very true
what brand in the mouse world would be equal to wooting in the keeb world
WLMouse no?
Lamzu, pulsar newer mices
like any of pulsar's crazylight series mice
that is a busy looking mouse and maybe compliments Holy60 enjoyers
whatever you want it to be, no peripheral has turned the tide similar to Wooting; not since the Gpro Superlight maybe?
Good luck cleaning that one
Ive had the dame issue but with a pair of anc sennheiser hesdphones. What can be done to fix it?
Iirc, there's a software that sends constant signal to the headphone that mitigate that. My dac fiio qx13 have some sort of feature like that.
On its driver
Like one you can download?
Yep.
But i don't use it cause the issue on my end sudden disappears after a bit.
Do you by any chance remember the software name?
No, but I can tell you in 1-2 hour
Thanks!
SoundKeeper
That looks like too much air to me on the Monarch
could be, haven't tried the IEM myself
phantom only $40, so it's pretty cheap to try out
Holy dust accumulator
If I were doing an endgame build I'd buy this and EQ it using the Element IV
Ayyy, great mind thinks alike.
It's mostly endgame because of comfort and luxurious feel
another time we hear immediately
Monarchs my beloved
overrated? finalmouse
You didnt buy with credit card?
I didn’t
My endgame will be HE1, I will die on the HE1 hill until I hear something better
You would probably like it less if you actually owned it and had the possibility to listen to it a bunch especially compared to other EQed headphones
I think the fanciness of it, price, expectation bias and also the fact that most only get a very limited amount of time with it contributes to its reputation
Maybe if I tried different electrostatics like Audezee CRBN 2 I might change my opinion
are he1s heavy
I think they are light
Electrostatic headphones are usually never heavy. I can't name a single heavy one
550g
But it's very high voltage so it makes sense that it needs a thick cable
From my time listening to headphones for a short time at stores, they usually sound better the short duration there than when I bring them home and listen to them for a while
That doesn't seem right
Yeah.
Oh it is apparently
I always thought they were 300 or something
ye more then double then what normal sennheisers weigh
so maybe not the best daily headphone 😅
A decent amount of the weight is probably from the cables
No its without
Oh 100%, when I tried HE1 you can feel the cables weighing it down
Are they detachable?
They are
the listenings just mention excluding cables
But they're hard to remove is the issue
That's a heavy headphone then. Guess I was wrong
So removable(ish)
I can't imagine doing it unless there are much lighter alternatives around or if the lenght is wrong
They give you a decently long cable
does it sound better then speakers at a similar price point tho
I was decently surprised
Speakers at that price point can sound good or terrible
That could be due to room tuning and whatnot
if you know your shit or find someone to set it up for you
If you take the HE-1 budget into soundproofing a room, getting good linear speakers and calibrate them I don't see any headphone competing, even if the speakers are just stereo
like you could probably get a full real dolby atmos setup or sum
I'd say my speakers are better than the HE-1 or any other headphone
But speakers are the cream of the crop
My weakness lies in my less than ideal room and no subwoofer currently
4.1 or 5.1 yeah
nah more
It takes a lot of work to set up atmos properly but once you get it done it's really good
probably just a physics diff at some point
No stereo beats good surround
with a bad mix maybe
3/4 of HE1 can lit buy you an apartment in my place. I just use the 1/4 to sound proof a room and get a 490.
Well you also need an atmos supported amplifier and a calibration mic
if the music was actually made for and with such a setup
Apple Music has some good atmos tracks
And movies that support atmos are pretty amazing
never had a surround setup tho so idk
with headphones its mostly a joke
and soundbar ill just use stereo even if they call it dolby atmos xd
It kind of works, but you don't get the same wide soundstage that you get with a speaker setup
By definition by Dolby Labs they are technically atmos
i like it for games
Since they bounce sound off the walls
not good
for most people probably
To me most headphone implementations of atmos sound the same
Eh, they do have a lot of example atmos layouts in their manual that have speakers that are meant to fire upwards and bounce sound off the ceiling.
My speakers were 17 000 crowns, for a total of 20 000 with the calibration equipment. The HE-1 would be around 1 000 000 crowns. And my speakers are better, more so with two subwoofers added and maybe further room treatment which is still significantly under the cost of the HE-1
The HE-1 is a luxury product meant to be a full package (dac, amplifier and headphones) all in one. It's very high quality built and the valves (which yes is inferior technology but whatever) even comes out from the block made of real ceramic or something. It also has a pretty good sound as evident by the tuning. All this aside, you could also call it a veblen good:
Veblen goods are luxury items where demand increases as the price increases, defying the normal law of demand because their high cost signals status, exclusivity, and wealth, making them desirable for conspicuous consumption, such as designer bags, luxury cars (Rolls-Royce), or expensive watches (Rolex). The perceived quality and prestige are linked to the price, so a higher price enhances their appeal as a status symbol rather than deterring buyers.
The thing is this still requires calibration with a mic which a lot of atmos soundbars don't have which is very unfortunate
ye defensively not a function first product
might also be hard to sell
1mil? 😭
NOT USD
instead of just catering it towards rich people
would have to compare good speaker setups and these headphones to really judge
I'd say the function is on a similar level to the build quality and such. It's clearly a good sound
But of course, package the same sound into a much cheaper looking, built and priced product that doesn't have a beautiful black of ceramic with valves coming out of it, and a lot of the magic would disappear even during listening
A good atmos setup will beat any headphone tbh
The book I have about loudspeakers talks over and over again about how stereo listening is inherently compromised and that the real «endgame» is in surround setups
I agree
Is it that silly sennheiser headphone that comes with a tube amp
Even though tube apps are woefully inefficient
I can buy a nice car for that price
although it might also be a bit fake
And the valves are even hidden inside when not used. They come out when you turn it on
in a way
Can’t beat physics
cuz like realistically when would a human be inbetween the instruments and sounds
Less about physics and tbh it's more about psychoacoustics and how HRTF plays into that.
