it depends on your settings, if you have any. My laptop ... has too thin ventilation ports. In idle you don't hear them. But if you ramp it up then its certainl;y loud. but it's a GTX 1060 MSI Stealth. So it's an Old bird and needs new fans and maybe old fans is why its loud past idle.

Why do servers do this in the first place?
There are times when a server needs to forcefully close your current GUI. An example of this is when someone breaks a chest you are looking in. Due to a limitation in Minecraft there is no way for the server to only close certain types of GUI. As a result the server has only one option - close whatever GUI is open... even if it's your chat.
