you mean like the caution / alerted statuses?
but anyway don't think it would give anything to a game if a chase worked like that a guy had to run down from having coffee at a police station to the roof's helipad and then lifting off from there and flying to the chase :E
I would appreciate realistic police in games like GTA
Helicopters updating your location on sight, peds calling cops to update your location that way
Not just magic, cops know exactly where you are
Like, come on, do it realistically
Cameras, civilians, air vehicles etc should actually have a purpose
well that's what they do in gta5? you can clearly see civilians calling the cops
Yeah but they don't really do anything other than give you 1 star level
The actual position of your character is always known to the cops in-game
I think a dynamic system where them knowing your last reported location actually matters would be rather fun, where you can actually outsmart the cops
that's not what it says in a wiki I'm reading but whatever
you can escape the cops unless you are doing one of the heists in certain spots
but they do look at last known spot etc.
yeah they have a fov and search near the last known pos, also civilians report to them if you do anything weird and thus the last known pos updates
it doesnt have pixel perfect searches so you cant do amzing tricks to behind a bush etc. but you can still hide sometimes just they are not super blind
Well in my experience GTA wanted level always felt arcadey
I wonder what they cooked up for GTA VI ngl, those leaked gameplay snippets looked really good
I've only seen the big butt woman shooting at random things so far
I had absolutely no intent in doing this but somehow I managed to recreate the damn annoying fan from Oblivion
lol
By Azura!
Well now it's going to be "By the Constellation!"
Interesting, cloud saves are bugging out
Hah
- Turn off the Cloud Sync to Baldur's Gate 3
- Remove the folder "C:\Users\myUser\AppData\Local\Larian Studios\Baldur's Gate 3"
- Start the game and not enable the Cloud Sync.
Now you can save the game locally š
I'm almost tempted to say Pirates win again.
When did they not win?
I mean... BG3 is DRM-Free, so for once I feel bad for the developer.
We already had our major win recently when PayDay 3 was announced to be always-online
So nobody will bother cracking that ass
haha I actually experienced that fucking bug last night when I started
quicksaved once and proceeded near the end of the starting area, all the while whacking f5 like I normally do, then my pc crashed and I had to restart from the start of the level
SYNCING SYNCING SYNCING fucker
I don't trust cloud syncing at all after losing hours of savegames from "this clearly empty cloud sync is the right now, we purged the older one which actually had savegames" on Steam.
Some games also sync graphical and other settings, which... is not amazing. My computers aren't identically specced, why would you assume this to be the case for the average user? š
The assumption more likely is that they think you reinstall it and then keep your settings
But yeah, bad idea
I'd be down with that - But so far every time it just spreads it across all systems. You don't select a profile or anything.
I just enabled it because of crossplay, gonna play it later with my gf on ps5
well not crossplay, cross-save
Unless a service offers me to rollback syncing, I don't trust it to keep my savegames safe.
that should actually be an option to choose when uninstalling a game or program in general. When i'm uninstalling stuff it doesn't mean i wanna keep the setting all the time. In fact keeping the settings by uninstalling a program tells me that they're applying shady methods. If i'm uninstalling something i'm well aware of the fact that my data might disappear and it should be like this all the time. Uninstall = Fuck off my PCs
i do get that keyboards and mice with built-in memory chips will keep the settings until these are changed and i'm totally fine with that. But a pure program or game should completely disappear from my drives if i decide to uninstall it. Not just every file of it, but also the flags it set in the registry
I was on about cloud saves keeping that info instead of just save files of game states
i'm fine with keeping it in a cloud for a specific amount of time before wiping that data
huh
this is not privacy related at all
this was about a game having settings in the save files that steam backs up in cloud saves vs not having it in there so on different pcs you have the same config which isn't great since thats usualyl different hardware
Wullf Den previously called out the touchpads on the Steam Deck as useless and shouldnt be there as wel as desktop mode being pointless
He just uploaded a video "I was wrong about the Deck touchpads" with the Nintedo Wii homescreen on the screen of the Deck
Kojima will redefine the genre he himself invented?
inb4 it's a game about beaches.
And a bunch of dead whales
And floating weird creatures in the sky
And babies in incubators?
Honestly idk what Kojimbo is doing anymore, seems he's into shock value nowadays
Isn't that the walking simulator?

the same day i get proper high quality Gen 1-4 remasters
Hell, even a good Gen 3 remaster without the entire parallel universe bullshit would do. No X evolutions, no big bloated crap mode. Plain, simple Gen 3 remaster with new moves, the battle zone returning, new places to discover, etc.

