Their most expensive motherboards had shitty overcurrent protection
But it is an issue with all boards and all AMD X3D CPUs
Says the man who wants to buy the ROG Ally š
Hello guys can someone help me?, this is my motherboard GIGABYTE B650M DS3H, how do i know if those fans are compatible with mb https://www.amazon.de/-/en/gp/aw/d/B08HLQQ6FN#Ask

Yep
ASUS is not offering help tho
Good luck with the Ally š
Well, in the case of the SD, there's lots of replacement parts and official videos on repair
Also
We are happy to announce today that our new Steam Deck repair centers are now open. If you encounter an issue and need to send your Steam Deck for repair or replacement, devices will now go to one of our repair centers. Once there, our team will diagnose the device, repair if needed, then ship the fixed unit back to you. Repairs for issues cover...
ROG Ally will be the same in the sense that if it breaks you're fucked.
I can wait two or so years for a possible SteamDeck 2 with better specs / screen
Valve still releases updates to the Steam Controller & Steam Link
Two devices literally out of production
As long as Gabens around I think they'll remain a fair enough company
They're slow, but they do the job.
I'm enjoying my Dell Alienware Ultrawide OLED, the 3 year advanced return Warranty really sold it for me
Even covering burn in
At 2 years, 11 months, my display will mysteriously acquire "burn in", and I'll get it replaced with a new one. Perhaps a newer updated model will be out by then :p
who hasn't left their pc running all night during a long night of work

