Hey locke quick question

#

Do pumps need all wires connected to even turn on or is ground and power okay?

#

I see

#

Was hoping to see it running oh weell

#

Tried several power supplies and almost thought was broken

#

Woulda been a useful test run and could have cleaned the radiator had it turned on

#

Ew comma

Same

#

Like a comma belongs in a list

Or an explanation transition

I guess in a letter as well

Yes, yes that is what we use commas for.

Using 1,000,000.00 looks backwards to me.

Something that differs more widely is how we display currency
Dutch notation of minus 100 euro's would be either โ‚ฌ -100,00 or โ‚ฌ -100,-
Some countries do some wild stuff there

Actually Google sheets fucks it up in dutch locale, writing -โ‚ฌ 100,00 instead
Libreoffice Does it wrong in Dutch in the Netherlands but correct in belgium, in the Netherlands they use โ‚ฌ 100,00-

They don't when it comes to software development. The number formats and currency formats are a particular mess between most countries. Week numbering too. The biggest problem as I see it, is that the US are like the French. They want to be incompatible with international standards. Also in many frameworks, the methods for formatting numbers are buggy and inconsistent. But let's just stick to the standard units. A foot, there are many different versions of what a foot is. A mile, there are many different versions of what a mile is. Etc.

How even

gentle elk

?

reef patrol
#

Those fuckers pop off so easily. The plastic clips are so cheap.

#

You'll have to look real close and see if something snapped off on the keycap or in the switch.

gentle elk

its strong tho

i was cleaning

long ago

#

there is no keycap

#

but i have it

I had it happened after years on the w key on a MacBook, back on the bad butterfly kb, and just pressing it back in helped

reef patrol
gentle elk
#

i have other keyboard parts

#

my brothers laptop has even more horrible situation so he bought new keyboard and plugged it in

#

but i need this for gaming and then im gonna sell it

#

and buy desktop pc

fair gull
reef patrol
#

Caps sure. But individual switches? News to me. Always had to order the entire "keyboard" as a replacement part from various chinese suppliers with EU in-betweens.

fair gull
#

ya individual switches including rubber dome

#

thats how i replaced most of these issues

#

take of old mechanism, caps and dome. glue on new dome and then reinstall the new mechanism and cap

gentle elk
#

its scissors then rubber cup in middle and plastic above right?

reef patrol
#

The keycaps are the loose parts that fell off.

gentle elk
#

it broke legs

#

and couldnt stand on scissors

#

i think

#

yes

#

i had it broken for a long time

#

that will cost alot

#

its hp folio elitebook 1040

#

other contries cost alot to us

#

cause its dollar

#

they are weak

fair gull
gentle elk
#

i wanna buy razerblade or desktop pc

#

not another laptop like this

#

i cant even run fornite

fair gull
#

na even for hp

#

lots of sellers who (idk how) take them out way too clean

#

ya often comes with a new rubber dome as well

gentle elk
# fair gull

these are scissors and keys and they cost like 10 to me

#

i need to place rubber cup too

fair gull
#

u can find it with the cup

#

for the same

#

and i think on that HP model the keyboard is sonicly welded into the keyboard case

#

so itll be an entire cover

#

tbf laptop keys usually fall off if you look at them the wrong way

gentle elk
#

not month but im trying to save up alot

#

i wanna get phone and razerblade or good i7 pc

#

this one has integrated graphics

fair gull
#

i also use a tpfe cover on my macbook

#

the keys would just wear way too fast

gentle elk
#

its not just a dream

#

i already got 140

#

total will be like 4k if i get s23

#

no

#

its 300 if u get lucky

#

700 if u want good experience

fair gull
#

so far the cover is ok. it has slight wear but now i got all docked

#

so now its wear on my w2 caps

#

didnt even unbox my mbp charger

reef patrol
#

Do you want one with a GPU?

#

Then they're pricy and fucking hot to touch.

fair gull
#

well tbf i have to give this back in like 1.5yrs or so. its a lease mbp m1 for 600eur total

#

cant complain tbh

gentle elk
fair gull
#

wha

gentle elk
#

alienware is ugly

#

my laptop is 100$ wdym

#

they have i7

gentle elk
#

hell no

fair gull

yes

gentle elk
#

lemme show u

fair gull
#

the fact it has elite in the name makes it worth like at least 500$ more than HPs normal laptops

#

unless you got this second hand from some recycling company its not 100$

reef patrol
#

Elitebooks can be had for very cheap pre-owned and older gens.

