I see I see.
also it would just be extremely dark on that surface
I need to land on this planet of raining diamonds
deep within the core
basically mariana trench ocean floor *100
So I can use DIamonsd to make a laser gun to fight off evil monkeys
neptune?
I have not played the game, but flying through a gas giant is VERY difficult to achieve

might as well build a near surface sun orbiter or something
congo is a good game and you can't change my mind
"surface"
cassini still was ~10 million kilometers from the surface

Ayo?
New Anno game leaked by germans
I wonder what the setting will be
Anno is just island hopping
So we can't go ancient
I hope they don't go hyperfuturistic
Anno 2020?
We haven't had an Anno that is proper current era
That doesn’t have to be anno
I think it is Anno
So, Germans have a tax-payer funded game investment fund?
Just talks about something new from an existing IP, just because the ubi Düsseldorf location is mentioned doesn’t mean it has to be something they made there
Idk why you think it’s anno after linking another article that says nothing about what it is
doesn't even say anything about existing ip
Existing IP is what I said to not translate the entire paragraph about Inhalt
Not super accurate but close enough
Also taxes funding games is nothing special, if anything germanys investment is super small in comparison
yea
was more sarcastical than anything
won't complain about games investment when I also pay for tatort movies

Take this with a grain of salt: People with early Starfield copies are now claiming that you can only land 4 times on a planet before the game says that it’ll have to delete previous generated tiles for a new one and the tiles are all entirely disconnected from each other even if…
1038

Y'all remember No Man's Sky launch? Pepperidge farm remembers
come on todd if scam citizen can do it in multiplayer ya'll should be able to in singleplayer ez
this video is too perfect
Starfield will ummmm, probably be like "Travel here loading screen" game. No travel like SC or NMS
that seems rather worryingly possible at this point
It will be
And it'll be fine anyways
It just works
I'm sure modders will fix it x d
Seeing that it's entirely possible that the tile generation is going to be a problem I can't help but remember that argument I had earlier today with Ion about waiting 24 hours after release to buy the game
That seems very possible
And 99% whst we will get
No premade world distances, Also you won't be able to go too far from the ship
True
I expected a game that would kill Star Citizen and obsolete it forever!!!
No it never will, also Star Citizen is preorder for a reason. ForeverPreorder
What's Star Citizen?
Some ponzi scheme?
Oh yeah did you see the news Aral
A guy that is an ex-employee at Robert's Space Industries has left a big post on how the company is heavily mismanaged
Apparently Squadron 42 has not been worked upon for years, there's nothing there
https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/163yyxh/prior_cig_employee_recently_released_something/ recently fired
Guy worked in marketing side of things, so finances
They have a lot of money, RSI and CIG
Yet how they spend it is appalling
Starfield will literally be modded into a Star Citizen clone before Star Citizen ever releases
tbh I'd take such testamonies with a grain of salt since its coming from a place of pretty strong emotions and thoughts on the topic
but yeah cig being poorly managed isn't exactly news
IRC Squadron 42 was massively delayed as they didn't actually license the Cry engine for it and got sued. I imagine since then it probably hasn't been touched
the narrative for ages has been that they're so busy working on SQ42 that Star Citizen (the online part of the project) takes the backseat on development
but who the f even knows
imo what the game currently offers for the $45-75 or so you pay for a starter pack/ship is def worth it if you're interested in this type of game
The narrative in 10 years time is going to be they spent all the money on executive BMWs
but don't get suckered into pledging further
Only game I'll preorder is CS2
Counter Strike 2 is free, son

