wii u tablet but useful I guess
So it might not do anything by itself
So to use your handheld you need a PS5
Both have to be on and you have to be in the same network
That is not a good idea, imo, phones can do the same thing already
I bought my psp go from someone who used it for exactly that purpose
but that was over a decade ago
Vita is still incredibly underrated
Honestly just killed by proprietary storage and most of all sony's lack of support
sony apparently weren't happy about sales figures not matching nintendo switch
still sold quite well from what I recalled

I think he accepted it: https://twitter.com/LinusTech/status/1643403195232796672
Is the review embargo for the 7800x3d today?
not much to see about it?
was fairly decently covered with the 7950x3d with one ccd disabled already
The interesting thing would be where prices will stabilize at
apparently yes
Grab our BRAND NEW Silicone Project & Solder Mat! https://store.gamersnexus.net/products/gn-project-soldering-mat - we just launched this mat this week! It's an awesome work surface for all kinds of projects, ranging from electronics repair to crafts. The surface is extremely heat resistant, is easy to clean of most paints, flux, and solder, and...
lmao
Now just wait for someone to uv it
emulation is also an easy win it seems
especially for ps3 emulation since they have avx512 unlike intel xd
Aaand of course Linus' video is a giant clickbait
yeah its a bit weird
what video
Clickbait works
Their coverage of aforementioned CPU.
Well for me it actively discourages me from watching it š
wait there is a linux video?
Exactly
he's mad that amd launched the more expensive ones first so consumers find more comparisons of those?
lemme guess "better at games" yadda yadda?
its a bit weird because thats how all tech works, he literally mentions it in gpus as well
like, is he still mad TR zen3 isnt there due to market not exisitng?
it's how you make sales on halo products
The difference between the benchmarking of Linus and co and someone like GN is just massive
I get that LTT is supposed to be digestible for noobies and is widely approachable, but man is it redundant
? what benchmarking difference is there
the numbers seemed the same this time so whats the issue here with the benches
The market dose exist
And is just pricing TR pro crazy high because no competition
Seems it's actually a bit more efficient than the 7950x3d with 1 ccx disabled
TR pro dosent cost amd anymore per product. They could of just replaced TR with tr pro with a small price bump
Making it still available as diy
But they didnt
Yes it exists but not enough for amd to care when intel canāt compete and epyc needs the same chips
Lol
It's all the same chips
Only apu and mobile use different chips
Yes but any tr could be an epyc chip sold with higher margins
No they just priced out the prosumer for nothing other than getting more money from business customers
They have a different io die
So it's the same as saying any Ryzen could be eypc
yea it is just amd refusing profit
well yeah but you have 1-2 dies on ryzen vs up to 8 on epyc so and there is value in getting marketshare and all that in a TAM that is vastly above the TAM of workstations
You're having a hard time reading?
It's the opposite
TR would sell, just at less profit than epyc
AMD threw prosumer under the bus for more money from big customers buying TR pro
and for the longest time during Zen3 they have been fully supply constraint
If they would of just slapped 20% on TR to tr pro, prosumer would buy it
But instead it's more like 60%
lel
I fear zen4 will stomp on SR and AMD will keep it's TR Pro pricing
I expect that to be the case
I dont think FHF is enough to get amd to launch regular zen4 TR
unless they want the marketshare
Plus once AMD perfects stacking is going to be bulldozer years for intel
Oh wow even the 13600k still uses like 50w more
5ghz zen 4 x3d would be insane
gotta applaud intel for raptor lake though
7800x3d should be popular in the EU
image if they didnt decide to squeeze that refresh in and we still only had 12th gen

Yeah
12th gen be looking bad lol
Crazy that amd has over 20% boost waiting in bonding tech lol
Bonding tech?
curious how zen5 is going to be just as a first look at the 5 ryzen generations they had since the redesign of the company, since zen5 was started to be thought about while zen1 came out
The current tech is extremely thermally limited
Hence the voltage/oc limits
But imagine 5.7 ghz out of x3d
With CPUs getting hotter and hotter, I wonder if manufacturers might get more creative with the IHS.
Like an IHS that's also a liquid cooler. So you just connect a custom loop to it
no the IHS is just a fancy cover to stop die cracking from bad mounting and such
Ihs also is only using glue/solder for attachment
And hotter isn't an issue unless it doesn't meet the specs
^
Only issue with zen 4 is the ihs thickness
Which is why modern chips just always run at thermal or power limits under load
Because amd keep cooler compatible
Unlike intel
if you stack stuff you need to cool more stuff in a die, the IHS is not relevant for that
the best IHS wont change how hot the part below the stacked cache gets
3d cache is the same height
Either way the X3D chips runs relatively cool
I mean the zen cores below the cache, inside the package
More transitions means more heat getting trapped.