But if I get it know I can keep it forever?

Interesting
My game after pirating it without knowing anything about that
This game seems like one of those games where they are in the "actually worth the money" list
No mod support though, hm
Baldurs?
banana
thats the next mass effect
Although I have a bit of a gripe with games like Baldur's and I guess by extension Divinity
They are so damn slow
Uhh... what
BD supports mods?
We've had a mod manager for months and everything.
I'm interested
It's not official, but it works just fine. Hop on over to Nexusmods to see the beginnings of release version mods.
Ahh, it's the "edit" type of mods
Classic .pak approach, yes.
Not really additions but more like game content edits to achieve something else
Not the type of mods I like
The game has been out for less than 24 hours.
vex wants to make baldurs gate 3 into mass effect
Most mods made during EA didn't really have context for the full game š
Nah, Skyrim
ok im now against those mods
Or Xcom 2 actually, Xcom had pretty damn good solid mod support
Didn't ask
how would mods make baldurs into xcom
I wouldn't be surprised if they added an official SDK for it eventually.
that be one impressive conversion mod
It already plays somewhat like Xcom
Just add in some space guns and it's as good as xcom
Mojang's been doing some really questionable things lately
As I understand this is not new. They just rewrote existing terms to be more readable.
But terrible.
ALMOST accidentally made gnome hitler.
That was not a sentence I was ever expecting from you, Mansen
I was playing around with character generation, and when I looked at the final result...
Dark Urges, Gnome and the beard. It all fell into place TOO well

Dark urges was the only, what's the name of it, origin? I had available for a paladin
So I was like "ok idk what this does, can't change it anyways so whatever"
I regret not picking other classes cause this origin sucks
It's the only non-companion origin - Interesting concept imo.
But I'm still going to finish the game as Astarion first.
I nearly went and restarted the whole campaign yesterday
Something something dark urges and episodes of amnesiac ruthless slaughter

Some questionable writing
There is lots more like this
main translator is a big fan of dumb jokes when he can sneak them in
BD3 actually contains some of the most annoying game design I also hate
Nearly everything is time limited
So if you encounter some kind of area with something going on, if you don't do it right now, you will be severely punished
Like, that's not how I approach games, I tend to run around places looting
More games should have this toggle
I also have this feeling that this game is really not meant for people that have never even seen a DnD board or player Baldur's Gate before
It's all so tightly knit to the tabletop that I have no clue what half of the stats are meant to do
wtf is 1d6?
one six sided die
Okay but what does that mean
that you can roll between 1-6
Yeah I have no clue
I have never seen anyone play DnD before let alone play it myself
You know, rolling one of these
Yes
And it you land on something it hits?
A 4 sided dice
Think it's translated for you right above, 4~16 damage
Itās the same as xcom just shown via dice rolls instead of 10-15 damage
Yeah but what's the target for dice rolls?
Or rather it shows both here anyway
It's just damage roll
Add those together and there's your damage
You deal 10 damage
Also as for targeting it looks like the spells just does a tiny AOE
Where you have to get a specific number to hit
Usually that is with a d20 and you just have to hit the number aka if you have to hit a 10 or higher you have a 50% chance to hit
ROLL THY D20
Why would you have a 20 sided dice in anything?
Because 5% increments work well
Different spells will have differing effects. Some require your caster make a dex based check to hit, some require the target make a save using a corresponding ability check, some just deal aoe
Clearly you've never heard anything about tabletop roleplaying
I have never really played anything tabletop in my life tbf
Neither have I
Even PokƩmon works in 5% steps for hit chances
D20 is just a physical version of it
A d20 makes critical hits and failures rarer, but not impossible making them special
You would be surprised how many game use a d20 system just donāt show it
Darkest dungeon does it too internally
Soe games do use a d100 system, but usually I am not much of a fan
Ok but why not just rand() % 100 + 1
Do such things even exist IRL?
yes
Well probably they do but that would look a bit silly to have 100 sides
you can also make any dice by making it a cylinder
You can do that too but for players itās simpler to see a gif has a 55% chance than 67 and 39%
Just adds extra unneeded levels
Yeah see that's just a ball now
Simpler to balance if you say 5% is the lowest change for something to happen vs 1%
That as well
Imagine PokƩmon games had 99% hitchance moves lol
So many children turning violent from rage when missing lmao
well the gen 1 games have a bug where you can miss 100percent moves and the nasterball can fail

