I haven't been on my account in probably half a year or more
Oh it's a wanting email you get 30 days to respond to
Tbh I'm not entirely against this as long as it takes a while to get this email
I want to be forgotten when I die x.x
it's still not a good thing to do
I mean yeah would be nice not having to do that but also, if you dont use your account for like 4 years or w/e it is to trigger it
feel the amount of hate for that is a bit disproportionate
how much server space does it take to store some credentials and a list of games
I think that's less the issue and probably just more issue for GDPR compliance and such and just less data management
mhm
... dear god if we really need explanations for endings like this I fear for the literacy of humanity
If you reply plz tag me so I get the notification. I haven't seen anything on the game but I remember the first one being fairly heavy too. You sure the game isn't just "future proof" meaning that it was designed for hardware not even out yet, that way it ages well and doesn't look super dated in a year or 2?
I was also worried DLSS would be used in a crutch but honestly I now believe I was wrong and that DLSS 2's upscaling (or one like it) and frame gen like DLSS 3 will be in everything eventually.
The next consoles that come out will likely have hardware accelerated upscaling. It's planned for RDNA4 but AMD might just do an rdna3+ refresh kinda thing and delay RDNA4 to make sure latency between chiplets is as low as possible.
Point being both technologies will be a part of everything once consoles support it. The upside is upscaling tech has gotten really good and even frame gen which AMD had like 14 years ago will be good enough in a year that we likely won't have to worry about ghosting or artifacts
well the devs who solely rely on fsr/dlss for good perf should just be voted on with anyome wallet
like with anything else

Hey
I recently deleted my wooting double movement on fortnite and my game just feels really bad after deleting it
I can’t really build and I still have double movement after deleting all the wooting files
Can anyone help?
double check if there is anything for double movement still installed, check your keybinds ingame, reinstall fortnite, if that doesnt fix it #1019722836778164244
@oblique jungleso what paragon level are you at
TF2s new 2023 summer update helps many re-live the Fort. Also you feel old now.
HUGE NOSTALGIA for anyone who has played TF2
🥲 Tony the Troll, just started playin this week
dead game saw its largest player spike ever quite recently from what I heard
only dead in the competitive sense
casual players are at an all time high
dead as in valve still wont care and community servers still dead from the quickplay update back in the day
the casual players in that game are legit bots and play worse than the original mvm bots

So how many of you guys are getting Baulder's Gate 3?
Been craving a nice RPG
Diablo didn't really satisfy that craving
Baldur thank you very much.
Boulders grotto 3
my bad
wait til the weebs ruin it with baldu-san or whatever
Of course I'll get it - once it's on sale. If only to see how badly they managed to fuck up D&D using the Divinity approach to games 😄
it'll happen be sure of that
I just want a nice western RPG to play
only eastern RPG I like is the DragonQuest series
Elden Ring?
not try-hard enough for souls type game
It's quite easy imo
piracy boys fuming
kek
movies and TV are easy, but I don''t want to deal with the janks of pirated games
I just downloaded RDR2
and its working lol
used fitgirl lol
rockstar skill issue
the only game i truly loved of theirs is GTA 4
i bought like 4 copies lol
oh god this must be why you cant afford a 84 month tesla loan
chad
how many hours do you have in bg1/2?
BG1? Way, way too many to count since it released. BG2... a lot less. Only ever completed the entire game once, including the expansion.
you need some help my man
for real
yes it is
90% sure killing kids will AO a game
if it even gets a rating
I think you should seriously consider talking to a therapist my guy
mhm
nah fam you arent good
That doesn’t make it any better
the children
... my guy, if thats an attempt at trolling it's bad if you are serious you should reconsider what you are talking about
alright lemme not get banned
I thought Spec Ops: The Line has you technically killing children in game
via indiscriminate use of white phosphorus
That was only M rated iirc
good enough for me
only game I recall having npc kids you can slaughter is the original fallout
and yes it literally has graphical gore for that shit
interplay didn't fuck around in the 90s
now i know what to pirate next
wait fallout got source code launched????????
holy crap I know what I’m doing this next weekend
someone pls do a HD remaster with touched up controls
90% sure thats reverse engieered
but keep the rest stock
it isnt a sourceport if its RE
tim cain did say that the code for fo1 is around and the bethesda has it
like recently
it was missing/lost for decade+
I'm guessing the conversation above was about killing kids in RDR2
Ngl, while I am morally obliged to say "no to killing kids", killable children is a must-have mod in Skyrim to even be a playable experience
Does RDR2 even have children?
I don't remember any
finally someone with my taste lol
jack is a kid too
It's a game, do whatever the hell you want
you know it lol
If a game helps you heal your psychopathic tendencies, go for it
Just don't hurt anybody irl that'd be shitty
my test is too tanked for that
The what
and im not emotionally weak so i dont feel the need to hurt someone anyways
testosterone
Sorry I don't speak slang
Ngl you sound like you signed up for Tate's academy or something
that is a vital hormone in a male body bro lol
I am aware of what that is, but I have not heard that ever being used outside of martial art or "Tate is the best" circles
get testtested
Maybe you do have some issues
At least don't share them here, in a company's discord
yeah true
thanks
bro thought shit was sweet
ill just wear his
oops, i shot his head off

thats pretty surprising
Because they redconned wario
I GOT PS5 + STREET FIGHTER 6 WORKING WITH MY WOOTING!!!
oh yeah its wootin time
So you are parsing the HID report descriptors?
Yeah, I don't allow friends request here so I don't get spammed. 😅
I am curious as to what the board does. Since you should be able to use it by disabling nKRO in Wootility directly.

