some people cant focus some dont even notice something is on their desk when they search it
some people need everything in sight to function properly
U can put effort in it and hide each cable as best as possible and yes that's maybe not for everyone but keeping everything decent should be a given
which you might call messy, but they might be much more productive than you
why are we discussing sth when there is nothing to discuss
but it is certainly better to work non-messy.
but some people just... work better with going with a 'muscle-memory' approach rather than a orderly approach
it's the same as telling everyone should buy black keyboard as it fits even if they change the color of their room
if the cables function and its not in the way it's not going to change how I work because visual stuff doesnt bother me at all
so could be messy as hell or clean and I would not notice a difference
cable management outside the computer is simply aesthetics. unless its on the floor or in the way then its a tripping hazard.
even inside to a degree
nah.
You don't want cables to disrupt your air flow or get caught in any fans or such
hence to a degree, if it looks shit but doesnt impact anything its no matter
cards in a bike spoke lol
Lmao imagine they put that on a PC
"Lamborghini engine sound mod for rtx 3080 ti"
Intel Bugatti W16 cooler
Dude if someone could perfectly emulate a 90s hard drive CPU and Hard Drive crunch sound I would install that in my modern computer
That would be fun for 5 minutes until it becomes annoying
actually its funny you say that. IN the early 2000s Porsche made a deal with a pc manufactuerer to make a gaming computer so everytime you boot it it made an engine roar.
I think it was them, or ferrari
no wait it was Ferrari
made by Acer*
In the mid-2000s, Acer started sponsoring the Ferrari Formula One team. And they also sold Ferrari-branded computers and peripherals! This is one of them, the Acer Ferrari 4005 WLMi from 2005.

I bet they're still using this for the race simulations
Mf be calculating a move to the hard tire on this
Even funnier because it's an Acer making it even more awful
Nvidia badly missed Q2 earnings
Guess my RTX 4080 is gonna be twice as expensive
nah it means they need to really get rid of 30 series cards before the launch so either that is delayed or they have to put out some big rebates
i'll happily trade in my 3060 for a free 3080/3090 if they have to get rid of it, remember that pls
Likely because of that crypto crash right? They were probably banking on the gravy train continuing to ride into the sunset
Wonder if their investors will hit them with another lawsuit
some part but mostly its just supply catching up into slowdown on demand
i'll offer them the 3060, $50 and three gumballs.
Even I would take that deal
with two rubber bands if they wrap it nicely
i can make them, sure
We need your dental data to then sell it to odontologists so you get daily mail about new teeth implants
that's ok i have multiple e-mail accoutns
Hey we don't care what happens to your email, as long as we get the profits of selling your data
Capitalism 101
Lol 3090s going for 1250€
here they still go for €1500+ unless you buy second hand
Overpriced
my 3060 was ~700, and it has 30% less performance, i can live with that
Well yeah 1250 is still overpriced unless you really need the memory
at the time the price was 1500-2250
now 3080s go for 800 here
it's funny how most of the market leaves mid-level components in the middle, cheap out if you are poor, go full hard when you have money and need a beast pc
low demand equals good prices
even a 1080 TI was like 500+ secondhand
turns out my shitty old radeon rx 580 from an old pc is still worth 300-400, mad stuff
Ngl I really underestimated my RX 5700 until a few days ago
wasn't there something about evga selling its 3090tis for 1k usd?
Hardware Unboxed compared the RX 5700 to 2060S and 3060
5700 smashed those out of the park
So to even consider a new card an upgrade I kinda have to get a 3070 or better
Aye, I do wanna replace my 5700 as well.
I wonder how are the local prices anyways
though I would go with whats coming out new, not a 6000 series or 3000 series
As expected from a retard special needs person
no need to be hostile from the get go
@mods omg he called me slur
on that note : nvidia drivers will be useless to me on my end.
I did not
xD
What would you need Nvidia drivers for?
If you don't say CUDA I won't take you seriously
game compatibility and performance patches
What game is incompatible with AMD?
yeah
Performance patches are also on AMDs side
I'm responding to what u need Nvidia drivers for
without drivers its useless
like. its confusing when you say compatibility
well yeah but surely we're also talking the cards too
either you dont mean drivers or its a joke about not needing nvidia drivers on an amd card
please can someone do this and turn it into a meme?
What
running nvidia drivers on an amd card or vice versa
Wouldn't work, obviously
Or, maybe
I mean AMD does have some kind of compatibility patches to emulate CUDA
More to do with Nvidia being poo heads when its comes to closed environment software being unfriendly outside of specifically made ones.
when i was a noob a few years ago, i got a 3d screen with nvidia 3d tech, and using an amd card - it ran
yeah but without any driver your nvidia card wont work so it still makes no sense
but it was suboptimal to say the least
Wouldn't be using said drivers if I had an AMD card either.
so the sentence was just a joke about not needing it on amd cards or what
sorta. I'm hoping I wont need to use nvidia's proprietary drivers. I can use alternatives.
I don't know what the next line of cards exactly have to offer so I wouldn't know which ones I'd get.
So I could go for an AMD card or Nvidia
but if I go for an nvidia card and the official drivers don't work for me, I'll have to use different ones.
yeah personally i will just run the 3060 for a year or two just to see how the market goes
i dont run any extremely heavy games on ultra quality anyway, i just go for graphics to win 😅
People that bought the 2070 super still have frownie faces
I wouldn't say they are redundant cards
ok discoprd on my phone is bugging i cant type and its sending random messages
they are for enthusiasts
buying xx90 cards is stupid cuz you're better off saving money and getting next gen's 80 card each time
instead of 3090 then having to skip a generation cuz u broke
Some people just want best of the best regardless of the cost. that or showing off. one fo the two.
1060 was shit
GTX 1080 I would say was redundant compared to 1080Ti
1060 - godly. yeah idunno about that
1060 is the most popular card for a reason
1080 ti was insane
Sushy is like a rating oriented talk show host
1060 was suitable and works well.
Debating Ben Shapiro?
yeah cuz good value for money but it really wasn't good
imo 2060 is a even better value for money
always keeps the conversation hot, even if there is no reason for a debate
but the whole next gen was better value for money is dumb, some people can't afford to wait around for years to get a gpu lmao
TBF if you want the best of the best, 3090's are still funny if you look at the 5-10k videocard range
aye
those aren't for gaming tho
i'm not sure how that went, but i know about the Nvidia Quadro RTX 8000
you can play games on that, NP
what do you mean "arent for gaming"?
they are made for heavy designing purposes
oh you mena quadro cards and firepros
like 3d rendering for high end architects
just cuz u can doesn't mean its made for it
eh, that enters would could shoulds
playing games is basically using this card on a low power usage, but you'll never have an issue with gpu not keeping up lmao

