A blue/purple frosted one would probably be cool too
Doubt it's worth making a ton of random colors though
I still entertain the idea that they will make some plastic cases in fun colors in the future
depends a little
Limited runs is definitely something we've discussed. It would probably be a group buy interest check kind of thing. Basically pre-orders, that only charge if enough folks jump in.
Or maybe an influencer wants a special edition with their branding - That seems to be gaining popularity in the keyboard market.
Please don't give influencers any more clout
it's already getting to their head lol
i agree
not really a fan of influencer drops
I would have to get payed to use a special branded keyboard for an influencer, don't see why I would pay to market for them.
Is Lekker 60/45 V2 Better than Gateron Jades, or are the Jades better?
Guess we'll find out... when they come out
Ah, they didn't yet
Depends on whats appealing to you about jades.
I like thet they are closed bottom. No matter how good V2s are, they arent' close bottom, so I will be using Jades.
They Jades are more high-pitched, and the V2s are more lower-pitched, correct?
Jades are louder too.
Does the closed bottom make the Jades more responsive?
No, it's just a feel thing. I like how it feels.
Louder in a clacky way or in a good way?
Weird question.
It's just louder. I personally hate how jades sound. I just like how they feel.
I'm getting more and more unsure about which switch to use.
Make your own
Yeah, build a switch
is it the lack of stem wobble? why jade feeling in particular?
Stem wobble is overrated
I just like the bottom out feel of a closed bottom housing
You really should have, damn
Would be nice to get a RAW numpad
What numpad is this
Don't know if the Wooting team also have a look at this to take note of suggestions and user feedback.
To keep it short: since I do code for work and game quite a bit, I nearly bought the 80HE in black zinc alloy. It was going to be the only keyboard probably till my funeral... But sadly, because of only 3 missing keys (well maybe only 2, but home/end are important at that) it won't happen.
Will possibly be the 60HE until hopefully a 'standard' TKL gets released.
#1141096226884956181 is the go to place.
Also you get all of the keycaps for the home cluster. You grab the ones you want and rebind accordingly to base layer and FN layers as necessary (just like on the 60HE)
Thanks @buoyant solstice should I copy paste it there? I would like to comment on your suggestions about rebinding and so on
Sure - Lay out isn't going to change on the 80HE though.
Alright, thanks.
Epomaker K1, sadly not hot-swappable which it said when i ordered from Amazon waay back lol
Hopefully wooting make one soon
@buoyant solstice sorry, I thought the feedback channel was an open discussion too -- only wanted to say, about the rebinding... I just saw, that you actually have 6 'special keys' on the wooting 80he, that could actually work, if I can rebind them, since I don't ever use the "print screen" or "pause" buttons, I guess I can put Home/End on them...
I just sent the second email to social@wooting.io -- I got a bot reply at first, but after that nothing, don't know if you're too busy or it got lost
Don't misunderstand. Feedback is feedback - I was merely pointing out that the 80HE is locked in place. It isn't changing 😄
Sure, I got that
I didn't knew about rebinding, never been into custom keyboards or anything... I got basically interested because of the rapid trigger mainly
The Wooting keyboards allow you to bind keys to multiple different things when the fn key is pressed. what most people did with the 60he was binding some keys in the bottom right to become arrow keys on top of their normal functions

Yeah, but there are certain keys where pressing Fn+something isn't really an option since you're using the key A LOT while coding. But anyway, as another user suggested, I can switch the print screen and pause that I never use for home/end, so problem solved.
Now I only need an email reply from Wooting to have a clear answer about a tax issue. Hopefully I can order the 80HE ASAP. Thanks!
Tax issue?
Hi @buoyant solstice, yeah, I live on the Canary Islands, we ARE Spain, but because of the remote situation we don't pay EU VAT, but we pay the taxes when the package arrives at customs. There's an official website from Brussels that explains this. Don't know if link posting is allowed here.
Ah yes - Canary islands. You're charged EU VAT on checkout, because the store doesn't understand these kind of ... weird exclusion zones.
You'd have to email us after the fact to recoup the VAT iirc
If I can get this reply without the "iirc" I'll be happy to do so hahaha
If you paid tax at the time of purchase and were required to pay additional taxes at the time of import, if you provide us with the documentation of the taxes paid at import, we can refund the tax paid at purchase.
baught a dav3 and im thinking about letting it in the box until her big brother comes home
Oh, that's great. Thank you so much! Off I go 😁
see u in late august UWU
late july wanna cry
hi, little question I saw that the rappy snappy tech will be added to the wooting 60HE, that mean it will be added when the wooting 80HE will be released for everyone or later ?
Earlier.
oh cool thx for the fast answer 😁
if i preorder the wooting 80 he i get some new roles and if yes how can i have it?
You...you already did

is the zinc case magnetic? I was wondering if i could throw some magnets in the wrist rest
the steelseries HE board does it for their wrist rest, works well
heard its gonna be heavy asf
They state the weight on the website
Will the 80HE module include the same stuff in the 60HE module? I.e the silicon sandwich pad etc.
The website has an image of all the parts 🙂
can't seem to find it, I can only find the picture of the parts in the normal 80HE
I'm just refering to the stand alone module you can get
probably not, also that would probably mess with the hall effect sensors
It will have everything except the case
The module has the exact same contents as the prebuilt save for switches and keycaps.
If I bought the module with all the bells and whistles, do I still get "all of the keycaps for the home cluster"? Also, does that include "end" and "pos1"? I got the "Wooting PBT Keycaps" in my order for the 80HE, am I right to assume you just get all the keycaps a two HE would have?
If you bought an 80HE with any kind of keycaps selected, you get them.
Weird that on the German layout the N key has the µ symbol instead of the M key, considering it's called "mu" and not "nu". I've only seen it on M so far and your Nordic layout seems to have it on M as well.
µ is on m
Is the image incorrect then?
Seems to be a render mistake. It is on M on the regular keycap renders
How many more days to arrive?
Months
now 5.2
Do you have a full image of this? I was curious about splitting Alt and Ctrl, we usually have Alt Gr for that, which I can see on your version of the image too, but then what keys are to the right of that
Right, I didnt even get a preassembled one, I could've figured that myself now that I think about it. I hope it was actually a render mistake so that preassembled Germans won't be surprised
Thanks for the help
thats not where µ is on a german keyboard. i assume the render is wrong as we have correct german keycaps as far as im aware
im also extra sure since the | is on left shift somehow
Wow I didnt even notice that, and yeah, also simply Alt instead of Alt Gr (Ctrl+Alt key)
But that doesn't seem to be part of the keycap set either
I'm guessing the right Alt Key will be mapped to Alt+Ctrl by default like on all German Keyboards? If not, I can also map key combinations to a key, right?
thats a windows thing
Fn on the right is slightly pain as a Mac user tbh. Though if you can toggle fn layers that could fix it, was toggling fn ever fixed for layers?
so in general right alt will be AltGr on languages that have an AltGr layer and windows also emulates ctrl+alt to come out as right alt/altgr for those layouts
and the image is indeed wrong
But the key will say Alt instead of Alt Gr in the German Layout Keycap set, like on the image? So that image is correct? (The image from Mansen's Link)
ye mansens link has the right images for the keycap sets
grabbed 90 jades for $45 yay
The video from 5 days ago with the different combinations of looks was cool
Is PCR Frost case available?
Always has been

