if i wanna fly closest ill get is pulling the safety pins on the eject and eject myself into the ceiling of the hangar
structural repair
Oh cool
aircraft structural maintenance
f16 and the other i cant say :P
anyways back to tech talk is the HYTE Y60 case good?
flight sim or war thunder
nice
Bc it's different to actually being in the cockpit
i wouldnt know
And also that's using my keyboard and an xbox controller
So much less fine control over the aircraft - makes carrier landings painfully hard because it becomes really hard to make minor adjustments when using throttle to pitch
Easy solution
Get a HOTAS
Attach hotas looking joystick to keyboard
Wooting keyboard got the analog outputsš
Meaning?
3d printed hotas accessory+keyboard+API = aircraft flight controls
Bootleg yoke and hotas
No idea what that is
That yokes or joysticks normally act on and registers the input
Potentiometer?
Yes
Yes but does the keyboard have those?
Though I will say some models use hall effect potentiometers on the higher end
No too weird
Then how are you strapping a bootleg yoke to the wooteng?
Well with springs I guess
In the parts
Since the switches have barely any resistance
What I mean
Oh
Nevermind
Lemme find a dumb picture hold on
Is how are you interfacing with the keyboard
To allow it to act like a yoke
Or a joystick
Ohhh
Btw
Does the Wooteng 2 HE have windows keys?
Or whatever they are called universally
Command keys I think (although that might be an Apple specific thing)
Anyway ty for your help @empty wren - much appreciated
Perfect
But going to go to bed tonight since I need to be up again in 5 hours
Gn :)
You can remove em if you do not want them as well in the remap section in the wootility and good nivht
Ty
Oh and last thing
Is there any specific difference other than preference between ABS and PBT for the keycaps?
Well sound can be slightly different
Color choice more available with abs
And time to shine from oil on keycaps
Abs can shine in under a year
Thanks to Bambu Lab for sponsoring this video! Check out their P1P printer at https://lmg.gg/p1p
3D printing can seem complicated, but Bambu Lab's new P1P printer seems to take the extra frills and complications out of the P1P while keeping the raw power needed to get work done. Dan is here to take a look at the P1P to see if it lives up to the...
Well this will probably become more popular
before clicking on it
you should know that LTT is quite familiar with the plattform already
since they already have a bunch of X1 carbons
not to say that either one is a bad printer
but the pricing is kinda weird
I feel like the magnetic actuation of the wooting really lends itself to wireless technology (not Bluetooth, but superfast similar to wireless gaming mice). Wooting could really shake up the market by making a wireless board with wireless charging (qi), but perhaps the compromises are too much.
It would be nice for keyboard wireless to catch up to the 1ms latency weāve been enjoying with mice for awhile now
but
it has 1ms latency
and speed wise its 9.53nanoseconds for a 2 meter copper wire and 6.6nanoseconds for wireless
so 0.00000000953 seconds vs 0.0000000066 seconds
compared to the 0.001 seconds (thats 1ms)
It has?
Like
If you buy a modern gaming keyboard it uses the same wireless protocols as modern gaming mice
There just is less of a reason for wireless keyboards
Yeah the reason is because you have to charge them frequently, usually using a wire (which doesnāt eliminate a wire from your desk)
Thatās why I think qi charging directly though the case would be a sweet trend
Also am I missing something? All the videos Iāve seen of the wooting never mentioned wireless. I thought it was a wired board
Mine is still shipping which is why I donāt know š¦
I guess for mice removing a wire actually serves the purpose of making it more functional, where as doing that for keyboards is purely aesthetic⦠so I see your point and understand why that trend hasnāt caught on
its wired
also removing the wire for mice is about movement freedom mainly
Now Iām curious about dongle and custom battery solutions⦠Is there a dongle out there that could work with the wooting (and retain near-original latency and no data loss) if I manually soldered a battery on it? Could be a fun project and I could post my results in the modding group
probably
I think we had one guy asking about some weird japanese dongle with battery that didn't work out months ago?
sub 1ms will be hard cause the keyboard is basically exactly 1ms
Noted I will rephrase my post to āretaining near-original latencyā
I think I remember seeing a LTT video about modding in wireless charging to a wireless keyboard too. Their proof of concept actually kindve worked iirc
well we arent wireless though. so youd either make everything use the usb-c or you solder on the pcb which will definitely void the warranty
Heh. Every voided warranty is a modderās badge of honor
yes
Just since I use my function keys quite a lot
Oh sweet
Also have there been any updates on the EU-Dop batch
Mnope.
Since I'm not seeing any in the discord
Ah ok
Just wanted to check again seeing as you were around
Updates don't generally happen till about a month or so before expected shipping, once production begins.
Ok
And shipping is when it's shipped to me?
Just because I'm just interested in roughly when in April i would get mine if I ordered it
Shipping is when it leaves our warehouse.
Delivery is your doorstep.
Ty
Mine would most likely be DHL or DPD
Considering the UK isn't in the EU anymore so also UPS - Express Saver
Mhmm
Isnāt the system choosing the optimal freight company?
Don't know what gave you that impression. But no - That is up to the customer.
Interesting that i didnāt get those options. I live in Sweden and chose air freight. I somehow have DPD as deliverer. I donāt remember that i chose it
Your options are based on location.
aussie we have 3 options depends on location
oh so DPD is actually a service?
š someone not long ago said it was short deutsche post department..
DPD is a different company than Deutsche Post
What Nvidia GPU is an AMD 6800x roughly equal to?
6800XT?
About 3080-3080Ti levels
There is no such card, Lana
However I'm sort of done with AMD, since I've been getting into the more less optimized parts of the PC world
And that part just does not like AMD at all
Nvidia's just got so much more stability and feature creep over AMD
Nvidia cards are still superior.
Nah
In terms of what
AMD cards might as well be faster than Nvidia's if AMD wants them to be
It's just that Nvidia's drivers and features are getting more and more unavoidable for me, while AMD remains unoptimized
Engineering of their silicon, manufacturing process, optimization, drivers, etc.
Manufacturing process... that's not Nvidia mate
AMD and Nvidia both manufacture in TSMC now
Their quality control is way different though
both not super stable
Apple iGPUs?
Nvidia isn't some godsend with failure-proof drivers I'm very aware
No, but certainly better than AMD
But the sheer fact that CUDA is a must with some softwares, it's pretty sad
How is amds Engineering worse when they have chiplet gpus now before Nvidia does lol
Hey hey, mention that again when they use more than 1 graphics die with that chiplet gpu
Reliability. Albeit Nvidia isnt perfect either
What reliability issue is coming from their engineering?
Reliability has got nothing to really do with hardware, just software part is where most gripes are
Could be anything tbh
Ok so you are just randomly speculating
Truth be told that whole myth of bad AMD drivers is getting out of hand
They were pretty bad but they are solid rn
Theyāre just ok.
I had issues with them on both pc and Mac alike.
I still hate the fact that I have a piece of software that I have to force use DXVK to work with AMD, or it crashes
right now yes, until they fuck up with the next generation
As for manufacturing process, they currently use the same one in both amd and Nvidia gpus lol
it isn't that amd never gets it right with the drivers, it is that they don't tend to consistently do so
Maybe if AMD got their RTG size on par with Nvidia's they could compete properly
That is fair to have the expectation based on past events, but you have to include that currently they have no big issue there
Gotta give them a chance to be consistent at least when they are doing good
Also if we look only at process nodes then last gen Nvidia was way behind amd so that just makes no sense
With ABS and PBT key caps
Can I buy the keyboard and then replace the key caps with PBT later if/when they begin to shine too much?
Yes
Cool
Oh and speaking of nvidias drivers being better https://twitter.com/videocardz/status/1632692200835366912?s=46&t=bWeQPW8r81zemPS98h41FA
NVIDIA acknowledges 10%+ CPU usage driver bug after exiting games
https://t.co/d7KElEh7Tm
Since idk how I'm going to convince my parents that "Hey, can I spend another £18 on top of the £188 for the keyboard to get better key caps?"
Then don't for the time being. See if you like how it feels and then revisit the topic months later as an upgrade for your awesome obard.
Yes, the wooting keyboard keycaps can be removed very easily. Very nice when they need their washing done
Can even do it by hand but keycap extractor is a better idea, however
How many of these is just cause Windows is shite
See this is why I use google coral FPGAs so I can program my own silicon and write my own drivers.
Reverting drivers fixes it so itās likely not windows related
Drivers are truly on the manufacturer
Windows can only start them up and monitor if they are still responding. In terms of managing drivers
Or an Intel HPE R0X82A
They work so well though, you just need to know how to use em.
Bought them used for about 6k usd a piece
They usually retail for 16k usd
I know, but the software..... and documentation Altera has is beyond bad
Xilinx is pretty nice
Yes,
Literally, when I try to install the software for Altera my laptop blue screened
It was a warning sign
Software would also completely crash if you changed some setting and used the window close button instead of their custom button that closed that window

