I find that nowadays DoF is pretty good in most games, mostly in older ones it was pretty dreadful, often overused and focussing on the wrong things.
As for film grain / chromatic aberration, I really do wonder why it's included in some many games.
It just makes it look worse most of the time, if it fits the theme there are better implementations.
