they probably use thicker glass for the pad than the phone stuffs
yeh
Indeed, they also make most lab glassware
Pulsar markets their superglide products very well. Lol
The branding is very similar to that of Supreme.
Hence the similar design too...
Superglide branding just hits different
the fact Tiny11 doesnt have its own website is a bit strange
got to get it from archive.org...
Phone just automatically correctly identified the exact plant and that it’s there, not bad considering it’s smol
Welcome to Google Lens
A feature nobody remembers exist
Yet is incredibly capable
This is from apple in built. But yeah both are cool, in general impressive
For the shits and giggles a few days back I pointed the camera at a japanese text
I had no idea what it meant
Lens instantly translated it into english
A plant you don't know the name of? Lens it
But google lense is great for also translations and document scanning
Let me try if google lense can recognize this one
Windows, plz make everything dark theme ;-;
No
Transfer popup, properties dialog, control panel
Google sucks so much at some things chatgpt is easier to get an answer from too. Because google just won’t show me what I want
Yeah why they made Bard. Too bad I can only use it if I turn on the VPN
Cause it's only available in like UK and US for some reason
oohh
Ah I love that response.. bruh you're AI just hallucinate something and entertain us
damn it, I think looking at other mice made my mouse jealous, it started to double click
dont do it...
do not impulse buy a mouse
im not...its 100 euro ;-;
Do impulse buy a mouse
not until this one breaks
I need a mouse that can store settings onboard
so that I dont need to reinstall and re-setup the buttons and speed everytime I plug it into something new or reinstall the OS
isnt that the mouse thats just left and right click and legit nothing else?
its got a scroll wheel too lel
but you literally cant buy it any more its oos permanently until they release a new model
thats the oldest model
I know eSports players are younger and younger. But who let 6yr olds design a mice for their hands?
🤢
hey some of us have small hands
lower case S reeeee
e-Sports
fight the opression
if you can properly write osu you can do the same with esports reeee
os!U
just get cx31993
Before I search it up, lemme guess the price is like 200?
remove a zero
I didn't know sportbikes came with surround sound and costed $150-200
bike with the same name? XD
theres also the cs43131 for a few bucks more
may I introduce the savior that is RF sennheiser headsets that just make it so you dont need to dongle up
its also given to the non cheap stuff lmao
no matter what you do, a full solid state unit will be more reliable than one with pots...
but if you do insist on non chinese, the creative sxfi amp is probably the best bet
The Schiit Fulla 3 seems decent and its plug and play
Fulla Schiit :') I cant with the name
pls dont
do you need the mic input?
my mic is part of my headset
even if you do, get the cs cx or sxfi, they support mics
currently using USB connection
well the cx and sxfi do
then are you getting new headphones?
I can also use the headphones over 3.5mm jack if I want to
well just asking, seem nothing wrong with your current set up
the volume is not very , strong, idk the right word
what headset?
the volume seems very dull and like its not able to be as loud as it should
HyperX Clouds 2
wireless?
have you tried the rear I/O on your mobo?
using what adapter?
Yeah, Windows didnt like that very much
wat
dont manually install drivers, it should work fine from windows update, mobo manufacturers often mess them up
and its not a combo jack, the front IO jack is combo though
the fulla 3 isnt a combo either lel
hhm
wrong
sxfi is combo
desktop ones?
yep
only the "audiophile" brands dont
well do you have a more powerful source to compare?
the power output from the headphone jack on my laptop makes the sound feel more "powerful" or fuller
idk the word
like its not struggling to reach the volume I set
X4 if you want dat knob
i do like knobs
one of the few top facing knob, like the fulla
usb or optical
usb or optical
ah, ook
I sometime get that feeling listening to my 6XX on my phone with a dongle vs my K7, but I can't A/B fast enough to tell if it is placebo
I get that feeling using wireless earbuds on any device
got to have the volume slider much higher on my phone for wireless earbuds VS wired earphones
volume slider is definetly placebo tho
nanni?
volume slider with wireless control the amp on the wireless buds, not from the phone
hhhmm
or just drop a grand on a new headphone and source for that true audiophile experience

