From what I know to some extend nvidia would be much faster in pure ray-tracing but is relatively speaking more bottlenecked when other parts of the gpu are used.
Amd should be more capable of combining mild ray tracing with heavier use of other gpu effects. Considering consoles have a similar setup, it would not surprise me if as time passes nvidia will be less advantaged.
Games using lighter ray tracing but heavier gpu usages elsewere.
