Had a frustrating issue with RE9 where suddenly my fps dropped to around 2 or something making it unplayable. I walked to the save room thinking it might be fixed by having the game unloading the bigger areas but it didn't. Only way to fix it was to exit the game completely. This is a very bad bug because when I play on classic it means I have to waste an ink ribbon just so I can exit the game without losing a bunch of progress

I think this has to do with how the game loads and deloads certain areas

My fps would usually just go down to 30-45

Besides that my experience gameplay wise has been good, re9 feels more like resident evil than 7 and 8 did

||The things you do as Grace DOES effect leon and I assume so vice versa. I absolutely cleared the first part of the game as grace leaving leon with not much to pick up or fight . also I took some of leons upgrade charms as grace and I don't think i can just give them to leon.

Just finished

Game didn't count my deaths for the final stat but if I were to guess I'd say I had around 10 deaths or so

The daycare at the start was easily the best part of the game. It was scary as Grace since she's so weak with little ammo as well as using ink ribbons (classic difficulty is clearly best). It was fairly linear which is unfortunate but beyond that it was pretty great. ||Raccoon City was a terrible part that felt like it took forever. It only got entertaining towards the very end of Raccoon City.
The final area in the game was a step up from Raccoon City but it wasn't particularly good or memorable and wasn't anywhere near as interesting as the daycare. It's a shame how the game started off quite interesting but then just plummeted like that||

For example if the original 0 had a mod for co-op then having 2 players go around solving puzzles and looting simultanously would make the game dramatically shorter. So a remake would need to make the game quite a bit longer. The problem here is that if you then play the remake alone it might feel too slow

Yeah you control both at the same time

Right joystick moves the secondary character, left moves the primary one

but you can just have the secondary one follow behind the primary one

The secondary one will shoot even when not controlled. You can also split them apart and press a button to change over to one and the other. Many puzzles require you to get one character to a room then the other character to another while you switch between them to do this and that

Definitely has potential as a co-op game for a remake

If you try it with unlimited ammo and RPG on casual difficulty should be easy. Just ignore every pickup

I always find it weird how games like these are showered in only high praise by major outlets. How come there are almost never people that just disagree or don't think it's a masterpiece? I genuinely think that one thing that has affected game journalism is fear of backlash

For example if I worked for IGN and was tasked with reviewing Elden Ring when it came out I would not have given it more than a 7 which of course would have gotten all the people so upset that I genuinely think they wouldn't even publish my review

It feels like they pick people to review the games because they feel predisposed to like them or something

@buoyant osprey I might be able to get speed demon, under an hour and I already made it to the care center basement. Was originally trying to just get the achievements for not using the blood collector and not using any heals but my current time is pretty good and very much on track to beat it in under 4 hours

More worried about the parts after the care center

Well it was my first replay. I'll do under 4 hours on the highest difficulty with unlimited ammo instead

This one was without ever healing or using the blood collector so I did get over 70k of those points