And worth every penny
so its worthless?
Eeeeeeey
Yeah
They even made this little minigame called cities skylines II so when counter strike 2 gets pulled, they will pretend CS2 was always a city builder
I've more or less given up on online pvp games
so much sweaty toxicity and tryhards everywhere these days
not to mention cheaters/hacking etc
Yeah I'm sure that game generates some gamer moments
I mostly play coop stuff these days
cold steel 2
I played Pseudoregalia, and I want more of it. Just this teensy indie title
I did not
@orchid prism
Speak of the devil!
Ah, they got em quick
I literally saw it appear on my screen 😄
Don't fuck with Wooting server on a workday
these bots need to up their game and plan their spamwaves when most mods are sleeping
beep boop send random discord invite
I still didn't get a CS2 invite 😦
make your own cs2 in s&box
Sure
Only if S&Box wasn't so annoying to actually get
Have to go through some external service
CS2 a roblox original tm
asset party is their hub for everything, you are able to share your creations to other people there etc
want a key? got 5 that i can give away
no through their facepunch owned website
because its not released yet
They just scared of logging into a third party website with their steam account
Why can't they just use the steam betas and closed access features
it's garry
Like, I don't really feel like having to visit some external site
because they reward people for contributing
It's Source 2 based, just bring the closed access to steam
it's on steam
the keys arent handed out through steam though
indeed
as they use their own system for determining who gets keys and how many
you can read their blog on why they do it like that
If you activate the keys, do you get the game forever?
I assume they want to monetize the title
yes
Giving out so many keys doesn't seem.. financially clever
It's a developer preview, alpha, those are usually free
Yeah but will your access be revoked later with full release?
It would make sense to do so
Far as I know actual pricing is still undecided
No
no s&box
Garry's Mod 2
OH
s$box
"gmod 2 but not really" game
also gmod2 wouldnt be a thing cause we were at gmod 11 last it had numbers
and gmod9 is still a thing for legacy owners
its not a game
just like gmod wasnt a game
its a sandbox
quite literal
Yes, developer preview so a lot of the creations are just testing what it can do and such
actually a lot of stuff already works
has a story mode
you can read more here https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/S%26box
Took me far too long to get the name. Hah
yeah
but anyway its not a game and gmod wasnt either
it was a vehicle for games made as gamemodes
good job mansen
i do like them rebuilding all the stuff from 0 and not in lua
sETbox
accurate
i remember this game running like shit on my pc
What's a mark rubber?
vermintide 2
Ah
S&box is closed beta because the source 2 mod tools are finalized from valve yet
The team has been very open about that
ha

i mean if theres no reviews saying how bad it is people will have to buy last minute if they want EA
Everything I hear about Starfield solidifies the fact that I refuse to preorder it and that I don't trust Bethesda, or Todd Howard, to deliver what they promise
i mean its todd howard
It's also free on Gamepass so

how tf does Cyberpunk run better on this than God of War
crappy console port vs shitty console port
LOL
Cyberpunk is a console port??
nah I doubt that
most of the UI must use the joystick as a mouse
That's just brain rot caused by Destiny, now all developers have to copy that mouse joystick nonsense
If the game supports dpad controls in the menu that seems fine, besides that when playing on my deck I just get annoyed to the same problem as wooting is having more or less, a lot of games don't work with mixed mouse and controller inputs
Forcing me to use keyboard bindings everywhere, which are often a lot more keybindings that need to be mapped somewhere.
MKDEV crack team has published detailed instructions how to crack Denuvo DRM from games
I wonder what will be the ramifications of that
Ah so they did have a collab
Imagine Dragons is really damn boring though
Could have had a lot more interesting people make songs for the game
Damn really speaks how bad the song is when the most likeable part of the song is Inon Zur's piano orchestra segments
Why Imagine Dragons ffs
Task Coldplay with it, they'll make an amazing song
Literally just bias
Coldplay have a lot of amazing songs they have released, recently as well
But the old ones are especially great
Tf is a polyphia
Ngl out of the artists in my playlists
I can find maybe 1 to compose a space epic song
And that's M83
Who, tbf, make incredible soundtracks
M83 is like, ear orgasm territory with how amazing their songs sound
Meh
Do they even have a vocalist?

well, i don't wanna say i told you so, but... I TOLD YA!