gentle elk

gentle elk
#

im not gonna pay that much for new

fair gull
#

idk what gen they have

#

i went with sort of recent and available new

haughty trail
#

is the testing methodology of rtings reliable? First pic wooting 60he vs huntsman v2, 2nd pic wooting two he vs huntsman v2

fair gull
#

with hp you always have to check the models cause the model numbers often get reused the next gen

fair gull
gentle elk
#

so can i get used keycaps for 0.50$

fair gull
#

the 1ms and 1.3ms looks like the keypress to USB packet latency

gentle elk
#

so what

#

i have only started saving money this year

reef patrol
#

Nothing gets past you, Sherlock ๐Ÿ˜„

haughty trail
# fair gull the 1ms and 1.3ms looks like the keypress to USB packet latency

https://www.rtings.com/keyboard/tools/compare/wooting-two-he-vs-razer-huntsman-v2/27768/28388?usage=9048&threshold=0.10 seems like they use a 1000fps camera or something, if the rig and os isnt the exact same in every test then yeah its not reliable but its not very transparent

fair gull
gentle elk
#

for pc

haughty trail
#

wouldnt ldat make more sense

fair gull
#

and its more than fractions of a ms

#

usually a couple of ms

#

like 3-5ms itself with really good hardware

haughty trail
fair gull
#

E2E latency would include keyboard latency, Hardware latency and OS handling latency

haughty trail
#

is there any reliable source that shows which keyboard has the legit lowest latency

fair gull
#

what they printed looks like pure keyboard latency

#

idk how they derive that though

ashen spindle
#

yeah the original 2he test from rtings had some issues that people pointed that never got addressed sadly

fair gull
#

it works for keebs

haughty trail
fair gull
#

so its E2E

#

wha

#

how the shit did they get those numbers then

gentle elk
#

so what should i do should i waste savings for something i dont even know how to put on?

olive kernel
#

@haughty trail latency addict

fair gull
haughty trail
gentle elk
olive kernel
#

Lowest latency gear wonโ€™t help if you break it dogekek

gentle elk
#
  • it wont look good
fair gull
#

ya usually spare parts

#

and "people". usually its repair shops

gentle elk
#

parts only usually costs 40$

haughty trail
#

so the wooting is in 16th place huh

#

like wtf

gentle elk
#

its not

#

or what will putting ram gpu new screen and new battary cost

#

nvm not even worthit

#

its same as changing laptops

haughty trail
#

idk how they put out a latency chart so confidently without providing proof of a constant testing rig and methodology as well as a mean and standard deviation

gentle elk
#

thats not a big deal but i can only give about 300

#

yes but

#

300 is alot

#

its 1000 for me

#

not even close

fair gull
gentle elk
#

but yes its older than my bird

#

to sell it again and continue saving money

haughty trail
#

Sadly I cant I dont have an ldat

#

nor a plunger or a 1000fps camera

fair gull
#

i can tell you how so: we broke track mania where our keyboard is controversial, osu pros tried hiding it from everyone else cause its so good, fortnite goated this keeb over any other, rocket league has lots of users

#

apex movement is broken with a wooting

gentle elk
fair gull
#

CS pros keep using it over sponsored stuff

ashen spindle
#

time for wait for LTT labs do get their stuff rolling since they already showed to have tested a wooting just no results yet publicized and hope that one is done clean

gentle elk
#

i doont even know what it looks like

fair gull
#

and not just "we have camera and plunger"

haughty trail
#

i prefer raw data

fair gull
#

especially with osu where they have spreadsheets of what keyboards are good and which arent

#

but ya id love some accurate testing data

haughty trail
#

๐Ÿ˜ฆ

#

yeah accurate testing is a pain in the ass

fair gull
#

that would just be the switch though not when the mcu assembled the usb packet etc

#

you technically need to poll it at its specified rate with extra hardware and compare the packet time to when the key was started to push down

#

even then you have the controller add latency

haughty trail
#

if your rig and os is the same for every test, as well as the game version youre testing and your sample size is big enough and you provide a proper mean and standard deviation, the plunger 1000fps camera method isnt bad

fair gull
#

id prob not use a game on windows though

#

id prob use some minimal linux RAM os and some special tool that changes the entire screen color

#

keep it simple

haughty trail
#

or that yeah

fair gull
#

that plus the camera plunger method

gentle elk
#

i kind of could buy whole laptop for the price of keys

fair gull
#

so do it

vagrant pagoda
#

There is also a very very low chance they can measure actual keyboard latency at 0.1ms accuracy with windows shitty USB stack

gentle elk
haughty trail
vagrant pagoda
#

Did they though

haughty trail
vagrant pagoda
#

Exactly

fair gull
#

nor do they specify the raw data anyway

vagrant pagoda
#

The article says 12 times in a row

#

But not if that was the only sample

#

But I guess the point is windows is the target use case

fair gull
#

then an E2E value would be more sensible

vagrant pagoda
#

I just have an issue with getting down to ms reading when dealing with windows USB stack

fair gull
#

yay

vagrant pagoda
#

If you could count on windows to do sub ms timings over USB, you'd run CNC machines with it XD

