My biggest wish list for wootomation is being able to 1. save the macros in the keyboard and not have the app running so that i can connect to any computer and go, 2. Make the macros exportable so that i can back them up (or currently port them to another computer) 3. Bind the macro to a key combination (layer1 third row third key) instead of a character

the binding a macro to a key combination, well sort of works, but different layers and such might be difficult. wootomation uses web based key location/value detection

which makes it limited to what the web browsers can identify from key presses

the issue is that wootomation actually executes the commands, not the keyboard

without wootomation there is no OS level interaction available to execute, including the logic

at which point if you already have to install wootomation, there might be other ways of actually porting/syncing the macros saved

our macro software does the same as AHK and such by programmatically issuing key inputs to the OS. depending on the game this wont work as some games use raw HID inputs which wouldnt pick up those programmatically issued ones but only actual hardware inputs.

also keep in mind most online games disallow macros as a banable offense

Since finding out about Wootomation, I've been trying to use it to open the file explorer to certain directories, opening specific webpages, and quickly open programs. While it can do it, it chooses when it feels like listening and work at all. Most of the time, it just won't do anything--like a poorly trained dog or something. I don't know why it can't happen consistently, if it's set up properly. I'm really hoping the next patch stabilizes it a lot more.

I can click the macro combo repeatedly over a the span of a minute or more, but it'll never open 5-10m later. If it doesn't work, it will never work later.

It's just a simple macro to open a directory, web page, or program. Nothing crazy. I set the macro key to shift+ctrl+windows key+num pad button.

That way, it's never set off accidentally.

It does work once in a blue moon. It's done properly and is enabled. It just works every now and then.

Hmmm... I seem to have misremembered. I tried to get shift to work, but couldn't really get it. I gave that up and made it ctrl+windows key+num pad. I'm going to remove num pad and make it F13 and up; lol. I hope that changes something.

tho there could be a way to make it work within Wootomation probably, Wootomation was designed to work with also generic keyboards. That's why I think you should replace the binding with either F13-F24 or use another key if you want to retain the analog profile switch functionality

Wooting cannot add such functions since the anticheat blocks it and also because it would violate the EULAs of every multiplayer game. It's just not possible to do it through Wootomation.

If Razer/Logitech etc ever figure out a way to make switches like u guys with the 0.1 mm actuation, rapid trigger and other amazing features.. BUT have added functionality with the macros and stuff, (and we know they dont care what happens to their customers as a result of using these macros) that might tempt a lot of people away from wooting. and i dont want to see that happen!

hi im attempting to use the Wootomation app but it seems like it kinda just doesnt work. im playing a game where i require Pg Up and L-Alt to be pressed within 2-3 ms of each other for a movement combo but it just doesnt do anything

keyboard used is a G613 wireless (via dongle not BT, it has both) and logitech in their inf wisdom only allows g-keys to be remapped

i need that sucker on Q since its very difficult to hit those buttons while moving with arrow keys

Hello, I just discovered your awesome new app, but I'm experiencing a small issue. I want to create a macro that, when I press Q, it should press L and the left mouse button simultaneously. However, I want this action to repeat continuously while I hold down Q. Currently, it only performs the action once, then after a short delay, it starts spamming.

The goal is to instantly build in Fortnite by pressing Q instead of pressing Q to select the building and then clicking the left mouse button to build it.

   to circumvent that i bound F24 to my spacebar using the Wootility software
   then set the trigger keys of the makro to F24 and then did the makro
   (Screenshot shows both sofwares with F24 on the spacebar and F24 as the trigger

another way to do this would be to move the spacebar input on the half pressed spacebar and F24 on the fully pressed spacebar, then change the macro to this:

this way its still possible to type a normal text or jump only once if you press the spacebar only half way, but if u press it all the way you get the second jump at a set delay
and if u dont care or dont need the delay just bind spacebar to the half pressed and fully pressed key