whoever backs them up has completely lost every connection to reality
Even a former programmer backed up that the CEO doesn't give a damn fuck and prefers to waste money on office furniture and art in the office rather than hiring more people
big differences between a scam and under delivering/overcharging
is SC a bad product by a bad company sure
it isnt a scam
they want to deliver what the promise
they just cant
i dont think its possible with todays tech to be fair
they want eve online size with crazy detail
i dont think its possible right now
nah
you dont relise the processing required on the server side
to sync that all
a modern sim takes full use a of a modern desktop cpu to do one persons worth
sycning in 100s of players dosent scale well
To what?
60 hz sim for a dogfight would be shit
that isnt how modern games work
no
sim multiplayers games do everything server side
thats how you make it even
so everyones game updates at the same rate
if you dont have serverside sim then you can peak and such
https://streamable.com/d631hu Not great, typical creation shenanigans
you dont remeber 360 era console p2p gameplay
Tbf there hardly is a better engine than Creation for a good open world RPG
An RPG that isn't in space
I have no clue why they decided to use this thing for a space exploration game
But TESVI at least will be rather incredible with all the photorealism, Starfield seems like a prototype of sorts
you mean like cs go?
which is all serverside lol
thats how source engine works
which is why cs go going up to 128 hz was a big deal
hit scan is client
bullet sim guns are server side
hit scan are client because the are instant
cs go is all sim
bullets have to fly
derp yeah
i got it backwards
cs go is server side though
even 1.6 was server side
which is because quake was server side
lol
good games use server side
it takes way more cpu on the server
so bigger games lower the tick rate
warzone and apex are like 20 tps
which sucks
makes it feel crappy
128 player modes are 30 tps
I mean most confirmations checks can only be done by doing the calculation to get there as well
server side is ok for games that do not need low latency
whats why i said dogfights would suck at low tickrate though for SC type games
its why dog fights suck as in ED
they are p2p
its why eve has time dilation
eve is all serverside and just grinds down to 10% speed to keep ticks even
i love flying in ED
but i wont do pvp
Huh
Baldur's Gate 3 has somehow been ported to Mac
Interesting, I wonder what framerate it will run at, 5 or 10FPS
Probably 7

it was annouced for mac same date as ps5
Oo, interesting stats
the store page says mac because EA was on mac
thats not what these graphs really show though
because expansions take different teams than new games
dev teams spans across multiple jobs and if you for example have a larger concept art team that would show as more people even if the project is smaller
Yeah I don't see how that would really be a big factor here
I'm saying you cant see a priority from these graphs
Polaris is the first title in the new Witcher Trilogy, interesting that they are allocating far more resources there than other projects
except that isn't necessarily the case
I fail to see any other cases?
It's past the research phase, so active development
Programmers, artists, modelers, etc spring into action
that still includes concept art and all that, the amount of people working on year long projects at a few snapshots is really not indicative of what priority it has
ea was on apple silicon
Warframe: 1999 is an upcoming update for Warframe that promises to take players back to the beginning. Take a look at the gameplay demo for Warframe: 1999 first shown at Tennocon 2023 featuring classic Warframe hack-and-slash action and a licensed track from Nine Inch Nails. The Warframe: 1999 update for Warframe is launching in 2024.
#Warframe...
Well ok then
I've clearly missed a lot
Ye lol
Tenno finally got an AK-47
I had to catch up with the lore and
They have done a really good job to establish the universe
I can't be bothered to return to the grind, but the lore seems like they have done a masterful job at
ok, since some people said i should give NFS Unbound i tried and refunded it after an hour

