Thanks that works out
Even then HD600 can be driven out of slightly more beefier dongle dacs like the Crinear Protocol Max.
Does any one have a Beyerdynamic headphone? I have a question
no mine is in the trash
I owned one
Two actually
Okey see dm
very secret question lol
W keycap order not qwerty
Thanks to MSI for sponsoring this video! Check out their Raider 16 Max HX Gaming laptop below!

The latest and greatest from Zaylli is the super comfy and small Lyro headphones. Not only are these super well tuned but they come with a knob for tuning them to the prefere...
yo
WE need this
Obligatory FPS
120hz is all you need
too much ragebaiting here
I can live in the terminal with 10hz
90hz is fine for me.
Mchose finally off the realtek train
sees 4 images that discord doesn't load
gets Mr. Beast scam ptsd

I am team 120
I am team "i want more then we got rn"
pfft, 120hz is more than enough, actually limited my screen to just that instead of running it at the 165hz it would support, since there's simply no point 😅
for comp fps is very visible
lmao nope
mb eye can only see 120fps
23
- 1 frame to make it cinematic
Jumping spiders can perceive depth using only one of their eight eyes, because they have four layers of retinas that are positioned precisely where the chromatic aberration splits colors from light through refraction
So you're saying we need cybernetics implant
You trolling right
120 is enough, sure thats an opinion, not seeing the difference above 120 is bad eyesight
send this information to dashi with a spider gif
I like nice numbers 😅so I set my refresh rate to 100 cause its nice number😅😅😅
I'm just wishing 1khz is enough to emulate crt cause I want dat 2000's rhythm game arcade feel without a big thick monitor
dont be rash dashi
even at a gajillion hz crt still fundamentally renders images differently
so 1khz would be super clear but still not like crt I think
Certainly a choice
I see, but at least we're getting closer.
Is the astro gen 5 for 210 euro worth it
seems like someone is hallucinating and might wanna stop taking weird stuffs
I think you’re alone on that hill ngl, maybe with steam forum users saying humans can max see 60 hz
I feel attacked
In related news, I've got new glasses coming in next week!
Buy glasses in asia
what is the refresh rate on those
At least 3
I would set it to 6 or 7
effectively speaking you can only "see" about 30-60fps, getting a feel of improvement above that point sure is normal as well, especially on larger screens and higher res, but overall once you hit 120 and still demanding more is just ridiculous cope
If only crts weren't 60Hz
Didnt know i was on the steam forums here

Guys is my pc good enough for wootgame? I have i3 3300 mhz and gtx 1040 ti
nothing to do with steam forums or anything and like i said, it's not like you wouldn't get a feel of improvement past 60, heck, might even feel a lil more past 120, but it's simply so marginal that demanding that is outright hilarious
Why not a GT910?
I think I saw in some video a guy talking how crts can shine with modern pcs with higher fps, so I think some are above 60hz? or they might even work differently in general
Orrrr, GT1010
We even got steam forums comedy hour damn we lucky this morning
iirc the guy was playing in at least 100 fps
Uhm cuz thats slower my numbers are higher
Is wooting woke?
Fair, but the big issue with crt is color accuracy, energy efficiency, and lack of brightness.
sounds almost like OLEDs
though they are improving every 1-2 years in those aspects
Or just any display technology
I remembered when IPS displays had the smeary look to them
damn even debilka got bigger balls than you do
probably, I'm just going off of OLED reviews cause I'm getting one soon and I always saw OLEDs being way less bright in terms of numbers
though perceptively they are probably still very good due to that contrast
The newer tandem OLEDs can get really bright
specifically Tandem WOLED and Tandem AMOLED
yea the 27 inch 1440p ones that are already out are crazy good in a lot of aspects
too bad I'd have to wait for a long time for 32 inch 4k ones, so I will settle for a 3rd gen WOLED
wtf are you talking about?
