My idle temp is much higher than others only because of the fact that my cpu has crazy idle power draw lol
It's not that high
What cpu do you have
A 9800x3d is usually between 15 and 35 watts, mine is 25-50
9950x3d
Mine is over 9000
Mines a overclocked 9800X3D and my temps havenât gone over 70 even
I havent checked my temps since I rebuilt my pc with air cooler
It runs the same as it did with aio so its probably fine
I use a 360 AIO and have a push pull system with a X870e Taichi as well and it stays very cool
My cpu temps only really start to get high when I'm playing arc raiders which is kind of CPU heavy lol
I think them CPUs are picky. Because the first time I installed my 9800x3d temps were abysmal
I have an overclocked undervolted 9800x3d too
I removed the cooler, cleaned it and re pasted the same day and was fine
do you have the windows high performance power plan enabled?
5800x3d dont run too hot so im not worried
Good question, let me check lol
Have you gotten your pc optimized ?
I got a 9950X3D but runs at higher power limits
for the games I played it would have worse performance sadly @obtuse dove
and it usually idles at 10-15W
for me its more than good enough after increasing the power limit and not touching the clocks and voltages
plenty for getting work done too
I meant the 9950x3d over the 9800x3d
Yea so thats quite low no?
we're talking idle temps no? đ€Ł
People define idle differently XD
lower temps mainly
Oh
lower temps at the slight cost of lower clock speeds
and maybe less stability
wdym lower clock speeds?
Dont think its really necessary for me then
Can't you gain actual performance
I heard it could give more stable clock speed across cores
GPUs can get away with it because they work in the megahertz range, not in the gigahertz like cpus
I've been living in bliss since I moved from my 5600x but I do miss my 5600x temps lol
My office gets quite warm when gaming
like a gain or loss in like 100-200 megaherts will matter much less on a cpu than it does on a gpu
simply because of how they scale
ive never had clock speed losses with undervolting
I've 100% had to drop clock speeds to not have it crash
when undervolting cpus
like I said though, its not like a crazy loss in clock speeds
Undervolting makes cpu less hot, so it has more room to boost. Faster cpu!
yeah depends on the gpu you getting but when you get to the 1.5K there is performance for sure its just that i will go performance for now then go for looks later, like my pc still gon look clean but with a simple case no real rgb
sounds like you have the opposite of a good silicon lottery chip
You undervolted too much...
you're also giving it less power so it might be less stable trying to boost higher with a limited power budget
Yeah ngl sounds like or you dont know what your CPUs limits are
or you have a complete dogwater cpu silicon
I never tried undervolting after a 14900K so maybe LMAO
undervolt I tried was Adaptive voltage mode at -0.15V
crashes after like 2-3 hours in OCCT
this was on multiple 14900Ks btw
and 2 separate motherboards
the 100% failure rate chip
oh yeah, its bad, 3 died on me in the 13 months I had 14900K in my system
ever since I switched to 9950X3D I never got any CPU issues ever again
Yeah I have a 14900k in my other system, I ain't touching that lol
mine was an eariler 14900K, so like, maybe the newer ones fixed the issues that they used to have
No clue, all I can say is they run super hot for some reason
Still, hitting 80C on arc raiders was only a bit scary
Tj Max of 14900K is 100C so 20C core distance away from Tj Max is still ok
90C is when I would start getting worried
I could not trust that damn cpu lmaoo
It's strictly the Minecraft cpu for my little brother now lmaoo
real lmao
Modded Minecraft is very cpu heavy
Unless you use C^2ME
Which basically makes the whole process of chunk and world generation and loading to the GPU rather than the CPU
It alleviates so much cpu load
Yeah, honestly as long as your use real optimized packs like atm 10 you're chilling
Never used it. Sounds to good to be true
It really works, and it works well!
You should give it a try!
What a good mouse you guys recommend for like 130 or under, lightweight preferably.
X2 Crazylight
Okay thank you so much
Scyrox V6/V8. Probably the best bang for your money if we're riding off YT reviews, but whether it agrees with your hand is another story
Okay thank you

