Firmware they are pretty good at
Delivering products to customers not so much
Also it was formerly eve
It was eve spectrum haha
But well if anyone here didn’t get theirs delivered I can ask for you, since I still have some contacts there
I wouldn’t recommend it
The monitor is pretty nice, the risk not
Not as nice as qdoled
Also true
That's a wierd 5 fan gpu 🤔 https://videocardz.com/newz/maxsun-unveils-geforce-rtx-4070-ti-mega-gamer-gpu-with-five-fans
MaxSun RTX 40 MGG series: because 5 is better than 3 Chinese MaxSun today announces its new Mega Gamer GPU series. MaxSun RTX 4070 Ti MGG OC, Source: MaxSun/VideoCardz What we are looking at is the first RTX 40 GPU with five fans. Thus far, this record was held by GALAX Serious Gaming series with […]
I did Beta testing of their monitor so had it before I had to pay
you know a feature is a gimmick if they only do it on lower end parts that dont need more airflow
just like weird heatsinks on boards that dont even need one at all to cool down
Ampere is just horrible
3080 was such a nice outlier
I mean msrp wise it was way better than everything around it
yeah wow not hard after the 20 series was a rip off lol
I wonder, is Turing or Ada a bigger rip off
if they take 2 slices and give 1 back that's still -1 to what it was before, not a nice thing lol
turing
Well nowadays they usually keep taking so it’s still better than the norm
But yeah definitely not perfect
no that is the mindset of why they keep getting away with it
just because there is something worse it's not great
wtf
price is nice
Still no 1080p OLED monitors
yeah no point to add expensive tech to a cheap market
1080p is starting to become outdated
Smh oh well
What panel
isnt that an oled?
no lol
Both convo and model
IPS
Also boomer res
Final mouse keyboard Announcements hella quiet rn
was wondering what happened to that wallpaper keyboard

Guess I will wait for 1080p μLED
Could become vaporware😏
Yes
Glorious is the better meme
Is μLED better than OLED? and is there any ''confirmed'' monitors being released with it?
the issue is "waiting for 1080p", dont wait for that resolution at all
No confirmed monitors for a long time
Pricing will probably be a thing too
And yes it would be better higher pixel density and supposedly no burn in
Okay I will wait for 1234p
It is good enough
if its good enough why wait for new high end display tech instead of regular ips xD
Also pretty sure a lot of graphics card still struggle with 1440p right?
Okay maybe not a 3080 and 3090
I see
https://wccftech.com/intel-battlemage-gpu-for-next-gen-arc-to-feature-64-xe2-cores-over-3-ghz-clocks-nvidia-4070-ti-performance/ This would also be interesting if the rumour is true and if pricing would be good
the issue is it comes out barely before blackwell/rdna4 once again lmao
if it can hit its targets
Yeah but if the price is right & if one would get some great value/performance 🤷♂️
Fair enough, guessing everything caught in the last few years. Guess I will wait until Intel actually makes something that can run well at the resolution. But then again 1080p is not even so bad when you are sitting so close
why specifically intel?
yes 1080p is not unusable but for high end display tech it makes no sense
and intel isn't cheaper than an amd option lol
maybe for this gen a little bit
since the pricecut that is
Just want another GPU maker to stir things up for AMD/NVIDIA and actually lower the prices
intel is buying marketshare by force currently lol they are only cheaper than nvidia for now
they cant do that forever with hardware that costs more lol
Well one can hope , One could buy an Gigabyte 6650XT 8GB for 400€ vs Intel A770 16GB for 420€
Gimme 1080p1000hz OLED pls
1000hz yes 1080p no
And even better use a 4k panel running at 1080p
now that we can consider
A la zeisworks
so currently you can pay 20€ more for the same/worse xD great deal
radeon low end this gen is they released it during gpu boom so low end didnt exist and a 6400 was made with dumb specs xd
a770 is like 410mm^2 of silicon a 6650xt is 237mm^2
of roughly the same node lol
oh and higher powerdraw too
so yeah, intel isn't going to be the cheaper option, they already only compete and are bruteforcing that price
Ok, well hope they do better with Next gen 🙂 👍
oh yea for sure, and its nice if they are out earlier with some new features like AV1 this time even if next gen amd/nvidia high end obliterates them
it's just not realistic to expect it to be the cheapest/most value option at a price point for gaming
Perhaps not maybe it was wishful thinking, but it's nice to see that they're trying to get into the market 😀
I mean that was also most aimed at Cruella's comment of why intel as next gen option
Still good for 1080p
never denied that
😏
I've just gotten the wooting actually typing with it atm but my x key isnt working idk why?