1 000 000 NOK is around $100 000 USD. I believe the official US price of the HE-1 is around $60k now? Or it had increased a bit further in price. That plus Norwegian VAT becomes roughly 1 million NOK
yeah I live right next to you so I’m aware of kronor
Your brain expects certain sounds because of how your ears and how your head is shaped. And headphones and earbuds kind of bypass that.
Whatever 60k is plus 25%
75
Nvm it's a bit more than 1 million
So it's around 1 300 000 NOK
That is of course ridickulous
But with speakers the source of the sound is far enough away and is radiated wide enough that you are able to perceive the expected sound as such rather than do what earbuds and headphones do which is try to reconstruct the sound by taking into account the average HRTF of most people.
Yeah that’s tricking your brain, that’s one way of doing it
i can buy a car that sounds better for that money
Should be around 1 mil cause it’s 70k euros from Sennheiser themselves
I'd rather buy several Genelec Ones speakers for a surround setup
But obviously the HE-1 is a product made for engineering fun and if you have to ask the price you aren't the target for it anyway etc.
Oh okay
It's why lots of headphones and earbuds never have a completely flat tuning. It's because if they were tuned flat it will not be perceived as such by the brain due to HRTF but with tuned flat speakers they will sound a lot more neutral to the brain.
You just have to send an inquiry cause they’re made to order instead
is it not on amazon
Any smaller alternatives to Adam audio T5Vs? Kinda want some speakers but space is limited
Would kinda be weird if a made to order product was sold on Amazon
Not enough space for bookshelf units?
Yeah it's much easier to get neutral sound out of loudspeakers since you can more easily measure the FR with a microphone at your listening position to confirm that it is what you want. So before entering your ears and being shaped by your own hearing, the sound is as uncoloured as you can get and as a result as natural to you as possible. At least in most cases. People prefer neutral sounding speakers in blind listening at least
can they make speakers only i can hear
Honestly not sure, the T5Vs are the ones im most familiar with in terms of size
But they’re just too big for my desk + monitor setup
On the sides
Exactly, because speakers are placed far enough away that your own unique HRTF modifies the sounds as it travels through your ear canal and interacting with your eardrum in a way that your brain expects it to.
Just slap them next to your monitors
Could look at IK Multimedia iLoud Micro Pro
They're a stereo pair
With one unit being the DAC+ AMP
And they're not super expensive
need a big ass table for that
Like 300 bucks
one monitor is in the corner
I had these. They're good
Aye! They're impressive for how small they are
Yeah seen those around, sad part is that it’d kill the look of my setup
Rip
How does your setup look?
Been using HDR on my monitor the past few days and the VRR flickering really sucks. I can't believe there are people that say this isn't a problem at all
Fiio's new EH11 is a Bluetooth on-ear headphone that costs just $30. And it sounds way better than it ought to. Or at least it can, if you utilize it's built-in parametric EQ features. So does the rest of the product live up to the potential of its PEQ promises? The last time I was this excited about a $30 headphone was almost 10 years ago when ...
eh
Not passive, pass
They really named it «eh»
yesh
Some are more sensitive to it than others, but how bad the flicker is also depends on the monitor
dont use vrr
Well, it’s a WIP kind of thing
Speakers would have to come after I get a new monitor
for me on WOLED the flicker is not noticable
although that could be because my frame rates usually dont wildly change a lot
just hdr with raised sdr brightness had bad enough flicker for me
On my LG C2 they were very noticeable. Now I'm using the PG27UCDM and they are just as noticeable
I have PG32UCDP and its not very noticable with HDR enabled
I just turned off vrr all together cause the raised gamma sucks
Introducing Synapse Web Beta.
Take control and make quick customizations directly through your browser, anywhere. Beta test today on select Razer Huntsman V3 keyboards: https://t.co/NxIegcSnDR
hope Logitechs Version gets released in 2 weeks for the Superstrike
is it only for their keyboards?
rn yes...
Swing and a miss holy
fahhhh
With plans to add the rest of their older keyboards right
No idea haven't used a Razer keyboard since 2013
No idea either, i used my Blackwidow v3 for a couple months before transitioning to the 80HE, but refused to install any software with it.
The last razer board I had was the Xbox partnership lmao, this one
technically not called an amp in this scenario
well HE-1s will sound good in most rooms, no matter the speaker your room can essentially just be bad accoustically which can make speakers sound ass
even if you do add dampening
70k euro 💀
Calibration with a microphone plays a large part in making it sound as good as possible without having an optimised room
most rooms are just plain ass accoustically
since they tend to have parallel walls and ceiling/floor
No more background services??
@hazy fiber wow
Why?