what is this
A Chinese brand ripping off our keyboard packaging.
Over there’s called inspired by 😅
They wish. There's still laws in China.
There's also an even more blatant knockoff called the... there it is. The Looting.

It took Nike / Jordan brand 20 years to win at the China Supreme Court against Qiaodan. I can only wish you the best of luck
China has changed a lot since then - I also never said we were suing anyone either. But it has become a lot easier in recent years, because China knows it has to enforce western brand claims, if they want to retain them.
mansen Are you angry?
just a sign of a good product when someone in china yoinks it for themselves
I work in customer support. Marketing isn't my area (nor do I speak Mandarin to save my life) 😄
👌
Sorry to disturb your lunch. - Let us review that when the 80HE comes out. The problem with fake/ unauthorized/ B grade is huge in China and people are getting scammed. Brands has done a lot of things to try to secure a authenticity purchanse. Just as Hopperbus says. When something copy your stuff. You have reached a huge respect in brand value.
Whether or not we have or intend to take legal actions against copy cats won't be something we share publicly, but we do certainly take these concerns seriously.
Zooting 80hg already out on AliExpress
I would buy
Cows are such cute and handsome animals
Tasty too
Hehee
i actualy wondering why the 80HE has nothing realy unique to it like the strap of the 60; you know some small thing wich makes it clear; but oh well not that i need a strap its just such a wooting thing wich i expected
The layout is unique
lightbar
The strap would look goofy on a bigger keyboard, it'd be like wearing a cowboy hat to your wedding
yeah the strap was cool but it's been in the box pretty much since i got it because i case swapped

Strap was just goofy
Goofy but beloved.
We're a fan of Goofy around here
i wish they made a version of the 80HE with a strap
#nostrap
You'd have to make your own case for that unfortunately.
if you have a drill and are really determined you can do it with the stock case
i have neither a drill nor the will to put holes in my new keyboard LOL
. . . what
today carajo falta como 25 dias
Do you also use your own keyboards when you work like wooting two?
Most staff use one of our keyboards. I've used my 60HE since they came out.
Didn't even get an early one, injustice tbh
80He is gasket mount, so none of those required
will french PBT keycaps release before 80he gets delivered?
What’s the latest news of when the 80 comes out? I ordered mine about a month and a half ago. Curious what the latest updates are.
The initial dates haven't changed
Access and edit your orders, connect your discord, and manage your Wooting account.
Appreciate it. I didn’t realise I could check the website like a dummy. 😂 says July for me. Can’t wait! 👍

its corrected now
Yeah looks exactly like I would've expected now, thanks to whomever fixed it

3 months and counting
can we pre order the wooting 80he ?
Yes?
Can we preorder the 85he yet?
always said august for me
mine said july
75 he with the knob here yet?
Mine used to say July too but it was just a prediction, early August is what wooting has been hoping for. You will still be the first batch
Somewhere in the future. Like... August or September probably.
does anybody know or the 60he is going to get the 8k polling upgrade later on or is it 80he exclusive for a long time?
8khz would require a redesign of the keyboard. It is not a software update - and there are no plans to do so.
so a 65HE is coming instead? :p
yeah we need a 61 HE 62 HE 63 HE 64 HE too
no it's going to be 69HE
jokingly asking but it would be an option for then seeing how a redesign would be needed to fit 8k on the 60HE, so a 65HE would seperate it from the 60HE and if you havent read the 8k polling announcement on the website, people are asking for a smaller keyboard than the 80HE that supports it
Mine just got shipped today
I guess something between 60 and 80 might be the next logical step anyways
that is what i thought after he said a redesign would be needed for the 60HE, but people need to make fun of it😂
I present to you.. the wooting 35HE
now put it away into the bin where it belongs
If you want an even smaller device there’s the uwu
am excite
The looting is kinda hilarious, despite the shamelessness
Hey that’s what I’m using until my wooting arrives lol
L60 or L45, thoughts?
60 or 80 any day
60s already too soft
l45 and jade >
gross
meow
masen do u sleeping?
is there any difference of when i'll get the keyboard if i pre-order it rn or in july ?
The sooner you order, the sooner you wil lget it.
chat is this real?
i mean it comes out in batches, so when each batch sells out you'll be put on the next batch
we're still on batch 2 rn and it should have quite a few spots but couldn't gurantee those won't sell out by July
Have there ever been any changes to the LEDs of the keyboard's background lighting in comparison to older keyboard variants of yours? I'm mainly interested in the color temperature of the white lighting. Will there be a preview of the lighting for the 80HE or is it simply the same as 60HE?
so is rappy snappy only for the 80he?
Don't think so
it will be on 60he too
no rappy snappy will be a software update for the 60he and 2he i think
I'm pretty set for the 60he because i cant with the size of the 80he but that feature is making me hesitate
oh cool, thx guys
Well it's coming so nothing to worry about
yeah it will actually come out on the 60he before the 80he even comes out so no need to worry
ya'll thinking modding a wotting is worth? like key switching or sound mods?
if you care about sound and type feel yeah it's worth it
Does it really sound that different
When I watch YouTube vids I barely hear a difference
In person? Different boards sound different, but one or two mods won't relaly change a lot.
we'll i have a history of modding keyboard, its just i dont want to mess anything up in the competitive field of things
At the end of a day, a keyboard sounds like a keyboard, if you aren't interested, you aren't missing out.
Watch wootings modding videos
oh smart
They teach you how to not mess it up
YOUR CHEATTING
MINE GOT PUSHED BACK TO AUGUST TOO BRO
😭