it will be weird switching from 34" to 27"
i'd want 32" but its 4k only and i dont want 4k, too much performance sacrifice
I have a 3rd gen WOLED in 4K 32 in
we all have that same question with your monitor take
Iirc it's an Asus monitor but uses an LG panel
totally fair
I want a bigger size on a monitor arm so I can adjust it based on the game I'm playing, so I could have a more immersive experience
I slightly upgraded the gpu but the fps hit is gonna be big
i will have a 9070xt which can handle 4k but eh
Well 4K*
is it a glossy one or matte
*with FSR 4.1
Matte, glossy doesn't work in my specific situation
lg usually makes matte panels i think
They recently made glossy 3rd gen WOLED panels
there is a rare one from LG with 3rd gen WOLED panel that uses glossy, but is a bit cheaper due to 165hz refresh rate
Asus use this coating too on their glossy variants
LG 32GX850A
Yeah, ultragear is good
real, I could go for 240hz Asus to try and squeeze some of frame gen frames on that panel but tbh I hate the chin that they got
Ultrafine is also really good if you don't need any of the gaming features
LG is so nice looking compared to that
kinda yeah, the Gigabyte Tandem OLED looks similar too
Didn’t the CRT monitor tell you all you need is 30hz unc
Gigabyte MO27Q28G
movies are 24 fps anyway so I lock to 24hz
Do you also watch movies at 10% brightness like cocytus
my E-Ink monitor aint got a brightness slider...
theres too much monitors to choose from
Funny because most theater projectors once the image is thrown onto the screen is right around 75 nits
that is insane considering human eye cant see past 30 nits
Ah yes
If the human eye can't see past 30 nits then the indirect light from the sun would flashbang us all the time
ultimate HDR experience
The ultimate HDR experience is to touch grass yes
What if you have blue eyes tho

thanks to people working in the display industry the grass is more real on the screen with every new generation
It's not. Keep in mind that the 1 000 Hz thing is an arbitrary number
Yes imo
I was running mine at 160 Hz
i can
120 Hz is blurry on most speeds above slow
two two cro
whats next youre gonna tell me you're a super saiyan?
Breaking news: another wobbly Hifiman that performs almost identically to all their other ones was just announced
If you flip the color I still wouldn't be able to see the improvement
It's a little bit smoother in the treble I guess. Less bass though
I love my A50 but I keep hitting volume limits (it makes a noise when the volume is all the way to the top) with the EQ setting I have which is making me considering getting the DX1 II and a wired headphone for use when I'm not VCing so I can play EQed music loudly but I'm not sure I would regret this or not
Hmm think ill pass on it, currently have a headset with ANC apparently the astros don t have that
Don't you already have a good DAC?
No
I'd mostly want it because of the PEQ it has
Fair
If I were to save up for a wired headphone I'd probably do the D1 since it has good performance and much lower distortion than average for transducer technology
Also very good channel matching and low variation between heads
Pretty good
And yes I reach 115 dB unironically so it's relevant
Yes the DX1 is overkill power wise
But I'd want a physical volume knob as well as PEQ on the device itself and it has all that
Does it have loudness equaliser? I assume not
At least EqualiserAPO can do that
Jds element 4 has a nice EQ app, too bad it's so expensive
That would be my go-to but it costs more than the D1
There's apparently an RME ADI-2 successor coming soon and I assume it will also be very good and feature rich but it will also potentially be more expensive than the Element
Yes
💸
25% vat and other nonsense
I think I would save money by ordering it from America actually
Seems like topping is the lowest barrier to entry for a knob+peq dac amp
Schiit eq platform it's trash
25% 😭
Do they not have digital EQ yet? Are they still doing analogue EQ? Because analogue EQ sux
That have digital but it's only 3 bands lmao

I wonder why that is. I have no idea how you develop these things. If you can make 3 bands then wouldn't it be very easy to make it also support 20?
Yeah not sure
The RME only had 7
That's why Oratory occasionally makes specific EQ presets for the RME
Oh yeah. They are cool but too big. Also similarly priced to the Element
Well the K15 that is. K17 is much more
An extra 7.6 grams might not seem like much, but that's nearly 20% extra weight.
tbh, that's not "misleading advertisement" that's simply false advertisement/fraud
even considering industry deviations norms which usually are below 5% that's way to far outside that to justify it^^
That's not below 5% though ...
That's almost twenty percent at this point.
