stopped being rendered after a short distance, terrain was replaced with projections past around 200 meters.
Though my game looked a lot darker than that, at least darker is what I remember
I kinda like that saturation
Like it was on par for its time, but I also thought open world games generally looked terrible around that time
What was it, 2015?
Black Flag came out before that
We don't talk about the Witcher 3 switch edition
And that was fairly visually impressive for me
This was on PC on max settings
It still is!
This game needs a damn remaster
Better texture quality
And that's about it really
wow the trees don't become 2d after a few meters. Impressive :3
Cyberpunk was the first actual large open space game that I felt looked good, but you were confined to a dense city most of the time so it didn't really showcase it much
Elden ring did really good at actually showing it
Cyberpunk to me is the most open un-open game of all time
It's so vertically impressive
Yet so little happens vertically
Like, I would have liked a more big open world
build issue :3
But it's so damn vertical
The details on skyscrapers are insane and there are so many of em
It's one of those games that I do feel like there's a proper future city there
But I also feel like they spent too much on the verticality and could have improved the rest of the game
Outside of the city it was a bit empty
There is no vertical content tbf
which sucks
god the elevators sucked
because cp2020 has a ton of vertical
Not much happens outside of quests
same with cover and shit
Battlebit
But it seems a bit out of the reach for now
Cyberpunk-sized
As in, every room in a skyscraper is accessible, and there's hundreds of them
But that's just unrealistic tbf
procedurally generated murder mystery sounds interesting
AI will definitely be the big thing for the future
If you can generate new stories on the go, game devs can focus efforts elsewhere
Not to mention the opportunities to make a AAA game with simulation like Dwarf Fortress can actually be made now
Some NPC guy in the universe far away becomes stronger by defeating an unlikely opponent, and climbs the ranks until you run into him one day, or not
There are so many stories that could happen with AI's help
A proper simulation
Preston would like to have a word :3
A major issue with ML based actors in games is that AMD essentially has 0 support from any major ML libraries
since their compute sdk is complete dogshit
That, afaik, is wrong
@ashen spindle knows more about this shit
But rocm is doing fine
It's just sadly unsupported compared to CUDA
But technically it's fine
Besides having bugs that hard crash Linux lol
Yeah as if Nvidia doesn't have those
And the company that reported it said it wouldn't get fixed until the CEO personally cold emailed Lisa su
It would if when I tried to figure out how to program for it and go to the documentation if any of the links worked.
To be fair the kernel panic bug was found by running those examples lol
Not only does Nvidia not have any issues anywhere near that severity, because of now Nvidias driver isn't in the kernel, it actually cannot have a similar issue whatsoever
I'm a physics & computational data science phd, I've tried using AMD's framework since the ORNL cluster is only AMD GPUs. The documentation is substantially worse than cuda/cudnn and also lacks much community discussion.
Currently, even if it has feature parity over Nvidia's libraires, it is essentially impossible to use.
