Probably calling the bank ahead and arranging to ensure that one massive transaction goes through
Yeah, but still, up to like ā¬1000, maybe ā¬2000 limit you can set by yourself in banking app
think default on my card was 3k when I got it?
Just looked in my bank app
Couldn't find any settings related to spend limits
Banks serving US persons are required to report transactions over $10k to FinCen, as well as any transaction that is flagged as suspicious based on unpublished rules, as well as encouraged to report on transactions over $600
Maybe I gotta login on the website instead??
Idk none of us will know what your bank does where
Try cards section in your app
I have
They still go through instantly
"through" and "instantly" but yes
Eh, I wait till tomorrow, maybe it clears
Looks like Volvo actually prepared this year, still everything is in stock in EU
Never had an issue with it
I run 10k+ a few times a year via CC
Hit the confirm notification and it runs thought like a $1 charge
Sure, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's settled, and being settled doesn't necesarily mean it can't be clawed back
I mean any transaction can be reversed by the bank
Unless they empty the account to cash and don't care about the debt
The way money works is a rabbit whole of epic porportions
Yeah
Written in a language barely anyone knows
https://www.wealthsimple.com/en-ca/magazine/cobol-controls-your-money
Light bedtime reading
If it's two reputable banks they will return if you say fraud most of the time
But no guarantees
Credit card transactions are escrowed so that's easier
COBOL is cool, tried to learn at least basics, but it's so convoluted...
No wonder people working with it are earning in a month more than I do in a year
Learn COBOL and you're set for life. Simple fact there
welllll
The problem is with "Learn COBOL"
To be honest you probably make six figures learning it
I don't believe it to be possible to "convert" the amalgamation that is the global financial system
There are lots of examples of people making over six figures to teach someone on retainer
What documentation?
Likewe will pay you $150,000 a year just to answer emails
Meh
Named Game of the Year by over 50 publications, Valve's debut title blends action and adventure with award-winning technology to create a frighteningly realistic world where players must think to survive. BIGGER NEWS
Is this what they were working on?
If banks go full java i go full cash

Imagine they actually use Oracle Java
Sorry doing the garbage collection issue all of your money now belongs to the Central Bank of Zimbabwe
Oracle having a grasp over global financial systems? I'd really reconsider using that Elon's newfangled idea of X being a finance platform
Yeah Larry doesn't need more power
lol
Oracle and Microsoft both, most corporate entities on Earth, even Apple doesn't come close
See Elon just wants to be cool
and yet if I had to choose I'd take larry over musk still
easily overshadowed by oled release
He doesn't want world domination like larry
Mario in Dwarf Fortress? That's quite the crossover.
I'd play that
Steam is good
Only checkout side of things have problems
Still in
AT LAST!
Allow local game content transfers from a plugged-in Steam Deck to other Steam clients on the same LAN.
Days of copying from Deck to PC are over
new high score+
Are LEs still in stock there over yonder?
LE is US only
*and canada
That's why I'm asking, can't check
oh right, thought cals is american
Lol no, le pole
because earlier talk about america sold out but eu having stock etc.
north america basically
it died in my area, then came back to life
curious about the supply numbers
somewhat tempted to get one
Yeah, like for once Volvo actually supplied the stuff they want to sell, amazing
If you can get it still, then why not
I'd try to get it if I weren't doing a shell swap, since now the whole disassembly process ought to be easier
I want these two
def getting the anti glare
because i can switch back and forth with a screen protector
as wasteful as that may be
You can do that too with glossy screen and matte protector
I wonder if LCD protectors will fit OLED, I'm left with 2 more
the cutout is allegedly the same, so should be fine
Pff... anti-glare coating
Tis a job for 240 grit sandpaper
Fineness, the lower the grit, the bigger abrasive particles are
no need for coating if you just crank the nits up to >1000k
one million is a lot
Ah

Pizza Possum devs will wake up tomorrow to a nice surprise
Also Steam now seems to remember your controllers
Why wouldn't it show Steam controller though?
Ok that is... pretty neat
Looks... lackluster
Morrowind and Oblivion came with a map, and was only retail price.
Morrowind even came with a second disc that had - ALL of the game assets for modding needs.
Considering this one comes with a full physical disk?
I think it's worth buying just for that lol
BG3 has had hundreds of gigabytes of patches.
Having "data on disc" is... optimistic.
It's just a disc with Steam code on it
" There's the game itself, which comes on three discs for Xbox Series X/S, two discs for PS5, and a single DVD on PC - although that just contains a custom downloader app with an accompanying Steam key. "
Why are the damn console assholes getting a proper ass disk
Where's my data
The soundtrack is... nice? But honestly the soundtrack is already IN the game you already downloaded. Just let customers access this easily instead.
Digital versions of soundtracks are different sometimes
Well I mean standalone not digital
In game sometimes loops or shortened sections based on your activity
Not necessarily. But even then, just let everyone download the full OST.
Don't make it a weird exclusive.
Isn't it already a purchasable dlc?
Metal Gear Revengeance did so great with looping specific segments of OST
Doom
Inb4 Mansen says you don't need the character sheets cause you can just play the characters