replug the keyboard
LOL
how do people know its caused by denuvo
its based on steam comments
Full release = runs like shit
how is that something you can take at face value
what about the case that demo= not full game
so maybe something was missing thats causing it
we just had hogwarts where people say day1 patch made performance worse for some
why would that not be possible to be the case here
man I want to be paid for leading a team and just making articles based on steam comments
https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-quantum-impulse-120-d-rgb-black-400-1800-rpm New fans just dropped
If phones start ditching SIM too, I'll just stick to old phones
Sony phones look attractive with that headphone jack
Oh go away with your apple hate, esim is long overdue
Sure but I want a physical sim so that I don't need working internet to activate my phone
Double down on the iphone hate, let the hate flow through you
hate iphone sure but dont hate on something good just because iphone does it
Yes but iphone is doing it wrong
Maybe, I think they are doing it so providers will make it work so others can do it right in whatever way
We used to be able to pop in sims and ship the phones straight out
Now we need to log the phones onto WiFi, then wipe the phone before we can send it out
There is zero way to activate an esim offline
What I think is the correct way is the Samsung way
It prompts you after you set it up if you want to convert to esim, then it does and it's great
esim is a good thing
you can hop around carriers if you wanted
without needing to waiting a week for a sim card
Should I get 7700x or 5800x3d for a 7900xt? I know that there's no upgrade path for 5800x3d but the price of buying a 7700x and the am5 socket motherboard and the ddr5 memory is a lot higher.
7800X3D is like a week away
What's the expected price for 7800x3d
450
That is not an option then sadly
So like if you were to choose between buying a 7700x and buying a 5800x3d what would you pick
That seems more the price range of Intel tbh
Do you think I should get an Intel cpu with that pricepoint?
near a microcenter?
That's enough for a 13600k ddr4 build almost certainly and depending on budget you may be able to go ddr5
Really wish there was an am5 ddr4 option, you'd save a lot of cash and not lose too much thanks to the cache
I would only get the 7700X if I could get this deal
Sadly no nearest ones at least 500 miles away
Yeah am5 ddr4 would be so nice but sadly not an option
where are you buying your parts?
oh yeah forgot the non-X cpu also exist
I'd suggest those over the X because it doesn't try all it's might to reach 95C stock
No clue on the current meta on 1700 boards but this seems about 7700 ddr5 priced
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/MMbZDq
Part List - Intel Core i5-13600K
if no OCing or min/max, could prob go cheaper on the board
Dyk if that board is future proofed
Oh wow that's a terribly priced board yes oops
Ok that was my next question
It's specifically not
nah 1700 is dead end
But you should be able to get a solid board for $80
unless you find a 13900k afterwards
I just clicked on the most popular
Will non x bottleneck my gpu?
oh yeah where are you buying anyway?
Regardless, there's no such thing as future proofing
If you plan to upgrade, just wait until the part you want is available, otherwise plan to keep the pc for 2 or 3 years, at which point you won't be able to reuse the motherboard
I'll be running a dual monitor setup 7900xt
Any CPU will always bottleneck any GPU depending on the game
I'll be keeping it for a while
Oh then might want to go amd
And you really should go x3d if you are spending that much on a GPU
do you see yourself upgrading the cpu in like 2 years?
Def not
what games anyway and what monitor?
I'm on a tight budget of 1500 and need it fast, old computer is dead.
1080p 280hz 1080p 60hz
What part died?
Probably some aaa games and some esports games
1080p? you can prob buy a lower tier gpu
Also how about not getting a 7900xt ye
and spend more for the 7800X3d
Alot
Won't work it's not out
What do you think I should downgrade to?
6800XT are pretty good value
6900xt is as high as I'd go for 1080p
I'll probably go for 6900xt, should I just go for the 5800x3d then?
13600k or 13700k still imo
7800x3d is gonna be top of the chart here tho when it releases
Alr
And 13900k too cash money for little benefit over 7 and 6

this build but cheaper gpu and no AIO
should be under 1500
Removing ground zone of a pcb always looks cool
1000 GPU
Nice deal
Pick one
Lmao
It’s a nice deal for Nvidia yes. They make a lot of money off it
does anyone here have a good idea how to use wootamation?>
Hi,
I'm trying to figure out how the fn key is toggled so I can attach that press to a foot pedal. But it's not registered as anything. If anyone has the ASCII code or some knowledge for that it would be much appreciated.
I could write a script to force it but is there a more elegant solution to toggle the fn key rather than just using ascii or java and doubling the value whenever I push the pedal and 1 key to give me f1
Interesting
FN is not a key like ctrl or alt, it's a modifier for the keyboard that makes it so the keycode being send is different, the oS doesnt know it so you cant remap it onto another device
you could use something like autohotkey though to emulate it by having it interrupt the input if you press the pedal
I'll give that a try thank you
Can you guess the fps of the 7800x3d in games like Val/Csgo

at 1080p you hit max useful increases on the 5800x3d already with a good gpu
you'd have to get a 360hz 1440p screen to get benefit from a 7800x3d
then turn on a lot of AA too
How about the 500hz alienware?
at 1080p?