pretty sure you cant use keyboards in games as they want controller input
edge guard prob emulates a controller somehow
There are ways but it's considered cheating
Ah there is that. I'm too used to PC - Didn't consider that a game might only allow controller input. 😄
Seems odd not to allow keyboard for a fighting game though. But that's just the old man ranting.
At least iirc. I don't really keep up with console stuff
It started as an adapter for the switch. Not sure how it's detected by the PS5. It can be as a keyboard or controller but I assume the later.
https://keyboard.gg/
I can imagine that being forced since there are a lot more programmable keyboards out there
so you could make a lot of auto combo macros
Same could be said for controllers though.
I mean tournament settings are a whole different thing
it's just that programmable keyboards are a lot more widespread than programmable controllers
and I don't just mean a button to make one move
cant wait to see this keyboard in smash or brawlhalla tournaments
i cant wait to watch it for free on myflixr
you get bs like this
with rules that are too lax
where you have rows of extra buttons
that you drag your hand across
to do a combo
that is NA
was evo
hitboxes themselves are fine
and macro buttons/multi mapped buttons were not allwoed
but you could have multiple buttons that do the same action
so you just had a row
dunno was not interested in ggs
ik there were a lot of people that used setups like that at evo
leverless in general pretty good for that game tho
I legit can't do half/quarter circles left lol
on hitbox
at least not with the ones I have tried

The Bramble is a cocktail created by Dick Bradsell in 1980s London, England. Best described as a spring cocktail, the Bramble brings together dry gin, lemon juice, sugar syrup, crème de mûre, and crushed ice. Bradsell also suggests finishing off the cocktail with some fresh red fruits (such as blackberries, cranberries) and a slice of lemon.

I want to know where you found out about this game
joel
His VoTV streams are defo classical example of how not to play a game
Mofo keeps skipping events
The dev is as pissed as anyone is
Whenever joel streams it's just all about how incompetent he is in the dev's DC server
lol
Dr Nose made the pyramid event literally unskippable just to get Joel not to quit out
Majority stake bought out by Tencent
Which is not a good thing
How has EU not stopped this?
There goes the black people and flat chested women.
#TencentMemes
oh ffs
fucking ccp getting their claws into everything
yeah the western stance on china is... something
china can spout anti west stuff all day then buy up everything
i dont quite get it
Cause it pays
They own everything in China
And they are going to get dividends from everything in West
because greed
China's playing the clever game
its all forgiven if you wave thicc stacks of cash in peoples faces
that's just the sad state of things
and yeah china will own everything western at this rate
U.S is embracing it
EU is trying to fight it, evidently not enough
It's a major security issue and should be addressed literally by tomorrow
yeah the warning signs has been there for years, people just choose to ignore them because we make money now by doing so
they won't wisen up to it until its far too late already
Btw 0.6.1 came out a few hours back, motherclucker Nose is a borderline workaholic
My absolute favourite thing that Joel does is him reading the patchnotes and trying to decipher the madman writings
Just for joel to dodge all new stuff
1 entity removed
4 entities added
That did happen, cause the update was literally hot off the oven and was a bit borked with navmeshing iirc
Happened multiple times lol
And then he gets scared cause of text
Ngl Joel is a born entertainer
\
Yeah he's going to love this changelog
Lol

That's an error I have never seen before
I have no clue how they are planning to keep releasing content like this weekly until launch
They are going rather in-depth with the videos, and the game can't have too much content cause obviously it's a Paradox title, and it'll get monetized to hell with DLCs
lmao shit code
What does that even mean
They have a function that's set to virtual so it does nothing?
Some kind of potential memory overflow so the program terminates?
No clue what the error message entails
Who likes or needs bikes?
bike paths in CS are pretty nice

any big apex players here that now to use a superglide profile?
im using this profile but cant get it to work for superglides
I forgot how marvelous MGSV looked
I think a remaster is at hands here
Tbf you could very easily, imo, create a remaster by just using an AI upscaler
Good old Fox Engine
What's that meme
The game's never over?
I am surprised that people think that there's still an unlockable hidden chapter in the game files somewhere
Jesus christ r/NeverBeGameOver is just a cesspool of what was r/blueboxconspiracy a few years back
But far worse
Cause blue box conspiracy was actually fun for a bit
Over the weekend, fans of Ubisoft games underwent a minor panic as a rumor spread that Ubisoft might be spontaneously deleting inactive Ubisoft accounts, permanently destroying digital game libraries if users didn't log on often enough. However, Ubisoft has now clarified that users' digital game libraries are safe.