yeah they sound worse anyway imo
although im saving my money and just gonna use my lekker v2s
they're alright but I would like less wobble which is what the v2's address
fair
When is it gonna be in production
in august
so they gonna start making it in aug
damn so next year then can deliver :/ what i do now with my broken keyboard
nah its suppost to arrive like june/july to thier warehouse
oh
depends on the batch tho my delivery estimate is late august
cuz the other guy said production in aug lol
when you ordered there was estimate on delivery so it suppost to arrive on that date
unless there is big delay
its around 4M tho still alot
Ight
So, no updates this week?
Livestream in a few hours 🙂
A few more months before I can use a working keyboard 😭😭
question 1 where are the new cables and keycaps
Yes
question 2 why are you so lazy

New cables and new keycaps are at the fulfillment centers, along with the new spring packs
First orders were shipped to the marketing team to take product pictures and prepare video content
Once that's done, then we go live
mansen is marketing?
No Mansen used his superpowers to create an order for products that weren't live on the storefront yet 😛
smh
They already started the mass production of the switches?
No one said switches? 🙂
hey me too picked up a headcold 🤧
l80 springs you guys crazy
(There's L100s too)
gonna make muscles while playing
Fingers like Arnorld's biceps
L45 are way, way too light for me. So I'm trying the opposite
where are the l80s?
and the l60?
They only exist as loose springs.
Coming soon to a digital storefront near you
😅
mb time for a software controlable force as next gen keyboards
Software can't change physics.
some electrinics in the switch you know
one day mb
The springs have a physically different weight and pressure.
L100 weight springs for analog is going to be sick
maybe im weird but i want springs lighter than the 45s
Not weird, just preference
L30 springs soft enough?
when are we getting 1500g springs 🤔
Aren't they L35 Mansen?

Now I'm not sure
You are correct!
perhaps, i use the wooting uwu for trackmania so having lighter switches makes it easier to control analogue steering i think (maybe im wrong)
when will these springs be buyable
very soon
are these magnetic
no idea doesn't say
Optional.
Compared to..?
The switches are all lubed. The springs are not.
So buying any pack of switches and swapping the spring to L35 would be like buying L35 switches if you will.
It's something some people choose to do, but it is not mandatory
They have 700 artisanal switch lubers working full time
Trained on Milan for six years before they can touch the brush
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN_-GYLTfpY
We made a video on lubing a while back. You can skip ahead to see how to open them up and all that - as well as the optional spring lube application.
Always wondered how you can lubricate your lekker switches or grease your stabilizer wire. In this video, we will deep dive on different methods of lubing and some general tips and tricks. Using the Wooting 60HE.
Krytox GPL 205G0 and Molykote EM-50L lubricant:
https://region.wooting.store/products/lubrication-set-krytox-205g0-molykote-em-50l
:...
can also just bag lube them all at the same time if you're lazy like me but still want lubed springs
if you don't like the crunching sound they make (which... they really do make) lubing gets rid of that
the salad toss is the best way to lewb switches
Do they sound different in videos because of external factors or are they not 1:1 identical? If so, what's the point in selling them in a different color
the new 80he?
I spilled water on my current razer keyboard for the 2nd time this week but I have to wait until August to get mine
I guess it's a 60, but still
of course not the 80HE considering they haven't been manufactured yet
it's just a recolour, no idea on why
thats why my question 😄 couldnt believe that
I think Dashes sound so perfect in videos, but jades didnt really do it for me in the ones I've heard, so I will have to try them in real life to know whether I like the sound of jades/dashes
https://www.youtube.com/@wooting/live
We are showing off a black case right now on the livestream.
Let's take a look at the Wooting 80HE DVT sample
The white zinc alloy was also showed off, if you watch the VOD later.
raw gang
Calder showed off the latest sample in the most recent video.
Calder's in Taiwan, so he has the fastest access to new samples and changes that need to be decided 😄
now this is awesome

wait till they show the built in coffee and sandwich machine
Indeed it is
now this I like
Sanders orange key cabs lookin really good on his white zinc 80he
Except up close he said.
they should expose the FW rom too
it should remain closed source, thats what allows them to challenge these big companies
the fw rom is exposed
oh i thought you meant just the firmware lol
all within the same eeprom?
the mcu holds the firmware
My Opinion: I might be canceling my 80he 😦 I currently have a TKL keyboard, and biggest dislike is the space in-between the "Keyboard" and the F1 keys, arrow keys/pgup/pgdn/del/end keys. I also think this LED bar although cool is just unnecessary, no functionality at all, takes up space, and I rather not have it die or break on me in a couple months. I'll just be pissed about it when it does happen. I also think this LED bar has been a headache for the team, but I know they give their all. I don't know if I just have to wait until they decide on making out a true 75% instead of a 77% hopefully I wont wont have to wait to long for that to happen. 70% is the perfect keyboard for me.
The keyboard shown on stream is zinc?
Where?
Sorry auto correct got me
Black was plastic, white was white zinc
Ah so no black zinc sad thanks though
Was white zinc dissasembled like the plastic one?
while i dont understand the breaking concern you are free to cancel any order that hasnt shipped yet. just email us at social@wooting.io
It was not. And zinc cases will be slightly different to open and close.
Ok thanks
70%?
Like the super compact 75% you mean?
yes 75% my bad
will do thank you.
That’s a very tough to find layout and I doubt wooting will be making that anytime soon if ever
It’s very unpopular even in the custom keyboard space with more variety
Can only think of a couple examples of companies who make that layout and it’s definitely not a big seller
yes true i currently have a keychron 75% just got for the mean time and I love it way more than my previous TKL
yeah
also the 80he's gaming performance is unmatched rn, I sorta doubt you are going to find anything with similar performance.
to each their own tho, personally I would just learn the layout.
A question regarding your concern. Since we have yet to fully understand what the LED bar does. (Has not been shown yet) Is your concern about the light breaking = not illuminating? The function is built into the chip. So it won’t stop working just because the lights stop illuminating. The whole keyboard has RGB, basically any light can go off with age.
The LEDs have a 2 year warranty. If this were to happen you would be able to email wooting to get a replacement.
The 80HE has a 4 year warranty, excluding the LEDs which have a 2 year warranty
oh ok yeah thats what I figured
This is the same for the 60HE and the UwU. The W2HE has a 2 year warranty for everything
Its also pretty unlikely for LEDs to just die randomly. They do fade/dim over time but that usually takes a while to start happening.
We're heading into the DVT phase of our 80HE, and this is going to be an exciting period. It means we make final approvals on the appearance of the 80HE, and it will mean it shouldn't take a long anymore till we head to the Mass Production samples. Also we have updated the looks on the frost case, tried out the dark LED bar and designed a new sw...
Can’t you just replace the LED yourself if the warranty is expired?
With enough soldering knowhow? Sure
Great
Cool
People have been saying there's warranty so I'm no longer really bothered by the LED lights, but the LED bar's function still doesn't appeal to me. I would compare it to the Apple's touch bar they had a couple years back on their laptops, never appealed to me, and it had functionality. Also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwHYBdbZ4eo the bar seams to be stressing out the team. Maybe could've been better with out tbh, My opinion though. I think its a cool idea but does it need to belong? idk Frost case looks amazing though. All in all I think the layout is just not my favorite I really do prefer the 75% layout compactness.

