I built this PC in April of this year. At the time, I thought about building another one for my wife or to put in the living room, but with the recent prices, I no longer feel like building another one. I built my first PC before I started college, and at that time I didn't have a stable job. Everything came from the money I earned doing computer maintenance for friends and acquaintances, and even at an internet café.

Now that I'm working and have a well-paying job, it's incredible how much it cost me to build this. Before, building a PC was a hobby, something easy, but now it's a luxury...

Yeah seems great, just needed some feedback. I test many mice at times (some ATK i purchased recently), but i prefer them corded with a bungee, but having to change them each time became cumbersome, also some of them are more stiff and larger diameter than others, so even though the use of bungee, some drag happens, especially the lighter the mouse.
Now this product would completely eliminate those problems, given that it can support 8k Hz polling on anything.

bronze salmon

wireless headphones already have a DAC and AMP built-in

quasi field

Oh you're talking about that? That's such a minor difference even if you were able to distinguish lossy and lossless

tribal shadow
obtuse dove
# bronze salmon Its just i want to try a dac really

it is very likely you will not be able to hear a difference, esp if you are listening to lossy tracks like on spotify (it does have 'lossless' but windows does weird things to the signal but that is a different story)

bronze salmon
#

I see

#

So does windows not have like a passthrough option?

#

Or is it always gonna be lossy

quasi field
obtuse dove
bronze salmon
#

Hmmm i see

#

The su-1 is a desktop dac so im guessing it should have something like that but ill check that out just to be safe

#

But about the amp is it useful for the momentum 4s? Since in passive its only got 60ohms impedance

obtuse dove
bronze salmon
#

Ill have to check those out

#

Theres so much ive not explored yet its insane

#

Oh yea btw what you said is true but the thing is my pc supports onlt a2dp bluetooth format (idk if its changeable or not) and cuz of that its capped at 16bit (44khz i think)

#

My headphones do support uptill 24bit 96khz tho

obtuse dove
#

44kHz at 16bit resolution is perfectly sufficient for most multimedia consumption

bronze salmon
#

I agree but there is a significant difference from 16 to 24 atleast i felt that in music

obtuse dove
#

Like YouTube is like 16 bit 44.1kHz

#

Spotify is similar

quasi field
#

The difference is dynamic range (noise floor)

bronze salmon
#

Maybe but i mean if it feels right then it must be right yea?

bronze salmon
#

Aight but either way i do want to use it wired since there is latency in gaming in bluetooth noticeable for me

obtuse dove
#

If the source doesn't match the output

#

And that introduces stuff like artifacts and some loss in detail because of resampling

bronze salmon
#

Output as in your talking 24bit to 16bit since the a2dp drivers right?

obtuse dove
#

Which introduces loss in detail

bronze salmon
#

I had used lucent's free trial of their audio drivers in that it was working

obtuse dove
#

Driver doesn't matter when windows is handling the audio routing

bronze salmon
#

Hmm okay

#

Lemme do some research on that

proper vector
bronze salmon

quasi field

obtuse dove

#

I mean there's physically no consumer chip yet which can do more that 21-bit on voltage that's about line voltage hanaSit

#

2^21 is 2097152 different states, it's impressive in itself nod

quasi field
#

@bronze salmon I recommend doing ABX tests using the Foobar2k plugin just to see how you cannot distinguish 16 bit to 24 bit and very high sample rates. It's humbling and an important step to prevent yourself from wasting time/resources on things that make no audible difference

proper vector
#

16/44.1 is enough nod

quasi field
obtuse dove
#

Cauz 90% of content out there is 16 bit at 44.1kHz

#

Saves windows audio routing the headache of having to resample all the time too!

quasi field
#

There's not really music above 20 kHz anyway even if you can hear that high

#

It would just be noise

bronze salmon
#

I see

bronze salmon
#

It wont go higher cause of the a2dp bluetooth driver

bronze salmon
#

I had used a third party audio driver that had 24bit 44khz audio format but it was only a 7 days free period during that time i did find a small yet noticeable difference in audio quality

#

So one way to get around that is a dac atleast im guessing or a dongle that they provide but i think dac would be good cuz i can use it for other speakers in the future if i think of buying (also ill buy a amp in future if needed)

quasi field
#

It's very easy to think all kinds of things makes sound different, but when blind testing it usually goes away

By the way guys, I saw you were talking about headsets. Me, I’d like to change my headset. So I currently have the Sennheiser PCX 38 and I’d like to replace it with the Sennheiser HDB 630 for my computer and, at the same time, let’s say, be able to have a wireless headset when I go to the gym or something. Knowing that when I use it on my computer, I plan to use type C to avoid latency, etc. What do you think? Knowing that I know that it’s not the same headset profile as, for example, the PCX 38 is more of a headset made for FPS due to its open design and better sound precision for footsteps. But I want a headset a bit more general and which will be mainly based for listening to music. So, I’d like your opinion on this, what will you think of it?

lament siren
#

you hate the pcx38 ? Heard they're very good

devout gale

devout gale
quasi field
#

Though you'll only hear the distortion if you EQ the bass up and play loudly

devout gale
# quasi field Though you'll only hear the distortion if you EQ the bass up and play loudly

Personally, I didn’t modify the EQ, I kept it original. That being said, it’s true that I already tried once to modify it a little bit but I didn’t really like the final rendering because we ended up having, like you tell me, distortions. So I really prefer, honestly, the original. But it’s true that even keeping it original, when sometimes I play, for example, a car game or whatever, and sometimes the engine gets too much in the bass or whatever, sometimes it tends to a little bit smother the mids and highs. Which means sometimes I don’t hear my music while I’m playing car games. Okay, after that it’s maybe a bit of a specific case, but in any case, for example, for Assetto Corsa Competition, depending on which cars we play, it can really smother certain frequencies or certain things. I’m thinking particularly with the LEXUS GT3 car, the RC F in particular, for those who play car games, you’ll see.

obtuse dove
#

If you EQ too aggressively your pre-amplification will be so low that you'll barely hear anything lol

#

And it's not like you can just increase the pre-amp either because you'll start clipping your DAC.

Personally, it’s a person who had recommended it to me on reddit and I had bought them on amazon so they were still available but I had a problem with the wheel on the side of the headset and so amazon couldn’t replace it for me so actually they offered me a refund and then so for the same price I bought it again on the direct site of the manufacturer but it’s true that now on amazon and everything it’s more complicated to have them or to find them anyway new or whatever. But that now, I think, if I’m not talking bullshit, it’s discontinued.