I mean all their stats are in the game so you could just copy them down
Just like you could just sit in the game and let it play the music and record it lol
But yeah they're generally is some cost in packaging the music for a soundtrack standalone release
So it's usually a deluxe edition or DLC
I wonder if there's stock 5e character sheets already filled in or if they're in bg3 style art
Guess you have to print them by yourself
Did they stuff the character sheets to the OST DVDs?
That doesn't sound right
Game DVDs? I guess that's more likely but still, a bit weird
Email?
I have to wonder how those character sheets are done - Because BG3 has a -lot- of house rules.
Not that many
Character sheets are included with Deluxe Edition already
That's dope
Wonder if they give you the empty template?
It would have been really cool if I could pull out your characters from the save and print them
.-. id only get 238 Euro for selling them my Deck
I want the 90Hz and the better battery too
most of the games I play on the Deck run at 90Hz
Go work then, what are you selling the Deck for
I dont need two at once
K then it put it up for sale on ebay for like 350 or whatever
If someone buys it happy days
Fuck spotify man why tf is that so loud
raphael's final act yes sir
Not the first time spotify just blasts my ears with no volume button
one for home one for school ez
One for bed, one for toilet
the chapter songs were out before the game, old gods songs are coming, probably the whole game's soundtrack will be out later as well ? !?!
the music video for herald of darkness came out a few days ago too
actually yesterday
yess
very good
That's how pawnshops work
THATS MORE THAN A BRAND NEW ONE .-.
tbf you can get them on ebay for price close to that
Girlypop, the pawn shop probably doesnāt care
Itāll probably sell at that markup anyway
And yes, they intentionally buy stuff off of people at a lower price
They make money off of the resale
Yeah, people will pay more for not having to wait 2 weeks for shipping
Yeah, restaurants technically do so with the ingredients they buy
That isnāt the full picture
Seems to work for them
yeh....
Never sell through retail shops, try FB marketplace or some other local marketplace
I dunno if olx is in Ireland, I usually use it here for such purposes
been trying to find work for the last year and 9 months
and again, I must sellthis one, no reason for me to have two of them
Im literally not
Yeah, cause im shit at being social at interviews .-.
So, IT could work then
Have you seen their programming posts lol
yeah, I failed a few interviews for those for not making enough eye contact with the interviewer or not having a convincing voice
so yeah, they seem to give a shit about being social for IT jobs
Eh, even Linux basics nowadays will set you for some internship at bigger companies
Write Wooting an email for a job, if you have anything you can be useful for
And move to Netherlands or Belgium lol
Uh, no
Why'd you move before you have a position?
^
Just move there and go bankrupt renting a place if nobody hires?
^
Just call the boss, walk in on his meeting, request 1on1 and firmly shake his hand while keeping eye contact. That oughta do it.
You apply first, get the position, then you move
yep
^
job market velocity is such a different beast as well in EU than NA
There are always remote jobs too, don't have to move, don't have to deal with people
its harder here
That's why self employment is the best
jobs everywhere
Not unusual in Europe
literally not possible for me rn, trying to work towards that
Oof
self employed pays a little less tax
That just screams america lol
dont have to fund the ponzi retirement scam
Yeah, here you just get fucked over by local tax office
tbh I only saw a gun on security guys delivering money to banks
Police usually use tear gas and tasers if it comes to something
...
ugh
any suggestions for finding skylanders on the cheap?
yeah...thought so
I'm still missing a hyper beam prism break
and I completely forgot Spyro's Adventure has four bonus levels
so I'm now looking for those too
:z
I remember walking past those at walmart
they were on clearance then
WHY DID I NOT GRAB THEM
hello
found all the adventure pack stuff on ebay for 40 CAD
...hm
and it had a mac port...
oh dear
this is not a rabbit hole I wanted to go down
shut it debil