Lol
Buy a google coral instead
Theyāre a lot nicer
And theyāre super common amongst beginners
Used one of those for my education
In my school we used google coral
And later in the year we moved onto AMD Xilinx Vertex.
I forgot what Vertex FPGA specifically
I wanted to try fpga but rn kinda like feature full mcus more
Just switched from samd21 to stm32h747
You have FPGAs with a "hardcore" on the chip
If you want to try one without spending too much, get a google coral.
I do ll register programming but fossar are a bit too complex for me rn, and donāt know what all would I do with them tbh
Last time I checked their usb accelerator FPGA is like 50 usd
I mean true, but not with a 16 bit 4msps adc
*60 usd
Arduino has a board with samd21 and fpga on board which looks quite interesting as I am used to samd21 programming
I see
But well rn have to figure out why is dual mode not working on stm32h747
Did something wrong with setup but what no idea
Well the adc registers of this mcu already were two days of fun so far
I sure like them, and I make use out of them too!
Albeit theyāre a pain sometimes.
3500 page long register manual
And debugging is a nightmare
These registers are too
Oof
Oh ofc
Sanity
Lol yeah
This one got you covered
Just ehh..
Dont look at the price
The Intel one I mentioned costed a little more
But I got āem used
Oh thatās fine then, ordering rn /s
just buy a gsync ultimate monitor for a cheap FPGA
Well you can get a 40⬠fpga
These things seem pretty poggers
Lmao, but thereās almost no way to interface with it without doing some heavy modifications.
Max clock speed achieved, not fast enough, then what?
Get two clocks
Double data rate CPUs and GPUs anyone?
I NEED ONE!!!!
intel/nvidia moment
oh also speaking about amd drivers
Better not use āFactory Resetā Settings in Adrenalin Software PCWorld has an article that covers a bug in the Radeon drivers that may ultimately break the installation of the operating system. Users have been reporting on this issue for over a month now, but AMD never acknowledged that such a problem exists. Furthermore, the vast [ā¦]
now the funny thing is
it's not even amds fault but its read as if amd had a bug that caused it
windows update was not reading the installed driver correctly and breaking it if updates happend
so on amds side we have a windows update causing issue that gets put on amd, on nvidia we have a driver causing issues and people wonder if its windows fault
shows the mindset people have despite it being quite outdated for either brand xD
THen why is the headline saying AMD ADmits a bug in their driver caused it?
AMD really doesnt need any more bad rep LOL
.-.
now nvidia still has the better software and all for the most part
but not as big of a gap as most people make it out to be
Fam where do you get these memes lol
I had windows try to install Nvidia drivers for me.
I'm using Radeon
gg windows
meanwhile nvidia https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-acknowledges-10-cpu-usage-driver-bug-after-exiting-games

