Idk why people like razer that much
I want a Gigabyte B550 Aorus Pro-WOOT
Wooting lekker colour scheme
I was wondering, have there been tests of performance differences between B450-B550-X570 and also between different boards of same chipset?
Surely there should be no sizeable <5% difference between mobos
in this sentence
I think I mistook chipset to arch
no sizeable <5%
so like, did you mean there is only <5% or that there is more than 5%
Less than 5% I meant
correct then
insufficent vrms on some budget boards aside that will cause 16 core to throttle
and I think one msi board made the 5600x throttle
but aside from those
Soz for the confusion, typically the range of perf difference in most tests I have seen to not be discarded is 5% or more
If it's below 5% most reviewers would say it's within margin of error
yes the way you worded it just either made it look like that is still sizeable or you disagreed with yourself lol
"disagreed with yourself", wouldn't be the first time
So I suppose specifically performance advantages between same chipset boards don't really exist
What you'll want to pay attention is VRMs and other features
Cant find MS Word or Office in the control panel to uninstall it .-.
I want to
It may be the windows apps version
Check the settings menu
oh, is this it?
Yes?
Yep
It's most of 4gb
That's 40 copies of vvvvvv
LOL
it has 2.5g
its an entirely different board though
one less x1 slot
different vrm stages
How does Taichi not have 2.5 gigabit to begin with
ikr
hell 10g
x470 taichi ultimate has 10g
but yeah the razer ediditon is a different pcb
upgraded vrms
for nas to pc
i dont use the 2.5g anymore
because it has driver issues
so i ahve a 10 gbe in the x4 slot
I suppose it can be useful for video and photo editors and such if they work in a company where multiple computers are connected to a central network
lol
So they can very quickly upload or download they work
Raw photos can be huge
lol
i keep all my media on nas
But for video editing and such you really may
10g isnt big money now
single port 10gbe is down to $50 used
switchs are kind of big money
you can get used switchs with dual 10g for 50~60 bucks
new one for $200
Also if you are too small to afford 10g, get a Nas that supports direct attach
Android Jellybean's Easter Egg was literally flicking the beans
Or just got gud at networking and direct attach Ethernet it up
Fancy asf webcam.
Raw video into ninja v into cam link 4k
Tracking autofocus without pulsing
No fkn time limit (looking at you canon)
Swapped back to this setup after i figured out the cam link 4k can't handle the HDMI out of the 5d iii
They did remove the limit in a software update for R5
It will just get very hot
Maybe if they did put some thermal paste on the chip it wouldn’t need the limit
You can also get R5C but it looks ugly, with how big the cooling is
Problem with canon tho is they have the pulsing af issue in video caf
Works shockingly well for moving subjects
But sitting still in a dark environment? Yikes
if i create a new profile in wootility are changes automatically saved
No. No it is not.
i see this
i have a sony camcorder
its only 1080
but clean af
But smaller sensor
3 chip 1/2"
And this monstrosity is 4k
ah yes for additional profiles not on the keyboard the changes should be saved automatically
Aye thank you
they likely have the same effective quality at 1080 unless you have studio lights on your face
Nah
They would likely only have the same effective quality if i had studio lights on my face
3 chip does have sliiiiight sensitivity advantages, but this sensor size difference is immense
EX1 has amazing low light performance though
[citation needed]
any one who as used one
they are one of the most common 1080 camcorders used professionally
they do amazingly well indoors in low light
and it has no issues with constant video
no over heating issues or software bugs
the lcd flips around for selfie mode
I looked up video online and it's fkn grainy at 12db of gain
Which to my understanding corresponds to 1440 iso
At 18 it's unuseable
I run normally at 25600, tho the Olympus in raw only lets me do 6400 (which is still solid with all noise reduction off)
Definetly the cleanest image comes from the a7iv obviously
But the 5diii is not far off at all
And it solidly slaughters the Sony in dynamic range using magiclantern
Fkn 11 stops of Dr at 25600 iso
Like it actually has better low light dynamic range than the phase one using magiclantern
It's complete witchcraft
Sensitivity isn't as good obviously, but pure Dr? Can't beat dualiso
Again autofocus...
Question is when merging 4 pixels into one, can you get same natural blur as if it was a one bigger pixel instead?