go to sleep
who
GO TO SLEEP DEBIL
one I am choosing to ignore
I mean
"take into consideration, and I do thank you for your input"
jackass
I mean
old pokƩmon games
even used, people will pay double the retail of the games at launch after a few gens
but I would never sell my copy of PokƩmon White
I love that game way too much
looks like a happy meal toy
now I need to find and crack a mac copy
and get it to play nice with my modern mac
fuck you, Arden
this was the shit back in the day
I step on you
no wait you're probably into that
tbh, if I knew someone was going to step on my skylander, I would intentionally put a more durable one with a lot of sharp edges
as opposed to one with thin sections like Hex...
my lightcore Hex's extended arm fell off...
the socket came loose, but the fact I needed to glue it back together...idk
anyway
thank you, V
this is even cheaper than buying the adventure packs
and probably more durable in the long run
hm
I haven't actually played the latter half of the skylanders titles
...
crap
rabbit hole it is
and it appears that only the first game ever got PC releases...emulation time
Skylanders was the rich kids game, never played it
Signalis
Still playing around with bullet physics in OpenMW.
I've also fixed Morrowind legs as you can see.
yeah its nuts
anyone tried the 60he in mw3 yet? i play mostly fast twitch movement based games and wondering if thereās noticeable improvement of movement for mw3 specifically
also curious if thereās any counterstrike kz players who have input on this as well
...people play Modern Warfare 3 still?
I assume you're talking about the ok one from over a decade ago
assuming you mean the recent dumpster fire of a CoD game, I doubt anything has changed from last year's release
have at it
i play it purely because i like the movement - i play games purely for movement
the new one yes

Tbh if you were super worried about it you might be able to use funky shaders?
To make them look physical
But idk what your engine options would be for that
Since idk what you are really doing lol

can you do transparent textures

wait what why do they imply that like no other video game can let you spend time with other people and make friends for much less money
when thats not true
you dont need to buy 3000euro worth of spaceships just to play a video game with others and possibly meet new people and make friends
yeah it's just kinda cringy to argue about it like that
it's simply what you like wasting money on I guess
no need to make it sound like a well-thought out decision on a mortgage
hell I have hundreds worth of digital goods across games, yeah they are all pointless, so what
the weird part is they were using it as an excuse to try and pick up a woman when thats probably gonna drive them away
but to be fair it is a redditor
yeah it might not have even happened
either way feels like theyre having some copium
to try and justify spending 3000euro on a half baked game
yeah haha

this guy is also on my shorts.. he's gaming the system very right
Yep
He's been popping off
And honestly I quite like em
Game developer, good mindset
inspirational
what does non-P2W even mean xdd
Wait, PS3 sold more than X360? š
Long tail
I already did
Granted, one was from my brother's acc and it was for him, but still
Lol
Oh man
March 22nd 2024.. in-game purchases?
Come on release whatever that new half life product is
Where is Game Boy Slim and Game Boy Colour.
Who cares
as a bluray player
Always.
Oh ffs, thanks guys
I fell asleep in chair, "working"
Your pings woke me up
WAKE UP
36 minutes to go
@hardy merlin here, have one for free
Wtf is a game boy slim
wtf
the PS5 Slim would be soooo much smaller if its PSU was external....
I miss external PSUs
Hasn't been a thing since before 3D consoles though
the 360 PSU is external
and its HUUUGE
and Wii
and hot
YEAH
Are you sure? The Xbox OG was internal AND had a power brick.
Now I gotta dig up some 360 photos
my 360 Slim has external brick
oh, AND brick š¤
IDK mine has a huge black rectangle with a power light on it halfway along the cable
Oh that's right. The OG 360 had that massive brick as well. Just found mine.
Well okay - So it's been an on and off thing I guess š
XD
Celebrating the 30th anniversary of SimCity 2000 with an LGR retrospective review! The sequel to the classic Maxis city builder was a true game changer in 1993, improving nearly every part of the game and adding so many things that would become staples of the genre. So let's take a look at the MS-DOS version, the many ports and releases, and its...
My first city builder.
i got 2 of those
Only one here. Do have two slims though.
Never got around to modding it. Such a painful console.
i only have 2 incase mine breaks again lol. glad mine is already JTAG modded
My OG is JTAG'ed, but the GPU died years ago.
I can maybe turn it on once every blue moon for a few minutes.
thats the fate of my first JTAG as well
Both slims are vanilla. š¦
i do want to get an RGH slim but im sort of on the fence
I'll get around to it eventually...hopefully...before the wife threatens me to sell it š
meanwhile my gf doesnt mind me buying more and more consoles especially retro ones
Seeming as I had like 40 moving boxes or ... a third of our apartment, mine is not enthusiastic š
Game boy B&W but slim version.
It was released shortly before introduction of game boy colour.
You mean the Gameboy POCKET?
Iām Jurassic park movie theatre release old