Wow I sold my Baldurs Gate 3 Collectors Edition dice skin for 375$ on ebay
The collectors edition was 270+30$ shipping, and the skin alone sold for more htan it's cost. I should've bought more of them lol. Shame.

For real some IDIOT paid 400$ for a fucking cosmetic
inb4 DLC in a couple of months
That is barely noticable
Or just a hacked mod.
Hacked mod? You can already do that
Literally possible to just use you know "High seas" methods
To get that dice skin right now
This man put down 400$ to have it
lol
Most players are legitimate customers. I doubt you'll convince anyone who already bought the game to pirate it all over.
Just... I mean I'm happy for me, but this is nuts
I dunno if you even realize how small a cosmetic change this is
This
Changes to purple
That's about it
Also they talked about doing a re-run of CES...
Yeah
This, but in game
That dice skin changes to this
400$
Gamers are lost theses man. Lost. We went from laughing at 2$ horse armor to peopl dropping this much on nothing
Hell yeah
Like this isn't even a cool cosmetic!
I'd at least I dunno, be able to work it in my head somehow if this was an incredible cosmetic. It'd still be dumb, but at least I could process it
its crazy how the game is praised for not having mtx
and at the same time
people crave mtx and throw money around
larian is taking a moral high road, but financially, they are leaving money on the table
sadly
It's not
The market speaks
Shit wouldn't exist if it wasn't for consumers showing they want it.
Idk who it was but a dev described usual players as bottom feeders with micro transactions
They don't care
ofc
It's the small select group of whales who we won't ever change
Ik you know already and it's obvious
But we keep going through this cycle
Yeah, it's just said. I also do feel bad for the people that have poor financial control. It's exploitative. But it pays so it stays.
That's why I'm a cheapskate, and only buy on sale and when the game received it's needed fixes
I've been burned by battlefield too many times :p
Yep being a patient gamer has its benefits
Longest lead ever :')
While still tipping my toes into it I mostly gave up on battlefield when they released BF3, I know it was popular but to me it seemed like a mistake. While they did walk some of it back I still never really got back into it.

Ah crap
@magic storm I am hearing whispers
CS2 open beta launching today
ESL apparently confirmed that CS2 open beta is coming out on the 10th
So in 4 days
Cities skylines has an esl competition?
It has a redbull one but nevermind that
So basically they closed a new studio that has yet to ship it's first game, that does not seem too worrying.
Rather early
Aug 9th
Time to crack is instant lol
Bethesda doesn't DRM
It just works
Well copy/pasting planets takes up a lot of space...
To be fair I have not been following the game at all and would be in no hurry to play it after release.
The size does not seem too unreasonable though for the type of game it is.
I bet it will be f4 all over again
With the decrypt bs
Taking longer than downloading, it was funny as in this community everyone was losing their mind wanting to play at 12am but it was taking forever.... I just downloaded it, launched, laughed and went to bed.
as for download vs install size, could be something in the 150-200gb range which is not completely unreasonable for a modern title of this scale. Remember GTA 5 when it launched required 70GB and that was a long time ago.
Anyone beenusing their wooting to play Balders Gate 3? Any tips for layout?
Nice, it's a good game so far. I loved the old RPG's like Neverwinter Nights 2 and the original Baldurs Gate games
Never played the original baldur's gate but I did enjoy neverwinter nights 2 a long time ago, I would probably enjoy the game but I will wait out on it for some time.
What layout
Just use the one the game came out with
You don't need rapid trigger or analog for a borderline point and click adventure
Yes you do
I mean any point for analog or fn layering lol
Tbh I could have gotten full size but never use my numpad outside of work so I would have been happy with a TKL or smaller if they offered it but the space saved over the full size is nice for gaming especially in my fps games
This is the greatest state of the game of All Time

