I really wish our maths education had been better

or education in general

no extracurricular clubs or the like

absolutely ass if I ever have children they are not going to school there

my maths teachers were great but frankly I don't think that is enough

well german universities for maths majors seem to be well regarded internationally but my school didn't prepare me well

well one big issue is that some years ago we did bad in the test that compares students from everywhere on the globe (or just europe idk) so we had a school system change and that was a total mess and is now like partially reverted or so idk

basically plan was to make school a year less but they didnt really manage to cram all info into one less year

we get to chemistry and half of the class is like "uhhh wtf are those things on the paper"

turns out they forgot that they cut logarithmic

from the math courses

so we had no clue how to to pH calculations

we used to have a 13th year of school
to cover the advanced stuff you'd need for uni...

instead the unis just dumbed shit down a bit for first year

nono, here it basically put year 5-10 into year 5-9 and keep the the last 3 the same

so some things were missing that other courses starting there expected us to know

I still think it's funny how school teaches vectors without teaching matrices

helpful for university applications
