Sandwiches were neat in S/V
Liked it better than in Legends Arceus
One thing tho i have ptsd from shiny hunting an alpha shiny zoroark for like... way too long
And then after i got it they made a new patch which made them easier to get
I was annoyed af
"skill issue"
rng issue
it is your lack of skill in coping with RNG, knowing full well how rare what you were after was
You peeps play completionist?
nope
I have things to do with my life
I always love inventing little sidequests, but shiny hunting is too much of a time waster
I think the only game I've 100%ed was fallout 4
Yeah i 100%
Person of culture
and none of those achievements are hard to get
@barren pewter I just saw something... cursed
perhaps time consuming
but most of em you'll just get by completing quests
Pokemon games are like the only games i full on 100%
@feral ferry if you want we can trade for dex completion if you're still around when the game releases
Unless you dislike trading but i find trading fun
I prolly won't be able to even trade cause I will always just homebrew my Switch
I hope Switch 2 has a security exploit
I havent dabbled into switch homebrewing
I do have the lets go edition which i know is old enough
There are homebrew guides
the only one I struggled with was simply "Sugared Up"
and that's just killing 40 nuka world creatures under the effects of a nuka mix
Unless you are really dented, there's virtually no chance you'll fuck up a homebrew
I play online with nico at times tho and don't feel like getting my console banned
Then don't crack it
Seems like a waste of money since Switch 2 isn't ways off
If you enjoy modern pokemon, you have no self-respect and are a furry
With the 3ds i had gotten myself a pikachu ddition new xl and had jailbroken my og
So vex is a furry
I'm a furry with no self respect but you knew that already
See it checks our
@feral ferry omg we're twinzies
out*
Die
OWO
Couldn't care less, old fart
I always wanted open world Pokemon, and the new ones are great
Agreed
Mkil is just a boomer
That hates people having fun
Twinsies indeed
Yep
No vex has been converted
Vex is a furry now
milk boy said so
milk boy needs to visit the priest for another batch
I played Gex a LONG time ago, barely remember it
Don't even have the CD anymore for the PSX
I didnt expect that joke holy shit that made me laugh
You made my gfuel go up my nose debs you meanie
dont make me laugh while im drinking
skill issue
You have a drinking problem
So he is a furry
Just gotta turn on the light
You're right im addicted to caffeine
Make sure to spay or neuter him

Great
No more cancer in steam workshop
Meh, VPNers will still be annoying
There goes a good chunk of cs's playerbase
Interesting
But the majority of Russia's income is from Russian scammers on Steam
This will kill their economy
I guess you'll have to do like Venezuela and starting on RuneScape
Good riddance
as if everything else hasn't already
Lol
turns out putting most of your most capable workers into a warzone and scaring away all the educated ones is really fucking bad for an economy