Kingstonās NV2 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD is a substantial next-gen storage solution powered by a Gen 4x4 NVMe controller. No DRAM but has HMB
id prob suck up the price of an evo plus and just get that
idk i dont trust kingston ever since their a400 ssd shit
Then don't trust Samsung ever since their X Latest Contrversy
never really had any issues with my kingston drives
my current system drive is an a2000 nvme
well their a400 was broken for 3 years or so
and i emailed them more than enough times to return broken ssds
after what was quite literally 1month of use
the only other brand i trust equally as little is HP ssds
because they also refused to fixed their firmware as far as i know
actually no HP released a new firmware for their s700 pro series 512gb ssds
not the smaller or non pro though
tbh pretty much every storage manufacturer have had production runs and variants of drives that's been notoriously dogshit
samsung is trash tier on a lot of other stuff instead
Oh no I still have a A400 in the system that's been working great ever since the firmware update
did they release one finally?
It was kinda suffering for the first couple months I had it when it would every now and then stop responding for half a minute but yeah, years ago
i mean we stopped using kingston storage years ago at my old job
mainly due to well... years of ignoring us seemingly
and at least u were lucky i guess
the ssds i had soft locked windows
I mean there isn't a company today without at least some controversy
on any kind of access of data
at my old job we just went WD and samsung at the end cause everything else sort of failed us in the long run
I have yet to own a samsung product I haven't had issues with in some shape or form
for me its the opposite lol
no storage though
i got storage, a phone, a microwave and a fridge from them. all working fine
Also Import to keep in mind they are same name but Samsung memory has nothing else in common with Samsung phones for example
So any issues on one part doesnt really mean good or bad things for the other department
What is the difference between wooting two he vs the new wooting two he with the arm chip?
The Arm chip
the arm chip can do more
From the users end though really nothing. š
better brains of the operation
not yet
Like if you got the two he old one, buying a new one isn't going to be worth I'd say. š
theres some updates only arm keyboards will get related to scanning for example
cause the arm mcu can just handle it better
And what will those two?
?
Scanning, I mean we already got sub 1ms latency
I just want to know if is a good idea to buy the older one Second hand (6 month old) or buy it new (:
focus mode prioritizes a block of keys ove rthe rest
Depends on how much cheaper that second hand is
new definitely.
the avr has memory limits as well
so firmware updates cant improve it all too much
Is the second hand one 50% off? Then maybe the second hand one, if it's like new condition
id personally not consider any AVR keyboard at this point unless its the wooting one
cause theres no arm
we'll see down the line but so far the ARM doesn't really offer anything substancial over ARM for the vast majority of users imo
If it's only like 20% cheaper than a brand new one? I'd say brand new one for sure.
Ok I talk with the seller thanks for your help (:
But I have the feeling to go with the new one.
You should unless it's a like new condition for 50% off or more š
i mean i have seen the internal builds and i will replace my w2he next month with the 2he arm
I have the AVR two HE, and an ARM 60HE
They try to sell nearly new price because if you buy it new you have to wait more. haha
Better wait for the WootingThree with the x86 processor.
Oh then fuck that seller
When a wooting three is coming out? Any news jet?
the "old" avr two he is still a monster of a keyboard vs p much anything else in the gaming segment
apart from other wootings that is
I mean, realistically the Wooting is a nice piece of tech but vs any other keyboard you're not gonna see some huge increase in skill by using it. A lot of people expect that.
Like some kind of door will open and suddenly they'll become far better than before.
No I donāt think like that my old keyboard is going to death and Iām buying to anytime the best on the market and wait till the stuff die before buying new.
So I think have like 2% improvement with the new keyboard
am talking out of pure customizability alone, being able to set things up after your personal preferences to a much deeper extent than most options out there, that's something I appreciate even more than the "performance enhancing" gaming bells and whistles
The Wootility is the main strength and that's only because other keyboard manufacturers are lazy about their Software š
Tf is a Wooting Three
There's only 3 versions for 3 "main" form factors, Full = 2, 1 = TKL, and 60 (for some reason) is 60%
if you play like a pro on a wooting its probably because you already were one when you bought it
^
As much as I want Wooting to make a completely over the top keyboard with its own computer inside of it
So less of a keyboard more of a keyboard-gaming station
That will not happen
yes
f13-f24 keys
and more
all the mmo keys
I will say its a significant step up to some cheapo "gaming mech keyboard" in how responsive to any changes in input it is with the right settings, things oldschool binary switches with fixed actuation and debounce algos etc lack the capacity to do
compared to an already high end board using some kind of analog tech the difference will be less dramatic
or will it
Well, Wooting is a unique case
If it's unique, Calder wants to make it happen
If it has a market, Calder will make it happen
Basically 2 rules of Wooting, which I greatly appreciate
Das nippel maus
Well said weird or unique ideas. Could have shirts. "The Wooting Nipple Keyboard"
Sure to catch headlines
Or go even crazier
I wonder what the sales figures are for that weird keyboard that was released recently
Was it by finalmouse?
nice massage ball
Remidns me of that 2007 keyboard that had an OLED display
The price is really steep
350$ ain't nothing on that old like 3500$ OLED keyboard
I think there's a bit of a lack on market research on expensive peripherals
Most peripherals for "top end" target 200$ max
Anything above is a bit rare
I mean because it's silly
How much are people going to spend if something truly unique comes out
is the centerpiece even out yet
99.9% of people will be as happy on a 50-60$ MK as a 350$ one
fe was supposed to be q1 23
So products in that price range are often silly
Gotta be honest even the wooting two HE at basically 200$ was a hard sell for me
Luckily I work a lot of overtime so I can be a little irresponsible š
its the only keyboard I've spent more than like ā¬60 on
imo was worth it for a board that brought some genuinely new features and possibilities to the table
PHX Embargo should lift today btw so reviews for the ally could be out today
I liked my gmmk1 well enough for the last 5 years
Build quality is better than the Wooting honestly, but latency wasn't great and I wanted something different
out of all the boards I've squeezed on first hand in stores the glorious ones felt the most solid by far
but under the hood its a souped up binary switch board like most, wasn't too keen on paying hundreds for such boards regardless of whatever fancy rgb, macros or heavy duty assembly methods manufacturers have been tacking on for decades now
so I just got a chinese mech board until I could put an order in on a woot HE
I mean it wasn't a fancy keeb
I paid 78$ for it 5 years ago
No switches
Bought Cherry MX Stabs, clipped em, lubed em.
Kalih Box Blacks and some Aliexpress PBT keycaps
Served me well
I don't have a problem! I can stop any time I want!
Accurate
I've only seen those posh glorious boards with weighty dampened cases and their panda variants
That GMMK Pro thing? Yeah
Never went after that myself
Pricey for what yo uget
And I need a numpad
I would've probably gotten a GMMk2, if it wasn't a 96% board and also not so great in latency like the first iteration
I mean it never seemed to bother me any
But still
That's a lot
not sure what my old board had but am sure it wasn't much better
Was surprising when I read it is all, cause I certainly didn't expect it to be that high

They prolly need to fix their motherboard issues first
As GN said, a new BIOS does not fix the issue
the bios updated clamps soc and that targets most issues, asus ocp is a different thing but if you do direct die and dont even check your own temps and voltages, sorry then you shouldnt direct die cool it lol
but still, roman working for months on a direct die cooler vs board vendors fucking up isn't really related
and quest 3 being cheaper than quest pro is over a year old news as well xD
You're a druggy
That's alot of needles

Why has my iPad battery suddenly got better
Is this one or those moments? Where you suddenly feel amazing and healthy before you kick the bucket the next day lol
did you reboot it?
WIll they ever release a 75% keyboard?
Soon

soon *maybe
they showed something that is likely that size but nothing specific yet