people didn't like the touchbar because it removed functionality not added to it, it replaced the f row and also had barely any app support
it's only useful feature was you could use it to skip ads on youtube, which was definitley not intended behavior 😂
and was really buggy on many software
Never had a proper chance to really jump in here and talk about the Wooting 80he.
Overall, in my unbiased opinion this will be my first 80% board after having the Corsair Platinum XT 110% board for 10+ years a tank of a keyboard.
I went with the Zinc Alloy in my order and I'm really looking forward to the heavier frame and also getting hands on with the Wooting Technology as opposed to these copycat rapid triggers (Razer, Corsair, Steelseries, etc.). The board is looking fantastic and is going to look amazing with the Black Alloy Frame and White Key Caps I order along with the board through you all❤️
Really looking forward to the estimated delivery date in July super excited to get hands on and I'm happy to support and independent company and as well as become a founder for the 80he as the 60he boards never appealed to me I told myself I'd never buy one. You all showcased the 80 and it was all hands on deck for me 😂 Hope the team is doing well and I personally appreciate all the updates you all provide. Congratulations on your current and future success! 🥂
we dont really know exactly what the LED bar is going to do quite yet but they're working on a video that goes in depth on what it does. the keyboard doesnt ship for quite a while so you have time to cancel it if you end up not liking the functions of the LED bar, however I'd wait until its functions are farther explained before you cancel.
steelseries was first with HE but wooting was first to innovate and make RT
i think

maybe I was wrong can someone correct me
What keyboard are you thinking of here exactly?
apex pro I think, the omnipoint magnetic switches
that came before wootings first HE board didnt it?
Here you go, enhanced with AI
but wooting actually yields the best results from HE tech so far (analog/RT)
uhm
as far as i know steelseries were one of the first optical switch users but not HE
I do not see a Duck in there. Need more enhancement!
We probably also need more fingers lol
You right
Well done, I'll take it. Lets shake on it!
no the 60he, i typed in the wrong chat
Do you know if it is possible to sync any wooting keyboard with razer chroma? To be able to sync it with wallpaper engeine.
Yes but not without a proper RGB suite that combines several brands together.
Razer locked third party access to Chroma, so it's divided into zones, not per key RGB.
Artemis is one of those apps.
They are identical. Don’t really know the point.
So you can but it wouldn't look as good as on a normal razer keyboard, right?
Although, I suppose that from the same wooting software I could manually configure the colors per key, right? So if it would take me a while but I can make it match the wallpaper.
It would look terrible - imo.
Try enabling Chroma in both Wootility and Synapse and see what happens.
I will do so as soon as I get my wooting keyboard. I haven't decided which one to buy yet though. I'm considering buying the 60he for gaming and then buying a 100% keyboard for work and stuff. Or there's also the option of buying me the 80he and use that one for everything. I still haven't made up my mind
It was not the first
There are Hall effect keyboards going back decades but the most early like “gaming” one I know would be acepad tech
It also depends on what you consider "first" in terms of the features.
Using the HE as an analog input was us.
Steelseries only used it for adjustable actuation at first iirc? A bit like those special Topre* switches
yeah i meant gaming HE board
oh really wow!
can't wait for Wooting including support for Dynamic Lighting so we can get rid of all 3rd party apps
On Windows*
Maybe*
guys just a dumb question but i wanna try lubing the lekker switches for the v2 ( first time ever lubing btw) but do i also need to lube the screw in stabilizer or stabilizer because i am kinda scared to take every piece off
is it gonna sound a lot better if i lube the stabilizers
Im alittle fustrated with the new update only reason why preorder this model was because i dont want icons on my board... and now they adding icons I may want a refund...
did he really just talk 5 minuts streight about a keycap puller wich for most enthusiasts lands streight in the bin'?
I like the icons though, makes it unique, will be interesting to see them 🤓
Why?
#@nova nexus Well the icons are art and art is subjective you may like the design but for others it could be offensive or plainly just ugly.
you won't see them anyways once the keyboard is assembled?
did they say it wouldnt have any? cause 60he had them so i’d expect 80he to have some design
and it's not just art, it's also a tribute to the backers
Sure, but they're only visible when you're actively modding the keyboard and have removed all of the switches and keycaps
@nova nexus i wanna cancel my 60HE orders, because i see Icons on the PCB