I heard they aren't terrible honestly
Can't wait, too bad I have no money. Good thing I might go to Singapore this year to try it out
I will EQ my headphones to the PEQdb Ultra target
JM-1
Trying it now and it sounds good! Though I am reaching the limits of my Astros on some songs due to the negative gain
Rest in peace
Oh yeah, got to experience macbook pro 14 inch. Quite nice, better than what I expected
MacBooks are lovely as long as you don't struggle with the OS
So far, I struggle more with windows laptop compared to mac OS lmao
please use linux, believe in tux supremacy
I like your floor
too overkill. I like it
Too expensive
is this a good mousepad
I’ve got black and wood pc, black wooting and black mousepad, any ideas on what colour of mouse I should get
?
white
wood mouse
lol

what happened

Been waiting a while for my refund now so I started a dispute with my bank, now they’re acting like ’oh did you not receive any refund?’
more than me tryna get the free wooting uwu
Now they’re telling me I should cancel the dispute
Like damn I’ll do that after you give me my money
Not possible while a dispute is active
Though even if you drop it, the banks will take their sweet time in unlocking the funds, weeks or months
It isn’t? Damn
Will the bank still help me if I cancel it and gwolves keeps not refunding me
This is about the third time I’ve been told they’ll have my refund processsed immediately
You're stuck between a rock and a hard place
Do you trust the company to eventually make it right? If so, it's better for you and for them to drop the dispute.
If you don't, then you probably shouldn't drop it because you can't re-dispute it later
Yeah I’d rather trust the bank then even if it takes forever I think
It’s not a large sum of money that I need desperately
It'll likely mean that you'll never be able to purchase from them again
Not at all or just on the same card?
Whatever is linked to your shopper ID; name, address, cards, devices. Depends on the complexity and robustness of their payment services
If your shopper ID builds up a history of charge disputes, that can also impact your perceived risk across eCommerce
One dispute, or even a few over time, won't matter for that. But using the nuclear option regularly has negative consequences
Yeah I’m not looking to do any more disputes any time soon, as most of the companies I shop from are nice enough to refund me after I’ve sent the product back
Mistakes happen, things can be overlooked
yeah I understand, do you think it would be in my best interest to drop the dispute?
not to mention they just dropped my other ticket and stopped responding
I think it's in g-wolves best interest for you to drop it, and I think that it eventually won't make a difference for you.
But it's a question of whether or not you trust them to follow through after the fact
That's normal during a chargeback
They have a policy, like most companies, to fully end all communication when a chargeback is issued
the dispute is only very recent, my previous ticket is unrelated to this return
they stopped responding to that one long before I started the dispute
Gwolves support still dogshit 🔥
Thanks for the input anyway 🙏 I'm sure you're a lot more familiar with the subject than me
Hi, does anyone have a good desk for a setup?
I do all my debatable purchases through my PayPal card. PayPal is genuinely top 5 customer support of all time lol
hit them with the charge back
fudge them
it's already hit bro
that's why they started talking to me again
hell yeah
Sounds like they just have shite service lmao
let the bank deal with it
if they honored their word in the first place you wouldnt have need to go to the bank to start the charge back
let them suffer
yeah I had some switches that I bought and they were delayed, so I contacted customer support both through their website and over email, recieved no response at all, so I talked to paypal and got a refund, even after the switches were delivered I have not gotten any response at all, and the switches shipped waaay after my refund
whats the policy with paypal ? Like how many months can you dispute the transaction
no clue
well hopefully you get your refund soon
it'll probably take a while since I'm dealing with my bank but yeah
90 days
my bank has horrible error messages, I was trying to add 4 documents, but 2 of them wouldn't work at all, becuase the files had # in the name, but the error message just said to try again later
ty beautiful
PayPal is amazing
@wet coral have you heard anything bad about the holy60 case? as much as the tofu and gt60 look nice thats kinda out if range for me :(
afaik holy60 costs more than the tofu
but yes, i have a clone of one
fahhhh
Very noice
hot, one day I'll drop a stack on some mezes
I'm tempted to buy myself some 490's if they weren't so damn expensive
Is a stream deck plus worth it as a non streamer?
You can do shortcuts and stuff
The music controls and volume knobs seems really good for mixing audio while in a match
I saw theres some plugins like helldivers stratagems tho would probably be too annoying to use realistically
Honestly I think it's a great tool, but you should only get it if you have some spare money for a cool toy
Amazing, I have it and love it
I integrated my xlr into it
Nice!
Any of you guys recommend a good gaming mouse. No budget. Wireless
I'm thinking of making some kind of way to scrub the timeline in Sony Vegas using the knobs 🤔
What is your hand size?
Id say small/medium. i haven’t used a mouse in over 15 years
Oh yeah you totally could, there's plugins that make it work basically as a glorified macro pad
I just got my first gaming pc a few months back. And got my first keyboard being the wooting 80he and need a complimentary mouse
How??
Im coming from console
This what you using?
Ohh lmao
I'd say G pro wireless is a nice universal fit for most ppl. I got a Lamzu Maya since they refuse to make a gpw mini for ppl with tiny hands like me
Personally I use a super light pro 2, but I know there's definitely a ton of alternatives people love that have the exact same features at a lower price point with slightly lesser software
It's also important what your grip style is, do you use claw or palm?
I was thinking logitech g pro x superlight 2
Logitech pro x 2 superstrike
But i know nothing about mice.
I do a mix of palm and claw, no fingertip
I also heard about deathadder v4pro and viper v3pro
Supposedly the deathadder is great, software is straight malware till they release that new web version though
Razer synapse is really bad
My buddies say Logitech
Worst software I've ever used
I have a Logitech and can't complain. If you're a college student they offer a discount if you order from their website as well
If you use mixed claw palm a Pulsar X2H h=hump might be a good fit
Never heard of pulsar
I really want to try one of those pulsar crazy lights at some point
Something I've been looking into recently is the Orbital Pathfinder. It's a modular mouse where each piece comes apart and it can be made into a clone of pretty much any mouse shape
Heard about that, expensive af tho
Thanks for the advice, my wz buddies said logitech but i wanted more opinions and yall the 4th person to say razer software is poop
If a GPW feels too big I would def go for a lamzu atlantis mini or maya mini
Yep, Logitech is good, just stay away from the x2 super strike rn
the superlight 2 c exists
or do you want the extra side buttons
I was just looking at it😢
Whats wrong with it
I went from Razer Deathadder>Razer Naga>logi G703>logi GPW>logi GPW SL>Pulsar X2>now lamzu maya/atlantis
It's basically a wooting mouse, but it's the first generation so it's bound to have issues lol
For 180 bucks I'm waiting till there's a review
bruh
You have me at wooting mouse
shipping february 10
review starts at 3:00, sorry if you aren't a fan of the upper lower middle class gameplay that precedes it, was just having fun. I've been on KBM for about a year and really enjoy aim training, viscose videos and other regular aiming dude things. this is probably my first and last upload. but if i get bugged to make more, i would be happy to be ...