Yeah, got to buy 3 grand headphones, 2 grand DAC/AMP
exactly
and even then, im not a true audiophile cause its not expensive enough shit
I have a fiio e10k laying around, only worth about 20-30 nowadays
the Arc Mini looked cool
shame barely anyone reviewed it
it also has a top knob
lol which?
ooo nice
you got the element?
damnn
500 dac amp
I'm using a Fiio K7 at my desk
the issue I had yesterday is showing up in Windows Defender LOL
which schiit? Hel 2?
ah
yeah it's really nice looking
which version 2 or 3?
think the 3 has an oled screen
ah nice, userbenchmark has the review text for the x3d out finally
was waiting for some reputable summary if its good
🧌
also never knew they directly link to hardwareunboxed in their about page and call them incompetent
Wonder if userbench is meant to be satire rather than delusional hate
almost think so but doesnt seem like it
At least the data is somewhat usable when comparing products in the same family
At 6000 at all or specific configurations?
Damn really? Thought 2 dimms at 6000 would be relatively easy
Interesting

Audiophile brand make gaming headset

In this video, Resolve provides an overview of the revolutionary new Audeze Maxwell gaming headset. In this video, he does a deep dive on of all of its functions and features, along with a lengthy discussion on the Maxwell's sound quality for both music and gaming. Check out how this does for audiophiles as well as gamers.
Audeze Maxwell: https...
what ones those?
Audeze Maxwell
ooh
AUDEEZNUTS
they are planar magnetic with an EQ pre-applied

🤦♀️
on the high end for headsets
USE FUCKING 3.5MM PLEASE
because fuck you and wanting everything to be the same standard
Confused in Sennheiser, long boi 2.5mm
o.o
2.5mm isnt uncommon as a balanced connection.
skinny and long, ayy
it's the twist lock that is annoying
It is when the plug is injection needle long.
oh, that wacky connector
what is sidetone?
well my headphones can only take XLR.
hearing yourself
ooh
The port is recessed into their phones, so part of the actual connector must be 2.5mm and no wider or it won't go in.
wrong
its so chunky
its quite significantly more than 2.5mm
I assume Sidetone is like for... closed ear headphones? Never saw the point of using it.
and theres 2, one for each driver
but its still very thin for a cable
You know what I mean 😄
Motherduckers.

Buy an Audio-Technica ATH-M50xSTS-U...
dafuq he just say?
(timestamped for your pleasure)
casually freestyling
get audeze headphones
Do you not english? That was easy for me to understand 😄
I got LCD-5s not too long ago. along with a brand new sennheiser AMP and DAC.
the sennheiser amp at the store disappointed me significantly, i had a btr3 and it sounded alooot better lmao
HDV 820?
the material of the earcup really has a big effect on sound?!
how much does it affect it?
pretty significant sometimes
depends on the headphones but most itll change pretty wildly
esp closed backs
and going from breathable to sealed pads
yea
so, whats better to use? I have fake leather or this sort of fabric-like material
try em
damn, don't see many people maining that
feel bad, my experience with the store model was awful
feel bad? its an AMP
if I had fuck you money, I would get a Holo Bliss + Holo May stack
just for the style points
O.o
its $2k+ and sounded worse to me than a $110 unit
you spent 2.4 grand on AMP????
lcd5 are 5k
o.o
so wouldn't be surprised
it works fine for me
yes, audio stuff aint cheap
sure but theres other work fine options for alot less money
you should see my home theater setup
lmao
o.o
kitsune.... is it actually themed after Holo from the anime?!