who'd have thought?
Huh, what
Already?
I guess 2D isn't everything
oooo new video to watch later
ah yes...not to make fun and enjoyable games, just games with hot woman in them...
What
Me when the strong female protagonist has hair on face
I have no clue as to what that is
That’s all well and good but seriously
This doesn’t help me in figuring out if I should care
boops back
Huh
Well that's not happening
Yuzu just doesn't facilitate piracy lol, fuck yourself assholes
Legally they just don't have a case
It's not sold, it doesn't give you software keys
looking forward seeing them waste time and money then
time that could be put on releasing actually polished games
and developing a new goddamn switch
Well let's be frank, this is the legal division
And prolly some execs
Games or hardware aren't impacted
probably the most well funded division at nintendo these days
They forget to mention the part you have to own your own Switch
I guess I'll download the latest version of Yuzu just in case
Ryujinx doesn't seem to have been impacted
Holy moly Yuzu is making racks, 40k per month on Patreon
They can defo afford a legal battle
I LOVE NINTENDO
why?
I hope they show those pesky pirates whose boss!
Bad bait
pirates = TERRORISTS
@feral ferry I like emulation but idk i always feel iffy about emulators existing during a console's shelf life
Not illegal
I know
I just find it morally iffy because lets face it, most who will use it will not own the console
You have to own it to use it
Not illegal
Or you can just commit piracy but that's not Yuzu's fault, they don't give you the tools for it
Homebrew isn't illegal either as long as the tools to load pirated games aren't coming preinstalled
I know
But some people sadly circumvent all of this
There's a pretty big piracy community surrounding yuzu and i know people who don't own a switch and have used it to play games
It sucks because at the end of yhe day it penalizes legitimate owners who just want to keep their game library on their pc
Ok, and there are also hundreds of thousands of homebrewed Erista switches
Or play their games in a different way
I'm not saying yuzu shouldn't exist
Making that clear
Homebrew is known to also attract mostly pirates, does that make it illegal? No
And that's all that matters
Nintendo does not have a case
Case closed
I'm just saying how it sucks how people use emulators like yuzu for piracy
Gives emulation a bad rap
When it's a great tool
If emulators exist all of them will be used for piracy?
Yuzu isn't a one off case
It just so happens to emulate one of the most popular consoles that exists right now and is alive
And they do it in a far cleaner way than Dolphin did, Nintendo legally has no case
Yuzu don't even provide the firmware and keys like dolphin does
no
Or about if nintendo has a case or not
You don't really make much sense tbf
I'm just saying it sucks that shitty people ruin things for honest people who want to use emulators legitimately
"people use emulators like yuzu for piracy"
Same with homebrewing
Well yes, they use all emulators for piracy
That's how that works
And all homebrews lead to piracy
Don't even need a homebrew to crack Denuvo or SteamDRM
Like i love emulation and i love modding my consoles my modded 3ds is an amazing little machinr
This is just Nintendo trying to be intimidating, and I sincerely hope they get their asses kicked and emulation wins
there is a huge number of people who can't afford a switch + games, not everyone pirates because they're dicks
If you can't afford it don't play it
If Nintendo does go to court and lose = emulation will have a way stronger legal footing
So in a way this is a good thing
I don't go shoplift a physical copy if im broke
Pirating it is essentially the same
owo? Emulation?
I understand if a game is innacessible in a region
Yuzu is getting sued
Or for translation mod roms
But piracy i've always thought it was iffy
wrong, stealing a physical copy means it's gone, playing a cracked game or emulating does not mean there are any fewer copies in circulation
That is the most braindead argument to justify piracy i've heard in a while
Mental gymnastics
"Braindead", there you go again
Of course big corporations want you to think piracy is stealing, which is not
It's copyright infringement, nothing more
not really, you compared it to shoplifting which it isn't
If it doesn't exist, it's not stealing
Just saying I've never been confortable with the concept unless it's something I own a copy for
your choice
Also Yuzu lawsuit doesn't make sense
You can't decrypt their games with Yuzu, you have to own modified console to do so
It feels like stealing to me, all work should be compensated
I was going to say this initially but I didn't want to say it, and tried to stop you before it
It doesn't really matter here how you feel about emulation and piracy
But hey everyone has different views on it
Nintendo doesn't have a legal case, they will lose
I do hope yuzu wins
Now pile on Nintendo
Wait, what about Ryujinx then?
Not sued yet
oh nintendo going after people who are doing nothing illegal again?
better give them more money
Prolly trying to make an example
Which is funny cause Yuzu aren't poor, they get 40k monthly off Patreon
They will fight and ironically? Nintendo just lost a major battle here
The whole emulation thing is legally grey area
If Yuzu wins, emulation has a new legal ground to justify its existence
Technically there is a previous ruling on it
20+ years old, doesn't matter
Sony Computer Entertainment v. Connectix Corporation, 203 F.3d 596 (2000), is a decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals which ruled that the copying of a copyrighted BIOS software during the development of an emulator software does not constitute copyright infringement, but is covered by fair use. The court also ruled that Sony's PlayStat...
New tech, new circumstances
True just pointing out the grey area in which emulation stands
If Nintendo gets their asses handed to them by one of the most clean emus out there, oh god it will be a day to behold
Not much legal precedent besides this
Eh, emulation should be fully legal
Only matter that you own legitimate copy of software, as for on what hardware you launch it, it shouldn't matter
Which is funny cause Yuzu requires you to own 3 personal copies of: Software, Hardware, and games
None of those are distributed by them
All of em have to be, in a normal scenario, taken off a personal Switch
Dolphin bypassed the keys part and I think also a software image, you only needed a game file
Yuzu don't work without hardware keys, system copy or a game dump
Nintendo isn't winning this one
I mean technically it can pull firmware from cartridge image, but yeah, as far as Yuzu is concerned, you need a Switch and legit game to play it on emulator
last i checked you can just download all of those and yuzu doesnt check you dumped it from your systems
idk if you can condense it to it doesnt distribute them so its clean
Switch doesn't check if you are trying to homebrew and somehow actively prevent that either?
That's not a legal precedent
Sure, you just need keys.txt, nsp/xci file and can go to town
But it's not up to Yuzu to check if the software is legitimate
im just saying depending on how the lawyers and court go about this it can still end bad
Technically nintendo could just sue the users instead
this isnt some easily ended court matter
That will lead nowhere
Honestly i think it'd be better that way
Yeah... Especially with fleet of specialized Nintendo lawyers...
Just feels bad as someone who uses emulation legitimately
Yeah right Nintendo will open up millions of legal cases each with its own lawyer to it just for individuals to declare bankruptcy and Nintendo gains nothing
also nintendo never sued dolphin did they
despite them having the encryption key in sourcecode
on the web
I don't remember how that whole Steam/Dolphin thing ended
afaik they never sued any emulator
Nintendo asked steam to take it down
i thought nintendo took part in the sony v connectix thing
Does dolphin make money on patreon?
Dolphin seems to have new builds coming in so I guess Nintendoninjas didn't do shit to it
Maybe that's what upset them
no but they still distribute a forbidden number in form of nintendos encryption key
That... doesn't mean anything
Oh yeah, Nintendo and Sega
Makes nintendo more likely to be angru
Dolphin is legally in a worse area than Yuzu or Ryujinx cause of the whole lack of need for encryption keys
Since they can try to argue that they profit out of it
As if that matters
That's.. not how that works
Vex i know it doesn't matter
Crowdfunding is not legally considered as selling a product
I'm just saying it may explain why they targeted yuzu instead of dolphin
And besides, Dolphin is fully free and open-sourced
depends on how nintendo sees it. for them the wii doesnt make any money anymore and even official wiis cant go online anymore
let alone gamecubes
They could have went after Ryujinx and had a far easier time
Ryu is pretty similar to Yuzu in how it works
But has far less of a following
Why Nintendo decided to attack Yuzu who actually have money is weird
either way we can all speculate all we want. at the end of the day we will only know when the court ruled one way or another
Just being petty assholes
so...played DL2
...then went back to DL1...
why does DL2...not suck
but it is mediocre
😐
yeah...no kidding
DL1 is still one of the best "zombie" games I've played to date
even the DI and DI:R matchup doesn't best it
Everyone dies!
...what do you think I'm doing?
Do you think i can read your mind
nope
and frankly, I don't want you to ever do so
Question
the last thing I need is more restraining orders, or to be charged with "thought crime"
Why get a 4080 super if you never play anything particularly recent
For Minecraft of course
I just find the decision not to wait longer strange
I played DL2
Cyberpunk with the RT
Minecraft with RT as Calslock says
and STALKER 2 on the horizon
when stalker 2 comes out, I'll spend every free moment of my life playing that game for the first couple months
👍
Same
and for that
a solid GPU would be nice
I'm so glad you can piece together the whole puzzle
I'm super skeptical about stalker
I don't think it will be good
Been in dev hell too long
I just think the game will suck
whatever you say pumpkin
back to cleaning the bathroom with you
The fuck did you eat
Cheese again?
I haven't actually eaten anything today
yesterday...just some grilled veggies
I have some smoked fish in fridge
probably going to just eat that and drink vodka later
Ow...
Now I want some smoked mackerel
...omg that's a blast from the past
fish are meant to stay in the water
Not be eaten
Eat like beef or chicken or pork
I haven't had mackerel in YEARS
and my workplace consistently stocks spanish mackarel