(oh I misread it. Sounded like you were defending it
)
was about to say xD
my english might not be perfect, but i'm fairly sure i didn't mess up enough for it to read like i'd defend fraud like that^^
trying to buy a new mouse, potentially wireless, budget up to 200-300cad, anyone got ideas
im pretty unfamiliar with mice that arent logitech and dont know what people use / what is popular or liked
To be fair it does say +-3g on the product page so really its a 4.6g difference (if his scale is correct that is)
Idk if it's counted with or without feet
Could be that the weight listed is only with dot feet
honestly, if it's labeled with a certain weight then it has to be that when shipped out, no matter if they offer different feet or something, heck, if they had different feet options they'd have to set the weight for each one individually if there was deviations because of it
someone de-throned finalmeme it seems
Beastx or beastg 💪
Lamzu, op18k, gwolves, pulsar
Can check deskhero and see whats available, free shipping across canada i think

what do you guys think of the Swiftpoint Z3? or even the Z2.
i had the z2 it was lowkey terrible random shit kept breaking after a avarage of 1-2 months
Shape too big
I dont have small hands
But its pretty big
Too long and too narrow at the same time.
Yeah the length is something i cant reach
razer naga > all
@obtuse dove @round lagoon I think I'm hearing distortion in the bass with my Astro now when playing hardstyle loudly
It sounds just a little bit «crunchy». I'm going back between it and my Airpods Max which are distortion-free by comparison and I don't hear it on those
This is with REALLY bass-tilted music though
Time to get a new headphones just for music
If I want no audible distortion I'd go for the D1 then since it performs fairly well in that
Astro actually has pretty good distortion performance. But clearly I am pushing it to its limits
HD800S is particularly high actually. I wouldn't like that for this kind of music
It's stupid that Rtings don't measure above 104 dBSPL
Okay this is somehow even bassier than the hardstyle I have
This is the song if you want to hear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rI5OfRMr3SQ
Artist: deadmau5
Release Date: 2009-09-22
Label: Ultra Records
Catalog #: N/A
Track: Soma
Duration: 06:07 / 128 BPM
Album: For Lack of A Better Name
Visuals: TheOtherMau5 © 2012
Though running out of volume is worse than small amounts of distortion
Rip
Ikr. At least it's only with the bassiest music I know and with the PEQdB preset at that
Hmm, I guess one sure way to know is to play Doin it Right by daft punk
Will it be bassier than this?
The bass will be lower but idk about louder
what is that pfp
Me or them?
soria
Lolz, I don't draw my own pfps, they're all commissioned works
I can't draw to save my life
Mine I stole lmao
Yours are usually recognized by birb
Fair, lmao, although I think I have way too many artworks of said birb
mine is just album art
I now have the fourth edition of Floyd Toole's «Sound Reproduction - The Acoustics and Psychoacoustics of Loudspeakers»
Highly recommend this book for anyone serious about sound quality
It has a section on headphones too btw
4th ed right?
hmm, kinda nice to see straight treble being the general human preference
That's also where I got it from
I own the third edition physically
But they are so expensive
yeah above like 4K the individual differences become very large due to the different shapes of our ears.
I wonder how much of bass preference in humans for headphones actually comes down to difference in leakage
Actually I think I asked this on ASR two years ago or something
yeah anatomical differences play a huge role
also age
higher frequencies are harder to hear simply because you are older
children are actually extra sensitive to treble frequenceis than someone in their 20s
I think the $4000 headphone here was the Focal Utopia or something if I remember correctly
This is old news by now but a big win for Harman nonetheless
hmm, 64
Truke
It's mostly the bass that differs. So it's more that «everyone preferred the Harman target but with varying levels of bass compared to most headphones tested»
Correct on the bass at least.
maybe the bass slider on the skullcandy crushers isnt a bad idea after all
It's good yeah assuming it lets you attenuate below baseline lmao
I think even on default it has very high amounts of basss
maybe my preference deviate too much lmao
on blind test I might like it, but it'll still feel weird
Too much energy here seems to be a common sign of a headphone that won't be preferred in listening tests
not necessarily referring to the headphones themselves but the idea of having a bass slider though.
kinda like how some desktop DAC/AMPS have a bass and treble knob.