these comic graphics are just pure pain, the story's a cringe gender shit show and there's no real goal to go for
like beating Razor or Darius i.e.
thing is that most of the Blackbox staff responsible for games like Underground 2 and Most Wanted 2005 back then left EA and made their own thing with Ubisoft, naming themself Ivory Tower. And honestly? The Crew was well made
Not an absolute banger, but it was definitely worth playing, while Crew 2 sucked ass
Hell yeah Gordon Freeman's Car Adventures in Carmurica
Trackmania with a story lol
k, nvm, seems more like Hotwheels combined with Burn Out
well, definitely looks like a modernized take on Burn Out
still, i wish someone would create something like NFS: World again, but with the tuning depth of Underground 2 and Forza combined, Cops that chase you and a good story
nfsu2 remake is king
the world of U2 is too small for my taste tho
back when it launched it was definitely big, agree, but nowadays it's too small
Are 8BitDo the only controller brand that has their software on phone also?
EULA in a nutshell: You don't own shit
no need to watch a video to know that an EULA basically is more against the user than with the user
99.99% of all EULAs for games are like: Yeah, you can create an Account, but it's something we just borrow you, you don't own your account. Oh and don't expect anything from us
it didn't offend me
it just feels unnecessary
i got banned once in a game for "cheating", despite the fact that i've never cheated. Didn't use any 3rd party program, glitch or bug. So i've studied the EULA of it to find a loophole and was able to recover the account thanks to that. Literally 2 hours later they've updated the EULA and banned me again
thats tough
never touched that game again and they've lost quite a lot of people because of that ban. Many people knew me and they knew i was one of the big whales
What game was it?
Which game
Wait
Nintendo patented removable controllers on handhelds????
How is the Lenovo Legion Go getting away with it?
Are they paying Nintendo?
Often times a company will file patents not to control the technology, but to try to beat patent trolls before they release a product. Nintendo DOES have a filing for removable controllers, but Nintendo is likely aware if they tried going after Lenovo for it, they wouldn't actually gain anything
For example, another company called GameVice had a patent on removable controllers for a tablet, and sued Nintendo for the switch's design. The result was that Gamevice had some of their patents invalidated
https://www.theverge.com/2020/3/13/21177309/nintendo-switch-patent-gamevice-win
So Gamevice not only lost a lot of money trying to attack Nintendo, not only lost the lawsuit, but also lost 2/3 patents they held which would've hurt the company's valuation
They lost because their device bridges the 2 controllers together
And because 2 of the three patents in the claim were "unpatentable" and therefore were invalidated. It's possible that Lenovo could defend itself by pointing out removable controllers had existed well before the Switch, and that it was therefore unfair for Nintendo to claim the idea as their own if Nintendo tried to sue them
Patent trolls are a big problem in the tech industry, and they flood patent offices with any ideas they can. Basically a shotgun approach to patents with no plan to actually try to use any of them. One of the big things patent trolls rely on is the hope that some they'll get patent rights on things they have no right to patenting as the patent office would be so overwhelmed they would let through a lot by mistake.
From their the patent trolls start suing any company with vaguely similar products to their patents. In the past these patent trolls operated out of a small town in Texas where they had a pretty strong grip over the judges, which lead to a really bizzare environment where big tech companies were sinking a lot of money into maintaining a friendly presence in the town (there's a video around of a Samsung outdoor ice rink right outside the courthouse at the height of summer)

just beat saints row 2022
and...
holy shit how did the INTRO to any other SR game have more player choice than the entire campaign
From what I had seen didn't SR2022 just have dogwater writing? Like for a game series that relied on humour it was just trying way too hard to "what's up my fellow kids?"
not scary at all
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPwqwJixmmg nooooo just get this thing back

what if csgo hadn't removed halftime voice chat
I miss halftime trash talk 😦
Didn't cod have what in one game
Also had the ability to listen in with a perk during matches
Sounds vaguely MW2.
there's proximity voice chat in the current cod
Hello again vikings! As you may have noticed, we took a small break from these monthly updates while the Hildir’s Request update was on the Public Test Branch. Much like with the Mistlands, we felt that it wouldn’t make for too much interesting reading while we were mostly looking at bug fixing and the like. But now Hildir has properly arrived i...
fuck yeah
At least it's not a sequel.
Well it's late, 6 years late 😉
remember when they said they couldn't compete with gamepass?
It's mind-blowing that we literally got numbers today highly insinuating that PC gaming is probably bigger than PlayStation in Japan now.

Some random person benchmarked with a 3800x and 2080ti at 1440p high for about 45-60 fps
good performance with old hardware
Considering what Skyrim took? EHHHH
But skyrim is also over a decade old....
Compared to hardware AT THE TIME.
Skyrim was never a difficult game to run with decent performance.
anyone else lagging from wooting?
no
...lagging? You're going to have to be a wee bit more specific there, bud.
uh... the 5800X3D is a significant performance lift compared to the 3800X
up to 30% in some games
but on avg. about 20% more
So yeah, you won't see a CPU bottleneck
I was saying that I'm hoping the person was experiencing cpu bottleneck during the leaked benchmark
Such that I will hopfully see better fps than them
very likely. Zen 2 was good, but Zen 3 was way to good
But I dun wanna spend moneh
they're cheap as hell nowadays on the used market
Im debating selling my 5800x to buy 5800x3d kekw
depends. What clocks are you running your 5800X at?
Probably get a 7800xt anyway
I wouldnt buy 6800xt when 7800xt is launching in couple days with antilag+ and some other stuffs.
DP 2.1 too
Unless they start selling 7900xt at 699 again
uhmmm... As far as i can tell the 7800XT will barely be better than its predecessor
wud have to upgrade 660w psu
7800xt should be lower power consumption?
it is, using much less w, av1, antilag+, dp 2.1, etc.
Oof, I luckily have a nice 750w corsair
Rm750x 2018 version
Rm1000e is probably the best value psu to buy atm if you need an upgrade

Patch #2 for Baldur's Gate 3 is live!
Along with performance improvements and UI tweaks, we've added a new epilogue scene for Karlach, and are working on additional endgame scenes featuring other characters.