3min intro
I'll buy one then, but idk is I could trust haptic clicks
but after that
Thats what im looking for, no budget. I want the best of the best. Im just a new pc player
it will most likely be the fastest in terms of clicks
but shape still more important and all
I wonder if my secretlab desk will cause the super strike to misinput lmaooo
I miss having 12 side buttons like on the naga, was so good with arpgs or warframe
But was heavy asf and broke
The naga was sick tho, I loved the idea of swapping out the side panels
I totally forgot about that! It was ahead of it's time for sure
The superstrike haptics tech must have been brought over from the MX Master 4
I wonder if bestbuy have those mice on display to try
not yet
I used to work there last year but i never know what they post up display wise
I was thinking of the secret lab desk. But idk if my monitor arm will fit it. So imma get a flexi spot cause ive had no problems with my current. Just want it bigger
I have a flexi spot and can vouch they are really good!
Never had any issues setting it up or taking it apart to move
I have a flexi spot e2 rn but i wanna buy a flexispot E7
That desk has issues with wooting just for you know
Wym?
Yea its good. The one desk i have on my wishlist sold out yesterday. The E7pro cable management line
Saving for it, but rn getting my girlfriend a upgraded setup
What mousepad do you have?
It can cause random keypresses while u are not even touching the keyboard
I have 2 random mouse pads from amazon, to match my theme
Good to know! Thanks
Ill stick with just my secret lab chair
Magnets on magnets are not the best
I peeped, i got the zinc allow version. It would be a big magnet
The switches doesnt like the magnets not the case
A big thing to make sure when on pc is to make sure enhance pointer precision is off cause aim will be inconsistent with mouse acceleration
I turned that off the moment i got my pc, im still so new. Im 3 months in. My buddies told me
Mine came back with a windows 11 update and threw me off so bad
You seem knowledgeable , ill keep it noted. I wont buy it
It is usable but u have to put more stuff under the keyboard
Ill stick with flexi spot
I'm curious how the new steam controller will feel, didn't really like the old one
That steam controller looks like poop
Built like
Amazing desk, only issue is the normal version is steel and likes to produce misinputs on my wooting when I don't have a keebmat lol
I wont buy it. Not for a headache
U must of been madd
Is it difficult to adjust from a regular mechanical to a wooting?
I just found out about wooting like a month ago and was like i found my first and last keyboard aha
nope. Unless you really miss tactile switch feeling
Like, if you're already using mech keyboard of any kind, switching to woot would be pretty much the same other than the switches feeling extremely smooth
0.1 actuation sounds amazing for cs or val
Lowest ill put mine is .5 or 1
I been using one and its day 2 of owning my wooting. Very nice i main cod also and some fort
And im a roller player, i wanna dabble in some mnk
Gamepad mode also sounds so cool, will make driving in games like cyberpunk much better with kb
I wish BF6 supported mixed input
Tbh cbp77 has an okay driving feeling
Is there a way to sort by most popular or most used wootility profiles?
That would be cool, if you get a response lmk
noice, love my element IV
haptic is fine, superior even compared to microswitches since there is no actual mechanical parts that can actually fail over time.
at least when considering the signal chain
iphone 7 home button aah mouse
nah, the clicks arent bad, just different
also high key apple switching to haptic home buttons was so nice
because my god the amount of touchID sensors with the mechanical mechanism that I had to fix was insane
ever since apple switched to the haptic system there were way less home button failures
I’m not saying it’s bad I’m just comparing the two
x2narrow why the dumb name
Atleast this ain't SuperTank
just call it X2N
N for narrow
oh wait
it is just X2N
I dont see anything wrong with that name tbh
Can anyone help my iems r quiet in game when full volume and everything but kinda loud when I’m listening to songs
Check ingame audio settings
Look at Windows audio sliders
Yeah they all are fine
Is every game quiet?
I guess your right with that, I wonder how different the actual feel of the click will be since it's no longer physical clicks
guys what’s the best gaming iems mine isn’t working, maybe doesn’t perform well with gaming.
there is no best gaming iems
Then stick with headphones?
What's your budget?
idk preferably not over 100
I’m using steelseries arctis wireless
Truthear zero red, simgot ew300, or truthear hexa i guess. Safe recc would be the zero red
what about the blue?
Too much treble.
are they good for gaming?
Could be problematic for some
I mean, more even treble could mean more detail
Nope
and red could be problematic in fit because of the nozzle width
guys blue 2 or red?
If I'm you, i go for red
Ok tysm!
what is that chinese copium?
Guys do I need a dac or am I fine plugging into my pc?
You'll be fine without dax
Dac
alright tysm!