Having a way to adjust sound should be the standard ideally
I wish Apple would make an EQ for their OS already
technically exists in settings but only for apple music :(
Apple Music is actually what I use when I have an iPhone. But only as a local file player
Is it PEQ or a graphic one
presets :(
What kind? Only for Apple headphones I assume
settings > search 'EQ', and you will see all the presets apple gives you, and its not exclusive to apple headphones.
yeah I noticed that too.
its actually surprisingly similar
we musn't show this to sharur, bro will glaze it
unless bro lurks here, which I highly doubt
He has probably looked at the book already
oh 100%
But I know he has mentioned the Knowles target before
yeah
all 3 are basically the same up until >5kHz
he gonna glaze himself
average stanford grad student
Preference between 300 Hz and 2 kHz is so similar between people
What is remarkable is that when the curves are normalized
at 500 Hz, the preference tolerance are quite narrow between 300 Hz to 2 kHz,
the most important range for speech and music. The bass and treble regions are
still quite narrow, ±2 dB below 125 Hz, and above 8 kHz with the broadest tol
erances ±3.5 dB falling between 3 and 5 kHz.
mean top rated is quite close to what I like
It's multiple
They were doing listenings tests and comparing 32 of them
Between 600 and like 1200 Hz the error bar is so low
Wtf everybody like the same thing in these frequencies
cause it's natural
classic
lmao
Many of those by now
10db tilted DF is another story though
Yeah though that's significantly different in the end
You will say if you like one or another
Several time for each frequency
And they will design the iem for you
denon got the BLAM
isnt JM1 a type of DF target?
you can tell the artist is a headphone pervert
It's something similar to a tilted DF target afaik. I don't remember
Well JM-1 with a tilt at least
There are so many targets it's hard to keep up
In ear and Over ear target is way diff
yeah no wonder it doesnt sound good to me, because other people in controlled listening tests also agree with me LMAO
Hmm, no complete translate here. Maybe I can get the raw scans and just read the japanese
JM-1 scores mediocrely at PEQdB but I'm not aware of any more «reputable» tests with it
yeah no new scans in 6 years
shame
JM-1 is not named in the book (no CTRL + F results) unless it goes by another name
Oh there is a section on the Headphone show guys though
https://comix.to/title/0yj3l-harmony-from-the-ears This one seems complete translation

what page?
oooo
any iem recomendations for like 125 euros max if i may ask
ill note that down i was considering the oriveti bleqk dynabird's cause ive heard a great bit about them aswell
I dont know these ones cannot comment
what do you like/dislike about them?
i dont have them rn i have a cheap pair thats like dying
iem or earbud?
iems
what iem?
what do you like/dislike about them?
i just like the overall feel and theres like almost no vocals from music idk how to explain it it just feels a little lacking
like theyre not bad but i do think it could be better
You can try tangzu waner. 1 or 2 doesn't matter since their treble is less than chu 2
it's about $20
ooh okay
any others i could look out for i really dont mind splurging more allegedly more money means better according to sources (reddit)
more money doesn't equal better
reddit would never lie
Other wise, nothing much, other than the more forward vocal and less treble, chu 2 and wan er are very much similar
until you have a better idea of what you want, I suggest saving money
oki doki ty for the advice
Yeah, honestly the Chu 2 isn't a horrible IEM to EQ with, I'd say play around with an EQ until you get something you like, get acclimated to it, then reassess. And see how your EQ compares to what's available on the market.
Its more that they're bassically dead atp the left one keeps lowkey dying
There is generally some guide as to what most people prefer, they are a really good starting point, but refine it from there, everyone hears stuff differently, especially the bass and treble frequencies since data shows that those have the highest amount of variance between people.
If you want a good platform to EQ off of but not being extremely expensive, the kiwi ears cadenza is pretty smooth as well as the Tanchjim Tanya DSP. They aren't the smoothest IEMs out there but for the price they are decently smooth and good enough to use to EQ.
weeb earbuds
Main good thing about the chu2 for me is the size, well wish the nozzle was not thickened by that screw on cap at times though. Lot of other iem's are just so bulky
I couldn’t find literally ANY good recommendations online, but since recently starting corporate life, I’ve been using a laptop that has ONLY USB C ports, are there any recommendations you have for a more premium, non shitty feeling mouse that either has a male usb c cable to connect directly without using an adapter, OR, is able to connect to a dell xps 16 without a dongle at all?
any bluetooth mouse
There are bluetooth supported mice so you don't need a dongle but it's not something I would recommend for gaming
Logitech MX Master is a popular one
Awesome! Is that the highest build quality you think I’ll find? I’m not gonna be doing any competitive gaming, I have a different setup for that, but actually am tweaking out with the shitter feeling normal office mice
If heavy feels premium to you it’s probably good
My wrist hurts after less than an hour using mx mice
If it's objectively the best best quality and mice I can't tell you as I haven't used many different office mice but it does feel premium, I don't really use one anymore but I used to use the old Master 2S.