I have seen enough peeps impressions to kinda form an opinion
It's really really good
But if you have a blessing2, it's not really a good enough upgrade
(Which I don't)
Kek
He concludes that it has a leaner presentation
So it's up your alley
Also, looks like I'm sticking with Asrock mobo for the foreseeable future
Maybe msi
Indeed
Idk what "warm leaning" or "bright" and similar sentiments mean
But whatever is dead neutral, is up my valley cause I hate Sundaras, and I love my K702s
I'll see if I can cop a set of HE6V2's at some point
Anyone know a good online store to buy a full set of individually sleeved PSU cables?
Cablemod would be my obvious recommendation if you're not looking for small DIY makers.
Well yeah, asrock is currently the scrappy underdog out of the 4 big brands. They gotta go the extra mile to get the sale.
I'll stick with them until they become the brand giant
ordered gulikit sticks for my joycons
you totally missed the point of the video lol
Guys which mouse are you using
The Z
Fuck off ruzzian
Viper Ultimate here, good mouse, shite software
Vaxee XE wireless if you don't want the software
They also use the same stuff to achieve a constant polling rate, right?
but it's often out of stock
Motion sync I think
Yea, the good stuff
https://twitter.com/gloriouseggroll/status/1652536003553529856 now this is reasons why linux sucks for gaming
Freesync came out in 2015. It's been 8 years and @gnome still doesn't have it.
The MR was opened 3 years ago https://t.co/oRYq6aUoNF
Every time a new version of gnome comes out people have to wait for a rebase.
Seriously considering going back to KDE again...

Yeah that is a good reason
Oldie white superlight, corepads reg mod. Still works well after being kicked in
G303, Orochi v2, MX Master 3 (plan on getting an M3K)
depends on what I'm on and what I'm doing
MX Master 2s, G703
Plan to eventually get the g502 X
Nice, I've encrypted my Nas and my offline sync files on windows
So now I just need to transfer 1.2tb
Also it's nice using usb to charge a laptop
I know it's not new but it is for me
Yea pd is a nice feature to have
No need for 2 cables to charge and display out anymore
lighter Superlight
Fucking hell I hate this and didn't think of it
But since I'm uploading to my Nas via WiFi it's going through my powerline Vs directly to the Nas meaning I'm capped at 5mbs -_-
i have a question about how to do some mapping for my wooting keyboard
And my laptop doesn't have ethernet to plug into my switch so time to buy an adapter
Rip i5/i7 branding? Extremely stupid move if itās for more than just mobile low power
that was a spicy launch
Has this space become your personal journal?

You must be new here
Or a framework laptop
My 300k+ messages exist for a reason
Itās been a pleasant journey :))

True
Depends on the farm
Whatās pleasant doing?
Great timing g
the laptop that only has adapters?
Technically yes
looks pretty decent
I hope it costs half of other mice, since they're removed it.

Where is my material!?
I mean fair you want it as light as possible. But at least include a shell cover for those who aren't THAT insane š
plastic is not the expensive part
both of you should know better than that lol, is the plastic case of the wooting a big cost factor?
vs making it in a form that works, is structurally solid and all
I don't believe I ever made that claim š
I just want a mouse that isn't a skeleton without the "skin"
I understand it's not as simple as that right
I truly do
But the prices are just baffling
"oops I spilled soda onto the PCB of my mouse... cause it isn't fucking covered š "
Even with manufacturing and PCB design etc
It's probably the sensors that cost the most, switches don't cost that much.
Even with small amounts behind made
Seeing people post CCTV images in a local group and it drives me through the roof when they say does anyone recognise this person?
WHILE TAKING A FUCKING PICTURE OF THE SCREEN
WITH THEIR PHONE