Let’s say iPhone 14 pro camera for example
Since there sensor size is limited and then making it 48MP means smaller individual pixels
Some line skip
Some bin
Some average
And some downscale
It's not 48mp
It's a 12mp quad beyer sensor
Physical sensor on the left
Fancy math in the middle
Result image on the right
My 108mp phone camera does this
Still would it have worse or same natural blur as if it was just a casual 12MP sensor?
If it was same size
I would say with more than quad it’s kinda cheating.
Or well with 4 you still have all colors next to each other
With 9 middle pixels is not to any other colors
For these it's identical
math does wonders, in this case it gets a lot of data from making it more than 4
Like with quad you can draw square so each square has 2 green 1 blue 1 red pixels and you will have 48 with them.
Can’t do that with 9
Ah but
Humans can't resolve that much color data
You are doubling your luminance data
If you zoom to the diffraction limit, all of these will look identical
a phone is meant to take pictures that look good, not to deliver data most accurate to do the FBI enhance memes on
We are already at 16x beyer now for the best smartphone cams
Well nice thing about 48MP sensor is you can have 12MP at 2x zoom
And you can do the same with a 108mp sensor
Except you can also go 3x zoom and get 12mp worth of luminance data
Well the thing is that then the resolution is a bit fake. Above quad it’s just mathematically not as accurate.
Since you have big sections where you lack one color pixels
Nah
Mathematically speaking it's just as accurate
how about we invest into just strapping a dslr to the back of the phone
Nope
Not at 12mp
What I am saying is, if you had 108mp sensor that’s not using any of this magic vs 108mp sensor with 16 pixel magic I don’t think it would be as accurate on very small level, if you fully zoomed in into 16.16 pixel grid
Ok?
With quad you can kinda shift how you view a pixel, to get 4 different color sections next to each other making it possibly as accurate
But you get to zoom in 1.4x further...
I wonder actually if you can make it just as accurate that way
That is true, it’s a worth it thing ngl
And you get better low light perf thanks to having the ability to average the noise from many more adcs
The 200mp sensors are actual monsters
don't worry, iphone15 will do the same numbers and then suddenly it will be the best idea ever to do it that way and not considered cheating
You can run them for the best of all worlds
I wonder if you read quad array on 12 mp sensor like this, would it be just as accurate as having 48MP native sensor?
With more than quad it wouldn’t but this way I wonder
Mathematically they are identical
Again nope
But placement accuracy
The math is complicated
Talking about placement aquaracy though not luminance data
But what if you have very thin layer of blue light that on more than quad would only hit green and red areas, despite the areas being the size of multiple pixels
The luminance would change still lel
How?
Color filters are characterized and very much not perfect
Well yes but it wouldn’t change as much as it realistically should
Though it would change for sure to some extend that is true
You don't understand
Again none of this would work on a full size camera due to a bunch of optics bs
o.o why?
Diffraction
What with it?
You really should learn more about how optics work
Ya know how lenses go blurry at f16?
Well I am going to uni only next year
And so far in physics we had basic optics but nothing regarding how camera sensor/eye focus work
Like I am quite curious but not sure how exactly do aperatures work ngl
Well
I don't exactly have the many hours required to explain it sll
But the long story short is the light bends when you send it through a small hole and spreads out
12mp on these sensors is generally beyond the limit of where there starts to be blur between pixels of point light sources
Hmm
That does make sense
Never thought of thinking about it being because of diffraction
However if you know the exact luminance of every point, you can sharpen the image to back where it came from better
But actually that does make sense
Oh yea phones are omega diffraction limited
Is the reason too low apertures sometimes get less accurate just impurities in the glass of the lense?
No
Why then?
