The problem with optane to me mostly seems it's a product in search of a market.
Sure slower much larger persistent memory can have it's benefit's. but the cases were optane is fast enough, fast ssd's are too slow, and memory is not large enough are pretty limited.
As for optane as storage drives, it's just simply not needed most of the time. Price will always be higher than nand, and it will always be much slower than dram.
maybe, a use would be fitting it a bit of optane instead of slc cache on ssd's.
In terms of volume that would probably only be viable if it's rolled out for everyone to buy and not just for intel's use. Intel just is not a big enough player on the ssd market.

Most reasonable people will see though the quicks and bugs and if cdpr reacts quickly and accordingly. Looking at their promotional material, it is for me clear that the main important skeleton of the game is set and will hold. Also a motivational force is that most revenue is the sale of their games.. so they want cp77 to perform. Especially when they want to move towards and two team, two franchises model. like mentioned in the Q2(or Q1) report.