Ye
you'd be so far over 500fps all the time
i'm on a 5800x3d with 4070ti and it's already 700 frames if I turn off my aa
that's at 1440p
for valorant it is for sure
but you could be hitting gpu limits too
i had a 5800x3d with 2060super before and it got 300-500 fps, then going to 4070ti gave me another 200 frames
Hmm is a 3080ti fine?
Cool
I just wanted to upgrade my setup for a consistent 360fps
The 5900x don’t do that
you don't get 360+ fps on 5900x and 3080ti on 1080p?
Nope sometimes it drops to 260-350 when util is everywhere
i did see the x3d chips tend to raise minimums a lot, especially at 1080p where you're more cpu limited
And I run a 360hz monitor so yeah upgrades needed
Ye
You shouldn’t overclock a gpu if you want maximum lifespan right?
I mean cpu*

i mean you can but cpus don't really need to be overclocked anymore
they already run pretty boosted, it's not like the older gens where overclocking would give you way more performance
I see people overclocking for that extra 10 fps running games on 4k 120hz
Cpus and gpus overcloud on stock already basically
But a 5800x3d can’t be overlocked anyway because it’s locked due to vcache
I just received my wooting two HE but the space bar doesn't work is this normal?
unplug the cable at the pc and plug it back in
Noice, my ISP chat moved to WhatsApp.
That's great
Lol, not so great is the price increase.

Tech Jesus finally make a rant I can agree with.
Grab a GN 'Debug' Coaster Pack on the Store! GN Large Modmats are al...
Is the rant that no motherboards at a reasonable price have the error code thing in the pic?
Yep.
Amen then
Used to be on low end ones back in my day.
Could you help me out?
I assume its about your ticket, you need to wait a bit more than just 20 minutes, they have stuff to do xD
What about the power and reset button on the board
For amd the cheapest is like the asrock taichi
alright thanks
I need those a lot less than a 7 segment to see what bootcode I am experiencing.
I want them just to run an open air pc
At least those have headers for a quick button. Debug does not.
I only get 4 leds for troubleshooting on my motherboard
Yeah... and those are honestly more often than not actively making things worse, because they often aren't accurate.
no back in the day you could use any PCI diagnostics card for 20bucks and use it on any PCI slot in a mobo
I'm not THAT old!
Built my first PC with my dad around when Halflife 1 was popular. xD
The days of unlocking cheap AMD CPUs and turning them into the top models with... a graphite pencil.

Was it something like turning an 1100Mhz Duron into ... I forgot if it was 1800 or 2100? Athlon. For free.
but those all had PCI slots
wish PCIe kept the standard for such system messages to be posted to all PCIe devices
I mentally connect those diagnostics cards with DOS era machines or older 😄
i used those when i was working my old job
quite often
just sad that newer mobos all dont have standard PCI slots
How long would I have to wait for a response from the #1019755933959733258
dear god you just asked 5 minutes ago
1-3 business days for something like your request. You don't want me to just blindly hit "ship it" on your order. Because if it isn't good, then you're looking at a month or more of waiting for a replacement.
New mobo are all about overkill power delivery and pcie gen X for nvme
None of that helps me, if I am unable to get it to POST because of a RAM issue 😄
If more then 3 business days pass would I result asking you for details?
@reef patrol I'm bloody thankful I at least have LEDs on mine.
Never got that fancy shit on intel I swear.
I have segment and everything.
Just old beeper.
I mean at least there's a beeper - Cause that's more useful than the LEDs.
Disagree
LEDs as in it has a list of them for what's failed
Eh memory issue it lights red on memory
I can put a beeper on mine but I've never used it tbh
I have a few beepers in my mono box I didn't bin because I hate binning stuff and I cba going to recycle.
The other week I had to recycle some AMD3 boards lol
You can disagree all you want, but beeper codes have more detail than the LEDs.
(Not to be confused with the two digit LED code panels)
True, facts are facts.
Can I ask
you can always ask
Is it worth it to sell my 5800x for 180€ and buy a brand new 5800x3d for 320€?
For me?
Do you play unhealthy amounts of Factorio and other single thread heavy games? 😄
OW, CS2, and mmorpgs
yes because it will also smooth out your 1% lows in overwatch and similar
Ok ty
Is 5800x3d beneficial in raids?
Looks like I'm moving ISP
They offered me 500/25 for £39, I may as well take the 6 months free offer to try another that does 500/500 and gives an actual good router and free mesh thing.