There are no thermal sensors readable in the 3d cache
So you have no idea lol
Well the normal cpu sensors suggests it runs cool
doesn't matter, you can do direct die cooling and it would still be limited since the vcache acts like a IHS for the cores below it lol
so making the IHS better when the part that needs better cooling is below what the IHS touches wont change anything
Yeah that's on the normal die
The stacked die could be running way hotter
Would AMD or Intel ever consider shipping a CPU without an IHS?
thats how it used to be in the past
The 7800x3d was running in the 60s
They do
For mobile
In hardware Canucks video
but also no point in doing that again, IHS is not the bottleneck for desktop when we are getting stacked chips
the stacked part needs the cooling
So 13600K w/DDR4 is still better value?
for value you probably go with like a 12400f or similar
7800x3d was never about value
Yeah even the 5800x3d wasn't a value buy
Ok or getting a good deal for the 5800X3D is too an option š
older gens always depend on what you can get locally for ram/board/cpu prices since that fluctuates more
There was recently an ''Upgrade kit'' priced at 999,90⬠and the parts where : Gigabyte B650E, 7900X & 32GB DDR5 @6000MHz
the one CCD on a 7800x3d is a chiplet made from 2 dies
They bond a second die
so the temperature of the cores doesnt necessarily reflect the temps in the L3 cache on top
Ahh ok
The bonding between the dies isn't very good thermally
Which is why amd limits voltage
@vagrant pagoda looks like they did add some sensors
Where is that from?
chipsncheese discord
The 7900 and 7950 didn't get extra l3 temp
Is the second l3 any different than the first?
dunno yet
They didn't show the actual readings?
nah just that image, trying to find out more
Why in the world would you only take a picture of that
Unless the reading was bogus
oh its not new, it's there since zen3 last year apparently and not for the stacked cache
I wish people would benchmark paradox games more,
For now I will use this as an analog:
Seems like a good option
thats why the idea of something like userbenchmark is nice, if they wouldn't be run by someone with an intel cpu in their ass
or 10
Userbenchmarks won't help here as there is no good build in option and the variance is quite high. You would be benchmarking time til x while in observer mode at speed 5.
Also a good reason why reviewers don't run it, you could setup a scenario, maybe with mods but it would be a lot of work to get something repeatable.
sure but you could add infos or recordings or anything to have a general idea
wont cover every case but could if done right do a lot more infos than detailed reviews can
maybe LTTs labs software can help out there, if they fuck up data maybe the users can make it good at least
The only thing I'm interested coming out of LTT labs are headphone measurements
At least those will use industry standard tools
the more the variance, the more samples you need
except technically their website is homebrewed so does that count as not using industry standard tools š¤¦āāļø
theres no good tool for mass pc benchmarking that isnt run by a tool
ubm? ew
capframex? same basically
so they need their own tool
oh dont remind me of copeframe
they really need to just fire the guy running the twitter account
such a waste of software when run by someone like that
to be entirely fair tho, the tool is great, but when a tool is in charge, its difficult to trust it

besides that, i think that ltt will be the first to numerically measure the binding of keyboards, which I would love to know before recommending stuff, especially cheaper stuffs
before launch he goes about how the 7950x3d wont beat 13900k, silence about the topic in the forums since the launch, now he looks at the one review that did not follow the review guide and reinstalled the chipset drivers and had results from the bugged install just to present it as if amd is bad or something
so annoying when people have such an obvious agenda and cant even try to act neutral
sure go ahead and point out the bug, but how many consumers will go from a 2ccd vcache chip to a single ccd vcache chip even lol
Interestingly the 7800x3d does seem to lose to the 7950x3d with one ccd disabled, be it by a few percent at least according to tweakers: https://tweakers.net/reviews/10988/17/amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d-de-langverwachte-intel-killer-in-games-extra-test-gesimuleerde-7800x3d-vs-de-echte.html
I am unsure on how good their testing was considering mixed results and it should point to one direction.
yeah it has ever so slightly lower clocks
and probably boosts for less
no they keep boost clocks under load
its not like the old intel tau1 etc. where you get 10second burst of clocks
https://tpucdn.com/review/amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d/images/boost-clock-analysis.png
its still rather janky
shrug, my 5800x boosts ST perf
well thats not sustained load that is different thread counts
its a medium duration load ye
god i really wish someone would make an am5 board with an x8 4.0 or x16 3.0 slot
call asrock and order enough and they make it for you
doubt it considering asus didnt make one this gen even after making one for am4
I forgot where I read it from but doesn't Asus basically have its hand is all the other 3 brands?
