Rtings have some interesting methods to try to quantify soundstage but as Sean Olive points out they have no listening tests to back up the predictability of their system. And people mean different things a lot when they talk about soundstage in headphones

It makes sense that it comes down to FR ultimately since audio is in the end just sound waves arriving at our eardrums, which the amplitude and phase of can be measured precisely