A d offers gigabit at an affordable price
hard to say for online content, if its IO limited or not
Ow2 was great for me at 1440p 240hz
Shame the game itself isn't great
Yeah haven't played it in months
Yea OW2 blows
But as I see it, if I'm staying on AM4 for 2-3+ more years 5800x3d might be ok
5800x3d still the most popular in Germany
7800x3d in a week is going to be interesting to see
Yeet
I already dread trying to get one
Definitely going to sell out first week
they sold it at msrp?
7900x3d the 4080 of these cpus?
Can you put 7800x3D on AM4?
no
fuck
oh damn the 7950x3d is not back in stock

thought that would be back already
and its been out of stock for over a week now, really didnt think the 7950x3d would be that high demand
The comparison is that people either want 7950X3D/4090 or 7800X3D/4070ti
Mindfactory has some amazing deals for 7900xt lately
But not the middle child
Sad It dont work for outside germany
7900X3D/4080
too bad the cpu is a waste of money
it does
the xt is a gpu xD
and it got a 100€ msrp cut hence it makes sense now
There was an open box 7900xt for 710
not anymore
germany only for customers for a few years now
no clue
maybe customer support cost was not making it worth
@fickle ore if you want something forwarded hmu ig lol
tnx, will check if the site works
srsly considering it
same price if you add shipping
Nice
cheaper than if you were to forward it anyway
yea
oh
yea nvm
I mean same for nvidia
if the card doesn't have a major flaw it will perform basically the same
I feel like aftermarket cards always been a scam
since this gen at least, before it did make some differences
You get better temps and noise
now its clocked to the wall on stock, it used to be that AiB could add like 10% from OC and cooling
And at most 3% performance
which required 3rd party program and required said program to run in the background lmao
atleast for Nvda
Ye
I remember using MSI afterburner and having to start it every boot, fuck that
Don't really need it anymore
automatic boost wasnt a thing now its stock behaviour
How low can a 4070ti go in terms of power draw with an undervolt?
dont think that has been tested a lot on the lower tier cards yet
It's the only card with about the same power draw as my 2080
RIOT
Would be perfect for the summer
i mean you can also powerlimit it straight up xd
techpowerup or so probably have some power scaling
Alibaba stock 12,3 % on the rise today, nice!
China market bullish
Jack Ma back in China
BotMa!
REVOLUTIONARY
Nice
ah, streaming to youtube
Erryone is
yeah that would have been more interesting tbh
lets hope they can encode it ini realtime 🙂
well its step by step
first they let you deliver av1 to their servers
now they need to process and not just transcode it
oh dam youtube allowing av1 soon? that's major
About time though, been years since first announcement
True
Rather just have RGB

Heck why not have RGB beep error codes
burn
$ 300 motherboards are most of the time absolutely unnecessary
8 layer pcb in the title is also irrelevant lol
Hmm socketable debug header, so kinda what old computers have with those cards you can slot in to get some POST codes
Or basically just replacing the beeper pins with something digital.
X670E taichi is the cheapest with the debug code
499

at least on amd
Oh wait
Since B650E have them
Still 350
Would 6750xt and 5600 be ok for heavy gaming (some triple a and some esports) and some streaming?
1080p
yea
i find this question interesting.. we've been gaming for YEARS at 1080p...
this is all fairly new stuff, yeah it will be
even for 1440p
Had to upgrade my 960 to 6700xt (paired with 5600x) last year cause I swapped to 1440p and even that's been alright for pretty much anything. Not that my standards are particularly high
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07Q7S7247 @pale sigil
The 599s are mediocre are they not?
Afaik they are fine?
Why would I bother now tbh
They are better
But 599 is quite a bit different and some peeps like the 599s more
I have 6xx yes
From what I know the 599s are not worth the price point they are at, Sennheiser themselves sells stuff that is better for the same price
I am scared of IEMs

I don't fuckin like these
Like the audio quality is acceptable
But man are they shallow
If this is the "mini-Blessing2", then I have no interest in IEMs anymore
I'll just stick with headphones and look into the ATH-R70x
That Ukrainian Verum is also cool but the availability is pretty bad
Iems aka my ears in pain
You are wrong on that
But I agree that IEMs are just overrated
Open backs are god for that surround experience and comfort
Man it's almost like not having open back audio is a detriment
Unrelated
My ISP had changed contract terms which legally allows me to end the contract (and others), I've been talking about it and now they are saying they need 30 days notice to remove service.
Bitch I'm asking to end the contract not leave, the 30 days thing is for leaving.