If they're not meant to be eaten then why they're so damn tasty?
I advocate for Cannibalism
no mom don't feed me the nuggies from the other brand again
fish are ~~friends ~~ tasty sushi
I love sushi
tried that
it got boring
also think I got prions or something idk
not an organic mechanic
I actually have some bacon wrapped scallops in the freezer
figure it'll be an easier way for you to eat seafood than a cod fillet or something of the sort
just kidding
ALL MINE
I think there's a rotten onion in the garden from last year's harvest
all yours
What about the kitty
that's already taken care of
Is this a euphemism?
Is it?
I dunno
@maiden tulip
Cheaper than the loyalty discount lol
Yeah i think ima refund and buy it on GMG
- i can add my extra coupons
@still spire
I'd save like 8$ by refunding
Worth
It
Actually more
That's not counting my xp code
PS5 fans: "OMG, hifi rush is such a shit game that has graphics from the Nintendo 64 era"
Tango confirm the game is coming to PS5 next month
PS5 fans: "OMG this game is so much fun!! I can't wait for it to arrive on our favorite console!!"
Hifi rush is dope
Hifi rush is pure fun
The accessibility features were nice
I'm awful at rythm stuff
I really struggle
Bad hand eye coordination taping a thing with a precise rythm is like not possible
Saying he won't play sea of thieves on PS5 when it's released because you need an Xbox account
YET
HE PLAYS MINECRAFT ON PS5
Which requires a fucking Xbox account
So either he only plays offline Minecraft or he's bullshit
Lawsuit docs @feral ferry