Yeah its not made with the intent to heavily play games but neither is the rock that was simply just laying there used as a hammer. WHat matters is the intent and usage of it that we put on it.
also those are the cards that literally used in the production of said games typically*
wtf who's this guy
did hardware unboxed guy change?
bruh idk i dont watch thewm too often but i've never seen this guy
i usually watch monitor reviews tho
yeah but nowadays in a hospital even a simple bandage is €20
Very good price
and i'd consider that cheap
hmm yes ill take 4
excuse me what?
i've never bought a bandage in my life but i'd expect them to be like 1$ for 10 or sum
everything is very expensive in medicine
depends on the location and the buisiness
Threadripper Pro 5995WX is 6.500$? That's actually really good pricing
Compared to what Intel offers
64 core goodness 😛
amd only focusing on cores
hey you can't win all the time 😦
when i hit my thumb and had to go to hospital, it cost me €324 to sit in the ER for 2h, wait to have a doctor play with my thumb to consider it not broken, wrapped it in a tight flex bandage and left
i have never even thought about using anything other than intel+nvidia in my personal pc tbh
That just speaks about how worthy you are to even have a conversation with
bruh
but that is in NL, alot is insured but ER generally not, unless you want to wait for the weekend when the physician opens so they can send you to the hospital
Like no kidding, talking to you is like trying to prove to an Apple fanboy that Apple is a bad company
I have a macbook and i'll probably get an iphone cuz all androids suck atm but i still don't like apple
i like the products tho, especially the hardware. software can use a bit of fixing up
why do all androids suck?
i have an iphone because i don't like google, i don't like microsoft os, so i just took apple because the os is decent, none of the companies are saints anyway
all android suck
main thing from keeping me buying an iphone is the software
By saying that you are just proving that you have no clue what you are talking about
because?
and the best phone is a nokia 3310
like, are you tlaking the hardware phones or software?
okay let me rephrase
Android is equal or even exceeds iOS in features
there is no good 2022 high end android phones
both
high end defined as what?
... there are good high end phones this year..
some have good software but bad hardware
others have good hardware but bad software
its really annoying
what counts as "good hardware" cause that sounds bullshit to say there aren't any with good hardware
there's not no perfect middle ground like there used to be with oneplus for example
There is a perfect middle ground?
latest chip, sleek design and preferably nothing in the screen but i guess im asking too much and will always be a downgrade from my 7t pro
You can get a 400$ phone with a high end SoC and good software
Do you even keep up with android news?
If the nothing phone had a sd8gen1 it would be very close to what im looking for
just need a phone with high end specs and close to stock android
sd8gen1 is outdated
that new asus phone is also close but yet its lacking things like LTPO and shit
sd8+gen1 is far superior
@shrewd thicket latest chip as in... ? again what type of specs? what speeds how many cores how much RAM?
just syaing "latest" means nothing
there is always a "latest" every other day
8gigs ram+ (easy), sd8+gen1 apparently, must have A/B partition layout and good rom support
samsung phones would be good if they didnht have their odin shit and A only, no roms. completely ruins any samsung
Good way to update an os
ever since android 10 phones have a A/B partition layout for seemless updates
most phones have 8 GB of RAM, especially android flagships
so your claim about android phones is already bunk
To expand though basically double partitions
it also allows things like rooting without having to boot to your recovery instead each time
like normal
and you still didn't outline cpu specs
i literally said 8gigs is easy
since you refuse to do it, I'll go and do it for you hold on
thats not the hard part,,,
8 gigs is not cpu specs
no cuz i aint want miui
Would that matter if it has rom support?
SNAPDRAGON 8+ GEN 1
MiUI does have rom support, quite a bit afaik
cuz i want a good stock rom too
oxygenOS was perfect lol
Huawei?
LOL
Why would you go Huawei
u cant even unlock those
