Turmoil has terrible saving mechanism. Pc crash can cause last save to be unreadable… issue is that game seems to only keep one save and you can’t save manually, it auto saves so you can lost whole progress

Already tried turning on gamepad mapping override as I haven't yet found a game where keyboard input would play nicely with axes on the same key, but that didn't help.
Worse yet, even if I completely disable the controller in Wootility settings and unbind controller inputs in the game, the character still moves forward + left until I swap gamepad modes between xbox/legacy/off. But once I pass through a loading screen, the movement gets stuck again.
it seems that the game is cursed with detecting phantom inputs when a controller is connected, and even if I disable the gamepad mode, Windows still thinks that a USB gamepad is connected