Well yeah that’s what I meant
Impurities are also a thing
But yeah thinking of it from diffraction standpoint really does make sense
And problems in the coatings also exist
If you think of the optics as a band limited function horizontally, you can use extra sampling to do some very fancy Nyquist math
Well hopefully I’ll learn sth about that next year in uni
Though tbh I am a bit more interested in electronics than optics
Though that may change if I go to general engineering
Though 4/5 of my aplications are for electronics and not general
But the one I want to go the most is to general
you're most likely going to have those topics covered anyway
Get into video dsp and you can have fun with this
True
electronics isn't going to skip out on all other parts of physics aside from electron flow
Well sure but point is I may actually chose to focus on sth else if I find sth else more interesting with general
And then choose modules to get degree from that
While if I go to electronics I can’t get degree for sth else
Or well one of my aplications is to joint honors computer science and electronics so that’s different
But ignoring that
you wont get another degree but its not like its impossible to change it wile at uni or to get something not directly in your field afterwards
Well yes but it’s less likely than if I do general engineering
Since there I’ll have 2 years of no focus
So higher chance of sth else catching my interest i think
¯_(ツ)_/¯ look at dr. cutress who went from phd in chemistry to writing articles analysing how bigger l2 cache makes cpu faster
Tbf unless I get into Oxford it’s unlikely I’ll be doing general engineering
And getting there is not exactly easy
everything being streamlined is simple but not always likely to happen
You will be required to learn about diffraction and nyquist
It's very very nescessary
Probably will
But don’t need it for entrance exam
So don’t have time to learn about it rn, about anything not required
Since it would be Pog to get in
And the exam is 2nd November
And a lot depends on it

And there are some things from physics we didn’t have yet
Which is not too cool
time to ask for gerber files mansen and order a purple woot pcb
Time to buy Intel ARC A750 LE
if you hate yourself go ahead
I think they had it for a while
Unless charming purple is somehow different from the normal purple
Expecting AMD-FineWine^2
It'll overcome 3080 in a few years 😉
its charming
enjoy your rotten malort
You rooted for AMD, now root for exponential finewine!
I never rooted for anyone
Oh ok, maybe it was me then
I simple looked at some leaks and knew how to do math when xbox basically confirmed rdna2 power to us
oshpark been doing that shit for years
aaand this is the kind of mentality that will keep us in a duopoly til the end of days
I dont need to subsizide a billion dollar company if I have to suffer for it then
they're not really bad cards, not after the recent updates
worth the money? debatable
Well ngl Intel has definitely enough money, still they may decide to kill if GPU Division like they did with optane, and that wouldn’t be too cool
As long as you play mostly just newer games
but if nobody cares to give it a shot we'll be back to status quo in no time
770 cost about the same or more than a 3060, have software issuses and less performance in most, unplayable in something like csgo
csgo is ancient anyway, people need to move on
Intel adopted DP 2.0 before nvidia
Why doesn’t 4080 have DP 2.0, it has enough bandwidth if it can have HDMI 2.1 clearly
Cause dp 2 is multiple specs in 1
Wasn’t it like 160 fps on cs go? Sure way less than other cards but in that case still a lot
Yes but the lowest one would be cool to have at least
nah 160fps literally unplayable m8
Average
It has frametimes under 60
1% lows and stutter make 160fps unplayable in a game lise cs
Like ampere had ability to have two 48gbps ports rest lower
I'd expect it to improve further over time
prob for a new g-sync chip
So why can’t they put at least one hdmi 2.1 and one DP 2.0 UBR 10 there even if it’s not better than ampere
they dont want the best to be availbie over adaptive sync
but sure, the arcs are a bit adventurous to bet your money on if you're into a lot of old games
they literally dont have dx9 hardware and need to emulate it, it will never be as good, passable at best
I am sure it’s better than my iGPU
100% of csgo players?