Pretty sure you can buy a code
nope
huawei stopped supporting unlock like couple years ago
Tf is that thing huawei runs
harmonyOS these days
Dude I don't see where the issue is Sushy. I'm seeing android phones with 8 t 12 GB of RAM and as for CPU I don't see what the issue is for them. What makes them bad in specs?
thats what im saying
Apple fever
there's no good phone for me rn
you said they were shit
i want something exactly like oneplus
where is the shit?
You didn't answer his question
then get a oneplus
you aren't answering the question
they literally even dropped the alert slider
@junior oreDo everyone a service and stop talking tbf
If you see a convo is leading nowhere, it pays to stop
if the choice was that easy "oh just get xiaomi xyz" i would've bought one cuz i literally get like 3hr SOT on my current phone
This is truth.
Just making ti easier to point out to everyone else though on the craziness going on.
It's Apple syndrome
Android lacks features, android bad that, android bad another
1440p display LTPO, preferably ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, at least 90hz+
bro i've been on android for years, still am what are u even saying
ur just hating to hate rn..
My phone runs higher than that bud
Yeah ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is only Samsung
yep
so whats your point in bringing it up?
Under display finger readers are not exclusive to Samsung
Android has that
ULTRASONIC
read
so stop acting like Adnroid doesn't
Ultrasonic Qualcomm is
you are literally the one hating for the sake of hating
You really like that saying when it carries no weight
ultrasonic fingerprint sensors are way more accurate and reliable
thats what i would want a ultrasonic for
Side mounted fingerprint readers are also accurate and reliable
yes but i find under the screen more comfortable????
yes exactky'
Then get one with under the screen, literally nearly every high end phone has one
it has nothign to do with your previous claim
i guess he likes the phone screen clean design, full glass plate
which you said android was just utter shit and didn't have good hardware
and now you wanna go with "muh finger sensor"
right...
i never said android was 'utter' shit
i never even said android was shit
android is literally the best mobile operating system rn but its ruined by companies like samsung who make a A-only phone, require odin and download mode and bloat their shit for example
a google pixel 6 has a amazing android experience
asus phones too
Lol pixel 6
If the hardware didn't suck
pixel 6 isnt good hardware
but thats what im saying
in the market rn
its either
one
or the other
uh, no.
It's not
there's shitloads of different phones
meh my pixel 6 pro does the job so I like having the good android experience
there is no "one or the other"
You can get hardware and software in the same package
its a fine phone
except not a package that suits me
lucky, mine is fairly buggy 😭 😭
samsung has good hardware but it has exynos chip in eu and terrible software
Even thought that "Maybe my needs are unrealistic"?
xiaomi is a lot better in the software department but still doesn't appeal to me
Import snapdragon then
I never had to think twice about my phone, just the next oneplus. until oneplus 8 released and it has all these issues and it's just been getting worse from there
Zenfone 9 is supposed to launch this month, that seems like a nice phone
what do you guys think of the brand Oppo? i hear it more recently
oh zenfone 9 thats the small one
Solid chinesium
Actually, innovative chinesium
yeah design looks dated and doesn't have a highend display
dont mind the sidemounted fps
but its enouugh for me not to want it
Oppo was supposed to have foldables and rollables first, before most companies
Eh...
They just have problems with either income or R&D
Their projects, however cool, just get cancelled
i've thought about buying a CAT phone just for the meme
Oppo 2021 was a fucking amazing project
oppo design is way too flashy and imo too targeted towards asian market
FLIR camera because i can
Ngl I was going to too
also, nearly indestructible
Thermal camera for the memes
can you fit that in any pants pocket other than sweatpants/jogging pants?
I got some big pocket pants but it will pull my pants down
if you start running with that brick in your pocket you're gonna hit yourself in the crown jewels
and it ain't gonna be nice

