Well, having played Stalker 2 for a few hours, I think I am quite aware of this thing's problems

On my RTX 4060 laptop it's surprisingly decently running, medium settings, FG on (which I can barely notice)

Noticeable problems are what I can only describe as memory leaks as when you load a game multiple times, performance noticeably drops until you restart the game

Though the game is prolly the prettiest thing I've played in a while, stunning visuals

And A-life 2.0 seems to be borked and spawns NPC squads next to you to gank you

No noticeable bugs though, then again I'm kind of ignoring main story and just wandering around looking for stashes and shit

Are you doing much stealth? The biggest issue i've been seeing is that any enemy with a gun has x-ray vision

it feels like the only way to break enemy LOS is getting far enough away vs getting to cover

Somehow crouching behind objects just doesn't really work and they can still hit you or it's bullet penetration

But eh I don't mind it, I got a brand new Stalker game in more than 14 years to enjoy

Mutants are insanely tanky to abnormal levels that really put me off

Grok that makes Stalker GAMMA has made a mod to fix that though, feels a lot better with the mod, fleshes though still seem very tanky

Also a bummer that there's no mutant hunting incentive, in the core games you could at least skin them for items to sell

Stalker 2 you can't interact with them in any way which is sad

Then they just throw a city at you with no real explanation just why should you care for any of the people. Design was just boring, story was boring, pacing was awful, combat was meh?

I am seeing the exact same traits from Avowed, 0 confidence in that game

Ahh yes, AMD is a bad choice for GPU while it's affordable to consumers. AMD supports FSR to all GPU's while Nvidia has DLSS as an exclusive and is more expensive... But hey, it's up to people's preferred opinions about hardware

FSR3 gets the job done, I'd say it's pretty much on par with DLSS now

My point being
Look at DLSS on/off comparisons of Cyberpunk 2077, even the official ones from Nvidia
You'll see that the off side has a lot of weird artifacts on the outside parts of the screen, while on side looks significantly better
That's because, apart from upscaling, DLSS is amazing when it comes to removing TAA artifacts
And that's mostly why people say game looks better with DLSS - but it'd look even better if devs used other types of anti-aliasing