only if I win the lottery
oh yeah, Moondrop are the weeb brand that have waifus all over their product boxes
Chi-fi is insane atm
getting good sound is getting cheaper and cheaper, but high end will always be high end
yup site screams audiophile scam trap lmao
arent PCIE audio cards fake?
why do you think I call it a scam
ah
mine wasnt the collab one, mine was just the normal HDV820
huh?
In of itself? No. These filter super cards? Yes.
there are real pcie audio cards lol
but these filters are
🤔 I see
ofc. there are even crazy 32 channel ones
I always ignore weird filters
256 and 1000+ channel ones exist
ifi sells a lot of random filters, but their amp and dac are fine
remember the "audiophile network switch"?
btw there are actual audio switches
I mean there are multiple such scam products on the kitsune site so for me that makes it a scam site that might rebrand good gear as well xd
he's talking about the one where they just use a regular network switch and add stuff to iy
they're kinda stupid though, my cisco switch is fine lmao
for dante and avb you do in fact need qos
only some switches support those protocols
switches handling nothing but digital will do nothing to your sound quality
unless its actually corrupting the data being transferred in some way, in which case you'd know
well you could compress digitally
for dante and avb you need specific support
but switches don't mess with your packets (typically)
without explicit supports, it may not get the packet routed fast enough and youll miss a packet
https://www.thomannmusic.com/marian_clara_e.htm
when you have a hall large enough to have hundreds of speakers, you are often dealing with many switches chained, and getting the signal through in real time can be a challenge
?
what
packet loss is def a thing, but audiophiles be pretenting their snake oil switches make the sound "crisper" and "warmer" sounding
what's the problem with open back planars
or whatever buzzword the marketing pulled out of their asses
yep thats obv complete bs
but therre are switches for audio that do things
actually you very rarely see closed back planars
yeah
Yo why does it say I’m on a controller when I open csgo
just move your mouse
weak, only 8 channels
this has 1024 channels with 1024x1024 routing
https://www.techspot.com/news/98232-sony-patents-deformable-controller-gets-hotter-colder-while.html
Now this is innovation
1024 channels sounds like overkill for even the largest recording studios
that's including having like a hundred sends
its mostly for atmos style stuff
where you need 200+ speakers
there are also line array speakers that have 10+ drivers on one unit and you have dozens of them
again complete guesswork, specifically mentioned to be just based on zen 3 to zen 4 perf uplift
I’ve seen this pop up more than once. Even though Keller is Zen’s uncle, no one should read into this.
- Int throughput != perf != IPC
- These are projections, not data. Every company does this for their competitors
opening links are so buggy for me today
bleh regular embed shows gif not image, fxshows image not gif and not gun emoji
either way, just speculation
they took the spec version their AI chip competes in, took zen4 * 30% and used that as a guess
yeah, it's just funny to see these rumors already just after 7800X3D embargo
yeah its just sites not doing proper journalism to get clicks once again
ok chrome needed to be updated
oh maybe my super resolution works now for videos
There aren’t many competitors to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 so we’re thrilled to see Tecno bring a lower priced alternative to market with the Phantom V Fold. The phone has an aluminum frame, faux leather back and an outer 6.42” curved OLED display and an inner OLED 7.85” display. The look is nearly identical to the Z Fold 4 overall but at an $...
1 grand instead of 1.5 grand!
the only thing is that everyone else's software seems half baked compared to samsung
I'll either get a samsung or pixel foldable
is a Pixel one happening?
soney
once my S20 FE starts feeling old
does that phone get the 5 years of Android updates Samsung promises since last year?
or not cause its more than a year old
I think it might have just missed it
Yeah :/
my s21 just got a pretty major update
yeah starting from S21 should be like 5 years
Sony?
Nosy
yah
they have a foldable coming?
foldable?
yeah we were talking about foldables
ew
and samsung's software for foldable is the best
probably, I don't use dex much
no i mean on the internal screen
hmmm leme check
it doesnt run dex exterally which is why i ask
Android 13 + HiOS
hmm, idk shit about HiOS
Carlcare
Tecno's Obamacare for phones
doesn't seem like it
double ew
why you want Dex on touchscreen?
because its a significantly better tablet experience than stock android?
and the point of the foldables is its a smol tablet
L O A F
I used the camera on my cat, and it looked at the cats face and the ears and it said "FOOD"
🤔
HHHMMMM
OOOFF
Disagreed
Imo, Dex is a bit shite unless you work wuth your tablet
which is why its off by default?
As much as I dislike HP laptops, at least they have cool names for them
DragonFly, Omen, Envy, Pavillion, Spectre
They arent like HP X33Rt4t45888
Tf is HP Dragonfly
Their business laptop range
well they do actually have those at the low end
previous job we sold laptops with no real name
Dragonfly sounds like one of those overpriced audio dongles
I thought it was for Arm pc
New for 2023, the HP Dragonfly Pro is a 14” Ultrabook geared toward freelancers. It runs Windows 11 on the AMD Ryzen 7 7736U CPU with integrated Radeon graphics. HP Backyard, HP Bag of Crisps, HP Tax Report
gimme gimme
p sure that the first dragonfly was that first intel hybrid chip
I can't be mad at that naming
I thought razer uses years
I can, cause you dont know WTF year it was launched in
It's just Blade (2021) -> (2022) -> (2023)
current models are all core
interesting
yep you have to look carefully to find that sort of info