Not to be confused with the Gameboy Micro, which was a redesign of the GBA
Childhood memories are spotty. Because guess who got bullied.
micros in good condition are $$$
Anyhow. I still have the game boy pocket.
In used condition but whole.
As in. Buttons are shiny and a bit worn.
for christmas i might raid my parents retro consoles and get a GB, GB Pocket and GameCube with GB Player
maybe even an original DS if that survived
Tony. Get Lord of The Rings games for Nintendo handheld. Diablo vibe for handheld.
currently spend way too much on pokemon games already
What spending on Pokemon games.
like 500 or 600eur at this point
Per game?
Gunpla collecting is worse š
basically got gen1 up to HG/SS and then ORAS ontop
i wont commnent on platic model collections as they all through the bank seem overpriced
ive spend multiple hundreds of eur on 1 warhammer model.... and in the end just threw it away as i never painted it and the hobby just became more and more expensive to look at and get other nice looking shelve pieces
Itās model kits. Gotta build em too.
i did
Itās no glue and posable
but painting them is not my forte nor do i have the patience or skill required to learn how to properly paint figurines and models
warhammer figurines arent glued either
Warhammer from GW store?
reseller of their stuff but yes that warhammer
Kits from there are unpainted and unglued
i am aware
And require glue and painting.
but they dont require glue
it was a large one although idk if its meant to be to scale of the tabletop as they have a really crazy universe
big ass gun
Howitzer shell gun.
i have no sense of scale
bigger than a frog
1/100.
ngl doesnt help lol
the main issue i have with gunpla is im not an all too big mech fan and they mainly rely on friction fits not acetone solvents
idk if you can even use acetone to permanently combine pieces
Like revell? Ye you can.
Is it recommended ? No. Maybe for minor bits.
I hope Unity with the departure of the moronic muppet CEO will recover
Unity can definitely be a valid game engine for all kinds of projects
@feral ferry I think the problem is as a public company they'll always be more interested in chasing short term profits than long term gains at the expense of their developers.

That change I 100% was the CEO's BS move
Good thing the guy got sacked again after
Look up his history, bad decisions, shite directorship
Pushing microtransactions
It's good he got sacked but imo the real question is how did he get into that position in the first place
Because Unity has never, ever turned a profit
And there are many organizations with systems built on unity that are not games and provide absolutely no revenue to Unity
Was about to say. Doesn't matter who the CEO was. The writing on the wall for a change like this was... chiseled into the wall.
That looks like a cool handheld.
Is the screen big?
Why did it happen now? Because the age of free money is over and now making a profit matters again
Hard to turn a profit when you keep acquiring questionable companies for large sums of money.
Their M&A isn't what is driving their loss making
3.5" and its a dual FPGA handheld that can natively play GB/C, GBA, Lynx, Sega handheld and more by just plugging in the back
they are sort of finalmouse style of marketing though
Cool.
very limited stock and hyped up
1600 something x 1440p screen in those 3.5"
so GB/C games have a 10x integer scale on the res for better visuals
ill order some GBA mod kits next and then compare the 2 to figure out which one is better
Idk finalmouse.
hype marketing basically. hype up the product and create FOMO by limiting stock severely
Oh. You mean predatory *********** tactics. Got it.
$250 seems quite a lot for a gameboy
although i am a bit surprised by the price tag for oversees shipping a small gameboy pocket siyed handheld
the main appeal seems to be the openFPGA system they have where anyone can write programs for its second FPGA. most of the ones out rn are emulators for arcade machines and retro consoles
like the capcom arcades of the first generation etc
Exactly. Buy a second hand vita 1000 or a damn DS or something
I mean yeah I guess
Can't you emulate almost everything on a smartphone anyways?
well both of those cant natively connect via hdmi
Well that too but the FPGA is the key point for like... True simulation of the system or something
Switch
Phones can via USB-C?
I said vita or ds
i cant stuff a switch down my pocket sadly
At the very least they have something somewhat original unlike final mouse
Buy proper jeans.
Haha
either way i got it so i can compare it and the main alure is i can plug in my game carts without needing to load roms all the time
Ah fair
the main main main issue is though.... that videos and reviews are really split on if its worth it or not
and many reviews were made on release a year or so ago where most of the updates that make it good to new reviewers werent out yet
i have no use for a steam deck.
for anything this one cant do i have a switch already
and most of the systems people emulate i own
like multiple DS/3DS systems. PSPs and such
my main hope is extending the lifespan of my GameBoys with this
Iirc you can get apps now where once ROM is added it handles icon/game art so u don't have to keep manually changing them
Emulating 3ds sucks, some games are just meh in terms of performance on citra
On steam deck I just dump ROMs into the consoles name folder and it sorts out the rest and they show up in steam library
also got an everdrive on the way for my more uh aged games i would call them
mainly sucks on GB/C games cause the shell is designed in a way where the top cover always rubs onto the PCB
On v60 with second screen it works great
How did Laswell get a topless photo of Makorov to put in their intel database? xd
Have it in some razer controller case
His lanagram.
xd
hey everyone, just wanting to check in and see which gaming mouse everyone is liking right now
All of them
i have that problem too
lol yeah
Razer is pretty bad but it's not that shit
yeah cuz at least i can install what i want with razers shit
i dont need any aimtrainer or clip recording thing from steelseries lmao only decent thing they have is sonar
17 is pretty awful dood
makorov? i assume this is cod
so makarov
u mean the lusty argonian maid?
17 hours for a campaign isn't bad at all, unless it's filled with open world shenanigans and grinding
you can't please everyone I guess!
if after 17 hours they still don't have enough, it ought to be good. in past years, you'd replay a really good game with new game+ and unlock cool shit
but that's the geriartric millenial in me speaking š
Eye is a good game, shame it was never finished
what site is that?
People are supposed to play absolutely everything?
Get off your high horse
Ah fuck news hit, Star Wars KOTOR remake is dead
you dont have to play a game to hear of it
I have heard of plenty of games, not the random underground goblin ones that V' has invented
Good? If they won't do both games together, then don't bother at all.
Irrelevant. It's part of the same story.
And the remake would be a chance for some of the restored content to make it back officially.
Like the cut planet that was partially intact on the Xbox version in game files but never used.