Thanks, commander J. Pete, for the debriefing.
Building... construction complete
lol
Forspoken had Denuvo removed https://steamdb.info/depot/1680881/history/?changeid=M:3798211609564658789
did they also make the game good?
Did it impact performance, irc that game performed like ass
I mean that’s how drm should be used, keep it for some time then remove it so games can be archived and all so im glad that’s what they did
idk if future generations need to see forspoken
Could argue as example of how to not make things
But in general I just like to see this, drm at first to prevent first wave piracy then remove it and let people have at it after the big sales are over
Man I remember we talked about if those Baldurs Gate 3 CE's would sell for those absurd prices on ebay
Well they might, unless troll bids
Now if only this would be codified in law. So that if they don't, anyone is free to crack it down the road.
That would be nice too
What I'm hoping to do with my Starfield collector's
Tbf at this point I am more and more inching towards actually keeping it
Sorry people usually want to buy them when the game is good
Mhm
It's an actual watch that works, so yes, it's quite novel
Ok, zoomer, calm down
It's called collecting
We get it you live in the 80s angry gramps, no need to be grumpy
You mean a physical copy?
What are you yapping about, the game's a digital download
How are they meant to compress 125GB game size to 60GB bluray?
Apparently that bluray's are typically 50GB nowadays, I thought it was 60
inb5 50mb disc just for authentication.
I did grow up with physical games, and I can tell you that much, I don't really care for discs anymore
Besides with the game clearly being a live service kind of deal, anything on that disc will be defunct within a year or two.
My PC literally doesn't have a cd reader, nor am I going to buy one
Discs are actually worse storage medium imo than a digital copy
Get yours scratched up and it's fooked
Cool to look at and flaunt? Yes
Practical? Hell no
Relax vietnam gramps, not everything is military
Practicality wise physical copies don't make sense anymore for most gamers
The solution is simple and obvious.
Make each disc tie to a digital account, with a process to change it automatically later. Meaning that even if the disc breaks, the digital account it was last tied to can keep using it.
Upcharge physical customers 10$ for the disc on sale, for the convenience of saving some download time.
Lol that wasn't an attack nor do I care for your opinion about a video game
The fact that people are defending physical game storage medium doesn't make sense to me
It's inferior to online storage in nearly every way
Sounds similar to what the kid working for Graphene said when he had a victim syndrome cause Louis Rossmann made a negative video about his online interactions lol
The fact that Steam keeps my Skyrim Legendary edition copy even though Bethesda removed it many years back cause of Special Edition makes me sleep calm
I don't remember cases where Steam ever actually negatively impacted consumers and outright removed a game from anyone's account cause publisher asked to do so
Lol, this is ironic
EA does it "bad EA"
Nintendo asks you to pay up with the NSO subscription to play old titles "good Nintendo"