I'd be pretty happy if the next Samsung or Apple phone is "Galaxy (2024)" or iPhone 2024
I mean samsung already did, S23 = 2023
S24 = 2024
so pretty
S11
we need more Pink laptops and tech
20 was 20, 21 was 21 22 was 22
Wtf is S11
yeah they made the change since the S20
they started after then ye
theres no s11 btw
went 8 9 10 20
nope
not mainline galaxy
i mean some weakass desktops got it lmao
the DragonFly got 4 dedictaed keys on the keyboard for technical support and shit
wtf
?
800 series for Nvidia
rewmor saitez
rumors fam
Cause I remember the hype for S11
when it was a rumor
Not a rumour if some tech website says it exists
Or the fact there is a fuck ton of cases for it I can order right now from a local retailer?
I am dead ass confused, I swear there was an S11
No sirree
is 11 an unlucky number in Korea or something?
Prolly just wanted to match the year
Too expensive
Pay up more for a dongle
With chroma RGB
Yeah if the surface pros can have a headphone jack, any laptop can
true xd
On cute news, https://reshade.me/releases/8700-5-8#45292
Is Reshade an official AMD thing?
wat dis
Oh speaking of, i requisitioned a surface book 2 and it is really nice
More new Reshade
It's not
idk wtf reshade is
Works on anything
o
I always heavily associated Reshade with AMD, dunno why that correlation is in my brain
Reshade is the mod for adding filters and effects and all to anything
And Relies on it for some features that Nvidia has built in lel
It's a bit more than that tbf
Maybe cause its not a gamery name like Nvidia would typically use xd
its not an nvidia thing either
I know
Well at least FidelityFX is an AMD thing
Wait since when?
Never quite took a look at how different they are, Fidelity and Reshade
fidelityFX looks like ass
same
FidelityFX is the entire software suite so I don’t think you are talking about what you think you are
I'm talking about every game that's had the option to use it
I like it on the steam deck
again, its a software suite unless you can visualize a parallel sort algorithm its not what you think it is
yeah
FSR is one part, CAS is another, ambient occlusion, SSR etc.
Probably talking about fsr since it's the only thing that gets used
the upscaling thing
You say that but it's so far the only post scaling I've ever seen without sharpening artifacts
I mean I still dont use either dlss or fsr because I dislike the issues I can see so the older version are just worse imo even if they had other strong points
I just have a grievance with complaining about the wrong things/inaccurately ¯_(ツ)_/¯
I wonder how many games end up using amd tech without being public about it.
it mostly being mit licensed may have it fly under the radar
I know tressfx made it's way around under the radar
it would be even more used if they could get someone dedicated on their teams for that
and kick unitys ass so stuff gets implemted sooner
fsr2 still needs manual support or an asset store plugin to work in unity
because its just on the roadmap and not in yet
AMD definitely could use more manpower on the gpu software front
Actively working with Godot could be an angle they could take, that engine does seem to slowly be gaining some traction and due to it's open source nature implementing open source amd tech would be easier
I am not talking about fsr specifically, but fair enough
the others are relatively easier to add like other effects but fair
Still it does have potential, at least as a prooving ground
and if it pays off it would be advantagious for amd as open source tech can be directly integrated
putting one software guy to add stuff for godot is a waste while unreal./unity are lacking features
Fair enough, they should definitely push for unreal / unity as well, but I don't know how easy it would be for them to contribute code to it
I can't wait to see how Lumen performs
other than write integrations and hope they get pushed upstream
unreal is open source, so just make the Pullrequest if they were to not directly work with them worst case
god i wish they would just make fsr completely postprocessing
didn't say free OSS 😛
also oh god do you want to kill any UI text?
oss != foss
Open source as a term has a specific meaning, I don't want to go into that debate right now
works fine on the steam deck
@astral haven I forgot, did you need an adapter to use the nreal with a laptop?
not if the laptop has usb c
the adapter is for using it with a dgpu that doesnt have usb c
Actually messed around with FSR on youtube video's after the nvidia upscaling announcement, actually fsr1 works reasonably well as a video upscaling algorythm.
it works sure but so much less issues if you properly add it in the earlier render stages
Using FSR upscaling is really only a last resort for me most of the time on my deck.
my experience with normal upscaling algs on videos is it emphasizes the artifacts
oh god I dont even see FSR2 on the unity roadmap currently
time to write another feedback ticket
Unity sounds like fun
the idea where they want to get to with their current pipeline is amazing
the roadmap to get there is a mess
....
no you want to keep unstable stuff away from your regular users
its so large ;-;
like fucking TAA is only in the next beta lmfao
to be fair if its a good TAA varaint thats fine but how tf is that not in as a basic feature
Ubuntu's new installer is written in Flutter, strange choice but ok
foveated rendering is only in progress and not even in alpha despite unity having a good foothold in the Vr space
Feels kind of weird, but feel like they are focussing getting new business over quality of life improvements that while very important are not make or break things choosing an engine.
Hey guys, I recently bought a Wooting 60HE keyboard, and now I'm facing a problem with the input delay, when I press the buttons quickly, it stops responding for a few seconds, especially in Fortnite. Can someone help me fix this problem?
I can't find my problem there
So you post a ticket yourself
then you can make a ticket for it there
Ok, thank you !