Seems like a generic OEM HE keyboard that wont get much software support for as long as wooting
The best one is the one with your favourite frequency response in your ears while also being comfortable
That doesn't mean it's a complete shot in the dark of course, there are ways to hone in on this. It's not all wild west
how is a layout thats just chopping off 3 keys... proprietary in any way
It's using the wrong word. But you get the idea
I have the blues, wish I got the red
yeooo
peak
✂️
Didnt even make the cuts straight 😔 😔
Yo can anybody rec good skates for a glasspad? im using the esptigers i got from kanami for free
thanks day ruined
I like that they added overpriced to Wooting then posted a bunch of stuff that costs a lot of money to have
as if long term software/firmware support, 4 year warranty, cs and all the bells and whistles are just free things that can be provided for same price lol
wow
You can, if you have OEM do it for you

Damn lots of mouse news out today
The marathon ps5 controller looks clean
still USA only, but I got my headset already for christmas :3
🟪 ARTISAN NINJA FX KEY-83 PURPLE has gone live!

Our official reseller partners are expected to carry them in a few months. Thank you for your patience as always!
Smaller (6.4mm in diameter) variant of Mizugumo Futae Mouse skate is also scheduled to
@normal acorn can you send that emoji by itself so I can steal it

which one?
The sweating cat bug
that looks very peculiar, that just looks like a 3950 sensor but MCU being used is anyones guess until one is opened up
the differences compared to even the new 54H are interesting tho
but its angry miao 😭
ts better be some custom 2nm tsmc mcu
considering that its been identified as an 8-bit MCU I dont have high hopes
nordics nRF54H20 is 32-bit
not march, march 31st smh
it also doesnt help that they lasered off the real part numbers off the 2 MCUs themselves and lasered on their own markings LMAOOOOO
I am actually curious as to why they go through this effort to hide the parts they are actually using LMAO
they even did a horrible job with lasering off the original markings too LOL
It finally arrived 👀
nice nice, what's that?
these
those looks uncomfy to see lmao
Could I use a condensor mic far away from my mouth, whereas dynamic mics need to be pretty close?
or does it just not matter
You can, although in general regardless of the type of mic proximity to mouth is still a key factor in quality of sound
yea, my desk's inability to use a clamp boom arm is really annoying
The mics to be used away from the mouth are marked as directional or shotgun and they still shouldn't be far
guys i am using sennheiser ie 300 iem and i am plugging into a headphone dac becasue i dont have any dac for iems but my bullets sound so sharp and highpitched what dacs can you reccomend thats not to expensive?
Dac doesn't change the sound if they're built well
my dac is for headphones
so doesnt pair well with iems
Just reduce volume/gain
The Arctis DAC is designed for full-size headphones, not IEMs.
With low-impedance IEMs like the IE 300, this:
boosts upper mids
messes with frequency response
makes treble glare worse
how?
Through the dac/windows volume control.
I guess if you really want a dac for iem, I can recommend fiio qx13.
hm?
I mean like, if the treble is too high it could just be the volume. The dac that you shows isn't even particularly powerful.
that's kinda a nice deal for wireless ers, I think that cable is sold for $200 separately
That's only for awful dacamps
Even cheap stuff like apple dongle and cx31993 won't have that problem (and those can run most full sized headphones no problem)
Where did you get this? AI? It's not true
but ai never lies
How the frequency response of headphones might change with an impedance mismatch depends on the impedance curve of the headphones themselves. And what is treble glare?
treble glare is what you get when the sun reflects of treble
AI is especially bad at anything audio related because it pulls from Headfi and the countless other nonsense blogs and forums
dont forget the reddit experts that make it accurate again
Yea I asked ChatGPT lol
There's a message I tried to post a while back but was blocked by some auto censor bot, can I post it and you can tell me what part of the message goes against the rules? I'm a bit confused by it myself
Idk what's blocked in it
same its discords own very specific rule that has the specific name of "block spam content"
Unfortunate
XD
I did copy it from somewhere else but I don't think it's anywhere near popular enough to be a copypasta
yo is that a apple tv
no but it has the whole wall of text format of no real whitespace
What is it called?
Just came with my steelseries Arctic’s pro wireless headphones
Is there even a headphone output on it
Page not loading for me
Same
Does it just handle Windows volume or something
i think its a basestaation/dac combo where it controls headphone volume not windows volume
The SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless come with a USB wireless transmitter base. The headset's battery is charged directly in the transmitter and is inserted like a cartridge. You plug the transmitter into a USB port of a PC or console to use the headset wirelessly.
So do I need another dac for iem?
apple dongle?
I had one of those, then it caught terrible OLED burn-in and also died thanks to an update permanently cutting the connection to the headphones
the pc makes the iem quiet
damn xD
idkk what to do
im using sennheiser ie 300
and the sound when shooting to high pitched or sharp
Yes. But depending on the length of the cables to your IEM and how far away your PC is it might be too short. So would need an extension cable or just one of those USB hubs
nah the length is perfect
the steelseries dac right ontop lol
but wouldnt the same problem jsut reoccur of it being to quiet?
Plug it into your PC not the Steelseries thing (which wouldn't be possible anyway)
It won't be quiet
it isss thoo
Not the dongle
with the 3.5m
how come?
The Apple dongle has plenty of power for the IE 300
because it has more power...
ok thanks so much sorry if im a pain in the ass
Even the handicapped Yuropean one has enough power for it
If you can buy expensive earbuds, the very cheap Apple dongle is a safe investment
ty
my apple dongle died but it has since come back to life
Tim Apple has done it again
Need some wall hack headphone recommendations, went from Steelseries to IEMs and back to Steelseries nova pro wireless. Thinking of trying HD560s next but not sure how big of an improvement it will be to sacrifice quality of life features
No headphone will give you anything like this
My zero blue:2 has pretty crazy audio in games
If you want good footstep audio you can eq for it but itll make everything else sound like shit
I love being able to split my monitor into 2 27's lmao
Any plastic case for the normal 60 would work
Tray mount yes, friction fit no
What you guys prefer vv3 pro or beast x max for aggressive claw grip and 19cm hands
To whoever told me dont get razer. W mans😂 my friend got it and the software is trash!