2. something went wrong in testing:
   the 900ms delay is 0.9 seconds, depending on the game your char has not landed from the first jump and there is no double jump function so the second spacebar does in fact nothing noticeable
   try adjusting the delay to match your char movement in game
   but to see if the macro does something at all id recommend to run it in a software for text that allows you to see spacebar inputs e.g. MS Word

@shy lotus @waxen dagger hello Tony I wonder if anybody ran into same issue I have but basically stabilizer keys like spacebar, left alt and tab are sticking when I'm playing League of Legends. I'm using Darren's profile: f9d222f8a16de5a9f989dcf1c3db0ea50666. I put holding Alt + left click to ping for example, and because alt is sticking it won't let me use left click and instead keeps pinging when I press left click alone (sticking behavior is digital not physical). Now given that I play the game with overlays (Blitz & overwolf) they could be the culprit as well. This setup never had this issue past 5 years I have been using it. Issue started happening once I updated my Wootility. So I guess we can start here and you guys can help me narrow down culprit.

The way to undo sticking is pressing the stuck key again. Problem is I don't know which key is stuck middle of high paced game (could be alt could be space - camera lock centered on champion)

You can set up a Mod Tap on your Space Bar in Wootility (Hold to press e.g. F24, tap for Space).
Then add a new macro in Wootomation with a single Space Bar press and set (e.g.)F24 as the trigger key.
I couldn't get it to work the way you wanted solely through Wootomation, so a drawback is that every ordinary Space is a little delayed, but this can be avoided by using a different Trigger Key instead. (Num.0 to spam Space for example.)

Hi, before buying a wooting keyboard (interested in the 80he) I have questions about macro implementation
I tried downloading wootomation but could find answers to them:

• can macros be stored on the keyboard itself (8mb space for that) and will they be executed on hardware, or only on software by wootomation?
• how do I record a macro and assign it to a key live / directly during play?
• how do I setup a key hold / sidewinder button type functionality?
• as in pressing a "hold key" and then another dedicated key that will then be held until it's tapped again (simple example: to hold W to keep running forward in a game until it's pressed again)

Is there a way to use the Menu key as a modifier key? I would like to use[Menu]+[D] to open my downloads folder, etc.

This would be particularly useful as one could re-purpose the menu key as a windows/OS/software function layer as opposed to the hardware-oriented function layer of the Fn key.

At the moment, current functionality means that the [Menu] key is not registered at all by Wootomation, unless I'm missing something. Perhaps something for the feedback section?

Unfortunately, no - I certainly haven’t found any way to do it. Wootomation seems to me to be in a nascent phase right now; the macros I actually have gotten working are fairly limited, and there’s no way to re-purpose the Win (meta) or Menu keys as modifiers.

I do applaud Wooting for making this keyboard-agnostic, but if you’re looking for something for productivity it’s definitely better to look at AutoHotkey right now. If it’s for gaming, don’t use AHK as many anti-cheats don’t like it

Indeed, the Plasma 6 says it comes default with Wayland.
That could explain appimage not working.

I played a bit with the Software today and added new configurations for the Sarcastify Macro. (Different Options)
Since i never written something in react and especially in conjunction with Tauri, it was more of a copy past and try fixing the issues then actuall coding for the ui part.

What annoys me a bit, once i hit a breakpoint, my whole pc input gets laggy as hell for whatever reason i don't really know yet.

I understood the most of the code, but some related getting keys and running those macros needs more time to look at + the 1.2 part where macros are triggered even when other keys are pressed (found a setting for it but it is not used, and it still works somehow!?)

If your current OS Key Layout does not have those keys, there is no way. Your keyboard does only send numbers to your pc, those get converted into your current OS Keylayout. The application basically does only send this number too, not the character itself.

Other then that, you could probably add it to a paste action (but I’m not sure currently) and it would paste it in the text input where your cursor is.

It is something only for QMK Keyboard Firmware, which is a open source firmware for keyboards you either build yourself or maybe from some smaller custom keyboard manufacturers.
Since Wooting has its own Firmware, I don’t think that is possible.