well, thing is that you get exclusive deals, a lot of free stuff, sometimes even event cards for free and more. It's not just the retro consoles program you get with a subscription
No I meant to lol
Haha
What do you mean with option
Why's it not uncapped
The console engine strikes again
I'll take 120FPS any day over 30.
If anything it means we might be able to more easily mod.
Still worse than mods
Radeon cards will have raytracing disabled on rift apart
Well, no, it's a DLC
but vex, aren't most mods technically DLC (downloadable content)
Oh god not another flop
f
I don't care how much logic you try to apply there, no
are you sure though
If it's made by unaffiliated players, it's a mod
fine..
If it's sponsored by the company and they literally call it a DLC, it's a DLC
What if I told you some modding communities are sponsored
In Arma?
ooh what about that vex
Arma has creator spotlights, if they sponsor anyone, it's CDLC fellows
back 4 blood was trash, sadly
project zomboid & l4d2 on top
they were banking so hard on "being the creators of left 4 dead" conveniently forgetting the polish and quality control valve did to make left 4 dead so legendary
What are you on about
I find Zomboid rather boring ngl
It's very aimless, in a sense, a true sandbox
Yet not a sandbox that's very fun
You are kinda left to your own devices and it's just not that interesting
CDLCs are by far of much higher quality than most mods
Prairie Fire is one of the best ones in general in terms of quality
The czechoslovakian one was pretty damn awful, yet of still high fidelity
There's a good reason why I said that
Mods have quantity
Look into Prairie Fire vs what lead to it, Unsung
Unsung has so much more content
And Prairie Fire is a pretty damn big CDLC
Quantity in Arma, at least to me, matters usually more than quality
Especially when it comes to Vietnam war, PF lacks a lot of equipment that Unsung Redux and the OG Unsung has
But PF is by far some of the most polished content around
Vertexmacht's Global Mobilization is also, really really high quality mod, but again, not too much in terms of quantity
There's a good, fair line between DLCs, CDLCs and mods
Mods are usually less detailed, less effort put into extremely good models and game mechanics, but they have a lot of content
CDLCs vary in terms of quantity, but usually less than the "good" mods, but quality is much higher
Even RHS, which is by far the biggest mod and a must-have, is rather lacking in quality
DLCs is Bohemia stuff which they don't make anymore, but the quality is what you expect, game studio level
No
I don't live in germany that's for sure
Although that looks like my steam if I did live in germany, very similar interests
What
What are you trying to say
The germans here that I am aware of is Tony, Quin and I think quinn or something like that
Why would I give you that
You'd find a similar story with me, most of my games are off-steam
Also you aren't guessing it either since my username isn't even in english
It is though
yeah its not for everyone
i have a couple of friends who detest it and call it menu simulator
PZ is great, just not the type of game I would willingly drop hours and hours on
definitely my favourite zombie game
besides, is ESL really still a thing for CS? Like lel, a few years ago no one gave a damn about ESL and shits. You were simply registered on Faceit and were good to go
ikr
I like skill based games and games that you can play in different ways with different outcomes, PZ is kinda a mix of both
ESL is still very much a thing
That's what i do when i'm bored. I'm trolling Yigas and fighting Lynels and shits naked
ah there you just cheeze with a 100+dmg weapon
just dope a few to be safe
in case you frigg up mounting the lynel
I have like 15 silver lynel horns + Scimitar of the Seven
Ancient Blades don't give you drops tho
Each Monster you shoot with an Ancient Arrow in TotK returns to BotW
Besides, where's the fun of fighting bosses when you wipe them out of existence?
pretty sure royal guard claymore and molduga jaw is one of the best combos
has like 500dmg or so on the last hit
any weapon has a 2.0 multiplier at its critical state
ya but royal claymore has 2 2x mults
due to the double break point state
one at 3 hits left and 1 at 1 hit left
Have fun, it takes 421 seeds to get all 20 weapon slots, 14 bow slots and 20 shield slots
but then again TotK has 1k seeds in total, 100 more than BotW and BotW required 441 seeds
easy fix. dump the save. open the editor. fix yourself up
Cheater

You can buy them at Cece anyways when you broke them
oh, no, actually at the bargainer statues
Cece sells the Hylian Shield actually
It is the truth cause I have not seen anyone defend that mechanic
It's made to piss people off
fuck no i always cheat durability high with save editors
cant be arsed to constantly dupe weapons, bows and shields
The way they did durability is horrible
The game wants you to learn and try different weapons, that's why the durability exists in the first place and it was a pain in the ass first in BotW, but i grew to love it
I understand the Fallout 3 and NV kind of durability, where the weapon gets progressively worse
zelda botw/totk durability is like leveling pokemon when you can just cheat rare candy and cut out the unfun grind
But where you are forced to lose it eventually and have to get it again? Hell no
If you use something constantly, it should cost resources to maintain
Not to punish you with deleting the damn item after 50 swings
It's simple law of QoL
Weapons get dull and break after using them over and over again irl too, so the mechanic is fine. Besides, there are Rock Octoroks
same
The approach with the durability in TotK seems absolutely fine to me
Good riddance, I say
It was a really uninspired blend of Zelda
Not a great game, rather boring
i mean Rock Octoroks, decayed weapons at the surface, it finally has a good consistency and balance compared to BotW
What an SEO nightmare of a name to pronounce.
They have great franchises
Immortals (plural), Fenyx (ugh) RISING, SEQUEL
The game was as bad as it sounds
Pretty sure they had a different name in mind first, but got threatened to be sued
Eh?
I have not once ever mentioned that game
Cause I've never played it
The sequel seems interesting enough, yet seems to be frozen cause nothing is happening with it
I like my Siege, I somewhat enjoyed Wildlands
Tbf the Wildlands sequel was ass
I actually liked The Crew when it came out. It was basically NSF:W all over again, but with a story, better gameplay and more. Crew 2 sucks ass tho. 60 FPS locked, bunch of useless, unwanted mechanics, etc.
They still own and are doing nothing with Splinter Cell
Because they have no idea what to do with Fisher
Rainbow Six continues to be milked for multiplayer
He's basically in his retirement
And the good old original singleplayer games are gone
And I do still like Assassin's Creed a bit
When that comes out, ping me
The same way you can also ping me when beyond good and evil 2 comes out
I'll expect it for... never
AC
The last one i played was Origins and i didn't enjoy it at all. The story was the only reason i kept playing
Black Flag was great
Rogue was good
Unity was good
The reboot thingies are interesting
I think Origins and the one after were not bad
You mean Unity was fine after the DLC Patch
Invalid, void opinion, but that's fine
The latest AC with the vikings n shit was honestly, very mediocre
And I did finish that game somehow
Syndicate?
I forgot that one existed
yep, thx
That was set in London right?
Yep
Industrialization period
Really good setting
But I don't remember anything about it
everyone played 2 and Brotherhood
I'll be fair to you, I have no clue what those are actually
The very first AC I played was on the PSP
Ezio stuff
And I don't at all remember what that was about
who plays air conditioning smh
I then tried running AC3 on my PC and it couldn't run at all
I remembered this game while you guys where talking Splinter Cell , there where soo many good games to the PS1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75HHX-SXs5k
Syphon Filter 2 gameplay on PlayStation. Original PlayStation game played on the PlayStation 5 via PlayStation Plus Pemium.
Welcome to GamePlayStation, where Gameplay + PlayStation = GamePlayStation! Here at this channel we offer viewers gameplay of various types of PlayStation games! All games are played on the original console and are capture...
Well, i tried to boot up Origins after swapping my 2080 Ti for a 6800XT for a little benchmark and it refused to launch
I think what AC always does well is the setting
If Skull and Bones ever releases it should be like Black Flag
The world building, story, setting are always really good
The gameplay though.. yeah that's where Ubisoft really sucks
Black Flag though, not really, that one was amazing
I think Rogue for a BF successor is also very underrated
It depends, they improved over time. However, i think Syndicate didn't stick in our memories due to the lack luster story
3 was enjoyable enough for me, hated the ending ||because I'm one of the weirdos who was actually looking forward to the Desmond game||
Desmond should've become the greatest Assassin of all time
now he ded