Straight malware
You're best off setting up the mouse then uninstalling the software lol

Hardware manufacturer Razer doesn't know what it's doing when it comes to hardware and software, it seems, with a mountain of complaints from its customers about defects and RMA issues. Razer has problems with its Blade laptop's trackpad / touchpad, crashing and BSODs, external display ...
He got a keyboard told him dont install the software. Now mid game multiple times he gets tabbed out
surely can't be that bad given how Razer stacks up in the pro scene, along with Logi. And sponsored players are not obligated to use their mice afaik
https://prosettings.net/guides/gaming-mouse/ 🤷♂️
It's pretty bad, luckily you don't really need to touch it on a mouse it's kind of a set and forget peripheral for the most part
It'd be fine if it just did what it needed to do without all the added bloat, which the upcoming web configurator should do assuming it comes to the rest of their product line up
Would installing a boom arm upside down cause any problems
cause im thinking of just installing on the shelf above my desk
nope, actually a lot of people do that
right angle cable 💢 had to fix it
i also point my 90degree connectors up for maximum damage
I quite like this cable, but not the 90 degree connector, I don't remember any time I've found them to be nice

mmm, now that I fully main the macbook with the computer be just a rhythm game machine, I now have a space for a speaker. Prop get it in a year or so, hd490 is more than enough for music production then maybe grab the Crinear Reference too cause the treble is soo straight, I can EQ it easily to match hd490's sound signature.
not sure about the 3k peak but overall, I love it. So little bass, flat mids without that smol vshape and really straight treble.
That's for eargain, its probably ok
I know it's tuned after this which I don't know what is but I see «diffuse field» and automatically assume it's bad
why is that bad?
It's a bit bright and boring to most people. Definitely not a good target if you want many to like the sound. But I don't know how JM-1 differs
I don't think there are any listening tests that verify JM-1 as a good target
It doesn't perform very well at PEQdB
Though the FR looks solid for EQing anyway
Yes I have HDR on and no I don't know how to take good pictures with desktop HDR on
yesh, which is why I still wanna get it
Looks fine to me, at least it's not microwaved
True that, couldnt even tell not going to lie. Except maybe the bright greys
Now that i can tell
lmao
It's been like this for years. Idk if it's the program I'm using (lightshot) or something else
its just an unavoidable thing when you convert HDR to SDR
bright things just get compressed
i kinda want new MOUSE
There are what feels like 1,000,000 million options to choose from.
amazon basic mouse
what you looking for
me too, now that I have my dream keyboard and audio gear
One can only hope
mouse that lets me have like
mad precise camera precision
they might be asking for like, what grip you use, or how much you would be willing to spend, or maybe even hand size
not having any requirements or preferences makes it more difficult to recommend something
I really like my pulsar x2 crazylight
Hand size and shape is probably the two most important when you choose
deathadder v2 for reference
ig the closest thing i can describe with what else i want is like
imagine playing osu with mouse
Wait, that charger reminds me of my AliExpress dock from 4 years ago wtf
fm is good for another 10 years, surviving on the back of broken rep is what they do best
Any modern high end gaming mouse can do this
oh yeah i also need a mouse that can be programmed for macros
i like programming these 2 side buttons to have a macro that's relevant for the game im playing and an autoclicker
I just realized that I should have stopped using Intel Graphics Command center on my laptop a while ago LMAO
I only now just found out that Intel released a new app called Intel Graphics Software.
cat, check the Swiftpoint Z2, i don't remember all the details, but it might be good for you
whatdafack $189
ok budget is $130-150 max
or actually
my deathadder doesn't have anything really wrong with it except for the
rubber falling off
yeah
no new mice
my deathadder v2 is good enough
i just need a grip replacement
yeah get new grips and maybe dot feet
so like
i jsut need to scrape all the rubber off
and then install the grip tape
wait
do i install grip tape over my worn down rubber
or do i install it after i scrape all the rubber off
I'd just get a new mouse that rubber stuff is nasty and it's gonna look scuffed
does it look like that? if so just peel it off and get new replacement ones from aliexpress
yeah id not throw away a mouse for less than 2€ in rubber grips
Yeah you've never tried peeling that rubber off
Good luck
That adhesive is a nightmare
i did on my razer naga it was a bit of a pain but its not that bad , worst thing you can just use alcohol and patience
only reason id retire a mouse if the shell wears through
yeah like visible and irreversible surface damage
realistically that 2014 naga did hold on for 9 years so it did not owe me anything when the left click broke. as in the litteral shell broke
Thats a very good runtime indeed
Yeah, I think 6 years for the deathadder v2 is a good run too
wow that was a pain in the ass
i got it in the end though
yeah i dont think i have a reason to retire the deathadder
I’ve never really had any issue removing grips
Razer mice use a real nasty adhesive, or at least they did when I used them
@quasi field so I plugged my truthear zero blue 2 into my laptop audio jack, big mistake LMAO
What happened?
holy bass
I think I just experienced fatfreq scarlet mini levels of bass ngl LMAO
Big impedance mismatch?
Did it sound bad?
I've been trying the PEQdB OE target and I think it sounds good
It's also quite bassy but it doesn't sound bloated or overly warm
I like it as well
how did the target do in their target shootout?
for you at least
I didn't do the shootout I just EQed to the target
I did a few songs on the target shootout but didn't like using the stock music provided and didn't understand how to do the test with my own files so I quit
I dont think you can add your own files to the target shootout yet but I think they are working on adding that functionality in
there is the personalized EQ tool though which does allow you to import your own music files but it requires the listener to be more strict with their listening preferences to be able to get a good target curve out of it.