TMNT, my favorite gods
? pretty normal
you couldnt really make 4 turtles and make them somehow playable characters in a moba
Reskins of existing characters? Sure. Changing the character completely to something else.
Less so
I'd argue changing a skin from a monkey god to a turtle is more than "Just a reskin". I'm talking themed skins like winter, pirate, steampunk et cetera. This is straight up "so we changed the character completely"
they already do that with normal skins that arent crossovers
would argue the transfomers one is more extreme than a turtle heh

I don't play Smite. Or MOBAS š
But I would take offense to Blizzard changing a character like that with a skin in OW.

for nearly all skins the skills are still distinct so you dont really get caught off guard and know what you play against
also first person view vs zoomed out 3rd person does change how in your face it is
Like how they did Nova Widowmaker or One Punch Man Doomfist? XD
True lol
I'm still sad we never got it

that just means more people who will take 120 caps
a pitiful amount of in game currency

Lae'zel is Drax confirmed lol

Yeah no clue sorry
Yeah, its a great series of movies
just realized RE4R doesn't have a way to delete saves that isn't the good ol "disable cloud saves and delete your local data"
holy shit
WHY DO GAMES NOT SHIP WITH SOMETHING AS BASIC AS BEING ABLE TO DELETE SAVES IN THE LOAD MENU NOW
bg3 is now the 9th highest all time peak player count on steam
within striking distance of hogwarts
Must be a commercial success
I wonder if that'll just inspire more high quality games

Also what does arabian themed game and "fire demons" have in common??
obv it will
Jinn are like the only thing people know about arabian culture and those are quite often literal fire demons?
So itās like asking why a Chinese game has dragons in them lol
That does not look like any creature I have ever seen from mythology

I played Valhalla
so how does it surprise you
you played ac with mtx
and now you say screw off to ac with mtx
Yeah but I don't remember fire demons as mtx
so your issue isnt MTX in SP games but whats for sale in the MTX
I mean the fact that mtx exists too
But the fact that the content they are selling is non-sensical as well is also insulting
what are you talking about here
it's sensical in the sense that they've had supernatural shit all over the place already, and like I said Ifrit is very much related to arabic stuff. also, especially in origins it was really prominent in the dlc's
is it what I want in an AC game? absolutely not, but it fits in what they've been doing for a while already
Wrong on that front, somewhat
Mirage is supposed to be a "return to the old roots"
why would you trust ubi X)
Which is the assassin order and templars fighting over the relics of a precursor civilization
Supernatural? Yes
But not mythological
That was the big distinguishing factor
adam & eve wasn't mythological?
Ubi with the reboots went all mythos and it was annoying

Hell even hot coffee was a thing
No that was about pre order numbers
Looking into this thing they themselves actually admitted it
So it was true eh?
I mean, logically speaking, PS5 is so damn expensive that the adoption of the platform is one of the main problems
I've lost faith in Enix over the years, especially since they've both canceled one of my favorite franchise and put the other on indefinite hold between Sleeping Dogs and Deus Ex
Steep price the second
And the biggest nail on the head is the exclusivity factor
Fuck platform exclusivity
They sold sub companies including the ones that could make deus ex games so thatās not in squares hand anymore
Yeah, still on hiatus with that company too and from what I hear they're not doing g well after the IP purchase so I'm not holding my breath for a new Deus Ex game
Which is annoying since Mankind Divided ended on a cliffhanger
Merely meant to show that not on square anymore
I got you
They were still the ones to fist put the game on hiatus and canceled the other franchise
We need more fist person cyberpunk genre games
And more Open City RPG's
It's an underexplored style