Does anyone know some good wireless IEM's (the more harman the better), dont care for bass, don't wanna EQ just want flat boring sound for acoustic music mostly and vocals
100-200$
define wireless
no wires
Probably whatever is the current most popular set
fiio utws3 + salnotes zero
Oh those fit most iems?
yep
might want to get the mmcx version regardless
then a 2 pin adapter if you have 2 pin iems
Thanks, that's a good suggestion but maybe something crappier, bc those weigh 125g. I'm sure they sound better but I just want something really low weight and comfortable
they hook around the ear
out of akg n400, galaxy buds+, wfxm4, utws3 the utws3 are the most secure

if you want crappier tho, cca cra+ az09 combo is cheap and works, but is solidly bass
fuck im lazy Im just looking at Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless
and akg400
those seem promising
If you own a samsung phone just get the galaxy buds for convenience
and galaxy buds are solidly the most harman
I just want it for PC usage haha
n400 has a bit of the ear piercing sound issue
Haram
Just don't get any of senheisers wireless stuff
None of it is worth it
I love my fiios
The fiio ft3 looks interesting
I have the true wireless ones
why do you want wireless?
https://crinacle.com/guide/tws/
I think anything on here would be fine
That's dosent change the aq
what
What headphones has it always on?
the n400 and galaxy buds all verifiably dont
Yeah
as do the wfxm4
nope
and you are sure that its the microphone that is broken and not your firmware?
i mean sonys firmware updater is pretty garbage
You sure the actual PCB inside wasn't damaged
but if you clocked it hard enough that you think you broke the mic, what makes you think the rest of the device is working as intended?
And not the mic
My fiios you can even disable the anc for the mic
Which is neet
I mean you'd never be able to tell with naked eye
The stuff is super tiny and covered in conformal coating
Because touch controls suck ass
Single control is best
Anyone good with PC hardware who could DM me? Planning on upgrading, but can't pick the correct CPU
It's only better for purely gaming and even then it's sort of 50/50 between games that like the L3 cache and games that prefer higher frequency - I've been looking at benchmarks the past 3-4 hours trying to figure it out, but so many of them show different results which makes things a tad confusing
Look at the gap between the x3d and x
Spaghetti code goes zoom
This is how going from a 5900x to 5800x3d felt
RimWorld was my go-to at the time and it was easily 2x improvement across the board l9l
unless you specifically want intel to get the intel quicksync chip for twitch streaming there's no reason I'd pick intel over a 7800x3d right now
yeah the nvidia is barely worse for streaming quality to a non noticable level
no nvidia is better
not right now no
just slows down your game more
intels quicksync is a little better
for image quality and such
but it's basically non noticable, especially when you consider a lot of your audience is watching in non full quality
maybe vs 30 series
I mean am5 has video encoding on igpu
but 40 series nv is measureably better than 13th gen or arc
nah even 40 series, trust me - intel is better there, but it doesn't matter in the big picture since audience won't notice
Not even close lol
40 series uses the same chip encoding but with av1 added, but av1 isn't available on twitch yet
im gonna need some sauce on that, the epos benchmarks of 40 series were insanely impressive
i mean, you can look up videos on the quality differences with intel quicksync and nvenc
yes epos is using av1
av1 isn't a thing on twitch
he's showcasing youtubes av1 but twitch won't have that for 1-2 years or more
Anyway that only effects a small market
With intel you get decades of expertise and with amd you get buncha burger flippers making bios code!
Big streamer have dedicated stream rigs
guys - i'm literally a paid streamer here, you can trust me when I say i've tested this stuff
Small streamers aren't complaint about a small diff in visual
Also you could just get a 7950x and do CPU encode lol
thats very obviously untrue, it supports 4k120 encoding on h264 5 and vp9 as well as av1
and epos showed the quality improvements on h264 and 5
you're not quite getting it - i'm not talking about what it supports or records, i'm talking picture quality when encoded onto twitch
That's literally what he's talking about
epos literally has a video with 40 series and quicksync
where it shows quicksync is better
but very negligibly so
you specifically said this
this is untrue and quite verifiably so
link? guess i havent seen it
you can look up the chipset, it's basically their old chipset but with av1 added in their filings
The real question is
If you run CPU encode on a 7950x3d
On the non x3d ccx
How much does that effect game performance
honestly i would never run cpu or gpu encode
even if it were better quality the gain vs just using a chip in quicksync or nvenc isn't worth
yeah i mean the dedicated encoding chip vs actual cpu encoding
by that definition theres no gpu encode
you are talking about the vpu
Nvec is in die lol
but the vpu is part of the gpu
So is quick sync
we're talking semantics here at this point, but basically i mean I'd never use the actual gpu/cpu setting itself and i'd pick quicksync or nvenc
the gpu is the physical entity, a vpu is just a unit within it
in obs
that implies theres an option to use the gpu without using quicksync or nvenc
there simply isnt
I mean there is a cuda h264
^
nope
thats not gpu encoding
That is still using CPU or gpu
thats not available anywhere any more lel
?