yup thats what I linked earlier and meant with people think it could be windows instead of nvidia xd
I mean they supply a LOT of AI hardware
Nvidias CUDA is basically the only solution for AI stuff
Because opencl sucks lol
HIP
Also I'm pretty sure they announced that chatgpt uses like 5000 teslas
they recently reduced the computation required for chatgpt iirc
well the training on chatgp was done on volta cards lol
so yes lots of lowering possible with current hardware
My bad 30,000 of them
The crazy thing that interests me is that their speech to text model is like half the cost of googles which is wild imo
what
why
Training ai is hard
Better training better ai
And they are constantly improving
the big secret behind chatgpt is the massive dataset
With these AI Models they usually run it all on the GPU too and even the open source implementations will use 8gb+ of VRAM just to load an instance so presumably they run a ton of instances at much higher vram to handle all the loads.
But I could be talking out my ass
training that takes a long time since those gpus are working well for it, but are still gpgpus not pure ai training chips
and inference then uses less but other hardware
I don't even want think about how much computing power midjourney and such have spent š
yeah should've mined crypto instead, does so much more for the world
https://twitter.com/EMostaque/status/1563870674111832066 Stable Diffusion for reference
@KennethCassel We actually used 256 A100s for this per the model card, 150k hours in total so at market price $600k
1051
112
Pfft thing about dlss
oh wait

I was still confused about the "chatgpt uses x amount of teslas"
you mean nvidia tesla gpus
not tesla cars