This review looks at the unreleased 3dfx Voodoo 5 6000 video card -- except it was hand-made by an enthusiast who specializes in retro hardware resurrections. It's a quad-GPU monster that competed with the likes of NVIDIA back in the...

You can't convince me that isn't Henry Cavill on that box art. On a card that's decades old.

looks like henry cavill as a warhammer character
does anyone here know what the actuation point for the Logitech G915 TKL is?
Button heavy???
It seems pretty even to me
Ubuntu font is amazing
I really love it
yea ubuntu is a bit weird
this is where it's at
just use Inter 😀
Product sans
Ah even longer wan
Smh YouTube stuck on waiting for download
Download with Seal
Oh wait
You use iPhone
I mean free android apps typically push about 40 ads per second in your face so its not like they're that usable anyways
s e a l
This doesn't have ads
so its a paid app?
No
so it harvests all your data then
It's a front end to yt-dlp
And open source
sus
It’s just that when I pay for YouTube premium, which I actually don’t, would be nice if I could download this. Downloading other things works, but not latest wan show
S e a l
Was about to say something till I read the rest
I've never used it for download tbh
I got it because I was sick of jailbreaking my iPad for ad blocking and background play
would this bypass engine delimiters?
the shit european cars have to prevent cars from driving without the key
its like the 80s all over again
except then cars didn't have enough tech to effectively prevent theft, now they have too much unnescessary tech bloat instead
A what?
idk the proper name
its a thing that prevents the car from moving if the key is not in the ignition
its to prevent theft
That's what smart key is
huh?
90s/00s immobilizers were actually pretty effective at stopping thefts
This spams smart key good signals to the ecu, drownig out the smart key bad signal from the real smart key
yes thats the word
all this keyless crap just opens up for a bunch of security holes
Because Toyota didn't encrypt that part of the can
This works on key equiped Toyotas too
I hate cars that dont need a key to work, it just seems like a security risk waiting to happen
You just have to force over the ignition too
I mean it takes seconds to by pass the key part too
Toyotas are one of the easier keys too
It's just not news that thieves stole a car with keys
Because they have been doing that since they put keys in cars
that wasn't really the case with most immobilizers before all this keyless entry/"smart" nonsense
Yeah it is
Lol
It depends on what brand
Brands like bmw take their security seriously
Most Asian brands dont
There a bunch of factory immobilizer bypasses
Toyota being on of them
its news because its a new security that gets bypassed but regular keys are so easy to fake too
only difference is you can skip the 2 minute tutorial on how to do it manually
Also it's crazy that you get it inside a speaker
All the fob relay stuff look sketchy
with the right tech and skills anything is possible, its arguably a lot easier to acquire these things now than it was in the earlier days of immobilizers though so less joyride thefts
Guys rtx electronics is affidable?
now those kinds of thefts are seeing a resurgence
what
I mean good designed cars use encrypted can for secure functions
And they have a forced timer for re-programming the security keys
yeah its literally the same, insecure wireless is like an old car using a key that is so flat you can turn it with any long metal piece
yeah so we're back to the 80s difficulty of boosting a car
I mean you still have cars that dont use basic securities and can be stolen with fake keys
The headlight network shouldn't have the key on it
we're just back to using a new toy to steal it
And the headlight to ecu relay shouldn't re transmit functions that aren't on it's network