0:0...
Oh cool wonder if they fixed all the stuff they broke with the transition to steam
Oh they brought back the WON menu look that's nice
kotor 1 and 2 were awesome!
I miss that menu
Dumb take but, whatever
Ahh they finally launched it
Half-Life 25th Anniversary Update
Incorporated func_vehicle entity support from Counter-Strike, for mod-makers to use. Full SDK update will come later, but level designers can use it now.
FUNC_VEHICLE
When FUNC_VEHICLE in CS2
oh wow they actually patched the game
No I have not and no I will not?
Dumb take to say that everyone just HAS to play absolutely everything just cause it exists
updating a 25 year old game, based
Ahahah
Yeah, how many of the people who worked on it back then thought it would still be getting official updates 25 years later
Ivan is back
I have the alpha build with these zany models on my hard drive, it is quite something
And good to see the tutorial texts are still as useless as ever
holy BASED
Oh and they brought back the head roll when strafing, based
fucking 90s style software renderer
Gotta have that fancy water
nice they updated it for 16:9
they added the transition sound effect after the click one tho which triggers a long dormant muscle memory path in my brain
oh hey you can play hl uplink too
Oh they even fixed the crowbar so the first hit actually deals more damage and one hit kills headcrabs
Wonder how much of this is because of the Dario Casali playthrough
the software renderer on linux is fucking spot-on
coronas around light sources look fucked tho
Usekeying movables no longer sends them moving at lightspeed, speedrunners in shambles
never thought I'd play something that feels so much like the boxed copy I bought in the early 2000s, without resorting to fan-made stuff
Now where 3
software renderer is a bit broken in uplink, at least. some doors, ladders and railings don't get rendered
oh thats a good point
That means nothing
Let battle for the Realm commence, Commanders! Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is OUT NOW! Lead your faction into brutal strategic combat in Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin. Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is a real-time strategy game from Frontier, set in the iconic Warhammer universe.
New game is out
I saw that ending more than once
It's quite a good little twist to the ending
Especially that ||Gman somehow has ability to see and influence parallel universes||
Which.. I have to say was a bit dumb?
But it might have been planned to just unveil that from the beginning but this just makes the foe all the more unbeatable
But still, that ending literally doesn't mean that any of the Valve teams are working on HL3

Knock-off GB?
The GB is too old to trigger my nostalgia. I got started on SNES, PS1 and the GBC

reminds me of that guy who went around Spain, finding Resident Evil 4 textures in real life
it's the most impressive feat of extreme autism I have witnessed
sopmeone should find the bodies from that one game
might be late to this, seems interesting nonetheless
K
this in vr would be dope
tbf thats how almost all games ever are done
The exact same brick texture is in dozens of Nintendo 64 and PlayStation games. From Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, and Final Fantasy 7, to Turok, Conker, and Mortal Kombat 3.
"cobble_stone" is the most overused game graphic you never noticed. Why were competing studios sharing the same graphics? 'Texture Archaeology' gives us the answer.
The...
this video was truly eye opening since i thought using real images for textures is a sort of newer thing
like ps2 era and onward
Nah just too bit crushed.

Long con by Gaben
There are 3 9's in what you just said, 3*3 = 9, half-life 3 confirmed!
Wasn't this game a complete detachment from anything that made 1 a good game?
A complete writing failure
Never played either of them, but as far as I understand the opinions of II differ quite wildly.
I played 1 and I can't say I liked it that much
It was fine, but a lot of downtime of just traversing apocalyptic terrain
Which I guess it a part of the experience, earth is fookd
Some forced arena sequences too which were a bit.. bleh
It was an alright game, wouldn't say it's the best thing ever
2 I heard what it packs in gameplay is completely destroyed by shoddy writing and direction
If you didn't like the first one, maybe the second one will do it for you! ignore popular opinion and make your own
I didn't say I didn't like it lol
It was just an average experience
And I'm definitely never touching part 2
Was deffo overrated but I liked it a lot
Ah they actually got Marc Laidlaw for the 25th anniversary documentary?
I was suspecting there might be some bad blood there between Marc and Valve considering the fallout and Epistle 3, maybe not
Its insane how Half Life was created and developed in less than 2 years
ooo so many guns
Valve have a wall of guns in their office, pretty cool!
least armed american office
Those are fake, by the looks of things
Orange barrel tips
WHERE'S MY SCAR IN CSGO
You would hope they are fake lmfao
Well it's America, who knows
They can have real guns there that are just disabled/deactivated
But those don't look in general like real guns lol
Another convert
Especially Switch games are expensive
Far Cry new dawn š¤¢
All of that would probably cost you 250$ if it was on Switch :p
They got Baldurs Gate 1 + 2 EE for like 50$ when it's 3$ on PC lol
Well, 0, actually, if you just emulate
It's also morally fine to emulate anything Nintendo
They have more than enough money to not have any layoffs or be hurt as a company
Mothercluckers sell games like it's nothing
I don't know much about Jim, he's from the old era of youtube, kinda in the same league of pro-consumer advocacy like Cynical Brit used to be
Last I heard Jim's gender transitioned or something? Made a lot of enemies with that move lol
But Jim shat on Wargaming when WG was on their bullshit so he has that going for him, from my perspective