i don't even know why we're getting into a weird semantics debate here when the common line is you'd never really want to use anything besides quicksync or nvenc
It's not semantics you're just flat out wrong in your terminology
my mistake, when you mentioned 'cpu streaming' i thought you meant selecting the cpu setting itself in obs
if you try to encode today with the cuda api, it will use the vpu
to actually force it to use shaders, you need to go waaaaaaay back to ancient cuda versions
which is different from selecting quicksync
they're separate settings when you set up obs
yes but theres no way to use the gpu without using the vpus (quicksync, nvenc, vcn)
cpu ofc
gpu no
why not just build a separate streaming rig?'
it's not worth doing nowadays
complicates your recording/streaming setup when single rig works amazing now
I had one and liked it a lot
you do get lower performance
Most people don't have 7950xs lol
I found the sound tough to figure out though since I had no mixed
it used to be super good, but nowadays it's kind of unneeded since you just set it to nvenc or quicksync and it works amazing
depends on the complexity of your stream
Do you have a second rig so that your stream doesn't go down when your game crashes your PC lol
That's how I always did it
if you're baller setup you'd have a server that would go to waiting screen when you crash
my streaming is mixing generally 5 programs and 3 cameras, so it cant handle encoding as well
I did
otherwise you have like 60 or 90 secs to get stream back up to save it
you mean nginx?
honestly streaming on a whole is way unnecessary to complicate the technical side of things - at end of the day long as you have the basic setup right then content and planning is 99% of it
if you want a dual setup then get dual setup, if you don't then don't
a lot of the streamer friends i know with dual setups kind of ditched them
it just made the entire process of everything messy when they wanted to change things
Zoom zoom
well most people don't even need a dual setup, but if people have disposable income who cares what they do with their money
sure - but what I mean is full time streamers with the income, including myself, have mostly ditched double systems due to them being more annoying to fiddle with than the gain
Most people don't care what the steam looks like at the level between encoding options lol
it's not so much about price or whatever, just that it increases annoying things when you want to change the setup or change things in the setup
biggest reason we use dual pc setup is we arent allowed to get internet access on some of the computers, and the program needs lan access
dual pc prevents problems with networks
we have a far more complex setup than any random twitch streamer will need
oic, but you play WoW though?
indeed I do
ahhh, WoW isn't very competitive though, no?
When I played CSGO. I felt that dual stream setup was smoother then single setup
in what way do you mean competitive?
yeah but in WoW you fight in raids not unless you PvP
wow just doesnt scale with fps tho
you dont have to worry about inching every last fps out of it
maybe in 2008 lmao
nah even now
nowdays its just high apparent load
5800x3d gave huge gains to my wow performance
although your fps will still tank in a major city but not much you can do there
yeah for sure
but its not something that will meaningfully change your gameplay ability
Yeah it dose
if you got locked to 30 fps in csgo at the higher levels, you would get absolutely destroyed
in wow it would just be annoying
why would you lock to 30 fps in cs go
to prove a point
with 30 fps?
sure
i'm confused what we're discussing though
what does this have to do with single streaming rig being the go to?
a single rig for streaming is guaranteed to lower your fps by at least some microscopic amount
30fps is good in some places for wow lol
sure
for a wow player, meh
for a csgo or quake player it can be game ending
but double streaming rig adds a lot of complicity and things that can go wrong or need to be changed/setup
yes
which is why even a lot of competitive fps streamers don't go double
some do for sure, but the majority just go single now
well actually all of them do at least in a tournament setting š
never heard of a tournament with screen recording being run locally
yeah sure, but i mean that's not really the situation we're discussing though right
I found dual setup smoother when playing in CSO and wouldn't get as much rubber banding issues or lag. With 1 pc setup I get lag.
that'd be for sure true awhile ago
single rigs got a lot more powerful in recent days
eh youd be surprised
it was on ryzen 3600x and 1070
well thats pretty weak for streaming lmao
double rigs were still popular then
I just ditched it cuz I didn't want to deal with audio mixing
not rly, csgo is a old ass game
even 5950x solidly loses performance when you stream when playing csgo
like right now I can stream valorant with super high fps at 1440p while recording and still be way above the frames i'd want for competitive
cpu or nvenc same story
5800x3d plus 4070ti already gives me 500-700 fps consistent, then you take a minor hit when you stream but it's still waaay above what you'd need for stable fps
i will bet a copy of titanfall 2 your frametimes are consistently worse than 2ms
probably even 5%s much less 1% or .1%
probably, i'd assume a 10% drop from streaming and recording at same time
i would be shocked if you were getting even 5ms frametimes while streaming and recording on 1 pc
(thats 200 fps btw)
tho i dont have enough money to put down for that
are you saying my frames will drop to 200 or you mean just the ms delay?