having inconsistency like that helps for legibility in all sizes, it really helps for people with dyslexia but in general it helps everybody
whats the name of that font thats really REALLY bottom heavy? some Linux distros use it as an accessibility font
its almost bulbous on the lower half
.
im planning on building my second computer, can u guys help me find ANY problems with this specs right here (or any bottlenecking or if u can pick a part that gives more fps around the same budget)
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: colorful igame GeForce RTX 4070 ti oc v vulcan
ram: g.skills trident z5 neo rgb ddr5 6000mhz cl30
motherboard: rog strix b650e-e gaming wifi
ssds: wd black sn850x 2tb + 1tb + 1tb
power supply: corsair hx1000i 2022
cooler: nzxt kraken z73
am5 nzxt mount
cooler master v3 vertical gpu mount kit
thermaltake am5 corrector
case: nzxt h9 elite
lian li unifan 3x pack sl120 inf x3
lian li strimer plus v2 12 pin 4 motherboard
Since I don’t care about looks I would go for cheaper case, air cooler for half the price and get a better gpu instead
what air cooler do u recommend
i heard they fixed thermal issues
so i got 1 just in case
thats for intel 12th gen, on amd you dont have thermal issues from mounting frames
for cpu coolers either a noctua nhd15 or maybe a dark rock pro 4 or something like that
i got 1 just in case lmao
its like 60 bucks
Insurance
yeah the am5 corrector does nothing lol
But also hide an air tag
yeah people getting real hung up on liquid cooling these days
an air cooler literally saved me like 100$
unless you live somewhere ridiculously hot or plan to overclock a bunch its really not nescessary
couldnt buy an used 4080 in my country as it literally sell at 1100$

wait fr?
I'd argue that unless your PC is outside in Dubai's sweltering heat, the ambient temps and thus your coolant given an efficient loop should still win out.
Though at a cost of course. I won't touch closed loop AIO
ohhhh
lol
anyways even going for a cheaper case and cheaper air cooler wont get me an used 4080 lol
4070 ti for me is a sweet spot
what about a 7900xt
for the majority of users its just a lot more work, money and maintenance for negligible benefits
its idle wattage is like 100w
not really, that was a bug on launch with multimonitor
is it fixed
or not
i am a 2 monitor user
yes since months
yup
real
i have seen a review of a 6900xt by zwormz in minecfaft
that thing hits 1800 fps with medium setting
but amd for multiple monitors is not the sweetest spot
it consumps like 80% of its power in minecfaft
i know but nvidia’s power consumption while using 2 monitors are lower
wait lol
thtas the 1080p results
even though its on 1080 its still have a gpu bottleneck
heck yeah mine only draws 14W
i think i might go with the xtx i think
do u think its good for 2 monitors and still doesnt lose performance
oh yeah works too, wasnt sure of budget so I only suggested the XT
ive never tried amd b4
doesn't lose you any performance unless you run a second game on screen 2
oh no i can go with the xtx
its totally fine
ig
do amd cards have thermal issues though
kk
im watching reviews of it rn
i forgot amds card are terrible at rtx
lol
I mean, unless we get something like last of us and you have a 3070 with not enough vram and then amd its miles ahead even in raytracing dues to larger vram
but I mean personally I dont think Rt on even a 4090 is good enough to warrant using it so depends on how much you like it
i mean what will you rate the xtx compares with 4080 in mc raytracing at 4k
I mean I dont turn on RTX on my 4090 because I dont hit my fps target lol
I wanted to play with it in control because that looks nice
but I couldnt hit enough fps on my resolution with it
but in general it should be about on par with the 4080, sometimes better sometimes worse
yeah, just in a bigger way than physx since its still faked physics just better
nah far from it
this gen is basically like last gen nvidia in rtx, more or less
no that was on purpose