Yuzu will be fine, right??
Nintendo don't have shit they can do legally I think
Yuzu are following all the legalities
chances are yuzu would win, there's quite a bit of case law and yuzu doesn't have any property of nintendo out of the box
You guys seen the stars wars game coming in march 14
The spilt screen is one of the main reasons ima get it
Literally
Ooooo
I wonder if you set the game resolution to fill both displays
Then would each player in split screen have their own display????
That would be amazing
Cause if the game splits horizontally down the middle
Aka
Better both monitors
Then that would mean it would work right??
Hopefully it works like this aswell
In the trailer it showed the split screen as duel up and down only
Technjcally yes yuzu is in the clear
But going by Nintendo logic
They are fucked
copy of prod.keys (that ordinarily are secured on the Nintendo Switch). Users obtain the prod.keys either through unlawful websites or by unlawfully hacking a Nintendo Switch console. The lead developer of Yuzu—known online under the alias “Bunnei”—has publicly acknowledged most users pirate prod.keys and games online, and Yuzu’s website provides instructions for its users telling them how to unlawfully hack their own Nintendo Switch and how to make unauthorized copies of Nintendo games and unlawfully obtain prod.keys. Only because Yuzu decrypts a Nintendo Switch game file dynamically during operation can the game be played in Yuzu. In other words, without Yuzu’s decryption of Nintendo’s encryption, unauthorized copies of games could not be played on PCs or Android devices.
Here is nintendo's argument basically
If you don't want to read through the thing
Hmm
Maybe yuzu are fucked then
Yeah sounds like they might be fucked lol
The court jury are gonna hear "unlawfully hack" and side with Nintendo
Cause they are all old boomers and don't understand tech speak
Also
Patreon profits spiking and TOTK being dled 1 million times before the game released
All being simultaneous
Yuzu is open source
It'll be forked
Yeah
It's pretty garbage of yuzu forcing people to pay for beta builds despite them being available for free on the GitHub
Can't use them unless you enter a code you get from paying for it though
@fading spade also came across this
The way i see it the patreon is what landed them in hot water and is why nintendo is singling them out
I wish Ryujinx wasn't so fucking good awful to get working
I have never yet managed to launch a game on it
Haven't bothered with switch emulation as well
Errors and shit even though I have the firmware and keys supposedly in the correct file location
Ryujinx has always performed worse for me, if it even works at all
Yeah that too ..
I only care about emulating mariokart though
Does that work on ryu?
@fading spade why mario kart in particular
It's the only Nintendo game series I really care much about
Other than the 2d Mario platformers
Me patiently waiting for paper mario the thousand year door remake
Ikr.... Plz
It will complete my duality of mario rpg and ttyd
Id only ask for mario & luigi remakes at this point
Also
Modding mariokart on yuzu is a few click process
Got a lot of custom tracks and character models installed
Remaked superstar saga, bowsers inside story, partners in time, and dream team would be so great
Is there a mod to make the camera less rigid to the player viewport?
The game makes the camera basically force your character to always be dead center in the screen even when going over bends and antigravity inversions
It's really awful
I never really had an issue with the camera in the og game
Both wii u and switch version
The camera in mariokart wii can lag behind a little as if reacting to the motion of your vehicle
Which is more realistic and less motion sickness inducing
Yeah i dont think ive seen anything about changing mk8 camera
I know what you mean though i always thought it hugged the center way too close
Yeah it does :/
Like it feels too close to the characters, its kinda awkward compared to wii and ds mk7
I wish it worked the same way that the camera in Distance worked
Neat
I love Distance 💜
Best racing game
Yeah, it makes it more dynamic, very satisfying
Like I would not be comfortable playing mk8 unless im like super far away from the screen lol
The only camera mods I found on game banana are freecam, first person and a mod that makes the viewport constantly spin for some reason
.-.
First person sounds fun though xd
:/ underwhelming choices
Custom modified camera would be a nice mod to just adjust yourself
Idk how to code mods for games ;_;
Oh that's two copies
I was trying to figure it out, I know the CDN is weak but was like shit
Those Dualsense features are on PC. 😛
Yeah i got one for nico too
Yeah all the "exclusive dual sense features" are available on PC what is bro saying
Where's my copy?
The cat ate it
Cats are always evil