uhhh what sort of cctv images, on their own property or random street cams?
Jesus fucking Christ
Their own property, you can't see shit because the phone camera hasn't focussed.
It's always fucking stupid I swear.
The only problem with ARYE is the clicks, otherwise looking sweet
they really removed the control panel language selector in win11
now you have to edit it in the registry
atleast for keyboard layout
I did. This was Danish originally.
Selector?
just a button showing the current layout and the ones you can switch to
And you need this on the LOGIN screen why exactly?
no i didnt want it there
so i had to delete in the registry
bc deleting the language isnt enough i guess
ye idk why it was shown on mine
according to the microsoft forum i wasnt the only one with that problem tho
Yes, we are making brand changes as weāre at an inflection point in our client roadmap in preparation for the upcoming launch of our #MeteorLake processors. We will provide more details regarding these exciting changes in the coming weeks! #Intel
Core Ultra 5 1003H coming to you soon
Really dont get why they would remove the Core-ix branding
does anybody known when wooting 75% come out agian?
no because we dont even know if it is a 75%
It's a 69%
do we know when the new keyboard will come out then
no
ok
Ugh... I still need to finish mine. Scrape out the last plastic from the old drive bay and get the battery in there.
love the translucent case. really cool to see the internals
Yeah definitely. Only thing I miss with my 60HE case. It's either going to sound hollow but visible PCB. Or be clouded and more muted.
also nice that it came with all original prints and reprinted serial no sticker for the inside
and a barcode for the bottom edge
and awarranty void sticker... which idk why anyone would put that on
Oo I love the purple one!!
I guess he decided to keep reviewing Xiaomi xd
the bottom one is newer
@wheat plume it's out?
The screen is a bit shit
Fucking hell
I never thought I'd see the day
It has usb c 3
@wheat plume
but can it do video out?
@ashen spindle The Asus oled seems pretty good
No difference in input lag between SDR and HDR
sure, but like, not ultrawide and regular oled so I dont really care lol
Also on par with QD-OLED in brightness. Idk what the LG guys did one theirs
I'll get quest 3
not oled = no depth perception
ok but how much red brightness
rgbw is screwey
truly a late april fool's joke
doesnt answer my question
thats on you but we are gonna be waiting alot longer for the deck ARD
any vr headset without alyx support is doa imo
𤷠making the psvr2 not openxr compatible was a choice they made
wait what does it have oled
the psvr2 headset is supposed to be really good
but yes no alyx on it sucks for sure
Na no Oled, ffs
oled would actually make more sense on vr than a computer monitor imo
the problem is actually response times
vr pretty much never displays still images
excuse me what
But same goes for monitors too so shrug
um no
in fact in theory oled could make your depth perception worse thanks to the blur or low brightness
Brightness always helps but infinite contrast ratio, colour accuracy and better motion perception helps even more
except the contrast ratio isnt infinite
near enough
its actually pretty awful
and the motion clarity is quite substantially worse
you would be lucky to hit 1000:1 on oled in vr
Yeah disagree strongly
now lcd also takes a contrast hit maxing in the 700s for the consumer stuff
𤷠disagreeing with facts is pretty foolish
the problem is lenses
and brightness
you're disagreeing with my facts
like dawd
yea persistence is actually a gigantic problem for oleds
yep
nits are the same no matter how close the monitor is
It's pretty much solved and agreed that OLED's increase depth perception

yes you do need a lot of nits for vr still and I have no clue what you are on about with oled having better motion perception, only things the oled in the quest 2 does better than the index lcd displays are godrays form text or so
quest 2 is lcd btw
:E
q1 was oled
better lenses
PSVR 2 even at 0% brightness seems to be the highest persistence display in any mass-consumer VR HMD
The second highest in this list would be Quest Pro due to having to sequence the individual MiniLED chips. This is probably why Meta is afraid to test out 120hz š„“
202
does this work ye nice
wtf is that link
dont worry about it shh
PSVR 2 even at 0% brightness seems to be the highest persistence display in any mass-consumer VR HMD