i actually wonder more what Nintendo has up their sleeves
As if
Another Zelda
he did become the greatest by assassinating himself
uh... i highly doubt that Nintendo will jump on the "all digital" shit wagon
I doubt they will go digital only, they actually like physical cartridges
Sell them cheaper than on the eShop
Physical cartridges cost monies, and can be resold, that means less profits!
And i still doubt it, because their entire selling point was the mobility of the Switch
Don't you guys have phones?
and you really think that's true?
A fucking SD card costs less to make
Do you really think someone like Nintendo wouldn't have figured out a way to cheap it down to like 3 bucks a piece?
Still dont explain why the physical copy of games is cheaper than on the eShop
Physical games are 45-49 euro while 60 on the eShop
🤔
oh
strange
simple, stores lower prices after a while to rid inventory, digital games don't have storag space they take up
Ok, did some research and actually a single 32 GB Switch Cartridge cost 60% more than a 50 GB BD around 3½ years ago. 3 and a half years! If calculated correctly that was $22 dollars a cartridge, from assembling all the way to giving each one a unique ID, flashing the data onto it, etc.
22 bucks just 3½ years ago. Pretty sure they cut it down to less than 10 by now
actually they get their Chips from Hynix, Samsung, SanDisk and some more
They don't have just 1 distributor
they literally use a modified SD card memory

It's nothing special
You think so? Go and buy any cheap ass cartridge and crack it open
On God
I still don’t know why they killed him pff
For some reason I’ve always been a fan of games set in the modern day
WW3 stuff, alternate reality shit
I was so pissed when they released like 10 games in a row about wars in the past for COD, Battlefield and the likes
Not doing great eh?
9% of team laid off
that why we wont get that cyberpunk thing?
What cyberpunk thing?
The DLC for 2077 is launching soon
I think they canned the multiplayed thing they were working on
And are working on a sequel for 2077
But I have serious doubts for their success
Their roadmap that they presented is beyond their capabilities imo, to launch a game that is actually fun to play
They'll end up an Ubisoft type company at this point
my next target
They want to make 3 Witcher games in like the span of 6 years or something like that
"All three games aimed to be delivered within a 6-year period
following the Polaris release"
I'm sorry, but you don't make a good game within 3 years
Counterpoint: 2077.
depends on if they work on all 3 in parallel but allocate less resources to 2