i signed up for oneplus years ago, didn't get picked.. got picked a few years ago but i lost the interest for android
wdym didnt get picked
you had to be selected to buy the oneplus
never had that
you had to sign up, get an e-mail to confirm you win out of the lottery, then you can purchase one with a direct link
It was when one plus was fairly new they did that
back on oneplus 1 / x??
yeah it was really new at the time
Where did the idea of rollables go and why are stuck with the problem causing foldables. It was way too shortlived
Samsung I heard is working on a rollable
Due to be announced in 23
Oppo's one looked amazing but I guess they failed on the manufacturing side
Fook
Oh no you did not

Or was it towards Vexxy?
I am so confused. And so is Austin Powers.
People underestimate how much owning a car costs by 52%. Even a cheap car costs a fortune to its owner, and yet another fortune to society. Let's compare it to some alternatives to show the insane real cost of cars.

@cursive summitany good mic cable suggestion?
or any is fine
mine rn is kinda fucked
why are 6 feet ones more expensive than the 25
something something scales of manufacturing
wait a minute
if the scarlett is usb, cant i just keep the speaker in the rear io 3.5mm

@cursive summit i m looking at reviews and most ppl say that for hd600 you still want an amp to go with the scarlett
btw do you know the btr5
Obviously
is the btr5 weaker or stronger than the scarlett
They are made for different things
ik, but like
I'd guess BTR5 is probably better for headphone audio
But as you can guess, it doesn't have 3 connectors for a mic, speaker and headphones
like rn with my btr5 at half volume and my ear is about to die, scarlett should be a cake walk right
its 650

i guess ill get the scarlett, anyway if i find it not enough i can just ooga booga and return it

amazon moment
imma go grab food, thanks for the help
ill be back probably for more questions later lmao

they convenient tho

man the btr5's nfc connect is so nice
I have always wondered what the appeal of the btr5 is?
It's too large to comfortably use as a Bluetooth adapter, and Bluetooth is kind of a waste if you don't use it portable.
(this is coming from someone owning a btr1k and btr3, where clearly prefer the 1k)
Feels like some awkward compromise when using way too hard to drive portable stuff.
I just have small ears so went for one of the smallest in ears and a Bluetooth adapter clipping to my shirt with a cable seems fine, though I may look some tws adapter at some point
I know anything bigger than a moondrop ssp could be problematic, in fact even that is on the edge
maybe, I already had the adapter though and at the time I also used them on my switch which did not have bluetooth support at the time.
I also find it kind of a risk to try something else knowing my ears are problematic in terms of fit.
so price was also a big factor
Oh yea, pretty much all bluetooth adapters do support those but somehow tws often do not.
Flacs make even more sense in that case as otherwise you would be doing a lossy transcode of a lossy format. Still in the grand scheme of things this all does not matter much.
On my previous microsd I encoded it to 160 opus
I have a script set up to convert it all so it's no big deal, I am also to lazy to filter out music I don't listen to, much more work than just blindly running some compression script.
There are probably gui's that do the same
Fair enough, anyway basically the script I used
it has a few edge cases on malformed flacs but other than that it worked great last I used it.
though I should still clean it up some day and upload this kind of stuff to a github
Hey guys, i have a problem. When my Wooting 60 HE is too close to my Mic i get a beep sound. Im using a Shure MV7X with a go XLR mini. Anyone has similar experiences and knows a fix?
ok ty
We regret to inform you that https://t.co/p142vD5X1A has decided to close down our online retail store and will instead transition exclusively to serving business clients only.
RIP
cant say im surprised
Whomst?
One of very few main PC retailers in the UK
Scan, Overclockers, Aria, CCL and Ebuyer.
We don't have big retailers here, just these companies with one place.
Overclockers are huge though?
Imagine not having alza
Well yes, im just sayign this was one of them in the UK.
Overclockers is prolly comparable to Mindfactory
Hell I used Overclockers half the time I shopped for shit pre-brexit
my last order with Aria
4 cores
7th gen. Fun times.
Overscammers is poo.
They even used to have their overclocking team trying to fest highest ocs and such but that’s no longer the case, also pc assembly price from custom components went way too up, used to be 17€
7th gen, the biggest rip off in the last decade
pretty much
What about 11th?
But Quin. They put them on an even BIGGER socket.