It feels good in the hand, the scroll wheel feel is excellent.
Yeah it is quite heavy, I wouldn't use it for gaming.
I wouldn’t use it for anything where I need to use a mouse more than minimally, but I know a lot of people like them
Yea, my normal mice are like 30-48 grams ☠️ but they don’t feel like the CHEAP plastic of normal office mice and the buttons
The MX Master 3S is 141g
Fuck me 😭
They have detachable cables and is wireless
If you have a lot of mousing in your workflow it might be a bit much but if it’s mostly keyboard it might be fine
So you can still pick an usb c to usb c cable if you wish
I think they wanna avoid a dongle
Can you use the Pulsar ones without a dongle?
Yes, if you have a cable
I mean, I guess 😄
I have no USB A slots, and would either use a USB C male input or completely wireless, I don’t want to hastle with dongles or ugly af adapters 🙏
Well you can just put a regular dongle on a cable if that cable ends in a usb a port
And it's only like....24 grams too
But
There might be bluetooth ones
I use those angled upwards usc c male to asb a female adapters
And put my dongle on that
You're lucky, there is even an MX Master 4 that is even heavier, 150g.
Dunno if that one has bluetooth though.
I have a mx master 3 for working well at the end even for working I would prefer using a viper
BeastX Pro comes with a nano dongle that you can just plug into your USB-C port. You can choose solid sides so the holes won't be an issue imo. Other than that the mouse is very good, feels premium and has web software if you need it
ASUS ProArt MD301 is 109g, looks like a competitor to the MX Master, I have never used it though so you'd have to look up reviews and stuff.
WAIT WHAT???
I don't think they want to break their wrist
Do u have a photo of the nano dongles
This is also something I didn’t know about… 📝
It's not USB C
Yeah
rip
I'd still be scared my USB port will break if I put it in my bag with that on.
Lets you swap switches, hehe.
And 99.7g vs 141+g with Logitech….
180 days batterylife, should be good enough.
MX master is goated office mouse
Yeah it's nice, wish it was a tad lighter
holy brick
Yeah it is so heavy
This tbh
The magnetic scroll wheel is just unbeatable
It switches between the notched mode and the smooth scroll mode so seamlessly you stop thinking about it switching
Ok I want to know if it is in my head or not. I find the sound better (more bass and energetic) on an explorer plugged to a macmini with the jack port than on an ipad with apple dongle 🤔
explorer?
Aful explorer the iem
could just be differences in output impedance of the 2 sources.
It is crazy how good the jack port is on mac mini
Retrospectively I bought it last year and what a good little machine
yeah generally apple has put really good audio sources in their macs.
I dont regret getting it at all
esp macbook air, pro, and neo
Yeah neo seems quite good for the price
too bad they discontinued the 256gb model
looks like even apple cant get enough nands to supply for their macs
you know its bad when apple has to start discontinuing certain models because they dont have certain necessary parts to make them
LMAO
nice
The only good buy I did without knowing it
I regret not upgrading my pc
Still on am4
lmao rip
Yeah 😵💫
Think you're confusing Mac mini and Mac studio
no they used to have a 256gb mac mini and now they dont anymore. new base storage is 512gb
similarly the 512gb macbook pro no longer exists
and the 256gb macbook air no longer exists.
Well at the meantime the 256 base storage was so low
O, yeah they got discontinued
But yeah they probably shouldn't have existed anyway
yeah the old base configs were horrific
the new base configurations make a lot more sense now
I'm super tempted to pick up a Mac mini
Plus this machine does not heat and much more powerful than my 5600x on some python and julia task
For working I never use my pc
the new base model mac mini is still a really good price.
yeah
I dont know maybe it makes sense to wait for M5 but with these issues with ram
Everything is changing so fast
Apple is one of the rare company that stayed calm despite the ram issue with no crazy price increase
Probably had contracts with good prices well in advance going
Yeah also given the volume of things they get
oh for sure, although mac isnt a very popular product line when compared to their other products like iPhone and iPad.