Oh no, The Jimquisition is making itself a smarmy point again.
Sick and tired of Nintendo's repeated attempts to steal from him, your old pal Jim Sterling explains why it's perfectly morally fine to rob the company blind.
didnt watch it but still think its a braindead take and doubt anything in there would change my mind
lol
Tbf consumers love piracy until they become game devs and realize it's bad for sales
personally think it's ok if you dont have the money, if you have the money but think its not worth it just dont buy it
nobody is entitled to have a game just because they disagree with something the dev/publisher whoever does or says
there is so many others, just get something else if you dont think its worth the money
To me morally copyright and buying is mostly a social expectation to all contribute to funding future works.
Pirating can be fine under circumstances but with caution.
Just because Nintendo keeps their games expensive does not mean it's justified to pirate them.
That being said pirating a game way outside the window the original developers could reasonably expect to gain revenue on it, I find it perfectly fine.
Even if a competing re-release / remaster exists, assuming you pirate the original.
Of course there are always other exceptions that sound fair, but you need to at least make a good case for it.
If a game releases to ⬠1000 at launch, the value is absolutely ridiculously bad, and you just want to experience what it's all about, sure go ahead would be one.
In the past I thought differently about it but that's where I stand
I also think pirating what you already bought is fine or pirating leaked early copies.
In the later as long as you buy it when expressing a genuine interest, not just a interesting that it's leaked kind of thing.
why the fuck would I care about the wellbeing of the most greedy industry? steal as much as you can
If I set rapid trigger to .15 should I also set the actuation point to .1 or is it better to keep them both at .4 for like wsad
wait you think gaming is the most greedy industry lol
hyperbole to get my point across
If you genuinly believe 100% of the game industry might as well not exist, feel free to pirate.
what about the option to you know, just not get the game thats too expensive in your eyes
I do buy games, lots of them in fact, but I do pirate in equal measure
why not just not pirate and ignore those ones
because I wanna play them/check out if they're any good
game is crap = bux saved
game is good = I buy it eventually
Why not just wait when the game is on sale before you play it?
If a game is crap on somewhere like steam you can refund.
I guess I'm just used to doing it like this
but waiting is not an option anyway, I may have lost interest by the time it's on sale
and doing the 2 hours then refund isnt enough to decide if its crap or good?
nope
you can also watch / read reviews before tho
nah I can understand not doing that, especially if its story driven I dont want to read any spoilers or anything
oh yeah fair
and mechanics can be fun for different people so that might also not say anything unless its like egregious issues
I know where you are coming from, I pirated a lot of games myself in the past, until somewhat recently on my switch.
It is a transition to make mentally. I would mostly recommend you to keep thinking about it.
There is a social expectation that when you play a game on launch you are paying the higher price.
If you pirate the game you are doing a wrong towards the people who did happily buy it and could have pirated instead.
Why should they pay when you don't?
I think if it was easier a lot more people would do it, I don't think consumers inherently conform to moral obligation to pay
as an aside, I recently got pissed that valve removed a game I paid money for from my steam library, and replaced it with another one they deemed better. you aren't buying games, you are buying a license to play them in perpetuity, unless the publisher decides different
that, I think is a bit fucked. the piracy of today will be the game preservation of the future
Yes it is, though for single-player games on pc with a few exceptions it's been mostly fine.
This is one reason I personally try to avoid closed systems like consoles.
In the past I used it as an argument to pirate switch games, but now I mostly just don't play them, which to me is the better answer.
If there is a switch game I really want to play I'll buy it but I'll mostly leave the system be.
I'll wait for emulation to play Tears of the Kingdom and other stuff I may be interested in
Just wanted to say there have been 0 games since I own my steam deck that really prompted me to go back to my switch.
Maybe I will emulate tears of the kingdom in a decade or so, but there are enough good games I can play instead.
I try to convert people at work with that argument too, that it might be pricey initially but the savings on PC games, plus having them for basically ever makes a big difference
Cool I guess. Just already own or don't care about these.
Still one of the better bundles.
Yeah
Hogwarts Legacy was quite the showcase on PC and current-gen consoles and managed a reasonable enough transition to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but Nintendo Switch...? That's the game's biggest porting challenge yet. What you get is recognisably Hogwarts Legacy, but a massive array of compromises, cutbacks and design changes are required to get ...
40 second load times
Entering and exitring anything
OG version had no load screens at all
who woulda thunk that nintendos throttled ancient hardware could not run that
in a decade? it runs fine now.
Hi guys, im trying to remap my keybinds but there's no save keyboard in the top right like the youtube video shows
can anyone help me with this?
Stop making changes to an inactive profile. There is nothing to save.
Drag it up to replace one of the four ACTIVE profiles that are on the board, and you'll get the option to save.
ohh
(Or just edit one of those)
youre the best thank you
Right
So, where are the graphical improvements?
PS5 version at the bottom, if you can't guess just by the image
That looks very meaningless
if you have the game you can get the remaster for 10$ I think it was?
if you didnt have it you get a new version with some more details
there have been worse cashgrabs
imagine not being id software and charging money for your remasters
bit cringe tbh
also I know you are trolling but look at the zipper or in general the cloth
quite easy to see if it wasnt a shot where like half the image has depth of field and the other is in the shadow