i mean the amount of time it takes between your worst frames will be more than 5ms
i haven't measured the net hit to total input lag and such - that would be an interesting thing to check out actually
yeah but i mean the total lag delay everything included
𤷠thats expensiveish to measure
yeah and annoying too, would be interesting to see though
although that all said, even if i were to swap to competitive fps streaming i'd still never go double rig
the headache of managing more stuff isn't worth
𤷠i find it actually easier to manage but you do you
oh for sure, you're probably very tech focused and enjoy that sort of thing though
ahh I have a 5600x and 3070 now, but never stream
physically separating the tasks also separates the software, meaning that theres a clear devide where you can see where the problem is appearing
yeah it was a pain trying to set it up. I can see why people do just single streams
when it comes to streaming the large majority of streamers want everything as basic and easy as possible, so that if they do move or change things up it's super simple to just go live
as always it depends
well yeah, i'm just talking for most streamers, there's always exceptions
tho i can blame most of my issues on amd
why do you refuse to fix usb on x570
gah
if i could use all my usb ports, i wouldnt have a problem
streamer starter pack. sm7b - nano leaf - elgato deck/lights
usually as a streamer you spend so much time worrying about fixing content or planning content that you want as little energy as possible to do tech stuff
𤷠for a 1 person stream sure
and that's coming from someone who is pretty into tech and such - there's a large portion of streamers who don't even know how their computer works
you need a hot tub too
and sure ive never been in a 1 person stream, i only do the tech side of the stream, the content is provided to me and im just in charge of placing the cameras and making sure they work
but that is in fact a workflow that exists
oh for sure, you work in a different environment
you'd be amazed at how many streamers don't even know what the basic specs of their computer are, they just know to hit the right buttons to make stream work
and when im responsible for the stream, i get the people who want to share their screen to give me an hdmi out lel
if their hdmi out doesnt work thats on them
I realized I hadn't updated mine when I said this and I started the update right then
It's still not done
thats embarrassing for sony tbh
do you know Shaun White?
not personally, i've met him in training camps and such but we don't know each other
I never got into snowboarding since I live far away from the mountains, but did do long boarding for a bit.
I remember watching Technine snowboarding videos though. I don't know if they are still around or not

even my ultra cheap micro fpga can run at least 1 risc v core

Is there a way to disable alt+f4 like Razer has many other a "Gaming mode" of sorts
change the keys
I dont wanna
make your own gaming profile
I need to press alt and f4, some times at the same time
But i dont want to close my game
you don't need to close your game to switch profiles
Maybe through the registry you can
I'm sadly not that tech savy
Try to fiddle with keylock I guess then
And i dont want to permanently disable alt+f4 as i use it a lot
I want an easy toggle
At least with the wootility all I can imagine is disabling alt or f4
Ig I'll put it in the suggestions
Thats what I have
I have customized everything to perfection
And i dont want to have 2 identical profiles where in one its disabled
I want everything in 1 profile
Beginning to regret ever considering water cooling: galvanic corrosion, varying metals in components, and difficulty of finding fittings of a certain type and material.
Water cool with liquid mercury
Hah
That is gonna be fun to drain
On a serious note I might look into oil or alcohol
IRC the issue with oil is that it has a lower heat capacity then water, so it it can't absorb as much energy.
What are the advantages of alcohol?
I updated my address and clicked Contact Us, the auto-reply told me to wait 3-5 days.

Noice
Probably behaves better than water, as it is used in fighter jets
Huh
Look I do not know my dad just mentioned that to me yesterday and I am considering my options
The Russians used alcohol as a evaporative coolant
Because it needed no moving parts
It wasn't a closed loop syetem

The water alcohol mix evaporated into the air
Okay that is off the table then
If you're worried just use anitfreeze
You know let me just ask you
Do any of you water loops use all the same metal parts
Or did you throw some antifreeze in
Alright and how long has the oldest one been running without issue?