seriously tho, such a silly thing isn't a valid reason for a refund imo, but Wooting's generous enough to refund you anyway, especially because the product wasn't shipped yet
but honestly? The icons add some personality to the keyboard imo and i like them
I'll say this much - I don't recall us ever receiving a single complain for the 60HE.
So I doubt it'll be worse for the 80HE.
Y NO KNOB?
nothing to do with generosity that's whats only proper and fair - if i don't like the smell i will get a refund it was always like hell even if you used it fgor 20 days you can send it back - normal for many countrys
We're still working on the knob.
Is there a technical reason why the 80he doesn't have the strap? That was the coolest part in a way
because the strap is unique to the 60HE
Technical? Not really. You could argue it would make the board longer.
But the strap is a 60HE thing, not a Wooting thing.
Ah
given the size of the 80HE, which is barely bigger than the 60HE, the strap would indeed add something to it, but then again, the strap's unique to the 60HE while the 80HE received the RGB Bar
so i guess each and every new keyboard of Wooting will have something special no one else had
Ok that's interesting
but then again, there are already fakes out there, copying Wootings design in some ways
well also the strap was for a highly customizable keyboard to begin with. the 60% layout is just infinitely more popular in the third party products scene for anything from cases to stabs to anything in between. the strap is a unique 60% thing for us and we dont expect to be putting it on other form factors necessarily.
the uwu also has smth special with an led top bar and 3 micro switch buttons which no other keyboard has of ours (except led bar with the 80he soon)
i like my f row 😢
I wish I could add a detachable f row to the 60
my UwU exploded
just buy 4 UwUs?
or 2 if you use the bottom keys too
All knob keyboard
I don't know what you guys mean by uwu' s
I thought y'all were Memeing
UwU
this thing would hafe been so awsome if it would hafe a WASD layout or 6 buttons as example use 2 for fithing games haha
have* fighting*
there are other options out there and besides: it has 6 buttons

or more like 3 keys and 3 buttons
If it had more keys it would solve my issue
I remember in the last update video, calder mentioned something about the LED bar is different depending on if you get light or dark case, does anyone else remember that or am I tripping? Wondering how that works if i just get 2 modules and 2 cases, how would I know which is which?
A lightbar that is colour matched is included with each case.
🙏🏻 Smart way to do it, thanks for confirming!
Is there any information regarding developer support for the lightbar for the 80HE? If so, is there anywhere I can be pointed to? I have some ideas for games I play to incorporate the lightbar
Nothing yet
hey guys wanted to ask if there is a white coiled cable that's compatible with the wooting tachyeon mode or if wooting are going to release a white color coiled cable soon as I believe it would match the white case and keycaps really well
White cable coming within a week or so.
(there's also pink)
i need a white one for my ISO 60HE

so the lightbar is actually swappable? 🤔
question
https://wooting.io/configurator/wooting-80he?model=ANSI+/+PCR+Plastic+/+Black&lang=United+States&keycaps=none&quantity=1&product=standard
does this mean keycaps are included already, or do I have to select keycaps further down below?
ANSI? Keycap Preinstalled.
technically? yes. practically? unlikely
No ISO
ISO? No keycap, gotta grab some during checkout or bring your own.
ah yeah I see, ty
Also gotta install them on the board yourself, but that's easy.
exactly
takes about 3-5 minutes for someone who knows the keyboard layout in their sleep
also to confirm, I can change key mapping in software right? I dont need page up/down, but I do need Home/End
Yep
you can change any key to anything you like
hell, you can even map F21-24 onto WASD
not sure why someone would need it, but it's a possibility
doesnt work the other way around tho
Want to bind ESC to fourty keys? You can do that!
I will be silently judging you for it, but its possible.
is that a ducky one? :D
Shuffle them randomly
Whoever made this keyboard is a quack
you haven't seen my Wooting Bamboozle yet
I almost had that with my UwU, but postal wanted 22€ in "touching the package" fees.
So I let them go back to the US.
what am i supposed to say with my Gateron stuff?
110€ for the kit and 34€ on top for import...
making a 90 dollars kit almost double in value just for import
@buoyant solstice
Too slow 😦
My CPU is at 100%, so even Discord is taking seconds to react to literally anything 😄
88! done

Guess I'm watching xXx again.
why are you watching triple x lol
I got to ask at anytime soon can you guys share any knob info? (Knob enthusiast)
Because I reminded myself of it just now 😄
adult websites have a lot of nobs
lol
True
A brit once called me a knob
an aussie would call you a cunt
at least the brit didn't call you a twat
I love how aussies walk bare foot while having the most ankle biting creatures in the world.
They train from an early age.
i bet my entire year of income that an aussie would be the better Seal than any murican
Probably
Canadians
nah, fuck canadians, they're whimsy about everything
my man... they do worse than just walk bare foot... try being unconcious for 8hrs or so while literally anything around them could kill them from a small spider to some snake
"oh, german beer's so cold served, oh, murican BBQ is too smoky"... bitch, deal with it, that's how it is
I would whine too if I was Canadian
Also beer should be .5 degrees above freezing
dafuq
'Common' house spiders in Australia
are you trying to kill the taste of it or what's wrong with you?
Found the Canadian
dude, i fucking live in the country of beer
Czechia?
Land of beer so weak you cant taste it if it's cold
czechia doesn't have a law of pureness for beer
Is there a "Stupid questions keyboard newbs ask about modding" faq somewhere?
But na I'm just biased toward enjoying super cold beer while outside on hot days
you know that too cold drinks are actually worse for you?
Define worse, it's beer after all
Does #🪛│modding_faq count?
why is beer being discussed in 80he channel not #💬│general
See I didn't even see that channel. thank you.
it's lobby small talk since we're all in the 3month waiting room rn
80he confirmed nonalcoholic
1
when are we going to get silent he switches ?
When someone comes up with a way to do that without compromising the benefits of HE switches?
german beer is pretty boring these days
the discussion had moved nightman

@buoyant solstice congratulations on the promotion 🙂
No promotion.
you are now in wooting team, were u always been there?
Like I've said numerous times. Just undercover. Move along.
compromises ? I honestly don't know much on that subject, if you could please enlighten me on that, that would be great.
Not for me, ice cold water and red bull just hit right
Saw a video update about the frost case. Will there be a pre-assembled option with the frost case? It's only the black and ghost case options.
no module only
Thank you. If I buy the module option, does it come with all the case internals like a pre-assembled? Gasket, PCB plate, etc.? Never assembled a keyboard before.
Thank you. I'll cancel and re-order the module. I saw the frost case and really liked it.
Were you part of the founders campaign?
No, why? I didn't hear about the Wooting 80HE until recently, after the campaign ended.
You get familiar with ALT shortcut keys
stupid keyboard newbs probably shouldn't mod their keyboard first thing
Already answered a few posts down 😄
My phone didnt load anything past that message. Oops