@zealous rampart I don't want you to shut up. I just want you to explain the shit you posted and not just loosely, but accurately
I did lol. It helps you saturate higher polling rates
i doubt that a polling rate beyond 1k changes your game significantly
or your mouse reaction
i mean a 1k polling rate is a 1 ms reaction time
4k sounds nice on paper, but i highly doubt ANYONE can react in a fraction of a millisecond
Iām not trying to argue that anyone should use it or that itās game changer
But it does make a difference. Even if weāre talking nanoseconds (I commented on other thread we were talking about nanoseconds also) lol
I personally think 4k polling/3200dpi/360hz is about as responsive as one could possible want. At the moment at least
at this point i'm wondering when the first Wooting mouse comes
never probably
When there's a reason to and when there's something unique that can be done.
All wooting products offer something new and different to the table.
Yeah optical sensors and 4k- 8k polling and sub 60g mice. What more could you want
Right now the market is focused on weight etc
There's definitely room for improvement a lot of people don't think about.
Optical basically already rapid trigger tho

What vid
Don't even know one exists
Actually, thanks
I forgot what day it was today
That's useful info since weekly manga comes out today
Happy days
Too many things
Monday is Nagatoro and Sono bisque doll
Tuesday is Kanojo okarishimasu
Wednesday is oshi no ko
Thursday is black clover occasionally
If a new one piece comes out, I check the chapter summaries
Idk if I forgot any, my memory is ass
So when do you enter a new act in Baldur's Gate 3?
I just reached 34 hours and just entered ||the shadow lands||
Is that still act 1?

Shadow is act 2
Game definitely needs better optimization
One good idea is to turn slow HDD mode on
It does not increase load times at all; it uses more RAM though and will reduce your hitching
Even if you're on a NVME
No issues here
still not sure why some games are so conservative about ram usage
like fucking hell, i have 64gb, just load everything youād possibly need and forget about it
because they dont want to force all their players to buy 128gb of ram just so the game can be almost entirely in ram
and id imagine the engines arent necessarily build around maxing out ram
you do not have to force anyone to do anything if you have code that decides how to act based on the amount of free ram
miss the times when the solution to having bad developers was not keeping bad developers
hollow best game developer
huh, I have a shitty ass old pc (i7-4790k @ 4.7ghz, gtx 1080) and I my fps hovers around 60-110. only hitching I really get is when I open the leveling menu or inventory or something
Consoles
If you have it on console you donāt want to rewrite your entire game to be able to use more ram on pc then
It will happen already due to other factors but going further just takes a lot of extra work for not much gain
If anyone wants to play palia use my referral xo
Just realized how cute one of the rewards are
Why though
The game's in closed beta though
Unless your referral code has closed beta access I'm not interested
Let's pretend it does
I FINALLY managed to get through the first area earlier today. So many restarts - And I'm still technically not done exploring all the content there is in the first area.
That's definitely enjoyable and not full of mtx
The pathfinder games are great - but they are VERY wordy.
BG3 offers fully voiced... well everything. And up close with facial animations.
Mhmm. I'm currently binging ioverse campaigns.
never looked at anyone else play dnd before
yea
idk I just started playing dnd myself
yikes... thats a lot of hours
There is quite a bit to do ngl
I'm at the underdark right now, havign fun with my spore buddies
Although weirdly enough idk what I spent more time on, playing the game or reloading saves to retry dice rolls
Same - Saved that area for last, since those big hoRney bois seemed like a big challenge š
wrong way to play imo but you guys do you
Not really a wrong to play, since the game is so open ended.
Given how strict the inspiration system is, and the utter bs of some dialogue options... I don't care š
I will absolutely savescum a roll I shouldn't be able to take.
Ever heard of taking 10, Larian?
The trouble with video game D&D is the lack of a DM. Things will appear very arbitrary, because they are. The game isn't set up for "what ifs" in the way it needs to be to allow for dice rolls to be truly final.
A great early example of utter WTF-ness, is that if you fail a very simple read thoughts roll at the druid camp, you make the entire area hostile to you. In a non-hostile conversation - no way out.
But on the flip side if you backstab a goblin boss, a guard will just go "oi! don't do that, please bribe me 50 gold and we'll call it even"
well you're the DM so you're allowed to save-scum
eh
that is not ideal though
you have no fine line between a situation that you fucked and have to deal with and a situation you should be able to still weasle out
but like I'm roleplaying a character, if I want to try something my character is not adept at, if I fail, then I'll just accept the outcome and move on with the thing that happened
It's a game, so who are you to tell me how to play a game
I'm not, you're the DM basically so you're allowed
Dice rolls make absolutely no sense sometimes
Give a master lockpicker a lock, and he won't have to roll a dice to see if he fails to open something
A lot of elements are infuriatingly RNG for no reason
I mean
But it's DnD so whatever
that is what you have stats for
you can even legit cheat and install mods to make your game play out how you want, I don't "care" about that. I was just saying that in my books it's cheating and not my preferred way to play for sure
At the end of the day it's a game - And some of the weird concessions they've made to turn a tabletop game into a video game are... not great.
I need to teleport to a camp constantly to rest up and pass time - which doesn't have any real effect in the game. So with that being the case, just let me rest anywhere in older games. Or just let me rest to full by sitting down for ten seconds.
as a master lockpicker you should have so many bonuses that it would be hard to fail outside a critical fail
"to rest up and pass time - which doesn't have any real effect in the game" It does actually
Also I have so many camp supplies now, that even the strongest character in my party can't pick up the bag of them, so I have to spend a ton of time juggling inventory space to use the supplies.
the resting mechanic is kinda weird yea
A lot of interesting story beats happen when you end the day, or reach your camp
I mean, not going to spoil anything but
I can go there any time anyway.
- inventory management is a bit tedious
You can unlock a whole new ability tree just through events in the camp
Resting by itself does not change that. An NPC could literally just go "lets camp up" like in other games as a prompt for the events.
yeah the inventory is not great, but workable
Don't be tempted by the liar.