Lmao
Yes
But Nvidias data set for dlss is likely the largest by far
But it was 100Ā© automated
They just had games run at multiple resolutions and compared
To further add to confusion. Teslas actually use Nvidias iirc.
I remember when I looked into portable cuda enabled hardware solutions there was mentions about Teslas using a form of the Jetson systems.
Nvidia has the input and output, so the model just needs to do the intermediate spaghettification
I thought they moved away from Nvidia?
You're correct yeah. I must have looked around or before the changeover in 2018?
Damn time flies
Nvidia still is in the AI car market it seems
I don't have my glasses on so I'm going to assume that's a 5800x3d
yesss
Good good
So where will the vita go in the pc case
Also good power supply, no coil whine
Still performs worse than an arctic lf ii, esp on amd
Which is also cheaper and has longer warranty
What GPU you gonna use? š
Wait. Trident royal ram šš the rig was looking decent a minute ago
You take that back right now, Mr. turtle.
I shan't. TridentZ royals are some of the worst-looking decent kits of ram available.
Silver non-elite with a non-diamond-esque diffuser would look ok but the diffuser is
I love how fancy and clean the NZXT boxes are and then there is the CoolerMaster box slightly battered and dented
yeh, cause they get paid on their number of deliveries so they gotta go fast af ;-;
no time to walk in and gently place it on the ground
Are the Nzxt motherboards even good?
I can't trust Nzxt after how much pain they've given me
Phantom gaming iirc
Is it ASRock now?
always was
Could be wrong, I'd struggle to care less about nzxt mobos
No - They were definitely ECS
Never even heard of that company. Guess I'm a baby
Yeah seems that way
Also the worst bit is
NZXT doesn't really update firmware (at least not with any modicum of urgency)
So they're worse than the original asrocks!
When Samsung said they are providing 4 years of Android updates, does that only apply to their flagships? or can you buy a new A series device and get that many updates also?
oooohh
And probably newer ones
yeh
Kinda crazy really
Especially considering Samsung used to have a bloated os and now runs fine
still bloated
Meanwhile google has quite a bit bugs
comes with 3 app suites
And only 3 years
Well we should be happy that we can
true
adb technically runs with root perms
Well you can at least disable it then
o
Not a big thing on Android ice cream sandwich
could still remove it with ADB most likely
Well sure
Man I remember the old days
Could use an app for that
Probably not true anymore
my first Android version was 4 :')
Everything is so tightly locked I cannot even tamper with some parts of the os cuz even with root cannot see it on most file managers
And even then changing permissions to rw becomes difficult
Same
I used to have a copycat s3
But then I deleted the wrong file and the phone was soft bricked with me having no idea how to fix it
my first Android device was a Nexus 7 2013 tablet xd
Damn that is nice one
so I got stock android, and it was super smooth
ikr :D charged mega slow though ;-; its only downside
I remember wanting a nexus 6P for the longest time
even had NFC and wireless charging !! which I didnt use back then
Then a week after it was behaving weird so it got warrantied out for a Pixel XL which out the time was brand new
Yeah I remember that wireless charger
It was tiny
I used that tablet a lot, cause I had a Windows phone... so any apps I couldnt get or find an alternative for, I got on my tablet instead
I used to use tablets as well
One with android market my sister broke it
And another with android 4
Android Market?
I was gonna repair the port but I ended up breaking the screen
Prehistoric market
Came before app store
And play store
Tablets were okay anyways
Honestly what is missing on today's android tablets is the software
Like Samsung has dex
But even then having full Photoshop like ipad is would be mighty helpful in coaxing people
In fact all other companies mostly gave up
Like there are Chinese tablets out there
And also android boxes seemed to have died
Once again Chinese ones exist
So much of the android landscape has really changed
My friend is convinced his Google account got broken into a few weeks after he logged into a random chinese tablet
he got it off Amazon LOL
I mean
There is a chance their password was leaked or not good enough
This is why 2FA should be set up
I have had Turks steal my ea origins account
Due to a bad password
Regardless even Android does not have good tablets these days
At least foldables exist
And if anything once the price gets down
Having a phone and decent sized tablet is quite nice
I really love that on the Huawei tablet, you can sort of lay the tablet on a surface and bend the screen so the bottom half still flat on the surface turns into a keyboard to type on

and then the top contains the app
Tablet to laptop
yes!
Oh yeah Lenovo has a concept maybe even a product for that too
Yeah, but thats a laptop :P
Regardless I would not want to use a on screen keyboard for anything beyond a phone
if it was almost as large as a regular ...say 60% board, id be mostly fine with it
Well glad being a flat plane just feels weird
like when im typing in product names to search for them in Argos on their touchscreens, the kleyboard is large enoughf or me to sort of type like a keyboard
Even a low profile laptop keyboard feels miles better
Just for the feel of some distance
Yeah, for sure
even the damn touchpads on the Steam Deck feel nice to type on cause they have a sort of Force Touch effect to them when you click
they dont physically move but it really feels like they do
Eh that feels wrong too
Like I get what they are trying to do
With solid state
But buttons can last a long time
this game is so perfect for the Steam Deck <3 <3 and the annoying visual glitches got solved with new proton GE versions :D
Split Second <3
Turks would never do that š
Want proof
idk why I read that as water proof
Hello I am under the water
Well I cannot find it right now
But my email and password along with games were on a Turkish forum
I was not the only one on there there were a ton of other people

YAML means YAML Aint Markup Language
Network Chuck
I had a bad password that could be found with a dictionary attack+ guessing the number 1
It was dumb
rip

