Lighting is fucked in the game either way. Lights don't carry far enough and gradually, and end up being strong lights in a super concentrated sphere.
Khajiit night vision doesn't brighten up the darkness in any way and is functionally useless without some lighting mod fixes we don't have yet.
TLDR; Can't have dark indoor lights.