But i wanna make it thock to make it better so i can win /s
The pipeline from never modding a keyboard to suddenly wanting to try every mod on a wooting is too damn wild
mine still stock almost two years later
60he was my gateway drug into keyboards 💸
like I could mod it, but why
Stock is lowkey best mod
its not gonna perform any better
Best for your bank account that's for sure
Maybe change key and and switches and call it a day
Everything else has insane diminishing returns and is a time and money sink
sure I get that a fancier case looks cool and all, but people literally spend hundreds for this shit
I’m not going to mod my 80he in any way probably, it’s already gasket mounted and whatever else
for no functional improvement
But i like to tinker so am gonna tinker 😂😭
Stock lubing on the switches when I bought them wasn't that good though lubing made a big difference
Am just gonna use my own switches and keycaps and use it as is
Maaaaaybe do moleskin tape mod instead of stock well see
I'm keeping my 80he pretty stock, apart from maybe cerakoting the case but we'll see
On mine I might change keycaps at some point but that’s it
Dunno about you, but im gonna take mine out to dinner
Im tempted to open it up to check out the icons however
I bought the module so I'll need to buy keycaps anyway
Fair lol
And i can use the founders free pack on my 60he
Also I might buy a custom cable for it 🤔
Well for all my boards I'm still using my stock 60he cable
It kind of matched when I was using my bruce lee x2
I contemplated getting that mousepad just for that lol
Whats the rush? Keyboard comes out in 3 months.
They are priorotizing cancellations, warranty claims, support etc
👍
think they said the order edits are paused since they're not urgent while they make a system to let folks do them easier/better
does anybody know when the "FROST" case will be on the website?
You need to buy a module to pick that case.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XG1uDXOTm0w
I'm sorry, but the feet are so ugly I feel like we are being trolled.
Let's take a look at the Wooting 80HE DVT sample
Did they really need to stand out like a sore thumb both in design, size AND color?
I love the feet, but hey I like Noctua Fans.
I like Noctua Fans too
Also personally wont matter, like they said typing with the lowest angle is better for wrists. And with the lowest ones you wont see them.
I've got 8 in my PC
low angles hurt me
I have 20 in my old pc lol (CaseLabs case). Only 5 in my current one.
Interesting, I have a bad right wrist, and I perfer the low typing angle, I have to use the wristwrest on my alumaze 60HE.
Also I use XDA uniform keycaps.
like on an apple keyboard the low angle doesnt matter because the keys are basically paper thin
but on cherry profile keys I need the height to be able to type comfortably
in combination with a wrist rest
5-8 is acceptable, anything lower or higher starts to cause issues after long use
Hold your breath, maybe they will sell the silicone feet in colors later on. I would assume if they do work out they will use them on future keyboards.
I could see accent color feet being a thing.
Possible, might also DIY my own if I get the time, we'll see.
Sharpie Markers here we go.
Thin layer of Spray on PlastiDip.. not sure how you would go about it.
i have friends who are better at this stuff than me, they'll help me figure it out.
maybe it's because you use a wristrest
Happens even without a wrist rest.
Unless like I said, it's an apple keyboard that is wafer thin with wafer thin keycaps. Cherry profile, or even worse, OEM, is just too high to use without a wrist rest even if it's a flat keyboard.
Sounds like you’re used to high angle
We all have different body proportions and setups, so it is what it is.
Not really because my fastest typing speed and most comfortable is actually with an apple keyboard.
But with keycaps like cherrys, it just doesn't work for me, I need some height.
Yeah I mean comfort wise what you’re used to
Most folks just end up used to what they use normally so different setup feels weird or off to them even if it’s ergonomically fine
you develop form based on what you're used to it takes a while to break out of that, like when i switched mouse it was uncomfortable for me for about a week until i adjusted
I see no reason to change what I am used to.
I changed it mostly for ergonomics. Long term I want to be able to type pain free until I’m old and seen way too many gamer friends get rsi in their 30s
I type on a few different configurations and they all work fine for me despite being so different.
It's specifically the combination of high keycaps and low angles that gives me issues. But I also do martial arts and do olympic weight lifting so my wrists probably have tons of damage already
I'd have to take a photo and compare some time, but I feel like a wrist wrest with a higher typing angle results in my hands being flatter than lower angle with no wrist rest
But i also know there is no one size fits all with ergonomics even though there are good rules of thumbs.
I found low angle with wrist rest the best ergonomics wise personally
Just have to avoid pushing down into the wrist rest, but that’s true for all wrist rest usage
The wrist rest is only really there for using WASD in gaming, when am typing I don't relaly use it.
I haven't tried to game on the apple keyboard so not sure how that would work though lmao
Any info on the lekker 2 performance in the wooting 80 he expose today
nothing new yet, but we already know what it is so there's not much more to show really besides a final sound test
I am not interested in the 80 polling or extra keys. I like the 60 form factor for gaming
lekker2s are just tighter lekkers, am not expecting anything huge lol
Okay so no need to purchase then
I use the raptor he housing with the lekker 60 stem
I have zero stem wobble and my keyboard sounds incredible
yeah if you already have raptors with stem swap you're fine
the lekker v2 change is more to bring lekkers in line with those other options for stem wobble
lekker 2s are good for people that buy prebuilt but for the rest of us with franken raptors or gaterons there is no point in getting v2s
Good to know, i actually think our franken LekTors are incredible
i'll probably still throw my lekker v2 freebie set into my 60he once the 80he gets here, just so i can have a slightly lighter switch vs the franken raptors
I felt a huge performance increase in analog games, the LACK OF stem wobble allowed me to lower actuation distances
why not just spring swap rn?
Same gotta use that free pack for something
I am not a fan of the 45 and lighter switches, i find them too sensitive and cause accidental presses. The 50g raptor spring is surprisingly spot on and without the stem wobble its legit
atm my favorite is 22mm 55g springs
feels very controlled and consistent through out the entire range instead of being too soft at the beginning and then needing more force to bottom out. It makes fine tuning DKS very easy.
Im 100% consistent with 50g and at that small difference the speed performance benefit appears negligible when lighter can cause accidental presses. I lost my shit with the L45s the first week in fortnite
Also has the nice side effect of sounding better
I was all over the place with accidental presses
spring swap doesn't work for raptor franken switch
no matter what spring you put they still feel like 60-70g due to the slightly too tight housing
But i bet a big part was the OEM profile and the wobbly stem, the OEM keycaps are too heavy for the L45s
damn, rip.
I've tired it with stock raptors, jades and ks20us and its been nice having the same springs in different switches.
like right now i have the 50g springs in the raptors but they feel slightly heavier than my L60 lekkers
just side effect of the franken switch that you can't really avoid unfortunately
Yeah I personally wasn't a fan of frank raptors so I didn't try.
yeah they're still good, just a little heavier than I use for gaming normally
Ill take 60g vs 45g all day
Jades and Dual Rails have really good stem wobble.
And im unreal rank in fortnite build and zero build
based
That stem wobble cucked me in so many build fights
peopel that use 45g remind me of the soft hands brother meme
Plus i have man hands
Just resting my fingers on the keyboard was activating keys at 0.3mm
To not get that to happen i would have had to raise actuation distance to 1.0mm
For me that was a dumb trade
I use 0.1 on all keys except a few.
I swapped them out after a few days when i realized how much worse performance actually was
I would love to use 0.1mm, but even with the franken LekTors and the speed i have to hit keys in fortnite it was too low
In a tac fps absolutely. But fortnite id accidentally hit the wrong bind grazing a finger
thats why i like the longer spring
the bottom out is still 55g but the initial force is higher, which prevents accidental hits
Which spring?
but like sno said, might not work on franken switches, i have tried. I've tired them in lekkers, raptors, jades and dual rails though with no issues.
Thanks for the tip fenix, Ill order some and give it a whirl, i love modding. Just got my pc backplate
yeah np, def worth the try, it's good to dabble and fine tune your build and preferences.
Eh its not bad at all at 6.50, ive spent more on dumb shit lol
free shipping too lmao
I dont mind if it still feels like 60-70g with the spring swap if i can still lower actuation to 0.1 because the initial force is higher
theres a 62.5g version of it as well
I got 45 and 62.5 to try but i haven't tried them for long yet, am really happy with 55s
i tried 70g and it was too heavy. a lot of times I think i would hit a button and it wouldn't work, and after a long session of holding WASD my fingers would tense up a bit. I got used to it, but it wasn't ideal.
Sweet im ordering this set now, ill just get the 55g one
Yeah I think its a safe call, very comparable to stock l60s or raptors, but with the benefits of long springs.
Not looking forward to taking all those keys apart again