I lost my amc theater gift cards due to using that password in duplicate places
Lol you live and you learn
Originally YAML was said to mean Yet Another Markup Language
yeh I know xd
freaking Kubernetes is strange... in the manifest deployment yaml, can I only have a maximum amount of replicas to physical nodes?
apparently not
doing random stupid shit with the keyboard in your passwords is a decent idea
or cyrillic
ah classic
rialto bridge cancelled, to nobodys surprise
Arc GPUs already cancelled?!?!?
please read more than just a headline
or hell, even the headline tells you this is not about Arc
hhmmm
Kind of non relevant but does anyone know where to find replacement skates for the g pro wireless?
Mine are chipping away and it doesnāt glide the best
Logitech right? They're pretty chill about shipping replacement parts within warranty if you bug them about it directly
To the point where if they don't have the parts they'll just ship a new unit without much bother
Lancaster Sound... that's a successor to their "Arctic Sound" thing?
Yes
Ahh Falcon was their hybrid thing they announced last year
Was actually sounding compelling
But with their financial situation worsening, might be on the backburner as it doesn't seem like a primary product
Iāll see about it
Since the glide on the skates is getting worse
To where itās noticeable
Thanks for the help
this sums up IntelliJ also https://youtu.be/3TrANr9lgEA

makes sense, its about python
love it when you hate a product because you as an enduser are too stupid to configure the software
is PEP8 a good styling convention probably yes.
do you need to follow it? no
can you disable specific hints or all? yes and yes
So itās a rambling about default settings?
Which are objectively good settings
ya as i said id say they are probably good
usually more than 1 person decide on coding styles like PEP8
ok now that I watched it, what exactly is the issue you think that exists? that warnings might come pre-emptively because the editor wont know when you write the next line of code?
Valve Software is giving final touches to its first PC title in close to a decade, and under its cult-classic Counter Strike franchise. The game's tightly-guarded development was leaked to the web in an NVIDIA GeForce software game profiles file, which described its binary executable files as "csgos...