like nvidias last gen performance in rtx implementation
since general DXR nvidia already lost a bit of their headstart
for example
oh yeah for sure, it's still very much an edge case for most games
does ANYONE have 2 monitors issues using displayport 2.1 for 2 2k 240hz monitors witht he 7900 xtx
just making sureo
LOL
works just fine for someone with that setup I know in another discord
ah yes, if you run the same desktop on all these distros, sure, OFC only the kernel is the same in them all LOL
/s
Yep
They do
doesnt lose performance?
I got neofetch working on termux
the same it would lose on nvidia
And apt works
so basically nothing
Yep xd
I once used a command line launcher
It was pretty cool
The Linux version of metro games don't have any graphical settings :/
Only basic brightness and resolution
Nope...last time I played last light it had no settings
idk if raytracing on mesa is even working yet
Did you not hear the news a few years ago?
GOG no support Linux
Not anymore
They dropped Linux support
Ironic.
The general problem with benchmarking ray tracing in general is that you can't really do it in isolation, different parts of the gpu get loaded by rendering.
If you want an ideal scenario for AMD you would generally make heavy use of sharders combined with ray tracing
If you want an ideal scenario for nvidia you would path-trace a relatively simple older game
https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/01/amd-ray-tracing-on-linux-gets-closer-with-mesa-enabling-specific-games/ from january
so some seem to work but not in general yet
Well feral's days of porting games to linux are mostly over anyway with how well wine works nowadays
Was it feral that ported borderlands 2?
Cause that port can't reach more than like 20fps for me...
Runs fine under proton though
Keyboard don't matter
In case of total war games, multiplayer was not compatible with the feral version, so nowadays I just use wine even though a native version is availble
For me that works fine, although I have not tried weird keyboard layouts
Multiple monitors....yeah
That can be finicky
the bl2 "port" to linux was done by gearbox
There are definitely some issues, but not having a per monitor refresh rate and multi monitor + adaptive sync really kills using xorg
because unreal runs on linux without many changes in most cases
Except when using nvidia because well nvidia on linux...
Nvidia is still holding back Wayland progress :/
Cause even if shit works fine on Intel and AMD
It gets held back because it doesn't work on Nvidia drivers
I wouldn't go that far, wayland is a focal point for much of the space and there are definitely issues being tackled
I will give you that, Nvidia does not go well with the Linux desktop.
I mean to quote Linus, "fuck you Nvidia" lol
That should definitely become an emoji here at this point
Is the lithium grease ok for lubing the springs ?
cope linus
Was bored for a bit:

If anyone wants to make an nvidia emoji
if steamOS ever becomes mainstream for desktop use, AMD gpus go brrrr

I actually wonder how is the driver experience on linux vs windows
for AMD?
AMD drivers are already built into the kernel and activate if you have the hardware, so you dont really have to do anything
if you need to fix tearing, you just add a line to a config file and reboot
are issues (if any) resolved through updates (daily? weekly? monthly?) or do you have to fix em yourself?
huh?
you can start by enjoying the gitlab issue tracker to find if it exists
or maybe they added a section to the radv discord nowadays
well, unless you use amdvlk instead of mesa radv etc.
is the boardzy one still available?
no idea wtf that one is
same mouse different aesthetics
rip, what kind of mouse are you looking for?
One with onboard settings storage
lighter than my current mouse cause its heavy
and one that works ok without being on a mousepad cause my desk is too small for one
can definitely fit one of those weeb boob mousepad
had a mousepad before, had to put the right sid eof the keyboardf on it

