It depends on what you set the input. Its not automatically set as either one as a default.
If Button A is set as a keyboard key its registered by games as a keyboard. And if its set to a 360 X button then its registered as a controller.

That's a software problem that can easily be fixed, every pc you can then your monitor off while the computer runs so it should be no different.

One of the Sims 2 DLCs added the ability to split up a lot into multiple apartments, which felt a lot more urban. More like a dorm or a condo. And with a bit of console trickery you could make you own, which was very cool.
You could also make UK style rowhouses with a bit of hacking, which I genuinely miss - Fucking suburb style housing limit with forced lawn and hedges on the lot edges instead of wall to wall.
Sims 3's "living" town was ahead of its time (and suffered as a result in terms of performance and compromises), and such a game changer. No loading screens anywhere unless you visited a completely different city or went on vacation.
You could send one Sim to a lot downtown and still control the rest of the family without any weird time dilation weirdness, and your neighbors would run realtime and progress through generations alongside you.

And had the best in terms of customizing and having what you want for everything.
But the biggest drawback was the engine's instability. It didn't amtter if you had a monster game rig : the engine stuttered and would die after putting in all the DLC and/or enough mods.
4, at the very least, didn't have that issue. So it has points in that regard.

My wife would disagree there - We have a bunch of optimization mods that run beautifully. I think she has a save that's like a year old at this point.
The mods help cleanup bugged characters and fix all manner of garbage that builds up over time.

There's nothing that can compete with the amount of money google has that it can literally throw away all of it without a care at youtube to be able to keep providing decacde/s worth of videos.
Twitch got to where it is because Youtube didn't have the live streaming, so it became born from Justin.TV and it survived and surpassed its elder services because ti was gaming exclusive focused. What you see from non-ganging based stuff is remnants from it's older times and likely maybe attempts at revival of Justin.TV but under the Twitch brand.
In order to compete : you have to have a significant money backing, on top of solid physical server foundation, and THEN you have to have extra financias to pay for content creators to make and attract attention and then you ahve to RETAIN that attention good enough to attract sponsors and ads to make it generate money revenue to keep it alive to keep it going. Need less to say : this is extremely difficult.

I use my steam deck every day and 9 hours of it docked and hooked to a screen and mouse + keyboard.
Depends on the game but as mentioned : if the game features an Anti-Cheat that requires root kitting a windows : it require finangling or might not work at all. otherwise most games will work. Any issues would require configuring but most of the time its controller based configuring if any issue. And configuring the controls is super easy.
I would say its not worth comparing the two, the Deck can do so much more than the Switch. Compare it to a laptop instead and you see what I mean. You don't compare a switch to a laptop.