like half a year before 8th gen and no real change from 6th
even rocket lake at least hat new pcie gen and different memory controller and stuff
but yes very similar in how little it added
Hmm true
Just got a Artisan Zero to go with my 60HE 🥳
A what?
I always thought that kaby lake lasted far longer than how much it actually did
i7-980 released in 2010
2022 we are about to reach generation 13
Just about a new generation every year
These things feel like they are much older than how much they actually are
Ah yes somehow Sonos patented that
@digital cliff@cursive summit ive decided to get a shit stack
and maybe a seperate audio interface for the mic

Gotta love it when cryptsetup causes OOM events on a low RAM device
Also, holy fuck man the btr5 is so good
They make every random dogshit headphones sound better
Can even drive hd6xx perfectly
And the connectivity, instant bt connection to my phone the second I unplug it from my pc and vis versa
I honestly think it’s one of the best consumer audio product ever made
Small and light, 10h battery unplugged, 2 dac, balanced out

Like it almost look fake
It’s so small, compact, and light, yet it has all these features

It's not actually that small lol
It's one of the larger pocketable Bluetooth adapters
And driving 6xx is easy
The btr3 can drive 6xx from the unbalanced out
What's impressive is the btr5 can drive the er2xr
Name a feature the btr3k doesn't have
NFC
And that's out of single ended
It gets painful from the balanced out which is real sweet

The btr5 nfc doesn't work
And the 3 had nfc I'm pretty sure
I thought the 3k kept that too?
Btr5 nfc literally works tho, I use it all the time to pair whiles switching between phones

All android tho, no idea if it works on iPhone
I have never once used nfc for pairing devices
once it's paired you shouldn't have to pair it again
It’s only useful when you wanna swap between multiple device frequently
Aka basically useless

It just makes you go “oh that cool” on the first time
a feature that probably costs like a extra 10$ to implement
Been able to listen to the 6xx on the bed is so nice
Ok so the 3 had nfc
Then the 3k drops it for balanced
Snazzylabs has a full on amp setup on their bedside table

How about I save that money for food
Also, holy shit is the btr7 ugly

What hav they done
looks fine to me, it more closely resembles their high end daps
unlike the btr5 and 3 which resemble the lower end daps design like the m6
Imo they all look expensive, the 7 most of all
Speaking of I really need to acquire a ubtr just to know how anemic it is
Yea they also make iems lel
The K9 is pretty popular
https://www.fiio.com/m6
the 3 and 5 resemble the m6
FiiO--Born for Music
I’ve heard their small portable amp are also pretty nice

@astral haven do you think an eq for the shit stack is worth
depends on headphone
software eq is far more flexible
What?
Like buying a graphic equalizer?
.

Meh
Equalizer apo is your friend
eq apo and peace gui
No peace gui
Peace gui just makes it worse
it's far easier to do parametric
Waaaaaay too much garbage
Not any more
this is annoying to work with
You literally just add a parametric EQ and a preamp and that's it
then how would you do multiple devices individually
Like what could be the advantage of a physical eq compared to software, noise? Latency?
Physical units are for live and broadcast
I see
There are also full digital EQ hardware devices that you can use for speaker correction in the digital realm
All Atmos hardware includes that inside

But all of those add additional latency
Software EQ on windows is part of the buffer
As long as your latency in eqapo doesn't hit 10ms there's no additional latency
eh osu is negligible when it comes to eq's latency
Being off by 10ms can be enough to really kill your acc
I play with a eq it all the time, not noticible in the slightest
most players use visual reading than audio reading too
10ms is definitely extremely noticeable
If you add a vst that adds 10ms of latency (not possible with apos) you will notice your ur jump a tooon
and osu's judgments are forgiving enough for that much latency
I use 99% hearing, I don’t look at the cercles at all lol
And esp if you are playing hidden
It's huuugely important in timing
The thing is eq apo uses windows's built in sound effect layer
Yes which is why it can't actually add latency
What switch do y’all use for rhythm games
If the processing time overruns the buffer, your audio skips entirely
lekker
Lekker
used to use flaretech reds
Wha the heck do you expect here lmao

I used to use gat clears
Kailh box white with the click spring removed
Perfect weight, amazingly smooth and good bottom out and actuation distance
I used to use speed silvers quite a while back, those killed my finger control
I can my 60he next month so it will some time to get used to them
still recovering to this day 😭
What killed my finger control was not playing since 2018 lel
lol
I find 1.2mm actuation “speed” switches incredibly shit
Cuz 4mm bottom out, good luck with the reset
I really want to put like a 35g spring in my keybinded keys
my speed goes up by like 20%

cherry's silvers have a bottom out at like 3.6mm I think
You should try 22mm long 50g spring,, they feel like 30~g when pressing but rebounce much faster
Reason why I like box white is the 3.6mm bottom out and 1.8 actuation
Actuation still add the middle
The thing I need is speed stamina