@still spire
You have gummybears as teammates
They were delicious
Is there anyone who doesn't think Gummy Bears are pretty damn delicious?
Episode: "Tapping a Hero"
#RobotChicken #AdultSwim
@still spire i could justify the price tag for the battlefront collection
But the dark forces remake
Idk
Wait I had heard ir was 29.99
I hope the price will be less on steam as well i wanted to play it on steam deck
Same
19.99 would be reasonable
Let me check ss remake on steam
Also is it any good?
I remember playing SS... a long time ago
I had gotten a free key on GOG
As a gift
54.99 cad
It's alright
Hell wait
Helldivers 2 is 40$
😛
This here is 1$ less of a 20+ year old game
Close to 30
Sure they did a good remaster - if you don't have a 60HZ monitor
But way too pricey, even at 30$.
Helldivers is 49.99 cad normally
But i got it for 40 cad on greenman
greenmangaming is the goat tbh
I buy almost everything from there when possible
I buy wherever is cheapest, generally
Even so
Nightdives previous remasters were free to owners of the original
Star Wars license is expensive
So this time not free, but maybe if we got a Discountr
I played dark forces years ago on a ps1 i had bought at a garage sale for 10$ with a massive box of games @still spire
Lol
Never had a ps1 growing up
First home console was an N64 then i got a gamecube and eventually after annoying my dad by begging him to let me play halo on his pc i got an og xbox
I only got into pc gaming when i was like
14? 15?
Whenever the 3770k released
2012?
Pretty late
I got into PC gaming when I was 8 or so
Cousin burned me a copy of Diablo 1
Another thing is I used to play more on handhelds back then
i mean for most of my life i played on handhelds i just love them
Particularly nintendo handhelds cuz well
Pokemon
I'll admit my obsession
Plushies, merch, tcg, games,...
Like I wish I had more space to put plushies because well I love pokemon
And no space means no buying new plushies
Because no where to display them
The endless cycle
you mean OUR bedroom
No
We have an office room where we have our gaming setups
🤔 i could put up a shelf
idk i don't want the room to feel cramped
Have you thought about taking out the walls, floor, and ceiling? More room.
You should
probably
What if they come to life at night and kill you?
Ok but what if they kill Nico?
Damn
Man some people you get team up with got no sense of teamwork.
Don't evben bother to collect the samples 90% of the time

3 times I played with randoms
Everytime there was a dude with 30-something level attacking every single group of enemies they could see
It's fine usually, but sometimes you get people who are palying it like it's a solo game
Calling in resupply only for themselves, stealing other players things
Ignoring what the rest of the group are doing ect
Double-dipping resupplies
Triple evben
Also they were the ones to shit-talk
I mean... it's fine if you rush into the huge group and die, but be able to finish the main task
What's not fine is attacking every single enemy on map, you don't get more rewards out of it, but waste ammo and time...
havent had a lot of bad experiences so far
Every bullety itis one less for liberty
Either way I couldn't join your game Dashi, always gives error, only got time for one more map anyways
😦
Anti-furry protocol must be enacted by Arrowhead. Quarentine you from the general population.
Yep
🫡
Very wonderful of Arrowhead
I saw what happened to Vex earlier, it's already too late for him
I'm still allowed to be a helldiver as I'm good cannon fodder
The enemy runs from you.

