There is an UE5 game I am very excited for and that is The Joy of Creation. There was TJOC Story mode a while back on UE4. TJOC 2025 is being made on UE5. So Nikson moved from UE4 to UE5, lost over half FPS with the new game only looking slightly better than the old.

Thing is Starfield probably is the absolute best they can imagine, and develop for while sticking to the Creation Engine. The Engine keeps showing us that it's really not up to snuff anymore. To counter , the GZDoom engine although old is super simple, and well known allowing a lot of addons
The Creation Engine has struggled with performance issues since its introduction in Morrowind, where on the Xbox they had to restart the Xbox covertly to prevent the game from crashing during loading screens. Although some of the bugs have been fixed over the years, there's still a considerable amount of tech debt preventing the engine from excelling in an environment where engine's like Unreal have exploded in capabilities.
To sum up:
The Creation Engine holds the gameplay of Bethesda games back badly (as can be seen with how many load screens Starfield needed for planet travelling)
The Starfield writers hold the Role Play of Bethesda games back badly (As they can't really be assed to write branching pathways, or anything much really)

My only concern is that the games will be sold purely based on having hot characters and not having good gameplay. That's how gacha games were born and I can definitely see that trend move over to other types of games.
Stellar Blade can also be considered a good example. Not a bad game by any means but if you compare it to others in the genre it falls behind very quickly.

Well the thing is, it didn't play terribly, it wasn't bad at all when it came to the raw mechanics like shooting, abilities, movement etc. The gamemodes we kinda picked very poorly for what the game was.
If they marketed the game, which requires having something to market keep that in mind, I think the game would have lived.

I am definitely not getting into FF. I decided to give 13 a try as it was on sale and I have seen some locations that looked really good.
The start was promising and Lightning is actually a likable character. But then the game quickly abandons her and makes you play as your typical FF cringelords.
Not to mention that even tho I am 2 hours into the game, I can still only mindlessly spam basic attacks and use potions when low. Those are the only moves available.

Stranger of Paradise tried to do things differentely and that's why I was so interested in it. But no, the dialogues, the endless cutscenes (90% of which are completely irrelevant to the story) the terrible pacing and janky combat is all there.

Based on what I have seen on FF16 from videos the story and the way characters talk is structured the same way.
I don't know how to describe it but I think you do understand that the way everyone talks in FF games is just the peak of cringe. The grunts, the weird pauses between sentences the constant "hmmm" and sometimes the thing they say just makes absolutely no sense.