A couple of people say those sound "low res" compared to the 6XX
There is no general consensus on that
Some peeps say 70x has better wow factor and sounds much better
Then you have the typical senny fans
he can they just think he wants to do the normal leave which means 30 day notice but he wants out instantly since they changed the terms
Audio's literally just preference anyways
I wish I could test audio out, but I can't, so I'm just left guessing
yeah
well 30 day means you give notice but are still going to pay for the next cycle and then you are out or similar
Y'all missunderstood
Here you do 12-18 month contracts you can't get out of unless one part breaks it, eg this case price hike gives me the right to end the contract, I want to end the contract right now but you still need to give them 30 days notice to leave their service as they do rolling for none contract connection.
Usually after your initial contract upon joining you just become a rolling customer or pay as you go I guess, but if you want discounts you renew contracts
Which I do every 18 months to avoid paying their shitty prices which of course that's their end point
Ehhhhhhh
I'm already paying £34
:e
They literally messaged me an offer for 500 for £35 before this
What on earth
Never will I ever forget when they charged me this for 200
lolwut
1 month end always here. Unless you sign up for some kind of predatory "first time, one year" kind of deal.
Ye this is what I mean, you can resign up for that sort of thing for a discount
How... weird and predatory 😄
US ISPs be like
At least with the big bois
Sadly I think a lot of areas is either Comcast or at&t sometimes even you can only choose one
Just get your entire neighborhood to buy up your own dedicated fiber connection

Ez 10 gigabit
That would be nice but I doubt anybody would be willing to do that any time soon lol considering the economy
If only the US government wasn't so damn slow when dealing with literally every single issue in existence
If anything states could handle it themselves

Crazy seeing 4tb SSDs for around 200 now
real ones or qlc ones?
Most likely qlc
qlc?

Quad level cell nand
Ah
My 3gig is 250+ tax
The higher you go the less edurance and more error prone you get
I think they will force me up to 300 for 5gig this year
Damn
Gotta twist my arm XD
This is community owned fiber?
99% of the rest of the county don't get that
Just not the most customers
More than you think
They ditn advertise it anywhere
oh appears to be TLC
You have to call a.speical number and ask
Ooo
not too shabby then
Yeah
It was 2g for 250
Then like 2 years ago they bumbed me to 3g with new hardware
But didn't get rid of the promo price
I think with 5g they will force me to goto 300
At least
One day I will build an all ssd nas for not stupid account of money
I think the normal price is 350 for new
Yeah
👀
god I wish I could get more than 1gig, if only they could hurry up with the next DOCSIS spec upgrade
That's between their cost of like 3200 ish and my costs to go from street to house
They troe in a free cable connection for me XD
The firber got cut
lol
And took like 20 something days
What websites/ download servers even support more than 1 gig downloads?
Other than torrents obviously
So they gave me a modem and service
And never cancels it
Steam
Youtube
Gmail/drive
Usenet
docsis 3.1 can do 10gig down and they have articles about it since 2021 but still cant get it and they now talk about docis 4.0 zzzz
I mean I have in think 1200
But it burst close to 2g
But the fiber is solid
Like steam will do ~2.8 gbps easy
It actually needs a good nvme to do sustained
Would it even be worth to try and sell a gtx 970 at this point?
for cheap to some local hardware shop perhaps
I don't like Win10
I wish Win7 was supported for longer
7 was just the right amount of old style minimalistic
Personally windows 11 shouldn't exist
Windows 11 was doing something to drain my laptop battery really hard when I first got it. Plop windows 10 on it and it's been smooth ever since
and also not spyware XD
Windows 11 while it does look aestheticly more pleasing, it really shouldn't have been a new version of windows
I am honestly never using Win11 in its official form
Yea same
Windows 12 already on its way
Either Linux or the community win11 editions
Wtf?
Source?
Win11 isn't even "out"
It's like a beta
Hopefully they don't do a double bad
The next version of Windows will focus on AI features.
Rumor
But interesting that intel is involved
I just how valve perfect steamOS by then
Is Win11 some sort of intermediary release from them?
Did they even start selling the physical editions of Win11?
Has to since windows 10 is not officially sold my Microsoft anymore
Only leftover copies left
Did you try to find a iso anywhere
I'll have to check honestly since I don't even remember seeing Win10 physical editions for the longest of time
Tbf I don't go outside so whatever
They exist usually sold at bestbuy
That's the only place I've seen them being sold at
Oh it's a thing
110 euros 🤢
I'd rather just crack it
I am genuinely in a way concerned that Microsoft genuinely borderline doesn't care for Windows piracy
Once windows 10 stops getting updates in 2025 I'm just going to vm everything through Linux
win11 definitely is out
The tools that just crack the system via CMD have never been really patched
Feels like a beta state
SteamOS 3.0 plzzz
Try Superlight edition
Debloated windows
you ending your relationship with your mom?