They barely announced plans for this... and it's here two days later 😄
I did. It's in the tweet in plain sight.

In other news - Modders are already trying to fix cut and incomplete content.
I...I think the embargo lifted. YT is flooded with Starfield videos and streams.

@orchid prism so like, how much sex is in balders gate
Yes
I keep starting over, so I've seen... one scene.
Ok so now I want it
one of your compaions was a rich ladys sex slave for 400 years
and only left because it got boring
Still no benchmark review of starfield yet
reviews are out?
Yes embargo just lifted
at least its not locked at 30 on pc too
Damn
not enough cat in it for ign
Oof 7/10 ign is basically 1/10
"It’s never a great sign when someone recommends a game on the grounds that it gets good after more than a dozen hours"
Seems to run like shit
Welp at least I'm trying it free on game pass
On PC with fsr
no suprise there
"slow rollout of essential abilities"
if console cant even be 30fps all the time
that all sounds goodf
the worst part of gameplay in fo4 was you got everything cool in the first 30 min
no fov slider but motion blur can be turned off at least
and the biggest complaint ign as about sf is its slow
"Those first 90 hours I played were far from perfect, but I've got plenty of reasons to play 90 more."
180 hours of engaging gameplay is 75/100?
What's pcgamers usual rating distribution
they gave d4 85/100
they never said engaging though
plenty of reason to put ANOTHER 90 hours in a game dosent mean engaging to you?
lol they have star rail a 90
The analysis you've been waiting for. We're planning to deliver a much more in-depth technical review for Starfield but we're kicking off with answers to some of the big questions: how solid is performance? What about bugs and polish? How does Xbox Series S shape up bearing in mind we've seen nothing of the S version pre-launch? You have questio...
kuru kuru > space skyrim
Hmm, D4 was petty fun initially but not much replay value for casuals
man so many people complaining about lack of upscaling when it seems the game is cpu bound
lcoked solid to 30 isnt terrible
better than studder at 60
what do you think the amout of people running a 4k vvr on xbox
your juices are so tasty, buddy
Rendog - Drinking milk he just milked in Minecraft
idk and I dont care, it's a feature of the console and adding a toggle to cap it at 60 isntead or whatever isn't hard to add
average console player never changes option in games though
ok still not hard or much work to add and there are people that would prefer more frames
hell I prefer the performance mode in FF16 on ps5 even though that lowers the quality as well
give the series X a series S preset that allows for more
Starfield Review "Buy, Wait, Never Touch?"
Starfield is coming out soon from Bethesda. Thanks to them for the very early review code. Lets see if it was worth it.

30fps lock should not be a thing for anything anymore
ACG who usually is pretty honest with his opinions
Seems to dig it
But yeah I agree with the consensus, it should have been a lot more seamless
But that's just cause they used Creation Engine for a fuckin Space RPG
If this was Elder Scrolls 6 it would be game of the decade
Minimal bugs is the most surprising thing
Why use an engine that can't do proper procedural generation and seamless transitions for a space game??
Well, the game pretty much released as expected
Engine is main issue
Doesn't really matter to be fair, considering Elder Scrolls 6 is the next main game, and that's where this engine will shine
es6 with miltiple contiants instead of planets
Scrolls 6 is highly unlikely to deal with more than 2 or 3 countries which will be essentially same as Oblivion or Skyrim
I would be surprised if Bethesda even decide to include transportation like naval stuff
Eh, for the amount of negative titles, it sure has a good rating
so, appears the game seems fine, early content people seem split upon, performance is a meme
The game was always going to be fine, and I did tell you it was not going to have bugs
In denial
It's sad about perf
Again, I was being realistic with the game, I am mostly annoyed that they went with Creation Engine for this type of game
3080 struggling at 1080p to run 30 while not being cpu limited seems a joke
With fsr
The price you pay for 16 times the detail
Why not continue to work on Creation 2 and have a side project like New Vegas remake or Fallout 3 Remake as a demonstrator until you finally properly use it with Elder Scrolls 6, and for Starfield they pick a game engine that can properly handle space exploration, like Unreal
Where are you seeing this?
99% gpu load 30fps lol