and that group is in decline
lmao
csgo is still most played game on steam
most csgo players are 60 hz i bet
probably because it can run on a computer from the bronze age
I wonder if reason mc with very heavy shaders on my m1 MacBook is absolutely cpu limited because of translation
exactaly
Since 4k and full hd is same fps
wouldn't matter if they are 60hz, you still gain advantage from higher fps
dx9 should not be a priority for new gpus imo
debatable
It shouldn’t be a priority but it’s nice to have
most people arent skilled enough for it to matter
Skill issue
not saying it should be, but it should not make a 350$ card act worse than a igpu
Does it act worse than Intel iGPUs even? That would be funny
Wait actually? I did see mc being ran on it
On the ltt stream
unless that is supoer recent
in average no, consistency I'd take an igpu usually over it
bedrock maybe
Well idk on the linuses stream I am pretty sure I saw him playing mc
And like, my Intel iGPU has no problems with mc
Ofc
very different uarch
that's considerably worse yes
I wish apple silicone didn’t drop support for older OpenGL, it could run shaders so well but now there are weird artifacts
Ngl if it doesn’t support Minecraft then I change my previous statement, even at risk of the division being killed of, it doesn’t deserve being bought
ill look at ltt
Not sure if it was bedrock or not tbh
but the only bench i could find was rtx
I wouldn't care too much personally since I haven't played MC in fookin years
but yeah its a huuuuge game
in terms of player amount
anyway, not my fault intel is not making the cards cheaper so I wouldn't get them or recommend them, if the rest is worse they at least need make me spend less to consider it
Oh then doesn’t matter
bedrock is way more popular
and its 1/3 the fps
barely 60 on stock mc
Not way more
And I don’t care about bedrock
And you shouldn’t either
Bedrock has the awful marketplace
Java has way better and free mods
csgo is moving to vulkan/dx12.. Maybe 1.6 😉
java edition with 32 chunk rendering threads fucking flies
80 fps on default settings, 300 with 32 threads
Now this is not a good frame to compare tbf
Since with 3060 he is mostly facing ground
Which means more fps than in the second scenario naturally
Sure the difference wouldn’t change which GPU did better
But it’s still not directly comparable
you do realize percentile are averaged over time since you dont get them from just current frametime?
thats them hitting each other right at load
Literally looking opposite directions
arc has advantage and is still worse then
But in mc it genuinely makes a lot of difference which direction are you looking
Indeed
Like it matters a lot but not 7 times as much a lot
yes for current rendertime not for percentile done over time
Eh it’s survivable
16 vs 38 is extremely oof
I am used to worse
yeah but apples to apples is what car said
Makes sense
doulbe the 99th is a MASSIVE playablity imporvment
Don't spend that much money on that horrifically bad an experience
and i intend on buying arc
3x
lol
Below 10 is unplayable I would say
Me too, but not soon
For 99
Eh
At 100 fps that's 1 frame per second that is a visible stutter
At 50 it's 1 frame every other second that is a visible stutter
It's highly unpleasant
Limit fps at 20
Now range is 16-20
Issue solved
No more visible stutter
Bexin tech tips
Ah but that's not even gonna be the case probably
the lowest 99th in the video was 1
not sure in what worlds 850 and 350 are in the same tier but yes that sounds correct
Oddly specific app...
I doubt it's a honeypot
Otherwise it would be on the play store where a lot more people would find it
finally, an app for me
you have no idea how hard it is to keep track of how much you toke
you just buy weed, get baked and then a week later or something you've run out
very intricate and complicated science
buy more than your smoke
Hey can u create a AWDS Shift ctrl Space and 4 custom button keypad. I would love to have one from your quality
if you buy a thousand of those probably
Apple Pay was introduced in 2014 and is now accepted by 85% of US retailers. But the country’s most popular store, Walmart, is missing from that list. And it’s because they have a payment system of their own. It started with CurrentC. A company created by a group of retailers, including Best Buy, Target, and Walmart.
TLDW: Walmart wants to use their own shitty and unsecure app so they can avoid transaction fees and collect as much customer data as possible
how do I remove this? its not going away no matter what I do .-.
You're going to need an old priest and a young priest.
XD
FUCK OFF, TOOLTIPS
its impossible to quickly press these buttons cause the tooltip blocks half of them
right click, change wallpaper
the search box wont go away
nope

space bill boards should be very illigal
^^
not to mention, they will cause light pollution and make it much harder for astrologists and scientists to observe the universe
and I dont wanna look up into the night sky and see DORITOS floating there .-.
Is this the synapse installer??
that annoying shit that pops up EVERY TIME I turn the speakers on?