I see well maybe it might be okay to use an additive to the water then
Antifreeze in cars dosent last forever because of the high heat and any combustion leakage
In a low temp loop, it's last a long long time
My oldest loop is a d5+280 that is in an old lian li case
It went from am2 to am3 without draining
And is still running lol
Hmm that sounds like more than a decade old
I mean am2 was like 2006
But I didn't get one until 2008
And didn't water cool it for a year or so
Still more than that decadeš
I said like 12 years
Well that is impressive
Remember to use deionized or distilled water. Salts in normal tap water tend to be the killer especially in mixed metal loops as that salt conducts a charge
Yeah also funny thing deionized water is not deionized for long
Perhaps, but it really helps to reduce what you start with
That's why antifreeze has anti corrosion additives
You add the additives to the distilled water. All the advice I have received in the past is that starting with super clean water and adding what you need just helps reduce algae and corrosion
I think some people even add something called silver coil
Probably to kill bacteria that could gum shit up, however Silver would increase the risk of galvanic corrosion so best research that first
If only pure silver loops were not expensive
Yeah googled it and if no corrosion inhibitor silver coils will corrode copper, with nickel getting the worst treatment. So buyer beware
Yeah... I think I have nickel plated components so gonna stay away
Have you already purchased all your components?
Skip to 10:18 for a typing demonstration.
As is customary now, we end the year with a very special keyboard; the Optimus Maximus by Artemy Lebedev. This project was a blast to do; I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed making it :) .

ngl that thing looked pretty out there in 2005
Nice, are they now not gonna have AV1 encode in GPUs
nah they will still have them this is just a xilinx product that focuses on it
with AV1 quality as good as Av1 slow it's already better than any gpu for it
that looks like a far too big die to integrate on a gpu tbh
well on a gpu you wont get 32 channels lmao
𤷠actually thats incorrect
nvidia has gpus up to 64 channels, what you wont get is 32 channels at 50 watts
if you take just one encoder block and remove the stuff that would be redundant ona gpu like pcie area it gets closer to what could fit on a gpu
but it's also still 1600⬠so its not just a gpu media engine in big xD
but they need enough blocks to hit 8k60 at least if they use a modern gpu
also likely samsung not tsmc so on a gpu die it would be less area probably
but yeah, it's not coming to gpus in this way
also wouldnt be too sure about that, its probably on a smartphone node, and the ss smartphone nodes are rather dense if low clocking
yeah true forgot they couldnt just match HD/HP libraries for parts of it
if they put it on n3 thats a different story but nah
depends on the good or the bad n3
actually for all we know they could use high density, if they put media engine on separate dies like memory
would be interesting if they went full chiplet
MCDs on a cheap samsung node would make BOM better even if the GCD would be fucked like this gen again lol
oh
imagine the cursed AMD gpu, chiplets made on TSMC, SS and INTC
thats uh the point of chiplet?
ehh, to mix different nodes, I dont think the point is to mix different foundries lol
im suspecting that companies like TI and renesas will start making powerstage on wafer chiplets too
100%
Especially for apus
Think of consoles
backside power delivery, in chip cooling and bigger stacking is all coming within the next prouduct cycles and I'm excited to see what we can get from it
With apu, and CPU,GPU and memory vrm on chip
Or the opposite end of the spectrum
Tesla gpus
Those nvlink/switch modules are like 40% vrm
Sadly but I might need to get different fittings china seller bamboozled me
you got alumium fittings?
i love alumium
Nickel plated brass
whatis wrong with that?
Irc the 3000 series had a Global foundry IO chip
Do not worry Tesla will charge an arm for that
I do find it funny apple gave on air power
They could have compromised just a bit
Just watch, Apple will probably release this soon⢠š
they tried and failed
then swooped any traces of it being mentioned from their online accounts
Lol ok š
there were partially working prototypes floating around
something about packing a ton of copper coils in real tight in a slim enclosure then sending a bunch of current through them doesn't quite work out thermally
People have found a new way to hate the gnome desktop
.-.
They are angry this time because gnome's website shows the dev's pronouns
GnOme Has GoNe woKe
Gnome workflow better....though Plasma apps look like shit on Gnome
I wish they did what plasma does to make GTK apps look native-ish on plasma
Personally imo Gnome is the best looking from a visual only perspective
yeah, is so pretty
it plays for me
What apple wanted was charging three device together as well
which the tesla device does
Oh nice
https://shop.tesla.com/product/wireless-charging-platform
its literally what apple wanted to release but with a different logo
it has 30 coils, so it at a minimum would cost 30x the price of a super basic wireless charger...
Probably because Apple branding too as what i've said before, dislike locking into an ''Ecosystem''
The only ecosystem lock I imagine is the animations and maybe slower charging on non apple devices
Can get much better IEMs/Earbuds for less money too than their offerings e.g.
The reason why most people will not if they have an apple device though is the ecosystem
Fast quick setup and pairings
Yeah just like being flexible
It is a shame they are only white, I would like to see the coating of the airpods after a year or two
Yeah one would have to customize them through e.g. Colorware for another colour or just DIY
Hey guys, i have a problem i have a wooting 60he and recently it started to unshift by itself any suggestion on what i should do?