Do you know if they're doing new superlight 2c mod kit ? @plain schooner
I don't

just to be limited by windows HDR anyways
Funny how in big '26 Linux has better HDR implementation than Windows
Well, Plasma at least, let GNOME eat glue in the corner
Plasma!đ
Plasma, always beta
I've been using KDE since 2002. What's supposed to be beta about it?
Consult the meme
Since 6.0 release it crashed on me exactly once, because of KDE Connect bug, which has been fixed since
Have you tried it?
Both get wrekt by pretty much any streamer box, but windows is certainly closer
Yeah, whatever Windows 11 was in August during BF6 Open Beta when I had it on PC and Plasma 6.5
At least in CBP2077
That's an odd way to shorten Cyberpunk 2077
We all know it's CP2077
Or if you're feeling really brave...
cp77
Yeah, since AI filters are getting quite common I'd rather go with CBP version
The day I get banned from Discord for calling it CP2077 is the day that I'm very thankful that I've been freed from this platform
Buy some cod points and youll be banned
Deserved for playing Call of Duty
Note to self: look at fixing the system freeze / crash when I connect a monitor.
I can tell you plasma 6 still has it's share of crashes
No crashes here with Plasma6 since years.
I have just used wonkey setups where there be dragons sometimes.
gpu + igp multi monitor, refresh rates, disconnecting monitors, reconnect with a different resolution (testing dual mode)
portrait
weird
maybe it doesnt like multi-GPU setups
I wonder if its a display driver thing
I mean I don't get crashes super often but I definitely noticed cases. It's just a lot of edge cases where things may go wrong, still perfectly usable.
this portable monitor crashed when I disabled some monitors then connected it, I think it may just be a broken screen layout fixed if I delete the file with those.
yeah, those edge cases make me a little icky to switch
Not like windows doesn't have it's own brokenness though.
For example the monitor layout on a mixed dpi setup makes no sense.
Why does a 4k screen have to appear bigger in the layout when they are both 27 inch, and the 4k one has 150% scaling thus functionally the same size.
But no windows ignores scaling for the layout here.
In general though it works fine and crashes sometimes just happen, part of using a pc. I certainly encountered issues back on windows too.
I've tried quite a few things under Linux. I'm currently testing the plasma login manager as a replacement for sddm. I've tried Gnome, XFCE, Deepin, Enlightenment, and LXQT, but I always come back to KDE Plasma.
crashes is something I want to avoid as much as possible
and it if happens more often on Plasma 6, I wont switch
And I can't even imagine using Windows anymore. I'm completely done with it. I've always preferred something other than Microsoft products anyway. I used OS/2 Warp as my operating system for seven years.
After that, I switched to Linux.
I will never be able to switch away from windows ever, all the apps that I work with to get work done relies on Windows
gaming laptop I was tempted, but the whole Nvidia optimus thing not quite working perfectly on Plasma 6 is a bit of an issue
Well, if you need programs for work, it becomes difficult.
extremely
some just dont work entirely
Generally an old ssd or similar would be a way to find out, trying it out is the best way to get used, see if things break.
i do thinking about getting another sata SSD for linux stuff
Personally still have old ones laying around, like a 256gb one and a 120gb one, those are enough for a linux install play around use it for normal use.
How I started on my desktop at least 120gb ssd tried to have an environment not distracted by games. until I got a bigger ssd and switched full time.
i mean i do have storage for games
You do, on your windows partition, and 256gb enough to fit one or a couple in.
and overall i just want another set of SSD for games and maybe 1 more sata SSD for storage
as i wanna change my old HDD out finally
Those are fair points too, should still reinstall my server to get rid of it's hdd's (just have not gotten around to but bought the ssd's knowing the prices were going up at some point)
yeah but im not gonna spend 700$ on SSD's
My plan is to ditch raid in favor of extra backups but fair enough yea.
Good luck finding a sata ssd
if anyone is into topre, got my ursa set in
I had a HHKB many moons ago. Then some alps thing that sucked.
looks good, hard to find anything for topre these days
you should check out tecsee tec hall effect switches, they feel very close to topre, but work in he boards

They are all almost identical
their signature tuning you can say
flat like a loli's chest
The difference between them is similar to just having unit variance lol
Planar magnetic?
From googling, Simgot EA2000 has the same kind of driver and it's called passive radiator
my topre board has rapid trigger !
Man wtf is going on with gpu market now. All the 4070ti are disappearing from stock now in Korea
People started stocking up on gpu suddenly and I guess most realised the 50 series is barely an upgrade over 4070ti
but soon all the 40 series cards will be gone since they stopped making them iirc so wonât have any choice but to buy 50 series
realforce gx1?
yeh
sweet, seems like a nice board, i got the r3sd11 and my only complaint is the non-interchangeable cable
yeah not able the change the cable on the gx1 either, nice that the sliders are mx keycap compatible though
that's nice, are there any 3rd party cases?
nope, and the stock one is a bit ugly with the floating key design
rip
Supposed amd and nvidia reported that they'd be increasing GPU prices in January due to rising production prices, not sure how true that is and if that may be why
yeah seems like a mad rush to suddenly buy any gpu upgrades you need
i'd be tempted if the 50 series wasn't such a poor upgrade from 40 series
Oh yeah, I never would have upgraded from my 4070 super if I didn't build a new system lol
I have a 5070 ti for that reason
bought it a month before they announced it. Upgrading from 3080. Not a huge upgrade but its better than nothing. The pc market just going to shit
It's becoming a luxury
It wasn't a luxury?
I mean it always has, but ever since the whole crypto boom it's easily quadrupled in price to build a PC if not more
Price rises were happening to some components before then, especially GPUs.
Although it's funny that despite a decade of inflation etc, some people still think anything above $300 USD for a GPU is overpriced.
people used to the early covid prices still before it went crazy
i remember building a $1800 pc then and it was really nicely specced with equivalent of a 9800x3d and 4070 now
then covid and crypto made everything go nuts and every year or two we get hit with new random thing like AI it seems lol
Steve from GN will probably wake up in a cold sweat but the DIY PC market isn't exactly large enough to deserve the pricing it thinks it deserves.
My hot take on PC hardware pricing, especially GPUs.