no spoil pls
Volo's chill, guy's great
btw you can just send your camp supply bag back to camp..
Everything has a price - And promising you great powers is always something to think hard about. This is a constant theme in the game, both for the main quest and side stuff.
Naive people keep getting fucked over, and you should take that as a major hint not to do the same every time.
no point in having that stuff on hand anyway
That's the really big story beat I love about this game
I have well over 10 mindflayer parasites just sitting in the inventory
And can unlock some insane powerups
Anyway - I've installed a mod that lets me long rest after every fight, so I don't have to watch loading screens constantly, and I just drop the metric tonnes of sausges, pork loins and fish everything contains š
I wouldn't actually do that ngl
in my head the guardian is my character's father who raped a woman and left them to rot, interesting to see how it'll pan out and if anything fucks up my head-canon
Resting is actually important
Again a lot of events happen upon entering or sleeping
I'd prolly remove the supply mechanic though
It really isn't. I can go to the camp manually every so often, when an NPC complains about needing rest.
Problem solved.
Not missing out on anything there.
(You know - How the two previous games handled it perfectly. Don't fix what works, Larian š )
That guardian is damn annoying though
I have no clue how to perceive them
Evidently really not an enemy
But their advice is self-harm basically
I won't spoil that.
I've just been ignoring em
The rest change also lets me go full blast in all fights, instead of constantly worrying about some bs ambush two minutes from now I didn't account for, so I have constant fomo over using abilities I should be using much more... and scrolls... and potions.
Up the difficulty and it becomes an honestly much more enjoyable game - Gotta actually synergize. Like how Astarion and my Rogue/Monk tag team everything in melee to unlock sneak attacks (because those got weird changes... in 5e or BG3)
I do kinda like the challenge where I can't constantly spam tier 4 spells though
A lot of equipment has interesting boons just so you wouldn't have to go to sleep after each fight
When any random enemy will happily take me down to 10% HP in a single, lucky hit. They deserve the same š
Enemies do hit like a truck, but tbf when I can spam 4 fireballs then you can do the same
I'm trying to comprehend how are you able to get extra actions per turn with some characters, and not others
My Paladin moves twice per turn, others don't
The difference is that there's 16 of them, and four of me š
Goblins have way too much HP.
What difficulty are you even playing
crowd control stuff works
Hardest
Ah
I've found everything too easy so far, but I'm playing with the default difficulty
I don't have a lot of AoE or CC atm.
For me the camp was extremely easy cause I only went there once I finished underdark and grymforge
So basically already level 5 characters
With tons of buffing and AoE
I'm Multiclassing everyone except SH, because D&D and access to healing is so limited.
haven't tried yet, but I guess I gotta take a bit of rogue levels for my monk as well, since the backstory should work
He doesn't know
Something something one companion with it.
My Paladin also has 28HP heal on touch so technically I got 2
AoE spell
Pretty damn massive radius too
Astarion is a ranger, because it fits his backstory.
Flamegirl is multiclassed as Paladin, but the exp isn't there yet to make that pop off.
I'm Rogue/Monk assassin/shadow
Shadow is pure cleric for now, because I need the healing. Might multi her into fighter. (too many rogues already)
I don't use Gale, cause I find him obnoxious.
Wynn also off the table, cause too many duelist rogue types already š
Not to mention it scales with higher spell tiers
Shadow is actually a bit busted as a fighter
Something something spamming conjuration spells and spirit guardians
We are doing the same run then
I've had to hide all of the lootable worms away somewhere, since Astarion keeps pestering me to hand them over.