A noticeable flaw with how PEQdB works is the reliance on online measurements taken from squig.link no matter the quality or reliability of them. And of course any potential unit variation is not taken care of
For example compare the A50 Gen 5 and A50X measurements both from Gadgetrytech. They are the same headphone but with different connectivity features for the dock. And yet his measurements vary quite a bit in level especially for the bass with a 5 dB difference in places. And so depending on if I build my EQ based on the A50X or Gen 5 the results will be quite noticeably different. And I honestly have no reliable way to know if my unit is more like his A50X measurements or the Gen 5. Nor do I really know if the difference here is unit variance or measurement variance
If this means that the A50 can have this much unit variance in bass that is of course bad itself and makes online EQ less reliable albeit not a problem in the end if you just adjust to preference
at least in the peqdb studio you can select all the measurement curves that PEQdb has access to and average them all out and then export that and then import it into PEQdb as a custom measurement curve.
but if you want something more proper you kind of have to measure yourself
but taking the average of all the measurement curves it has access to is probably the best middle ground solution to that problem
It's not a real issue for me in the end since I just adjust it until preference so how my unit correlates to online graphs isn't that important in that aspect
fair
Hi. Can someone recommend me a good glass mouse pad? I have been waiting for cr-005 from wallhack but I have a hurry sickness. Something similar to cr-005. Thank you ❤️
Check latest glsswrks mousepad
Yeah I did, is it good? cr005 is more control oriented

TLDR: MDR MV1, Arya, ath R50x, HD490 pro
They have grown so much
Just a few years ago they were circlejerking about muh technicalities, separation etc. as if they are real things outside of FR and distortion
yeah, and HRTF. psychoacustics also plays a huge role in how your own brain interprets sounds.
especially since everyone's HRTF is different
🚬
lameeeeee
I like to think of EQ as like a playground
you get to play with the sound that you put into your ears
and its lowkey kind of fun once you understand it
If im paying that amount i prop wouldn't eq too cause it'll be custom made/tuned to be for my ears and only my ears
Ye I don't like EQ unless there's profiles
For earbuds I agree
Sadly not as easily possible for over ears
I hate when I see people buy headphones such as open backs, say they sound thin but then don't EQ them. They need to understand that the thin bass most open backs have is not some creator's intent, it's a compromise of the design. You're not ruining them by EQing them. I'd argue personalised EQ is the final step needed in headphone design and that you should always do it unless it somehow sounds perfect out of the boss or unless it's a huge hassle
They need to understand that the thin bass most open backs have is not some creator's intent
This is easily proven when looking at earbuds since most of them have various levels of bass boost. Most open backs would have it too if it were easy to do
I wanna get the er2xr, I hope it goes down a bit on amazon here, otherwise I'll buy it when I'm traveling
it doesn't include as many tip options as etymotics higher end models though, kinda sucks
Yeh, I meant for earbuds. Headphones I can imagine being more pain in the ass
boom arm holding camera on top of monitor
Make sure the entire thing and little bit of its surrounding is shown. Monitor not in view, crop if needed.
30fps 720p camera should do, 60fps is even better.
Prolly 3d printed, right? oh the ironing, using a lifeless backdrop and describing the mousepad scene as stagnant; prolly intended smh
stagnant? What more do we need really
plot twitst, its actually a foldable mouse that doubles as a mousepad for another mouse
I dunno, I have been using glass mousepads for years, all of them look like brand new, no need to change it 😅
what could they possibly be cooking up
Interesting
Looks like a controller to me
I like this based on the layout alone
It's based on open-source firmware and they provide you CAD files and all necessary stuff to modify it how you want, so if you prefer Xbox layout you can do it like that too
You can also order only PCBs and 3d-print your own case
me waiting for open source ethical ai web 3.0
I'm waiting for AI to be switched off again.
Sadly not happening
@round lagoon that treble peak
Rest in peace
But it's kinda fine to me

It's not straight but the dips is easily fixable with a light eq
Has he said anything about cost?
$359 USD
Hmm, as much as para 2
hall effect joysticks?
im gonna bet you gonna say 'planar stays losing'.
there, a meze empy 2 for the poor

the mearsurement there is a lot better
but seems to be overly bright
I want to make a note, Asus have just let me know that apparently there's a price change from the original $359 down to $299, making this even more compelling.

ooo, okay now it's lower than Para 2
Interesting stuff
I like deadlock game by valve
i agree that game is nice
question now about the kithara is the QC
When yo Mango separating 😳
Who up separating they mango

Bright and no bass
almost how I like it
I wonder if they made it so bright to trick noobies into thinking «wow this is so detailed now I want to buy the more expensive Hifimen!»
I'll be surprised if they're successful at that
I think they will be. This will be the first «audiophile» headphone for many and they will definitely fall for the idea that they are super detailed and that it's driver magic and that if they want better sound they have to buy more and more expensive Hifimen
got edition XS now
actually my favourite hifiman out of the selection I have tried so far
it sounds good
was just 200€ so I thought might as well
worst case I would have returned it but it actualyl sounds decent
Do you EQ it?
actually prefer it EQd
maybe i'll try a different headband on my xs but idk if thats a thing you can just buy
there are a lot of vendors for caprastraps now
not to mention print services
EU one for example
maybe ill try that and if i like it ill see if there's something to replace the whole head strap assembly
the profit margin on this 😭
oh yea it's like 400-500% or something
Is that actually more comfortable than stock?
it cant possibly be worse atleast
have a capra strap on 2 headphones and it is VERY comfy on both
is it just TPU
yes
has to be 95A but yea just TPU
I printed mine from overture TPU
tho my printer hates it
he's got one of the basic bambu ones i think
a1 mini is too small
although
maybe with some weird support structure
but removing tpu support...
no
that headband has VERY specific print parameters
also yea uhh, TPU and supports

seems to be like a cheaper astral
@abstract warren curious to see how you might like this, it's only $50 to try.