An opportunity to lube/relube at least
Did they come factory lubed or did you bag/hand lube them
i bag lubed them
actually they come in a neat little box, i threw in some 105 and shook it well
Thanks a ton for the tip, really appreciate it, i love experimenting with fun cheap mods like this
At worst its a few bucks and an hour of your time, at best your game is elevated
It WILL change the sound of your switches though, so maybe test one out if you care about that thing too before you do all of them.
I think it improves it, the extra mass does a switch good imo
I game with iems so im not into keyboard asmr, i am fortunate they sound incredible to me with current mods
Stock was a bit tinny if that makes sense
Yeah, I fiddle with sound for fun, but at the end of the day I don't care about it, i priorotize performance > feel > look > sound
that steel plate is rough
Same exact order for me too
same
are we getting more upgrade options for our 80he orders yet?
the new wrist rest isn't even added as an upgrade option yet
is there any difference between the 80he and the two HE other than the extra keys?
Uses arm, lekker v2, led strip, 8k hz, pc plate, gasket mount, foam under switch, screw in stabs, etc
All keyboards use ARM now
Performance wise u won’t be better on a 80he than any other wooting board
ordered mine for my birthday
Incase was using the og 2 he
I cant play with bad sounding keyboards right now, i will cringe so hard from the sound 💀
Am I the only one who thinks that the light led bar looks so much better than the dark led bar (sample)?
yep
Yea it does look better, but they’re still working on it
Does every 80he come with the new keycab puller?
probably
Nicee
3 more months
i need more time, still haven't ordered a lub station kit
Im just paying $50 for someone else to do it for me
Too much tedious work for me 💀
u mean switch lube and stab lube set?
im paying less for lubes and kit, plus i get to experience it which is part of the fun 🙂
i ordered the lubeS from wooting, but ordering some other third party kit for organizing all the parts etc
oh share a pic or somethin
not many options rn that's why im taking my time, maybe something comes out 🙂 found this one on ali
aaa, like the station to put all your switches in for lubing
so it wont be aall over the place
Such a luxury. I just used a piece of paper and did five switches at a time on that 😄
i like the idea of using bowls and just a flat surface or w/e but i think i would make a mess
I like to do one switch at a time. I get confused when I have a lineup lmao
I like it when lube is all over the place
lubes gotta lube 👍🏻
hopefully i don't hate the process, i'll listen to a podcast or something (which i also never do) - some change in routine is good 🙂
el pedro on 10hr repeat
i honestly don't think it will take more than an hour
I've got that lube station & it's ok, it's kinda chill to do it while watching a movie, podcast whatever
take a bucket and just throw them all in there
pour some olive oil on top, call gordon ramsey
call it a day
i will use this bag method for lubing springs tho instead of this lube station.
will still call gordon maybe he has some advice
that particular lube station is quite fine for regular stems, but HE stems? good luck keeping them seperated
Took me 4-5 hours to lube my 60HE the first time.
Good opportunity to put on a movie or shows.
is there a better alternative? 😄 or tips
i don't think my neck/back/shoulders can handle a 4-5 hour session 😅
why'd it take so long?
I wasn't rushing and taking my time to lube the housing and springs properly. Replacement wires as well.
well, sadly there's no proper alternative for HE switches. my tip: seperate each part. Top to top, bottom housing to bottom housing, springs in a bag, etc.
do the stems not fit in to the tray holes? or what did you mean by "good luck keeping them seperated" 😄
once you're done with the seperation lube a single part. i.e. bottom housings only
the stems are magnetic, so they like to stick to each other
hahahha i didn't think about that
makes absolute sense ✅
no shame in keeping them together in a big pile tho. You're not weakening or strengthening the magnets that way
I just watched the latest video update, ngl, the dark LED bar is not it (yet)
Much rather have the light in the black case
oh, also make sure you clean your place after lubing and wash your hands
that stuff gets everywhere, even if you don't want to
i use the original wooting case as my lubing station xD
Whatever works for you as a mat or container. I used a piece of paper - Now I have a lubing station like the one shown above that Calder threw at me. Too big to ship to Taiwan I guess 😄
It'll be a fun test to see how an 80HE works with L80 springs.
i should get myself one the wooting made me lube and try things out so frquently xD
and for the love of god, DO NOT use the lube for lubing anything else but keyboard stuff... Yes, i've heard of people trying to lube their willy
thockyyyy breeding session xD
wich lube would u use the 205 or the stab lube xD
uh... neither, because the lube's not water based
so it could cause skin irritation and other stuff
I could see some biz opp here for wooting to make wooting branded kits - im sure it's prob easiest/most profitable with current model - small light accessories whitelabel
also no flavor!
they were thinking about to buy the Gateron disassembly kits and sell them in their store, but sadly the demand isn't there
AHHAHAHHA no flavor he siad
10/10 would buy
i have my disassembly kit already
Keyboard surgery
slaps my iFixIt Manta kit on top
Now we can proceed the surgery
which is better?
@buoyant solstice when do we get the updated lube kit?
the plier one
the pliers, definitely
i can crack the switches open like nuts with them
wouldnt wanna piss you off ;/ real damage can be done
ahhh i remember why didn't add to cart... i think i read about damage but is there truth to it?
lol, no
it does seem 10x easier and saves a lot of time and hassle
i'd imagine they're made out of the same plastic anyways
just place the switches properly and slowly close the plies
youll damage it if you dont press hard enough and try to split it but thats with any opener
nope, aluminum
I think the only one I have seen from plastic is from glorious
and honestly even a 3d printed one works fine for quite some time unless you are opening kailh switches
the switch and keycaps puller from gateron are also made of aluminum, only the tips of the keycaps puller are made of some freaking sturdy plastic
Hi everyone. I’ve ordered my 80HE during founders campaign but didn’t have enough time to Write my Name for the website 80HE founders. Is it still possible tov
overkill in what sense?
the speed of yanking the switches out with it is unmatched tho
in the sense that it is massively overengineered vs just a regular switch puller
Sure. It's on the hub
i can yank all the switches of a 60HE with it in 3 minutes
it does make it easier tho
I was always limited by things non-tool related
Thanks, I actually just found out how to. Have a nice day 🙂