inb4 source 2
yup. Packaged a shit opinion as humour, so they can say it's a joke when people point out how dumb their opinion is
yeah it being source 2 makes sense, was supposed to come years ago already
if only TF2 could get anything in the last 10 year
it's crazy how cpu bottlenecked TF2 is
fps still drops low with a high end cpu
32 man servers mang
B-but big upcoming update!
Team Fortress 3
@final flame you ever auditioned those Focals?
No waiting on the guy to call me back
ah
Anybody know how to get a translucent bottom bar on windows 11?
taskbarx might work on win 11 i do not remember
Nah doesn't work
With the amount of changes to the taskbar during the last few updates
It probably won't work
The new arduino is great
Not without a explorer tweak that has the possibility of breaking your explorer process
Awesome just awesome
hmmm, freedom fiber have offered to give me fiber 500 up and down for free for 6 months.... which means i can run it alongside my current connection which is in contract till Dec.
Do i take the offer and switch after 6 months hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Tell them to sign you up but not start your service until your other contract expires
Or they buy you out of your contract value plus the free six months
Otherwise there's 0 point to the free six months if you use them up while you're paying for other internet š
Nah the point is you get better internet for free while tied to the old provider
Since you canāt really cancel the old one you still get the new one but donāt pay twice, if itās better and you are ok with a longer minimum runtime that works out well
If they are some shit isp you want to leave after 6 months the cycle repeats though
I renew every 18 monts to keep the price down
atm i pay for 380/30 for 34 quid.
They are after 6 months 35 for 500/500
but also 40 quid for gigabit vs 65 quidc on my current isp
just check that it's not some small startup that dies in a few months and you're screwed
oh its not, its a government backed one in partnership with Talk Talk
Its essnetially to push everyone to using fiber and remove any copper networks.
also my friend is on it
Lucky
I mean backed by the uk gov doesn't really mean much in my eyes š
its probably a good things just gotta watch out that you dont end up with some annoying side issues
yup turns out its actually not that hard or expensive to run good internet infrastructure and big isps for decades have just taken government money and put it to shit
Here in Aus we were meant to get a full fibre network.
Then people voted for the onion man leading to the project getting a massive downgrade
is that why youre internet is so expensive but honestly often trash
And then scuffed games like star citizen have them filled with players from other regions because lower pop servers work significantly better
Look - They chose to settle halfway across the planet from civilization. It has costs š
be the change
Oh thatās unfortunate, samd21 registers mentioning high speed usb mode was just a documentation bug.
I wish Windows would enforce window snapping on all apps using it. So tired of apps like Spotify refusing to remember snap states, leaving me to literally having to drag them pixel by pixel to the edge š
I just use PowerTools FancyZones for the pefect window snapping
At this point I've just disabled snapping entirely, since it's so hit or miss.
Some apps will remember their position, others refuse to. Even if just minimized.
My Chrome window always offsets slightly to the right, so every time I open it I have to push it back into the side.
absolutely none of this is about pycharm.
this is all about pycharm warning, nothing more, about pep8, which most of it can be auto formatted with ctrl alt L
and pep8 is bea
or the goat as younglings say these days or something
did you mean bea or bae?
idk, i dont keep up with these
I think we pay about £45 for 500/500 but we also have our TV license thing included through that
Only thing is I'm only getting about 120/80 on my desktop upstairs even though we've routed a direct ethernet line from the modem downstairs to my desktop upstairs using a 20m cable and taking it outside the house along the wall
this is with these boards.. what are you going to run on it?
is it kept up to date?
you can do a lot on these, NAS, Media Server, Emulation etc
Get an orange pi.
Just no. No Lana.
thats to easy of an answer. can you run ubuntu on it? unmodified? does it require manual patches? who maintains this?
256gb system drive
bold of you to assume that I have a router
Lana uses hotspot on phone.
is this board going to be basically be scrap because of lack of software support?
Everything else is too expensive and has data limits
i doubt it, KHADAS seem to support them pretty well but as for third party support, im not sure yet
thats the major advantage of PIs
indeed
Data limits :/
I cant get the plan I have on my phone for a sim router
its a sim card right? jyust plonk it in there
what about texts and calls?
Does your carrier not allow for a 2nd SIM? That's pretty oldschool and backwards.
idk man
xd
this method lana is using is probably against the terms :p
when I get a car, I will go in a ask
Having a 2nd SIM for an iPad or something similar is quite normal.
To get reception while on vacation.
yeah....but havent been stopped yet xd
if its working.. who cares š
it works for wifi.... but I cant host servers or whatever on it :/
cause I cant assign static IPs or port forward
android support thetering over usb too
oof. thats quite a bit for 4/5g
I have optical fiber lmao.
HOW TF IS THIS GNOME DESKTOP?????
Mid, uptime is only 8hrs.
There is fiber in our "neighbourhood" but its got a data limit on every plan except the most expensive one
and that costs about 70 a month
the 30 euro plan has 60gb limit
I'd have to pay like 10k to get fiber to my house
I very clearly hit them @prisma crag
For us itās about 300 usd per month for business internet. Consumer one sucks ass.
if there was an existing cabling here, then it'd be just 250⬠to join and 29,99/mo for 1GB/1GB
I save 50 a month with this
I havent noticed any throttling yet
tbf, im likely the only one anywhere near me using this much data
so its not very congested
For me itās practically unlimited, havenāt been throttled yet.
They dont throttle business plans...Id hope anyway
depends on what you buy
Yeh, thats how they trick you :/
its in the terms, always
Nahhh, no way
for business fiber it all about stability.
no overbooking, great hardware, support
that too. static IP
which is quite expensive these days
at home i had a "business" connection with an IP.
but they were getting rid of that plan, and the new plans with static ips were substantially more expensive š¦
sounds about right :/
so their home internet is just 4G in a proper router?
....wow ok
does that router support all the same features a regular one does?
such as forwarding and static IPs and shit?
That entirely depends on the carrier. Probably not.
home internet is usally static. maybe that alows them the estimate better.. but its most likely to be able to compete
But this is exactly what I ducking suggested you to buy further up, if you could get a second SIM š
The router we had during college was the best router
Wait so what's the difference between factory and hand lubing your keyboard?
could automatically log into to my DDND provider to send it IP changes
lubed out of the box vs you take the switches out and do it yourself
Yes but any difference in quality?
not really, ddepends on how much lube they apply
Hand lubing typically covers more parts.
Since I saw Mansen replying to a previous post in #1019723042244534282
This message specifically
Well if you reply it magically gets unforgotten š
True true
I'm just not used to using threads because very few servers I'm in use them (apart from this one there's like 2 I know of)
Well yeah my next question was going to be how often do I need to lube it?
Like once every 6 months?
I think it's a great case of "you don't know you need it till you've tried". I was skeptical as well until I actually lubed mine. And comparing it to stock boards I've had in for RMA, it's a world of difference to me.
Once.
My condolences
So maritime and temperate
Yeah one of the reasons my parents are advising me not to get a motorcycle XD
Oh ok fair enough
I'd say to just take one switch off every few months and see if it's up to your "lubing" standard
I'm still new to mechanical keyboards in the sense of understanding some things
And how do I tell that?
Was just curious so that I could align lubing my keyboard with when I take my desktop apart every 4-6 months
yes but you dont need to :P
And by take apart I mean just opening the tempered glass panels and cleaning dust
Yeah ik now lol
Also sidenote
Does having my OS on the same drive as all my games affect it's boot speed in any significant way?
as long as its not nearly to full capacity, then it shouldnt
i clean my dust filter once a year.. thats it! :p
Since I only have a 1TB 970 Pro and I'll probs upgrade and install a 2TB for games or another 1 TB for games
It's mainly dust
I don't have space for it on my desk so it sits on the floor outside next to my desk and my room gets quite dusty
aha, I have a 2TB for games and 1TB for media and then a 256 for my OS
Like enough that you can swipe your finger and get a noticeable amount on it from one of the meshes on the side of the case after 1-2 weeks
Ah got it
Yeah see my old PC
lubing switches requires you to take apart each switch itself into its components
I built it and never opened it again in the 7 years I had it
Well that's somewhat a lie
My dad opened it once when I was away and cleared the dust from it about 3 years ago
But that was it iirc
No new paste or anything else lol
lubing a keyboard is time consuming and not everybody feels the need to do it
It held out pretty well until about June 2022 where it was just becoming too hard to play some games or even run them
Yeah it took me 4½ hours or so for my 60HE.
But now that I actually understand stuff more as opposed to my 10 year old self I'm going to try to take more care of it
Do you need to lube all the components in that
Or just the spring itself?
Depends on your preference.