old news
Very intriguing. But only in technical terms. I see no point in playing it on an N64
I think the sale window for N64 games has passed by about 25 years yes
technically, this is completely awesome and I think that's the point
I'd argue it isn't even meant to be PLAYED beyond a "huh, neat" technical demo.
is basically like when I got quake running on my old nokia symbian phone, the effort gets you some bragging rights but nobody in their right mind should play it in that state
I have an n64 + flash cart + old television here, I might give it a whirl and see how playable it is
they want to port the rest of the levels but yes its more like doom on all devices. just technical demo stuff of "yes we can"
I have been following the portal 64 project for a while, it's mostly just interesting to see how far the conole can be pushed.
the original game still gets load screens if your drive can't stream assets fast enough
usually thats alleviated by running it on an SSD but also higher graphics settings and a not as powerful gpu increase the asset streaming load
ive noticed on the PC version at least i get much more loading times with raytracing on
(like i mean enough for doors to show loading spinners when they don't often show one on lower graphics settings)
What was it supposed to win?

It wasn't even that good
Quite pretty though, some visuals did look good
Story was really really basic ass
Combat was a bit of a joke outside of like 1 boss
Idk, a very basic 2005 formula in a pretty package
Not a GOTY, but maybe a contender for some other awards
most mediocre niche game entry 2023
Maybe we should have gaming's razzies?
Would get more awards out.. in the word possible way
What's this year's razzie winner?
Some would say one more than it deserves
Lol that's the only one it deserves to be in
Best action game this year was RE4R
The horror elements were nonexistent

Oh, hard agree
RE2R still blows me away
GOTY? No. Game direction? No. Narrative? I liked the little woman companion but.. nah. Art? Maybe. Music? Can't remember any of it. Audio? Can't remember any of it. Accessibility? Don't care really.
For me it seems it got nominated for all the awards it deserves to be nominated for, and that's action game
Which will prolly go to hi-fi rush anyways
That's an action adventure
Which RE4R isn't winning either lol
Lol I thought it was a leet soak of rear.
Let's see, Jedi Survivor is going to win this one, that would have been the best joke
So many games, so little of them I care for
2024 is prolly going to be more interesting for me personally
Actually not the best year for me, have not played any game that came out this year yet
Out of the big boys the only one I gave a fair shake was Baldur's Gate 3 and that was pretty pretty good
It has its weaknesses which get very apparent towards the end
Kind of unsure if BG3 is my game, also have not done a whole lot of gaming this year
I know what it is, also sort of want to do it coop but need someone to play it with, A guy I also play dnd with is a candidate but so far kind of open.
Otherwise I want to play their earlier games first
It's a good experience in SP
And doesn't require previous knowledge of games cause as far as I gather there's not much continuity
There are returning characters though which to me meant nothing lol cause BG3 was the very first D&D anything I played
Obviously not but I already own the Divinity - Original Sin games, so might as well play those first.
Oh I just remember I do own one of these 2023 titles, Jedi Survivor, got it for free with my cpu.
Just have 0 attachment to Star Wars either way, no real interest of playing it anytime soon
My experience with Star Wars goes as far as what the internet serves you + half watching a few of the movies I did not find particularly noteworthy on tv as a kid.
Ngl after BG3 I felt inspired to try DOS2
And I couldn't get past first arc it's just so damn boring
Who put shitty silly humour into my bloody RPG
Sort of in the first act of DOS1, unsure about it as of now
Game is supposed to have a very much inverse difficulty curve
Anyway the biggest thing I have against it is it's open nature, I don't want to be safe loading a lot and I am not a fan of branching paths in general.
They ain't wrong lol
And the projects were supposedly working on was a multiplayer game
(and a part 3 but who gives a shit)
did the game even have to be remastered or did they just tack that on to differentiate the console only version from the pc also one
its a 10$ upgrade for people who owned it on ps4, idk there have been worse deals
isn't the first one about the same age as gta5 now
think so
There's also Smart Delivery which is completely free and nobody asked them to remaster that game and then monetize it
I said there have been worse deals I didnt say it was the best deal
if its visuals are comparable to what gtav does am not surprised if they didn't do all that much in that regard
inb4 "next chapter of gta" trailer turns out being a mission dlc for V and the base game receives a remastered namesake
marketing lingo for porting the games over to current gen ps network so they can kill support for the original release?