Right colorware loves apple
Could be ghost inputs, try unplugging the keyboard and plugging it back then
Then see if it comes back after hours of use though
tried it already,
things ive tried is swapping the switches and cleaning the pcb "contact points" unplugged replug it
Making a ticket in #1019755933959733258 is the best then so someone can get to it
alrighty
But it's made by Tesla lol
So snapped hinges, got it.
Yeah was thinking if Apple remade their Air power thing š
you shouldnt buy either regardless?
whats wrong with anker?
same folks, if they are willing to lie and run away from problems in one product, why should we trust them for a different one
great now we have redditors and twitter accounts with more than 0 followers talking how the console ports that need 8gb vram or more are amd sponsored and blame it on amd
good point to just go to bed
after reading some stupid
wtf Elon
Another lawsuit incoming.
From what I understand there's a very strong stink of insider trading.
Or at least a very intentional uhh.. attempt to manipulate values and then trading doge.
if it makes him lose more money I'll be happy
but I dont see the problem unless he is involved in trading before/after this
Mine still shows the bird. So eh... don't notice š
it's something he talked about before he bought twitter and its not like doge came from the coin
also thats a thing for some days now
tweetdeck etc. unchanged though
Lol me too
Anyone have the default windows 11 hosts file and knows how to edit it?
Mines fucked
Computer won't connect to wifi
I was planning on hooking up IP cameras myself with no access to the internet
sure
The default file is just... blank? Outside of a commented field iirc.
Just looked - Yep. It is 100% blank outside of comments.
The default file
Then how do I reset it?
is indeed blank
%WinDir%\System32\Drivers\etc
`# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.
This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
space.
Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
For example:
102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.`
you rest it by just making it an empty file, manualyl replacing it or using w/e the edit option in win11 is for it to set it to nothing
Stop using the folder then
Literally nothing else is open
That is a lie
Something is 100% open and you don't realize
Only file explorer

whaty did you even do
why not just open the host file and delete whats in it
I did and it won't save
is there even anything in the file thats not the comments?
The start menu is broken also
win11 also has the option to edit it directly from the settings menu
yea its not insider, its deleting critical system files in this situation
I reinstalled Windows about a month ago and stayed on stable
Nope
I can do Ctrl alt delete and restart that way
Well you did something
I hate Windows and re install 1-2 years but i dont suffer like this
unless i break something
I tried to edit the hosts file to include the someonewhocares malware and ad blocking hosts file entries
haha
you fucked up
dont touch host files
You are reminding me of when i was little.
use pihole or something
I can't
i guarantee you that its possible
Unless there is someway to make sure the pi will be the first to connect to the hotspot
𤷠run it in a vm on the computer itself
Hhmm
sfc /scannow
What's this
system file checker
Oh
Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them
Nothing got fixed
Reinstall? :/
did you chkdsk?
Unless I can boot to safe mode and edit the file that way
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
No?
What this do??
it looks at a windows install then fixes files that may have been corrupted
online means the currently running os
the other switches are self explanatory
sfc + dism should cover all of the critical windows files
Stuck at 62%
Welp
before you give up, look to see if its doing something in task manager
It's all at 0% with some ram usage
rip in peace
Lana: deletes windows files
Also lana: windows bad, doesn't work
I never said it was bad this time
well now you know to not do that
you probably can overinstall without losing programs or data?
What about safe mode?
actually hmm
etc should only have network garbage
Maybe delete it from there?
yea might as well safe mode it up and try all the commands
no deleting things
bad
thats how you got into this mess
Ok how tf I reboot to safe mode
ctrl alt delete, power button then hold shift while you hit restart
or settings > update and security > recovery > advanced startup > restart now
then navigate the menus to advanced, then boot options?
Updates are underway
Please keep your computer on
oh dear
??
hopefully thats dism fixing things?
windows is very resilient to being messed with until it suddenly isnt lmao
Hmmm?
Yeh :/
It's still on the updates are underway screen
Oh ... And its rebooting
And back on the updates screen again
patience
Windows needs a lot of patience ;_;
you did this to yourself -_-
I know :/
Fuck about, find out
I should just get an AMD GPU and move to Linux fulltime
I just cause windows to break often
Editing the hosts file on that doesn't cause shut to go wrong
I mess with Linux too ...
Even moreso
And that doesn't break like this
It's rebooting again
I think
i somehow doubt it
in fact i very much doubt it
I do...
The only feature I hate with windows is updates, literally the only one
Updates are dread
I use hblock
That directly edits the host file
I mess with swap space and swappiness values
And the fstab file to add automount for my other drives
So uh ...idk what's happening right now
It's not off but there is nothing showing on the monitor
The "input signal not found" thing is up
i will bet a copy of titanfall 2 that you have never tried to delete a part of the kernel
On Linux?