like how quick I can move my arms accurately
Gateron switch puller is like $50
lube it yourself and save the $50 to spend on the puller
what
i kept my pulling arm in one place, only positioned the keyboard itself with my left arm
Hi Mansen, is there a way for us to give feedback on what was shown in the latest update/DVT stream?
30 bucks, excluding import fees
I have everything to do it myself, just too much work 💀
i paid around 140€ for the whole kit, import fees included
my basket is like 60 rn, what am i missing
I bought one, pretty easy to use i will say
can you screenshot it?
Would be nice to have a Wuque keycap puller
that ons is decent, it's what I use
or for the ones who have the money and build at least 1 keyboard every month
I legit can't see how it makes it any easier
based off your disassembly kit pic - I am missing a few pullers, tweezers, and brushes... but I see you also have some DURO tool kit on the right
what are these tho?
those are said switch and keycap pullers
gateron vapes
keycaps and switch puller
U just push and pull and thats 1 switch in 1-2 seconds
all imma say is i dont get cramps in my hand when i do it with the gateron puller any other regular steel puller and i get cramps halfway trough
so about the time I take with a regular switch puller
virgins aren't familiar with that process
i thought we were talking about these pliers

no switch pullers not openers
these are switch opener pliers
those are to destroy bottom housings on long pole switches
oof
oh is it summer already it's getting very hot in here
again, I don't see the advantage, literally just makes it more unwieldy
btw is that a stock 60 he ? you got in the pic ? what r u gonna do to it
it's not a stock 60HE anymore
80he gasket mount
it became the Wooting Bamboozle
these are switch openers right?
wich one is ur fav ? and what are the specs ?
i did not even see that wtf hahahahah is it or is it not a wooting is the question
it is a Wooting 60HE PCB inside a SteelSeries Apex Pro Mini case
ok, so pliers in cart; wtf is keycap and switch puller, need to look into vids on this. I thought these just..pull out...
its to pull the switch from your pcb and the keycaps from your switch
With tools. yes
I mean u dont need to buy one since 80he comes with switch and keycaps puller
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WN_-GYLTfpY
First couple of minutes go into tools and plucking them
Always wondered how you can lubricate your lekker switches or grease your stabilizer wire. In this video, we will deep dive on different methods of lubing and some general tips and tricks. Using the Wooting 60HE.
Krytox GPL 205G0 and Molykote EM-50L lubricant:
https://region.wooting.store/products/lubrication-set-krytox-205g0-molykote-em-50l
:...
in fact i even used the Apex Pro Mini springs and stems to copy the feeling of that crappy thing to perfection
idk if i want to puke or do something sim xD
ok def puking
yes I mean, I thought these just pull out with the given tools - but there are some better tools for the job?
reminds me, there was that person here that claimed you should grab switches by the sides with a switch puller
instead of top/bottom
that's why it's the Wooting Bamboozle. Feels like an Apex Pro Mini, sounds like one, looks like one, but doesn't handle like it
NO!
youre a troll
Not that big of the difference if you’re not doing it often
which legit does not work
if youre not gonna mod often its not worth buying the pullers but it does make it a lil easier ofc
exactly, the gateron stuff does the job more conveniently, that's all there is to it. If you only lube and assemble a single keyboard in 3 months it's not worth buying the kit
🤷🏻♂️

tell me these are not vapes
maybe they are if you ask a third time
what did you endup going for in terms of switches and case ?
can i ask around for your input on brush sizes 👉🏻 👈🏻
One that fits

im gonna pretend i didn't see this
the whole set even comes in its own box
i can imagine your future husband proposing to you with this
lol no
i was joking saying i don't want to buy it in a roundabout way 😄
the $140 set seems totally worth

he'd have to propose to me with a car key for a decent JDM
