The Ai in ark raiders is still kinda... cringe as the goal is just to save money and "make content quicker" and the quality of the voices is just bad. They also did use it for animations and enemy pathfinding but for that it actually worked well.

And sure, they used AI voices to save money. That isn't wrong to do. My understanding is that the contracts with the voice actors specifically stated their voices would be used to train a model