Calder shows two techniques here.
Always wondered how you can lubricate your lekker switches or grease your stabilizer wire. In this video, we will deep dive on different methods of lubing and some general tips and tricks. Using the Wooting 60HE.
Krytox GPL 205G0 and Molykote EM-50L lubricant:

Petition to change the name to this
Pretty sure youtube auto captions has the right ideas
No but I know how lube works lol
TIL VS Code on Windows tried to install Python from the Windows Store if it cant find it installed on your computer already
.-.
You'll spend a good few hours lubing a keyboard btw
Graphite is used as a solid lubricant in certain places
Yeah
Or when it's not viable to use liquid lube
Like at high temps
Lol ik
Or a car, eitherway both require regular maintenance
Found a nice yamaha yzf-r125 2019 for £3k which only had about 14k miles on it
Yeah ik
I mean tbh - most people don't maintain most things that are recommended to be maintained at set intervals
Like mousepads as well, hinges on doors etc.
Meanwhile I'm maintaining my car one week before it's MOT
XD
VS CODE CAN PLAY VIDEOS WTF
Wait till you find out that VS Code is just a glorified browser app just like discord
Fun
yeh, I know its Electron
I'm watching the lubing video and I just freak out each time Calder pulls the keycaps
Just feel like I'm going to break something
Clean them how
Like just the top of them or fully including around the switches
Got it
I'll probs just test out taking apart my current keyboard to get more confident before doing it on that
Since I'll be keeping it as a spare in case I need it or I want to lube the wooting in two sessions and want to use my desktop
Anyway gtg now but I'll check back in an hour or so :P
NASA fixes solar observation spacecraft by turning it off and turning it on again https://t.co/pofGRXrxla

Musk fixes Twitter's dropping revenue by firing everybody
Bit overkill but you do you. (the IPA)
If it's stupid but it works... it's still stupid
I'm still unsure what keycaps I should go for
kinda tempted by frosted, ps1 or black and white š¤
I'm not really a big custom keycap fan. Got my dream set when I bought my first mech keeb but I want something new
so this brings you pain?
I just like the PS1 colour scheme
i though mac actually quite heavely used the 3 mod keys
I want to like 65/70 layouts but I'm a right shift user
Seems to be like £160~ for a keyset like above so I might just stick with something boring
Gonna go back to my meme keycap set up and just mixup a black keyset and a white keyset
I'm a Windows/Debian user so no harm but I am unfortunately British so I'll need the big ol' enter key so an accent kit would be needed
Yeah it kinda is because it forces you to have a non-grey iso enter
That's how they get you to buy it, so they can get a better MOQ price š
wang
Ah yes - The SNES colour scheme š
totally a snes
Never had a gamecube (or seen one in the purple colour at that), so this is what I see š
the worse snes color scheme
that is the NA one
oh yah the casing in EU is completely different
The US market was afraid of game consoles, so Nintendo had a design that was more neutral and closer to Hifi and VCR equipment. This is much more obvious on the NES.
I thought I've seen plenty of NA snes', don't think I've seen that color scheme though
That's what they looked like in the US.
so weird
looks like parma violets for buttons
Non gamer console incognito.
mandela effect I guess
what
What were they smoking in Japan for comparison to the NES š
nothing mandela effect about it
The real SNES
What else explains everyone's collective confusion?
meanwhile russia
ooh a link to cosmopolitan
While I don't mind the look of the EU/JAP SNES, I think the US one is the superior one personally.
that thing even had removable controllers
I even used to have a Raspberry Pi 3 with a custom case like it.
unlike the japanese one
What if the controller was the console though...
May I introduce the iQue, the chinese N64
that's just to bypass chinese laws about consoles
btw that thing runs the best version for mario speedruns iirc
Kind of miss it ngl. It even had a mount for a small fan and a script you could add to the Pi bootup, so the buttons would actually power and reset.
where's the other analog stick
Very well designed interior.
Kids these days
wtf again
LOL
anyway that's a better controller layout imo, always hated the middle stick
I mean the N64 controller was designed to be held from the middle
you can also just grab from the sides for some games
Well ones that use the dpad more often
yeah in some titles you had to use the dpad and the stick, so it was a mess
games are designed with the controller and control scheme in mind, if there was a issue it'd be discovered in playtesting
Mischief Makers
also if you used middle grip, how'd you access the L button
some pro wrestling games used both
Duke Nukem 64
Doom 64
there's a lot actually
you'd use Z
Imagine playing Nintendo 64 games ON the N64. Couldn't imagine it (loads up emulators and a 360 controller)
neither nintendo or microsft could get that right