I have the GB format on i use the most

fair gull

i mean if i need pocket sized i just take the console i wanna play with me

vagrant pagoda
#

And a gba style on that I use too

#

They do android too, so you can play android games

fair gull
#

i wonder how well that works though

#

at least gulikit doesnt deviate from being a chinese seller. always include trash tools in the replacement parts

vagrant pagoda

I mean they work once

fair gull
#

pretty sure they are anodized

vagrant pagoda
#

Android 12

#

fair gull
#

n64 emu isnt all too hard nowadays

#

the main question regarding android was 60fps in games like fortnite etc

#

aka actual games

not just candy crush

just start reverse engineering them

vagrant pagoda
#

I don't play fornite lol

#

Rtc works good though XD

Rct

fair gull

rtc?

rct?

as in roller coaster?

#

i mean

#

is that hard to run?

#

given we have openrct

vagrant pagoda
#

The open RCT android port is shit lol

fair gull

no but i mean its so simplistic i dont think much hardware has trouble running RCT/openRCT

vagrant pagoda
#

Also I think fornite only runs on certified devices

fair gull

animal crossing pocket camp?

vagrant pagoda

It also plays the android version of gtav fine

fair gull

android has gtav?

id personally find it hard to invest in such a device

purely given the fact i have most of the consoles id want to emulate on the go

vagrant pagoda
#

fair gull

i dont wanna play those on the go though

reef patrol

Especially with games ๐Ÿ˜„

fair gull

vagrant pagoda

i think the psp could run n64 emulation if push comes to shove

vagrant pagoda

Vita barely dose n64

fair gull

pretty sure i read about some much needed improvements like a year ago making almost all games run fluid on the psp

i might misremember

vagrant pagoda

The Vita barely runs n64

#

And the Vita emulates psp

fair gull

imma try it in a sec

vagrant pagoda

ok suggestions for n64 game that shouldnt run

#

I have both psp daedalus and the Vita version on my vita

#

The best you can hope is 30fps sm64 with no audio

#

Perfect Dark

#

F zero runs almost locked 60 fps on hardware

#

PD dose not lol

#

A dip in fps at 60 isn't as bad as a dip at 30

#

Yep

#

The 60 fps kb+mouse mod for PD is amazing

#

It would of been a AAA shooter on PC at the time

It would be against deus ex, ut and quake 3

And imo holds up extremely well

Omg the og thief was the first game I raged at

#

I was a youngling

That and turok 2 on n64

the only thing that doesnt seem to work is sound

vagrant pagoda

I also can't find anyone mentioning it getting much faster on PSP

fair gull

vagrant pagoda

It's all one repo

fair gull

imo this is more than playable

vagrant pagoda

#

Imo vita still best pocket handheld form factor

#

If the 505 didn't exist I'd still be using it for game streaming

#

But 505 is thick vita with Android

#

So it is worth it

#

With the 505 dpad is useable XD

fair gull

i just use these

pretty sure the mo rad was made for the YL 220s

#

they have 170mm spacing

#

yeah

#

the A20 has 154 110x180 and 170 spacing

#

factals 180 is only 165

which means there is more than enough room to drop the 154 and add 165

154 is 6 inch

so there might be some industual app for that size

pale sigil

I get it tbh

Why release a new one when the current is still selling well

cursive summit
#

Cause the current one is shit

pale sigil
#

Yes but people are still buying

cursive summit
#

Doesn't new hardware equate to easier game development?

#

More powerful = better games, less optimizations, better hardware features

pale sigil
#

But customers don't care

wheat plume
#

yes but not according to Nintendo who release lacking hardware and expect devs to deal with it

cursive summit
#

Nintendo would

wheat plume
#

less optimizations

Thats the issue

cursive summit
#

Switch is already not far from a decade old, it needs something new

wheat plume
#

even on powerful hardware, there should still be optimisations

pale sigil
#

It was already old when it came out

Tbf

cursive summit

It needs better hardware

pale sigil

But still the market is what speaks

halcyon moss

cursive summit

Where do I find 120 an hour job offerings

#

The minimal wage here in a normal job is typically like 4$/hr

halcyon moss
#

yes more income, means more taxable income and you're in the highest tax bracket

cursive summit
#

Don't withhold the important information

ashen spindle

not just tax bracket

halcyon moss