No
my point exactly
Humble bundle throwaway copies
ive never gotten it from humble bundle before
but if i do lose this bet i may
actually im not sure lemme check
can confirm none of my copies of titanfall 2 are from humble bundle
You have more than one?
oh my ive got at least 1140 games from humble bundle
93 unredeemed
O.o
yea ive lost bets a few times
Hhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmm
i bet a copy of titanfall 2 because then at least i know the person gets a good game
if youve played it theres no real point in me giving it to you tho lol
Wtf is titanfall anyways
A really damn good game
Multi-player fps?
Ah.. eh
multiplayer is meh but its my favorite flatscreen singleplayer game of all time
sfc dism chkdsk
Terminal won't open
need cmd
Ok
I launched cmd with the run prompt
run the previous commands again
That order ?
You mentioned earlier do dism last
𤷠chkdsk doesnt run until restart regardless so it doesnt matter
Ooh ok
Dism running
the source file could not be found.
Use the "Source" option to specify the location of the files that are required to restore the feature
right
youll need safe mode with networking
Oh ffs
Oo
Problem solved
:D
Thanks for the help!!
Rebooted just now and it works again
neato
....uninstalls Powertoys
Actually
No
I can't
I use PowerRename often
Idk why the menus stopped working
The start and search menus didn't do anything when opened and search crashed the desktop if I started to type
I doubt that would do anything since I couldn't connect to internet to begin with
Iām being ignored so hard Iām gonna go cope on k drama bye
What are these

Where can i buy stream deck ? (( Except amazon ))
from the Elgato website itself
Or don't
Elgato overprices their shit
" Battlemage cards, built on Intel's Xe2 architecture, will launch in the second half of 2024, with Intel Arc Celestial landing in the second half of 2026. This would put it several months after the launch of most of Nvidia and AMD's best graphics cards of this generation, so Intel is still behind the other two major players in terms of manufacturing cadence. Still, better late than not at all."
I have a problem with this statement, cause not only will they be competing with next-gen cards from both AMD and Nvidia at that point
I genuinely do not believe launching something that is just objectively not good is actually a "better late than not at all"
Sometimes you just cut a loss, realize you can't stand a chance, and leave, which Intel might have to do
Intel's prospect should be low-mid range, where nowadays it's a bit lacking
If they aim high, I doubt it'll be very good. 600$ maximum.
hey peeps, my wife has a samsung s23u and bought an apple dongle to use wired earbuds, but its not playing through the earbuds
this pops up when plugging it in
does the apple dongle just not work on android?
It should afaik
yeah thats what i am reading as well
it seems to not work for some combinations but nothing solid, likely not enough power when some combination of phone and earbuds used
but for some it works for some its just low power
so if it works on a pc for example then its on the phone or earbuds
well if it works on my phone, she can have my pixel dongle.. and ill take this one
Apple dongle is vastly overrated anyways
its cheap :p
it has a bug where it reports that it outputs alot of volume and the android volume limits prevent it from running full blast
its about the price of the cx31993 which is quite significantly more durable
i have 2 dead apple dongs from the cable breaking, and the cx31993 are still fine
could also be different here because eu and and dongles are different
i believe the eu dongles just have their max power cut, which in theory wouldnt change the volume on android?
changes it on everything else tho
but its a difference that for whatever reason could fuck something else up
regardless, dont buy get cx31993 instead
ok, ali has it for less, but ali takes long :p
should be on amazon too?
the fuck is that? :p /s
well get rekt then
brb, getting rekt
Man, I kinda want this mouse
āSimple but not simpler.ā We kept this in mind all the time whenĀ we designedĀ X2 structure. We designed a structure as simpleĀ as possible but maintained its durability. In the result, you areĀ getting high performance gaming mouse that is lighter thanĀ the egg in your hand.
Linus review, the cool design, Frank himself commenting on the design and feel
regardless id recommend ordering another dongle now so that when the apple one breaks you have a backup
It looks identical to my Superlight from Logitech
Custom switches and encoder
and paintjob
yeah thats probably not a bad idea
more importantly, usb c lel
Why is the damn mousepad the same price as the mouse?
I mean... fair. But I actually don't mind it, since it means I can charge my wireless headphones with the cable 99% of the time š
ouch
your wireless buds are micro USB?? š¤¢
Buds? I don't stick anything in my ears. I use proper headphones. š
And yes - They pre-date USB-C being THE standard.
its almost like thats what mansen said lel

true... i missed that
lets take a $5 piece of glass and give it another $5 of treating and sell for $95 to gamers
ikr...
its flexible tho right?
so its actually a $2 peice of rubber imbedded with $2 of glass pellets
is it flexible??
dunno
if its gorilla glass that stuff is actually expensive
it be
corning makes the big bucks
i bet, basically every phone uses it
