As for persistency, well it's no big deal, just have some usb-drive with you and make it boot into rcm mode by default.

Server Smash was an awesome event that could really use some more advertising from the studio.

The Steam deck is 43% AdobeRGB. The new screen is 74%. This translates to the Deck having between 63-70% SRGB. While the new screen is 93-99%. Which is actually an incredibly significant difference.

yes it has clear benefits but the resolution is kind of akward, a lot of games would probably be forced down to 600p at that point
Unless you can rely on upscaling which can be a bit of an ask, also steamdeck ui kind of assumes 800p for rendering by default, so you would have to work around that.
Power consumption of the display will probably be higher as well and I don't know how well it behaves at 40hz for example

As for VRR while definitely useful I will add that it is less important on the deck, as you can to save battery lock the frame rate anyway. a game that runs at an unstable 40 can save a decent bit of power running at a locked 30.