They could add a small fix that if you already have Premium Warbond, but bought upgrade to Super Citizen after, you get 1000 super creds instead
I'm still on the fence of buying the upgrade, so I'm keeping my creds
Yeah it's a disappointing warbond honestly

This kind of sucks to be honest hate epic all you want but a big data leak of customer data is never a great thing imo.
Timmy must be worried about certain pictures being leaked
Nobody tell the hackers unreal source code is public on GitHub
Yeah... we still haven't recovered after Linux kernel source code leaks...
Good thing they don't have my payment information
I did buy at least one or a few games with a large coupon for very little.
To be fair, it wouldn't be the first time, but it's not something to applaud in general.
nope, but its Vex. what does one expect otherwise
Oh, Vex I have had no expectations, but he wasn't alone on this one.

Why are peeps saying this is a greed move?
They've done it for HoI4 and it's fine
Shit, Exterminator is expensive. Looks badass tho
Probably go for it, I mean you look like a Dark Trooper or something
So, in short, Nintendo gets all butthurt because Yuzu can decrypt a file... with provided key?
I tried to play HD2 with a controller cause of Streaming to a TV so my cousin could play on my laptop and we could do a LAN party, but boy it was too hard.
LIke I was utterly useless even on difficulty 4 😛
Yep!!!
Well, with a key the user must provide, for legal reasons
In which Yuzu encourage dumping it from your actual Switch
For some reason HD2 does not play nice with moonlight / sunlight streaming
It stops mouses and keyboards from working and also has weird ass slowdowns none of my other games had
Cannot recommend HD2 with a controller. Just awful 😛
To throw a grenade you need to press 4 buttons lmao
any game requiring manual aim of any sort kinda sucks on a controller
To which I have full rights, even if I were in US, DMCA allows for bypassing DRM for emulation purposes, that's basically what it is
PS5 players...I can't even imagine how they do higher tier difficulties
Like on PC I can 2 shot a charger with a railgun, on a controller such a feat would be way more difficult, nigh impossible I feel 😛
Yep, and Nintendo are like "NoOOooOOooOO, YoU OnLY ReNT The HardWarE FroM US, thE PriCE TO gET The SwiTCH is JusT A keY To Have ACcEss To iT"
It reads like the lawsuit is not against emulation directly but more about how it’s done, since they focus on the instructions yuzu provides and such
They still claim Yuzu promotes the use of piracy to get the games and firmware
.-. despite Yuzu very much not doing so
So if it goes to court it seems like the decision would be if they are liable of providing aid to the crime so to say and not that they are doing something inherently criminal
Pretty sure Yuzu saying "Do not pirate" invalidates that claim
Yeah, not according to Nintendo logic
if nintendo went all out against emulation they'd have to retire more than one of their services relying on it to run their old games
We've released updates for The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings on Macs. They include an improvement to stability when loading new zones in The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and a fix for face rendering in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings.
same can be said for anything.....
factories making knives aid in murders that use knives,
gun brands making guns aid in gun crimes
etc etc
no that is not the same
how not?
they are not saying emulation (gun) is always aiding in piracy (gun crime)
they are saying yuzu is aware of the usage and provides instructions on how to do it (gun crime)
Yuzu are not providing instructions on how to pirate lol
which is BS
Yuzu never promote that shit
they dont tell you how to do it either
dumping games you have paid for legally is fully legal
and thats not what nintendo is going after
Nintendo is essentially just claiming that it facilitates piracy
There's no real primary uses for Yuzu beyond piracy
Nintendo also points to a Yuzu Discord server where emulator developers and users discuss how to get copyrighted games running on the emulator, as well as publicly released telemetry data that shows the developers were aware of widespread use of their emulator for piracy
"the Yuzu developers brazenly acknowledge that using Yuzu necessitates hacking or breaking into a Nintendo Switch."
Nintendo's lawsuit makes extensive reference to the Quickstart Guide that Yuzu provides on its own distribution site. That guide gives detailed instructions on how to "start playing commercial games" with Yuzu by hacking your (older) Switch to dump decryption keys and/or game files. That guide also includes links to a number of external tools that directly break console and/or game encryption techniques.
Which is an argument imo, faulty and easily provable against