I'll die on that hill. Microsoft's controllers are the best around to this date. Sony, Nintendo and the others can go take a hike š
I agree...Xbox controller supremacy
has horrible mapping
I also prefer the Xbox stick layout
and the xbox version has it so bad you can't even beat dev times
That's more of a game dev issue if anything š
well
was possible on an n64
it's a horrible port

good controller doesn't fix everything
you have all the buttons on the wooting, fix'd
xbox version doesn't give you access to the c buttons
which are the fastest movement option in the game

The gulikit controller is probably my favorite controller that has been released
same
eh
that is how people used to play all console games
you also couldn't scream enemies in zelda to death
what an annoying comparison vid, can't skip through cause it doesn't say which one is playing when
oh lol
engineering magic
really good stuff, must've been wild to hear that back then
Hmm cheapest sar adc as good as the one stm32h747 has is 40ā¬
:')
The whole Oracle suing Google for their usage of Java in Android
yes yes, that was almost a decade ago shush
The famicon was going to have removable controllers
But there was some regulation for kids toys that the controllers wouldn't meet
But if they were attached to the console they would be exempt
So they just put an internal connector on the PCB and change the case
Because of TV aye

I used chatgbt to make a discord bot, it did very well but just couldn't fix an issue in its code even with hints.
Man with the prices of flagship mice these days, I can see logitech charging 200 for the new superlight
I don't and won't ever get it.
My G703 I love and I can't think of any reason to change it.
Well everyone has been wanting a superlight g703
-20 grams + optical switches would be a worthwhile upgrade
Time to see if I can live with this
I hope the arc wonāt shock you too much
hope you dont want to use vr
Not at all
I have a DK 2 and I stopped used that a long time ago
Well, I donāt know whatās your previous GPU. But itās worth to celebrate that you can afford one in these troubled times
GTX 970
What's wrong with Intel's VR?
Am currently using mouse on Android
I am relatively sure I heard of Intel's iGPUs running VR
Remember to update your drivers
How did Intel fuck up dGPUs not to run VR?
Yep definitely want to do that
Because itās Intel š¤£
Intel is more competent than any of us
I am interested cause I don't remember reading about vr issues
They have been living on their high horses for so long. They donāt know what people do with their computers these days
Anyone have a good pbt keycap set that theyād recommend?
Try akko
Can you be more specific? Good is different to everyone
because how does that relate at all
I got a set of duckyās and a set of puddings from steel series
Something really cheap like HyperX double-shot pbts are just fine
You don't need to overspend
HyperX Pudding Keycaps are the perfect way to upgrade your keyboard. The keycaps feature a translucent dual-layer design to let more light through. Our signature HyperX font is bold and wide, allowing for more light to shine through to enhance the visibility and legibility of the individual keys....
also doesnt fit, its not liike they forgot or never thought about using vr with it, it just has issues
Same drivers..?
iGPUs and dGPUs are unified, if iGPUs can run VR how can dGPUs not
the drivers are not the same because the hardware is not the same
How are they not the same if the generic Intel dGPU driver is literally the recommended one for my 11th gen iGPU
Thick preferably multi color
The drivers are not the driver installer
A single driver installer contains many drivers
hardware isnt even made on the same node why would it be the same
If it's an exe or MSI, it's an installer, not the actual driver itself
First delaying the release for a year, then drivers issues , having problems till this day. I call it a miss during QC and missing targets during dev.
Heck many drivers use a loading driver where it installs a generic driver, then that generic driver loads the correct driver
keep in mind they had driver devs in russia so they literally had to get people out of there for the start of the war to get it ready which adde delay
You know that these products has been in development for quite some time.
The drivers can only really be worked on after the hardware is complete
And hardware errata is a big problem
Also
Ark has zero pre dx12/vulkan handling hardware/microcode
It's all handled in software by the driver
ARK? The game?