Back to windows 7 era of performance
Yea I saw that but I still don't like window's 11 other quirks
Especially the start menu
Win11 superlight actually feels more akin to 10
I wish
The shit bloat is gone and it's less cluttered with shit you don't need
well youd be surprised
Only the android apps interests me on w11
Eh it depends
Wouldn't you just emulate that anyways
win10 and win11 are both windows 10.X builds
But is it really though
Win11 was rumoured to be a complete rewrite of the kernel and stuff
I don't really care what it is in reality, but it seems a lot bigger than it seems
then just use linux ngl
ngl if w10 loses support i will use linux 💀
A system that can't figure out that can be usable cause everything needs hours of tinkering to work properly
I had enough of Linux Mint
Maybe some other distros are better
Bluestack and the likes are pretty sluggish
But Mint genuinely pissed me off
i would use artix linux ngl
I'll just stick to debloated windows for now
That's why I plan to run vms, I can isolate many different systems based on use case
If those stop getting updates or get taken down via DMCA or so
Linux is genuinely a last case scenario
Personally I like Fedora
Wtf is lana's handle now
@lana avanna
Wait
Lana's gone
Interesting developments
I was meaning to say anyways, Lana's sold me on Arch Linux
So maybe that is not as crap at Mint at working properly
Who knows, @crisp granite
You should know wtf happens in the hideout where Lana always had their breakdowns
@pale sigilHey wtf have you done to your basement prisoner
She got annoyed with people getting annoyed with her here
Everyone
Tbf they just need to come to the conclusion that they need to chill
Or embrace the weirdo and just piss everyone off on purpose
I chose the 2nd, worked so far
how the sounds were recorded
Quality of mix or the "kbps"
kbps would be compression yes?
cause the kbps don't mean shit
me?
24-bit 192kHz sound is virtually indistinguishable for most from shit like FLAC
If that's what's meant by that, then it's bs
If it's just quality of the mix, then sure
Though the lower you go down that list the shittier it gets
Like some of those things are controversial to this day cause peeps either swear by it, or just dismiss it
Like "burn-in"
Or "cables"
Unit variation shouldn't make a bigger difference than a fuckin amp
Like listen on tubes vs solid state amps on a dozen headphones of the same type, 100% you will just hear the damn tubes
The mastering
I want to try an R2R dac to see if it is bullshit or not
Shame most discrete designs are 700+ usd
that sounds weirdly trebly for a kexp mix
What the fuck am I reading https://learn.applemusic.apple/apple-music-classical
192kHz/24-bit Hi-Res Lossless.
got better after singing started, but there's some hiss yeah
but anyway this sounds pretty cool
and of course they're australian
kek
I've probably claimed this earlier but most good contemporary acts come from aus
I have a few of their songs on my library
personally I think it all makes sense
nothing really stands out to me as being incorrect
We established that
sorry then didn't see the message
only saw the large rant about 192khz
although sources should be above file formats
most of the people I've had try out sources could tell a difference, at least when it comes to a normal consumer source like a phone and a dongle or amp
That's why I want to try a true R2R dac or one of those crazy discrete class A amp design.
Just buy the HE-1 pog
Has any fighting game player tested the wooting/can vouch for it's efficiency compared to regular switches? I would test it but im currently unable to have access to a computer, would love look more into it, it could potentially change the FGC if it has the same impact as it does on FPS.
IRC Metallica's mastering for a good time was completely shit, to the point that a lot of music that should've been well received was rejected due to poor mastering making it painful to listen to (lots of clipping).
The best version of one of their albums is one ripped from Guitar Hero, because for some reason Guitar Hero got a near raw copy of the music prior to production butchering it. So Metallica fans will tell you to download this pirated album
death magnetic
interesting benchmark
yeah the results ltt got were once again really weird and unlike any other outlet basically
even on the non broken cpu
Pbo did worst?
And the 13900k oc did worst
How did a oc make it worst lmao
In both tests
Yes
All of the ocs did worst
Something is wrong with their bench
eh guess that is margin of error
Flac threads well
5.6 all core should be faster
Yeah but it's raw pcm so flac splits the file up and transcodes sections
threading well still has to compete with 200mhz on ST
and if its not that long you dont get too much from MT
Yeah but the other cores will be way lower without tweaking if one is boosting to 5.8
Last I checked a ""stock"" setup 13900k barely will 5ghz on the other cores if it's boosting one core to 5.8
With really good cooling
Lmao
If they have the ks running 6ghz on single core how
And the 700 at 5.5 beats the 900 at 5.6?