Pre-prod, so idk, 2026-27?
If they are actually believing in 3 year production cycle
So they want to be developing a new IP, a full fledged sequel to 2077, and a new trilogy
i dont particularly see any reason not to basically finish a lot of stuff for the other 2 while making the first
When they failed to deliver on 2077 which they worked on for what, 7 years?
i think 2077 specifically was more a failure of investors pushing for a release
not specifically them just pooping it out as fast as they can
Well...no. As we all know that was never the case.
i also dont know exactly if there was any feature creep on 2077
because from the videos ive seen it looked like massive feature creep but i havent seen official statements of such
Massive featurecreep if you will. It was originally intended as a linear game.
In the end, they only had 2-3 years of total dev time to work on the actual product we ended up with.
so they basically remade the game all over to not be linear and then had investors sitting and pressuring them
I would not put everything on investors, scope creep is a natural process here.
Basically. And the first two or three years after the reveal back in 2013? was just prototyping with a handful of people, waiting for Witcher 3 to be sunset, so the entire studio could pick it up and go into actual production.
As for the layoffs 9% is not that dramatic and fits within general restructuring.
like i said it looks like it but i personally didnt see any official confirmation. but if they had 7 years and didnt change from linear to well basically play however you want i bet in 7 years wed have gotten a banger of a game with 2077
Actually now that I think about it, the 2013 or so trailer was way before Witcher 3
And witcher 3 is a 2015 title right?
So 2077 launched only 5 years after 3 launched, and 3 had numerous DLCs
Damn I totally forgot that 2077 was announced before 3 launched
didnt witcher 3 have like 3 or 4 years of dev time
The game's development began following the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine (2016). so 4 years total dev time, massive feature creep and scope creep with changing from linear to player driven story and investors sitting idle
No wonder the devs actually hated the whole project
I still remember the massive leak of source files and dev comments flaming the project and leadership
still feel like it would have been a banger if it was either always linear story or they made it player driven from the start
Tbf now that they effectively doubled their dev time on the 2077 project
And basically made their longest in-development game to date
I wonder if phantom liberty will be actually amazing
all the bugs aside i liked cyberpunk
I still should play it some time, just like I should finish the witcher 3 sometime but here I am stuck watching youtube and playing garbage in the background.
Tbf I had a really good time with it
Didn't encounter anything game breaking
i was lucky enough to not be part of the hype
And tbf I also kinda like bugs
i encountered enough game breaking things lol
They are funny
Kind of grown over getting hyped for games
That's what happens when you play Bethesda games for a living
Bugs become a feature that amuse me
no if id play bethesda games for a living id hate living
i just cant stand their newer games.... oblivion/shivering isles and fo3 is where its at
Well let's bring the discussion back to CD Project
oh?
i have no doubt theyll fuck up their new game either at bethesda studios
starlawn or whatever
Oi wey don't shittalk my next space RPG
(tbf I don't have much hope for its success)
the game will kinda suck probably and the collectors edition will be another slam dunk on customers
I think what makes Fallout 4 actually fun even though it was flamed is how compact it is
There's encounters behind every corner
if i want space rpg i play elite dangerous
It's a game, about visiting generated planets. That sounds empty afffffff
Especially since there will be no vehicles cause Creation Engine can't handle those
Well, Skyrim did have horses, rideable dragons, Fallout 4 had vertibirds you can mount
wait they didnt even make a new engine?
Maybe they somehow made Creation actually handle vehicles
they try to cram it into creation?
Well, I suppose?
It's Creation Engine 2
People modded cars and such into Fallout. So I doubt Bethesda couldn't do it officially in their bi-yearly update of the engine.