oops
yea i refuse to actually go to twitter so this is pulled from an embedded tweet
ok wow that was very useless, i was hoping to link directly to the vid
not possible afaik
but also people say sony has improved firmware since then but I couldnt find any updated good tests
regardless of firmware, theres physics involved
index is .02ms of blur at 100ish nits
quest 2 is .03ms of blur also 100ish nits
psvr2 and bigscreen are both ~1ms of blur at 60 nits
i heard someone making excuses about people being able to move their heads down faster but im not sure thats not cope
oh yeah firmware wont change physics bujt the high persistence seemed to have caused some reproduction issue in form of ghosting, that now seems to be gone for the most part
ah ok
i suppose thats good
come on give some sauce for this, ive provided plenty of proof its significantly less clear motion wise...
it depends on the games you play tbh
for seated racing youll probably be fine
i dont know what that is but i assume its some driving or flying simulator
ur regarded beyond belief and misunderstood my point in any case
oh
the mentioned ghosting was mostly during headmovement but more stationary gameplay should be much better
well i dont know the acronym
and persistence is still only 1ms, which is good enough for when your head is stationary too
i understand you think you have a point, i just know there are extremely significant problems that actually have proof and as such i provided it
if the benefits have no proof themselves, well...
oled seem more realistic ye
until you move your head
why are you moving your head
its vr?
nope
the screens move with your head but the object has to appear to stay stationary
because of that, the object has to move on the screen and thus the mprt matters
what kinda displays are we talking about
vr headsets
for monitors?
heck ye oled all the way (tho not rgbw, gib true rgb)
for vr headsets, oled doesnt cut it
can no one make bfi 120hz oled yet
meh basically same story
they can but you cant bfi oled anywhere near as much as you can with lcd
meh just have to make it think its bgr and its solved
I wasn't arguing current Oled in Vr has equal persistence or that the better motion perception is due to higher frames/longer black frame shown. Just that Oled in general has better colour accuracy, contrast and pixel response times, makes for easier motion perception since each frame is much more clearer and pops out. Think e.g Tribes.
why
persistence is another matter
because its dim
persistence is motion clarity
inside a headset tho
you're conflating motion clarity with persistence
there is more into it
its still extremely dim
100 nits
almost on the dot tho 80 is relatively common
an lcd can do that in .02ms
instant 1000nits is no problem (peak)
actually it is a problem
nits is averaged over the course of 1 second
so if your panel can do 2000 nits but it is only on for 9/100ths of a second, you get 9% the brightness which is 180 nits for example
not precisely
in the end its a heat problem or
its just an ability to emit light problem š¤·
more electrons through an oled the faster it degrades, so its not just a heat problem
ye who came up with this trash technology
im not just gonna take your word for it
back it up fam, i showed my sources, cough up
you can blame a member of my family i wont disclose for privacy reasons
rwbg? u mean rgbw
but the tech is fantastic, just not for this specific application
look at the subpixels from left to right
yeah im good t y š
i will
claims without evidence can be dismissed without evidence
feel free to
consider it done
just personally waiting for an oled vr device and sad that meta quest 3 isnt
it was supposed to be wtf
why on earth would they?
they ran that experiment and figured out oled needs to get 5x brighter to be competitive clarity wise
Then they ran an experiment with 1000 nits to the eyes and found out it was actually fantastic and beautiful and decided they would work towards that
god doesnt exist
and since the cv1/quest 1, oleds have gotten 2x brighter, not 5x
just increase panel hz by 5x duh
that also requires that you increase processing power by 5x which also isnt an option
yeah cuz ppl care about their ultra settings
processing power of the display controller asics too
im hype for (theoretical) reprojection asics that take say a 60hz signal and output a 1000hz signal for example
but those chips would have to be pretty crazy and atm would be huge
Found an app that lets you add custom quick tiles
So I added one to lock the screen!
y tho?
btw since we talked about bfi, for regular panels, is that something the panel maker needs to add? just the monitor maker adding it via firmware would work in theory right?
Cause sometimes I hate trying to reach the power button
depends on the panel and how much bfi you want to do
Back in the golden era of custom operating systems I just used double tap on status bar to instant lockscreenoff
for oleds
if you want to run 50% duty cycle and half the refresh rate thats ez pz
but if you want to do 10% duty cycle then the monitor needs to support it by either having a separate backlight disable pin or an entirely separate psu for the backlight
I mean even Nvda had it on driver level ages ago
for oleds its a huge pain since the tft layer needs to be wired for it unless you want to refresh the entire panel
if you want a 1ms frame on an oled panel that doesnt support blanking, you would have to scan out your entire frame in 1ms
but is that something the panel maker already needs to add or can any oled panel of good quality be made to have 50% duty cycle?
50% sure no problem as long as you are ok with half refresh
but you are using up your refresh rate...
now to be fair most panels do support blanking
yeah wouldn't want to do it on my 175hz screen but was thinking about upcoming 480hz oleds if they can do it if nothing was added for it
since 240hz+bfi would be neat
yuppo
Sure they can and AMD/NVDA will sure add it on driver level at some point
the problem tho is its just better to actually throw a frame in there
even if that frame is a halucination
if you can reach those framerates sure
even with hallucination I dont think in 2 years the 5090 will get 480hz in high end games at above 1080
I'd imagine especially with AI, rendering extra frames with only animation and positional changes is quite cheap, and not needing to redraw everything
idk dont think we are quite there yet
just halucinate more frames š¤·
ai still needs time and hallucinations still have artifacts for now
Depends on the game though
and hallucinations add latency
the artefacts are hard to see the faster it is
that one makes me angry, that doesnt need to be the case š¦
but the more frames you fake the more artifacts are easier to see
not at those framerates
ur 99% looking at char models for fps games anyway
add some TAA into the mix since thats forced for dlss and you will have more ghosting issues even at higher fps with hallucinations
𤷠thats a solvable problem
everything is solvable, just need to find the right acids
𤷠thats already a thing
did meta release a native app for it or is it just virtualdesktop for now
because thats the refresh rate of the headsets?
you can do it at 180 or whatever on that one pimax thingey
Yeah but you said this, which is of no concern if it's just processing on normal PC?
and i responded with this
I guess it all can't be offloaded to PC, bc of the roundtrip delay
think about the bandwidth required for the video signals alone
Hehe
silicon photonics with fiber to the pc and direct into the display controller chip only solves half of the issue you still need an asic that can drive the display at that speed
and silicon photonics is nooot cheap
id be pretty hype for a pure ethernet vr headset tho lmao
poe input, everything else communicates via rdma or similar protocol
i disagree tbh
unless you can make your space so that you have it hand down from the ceiling and not be in the way btu even then you can easily notice it
notice sure
but lets get it to a level of actually being good before worrying about removing the wire
I was looking for a PC upgrade for better editing performance, but ended up getting a MacBook Pro M1 Max instead, it ended up being a rollercoaster.

but it has memory limitations unless you spend for the gigantic versions of the m1
The next generation of Ryzen handhelds is here with the new Ryzen 7 7840U processor. In this video, we take a look at benchmarks, PC gaming performance, and emulation capabilities of the 7840U.