The consumer GeForce and Radeon cards went from being completely useless outside of gaming to now overlapping with budget workstation cards at the high end.
Wouldn't say this is a unique trend to PC GPUs that typically gamers buy either. The hardware and software that companies ship across their entire product line up has slowly been converging. Apple use the same chips from their smartwatch all the way up to their high-end desktops for heavy video production. The three remaining console companies have gone from bespoke hardware to semi-custom SoCs that largely just track with desktop hardware.

đ let me check that
would anyone reccomend the turthear x crinacle zero iems for siege pairing with 60he v2 and superlight 2 with pro sleeve
?
i use zero:reds daily not just for siege and i do love them
Yesh, it's a nicely tuned IEM.
great ty for the recomendation this will be my first steo into iems
do i get this monitor
what do you plan to use your pc or play ?
Also EUV machines are expensive which the cost was passed down to consumers
And now high NA EUV machines are going to make chips even more expensive really soon
Like the ASML Twinscan NXE EUV machines costed 190-230 million dollars, the Twinscan High NA EXE EUV machines cost 500 million dollars
And who is going to be eating that cost? Customers of those chips!
fps and the odd story game or ac
Cool! Just connect it and plug in headphones. It's that easy. Make sure the volume is turned all the way down by the way
On windows?
And then turn up the volume through the fax
Dac
No opposite
Turn the amplifier all the way down (to the left), set Windows to 100
I was thinking of getting that one or the fosi zh3
The SMSL is more powerful but depending on what you are listening to it won't matter at all. The choice will really just come down to price and design/feel
Yeah, I think the zh3 is a bit more situated for a desk setting, bit more compact
Eliminates static and generally cleans up audio you may hear from plugging a iem or pair of headphones directly into the mobo
Can I also turn my headphones louder
Converts digital to analogue. Then the amplifier amplifies that analogue signal into listenable levels
And what a good dac and amplifier does is do this without any audible changes to the original signal. No noise, no distortion, no frequency response issues
The one you bought does this
This is not a problem at all by the way. That's why it's considered a «solved issue». Most dacs and amplifiers I see do this without any audible artefacts
Even shittier technology like R2R typically do it well enough for people to be very unlikely to tell the difference unless they are doing something silly like NOS
Awesome
The one problem I was having was that my headphones couldnât get turned up without becoming really quite
Cause they would go over level
I love the ones u recommended tho they sound so good so I can only imagine with the dac
What do you mean with the dac? It has a dac built-in
I meant the amp*
Who uses R2R anymore lmao, Delta Sigma is so much better
I haven't seen R2R in the wild
Only in textbooks LOL
I see many audiophiles buy it now because they fall for memes like it being more «analogue sounding» or «warmer» etc.
And many companies like FiiO are now making dacs with that technology
Somehow R2R has returned
That's so so dumbbbbbb, my EE professor will probably slap me across the face if I said using R2R is a good idea
I see people on r/headphones say R2R with NOS is «more analogue sounding» which makes absolutely zero sense to me
I wish I understood this much about sound
đ
Prob one of my more lacking knowledge
This is very much EE territory lmao,
All you need to know is that if you are happy with your current setup - you've won
I kept seeing rave reviews about the FiiO K13 R2R and how much more musical it supposedly sounds compared to solid state DACs
«Musical» is probably the dumbest descriptor out there
Ah yes, my music sounds musical, height of sophistication
Lmao oh god
It's not special, it's objectively shit compared to Delta Sigma
There's an unfortunate trend among audiphiles where old outdated technology has a resurgence and is viewed as the better or more «musical» alternative
Vacuum tubes

Vinyl, valves, R2R etc.
But of course vinyl is better quality than FLACs, I ripped it to 24/96 so of course it sounds better
I have heard very good vinyl rips by PBTHAL etc. but ultimately CD or any other digital version just sounds higher fidelity to me assuming same master
See if you were in a clean room then maybe, just maybe, it is better, but vinyl will pick up on every single piece of dust and dirt on vinyl
Yeah the maintenance etc. makes it horrible
Even if vinyl actually had superior sound quality I wouldn't bother
It's so inconvenient
Vinyl also suffers from «unit variation» where some pressings have more pops etc.
Electrical engineering?
Yeah
Iâm considering ece rn
I was thinking of getting a vinyl or two while I was at tower records, not to listen to but it would be kind of neat to display, but I didn't end up getting any
Not bad! If you're into those kinds of things I don't see why not! I will say though the math workload is a lot for any engineering degree.
got a bunch of cds and I don't listen to them either
Nothing wrong with buying vinyl records. They look cool and are a much better way to support the artist
With vinyl is that it crushes stereo sound into vertical and horizontal wobble separating channels by 45°, so you will lose a bit of quality regardless
But yeah, it doesn't matter since maintenance is a pain
Grew up around electrical work
But just don't be convinced by someone that the format is higher fidelity
How good will you say you are at math?
If you say that đ=Ï=3 then you are good fit for an engineer
The other problem with vinyl is that you actually have to spend a bit to get peak performance out of vinyl records since gear matters far more here than elsewhere. And in the end you are essentially just trying and failing to get the quality up to CD standards
Yeah a lot of things are approximated to whole numbers, it only gets hard when you work with really tiny values
Iâm decent I lack a little bit because I left hs early to go to college a semester early so I wasnât able to progress too far in calc
If you are willing to learn more math, you will be just fine in engineering school!
I love math
Itâs my favorite
I canât stand writing tho
Them essays are so ass
I think most people could tell that those non oversampled waves aren't very accurate sine waves though đ
I'd go ECE in this job market LMAO
Only problem is Iâm also an athlete
I'm doing MechE
That's fine, just don't fall behind
To solve calculus you:
- read the problem
- go to https://www.symbolab.com/solver/integral-calculator
- paste the problem there
- get the answer and move on with your life
That website carried my advanced algebra
Until you have to do an exam
Then you're screwed
I think Iâll be straight cause I took a harder comp sci clsss and made an A while in season