and how has that stopped developers from making forced online launchers
you cant really retroactively add that onto a singleplayer game
much less on console
I mean, I'm no playstation expert, I just know consoles are as full of this perpetually online bs like everything else these days
I think theyāre referring to always online games where you need a connection to play
and ps4 isn't that old so wouldn't be unimaginable
The only thing I would sort of want at a low price is something that can either cleanly capture 480p over hdmi without much latency or integer scale 480p to 1440p hdmi in / out.
But honestly the build in scaler in my monitor works fineish
i see the switch cannot handle that many chests xD
Using windows on the deck to get rid of windows by making a steam os recovery drive
The second they said it was live action I knew the Zelda movie was for nobody
I mean, anyone who didn't think Link's name was Zelda as a kid is a liar
cause everyone absolutely did

cherry blossom elytra š
Still hearsay?
Someone is playing bedwars
Also that looks like a elytra
Oh it is
That's one way to do it, though creating a recovery drive from linux is generally easier
Valve also suggest using Etcher to write the Recovery Image, or dd in Linux
Using DD is mostly stupid to use for that as per the arch wiki: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/USB_flash_installation_medium
https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/224277/is-it-better-to-use-cat-dd-pv-or-another-procedure-to-copy-a-cd-dvd/224314#224314

Personally I just use cp isofile.iso > /dev/sdx
I mean windows was installed
SteamOS
I am just saying technically creating the bootable drive from steam os desktop would be easier on paper, oh yea you probably need to have sudo access / set a password not hard but if you didn't do it sure.
Well yes but windows was installed not sheam os
There was no Linux to access
Fair enough
That sure would work
Kid probably has depression or some anxiety disorder that needs treatment, but his parents as always skip over his needs to try and fill their own pockets
2023 was a pretty meh, 2024 will be amazing
New mainline Persona game
calls one of the best years for gaming meh lol
It was meh though
I expect it Turns out the games were a coping mechanism, and keeping the kids from doing worse
we might have not gotten some new entries in some series but overall in gaming we got like everything you could want
whats your definition of rpg
Yes yes technically Baldur's Gate 3 and Hogwarts are RPGs
that is why I'm asking
But more open world, non linear, go wherever you want shit
Starfield was meant to be that and we know how that worked out
starfield kappa
A game that nobody will play cause the distribution sucks, a GOTY, a PS5 exclusive that wasn't even that good apparently, mediocre remake that lost all the good aspects of the original, Mario, and an expansion to Breath of the Wild lol
Might need to try out that Cyberpunk DLC though, Horizon is another PS5 exclusive
Still, 2-4 alright games doesn't make the year "best in gaming"
that is just in one genre ignoring other games that didnt fit your criteria lol
lies of p, octopath 2, FF16
Octopath 2 was this year? Okay that's interesting
atelier ryzer 3 for a different combat system of rpg
then we have indie games or mid size that are doing great like sea of starts
avatar game in december
2024 just has so many more interesting titles than whatever released this year
oh the recent yakuza game is also rpg
sure we will get some good games that are lined up for 2024 but unlikely its as much variety and quality as this year
I might need to pick up FFXIV to get into for the new expansion
Which people are apparently a bit hyped up for
Well it'll certainly be different genres than this year, but I like the games that will come out next year far more than most titles from this year
And a lot of the "big games" launched botched this year, so there's that
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Elden Ring DLC, Metaphor Re Fantazio, Stalker 2, Hades 2, Frostpunk 2, FFXIV DLC, Little Nightmares 3, Hellblade 2, Star Wars Outlaws, Still Wakes the Deep, Wolf Among Us 2, Bloodlines 2
I'm somewhat interested in that new Granblue Fantasy game
Next year just has far more RPG than this year
My hopes for Ark 2 are shallow but there's that..
Also Baby Steps is next year as well which will be funny
And that's just what's announced, I imagine there could be surprise reveals for 24 in TGA's
I expect Kingdom Come 2 to be next year, hopefully which would be one of my GOTY's
I mean if we want to just list things, alan wake, the jedi game, hifi rush, AC6 RE4 were all this year