Price?
will be interresting to see the difference between the Z1E and the regular 7840 chips
yea there are several different versions of the m1 lmao
m1 ultra is entirely different from m1
theres also a 7 core version of the m1 for ipads and the macbook air
that is ofc named identically
imagine paying to use a google product
can you not tap to click on mac touchpads to left click? or use two fingers to right click?
bruh
you could on mine
hhm
and ye gamin on mac hurts
they've probably released a dozen new versions since then
laptop or desktop 3070 in those comparisons?
desktop ofc
dont say ofc with nvidias bad naming so you can never be sure lol
as if radeons naming convention is any better
yes it is?
not imo
they dont use the exact same name last I checked for laptop and desktop when the dies are different
they dont have weird max-q variants with different power target
they do they just arent publicized because noone uses them
but they also dont have a different name to be identified by
what is nice tho is they affix an m to everything
nvidia affixes laptop gpu to everything tho
even if thats true which I doubt, if you look at laptops you only see
for amd it would include the m so you can know
and you can call it a 6800m laptop, nobody calls it a 3070 laptop laptop
ah but for the desktop variants, people do say laptop with 1080 desktop
which sounds equally dumb but has to be the case lmao
and for cases like this comparison its just not really something you can see
yea the difference is that as far as i know, amd has yet to actually have a mobile variant that actually is the same core as the desktop version
6800 is n21
6800m is n22
6800s is n23
3070 is ga104
3070 mobile is ga104
3070 max-q is ga104
and sure nvidia cuts off alot of cores
but bottom to top of the stack is within 25% including tis
oops
even throwing out the xt you still get nearly half the core count...
and the 4090 in laptops is ad103 not 102,
I dont care about that as muhc as long as the naming is clear
𤷠amd doesnt have high end gpus in laptops
doesnt change that if I look at the name I can see its a mobile gpu
thats all I want to see
https://www.storagereview.com/review/apex-storage-x21-review-the-roaring-twenty-ones Review of the storage card from that Sabrent article a while back
yea and its a fair criticism
but the ad102 did absolutely not fit in a laptop and you did get solidly better performance at the same power limit out of ad103
oh I agree
so call it a 4080m
hell even a 4090m I would prefer over straight up calling it 4090
I dislike similar names when the product is not similar, I hate same names for different products
𤷠yea its a shame but it is a fact that you have to trade perf for perf/watt
amd just doesnt have anything anywhere near as performant in laptops
I dont really care about performance comparisons to amd at all, just the naming makes it impossible to know what is talked about
idk what site the numbers were from so I had to ask because there was no way for me to know if its desktop or laptop 3070
never seen a site omit the M on a 6800m or similar
𤷠any site that does things automated will include the mobile or max-q
and again see the results
the difference between the two is quite minimal
it works via bluetooth...
wifi can but requires support of both devices
bt doesnt know distance, windows just relies on the connection dropping over long distances
thats a pretty crazy delay?
2 years is a long time
Wouldn't 3nm be.. quite literally the next generation?
So.. no new cards from NV for 2 years?
yea thats probably wrong
Then again wouldn't Radeon 8000 also be like 2024/2025 anyways
id be shocked if nvidia hit the 2 year mark without a new gen
and 4090 was 2022
i highly suspect they just are gonna keep using 4n due to the insane 3nm prices
N3 is shit N3E likely not out in time so N3 node just not the one that blackwell will use
What are the chances for mid-gen refresh?
probably gonna be a pretty sleeper gen in terms of being an insano uplift
but probably gonna be alot more afforable
Bring back the SUPERs again
should be quite the opposite
100%
but we may not get that many skus
because first time since ages we should get a new uArch that isnt just tweaked volta
wut
SM structure is all the same for the most part since volta
um no?
like its different on a fundamental level lol
volta was quite designed around scalability and didnt have any special fp32 considerations
https://tpucdn.com/review/nvidia-geforce-ampere-architecture-board-design-gaming-tech-software/images/ampere-sm.jpg
even ignoring the rt core the difference is obvious
adding fp32 to their int32 unit is a pretty major design change
Speaking of Material You being awful for accessibility
They are trying to make it use less pale colors now using a new thing called Fidelity
https://www.gizchina.com/2023/04/28/android-14-will-take-material-you-to-whole-new-level/
and then lovelace added (extremely limited) OOE
Yes
With less pale accent colors
And.. what's here to be excited for?
Accessibility is cool, I guess
But man are Android updates ever so unexcitable
ĀÆ_(ć)_/ĀÆ all I can tell you is that new sm uarch is what people in the cnc discord talked about and they know lot more than me about hardware stuff
𤷠alright im not that hype tho for big uplift this gen
new core designs often arent perfectly optimized the first go around esp if its a more major overhaul
thats reasonable
get a samsung lmao, 10 bajillion updates every update