Two first years I passed half of the classes with "help" written on several parts of my body
Nice nice
EE is so interesting tho
It is, I don't take as many EE classes since I am a MechE major, but I do like the EE classes that I do have to take
planning on getting a new one soon?
if you want endgame and cloth artisan is the easy recommendation
their whole range is very high quality
Artisan for cloth, Wallhack for glass
I have an Artisan mousepad and it's excellent
It sticks to the desk very well, is still in peak condition and feels very high quality
No I don't know which I have
it says in the corner đ„
Can only confirm, i have a Key 83 and it's very high quality and been a blessing
I asked for a artisan for Christmas but they lowk couldnât figure out the Chinese like paying system
đ
It says Ninja FX
their website isnât hard to use at all đ
If you click global itâll show everything in english
shipping is expensive but I wouldnât say itâs difficult at all
I think that means you have stitched edges
Pretty nice
Mine have a logo and one or a few Japanese characters too
Try again, their website looks to be recently updated. Their old site was pretty archaic but it looks good now
I think I have the Hatsune one or whatever it's called
thatâs not how itâs written on the pad though
Except for some
my zero doesnât have any katakana on it
I like my hien but itâs very textured, zero soft is usually a safe recommendation if you donât know exactly what youâre looking for
Hated Hien, love Raiden
I havenât used a raiden but hien peak
Yes
If you want something speedy/very rough then probably otsu, Key83/zero are safe/versatile options that will feel good in whatever fps/title you put em in
Iâd try raiden first before going to glass imo
Depending on what youâre already running
I have three glass pads and I still use an artisan đŽ just my opinion doe
Running that glorious mouse pad 3xL
đđđ
Yea try Raiden first
Even going from raiden to kazemi felt like a different universe in terms of speed
Raiden
Idk if I should do glass or normal cop Rh
Cloth
Is there a better one
Of the two
Probably cloth for overall versatility, with glass imagine youâre on a marble hockey rink with no stops
Glass is completely alien to your usual cloth experience, even on the faster ends of cloth
Youâre going to need multiple weeks or even months to get up to speed on glass so to speak and will require relearning
Is it even worth it
You can make both work, but going to glass off rip I wouldnât advise
If Iâm like a flick heavy type guy
Would I get the Croft
Xsoft
I like glass thatâs just me tho
What makes it so good
Have the wallhack sp004 prob going to upgrade to the sp005 or va005
I just like the feel
I havent tried XS, but no real reason to since you can just get soft if you want and then factor in slower skates if thats what you want
from Mid to Soft is like 1mm more all around which is noticeable, XS would be even more
Gonna try out glass in january/february, just to see how it is finally.
Although mostly positive i'll stay on Artisan after.
@quasi field bro ever since u got me to eq the hd560s I eq every headphone I get
i never realized how much of a difference it is
It's almost essential imo if you are serious about high fidelity
If it's essential or not really depends on the headphones
im not on my normal setup atm so im using my old pc37x at home
i wanted to test the eq
i might also use my amp to see if i can hear a difference
Elgatos xlr dock needs to restock already so I can do a xlr setup lol
Tell me about it
I got the stream deck+ and tried to buy the xlr dock and nope back orderedâŠ.
Itâs okay tho I canât even use the stream deck w my ps5
i lowk wanna get a glasspad from glsswrks
or howeevr you spell their name
Why do you have one lmaooo
ngl, the Truthear Pure looks temptinggggggggg
What are good fast mousepads that arent that expensive?
The dashed are only part of the suspicion. The way he writes is also very ChatGPT-like
«You're right, (the thing you said but restated) is correct.»
Yes. Yes. And yes
erm, wat
I dont think ive ever seen such ragebait LMAO
i don't know why he's targeting fps and motion clarity separately
well i mean i know why, because it makes for better youtube title and topic, but no one buying a monitor is saying 'ah great it's about fps number going higher only, i don't care about the motion clarity gain'
I haven't seen the video but since he mentions it talks about the «Critical Flicker Fusion (threshold)» I don't want to
It's always brought up by people that don't know MPRT
entire thing is honestly a good example of why doing a Veritasium video is harder than it may seem. Everything from the science and theory behind it, to how you present it and simplify the problem into a way people care about while making video digestible is hard
he just threw up a topic, made science about an argument that isn't really what people care about and then spammed it everywhere
all while lacking the editing to make the initial topic interesting in the first place
Probably had AI make half of it
Uses AI on his replies, 2 of em exactly have the same sentence structure. I can't really trust somebody who doesn't even make their own sentence.
or just, any science video made for a more general audience.
the entire premise is dumb to begin with since he's saying fps doesn't matter, but only if we talk about fps outside of the motion clarity effects lol
whole thing is just trying super hard to make something sciency and into an argument no one is making or caring about lol
The Blurbusters blind test cannot come any sooner so these videos have less reason to exist
your eye definitely tracks the increased clarity too, as I can now notice the mouse movement on 540hz vs. my old monitor where it was blurry during a flick
the irony is if he just made a general video blind testing hz it would have done better because it actually tests what people care about
yeah, like maybe an ABX blind test
it's why the linus tech tips video did so well
which one?
they did that test with shroud ages ago
got 10 million views
the problem is this guy is trying to link his testing to a random idea of 'oh for 99% of non competitive gamers it won't matter' - which is a dumb subjective argument
it's like people who try to say rapid trigger doesn't matter if you don't focus on mechanics first
I found that video bad when I watched it
Can't tell you why right now since I don't remember it. I just remember finding it poorly done
probably wasn't done as well as it could be. A lot of their testing is like that
the point is more that the topic and theory behind the video topic matters
the guys just trying to go viral on youtube clearly from his youtube channel and what he's doing, but he's starting from the wrong point
that video idea from linus will always do well regardless of how well/not well the testing is done because the topic and theory tested behind it is super interesting

