No, because you reduce the difficulty of the end boss, but add the difficulty to the journey there, meaning the whole persistent dungeon (not instance) feels like the boss encounter. On one night you consider yourselves lucky if your raid force can clear some minibosses on the way to the bottom. Then persistence is rewarded after few weeks you reach there with great effort and get a shot at the boss.

Pretty much. Just perfecting the dance in a single room. Just memorizing one fight. Press button to enter for maximized battle up time. It's very hard sure, but still quite casual.

Time intensive is part of the hardcore, but it needs more dynamic gameplay and meaningful death penalties, i.e dying results you in losing xp or deleveling, and puts you back to square one. Pulling through dungeon needs those elements too. I'm bad with words, so I can't exactly say what it is, but when I see it or play it I know near instantly 😄