omegalul and from the shots it doesn't even look nice
Nah it does look nice, that's the whole point of it
5800x x.x
They went full photogrammetry
I wasn't interested to begin with but seeing this I'll just write it off to "buy when it's 3€"
When there was some anyway
I have no clue why the assholes made the data so blurry
Seems that game is meant to use FSR2 just for passable framerate
What a meme
if they can fix the performance I might try the game at some point
2080 is close to a 3060ti, not too bad if I got med setting
My friend will probably ignore my concerns and keep his pre ordered deluxe edition and moan about perf
I wonder what the hell did they do to make modern GPUs struggle
So, VRAM wise even 8GB is alright
Not putr effort into it
given the consoles are locked at 30 and drop, lots of issues I bet
What did they do to make performance so damn bad
As with all games lately
not all
Running worse than Star Citizen omegalul?
I swear if the answer is in photogrammetry, I'll be annoyed
Ok all games that matter
I'm pretty sure cause it's their first time using actual real-world scanned textures and models
also false
They are hella unoptimized and full of vectors that shouldn't be there
Star citizen doesn't run terrible these days?
Ok games that look pretty
also false
If you have a monster CPU and decent GPU it runs great
photogrammetry is how you capture it, if you dont make the polycount normal afterwards that isnt on the capturing
Inb4 some game made by a single dude that lasts 2 hours
FF16
lies of p has been running amazingly
That's a lie
I feel like the benchmarks might need revisiting, cause day 1 patch is going to bring performance improvements, not to mention that AMD driver brings 11% extra perf just with a new driver
baldurs gate seemed to run fine from what I saw
I heard it's rough to run
BG3 is fine
A bit unoptimized but it runs on my mid-end system
Tbf I heard horrible things about Armored Core and running it on Ultra, it runs like butter
So, mostly low-end hardware gamers are crying
AC was a fromsoftware game and they didnt cap it to 60 this time that was a surprise
better in full res
Ah, sorry
Abysmal
Oh lol the IGN Starfield review is a sham
Apparently that specific reviewer gave Prey a 4
Prey, like, that was a really good game
Lol
7/10 too much space?
It's IGN
You don't ever take them serious
It's 4k
insanely bad fps
Well at least there's no 60 FPS cap
yeah and on 4k it reaches 50 fps on low xD
I only care for 1440p
wait
Turns out rendering at a lower resolution really helps
why is the fsr chart
It's gonna look like a blurry mess
have a diff average for ultra than the gpu charty
I remember running it on my 7700k/1070ti pretty well
gpu chart is no fsr
as it says
Jesus
yeah
on the gpu chart no fsr for 3080 is 40.5
on the fsr chart no fsr ultra is 38.8
Good old Bethesda
Finally less buggy but abysmal perf
profile pic says enough
Like, it's an american thing innit
Yeah kind of speaks about why that rating perhaps isn't really representative of the game
Shame, my 5800x3d won't be the bottleneck
idk i can somewhat trust the overall rating number
Shit like this does make me want a 5800x3d tho
So, I'm now starting to question the framerate
Still waiting for it to go down
If a 3060Ti can barely to above 40FPS at 1080p
I have a feeling something doesn't sit right here
Xbox SeS equivalent maybe
well they dont say what they expect you to run the game at with the min specs
Maybe they just need to recompile the shaders or something
i feel like starfield will be a like it but cant love it game
Mhmm
itll just be fallout in space
7800x3d dropped in price recently
Waiting for 250
Finding it hard to justify going from a 5600x
It's very low on my list
Maybe day 1 patch will have major performance improvements
Shouldn't day 1 patch be coming out like right now anyways, with early access?
Talking about Starfield after a thorough run of the title via a review copy from Bethesda quite a bit in advance. As long as this review is, I deliberately left out a lot of stuff that would've constituted spoilers.
PC Specs:

8pm est
In 7 hours
120 houirs to 100%
doesnt this depend on how much side tracked they get
i can spend 150hrs doing fuck all in skyrim
Well yeah Beth does use radiant quests which is basically redoable quests (go, kill, return)
It's good to know that Todd will probably go on from being known for being a liar and making glitched up and bugged games
To Todd who makes unplayable games cause performance sucks
Either way, an improvement
also performance is less likely something that modders can fix
so idk if I call it an improvement
Uhh, they can I'm rather sure
But, they will try anyways
Very unappealing
I said less likely because fixing performance if its general issue and not just some code that doesnt start the quest in order is a lot harder
especially without source code access
Like, thinking about it, does this game even use LODs?
I think that's where the perf went
Somewhere they forgot to optimize for the sake of visuals
Modders can easily tweak that
what is it with people just randomly throwing out words and think thats where the performance issue is from
you mention LODs another guy on another server is fanatical about cube maps causing issues
Armchair gamedevs who have heard those fancy words and like to throw them around
I once saw a post on reddit that claimed pokemon S&V looked like shit because the game has to generate unique pokemons in the background.
idk creation engine but unity unreal and co have auto lod features since forever
funniest shit I ever read
lmfao
Pretty sure it has had some kind of LOD system forever, else the distant land rendering would never work
always reminds me about the audiophiles that convinced themselves a different version of memcpy() was making sound better
I mean the keyboard hobby has this too
people do 500 mods on their keyboard and the sound is totally better guys
especially the baby powder inside the USB housing
Well boys and girls lets hope starfield is good and yall enjoy it
because it's metric
I would love to be just for the skills and money
Not the psycho shit though
xd
Cuz nato
the real joke is that the emoji is called mm

ok I stop shitposting now
Wdym
"CD Projekt's move from RedEngine - its own in-house development platform - to the widely-used Unreal Engine, was the core factor here"
Why can't you just do 2 expansions?
RedEngine isn't expiring or anything
Or caliber, where smaller is more. Unless you are talking naval artillery, where it's something different entirely
what was the message before that
Wdym smaller is more? Maybe for shotgun shots
shit like this
cailber is the LENGTH
oh yeah the inverse one was gauge
bore is the size inside
Yeah
It's the thicc though
Shotgun shots are in gauges
yeah for big guns
Ah we talking something else
cannons where bore x lengh/bore
where length/bore was cailber
Man.. they sure are excited
which there revese naming replaced bore somehow
idk why
like a canon would be 12inch 8 cailber
Ayayaya
12 inch bore and 12x8 long
I don't remember a bethesda game that isn't FO76 where that is even feasible
Uh, no
Elder Scrolls caps out at 150 I think
Similar with Fallout 4
.....wat
so add all the skill levels
Lana, come on
Watch the vid we discussed it here years ago
Lol Starfield apparently has NG+
so level 252 was max
no that actuall max is crazy like 25k
Skyrim is level capped?
my bad
You can always use commands
65k
FFFF
but there are a total of 251 perks in skyrim
so level 252 gives you all perks
Not all
Very few do
Most have also level caps
I think there was a video ages ago that looked at enemies that have unlimited level scaling
And I remember only one lol
Magic Anomalies are strange, aggressive wisp-like entities created as a result of Ancano's activities in the College of Winterhold quest Containment. Floating at about head level and typically swarming in groups, they attack with a magical power at close range, dealing quite heavy frost and melee damage as well as exploding when killed; these ex...
No level cap whatsoever
Which is funny cause magic anomalies were used only once
For a single quest
And never again
in morriwind you can tech level for ever
same in obivion too
why you all not link sources