Yes, that's not illegal

Yes, that's not illegal
Modifying your console and dumping your games is not illegal by law
Should they claim it's not "your console"... We'd probably have another lawsuit then too
"Whether Yuzu can get tagged with [circumvention] simply by providing instructions and guidance and all the rest of it is, I think, the core issue in this case,"
Yeah the whole thing of moving away from OWNING property into "RENTING" is fucking annoying too
Or something like it used to be with Apple few years ago iirc
User does own hardware, but software is still property of corporation, so you can't modify it without committing copyright infringement
LOL BS
I am highly certain that Nintendo has no legal case here and this is their own blunder
Volvo meanwhile - do whatever the fuck you want, we will even give you instructions
In Japan, Nintendo would 100% win this case, since in Japan, they technically only licence the Switch hardware to people who buy it
We don't need to argue about if this should be legal or not since emulation obviously should be fine for your own purchase, but that is different from looking at what they are attacking in a lawsuit, no point in throwing out a dozen claims of what nintendo allegedly claims when they aren't
They arent saying emulation is piracy they are basically saying they have a case of DMCA circumvention and want to stop that
My guess is that it wouldn't happen at all should TotK hasn't been leaked 2 weeks before release
take the guide offline, problem fixed
well the guide(s) just one part of the issue
then there is the question of if the emulator was specifically made to circumvent drm, as well as the TotK issue of that getting a lot of downloads of people that very clearly didnt buy the game etc.
First one's easy - Yuzu doesn't work at all without providing necessary keys, and circumventing has to occur in some other way, be it modchip, CFW, etc.
I still don't see that Nintendo has any case whatsoever
I mean it sounds easy but im far from an expert in dmca law so idfk what needs to be shown for that to be clear
it's certainly not the strongest point, but it is an argument that isn't too far fetched
it would be interresting if it does go to court and doesn't settle
Yuzu merely provides a better platform to play your legally purchased games using the software of your legally purchased hardware, on PC/Linux/Mac
If anything Nintendo is crying they can't collect your telemetry anymore
And if they try argue that emulation is illegal, then stop adding emulated games to NSO subscription
they aren't even coming close to saying that so why are you bringing it up again
If they could, they would.. Since nothing happened yet, even thou they are pretty butthurt about it, they pretty much have no case to act on.
Sure but any could/would/should doesn't matter for the case at hand
Ssme with TPC vs. PW.. A lot of crying and barking, but no bite, cuz there is none to bite
I dont remember TPC doing anything there so I also don't see how that relates
Either way I find this new angle a worrying way to attack an emulator.
It could land either way, but I would say the purpose is not just piracy, even if it does benefit from it.
@grand locust so what games do u or plan on playing?
I play apex and a game called super animal royale currently, but I do want to try playing csgo at some point
I've played that a little but the abilities are a bit too much of a learning gap for that game style. csgo seems a little more digestible to learn strategy
Ok
I'm working right now but maybe sometime in the future
U can start with that
Sounds good
Let me add u real quick and we can play later today if ur free
Holy moly a SAR enjoyer,
I love playing their battlefield conquest mode when it pops up
I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I just met you so, and I'm not really here to find gaming buddies
It's on this week. You talking about sar vs rebellion?
Yep thats the one, i always forgot its name
Also I'm very surprised anyone here knows of it
How much have you played it @proper basin?
Honestly not that much since its launch, most of my playtime was during its first few weeks
I sometime play like 1-3 rounds every few months
So probably like below 20 hours i think? Most of my time has been sucked up by SMITE
Fair enough
gotcha, I played early on and then stopped for a while. Now I'm slightly addicted. There is going to be a respawning event around easter, which I'm hoping could change the game in a big way