now they just need that with 500hz woled
at 1440p
Wait a few years for 500hz 4k
too hard to run. I think 5k 240-280 with option to go to 1440p 500hz would be neater
then you have your work editing resolution and 500hz gaming option in one

I think I'd like to go WOLED IF LG DIDN'T MAKE THEIR MONITORS FRIGGIN 800R
ah i don't buy ultrawides anyway so doesn't impact me lol
LG's 800R annoys me
Sander loves his ultrawides though, but itâs only normal 27â flat for me
Yo guys
So i got the sennheiser momentum 4s and its supports 24bit 96khz but i dont get that option on pc. Its set to 16bit 44khz any idea if possible to increase it to what my headphones support?
In hardware my motherboard is gigabyte aorus X670E Pro X and amd 7950x3D
something to do with usb limited to 48khz https://www.reddit.com/r/sennheiser/comments/16g6iv7/cant_set_senheiser_momentum_4s_to_24_bit_quality/
Its bluetooth headphones so i dont think usb plays a role unless they do?
Wait lemme check
Doesn't answer the question really but okay
i couldn't tell you what USB standard they're using.
not all headphones support that over USB
Why do you need this
Nvm
I just remembered your past
Someone knows any cheap alternatives to a SecretLab Magnus Pro?
With a similar hidden Cable Management
Just get any desk and you can buy under table cable management to add to it pretty easily
Long as you pick a nice thick tabletop itâs easy to grab tons of options
well i mean for the price you pay for that you can probably pay a friend to install it for you if you're worried
heck, if you wanted magnetic there's those linus tech tips magnetic cable management options
and if you install it yourself you can make sure no magnets near keyboard area
leetdesk pro maybe
I'm looking at desks atm, and I'm eyeing the flexispot desk 4 legged ones https://flexispot.co.uk/4-leg-height-adjustable-standing-desk-E2Q.html
Flexispot-4-Leg standing desk E2Q,the ultimate ergonomic solution to energise your workspace and increase productivity. up to 10 year warranty,Hassle-free 60-day returns!
yeah the 4 leg ones look pretty nice
much more stable than the other 2 t shaped leg designs
You're not losing out on anything by not using 24 bit 96 kHz. 16 bit is enough dynamic range for realistic listening scenarios and higher than 44,1 kHz sampling rate will not make any audible difference assuming the filter isn't terrible
Exactly my thoughts as well. And no gamer tax :p
if flexispot the e7 pro is nice
True. This is what I will upgrade to
I'm not set on flexispot.. But it's one of the better ones I've found available in NL
can they auto balance if the floor is not perfectly straight
Tue but im tryng to get my headphones to function at its given specs so thats why i want to understand if its normal or my pc something needs to be enabled
Uhh don't know. Doubt it. 2 of the 3 versions only have 2 motors
Are you using it wirelessly?
Yup
Just bluetooth or is there a dongle?
Just bluetooth no dongle
I don't know why it doesn't work then. Can you set it to 48 kHz? Is that an option?
Yup
Just do that and forget the 96 kHz nonsense
It lets me go till dvd quality but not higher
The part is not about forgetting if im paying for it i might aswell use it at its highest potential
Im looking for an answer not dismissal
It makes no difference though
Probably not but i get satisfaction that its working at its best
Dolby Vision
Actually, does hifiman even made a good closed back? Iirc their recent closed back release FR are quite terrible.
Mmm, makes me even more worried about their upcoming headphone with Asus
They are all bad yes
It has a good DosplayPort
It might be good if it's wireless since it might have DSP. And it's not known if it's open- or closed-back yet (unless new info came out in the past hours I'm unaware of)
We'll see in 2 days
Why did monitor need proximity sensor
Please don't fuck up the DSP
it's actually one of best parts lol
i love the proximity sensor on mine
but what for
auto turns off oled when you walk away without turning off whole computer or going to sleep mode
then it auto turns on again without waiting when you sit down again
Whatâs even the link to this thing I just see DM
Seeing that they are working with Hifiman does not fill me with confidence since I think of large bright mediocrely-built resonant headphones when I think of Hifiman. But this might be a departure from that similarly to how the Audeze Maxwell is the only Audeze headphone with a good tuning
But OS can do just that for years now?
You just come back, move mouse and it's back up and running
Is there a benefit to using proximity sensor instead
os has a delay
I guess audiophile companies teaming up with mainstream brands will be a thing from now on. Hifiman x Asus, Audeze x Sony (though Sony did buy Audeze)
Nice nice.