isnt it nice to seem intel be consistent? just not where you want it sadly
both intel and amd has had these issues though
security vulnerabilities and all that jazz
AMD has a lot less of those vulnerabilities than Intel though
nah this isnt specter or such, different part of the chip
still, fuckups happen, even amongst the big boys
or rather especially among them, smaller companies slaving obsessively over every detail typically shows in the end product rather than big corps only thinking about deadlines and profits rushing stuff out the door because the market has gotten used to it and expects it
I don't want to imply intel did a good job or defend them too much but imo its kinda surprising we don't see more problems and messups with products that's gotten almost incomprehensibly complex like cpus, gpus etc
well the difference is specter is a result of trying to make cpu go fast so stuff was overlooked and can be used now
SGX is a part of the chip that is made to make it more secure
Epyc has fewer users relying on physical security features
And significantly fewer deployments in general
The deployments they have are usually only gigantic and software defined
Intel is much more about built in accelerators and edge, so there are many more companies using them and thus there is alot more need for security with their devices
That's why people are ok with amd stating in a security guidance that they are not fixing several vulnerabilities where VM hosts can see client data
To that I counter: PS5
A similar exploit could be instrumental in hacking the console
Not as big as fusee gilee but still.
Don't know about that, openbsd users or manjaro users complaining on aur...
I like how openbsd is put in the same spot as Ubuntu
God
Source only is absolute pain
Shit takes like 10^43 years to compile
Unless its something very small
JuSt GeT a ThReAdRiPpEr
Compiler script: singlethreaded
I prob gonna fucking replace my proton-ge package with binary one lmao
huh, just add the switch to the script
there is literally no difference between building object files one by one or in parallel
Amuses me seeing people run make without any -j, shit goes sooo sloooww
Also when projects still use slow build systems where the configure step takes the longest
No
If you can run code as an administrator on the PS5 you have already won

Most shit doesn't take too long to compile (with special exceptions like browsers and gcc).
Compile time is also dependent on what settings you're using too. For example, LTO and things of the like will ruin your compile times.
If you wanted to speed things up, there's a couple things you can do:
- Run everything in a tmpfs/ramfs. Not always feasible if it's a large package.
- Use -jX (where X is num of threads + 1). No reason to be running stuff on a single thread (even on single core, single threaded, it's better to do -j2).
- Try using -O0. The runtime performance will likely be worse, but it's up to you.
- Also consider using -pipe. More details of this online.
- Don't select packages which are bloated. Seriously. Sure, some stuff is unavoidable, but most of the time, there's an alternative out there that does what you need with less.
I'm gonna stick to MSI packages lel
This AMD Ryzen 9 7000 box is soon coming to your local retailer We received a picture featuring alleged Ryzen 7000 CPU packaging. Although we have not been able to confirm this with other sources this picture is allegedly from an internal presentation at AMD. The packaging is for the Ryzen 7000 series, the Ryzen […]
Honestly I don't think the R7 5800x exists
Imo that spot is reserved for X3D
There is a massive gap in pricing between 7700X and 7900X, reportedly
Wonder if it'll be overclockable.
IRC the 5800X3D couldn't overclock because the connection between the chip layers couldn't handle it
Honestly, maybe
I want the 7800X3D and really wish I didn't have to wait any longer
Greymon reported that the IHS or the connection was substantially improved
Leading to a lot better thermals
Overclocking should be viable
So, we have Zen 4 6 core for anywhere between 200 to 250$
8 core Zen 4 for 300$
12 for 550$
16 for 750
500 $ for ultra fast 8 cores makes sense
If I recall the regular 5800X offered poor value on release, as you might as well have saved up for a 5900x or just downgraded to 5700X. A 7800X would've suffered the same fate, so replacing it with the 7800x3D right out of the gate would make it an exceptional upgraded over the 7700X, whilst leaving room for the 7900X to exist for those that want more threads
That's why imo 7800X doesn't exist
AMD is going with 7700X launch right off the bat
There is no reason to have another 8 core that isn't using 3D stacking
Just sad that the X3D launch is rumoured to be months later
But I really want an announcement from AMD on both normal and 3D CPUs
3D stacking is amazing tech that AMD can abuse rn to get sales and market share
The packaging process of X3D has been improved, which will greatly improve the heat dissipation performance.
294
vcache on launch no chance because a) more complex to make and costs more and b) masively eats into their margings since it means mroe wafers for just one cpu and its not an epyc that would have bigger margins
I never said that
I want an announcement, or acknowlegement that they are launching them
oh that we already know from the analyst day
during FAD they said zen4 launch this (Q3) quarter
Reportedly middle of September
And 3D is like, November at earliest
Since AMD is yet to have an event on Ryzen 7000, I wonder if they will announce 3D chips too
Or keep us in dark until later
Ngl one quite nice thing about Eve spectrum is the usb hub
if they do launch 3d later this year I imagine it could come during rdna3 launch perhaps
get zen4 out then go for the gaming crown in all areas next event
Yeah having a joint launch makes sense
dont think it will be at zen4 launch because why announce something that makes your other products look pointless for many people
well I guess it depends if they still only have one sku, if the 16 core will have it maybe, since that would be flag ship
if its just an 8core again I dont think they'd even tease it
Because people will end up double dipping. Get the 7900/7950 now and then the 3D version when it comes out.
There's a gap in the pricing, I think they should come clean and announce it
Yeah teasing stuff that looks like it’s gonna be amazing and then isn’t is just decreasing sales
People wouldn’t buy new stuff yet because sth exciting then the exciting thing would suck and they wouldn’t buy it either instead of at least buying the other new stuff
well amd would like that but its less likely to happen if they announce it, more likely that people would just wait then
no clue what this is about
AMD leaving non-x parts and 5700x for such a late launch in the product life cycle was probably a mistake
I dunno if they will do it again
Yeah, fair, it is a business after all
Consumer should always come first though 😄
Sad reality of capitalist world
Is there an utopia somewhere? Where would I have to move to get there
Norway
stock has been underperforming lately, had to sell
might buy in a bit once it gets a touch lower, a couple days or weeks before earnings after this year's initial GPU launch wave