$29.99
Oh sounds interesting, ill definitely keep a look out when that happens
GOG apparently gets a Remastered discount for owning Dark Sources
Not so on Steam
Forces*
Also annoying how Nightdives other Remasters are free for owenrs of the original, but not this. Stupid Star Wars license.
Haven't played any Star Wars games in a while, but I am very much so down for this
The Jedi Knight series were my favorite games growing up
Academy was a ton of fun at LANs. Just dueling with lightssabers.
I still haven't finished KOTOR 2. I had some mods corrupt my last attempt, and never got around to fix it.
Yeah, I played...a lot of academy lol
That multiplayer was the bee's knees
I think the last star wars game i played was battlefront 2 (the lootbox one)
And lego star wars
Battlefront 2 was also great fun in coop on Xbox. Just split screening with friends.
Yeah BF Classic collection also pricey. That Star Wars IP.
Jedi Knight Outcast was the first game I ever bought
My brother and I bought it together
jedi knight II jedi outcast
The short hand is JK:O and JK:A so Jedi Knight Outcast is perfectly acceptable imo 😛
I want this but I won't pay 30$ for it

@maiden tulip Lmao https://www.reddit.com/r/Helldivers/comments/1b26c8b/well_be_right_back/
imagine posting that much about one game :p
Imagine being in a Discord about a Keyboard ;P
tbh its one of the better games released recently
Yea gotta agree, made me wanna buy a ps5 just to play it, didn’t though
why would it make you want to buy a ps5 when it works on pc?
I thought it was a ps exclusive
Before i found out it was on steam
even then i personally would never buy a console for 1 game
I mean I did do that for FF16
I may have in the past, the one game can be the trigger, knowing it's not the only one you will play on the future.
i considered but na... just too much money for a one off thing
although maybe i shouldnt speak with the amount of keyboards under my desk and handhelds in a shelve
i love how borderlands 3 cant deal with 32:9 resolutions
Borderlands 3 is a silly guy
Never played it and don't particularly plan to. Borderlands 2's poor attempt at humor kind of turned me away from the series. + the gameplay is just not interessting.
I barely remember anything of all 3 borderlands games
Claptrap
Do you remember anything he said though
Not a word
I recall that it made stupid jokes all the time
But I do not recall the stupid jokes
This
Borderlands 1 came out when I was young enough to still enjoy it + relied more on abilities.
Hackers claimed to have stolen customer data from Epic. Epic found no evidence it happened.

I wonder if the truth lies in between.
what if they really just though they got source code but its the unreal git repo
that would be awesome
ooo Minecraft got a "new" UI
it no longer shows the solid dirt block background in the settings when in a world
oh wait
it shows the menu panarama in the background when not in the world.... fascinating
yeah wouldn't have caught my interest
Me
Literally
Found a wild @still spire while scrolling through steam community hub for star wars dark forces remaster
Were the other remasters really free?

M8ARE6846C7445C111
here's a GOG code for fallout 1
Whoever wants it can have it
Ikr
atleast they didnt cancel the other star wars games
What others lmao
They said they're "moving away from licenced ips"
Lol
the jedi series
the 3rd one still seems to be in development
I just really don't like far cry approach to games and recent assassins creed
There's nothing unique about Ubisoft games anymore :/
Did you play AC Mirage?
It was a bit more like old school ac
No rpg bs
Tbf nah I didn't
Skill level armor crap
It was fun
I'd have bought it probably
with how much fun i had
i get ubi games for free
From what I saw it just kinda goes back to the roots but doesn't do much to add to it.
brother works at ubi i get game keys from him
I'm a patient gamer so I'll probably wait
😛
Still waiting for Jedi survivor to go into the normal ea pass
That's fair enough
But yezh when you see mirage on a sale get it i guess
Or get like a month of ubi connect
Play and unsub
I haven't finished it
Epic does a really good Xmas sale with their voucher thing.
That's why I also waited
Back at launch
😅
I should actually play it now
I did the same for fallen orderz
Also i went from a 2080 to a 7900xtx in between so
Which btw
Better not be any issues xd
Fallen order had issues???
I don't remember the game being buggy
At launch it was plagued with performance issues
I really don't remember em
Maybe i just got lucky?
damn
@bleak pike what hardware were you running at the time?
did u do the double oggdo thing
FUCK THE FROG
haha
EVIL FROGS
Self Loathing'?
1070ti and 7700k
9700k and 2080
Guessing it's why i didn't notice
Just brute forced it lol
Wish the battlefront collection hurried up
Just got canceled
Exited for the game to come out