Ngl I killed that vampire off asap cause he seems ultra unreliable
I only picked Dark Urge, since Larian fucked up playable origins in general. If you're playing as the, you're mute - which is 90% of their charm and personality.
I made my own character and I don't find them that mute
I am the personality
If you pick Astarion as your character, you get zero of his voice lines. And that is... that IS Astarion.
it's funny how people are divided to two camps there, I like playing origin characters yes, but not as much as crafting wholly my own thing
I would never pick a fuckin vampire as my character
Oh yeah I had that question during character creation and never got any answers
Why is Larian thinking that a sorcerer and a wizard are different things?
Because they are - always have been.
They are basically one and the same as far as definitions are concerned
not in dnd
Wizard magic is taught. Sorcerer/Bard is innate and by blood or some other source outside of your control.
Warlock fits in the Sorc/Bard camp as well.
It's sad that they didn't grab the Avatar bender class from WOTR* š
Loved playing Kineticist in both games - And it is basically ELEMENTbending of your choice.
But are the brexits going to approve?
they will, since the streaming part was the main complaint abk can work around that
it is quite over sadly
Back to reloading the game for the next 10 mins on a level 18 lock
lol
Okay I am getting tired of having to constantly reload in combat cause of missed 70-80% rolls
lol can't you just accept that it missed and move on XD
No, fuck off
you might even find that more enjoyable just saying
Okay cleric is absolutely busted at level 7
Double conjuration on single turn, revive, spirit guardians and a fuck ton other spells
yeah usually DnD and derived games are not meant to be be flawless victories xD
plan around it but it's a chance for a reason
You get tired of reloading after a part wipe though š
Don't remember any of my chars actually dying
Oh - JOY - An explosive mushroom puzzle.
wonder why
it's like you're doing hurdling but instead of jumping you knock each hurdle down and claim victory at the finish line
And that's good enough
just do spellcaster only and use aoe spells
haha sure
I don't like RNG fucking me out of good dialogue choices
then you only need to worry about enemies that can reduce damage to 0 with a dodge
I get that, but the game is made around it
Nor do I like the game trying to kill off certain characters
And I have the most fun saving everyone via savescumming
vexx would be the person to powergame in RP
17 reloads later.... I hate puzzles with a deadly end.
that's what I love about it, it feels like anything can actually happen and has consequences, and it makes me feel good that I can accept anything that happens and play around that
tbh I did reload once since I was going to disarm a trap and instead misclicked
Ok, that's how I like playing my games, you got a problem with how other people live their lives?
Playing god in games is fun
yeah yeah, I'm just expressing what I enjoy kinda
happened to me multiple times already
that I misclick on a busy area
and accidentally attack the wrong entity
Ally navigation system is really off
They somehow manage to always stumble into mines cause they try to stick into a formation behind you
Okay I think my game just bugged out
That was not supposed to succeed
natural 20 always succeeds
Not really how that works from my experience
If it's 21 or higher you have to match or higher
I am using multiple roll buffs so it's not limited to scale of 20 points
nat 20 always suceeds
that is how it is supposed to work
yeah
Why would 20 always succeed if that's not even the target
Also I just rolled a 20 on a 21 and it failed
So the game doesn't even know itself
because that is how nat 20 works
bet that was not a nat 20 but buffed to a 20 with bonuses
Could be
yeah
Man I don't like dice games
1's always fail, 20s always succeed.
critical success or critical fail can lead to some weird/fun/whatever consequences on tabletop, I guess 5e just dictates nowadays that 1 = fail, 20 = success no matter what