Although this was a special case
was it?
No thanks at all honestly
5000 was, and in some cases remains absolutely dreadful
I mean, I had mine since launch and still rocking it
how is that an exception?
it also wasnt even a fully new core lol
5000 was quite unusable at launch
And even now it still crashes from time to time
rdna1 issues are not mainly from the core
I guess the main issues were from the underbaked and thoroughly inadequate drivers
And I guess that the arch was a weird RDNA/GCN amalgamation hybrid didn't help
yup
it also showed them that rdna needed serious cache
and the second and 3rd goarounds they added more
I do wonder if RX 5000 series would have been incredible if they didn't half-ass it
And just delivered a pure new arch, not a half-revised GCN
𤷠6000 approximately proves that
some weeks/months later and better drivers because it was rushed and then the yearly adrenalin update was pushed before it was done well
yes but cdna is not useable for gaming and its also pretty changed
but yeah basically turing ampere and ada are volta derivatives in some form and blackwells sm structure is going to be a bigger break from that
𤷠fair enough
better to do it now than while also transitioning to chiplet
yea
could be a zen3 moment on same node, could be a rdoa3 moment, we cant know this early
could also be a thermi moment lol
gib 900w gpu that actually uses that much but also actually performs like it
heh, 3nm samsung and we do get true lavalace, would be funny
TIL The creator of OSU uses a tiling window manager and rarely uses a mouse :P
Yes
in MacOS...
LOL
I wish I was able to properly setup a TWM
and use it only with shortcuts, my time in i3-gaps was nice
first time seeing a 120Hz phone screen today
and holy shit... SO FREAKING SMOOTH GOSH DAMN
dont do it, its so much more painful to use 60hz after you swap to 120
yeah...
I was trying out the phone for like 4 minutes and going back to my phone feels so much worse...
FOUR MINUTES
yeh, probably
120hz with adaptive refresh > 90hz flat
shame really only the flagships have LTPO
eh ltpo only really helps with always on display
AOD runs at 60Hz??
depends on the phone but yours probably does
hmm, doesnt explain why it doesnt impact battery life then... xd
especially using one of the colorful themes
if it does on my phone, its not noticable to me
Mi Note 10 Lite
yea it doesnt say its ltpo
ltpo is common and cheap to add on oled
š¤ I see
my laptop has ltpo despite being completely unable to use it for example
Just because we're on Linux doesn't mean we're completely safe from malware, while it's unlikely to happen from our software installs when it comes to email attachments you should still be careful.

Bit Sus, this usb c to ethernet adapter I got is calling at at 10mb/s
Literally two days after I upgraded my old phone
There is a new build of the ROM
It dies it via OTA
Which is neat
Guess that's why there is a custom recovery specifically made for this ROM
im trying to give internet to my NAS but i cant figure out a way to do so.
From the top of my head.
Atm i can usb tether or wifi tether from my phone.... i tried bridging networks but no luck.
Anyone got an idea?
Ok lesson learned
Don't transfer to an encrypted drive if you're trying to transfer large qualities, transfer to unencrypted first then locally move them files.
Encryption was dragging my network speed to 10-15mb/s because well encryption, since the files don't need said encryption I shall just do as I said above.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
I knew this would be the case but never got a chance to test it.
Whatās tethering
Linus getting hacked makes me think of email file restrictions
700MB PDFā¦. How?
Itās empty space but- can clients receive large file sizes than send or what
Something tells me most ppl here work in high level IT
Depends on the server and restrictions in place. With files thay big people usually send a link to a dropbox or google drive
Elaborate
Well basically he was shilling hard for Finalmouse, he was putting down competitor products for reasons that didn't make sense; as Finalmouse themselves had those issues / features.
It was then found out Final Mouse offers 25% to their partners for each sale
Instead of the industry standard of 3-5% per sale
So instead of you say, linking a mouse on your website and getting 4$ from that, a final mouse selling for 200$+, you'd be getting 50$+. It became very suspicious
When he was called out on it, he kinda went on a public freakout and stopped posting for awhile
Sharing my phone's data
This happen for long? The partnership
Yeah
Mmmmmmmm
Nah it's a touch screen with a hinge in the middle of the display
You can kick out the bottom of the screen to the top of the keyboard
Unboxing the OnePlus Pad with an early review of the performance, battery life and features of this first-gen tablet. The OnePlus Pad is a premium device like the iPad Pro and Samsung's Galaxy Tab, with an 11.6-inch Dolby Vision display, quad speaker setup and Dimensity 9000 power. @pale sigil
this lovely rectangular bastard
3 apps at once
The only interesting thing about this tablet is the aspect ratio
Everything else is trying to be apple
that GUI is really tryhard ios yeah
Also light theme š¤®
light theme is on just cause its easier to record on video
it has dark theme, cause yanno, Android has dark theme
like everything else these days
Except Snapchat, Paypal, some Google apps, official Reddit client, most bank apps
most websites
well, Snapchat has dark theme on the web and iOS versions for 3 years already
Android is possibly getting dark theme this year some time
android skill issue
nah
Snapchat devs dont give a fuck about Android
so they didnt bother spending the time to add dark theme
This is great
But once again
The price is shit
Better off with an iPad air M1
the air has risen?
Anyway £550-580
The tab S8 ultra was only 500 the other day
Back to 1000 now
If I was in the market for a tablet that was an insta-buy
PleaseBeOpaqueDaddy
Lol what
I paid a fuck ton more than that
S8U is a must-buy for 500 if you are in need of a tablet or hell, even a PC/work device
Very very powerful device
indeed
shame its assmung
Eh I don't mind it
š¦
been burned enough times by their god awful build quality
Yeah I've grown to like samsung software, at least with my S20 FE
Not with S8
S22/S23, I don't know how they are
But I am overwhelmingly happy with my S8U
its not just phones
Since the s10, samsung build have been top notch
literally anything samsung I've owned have had issues
Different departments
Can't just swear off a company as big as samsung on all their products
you could if you've had the amount of products from theirs I have
Like sony, that have good and shit products
and its not just me, I've seen it with friends and relatives who has samsung too
phones, fridges, soundbars, monitors
you name it
it all fails in a few years
shit company
shit company
one of the biggest in the world
Ok computer
Samsung displays are pretty damn good, their panels too
Idk about their TVs, I heard some negative about the OS and such
I steer clear from Samsung phones, but tablets were an exception cause the only good tablet that really exists is fuckin Tab series
If someone else made a proper good android tablet with top end features, I would have bought that
But Samsung was the only option, and I don't regret my purchase
something that will forever remain a mystery to me
Eh, same with Apple
apple at least has an ecosystem that appeals to people
anecdotal evidence (works/doesnt work for me) just isn't the same experience for most people
and has had for decades
I don't like it personally, but its a lot easier to understand their success than assmungs

