Shouldn't be necessary. Unplug all of the cables, unscrew the motherboard everywhere, and you should be able to angle wiggle it out.

Your old motherboard is mATX. Which is slightly smaller than the larger ATX formfactor that is also most commonly used. So depending on what you bought now, you may need to move a few.

You won't need them if your new motherboard is longer. It's just... nicer.

Just means you may have to put a finger under the edge of the motherboard when plugging in cables along the bottom edge, because it will flex a bit otherwise.