Yeah it sadly doesn't have fun consequences of either.
would be cool but I can get why they don't
people would be even more pissed about failing a roll
it was always that
not a hard rule, gm trickery was encouraged
Ah fuck, not the sight I want to see when I turn the corner
Interesting that his HP bar and level are so damn high
Isn't he not the highest tier of ||devil|| anyways?
I wonder if I can actually engage him in combat
||you can fight him in his plane for a quest||
not playable
Gave him his own unique little passives
all playable peeps start level 1 so far
Not including ||Minthara or Halsin|| though
last time i saw a stat block for pre-god asmodeus he had like 50 hit dice
That's the weird thing about this genre, the "gods" are actual entities that interact with the world
that is just dnd
very
I know virtually nothing about the franchise just to clarify
she is literaly neutral evil
so Mystryl is god of magic, creater of the weave, which is were magic comes from
non clerical magic
Canāt wait to get that game
Shar is creator of the shadow weave
Vex did you have to do anything specific or?
which is where evil magic comes from
||The lady whom one of the characters in BG3 managed to sleep with?||
I will pretend to not know what you are hinting at
go play and just form an image what happens in your head
The wizard, Hale or whatever his name is
Gale
Canāt
Nice spoilers guy
this is pre this game
What's the difference
wait
You peeps and your weird tabletop lores
no gale banged Mystra namesake replacement before she replaced actual Mystra
she my issue is
i play adnd
so 90% of this shit in bg3 i dont know
bg1 and 2 sure
Is DnD one of those things like Games Workshop does where you have to buy a new set of playtoys every other year?
you can just literally take a pen, some paper, buy dice and print rulebooks and go play
adnd was released in late 70s
it gets mixed in with 2e which is basicly just post gary adnd
well in theory, in reality you need to find a group of people and someone who wants to DM, or even preferably someone who already knows how to be one. then you'll see each other like twice a year and the campaign never ends
find more dedicated friends
when I had roommates we talked about starting a campaign for a year but never did it
@hot spire is this ||Ketheric Thorm||, that this game keeps hinting being a villain, is he an important guy in DnD lore?
Not the best of people I imagine
you act 1 or 2?
I found a fun anagram in a certain character's name in act1
I'm sure it'll be a fun reveal later
shadow is act 2
Game doesn't specify where acts end or start
I just want to go to Baldur's Gate, big sprawling cities were always the most fun part in games
They keep teasing it with the game intro, but it seems that I have to complete the entire shadowlands thing before I get there
And judging by what the game keeps telling me, Baldur's Gate will be a bloodbath with the amount of brain-controller absolute
I am just trying to grasp the premise of the game, since I know nothing of the lore
So basically, there's this mind flayer empire that exists way before the game
It goes down to some kind of lizard warriors that they used to control
And now mind flayers modified their tools to control creatures and are trying to restore their empire?
just keep playing
As far as I'm also getting, ||gods got involved, Shar seems to be on the absolute's side, as well as others||
Idk, really weird lore, but rather enjoyable
||shar isnt really involved lol||
everyone dies
everyone lives
Prefered outcome
Other than goblins, I'll gobsmack every single one I come by
Some of the items in this game do not match their "rarity" level
I don't see how this is worth enough being a "very rare"
Just because something is "rare" doesn't make it any more useful compared to a more common item
quite common game mechanic
Yeah especially with equipment it's pretty bad
Some of the rare items have less useful effects than uncommons
1d10 extra damage is amazing
As a single use?
Not really
AoE items that are below that will do more damage
what?
