It's been such a phenomenal game and I just really want to continue the legacy of the ideas that game introduced

#

CnC is the godfather (I know, I know, Dune exists) of strategy

#

But Warzone 2100 was way ahead of its time, it introduced modular strategy

#

You don't just build the same units all the time (CnC, Ashes of the Singularity, Age of Empires, etc, looking at you)

#

You design your own vehicles and take them out for a spin

#

And that's always been what fascinated me with Warzone 2100

#

There was one more game I have seen that tried the modular aproach actually, it was called Sparta I think. It was also quite fun

#

Omfg I completely forgot about Parkan

#

Parkan blows any game that ever existed out of the water in terms of modularity

#

Man that's why I love old gems like these, Warzone 2100 and Parkan Iron Strategy

#

20 years later, they are just still the best strategy that exist

lol yeah; I had issues with the shader too
after a bit, everything went black, then the blocks started working but the sky was all sorts of funny colors
I should maybe try again now to see if it's still borked, but maybe now that my GPU's had a break it'll be a little better
