TECs create temperature difference

When warm side gets too warm

They don’t work as well

Especially since insulation isn’t perfect

I think a way tec could genuinely improve performance would be if it was basically a second layer of cooling, helping to cool your coolant, or working alongside it

That would be a cool thing to try just would require making a custom block which is not very affordable

Even then blocks themselves usually stay cold, wouldn’t be much of a benefit

IRC the Intel 12900KS requires a full cooling loop as even 360mm AIO doesn't have enough heat capacity to prevent thermal throttling

Just add drain and fill port to any loop.

You shouldn't work on anything with it full, moving soft lines is a great way to have a leak.

Although, I just checked 1080Ti temps under load for the first time and am pretty surprised.

A lot of people mentioned getting between 75-90C

But I used to have an MSI 1080Ti (that I pre-ordered, haha 🙂 ) and it never went above 64C

so that needs a lot more cooling

I got ahold of a ton of internal documents that had discussed benchmark test results

And that was about 5 months before Ryzen actually launched