Quite cool feature then it seems
I mean, assuming they can reduce the spike with DSP, you can kinda just eq the brightness down
My problem with the Hifiman headphones I owned was that the EQ results were never satisfactory
It seemed to have really uneven spiky upper treble that you can only really EQ down using wide-band filters since the location of the spike changes very easily based on how you wear the headphones
But doing imprecise wide-band adjustments like that hurt overall tonality since you are then also reducing frequencies that you might not want reduced
So I have always sold mine unhappy with the product
RIP
We'll see, since it's a colab from Asus, I could prop demo it at my local tech store without having to fly.
In the vague preview video the shape of the cups seem round and not egg-shaped
Sony hasnât really used Audeze as icy as I thought they would.
Theyâve got two mid-range PlayStation headsets using the planar magnetic drivers and thatâs it.
Didnât even rebadge the Maxwell with a premium PlayStation SKU
Using planars is their disadvantage imo and why I don't care much for Sony acquiring Adeez. Imagine if the maxwell had a similar tuning but a lighter and smaller dynamic driver with the headset being under 400 grams at least as a result. Would be so much more attractive
Arenât the Maxwell still regarded as one of the best gaming headphones?
The fact that they bought Audeze of all companies and Asus teaming with Hifiman seems to just capitalise on people believing transducers have inherent sound qualities
Yes because it has a good tuning, unlike basically every other Audeze headphone
The tuning is fairly similar to Harman 2018 so the popularity is not surprising. Follow the research into what people like = people like it
But people will of course misattribute it to the driver technology!!!
The problems people have with the Audeze are weight, QC, microphone and sidetone related. Never see complaints about the sound
Oh and it has loud annoying pops every now and then. The implementation of the transducer is not the best
Just another reason why I wish they wouldn't use planar magnetics
My unit produced a constant crackling noise when sidetone is on and apparently all of them do that so that feature seems borderline useless
The microphone sounds really shoddy. Lots of room for improvement there
will the res be blurry if you put it on 2k?
Depends on if you mean 1920 x 1080 or 2560 x 1440
2560x1440
2560 x 1440 will have scaling issued yes
aww imo 2560 is the sweet spot
Get a 5k (5120 x 2880) monitor. It scales with 1440p
If a game runs poorly enough that you want to lower the resolution from 4k, it is probably modern enough to support upscaling anyway
It doesn't exist yet
the struggle of a 2k enjoyer
1080p?
2k is 1920 x 1080
Why the ones with sub are cheaper than the ones without?
economy of scale, the bigger the object the cheaper it is
Some bulk sale maybe?
no thats 1080p
i love my 1.2k monitor
I dunno, the only difference is that the 2.0 have bluetooth, and these have sub
Still, 30 bucks
1280x720?
yes
even tho its not right but for me 2k is always gonna be 2560x1440
1080p is gonna be 1920x1080
2k price point?
2K is a stupid designation and should not be used
yeah
1920 x 1080 = 2k
3840 x 2160 = 4k
5120 x 2880 = 5k
it is 1080p
No no no
Like the normal
You take horizontal, not vertical
are these good specs?
Overpriced CPU
2K DCI is 2048x1080, cropped down to 16:9 2K is 1920x1080
jesus 3.4k for a 5070 ti?!
Rather get a cheaper CPU and put more money into GPU
mhm thx
Whats DCI?
what would you recommend for a prebuilt
Also not good for gaming CPU
Either 9800 or 9950
9900 has 6-core CCU, 9800 and 9950 have 8-core CCUs
Laptop
a 9800x3d is fine
The 4 in 4k refers to 3840, not 2160. So for 1920 x 1080 the 2k refers to 1920
ppl gonna referr to 2k with 1440p all the time soo
You split both dimensions of 4k in half, you get 1920x1080, so 2k
You split both dimensions of 5k in half, you get 2560x1440, so 2.5k
Ive always that 1440p is 2k
It does just not that intuitive. These are 16:9 resolutions instead of 17:9 so horizontal pixel count is slightly lower
Your onto something
That's just marketing nonsense that sadly caught on
It doesn't hold up to scrutiny
thats 1.3k
kill me
WSVGA aka Widescreen PAL - 1024x576
I'm not aware of that being a term
Same
Noooooooo
This is a lie
Its all just a bad dream
Exactly
If I were a big reviewer I would call 1920 x 1080 2k in hopes of overturning the idea that 2560 x 1440 is 2k
that would take too much effort
Brain still not braining
It would cause hundreds of comments with people saying «I thought 2k is 1440p?» and I would make sure I respond to every single one (with a copypasta of course)
Copypasta is indeed tasty
either that or they would just don't care about it and still call 1440p 2k
Banned from commenting then
Woooo
Why did 1440p become 2k in the first place anyways
As usual - because marketing people
Isnt it cuz total pixels are double of 1080p?
even if u its true for some reason that 2k is 1920x1080 everyone just gonna stick with FullHD anyway
Why
Who hiring these people for markting in the first place
Because someone probably thought it means nothing beyond sounding like a middle point between 1080p and 4k. 2k (2000) is a larger number than 1080 and smaller than 4k (4000). I think that's what the person (and many others still) thought/think and how it caught on
Even BenQ is calling it 2k sadly
BenQ is holding on to TN still
sounds like a good way to rage bait on reddit
it just got stuck from the early reviews
the thing is he would be banned first from that reddit sub
when 5k1440p dual mode oled
If 4k is actually more than 4k
Then what is 8k really
Is 8k 10k?
10k price it is
4k is 3840x2160
Im bad at maths
8k is this
Comes from 4K DCI in cinemas - 4096x2160
Crop to 16:9 and you get 3840
480p bestest, you cant see more than that
Why is 8k in 32inch