From what their marketing team claim, they had a bandaid team of like 5 engine engineers for Skyrim and Fallout
So Creation Engine was rather rushed and really shit
They have apparently a proper team of 30 or so engine engineers working on Creation 2
So.. I have some hope it will not be an unstable mess
inb4 fps bound physics again
My main concern with the game remains the just innate nature of what they are trying to do
Procedurally generated worlds with sprinkled in dungeons and encounters
Like, that sounds really bland
sounds exactly as bland as elite dangerous lol
Is that game bad?
but that game at least has player interactions
well its basically just an entire galaxy procedurally generated with scientific data so planet movements are sort of accurate
outside of that its just artifical factions and realtime market that every player has to interact with at some point
the only thing that make ED good imo is that every player influences the same galactic states of everything. power balance, market prices, how the story unfolds (to some extent) and events in game
At least Starfield isn't doing the NMS thing where "it's so big, you can't possibly meet another player"
ED's main issue is... lack of ownership and making a mark. You will never move beyond being a space pilot of a single ship somewhere.
It really lacks X's "build a station" style gameplay.
well yes people moved beyong being a single ship space pilot
with their new fleet carriers
Any of you space fans play that abandonware game
no youre not piloting it
Space Citizen is it called?
youre instructing it to jump into certain spaces but dont directly steer or navigate it
its a glorified space station of your own
you control what services are offered
what items are stocked in the market
what prices they sell and buy for
Ehh... I feel like that's a bad technicality. You're still not making a dent in the universe economy in a meaningful way.
oh boy yes you are
you havent seen those crazy people i guess
every few months they short some weird item and then when the station wants to buy it for tons they dump a ton of the resource
Agree to disagree. It's still not a proper economy interaction like X or EvE.
its not real realtime economy
as it only ticks every so often
but you can definitely influence it to any degree you want if you have the cash and means
Resources are generated out of thin air. It is not a proper economy.
You can absolutely, completely wreak the entire economy if you put your mind to it in X.
For the entire universe.
x isnt an mmo
unless i missed some x game that is an mmo
the comparison to eve id say is fair but eve is another beast imo
Neither is ED.
ed is an mmo
It really isn't.
so me shooting down players isnt mmo
its just a coop with like a few other ships of people i dont know
It's Dark Souls/GTA style. Your session can be shared with a small portion of random players.
well im honestly not sure id even compare anything to GTA
gta5 is a dictatorship if anything
I'm specifically talking about the nature of the multiplayer connectivity here.
Yes it does.
no you connect to the host player
every lobby has a host player and they have almost full control over the lobby
That... that is a session, Tony. Doesn't matter if it's hosted by a player or on a central server.
kicking who they like etc
An MMO requires you to be connected to an entire shard all at once, which ED does not do. You only connect to a handful of players.
id say its an mmo because well you are connected to all players
you just cant interact with all at once
you do
No.
even if you select solo
you are connected to the ed servers
and pull data and can whisper people etc
Adding IRC to your singleplayer experience does not an MMO make.
its not SP
youre still bound to galactic market and power balance
thats like saying GTA5 online in a force solo session is single player
Yes.
You're playing a singleplayer, live service game. Still not an MMO. No more than claiming ANNO is an MMO, just because there's a global market that slightly adjusts prices.
i wouldnt say ED is a single player game but sure
and id say most people would disagree with such claim as well
Let me know when you can completely monopolize a resource in ED, and collapse the global market. Then it's a proper economy. As long as resources are produced and consumed purely on paper, with no real interaction, then it isn't an economy.
so the prices changing galactically and you having to source from else where almost daily because prices keep going up or certain resources become not viable over time is not economy
also i think ED wouldnt exist if resources could run out
because an MMO with finite resources sucks
In X you can completely destroy the economy of every single faction, by limiting or outright refusing resources to them. There is not magical a conjuration of resources to keep things going.
Cause and effect. ED's systems couldn't care less if you camp a station for weeks at a time, preventing every single trader or cargo ship from docking.
X is an SP game where no one else wants to enjoy the game but you
ofc you can easily limit resources
in a multiplayer game doing this will just in the long run kill the game
ED does not have a proper economy. That was my complaint, and you have confirmed it.
coughs in EvE
where the change was just recently introduced as far as i know
What? EvE has had this since its inception.
afaik they made resources even more scarce for no reason a few years ago
i personally never got into EvE over the many times i tried though
Anyway - My point stands. ED is a pointless experience, because nothing you do will have any lasting effect on the universe. You cannot set up any kind of persistent real estate, corporation or manufacturing. You are a glorified spaceship courier, who can shoot shit up that's procedurally generated out of thin air.
Which is a real shame, considering it's near infinite universe of just empty solar systems for hours of travel.
ok but no one said you can setup persistent real estate or manufacturing or such
I did - I said that.
no i mean no said claimed you can in ED
well i countered that by saying you can have something akin to a space station
which you just disregarded despite it having all the features of a space station
If you're fine with playing a game that has an empty universe with no impact from anything you will ever be able to do, then enjoy I guess?
Yes - In a fake economy.
as mentioned i dont think it would be fun for most people
i assume youre playing eve?
Used to. I still play a lot of X.
so why not eve anymore
Because I have a job 😄
well there you go
There is a middle ground to be had. I played EvE in nullsec, player owned space.
EvE has plenty of PvE content, within said economy
My particular flavour of playing EvE just happened to be akin to end-game raiding in your run of the mill MMO. Needs a lot of hours consistently.
If I left for a week, I could come back to a massive shift in the geopolitical situation in my area, meaning I could be logging into a space corpse.
I could absolutely play as a miner/manufacturer/bounty hunter in PvE space if I wanted to. But for that I feel like X does it better, because my actions have a much bigger impact on the universe. EvE was for the multiplayer experience.
so it doesnt matter if i play eve or ed
i dont leave a mark in either
cause i wont be living in the game. id play it for an hour at best every day or 2
X enters the arena
dont like x
i specifically like the fact i can wake up to drastically different market prices
but its basically the same reasons i dont like games like anno, civ, banished and basically anything else the likes
Oi wey why dislike Anno and civ?
i can save at any point and correct mistakes i made economy or politics wise
also i wake up and its as i left it however long ago
id love for a game where the market and politics keep running and evolving while i dont play my save
Yeah but neither civ or anno are really like that, they are singleplayer after all
correct
I do really enjoy civ though
Anno... I love and hate Anno. The overcomplex economy mechanics is what I really really don't like
but i still wake up to random new events that unfolded while i didnt play
But it's a good micromanagement game
Tbf you can have that in any singleplayer game, random events while playing
Civ is basically a "random event" game, you have no clue what others civs are doing
well the point is random stuff while not playing
That's quite niche, I get your perspective but I think most people would find that really unfair
well yeah i find eve online for example unfair
first i get shafted by needing to invest years to build up anything
and then it can get taken away in the blink of an eye requiring another year to rebuild smth
(not literally a year but you get what i mean)
while in ED its sort of softened... i can wake up to random game states of anything heck my station i parked in could be under attack or on fire
but i wont have to regrind or invest thousands of dollars to skip the grind
and its not like i dont get EvE or X/Anno/Civ players
but i like the inbetween
Oh I dislike both 😄
Really not a fan of Civ 6's city defense mechanic, or the weird meta system of placing down the districts. Feels very anti-Civ.
ANNO isn't a city builder, as much as they'd like to claim otherwise. It's a 1:1 ratio puzzle.
Oh yeah I thought that civ 6 is a major downgrade over Civ 5
It's far too different for my liking
ANNO 1800 also majorly self sabotaged by releasing a DLC that goes completely against the core of the game.
That "#¤¤%& capital city.
i feel like im glad i skipped anno ever since getting the anno 2077 or whatever it was
i did build the included solar powered thing but never played it
ANNO has always been about expanding from a starter island to other island. But with the DLC everyone is basically forced to always use that pre-generated island, because all future DLC like the palace and such are designed with it in mind.
And modders can't generate larger islands, because islands are premade with proprietary and complex mapping tools.
anno 1602 or bust
Well, 1404 was the best anno game until 1800
I think it's pretty widely considered nowadays that 1800 has surpassed 1404
It's a really good game
played limited 1404
1404 and 2070 are my personal favourites. 1404 for being the last ANNO with actual combat that isn't just "more ships" but actual invading islands with proper foot soldiders.
2070 had the interesting mechanics of two factions and underwater cities, all on a single map.
i still have the 2070 collectors edition i think
So Ubi still has one good franchise, untainted, remaining
oh boi settlers
Uhh, hard disagree
Anno 1800 for me feels like a straight up 1404, but better and enhanced
Cause I struggled hard to comprehend 1404
ANNO 1800 is the best ANNO ever... if not for the massive self-sabotaging 😄
1800 for me was just as complex, but more lenient
Didn't Settlers just have a new game launch?
IT teacher really liked it apparently
Settlers always seemed like a franchise that never got its full potential revealed
All games just kinda sucked in some way
Settlers is... just... not very consistent.
Every game seems to reinvent what it means.
cities skylines on 3ds when
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRbSguU7OjM
Personally I prefer 2 and 4. 2 is the original that I played growing up, and arguably the best Settlers at its core.
4 turned it into a fun Smurfs like experience. You had Romans, Vikings and... Aztecs? And this weird tainted soil mechanic. It was fun and silly.
Settlers IV cinematics.