I dont want synapse
especially for something I dont need software for such as speakers
I installed it before, all it lets you do is change the RBG and choose between 3 audio presets
and the default sounds best anyway
Then delete it XD
It's like every time there's a picture of it it gets bigger
4090 but every image of it adds one watt and one fan
They don't want people in the store lol
They do as much as possible to make you not come in
why did they get someone who makes it look like its a parody as the person on cam lmfao, legit thought from his look at first it's someone dressing up like a old school prof to talk fun about it
Tesco does that but luckily you can still use other stuff
As in they want you to use their app, they just don't not allow apple etc
Idk why im saying this since you have Tesco too
Funny thing is that their app is region locked
So many apps are region locked
Wish there was like a vacation mode for App Store to download stuff from App Store region you are in at a time
But well did create a secondary uk account and download most apps few weeks ago
Ye
Play store has some form of region delisting
Also
But not not outright blocking where you need a second account
It’s well not entirely locking, it’s just that you can’t download the app unless you match the region, if developer chooses so
Though once it’s downloaded you can update it and do whatever you want
It’s so when you type in dominos or sth you don’t get 1000 irrelevant apps for each region
But I wish there was a simpler way around than second account
We are talking about the store itself
But yeah it sucks, I see why they do it, just wish there was a simple workaround
At least it’s relatively easy to create a second account I suppose
i think its the app publisher choosing a region

Our review of the NVIDIA RTX 4090 Founders Edition video card tests the new GPU vs. the RTX 3090 Ti, RX 6950 XT, RTX 3090, RTX 2080 Ti, and more. This $1600 MSRP video card has a release date of October 12, 2022, and has mostly been in rumors for power consumption,...
Indeed
Blame them
I mean it makes sense to do to some extend but meh
I wonder if the cpu bottleneck is going to make rdna3 punch nvidia in the guts at 1440p since they tend to have a lot less overhead on team red
4090 can actually do 4k60 with RTX on.
In all the tested games
That's actually impressive
And same power as a 3090ti
So instead of all the dumb leak shit
insane just how bad the 3090ti was as a product lmfao
It's actually good at everything but price
Jesus
holy fuck
it's actually a massive improvement
it's just priced poorly
I mean
4080 benchmarks when?

Yeah no day yet just November
yeah 4080 is going to wait on amd to announce so they can tune things if needed
inb4 jebaited again
so not used to watching GN and seeing FF14 in the background screens lmfao
The power usage spikes of the 4090 are legit not bad at all too which is even more impressive
smh nvidia once again failing to beat vega
Ikr
It's crazy to think this is missing a full 2000+ cuda cores from ad102 full die...
GN got 666.6 out of theirs oc
yeah 4090ti stock is going to be thirsty
Will wait for 4k 240hz
Then I'll jump from 1440p 240hz to 4k 240hz 😈
RTX 5000 series should do the trick
Almost there
Soon a computer will use more electricity under load than the entire rest of the building's usage combined ...
my hair dryer uses more than my pc...
wat
the 4090 uses the same base power as the 3090, both are 450 so that didnt really increase
hair dryer starts at alike 1500
o.o really??
450 watt continuously for a few gaming hours easily is more than a few minutes of 1500 watt
and thats just the gpu :p
ye..
sure over time you wont use it as long as a pc
yeah but cpus are never going near gpus powerdraw unless you go to servers
not even close
i'll keep my 3070ti and get like a 5080 or some shit whenever that comes out
no, but 150 watts for cpu, 450 for gpu is 600 watts
yeah but in a game you will like half of that on the cpu
who
Tpu
well it would make it higher but still less gains at lower resolutions
How do you not run a 5800x3d
Either way, the real performance gain is like 50% over the 3090
because then they'd have to rerun everything to make it comparable
Which is still pretty good
I love that the power draw is the same as the 3090ti after everyone said it was going to kill houses
Wasn't originally Ada Lovelace meant to be just an Ampere refresh?
The coolers scared people
Who wants to buy me a 4099
How's Ada now one of the biggest generational perf jumps in history
It's not much bigger than the ti cooker
It's slightly thicker
No?