Those fake kvm inside gigabytes monitor won't suffice?
Oh wait
It's kvm though usbc only
But it does 2 usb ports
i dont have a gigabyte monitor
i asked for a kvm because i have no hardware that can act as one
my main concern with cheap options is usb power
thanks to woot
Wouldn't a powered hub suffice?
Personally use one of the $20 USB 3 switches, as well as the multiple inputs on my monitor
A KVM is alot more expensive
how does that switch between a macbook and pc
also a 1 button switch or key combination
can someone recomende me where a can buy the g wolves htx?
The what now
at your most local online stores probably

well monitor arms and kvm ordered... just gotta hope the 5v supply does more than 5watts
sounds like the lana method
im from brazil man. we dont have this here. im asking if thereās a site from other country where i can find it
I mean, i dont know which online stores ship to brazil so I would suggest to google where it can be bought online, see if they ship to brazil then check if the site is trustworthy
My Brazilian family members have a hard time finding normal electronics for even remotely reasonable prices
Something exotic isn't gonna be easy...
oh hey amd earnings in a few hours
First quarter felt slow at least on the personal computing side
And I dunno if the recent 7800x3d sales are going to be in this quarter or the next
dont think it matters either way
Prob
diy market isnt the seller for their spreadsheets
Yeah
more worried about laptops still not being pushed out
at least phx seems fine so my guess its oem fuckery or volume that delays it?
the handhelds that have it in pre production samples seem to work quite fine
And apparently amd switching to samsung 4nm for some of Phoenix
Cuz tsmc in high demand as always
ehhhh
dont think so
its probably just for volume on less good parts so mendocino shrink or whatever the follow up is there
like they just signed wafer agreements, that means its likely not for products that are in current high demand
takes time to port and fully validate etc.
inb4 gap up over 92.5
6800xt and 6900xt percentage went up. Guess those discount are really working
Still no 7900xt/xtx in sight
@gusty kiln AMD has their head up their asses with 6xxx pricing and so do the people buying them. A couple black swan events and see whats happening in EU with energy prices and it's not worth owning those cards at all.
I like your funny numbers, magic man
I just look at products and how well they do, I dont use brain to try and follow the actual market
do u think i should buy in the g wolves site. cus they ship to brazil
I would check reddit or other discords where you can ask for brazilian people to let you know if the shipping went fine or not, I have no clue which sites do that well and which dont
6xxx undervolt decent enough unlike 7xxx
hey can someohn help , my wooting cant connect with my pc after update
diy gpu sales are not relevant enough for amd still to matter lol
honestly I'm mostly just curious to see their data center numbers to see how much intel is really losing to them vs losing out due to slowing markets
People on the amd stock reddit hoping Lisa Su to go full hard on for AI

Very simple math (in terms of the code length, not complexity and creativity)
There's a reason why they can fit entire musical tracks and 3D animation into 64k.
(That's kilobytes, a fraction of a megabyte for you kids)
@ashen spindle gunna buy the dip?
unless major dip happens or I get wind of something big I dont think I'll jump in again
bc now its at a point where they are predictable and stock price is too much numbers crunching for the most part
which I have not interest in lol
Booo
Got some more expensive powerline adapters