Something is wrong with their CPU testing
IRC the KS is hitting thermal limits hard even with some of the best coolers out there. Really in order to get this thing to reach advertised performance direct die cooling is required
Then that's an error in their testing
If the CPU can't run at a clock then the oc isn't stable
yes but if it hits thermal it wouldnt reach 6 on main so that isn't really what would happen here
Looking at the config: "Two cores at 6 GHz, 5.7 GHz all-p-core, 4.4 GHz e-core, 1.29V vCore, DDR5-6800 XMP 3.0"
My guess is that normal behaviour is all cores try to hit 6GHz, and thus thermally saturate the cooler. I am unsure of what this CPU's normal boost behaviour is
if the hit tjmax then its not at the clocks they show so that doesnt add up either
and stock is 5.8 not 6
or 5.7 5.8 with TVB only
The KS goes to 6 with TVB
the K not though so a ks at 6 giving less doesnt add up
since we dont see the regular KS clocks on that chart just the locked once
Look
K and ks stock are there
no I mean we dont see the clocks of those stock results, aka if they are thermal limited perhaps but we know a KS at 6 should in no way be behind a regular K
so something is wrong
Even when "locked" doesn't Intel still thermally throttle for safety?
Also keep in mind that only 2 cores of the KS are locked to 6, the rest are running at 5.7 to try and ease those cores
Well the performance cores at least, the E cores are of course way lower since they aren't meant to run high. Maybe the regular K's E cores are the answer?
if it thermal limits then it shouldn't be lower than one that doesnt even clock high enough to be limited
also then they test wrong because it shouldnt throttle if you want to test at those clocks since you then dont test at those clocks
amd actually selling more cards than nvidia at mindfactory
That doesn’t seem right unless the 4090 was out of stock or something
It's probably due to the 850€ 7900 xt and mega discounts on Mindfactory
NV hasnt been discounted in EU like AMD's
I think something like that was talked about in that r/hardware thread
Maybe, gpu-z still has seen more 4090 models than all other current gen models from both combined
maybe that is just a LOT of early sales?
also the overlapping demographic for 4090 users and people that install gpu-z might be larger than people that bought a gpu in gneeral in a similar timeperiod and installed gpu-z
4090 production got reduced a lot by nvidia
to forcibly keep their 4080/4090 prices up
no lol
GPU-Z numbers as of March 21st, 2023 / 1:00AM EST
7900 XT: 45302
7900 XTX: 998074060 Ti: 105
4070: 280
4070 Ti: 160227
4080: 214954
4090: 652525A310: 434
A380: 16649
A580: 145
A750: 15102
A770: 35143
yes it has a bias that pre builts arent included and those might have more lower tier cards
of course people with 4090 are more likely to test it using gpu z
you underestimate the amount of people who just buy the best and the people that tinker with hardware on lower end to oc and get more perf/$
how so?
4090s still sell, no one is saying it's not
sold numbers however are manipulated by production numbers where nvidia pushes people towards the card they want
they constrained 4090 production for awhile to push 4080 sales
how is 4090 production constrained when it's in stock almost every day
it is now, but for awhile it wasn't and it was tricky to get 4090s in certain places
where is the info from that the 4090 was getting lowered production
they were some leaks awhile ago
i'm not sure if they raised production back up or not now, but 4090 was constrained for awhile
who brought the leaks though
would have to look it up
i'm still not sure what's being debated though
retail sales are just that, retail sales
and gpuz testing numbers are never going to be an accurate representation of retail sales
ofc not but its the best tool we have for numbers and you brought up they limited 4090 production to sell 4080s so I'm curious where that is from
whats a better one?
it's like sampling a reddit tech community and asking if they prefer apple or windows
it's going to naturally be extremely biased towards the crowd you sample
i mean couldn't we just look at the actual retail sales and or nvidia quarterly statements
they're a public company so they have to release a lot of the info
yeah but not exact sales numbers lol
i mean even if we want to take the gpuz stats alone, they're so warped already as is
and gpuz has a sample size of a million in that list, the mindfactory list is not even 4k sales
unless we're to believe there are that many more 4090s sold than everything else
which is absolutely not true
why not
because it's never been that way for any graphics card ever?
the top end graphics card is never the most sold
and gpuz stat is so insanely in favor of that being the case by such a gigantic magnitude that it doesn't seem like it's accurate unless 4090 has broken the trend of every gpu series ever released up until now
on the steam survey the 4090 has 0.3% the 70ti has 0.15%
sure, i could see that being true
it has a lot more sales than any other 40 card on steam so that adds up
4070ti hasn't been out as long
so it would make sense that 4090 was higher on steam survey
799
weekly sales is not the same as year to date sales of a card
Ouch
if anything the fact that the steam survey was what february? meaning in the one month of sales there were already half as many 4070ti as 4090s
so it means over that period of time it's likely that 4070tis out sold 4090s
Hot damn the 4070ti is underwelming.
yeah the entire 4000 series is horribly priced but nvidia know they can get away with it so far
it's a pity because the actual series is great performance wise. solid performance jump without being as crazy hot as the 3000 series, but all of it prices a couple hundred more than it would be pre covid
oh steam actually tells us the percentage change from last survey - there you go, an easy way to have accurate-ish look at cards used
0.18% increase jan > feb for 4070ti, 0.07% increase for 4090 jan > feb
Nice, so im changing ISP and they are giving me 6 months completely free 😄
Then i contract with them if i choose to stay.