Like as far as I'm getting Ada made that big of a perf jump just cause Nvidia stuffed a shit ton of stuff inside
I meant the aib coolers
Originally it was rumoured to be
They are chonk
idk what you are dreaming of sometimes
Not by anyone but mlid probably

i remember that the aib partners got told it would do 600 watt
It was Kopite who said it
so.. they sized accordingly
Ye ole shotgunner
It was supposed to be a refresh until later they fiddled around with it and it became something more
could still be the case for the 4090ti and nvidia just changed how to release it or smth
It does use 600w+ at max pl
I mean koptie saying that doesn't mean anything since others said from the start that Lavalace is a new arch
one person doesnt always get all the right info
If they did architecturally swap it up, they would have had to do that back in early to mid 2021
at that time its more like they are working on lovelace and hopper so probably more something of them just figuring out what can be made for either client or server space and what makes sense
but I remember fairly old leaks saying that nvidia targeted the performance we got so a refresh would not have worked
Well Nvidia just published a paper talking about how they were able to massively improve the speed of their silicon design process with AI modeling
Same questions, one with waterblock and two HDMI 2.1 please
GN got 666w
Tuf or strix, that is the question
That's a lot
Yup
Nice of Nvidia to graciously let the power limit be high /s
Yup aibs
Not like the 3090 miraculously got any slower
oh btw
Aye but the price you paid
Lmao
Most people paid a fortune for some time
I think he paid £1300 or more
yeah but the value wasnt there for those cards on launch and that was known
Ironically he had two 3090s as he forgot to cancel a pre order m
cant really feel bad for that
Wasn't in the last few months...
So we gonna get a HOF with dual 12 pins?
Or 8 8 pins
The entire top edge just 8 pins
Back
You get a dedicated psu bundled with it
Im excited for amd even more now
24 pin is like 125w
24 is only like 150w
I wonder how fast a modern bus powered only gpu would be
12 pin is the same size as 8 pin
3080 mobile lowest perf variants

I wonder if amd will be able to catch up with ray tracing
yes
Nvidia now managed to get it to a point where performance impact isn’t too crazy, would be nice if and does the same
And well I suppose surpassing DLSS 3.0 won’t be hard for now
lmfao you dont even want dlss3.0 with how it is now
That’s what I am saying
Idk it's pretty goddamn sweet
latency and issue on it are making me not want to even try that lol
Wait what's wrong with dlss 3, haven't read anything about it
If amd competitor to DLSS doesn’t make the card crash it’s better than DLSS 3.0
Ooohhh

You'd be surprised
it will obviously get better no question
but in the current state..
Will be interesting if AMD will actually outperform DLSS in the future just like AMD already does vs Nvidia in their own ballpark at times
Do not compare still images
yes I know it might not be as bad if its sandwiched between good frame and that's how the still looks
It's actually dumb to compare still images since the whole point is that it does optical flow
By definition it does nothing to stills
but even a frame that mathematically is really good for inbetween will be visible sometimes since we aren't machines (yet)
Actually
You'd be surprised
Watch the video content
NVIDIA Frame Generation in A Plague Tale: Requiem
obviously not as glaringly bad as on the single frame but I did notice something looking off before the slowmo+zoom
idk 4k youtube bitrate is fine to look at it imo
🤷
You can have that opinion if you want, but that video you posted proves otherwise
The important part of dlss 3 is it isn't CPU limited...

And that's a "price drop"
say thanks putin
As much as I dislike KGB man it's not all on him
I mean, less buying power and all sure, but wouldn't really make the euro drop
EU will recover, hopefully sooner than later
We'll have a harsh next few months but hopefully it gets better by summer
Because MOAR FPS
did their ai speedup really do that much in the end that the early estimates just went way too high? are they preparing for a really good amd card?
Like you use VR iirc?
Have you tried steamvr motion smoothing off on a less than perfectly optimized game?
havent tried anything recently because my quest is dying lmfao only play beatsaber atm
Ah well
You can't turn off motion smoothing on the quest lel
errr what am I saying, rift not quest
the original one, not the S
also curves with numbers to show the point even more
its frame interpolation right? so it has to have already have 2 rendered frames and put an extra interpolated frame in between
yup
thats silly for latency
the fact that it appears to not be adding any latency on top of base (not resultant) framerate is highly impressive
steamvr adds 2ms
the fact that a 4090 is over a petaflop of ai compute is also pretty mental
also this is very interesting
a very low level optimization but one that absolutely makes sense
what I dont understand tho is this part
since when did ampere have an optical flow accelerator?
