the thing is, sometimes the development takes long long years, and when the (possibly outdated) engine was first made some things were not possible, and architecture was set up for different things, then as development moves on, you get more and more features and some just become impossible without rewriting most of the engine, which is also impossible. So it's not as easy as "just code it, Minecraft has that feature". Minecraft was build ground up with the ideas in mind and made custom for that

afaik Fallout76 basically used a 2011 engine, which was a modded/rewritten engine from 1997

same for Skyrim and the rest of the games in that era

id tech 7 for starfield would not work

being a software developer that has listend to the devs talking about what changes they made in the engine and what tricks they used to make it run really well for the game they wanted to make

id tech 5 was iirc the engine made to suit the Cell procressor in the Ps3 to split up tasks more efficently and run great on that

Too bad, there's 2 other guards looking at those rocks, so have to take them out first.
Bummer! There's sniper looking over BOTH of those guards at the same time.
Take out that sniper, BUT WAIT! There's another sniper on the opposite tower. And they looking at each other.
To get to the second sniper you have to clear out other compound full of enemies below him.
Clear the compound below the sniper just so you can get close to him.
You take out of those snipers at the same time after 10> failed attempts trying to time it perfectly so the passing patrol below would be looking away.
Then you go after the guards looking at the rocks (just like normal guards do), also try timing it perfectly with patrols routes.
Get caught by a random dude chilling behind a rock that you missed looking over BOTH OF THOSE GUARDS. And you guessed it, one of "Rock" guards occasionally looks back at him.
After 50> failed attempts you manage to perfectly time every kill with patrol routes, making sure that other guards for 0.5 seconds look in the other direction, hoping that pathfinding is not gonna break once again getting you stuck in the tree or a random rock.
Finally go for the rocks, and drop them on some random guards that weren't even on your way.
Congratulations you just finished 10% of the level.

AC6's biggest issue is somehow being the worst camera in any game ever designed

did my best, but it feels like FH4 is missing something. I've nailed down the speed, the acceleration, even handling's better on paper, but the car just doesn't wanna stick to the road as i'd like it

it feels more like the RX-8 in FH4 is for drifting only, especiall given its perks there while the FH5 version is closer to the real thing

like they're almost the same settings and yet the FH5 version's GLUED to the road, even at high speeds

the FH4 version likes to go sideways with too much steering at 100+ km/h