Same with 8K - 8K FF in cinemas is 8192x4320
Crop to 16:9 - you get 7680
Why we cropping all to 16:9
when 16:10
Lets go above and beyond lets make it 32:18
bc 16:9 became the norm with 720p
sounds like 16:9 with extra steps..
Indeed

3:2 is best for productivity
We need to get back to 4:3
I like my screens square bruv
4:4 we should go
But isnt that 1:1
32k 32:25: 32768Ă25600 32â¶25
Give me 8:5 monitors again please
16:10 is great
I like it on Deck - you have space for 16:9 game and mangohud on top
looks like a TV
Too high up
Is technically a display
Im just short
Pebbles 2.1 with woofer or T100s?
It's all confusing
I dunno which speakers for PC to pick under like a hundo
Your phone set to max volume
Can't connect that to PC
My HUD
Just turn your headphones up all the way
tbh another product from logikek that im okay with
Logitech makes good speakers?
Right now I have this piece of junk as a speaker, but it interferes and when it's plugged in all the time to PC via USB to charge it starts to play random radio stations
this was our family speaker set
before that one
Imagine your sleeping at night and suddenly it starts playing
I have to plug it to charge, but when it's fully charged then it's starts to play radio, then I unplug it and battery holds like 30 minutes, then I have to plug it back in and uh...
Maybe maybe not
They make some of the best headsets at least
idk i hate logi's headsets, mice and keyboards xd
G502 is decent in comfort wise
I got big hands so again it could just be preference tho
Great for office
Not so much for gaming
Astro A50 (Gen 5)
I guess yea gaming wise you dont want much weight which makes sense
Both my keyboard and mouse happens to be Logitech
TRAITOR
i hate ghub
where your Wooting
What did ghub do to you
Don't like it either
Wooting makes mice?
its a shit program that crashed all the time when i had their wheels
I cancelled my order before it arrived (still got the role though)
Wheels idk much but mice wise i dont got a problem till now
Also what all sims you play?
for me neither of their mouse is uncomfy to hold
Synapse beats everything
Installing Windows 11
It's on the "we doin important stuff"
Synapse pops up on top of everything
Makes sense some like the shape some dont
They really need to make Synapse a browser thing...
Ive tried the razer viper v2 even that shape feels off for my hands
im an EGG enjoyer
Thankfully I didn't have to configure anything in Synapse
No RGB on Deathadder
Egg? What
Endgame Gear OP1 mouse
I found the OP1 uncomfortable
Might go for it if this chonky g502 ever dies
me with all logikek mouse
i had a wheel
Oh did you mean scroll wheel?
reading
I have G29
mate NO
How are you reading with a wheel-
What are you on then whaaaaa
for the price of a g29 you can get a moza r3
And you dont play any sim games?
Blasphemy
i don't
Not that you sold it but that you didnt get a moza
g29 is complete ass and i wish i could return it
Or thrustmaster
im not gonna spend money on a wheel that i don't use
Ill buy it for 30dollars
moza wasnt a thing yet
Jk i wouldnt curse myself with that
Sad
i really only use the wheel for 3 games
Ets?
ac, forza motorsport, and f1
Interestin
my hours in Assetto
tho since motorsport is EOSâd ig 2 games
Forza Horizon 4 with force feedback set on max and old Corolla wheel bolted to G29 hits different

im soo happy that i own the game
its really the only competition gt7 has and its not on pc
I just use my friends acc for it
gimmie
You should try gt7 or ac competizone
i feel like blowing up my pc with beamng, ultra crash realism
im pretty much a controller player when it comes to Racing games
Iracing is up there but idk how good it is
PG Games can go suck a lemon for not letting us migrate saves from MS Store to Steam
ive been thinking about getting ACC but im not really that competitive
i mostly drive for the fun of it
Just slam people
yeah that was an ASS move from MS
Ive done it
You gotta be rich like professional driver to afford subscription and cars in iRacing
i dont do that either
id like to finish a race
I see
$7 a car btw
Itâs not really expensive
You just have an odd price curve of needing to buy most content after you get out of rookies
Id buy a car for 7$
Itâs cheap once you commit long term
The subscription fee gatekeeps most assholes out as well
Which is handy