since the start which is why people think they can likely do dlss3.0 as well just not as good but that nvidia is locking it for 4000 series to make sales
"a hardware accelerator for computing optical flow "
and nvidia themselves in a comparison listed OFA TOPS for the 3090ti so idk how they specify it but based on their own data they have it
the ada whitepaper specifically says starting with ampere
therefore these arent the same thing
idc about turing I just saw that in the pdf, only thought it was in ampere, which was the original question
again
tensor vs separate hardware
and that doesnt mean anything still, turing to ampere had a bigger cuda core jump but less uplift
what the tar does "hardware cost" mean
probably means its dedicated space on the chip?
thats possible
i really wonder what an ofa flop means tho
cause its not the number of flow vectors generated thats for sure
nvidia and making up numbers nobody uses, classic
everyone needs to stop copying apple
omfg I just noticed something while looking for something else
arc 770 is basically a Radeon VII that traded HBM for raytracing lmfao
VII is well priced rn
and the die size of the vii without hbm is smaller than 770
its $150?
Classic Raja
radeon vii
There is one on ebay rn for 499,88 buy it now
300-500 on ebay
absolutely horrific
normally gpus that are eol'd are under 200 unless they are very very special (ares, etc)
Its not like it has 16GB's of HBM2
why does that matter
Good memory
no lel
you're not going to take the memory chips off to use for something else
7 was the best mining card
Which is why it sold out for ages
it was good for mining in terms of it wasnt used for anything else so it was relatively cheap
For algos that used memory, it was the best one
best in terms of fastest?
no
Really like the look of the Nvidia Founder edition cards and the 4090 seems like it's a beast
best in terms of most efficient?
no
Best in terms of hashrate iirc
That thing was topping hashrate charts for the longest of time
Do anyone have a Steam deck here?
yea but it didnt ever make the most revenue per card or per watt or anything
many do including me, https://dontasktoask.com/
yes
Was thinking of buying one and kinda interested what people think of it
its neato
think of when you are gonna use it tho
or if you are just gonna have fun getting it running
How long does the battery last?
depends
Depends a LOT on what game + Settings + TDP + FPS
name a game and i can give you an estimate tho
Id suggest playing AAA at 30-40FPS if you wanna conserve battery and lowering the TDP and GPU clocks as long as you can take them
you can set these values per game, so its really useful
Factorio
thats a lot of yellow
POE , Doom , A plague tale perhaps?
it runs though :D
Hmmm
those are probably 2-3 hour games
get a battery bank
ive played many games say unsupported, so just try and see
Doom can do 3 apparently
maybe more if you lock to 30
Is there any Youtube app? or do one go through the browser?
I am playing the outer worlds only on Deck and it's a great experience
just use the browser
Browser or FreeTube
but the screen is hot trash
I dont mind the screen, better than my Switch for sure
your phone is definetly gonna be a better screen tho
even if you like have a $150 phone...
The Deck screen will be like your computer screen but smaller
its sub 1k:1
so no its like one of those bottom tier laptop screens but brighter and smaller
Ah ok was thinking of using it as an all-round device when traveling/chilling in the sofa & such
yea thats what its for
When you are in games, the screen is plenty good
yup
Is it the Anti-glare verison?4
thats why i only brought it up after they mentioned youtube
Ok 🤔
its like if you accidentally leave limited gamut mode on on your computer
Ok so the Switch OLED wins in that department then 😅
Maybe really grey games like Elden Ring and Skyrim may look not the best but other games are fine
You can install the Vibrant Deck plugin to increase saturation
But the Switch is so limited with games then
yup
Yeah was thinking of the Deck lol
the deck is stronk
Have you modded it?
Going back to my Switch, my hands hurt and cramp
Ive installed Proton GE and run most games using that and added a custom boot animation, but that's it
I did install the Plugin Loader earlier but removed it again
mine is full stock and i just cant hold it up while lying in bed for hours at a time without my arms hurting
I also installed EmuDeck to a second SD card but I cant launch the games from Game Mode cause Steam Rom Manager refuses to open
but I can launch it from desktop mode without issues and play all the retro games
but I wanna be able to pick the game itself from game mode rather than launch the emulator then choose the game
Ok 👍
TBF, I think I botched the install, I decided to not open Steam Rom Manager when EmuDeck was done and prompted me to, so maybe thats why it wont launch now
Was thinking if anyone had changed to Hall Effect joysticks or upgraded the battery
use an external battery bank tbh
idk if there is a larger battery for it
this
Yeah well External battery banks are quite good tbf
Should probs get one at some point
i just bought this cheapo on amazon
https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0B4W3Z62N
seems to work surprisingly well
wtf does the smile mean in the URL?