AMD gang
What grip do you use, and are you comfortable with it or want to try something new?
Palm - Logitech G305, Roccat Kone Pro, Pulsar Xlite Wireless V2, Endgame XM1r, Glorious Model O/O Wireless, Zowie S2
Claw - Logitech G303 Shroud Edition, Logitech G Pro X Superlight/G Pro Wireless, G-wolves Hati/HK Gaming Mira
Fingertip - Zaunkoenig M2k (300 euros though), Xtrfy Mz1, G-wolves HSK, upcoming Pulsar X2
Ergo - Pwnage Ultra Custom Ergo Wireless, Pulsar Xlite series, Zowie EC2-A/B/C
Left handed picks (left-handed only) - Razer Naga Pro left handed edition, Logitech G Pro Wireless (removeable side buttons on both sides, can fill in one side and leave buttons on another for either hand), Logitech G903 Hero (removeable side buttons on both sides like G Pro Wireless)
Ambidextrous - all Razer Viper mice before V2 Pro, Corsair Katar XT Pro, Steelseries Sensei Ten (amateur performance sadge), Logitech G903 Hero (removeable side buttons like G Pro Wireless)/Logitech G Pro Wireless, Zowie FK2
Modular (swappable parts) - Pwnage UCEW, Xtrfy Mz1, Logitech GPW, Logitech G903
@vocal cipher
And lets not forget the legendary Zowie EC, S, and FK series 🔥
for me the palm section should be considerably higher
palm grip = hand exhausted lemme lay it flat
claw grip = My fingers became legs
fingertip grip = I wanna pull my mouse to move it
otherwise my wrists hurt 😄
yea
most people that initially hold a claw grip, end up with fingertip moving the mouse up
that's a more common case than gaming
or an aggressive reverse angle claw grip when moving the mouse down
Extreme claw club signing in.
there are some games where it's always action for a long time like overwatch