That's so disappointing
Yet we have no man's sky
Absolutely awesome way of doing it
its not good
and its a crappy srinkwrap label
pretty disapointing
I just like the bottle
yeah its a shitty plastic srinkwrap
Oh really
Well, we knew that you can not land on planets yourself
However other players reported traveling by themselves in space between planets
Interesting that this person seems to say that you can't
wow so you can travel in an empty area and never land
My friend doesn't seem at all phased
did expect you can at least land xd
If I had the pre order deluxe id be cancelling rn....
Tbf, they might be able to
If that spaceship moves at 150 mph..
That looks like several ten of thousands of miles until that planet's surface
I hope it's not just an illusion, need more information on this
No man's sky did it well
And they are wildly different games
Well I think the issue is you can't even get close to planets
One's a sandbox thing, other is an RPG
For a prompt lol
yeah I didnt follow the game I just kind of expected that to be in since that seemed to be a basic feature lol
if it was known before then people who ordered collectors probably were aware
and thats fine
And the fact planets are sectioned into pieces is lame
think its just a bit disappointing
Again, I pretty much set my expectations straight with Starfield, I knew it will be bugless, it'll have tons of quests, and it'll be fun to cruise around for a bit with ships, shoot baddies and everything
Shortcomings were also evident
Creation Engine is horrible for this type of job
I have no clue why they used this
Because money
Use it for a remake of sorts if you want to test it out, not Starfield
Unreal would have been a lot better of a choice for Starfield
The only desirable thing for me was the vast system and exploiting it
But it's just another loading screen sim
super disappointing, not really a space game then
;_;
Btw, peeps that had gaming PCs before the year of 2018
Because that's roughly when I got a proper gaming PC
Was game optimizations and being able to run games a consideration back in the mid to early 2010s?
Yes
Obviously it was, but were there outliers were something comes out and it's horrendously bad
yes
just look at techpowerup or other sites reviews and see for yourselves
massivly
stuff moved faster then
so getting stuff to run on old hardware was a ton more than lower lod and textures
lol everything ran mostly horribly
high fps gaming is quite new
but talking here about 2000-2010
Baldur's Gate 3 - Larian Studios
2011 was skyrim
Well considering my shitty ass APU ran that at about 30FPS, that seemed easy to run?
it had to run on ps3
I'm just wondering with this whole Starfield being not able to run at 60FPS with most hardware
Was that a common occurence between 2000-2015 game releases
dude ur game would explode back then if u tried on highest setting
Less gameplay, more sex pls
then u needed to put lowest setting
Lol, was this sort of a Vista thing, where they had to notify people that "You can actually run Vista with this CPU", but on GPU side
I don't remember Skyrim being abysmal to run
38 fps with max settings
Although Oblivion did scale down pretty well graphically
yeah it did
When it came out me and my friends were laughing how ugly ultra was
it ran on potatos with low
Back then many games had high settings that just wasn't feasible on hardware at the time
whgats crazy
Crossfire and SLI ❤️
and the 9600 was mid range
high end in 2008
single card went from 38 to 60
so not terrible
but shows how demanding it was
crysis medium gfx XD
my 2008 build workstation has a pair of 4K msrp quadros from 2008
and it struggles to play obivion at 2560x1600
but yeah it feels like hardware has outpaced software ages ago
Oh yeah funny thing with Starfield
Arc users are absolutely shafted
Prolly won't be able to play at 1080p at all
No XeSS either
FSR ultra performance, go!
Starfield looks boring from that Alanah video
And they say XCOM math is rough.
lol
for the love of god, what the fuck are you talking about
I have changed my mind, if I ever had any mind, about DLSS3
RTX 4060 mobile with DLSS3 on in Hogwarts Legacy feels like just free frames
Elephant Power up is so cursed xd
I thought it would introduce weird artifacts and input lag but
It felt pretty damn normal
it does introduce input lag though
If it did, it's not noticeable
just if you have high enough fps to start with its not that noticeable
Yeah I think it ran at about 40-50 or so without frame gen
With frame gen it's still pretty good
high enough is more like 100
Again just my experience
if you dont notice the input lag idk, be lcuky I guess
Yeah hogwarts is pretty slow paced
Could help with not noticing
But yeah rather impressive
FSR3 can't come soon enough

Starfield is an interesting study
Looks great, runs like shit, people complain
Tears of the kingdom: looks shit, runs like shit, people love it
Even though I found it really boring tbf, even from gameplay perspective
difference between running bad ona switch vs running bad on a top of the line pc
Yeah but still, difference between platforms
Switch peeps somehow are just contempt with being shafted
PC users very much not so
That latest Pokemon game is still just a horrendous example of how bad Switch's hardware is
And people bought it, record breakingly so
a switch costs like 250, a 3080 alone costs over thrice that
and that card has same or less frames than a pokemon game
see the issue?
Still, the difference between the reception of games that run terrible on both platforms is still different
yes because the expectation is vastly different
Tbf I think the expectation in general should be properly functioning games
Not 10FPS dips
Gaijin absolutely smashes trailers lol https://youtu.be/fJrT2vP-mpQ