Well, Wooting has released a new keyboard with a new software (which is still in Alpha/Beta) and coding it does also take time. And since it’s a Software for a paid product only, it’s clear that they focus on that instead of there open source macro software which they don’t earn money with.
If you don’t know what open source means: basically everyone could download there source code and program stuff to it for there own purpose or for the purpose of adding those features to the official application (after approval).
This also means that you could download the source code and compile it yourself so you can already use it.

I think that if you pay 300 euros for a keyboard you expect it to already come with this software. Not all of us are programmers since when we buy the keyboard we become consumers. At least there is one person who is looking for a solution and does not say that they are focused on the development of another software to only configure lights and key sensitivity 😂

hold and repeat are in the 1.2 release but they are extremely buggy. i just compiled from source and i would not recommend using it

as an example. this macro, with hold, you'd think would only work while holding the button, but even just pressing it results in shift getting held down and f without stopping.

Is it possible to set a trigger that's contextual on how far down you press the key?

I just got my 80HE and I have only one complaint with it (which I already knew about when I ordered it), which is that it doesn't have a HOME or END key.

So I was thinking it'd be fun to make my Page Up and Page Down keys have alternate behavior if I bottom them out.

Page up inputs if I press gently, Home inputs if I press it hard.

Using Wootility it doesn't look like there's an option for this, but I remember some old videos showing you could get stuff like activate and confirm with MOBA abilities on the same key press, so it feels like it should be possible to do.

I think it was in json, but I don’t think you can easily convert them without knowing the actual structure.

Macro toggle is being worked on but still a little buggy (should get released with a 1.2 in the unforeseen future) and mouse movement is also already in 1.2 branch as it looks but I don’t know if the ui for that is implemented yet.

You need to install Rust (not the game ^^ ) and then run specific commands that compiles it to „release“ builds.
But this doesn’t mean that the forked ones do not have any issues. Also it could potentially be that those have code, that doesn’t even compile so you would need to fix them yourself.

Hi, I've recently received my 80HE but have found that Wootomation seems to stop working periodically throughout the day, especially after my pc is locked and unlocked from sleep etc.

The app itself remains running, but the macros all stop functioning until I exit and restart Wootomation which makes it pretty frustrating to use as a convenience feature for macros.

Any idea why this is happening or workaround for windows 11, I saw someone else on github with a similar issue from a while back but not other info?

Hi, I appreciate this kind of reply but I've noticed the team reverting to referencing "it's an OS function" on several occasions when functionality is inquired about by new users. I just received my keyboard today, and while I'm not a custom keyboards builder or anything I would consider myself a power user. And I don't think it's fair to revert to saying "it's an OS function" when your competition has these features baked into their native software. Instead I might recommend probing further to learn what exactly the user is inquiring about.

I'm in a similar boat where I'm a bit disappointed in the lack of macro functionality post-purchase compared to what I owned previously (a corsair keyboard that I had for over 7 years). Some basic software things like linking profiles to .exe's, blocking windows inputs without having to use powertoys or this keylock workaround (looking at you, alt+tab + windows key), and adding modifiers to binds would be welcome additions to even the basic wooting software. For example when I was messing around with wootility "mod tap" I realized it didn't support modifiers like ctrl, shift, or alt, which made me then look at wootomation... I don't feel like I should have to use another program to support what are considered "fairly basic" binds for most power users.

Its something that the underlaying system does, it doesn’t return the actual pressed key but rather only the ansi us key that would be at that spot.
This underlaying system is made by someone not from Wooting (it’s a crate/library for rust)

Side note: loving my new keyboard more and more in competitive FFXIV settings. Can't wait to use it when the new ranked PvP drops in patch 7.1 -- Just wish more and more it had the kind of modifier key support in things like mod tap, DKS, etc

Macros suck rn, you cant use wootomation in games bc you cant activate the macro key while simultaneously pressing another key. The macro will not activate. So in your case you wont be able to use the macro while moving