with the biggest shocker being passthrough charging
charity donations
o
Nice
always checkout through amazon smile for a tiny fraction to be donated
its not in stock
I read it as 2,000mAh hour and was like "Bruh, t hats fucking lame"
yea and the price jumped since i bought it
@astral haven I used to but when I get the total contributed jr's usually nothing
I used to use a plugin that auto did it
money works
enough that it matters
every cent counts
theres no disadvantage to setting it up
it just takes 30 seconds per year
they dont appear to be lying
the weight and generic aliexpress versions of these seem to be very similar
Did they release anything more harman than crinacle zero lately@astral haven
Ah
At 200$range yea, zero is 50$
🤷
Maybe it was someone else who told me about unreleased iem's that woud be even better
tbh i prefer the cra+ to the zeros
my bad
the salnotes zero are crin tuned and $25ish
Same as official minus DP
salnote zero vs truthear zero
lol what a confusing pair
Had some KZ ZN Pro headphones they were quite good, sadly they stopped working, bought a new cable and that didn't help 🥲
saderino
But i've got 3 other pairs now wireless only though Edifier X3 , QCY T13 & 1More ComfoBuds Pro
i use cra+ and az09 combo
Oooh nice! 👍
what?
Might need to start looking into more IEMs now then 😆
welcome to the club
meta connect soon, lets get some copium for deckard announcement like they did with index 🙏
deckARD is a bit further off tho than I would hope
Oh they're streaming today*
^^^^^^
I need something to replace my rift since the sound is dead on one side and I really dont want something else so close to next gen launching lmfao
Always nice with new stuff
anyway get ready, 30 minutes for the methverse announcement
you wanna spend 1600 on a headset?
I want to convince my company I should get a deckard and then use it outside of company time as well
well the q3 and deckard are probably cotemporal
@ashen spindle
what
Linus fucked up CP2077 benchies?
Haha
I mean, it should be more of a surprise now with them having the labs people do it extensively
Ye
what did they mess up?
^
Their benchmarks for cyberpunk 2077 dlss off are not remotely close to anyone else's and they are only similar to dlss benchmarks
I know
Anthony
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TdjBlO7sO0g @astral haven gigabyte boards looking better again, bad bios at least wont kill it

My 11900k died kinda similarly without a reason
Though weird thing was I actually got it to turn on once more once with different bios chip, but then it stopped working there too after reset
bz also set static voltage on ambient cooling
Well it still shouldn’t just die like that
this was absolutely a case of new being low voltage tolerance
Temp wasn’t too high and he actually decreased the voltage
uh
this is like throwing 1.7v at your 11900k
Would it instantly die at 33c?
voltage
I doubt the degradation would be that fast
Well even with overvolting temperature matters a bit
On colder temps you can overvolt more without breaking the thing
yes if you are pushing too much voltage
Yes but the too much voltage boundary is different at 33c than 100c
dont think the difference is a lot
Probably not too much tbh
its really not much
well, go ahead and try it on your 11900k and let us know, also gives you an option to get a better system afterwards
But well, sad it happened to AHOC, not someone who can really just afford replacing it
AHOC has some great really in depth videos
tldr static bad for 7000
ngl the thing that shows metaverse just isnt a thing is that they literally have nothing to show in the background aside from beatsaber
the transients from booting windows are probably what ended the cpu
Mark already looks like a meta verse character ngl
I hope vr becomes popular
what fkn metaverse lel
It is but I don’t want it to go too far tbh
What would be cool are AR glasses with self tinting glass that can turn into VR
vr hardware has the revenue of a console
its pretty fkn big
Ye but it also has non consumer applications unlike consoles
Thank you
moar uzerz
Yeah but I also want more games
🤷
surely valve drops deckard any second now
you played bonelab?
Can I get a link
No
No I wouldn't spoil such an experience with my paltry htc vive
For the meta stream