that video reminds me of wiggles
diggles in english apparently https://www.gog.com/de/game/diggles_the_myth_of_fenris
Oh that's where that image is from. TIL.
Even the new one sucks
They did an open beta of the newest one a while back. And it was panned so hard by everyone. It was a sight to behold (and play)
How hard can it be to make an RTS/city builder
There are so many good games that do that
Stronghold is the main example
stronghold best game
I didn't like 1 or Crusader
I played the hell out of Stronghold 2
3 was.. a bit of a mess but there's some fun if you can ignore the myriad of bugs
And the new one, Chieftains? That one's a bit eh as well
They need to reinvent the genre, cause they are doing the same thing they did 20+ years ago
It's just a tad bit boring
i didnt like 3 at all
They really need to expand on what they want to do with the genre
It's a bit too small scale for me, in a way
A lot more economy, a lot more size, a lot more variety
Can't be hard to do, Total War exists
That.. exists
And has existed for a long time
Really?

Ymir is probably the cloest you'll get to an MMO'esque city builder.
Ymir is a 4X multiplayer strategy game combined with a city builder where each player develops a civilization of Pigmen starting at the stone age. The game is divided in 2 main interfaces : a worldmap view and a regional view. Each world tile matches a unique procedurally generated isometric zone that can be explored, settled and built on by pla...

This is your MMORTS
Not medieval.. but it's quite literally an MMO RTS
It kind of merges a Stronghold esque city builder with a world map and other players/NPCs.
It is very much a one man labour of love kind of deal though, so expect all the caveats you've come to love from DF and such.
I feel shame I forgot the amazingness that is Foxhole man

damn
You kind of picked a location on a google maps kind of globe with resources and such.
Remember trading with neighbor cities in Simcity 4? That was kind of critical.
Importing water, power or tourists depending on what you had in yours.
cities skylines mmo with limited resources like da real world
might be a game where i like getting shafted
I would - love - to see Skylines to what this video above shows.
Just picking a spot on a globe, with a generated heightmap. And then trading with others globally, sharing workforce, products and such. Wouldn't even have to be detailed. Just a fun way to play with friends.
Just play Foxhole if you've never heard of it
It's really fun
Yeah I can't think of anything that's like that and MMO
I mean.. mobile games?
Those are like that
well

There are dragons in Minecraft?

theres harder bosses and more to do and explore
The end is never the end is never the end is never the end

I have only ever played Minecraft in a multiplayer server with friends as a base building game
Apparently there's an adventure component. Meh - gimme the blocks
theres whatever component you want mark
you should see the wild mods
boats, cars, trains, computers, mechanisms
you wanna have a big fort door that swings open? sure
the only really limiting factor is its blockiness
Me 🙂
All you need in Minecraft is pvp, like 10 redstone pieces a water bucket some dirt and wood and you just go tnt cannon everything
I don’t remember how much you needed to make the delays