Its a UK scheme atm to replace all copper and switch people to proper fibre networks.
Good luck with the transitional period 😄
wdym? im timing it so ill have two connections at once pretty much.
Getting it 2 weeks before my current internet goes.
Oh that's nice - Here you often go internet less for up to two weeks xD
I mean you could here tbf but im timing it so i dont haha
But worst case i use my phone....
just no downloading porn games for me.
Its nice, ive been waiting a long time for proper fibre....
Sick of having decent download but horrible upload and the price is more reasonable.
Its 35 quid for 500 up and down.... current its 48 quid for 330 down and 20 up ..... or 40 if i resign a contract
But i also want to get Gigabit possibly.
Who are these tools
Even the opening statement doesn't make any sense "profound risks to society and humanity"
Like.. advancing the human species?
Lol what
Stability AI's CEO signed this?
Why tf did Musk also sign it if he's related to OpenAI
Anyone got any suggestion for wireless headpones that are not to big or expensive?
price range 80 sterling poudies max
I have wireless in-ears I have been rocking for a few years now and the sound quality is like higher end IEMs
Well there's not much that is good in that price range
In-ears there are
I don't know any headphones that are wireless
Like the only thing that comes to mind is the Deva
Yea I mean headphones
i dont want mega super nice audio for outside
But that's above 100
just some that are alright really
Do you mind doing mods
Yeah I can't really see anything good
Just get the soundcore and put a wavelet autoeq on them tbh
im just sick of getting either good in ears that hurt or ones that die and replacing them.
I used headphones a lot at UNI, my old ATH-M50xs
Have you've ever tried actual good iems before? Like something from moondrop or another good iem maker
My fave pairs were Soundmagic ones, on the higher end.
But i tried a few last year yes, ones suggested from audiophile reddit
and Ares
Because honestly, the only times I've ever had discomfort was when using cheap consumer stuff, audiophile stuff I've never really had issues with
My ears are shit
Or well the inner
and also another issue is i have severe wax problems
So they get blocked A LOT, even if i clean my ears.
Have you've tried different tips, like spring tips or spinfits or foam tips
Generally the people with more wet and liquidy earwax will clog filters more easily especially in humid weather, there are tips that have a filter built in to prevent you from having to replace the iem filters too often
Another thing to note is;
- I dont like seals, eg earplugs
- My ears pop a lot with them it hurts
- I get ear ache quickly
- Even the smallest tips struggle to stay in
Lol i have pics that would prob make you gag
Showing my wax issues
"foam tips"
Oh god no
Some of the worst things I have ever wore
Yes but there is a market for a reason lol
I've seen worse, you haven't seen anything until you put in er2s after not wearing them for months
Yea that's nothing
RIP JOLED is kill
i cant really find my worse pics
sadly
but every single time i had to clean them out
it was tedious af
If you need to clean your ears get a pipette and fill it with hydrogen peroxide and let it sit in your ears for a bit
Wash your ears out in the shower
Those are the main methods
I know the pain - Got them strong af sweat/earwax genes. I genuinely have two sprays I have to use to keep mine in check. One loosens it as a general maintenance thing, the other is something I spray in, pad with water resistant cotton padding (basically plugging it in) and leaving for half an hour for more emergency use.
Yes I have had to visit a doctor for a high powered rinse a couple of times when I accidentally pushed it in, instead of getting it out. Not fun to be partially deaf due to earwax on one ear for up to a week.
Reuse, not just replace.
Or just 3d print your own
Yes that would be doable if one is available 👀
Don't know any local place though but could check it out or just buy one 😅
Ye and sometimes I just can't be assed cleaning over and over
It sucks
Thankfully the stuff I have does most of the work. Just gotta remember to spray - And then rinse ears with my shower head at high power when I shower 😄
Dislike in-ears because of that ear wax but yeah maintenance is key 😅
Just buy an ear spoon
Easy ear maintenance
I used to have terrible clogs, then I found out that those exist
Been clog free for years
Risk free as well as long as you aren't, you know, stoopid
Yeah don't want to puncture eardrums 🙉
q-tips are the worst culprit of clogs and puncturements
It's such a bad design that idk why it's still in use
They make cleaning keyboards a breeze though 😄