Follows suite pretty closely, also nice faceplate
Definitely a truthear hexa obliterator
If I buy new ones it’s gonna be the Monarch MK4s
Only thing that worries me is the sizing
Same with the Valhalla but those are like the HD800s of IEMs for the price point but still
just pick generic TPU 95A
and then copy over the settings from the printables listing
you might have to download it if it wasnt already downloaded during setup
thankfully thats easy enough to do in Bambu Studio
my monitor is at the Ready to Pack status
What monitor oh great migu
Asus oled
Which one
Ooh the tandem
I hope its good, my xg27aqdmg gets crushed blacks when switching to srgb
I mean im not really gonna use it with HDR but i gonna look

Indeed its gonna be my love child
I have to get used to using 2 27” monitors
From what are you coming?
FastIPS 180hz 1440p
Nah I mean what size
27”
Ohh so from 1 27" to 2 27"?
My 2nd monitor right now is 24”
Oh well wont take you long getting used to it
Idk why but i wanna use 3 monitors
24” monitor in pivot mode and stacked 27” monitors
what mice do wooting users have? I hate razer and logi software and would much prefer something web based while keeping good sensor and polling specs
Pulsar X3 CrazyLight
pulsar has decent web software could be a good choice if you find a shape you like
Yes, but so far Pulsar's Bibimbap only supports a limited number of mice. Like the CrazyLight mice.
you also have to have a pretty large window, doesn't scale super well, works good enough though
thanks for the suggestion, currently using a razer basalisk, dont see that shape from pulsar
wlmouse, lamzu
thanks
A bit different in the treble though
I like having them
Beastx max
Has web based app
rip
you should use the HDR mode on these OLEDs
impeccable, esp with Dolby Vision supported content
I scared them from turning on hdr with the video I posted in the other channel
hmm?
my pc runs horrible with anything fullscreen when I turn on hdr in windows
unusable type shi
Windows moment
fr
makes no sense to buy an oled monitor and use it in SDR mode
This tbh
Well…
HDR on the Windows desktop sucks unless you specifically need HDR in an app.
As for games, I’d disable HDR for SDR games.
Consoles and media apps on smart TVs aren’t forcing HDR for everything, no reason to do it on a PC.
I think my Astro's battery is dying at a significant rate. It used to have plenty of battery left even after being on for 10 hours but now if I spend most of my day at my computer it gives me low battery warnings by the time I really want to get off my computer
I remember someone on the server saying he had several units with this issue or had seen others with it
Do you think this is cool or nah
It would make me nauseous and make it hard to focus
Secret lab desk?
Yes
How
Buy the PC mount my dude, it looks so much better than on the desk
The pulsating rainbow lights in a dark room. Yuck. It actually makes me feel ill
Is it really? Damn
Yeah
Yeah have it all set to a static color dude
The lights are static at that
I was just taking a photo
I'd get the computer off the desk. It takes up a lot of space and the mouse has very little space
I also have the lights on when I use it
Read above
Thank God you moved the gpu cable, didn't look amazing with the cable going up above
Too much cable my dude
It’s a 5090
the more pens the tuffer
I just have one refillable pen
It needs cable
I have like 40
Run it so it can be more minimal
No I like it longer
It’s too invisible below
And it also looks bad under
Cuz it’s not visible
The good news is I got a 60 he 2 coming
So all is forgiven?
40 arms
40 pens
1 5090 and 2 sticks of ram
I also would like to defend my strimmer placement
I was gonna get a picture of my pen but it felt quite performative
cheap pens are ass though
What color should I make my pc
Good decision
Yeah that’s what I meant
Just ordered myself a set of moondrop spring tips, if they actually fit well in my ears I will invest more into iems lol
Weird it didn't have me pay state tax, but oh well it's PayPal so worst case I get my money back
Spinfit increased the size of their SS or else I would've got some of those lol
I didn't realize the rog kithara released today, I'm interested to see what people say about it
Priced at 300
It's pretty bright
makes sense tbh, also I thought the treble would be messier ngl
Does it make sense to you because it tricks noobs into thinking it's super detailed so they can buy more expensive Hifimen? That's how I view it
sounds bout right lol
uhh, yeah that sounds about right
but also at the same time that boosting in that frequencies is kind of the norm for 'gaming' headphones ngl
Really? I feel like most gaming headphones have too little treble
If my Astro actually dies or becomes unusable soon I might just bitterly buy a Hifiman XV and use it with my Apple dongle until some fixed version of the Astro or something better releases
Rest in peace
Yes 🪦
Hey! o/
im selling my dt 770 pro x for half the price and i want one best option that I never regret it.
My usage for heaphone prioritize like this:
Listening to music and music production in vocaloid and anime or jpop style, watching anime and gaming
(Also to mention I wear glasses)
hd490 pro. It has 2 pads that changes its sound signature with one of them giving more warmth and soundstage dip, the other makes it sounds like a refined hd560s
also very comfortable (yes, I also wear glasses)
worth noting that they are open back though, in case they want something that blocks sound
oh yeah, forgot 770 are closed