Its basically a netflix and spotify subscription
when hating is no longer free
Competitive hating
Tho i do wanna try out ac evo
They got a rally mode in there too but ive heard its not that good
Tho improving

they shouldnt have made AC:E and AC:R seperate games but it is what it is
I agree
we should just play terraria
But less money out my pocket so i cant complain
Wawae? How many of these Assetto Corsas have been released already?
Sushi cat
2 new ones
4? total
2?
Ah yea that exists i forgot
AC, AC:C, AC:E, AC:R
Who even plays that anymore đ„
AC:R is in evo no?
Or they launched it separate?
Oh shit its separate
ac vanilla, ac comp, ac evo, ac rally
tbh the 5k ROG display is still interesting but i wish it isn't FastIPS
Wish it were oled instead?
yeah
Once you go oled there is no looking back
@proper vector
People that have oled are just black enjoyers ( i mean the backlighting)
There is however a going forward to better technologies soon
Yessirr
Rally
Last time I played rally game was Colin McRae Rally 04
I wonder how lcd displays taste
my last "rally" game was Dirt 4
Interestin
Mine was dirt rally
I tried DiRT Rally before EA killed it
On friend acc
Was alright
Oh wait, I played Dirt 3, but I think everyone and their mother has Dirt 3 in their Steam libraries
broken mirror on the 400r
Ah yea the 2.0 ive played
still my favorite Dirt game
all of that game can be played on a controller
Gymkhana stuff was peak
Not wrong
i don't see a reason to get a wheel for those games
- i don't really enjoyed using a wheel
its just not my playstyle
I miss iRacing special events
Force feedback would be my go to answer but since its not circuit racing i guess it doesnt matter much
Controller is better playstyle i see
More affordable to break too
im still using my PS5 controller that i bought in 2023
I want the new Steam controller
its always on my desk LOL
It was on mine too and then suddenly its not there
From then on ive not seen its face
đ„
I'm still using my old steam controller for racing games
Exactly
WHO NAMED THEIR CHILD BOYLE
Boy legacy
đ„
@proper vector what does this mean
It's a last name
Gas molecules go boink and push each other away in specific patterns ? đ
The typical random pattern a molecule of gas takes when pushing against its neighbors
Why
PV = nRT and carry on
You can say the molecule has no rizz, so the other molecules run away. So the molecule chases after them
Okay
Is this part of high school curriculum?
I never had anything remotely similar
Iâm sending you to the PV and FV chamber, we need to appease the shareholders
I wonder why molecules like to move so much
The warmer it is the faster they move
Heat move fast
What if we freeze them
Then they go slower
When do they stop
When it's absolute zero
That's why -273.15C is the lowest possible temperature - particles just don't move
Defrosting?
Indeed
Then if they defrost that means that they are gaining heat
Thus they will move again
Ayo, Kelvin

Something dont seem right
I assume the brother was named after the father
Then it'd say James Sr. and James Jr.
Br.James probably
That's if he was a priest
i might just gonna get a 3rd gen OLED and not care about it
What did the poor oled do
nothing
You have to care about it
Why must you make it suffer
i just don't gonna care about the newer stuff
im just gonna get the 360hz ASUS OLED
Why not that 280hz tandem one
that one seems the nicest of the not insane priced ones
Insane
sure its a good one for 660 euro
That one should be real soon, since it was announced together with 540hz one and 540hz one is already out in some regions
i don't have a good enough PC to get 540FPS in games
Yeah I mean more the 280hz one should be coming same timeline as the one out now
in siege i have like 300-360fps
CS2 i have 300fps stable
So I assume 280hz tandem woled is coming really really soon
i mean i can pre-order the 280hz tandem one
I think itâs supposed to come this month-ish for release date in most places
Although itâs already been released in small quantities in some of EU iirc
like i said i can just pre-order it and wait for it to get it shipped
Donât want that over the last gen stuff?
feels like itâs nicer than the 3rd gen stuff unless you donât care about the glossy black coating I guess
But a Q Oled colours are better no?
they usually have more saturated colors yes
but that might be changing with 4th gen WOLEDs
Let's see, but I can't understand what they bring new tbh. Should be 0 latency lol
Just more bright ?
4th gen WOLEDs are both brighter and have better color volume
peak first world problem but it annoys me a little when the active area on my oled moves
I see
@proper vector
I wanted to get the diva psp or psvita but they are quite expensive second hand(not shocked)
is that why they made those colored psp
i borged mine
so i had to shell swap
only 600bucks
plus import
I was gonna look for just a regular vita in any color while I was in Japan but I kinda forgor
Jellyfin box/HTPC
sell it and give ur friend 5% of what it sells for
2nd gpu for lossless scaling
Whatâs it worth
Not familiar with this GPU