In those games I am usually holding the mouse so tight
I couldn't find a solution for that
or hybrid palm/claw
Xtrfy "sponsors" some of the best players in Apex Legends with their pog mice, like the Xtrfy M42 and MZ1 which are fingertip-grip designed. For extended periods I find those the easiest to main
they're not cheap, but not over-the-top expensive either
where chat
fingertip grip is like M2K I guess?
editing the mouse list btw, forgor some stuff
yes indeed
though, Xtrfy isn't insane
you can use a claw grip if your hands are small
that feels unreasonable for me but never tried
and palm is comfortable too, since its regular-sized
until you realise the mouse is 23g
my hands are big for my height
which reduces the fatigue of fingertip grip present on heavy mice
I will check the xtrfy
If I didn't buy superlight I would have tried those, I didn't see much to spend more money now
@vocal cipher edited
some superlight shape clones are the Zowie S2 (higher hump), and the HK Gaming Mira series I believe
worse build quality
Palm grip I find more comfortable on ambi shapes as well, so I put the O for palm grip
I was in between superlight and model d tbh, and model d shape was much more appealing to me but read so much comments on bad qc so went with superlight
early honeycomb mouse - creak creak
never used honeycomb
That would be the Xtrfy, and Glorious mice
and Pwnage
Pulsar is similar, but they utilise a pill-shaped cutout frame so different feature shapes
they can in fact do something like M2K but with more MX Master shaped
would still be less than 50gr
Finalmouse - :troll:
G-wolves HSK - I is M2K clone at 38g and 200 dollar cheaper
HSK image
ahah but that should be 300 dolar cheaper for the material 😄
M2K
true
although isn't the M2k just carbon fibre?
yeah
the hsk-plus seems try-worthy
wireless and 38 grams
side buttons too
but don't know about the latency and all
did you try?
When will we get graphite mouses?
all the people here with a steamdeck
Which powerbank do you use?
Havent used one yet..
but ive never been far from a power socket with my steamdeck either
going on vacation soon and I'd rather not be on the airplane with no charge
@pale sigil uses one that works well for him.
Apple is reportedly planning to switch the iPhone to USB-C for charging as soon as next year. Now, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also predicts that Apple will launch new versions of the AirPods charging cases as soon as next year. There are new AirPods Pro coming later this year, but the charging case for this […]
eu regulation did something lesgo
finally good usb speeds on iphones
with the realistic 40mb/s or so the lightning port supports... its nice to see usb-c
they might still do usb 2.0 over usb c :p
wouldn't put it past them
I mean mobile CPUs are getting faster
and i already hate them
I/O depends on how much battery life Apple is targeting
If it’s a pretty high figure either they’ll incorporate some acutely expensive low power tech that doesn’t compromise performance or make the USB-C port slower
idk how much juice u expect it to suck not to mention if u attach it to a pc to backup your 120gigs or whatever u have on ur phone it can charge while doing highspeed
USB-C might as well allow that, probs
what does that have to do with battery life?
they expect you to use airdrop so gl with that
Everything is battery powered in a phone
bruh cant use airdrop without a mac
yes but if u re not using the port it doesn't use power
Welp apple has always been sketchy
Perhaps they’ll market it toward action vloggers or photo editing pros who’d likely use the port a lot
unlucky
also my mbp only has 250gb ssd so i wont cram my phone onto it
apple and trying to lock you into their ecosystem name a more iconic duo
If that’s their tactic though, already shot themselves in the foot releasing the M1 iPad Pro with Thunderbolt USB-C
holy fuck why
why what
why do they sell something with so little storage
its a pure dev machine and i ordered a 256gb usb-c stick for storing data so the mbp can get wiped for clean state
wireless headphones for professional spotify listeners
as mentioned dont need much
nor do i have an iphone anyway
but sadly my s10+ backglass is seperating
probably from a bent frame over the years in a pocket
damn high end things getting worse and worse by the year
i mean it spent 3yrs laying sort of diagonally in my pocket
and its not loosely bouncing round
but tight against my leg mostly
so i can imagine its just slightly spend out of shape due to metal frame
I mean the phone is where it is supposed to be... I'd be a bit mad if something like that happened to me
eh im not too mad
its just very slight
and im sure bending it back in shape fixes it
if not i always have the option to just super glue it
LOL
oppo and oneplus apparently cant be sold in germany anymore in the future
why ppl buy phones without at least 3 years support these days is beyond me
I think its more about updates/OS support not warranty
software yes
Unfortunate
Huh
??????????????
well it is unfortunate
not all too interested in that personally cause well
I was hoping this years iphone would already use usbc
all apps i use require at most android 5
or newer
outlook is the only app i regularly use that would need android 8
security updates are nice tho
I am so out of date with Apple, I thought they are already on 14
that i agree with
15 i thought
16 is in beta
oh i thought they are on 14
14 comes out in like 2 months or so
@pale sigil which powerbank do u use for the steamdeck? does it charge fast enough to play while charging
but i hope u see why i dont get people like lana who need the newest android at all times
i just dont understand the obsession
I mean I am not one of those people and I can't understand them
my previous phone was an lg venture x lmfao that shiit is old
i always had sony phones
only got a new one from my xperia play cause it didnt do 5.0
needed that for bank app
sadly i somehow broke my z1, z1c, z3 and z3c
were all used luckily so no big loss
got an xz premium which i still have and use
had to upgrade cuz it just didn't run well anymore and sometimes I was scared I would miss important calls because of it
generally I try to only upgrade my phone if I have to
i only switched to the s10+ cause of the 1tb option and headphone jack which the sony flagship that year didnt have
the 1 yr sony didnt have it
same ill run my samsung till its dead
That may take long
My S10+'s charging port died was a crippling day
iPhone 6s Plus from 2015 still alive with some battery replacements
But also it’s crazy that it’s already been 5 years since iPhone X came out
so be it
that is indeed painful seeing as charging ports are always one of the harder parts of a phone to replace
im gkad i store most things in the cloud
Yeah, it was like 100 quid to repair it or something
ngl id pay that
I would have, but my parents offered to get me a new phone so I took them up on the offer
cheaper than a new phone plus i continue where i left off
although I got a pixel 6 pro so idk if it was worth it in the end