might be out of price range
but vaxee XE wireless?
DPI, Polling rate, debounce all on the mouse
with those 3 buttons
lol yeah
no its not...
if you have space to move around you have enough space to put something under it
not every mouspad is 45x45cm
10 bucks for this logitech one
barely bigger than your open palm
76 grams
not the lightest, but should be better than that roccat
oo pink one
whats that button under the scroll wheel for?
🤦♀️ im actually fucking retarded
I was wondering what differences each model has
its literally just the color varient
can it be remapped to say, play/pause for music?
cause my current mouse has a DPI button under the scroll that I rebound to toggle that instead
WAIT, you need to buy the fucking receiver separately ???
Vaxee is basically a bunch of old Zowie employees forming a company
Interesting, they are a Ducky keyboard reseller
the wired version of the mice has the bulkiest cable connection ive ever seen ever
why so bulky??
🤔 hhmm
I guess easy replacement
XE wireless would be an insta-buy for me if it was lighter
but 76 grams is actually 1-2 grams heavier than my viper ultimate
?
122 grams
almost 50 grams less
^

75 grams
logitech has a similar looking cable on the g pro wireless, its for making the connection more secure and less susceptible to damage by cable strain and pulls
oh wow the kone pro iair is 80 buck atm
it was like 120 at launch
guess it haven't been selling well
that's why I'm still waiting for the DAV3 to go on sale
also got my viper ultimate with the dock for only 80 3 years ago
paid about the same for my gpw
could have gotten a viper ultimate with the stand for almost the same price but then I would have had to put up with synapse
so logitech it was
I honestly have not been bothered by synapse at all so far
I had it for my kraken x headset and I hated it lol
I still use that headset but I didn't even bother installing synapse on my most recent system reinstall
I found a really niche product
Magsafe compatible AMP/DAC
oh ..those things are mega expensive
the Fiio is made for Apple??
oh? how much?
it seems its not just for Magsafe, but this is just an added bonus for using it with an iPhone
interesting... hardware support for magsafe is hardly just a bonus feature IMO
nvm ..it is mega expensive
wait
its an actual smartphone like device ?
wack!
oo
Oppo, interesting
the only dedicated music player I had that was like a smartphone was an iPod Touchback in the day, before that I had a portable cassette player and CD player after that
then moved to an iPod Nano, the one with the iconic round touch wheel
yes...the touch basically was xd
they literally sound as good as Airpods
Airpods sound real good?
ah, fair enough
I think in some songs, my wireless buds sound better than my headphones do
more detail to it
but then in other genres, my headphones are miles ahead
could be just the high end making them sound like they have more detail
my wireless buds are fairly bass heavy
at least, compared to my headphones
the bass slider in the phone is set to the second lowest level
its just a slider, no exact measurements
You ever decide on a desktop amp/dac?
I love those things
they are xd
A Van de Graaff generator is an electrostatic generator which uses a moving belt to accumulate electric charge on a hollow metal globe on the top of an insulated column, creating very high electric potentials. It produces very high voltage direct current (DC) electricity at low current levels. It was invented by American physicist Robert J. Van ...
oo right
had a teacher bring one in my physics class, everybody was scared of touching it except me and one other person
at most it'll be a slight sting but nothing much
its safe to constantly touch it but not to tap it, apparently xd
I'm used to getting shocked anytime I get out of bed and touch my lightswitch to ground myself
wat
well by constantly holding it you're not giving it time to build up static
yup :P
turns out a bed in a extremely dry room with carpet will let out some nasty static
oh
i have a plasma ball that is way to strong/big and it dose the same thing
fun times
this thing is so cool
:')
Idek where you buy this... That site doesn't give the option
Oo...
its a last gen laptop chip on a board, not much regular consumer usecases for that
Wait
This website needs business details in order to get a price for it
yes
Squirt?
🤨
Well that was weird
People often associate monster energy drinks with crap, so you saying crap may mislead customers to think you are talking about monster energy drinks limited, for which we shall create a lawsuit against you
fucking love that meme xd
The smell alone is enough to make me gag when thinking of energy drinks
Water is the best energy drink
It does not do anything you want to use an energy drink for though
Get fat, caffeine overdose, nasty aftertaste
I mostly just do coffee now.
That's not for energy tho' just to get rid of the headaches
Well that's a caffeine addiction,. you can just slowly use less until they are gone
I usually have about 1 liter per day
Coffee that is
Used to drink a lot more like 15 years ago, along with 2 cans of some random energy drinks
Then dropped both for a year and replaced them with japanese green tea

Coffee is best
