cherry mx compatible keycaps are super common i believe, its the + designed stem compatibility
and taking off the default keycaps should be super easy with a keycap puller, then you just push the other ones on right? not that difficult?

What exactly does tachyon mode do to decrease input delay? It doesn't chance the effective polling rate, so I'm a bit curious as to what else it does.

Whereas other keyboards or ours if tachyon mode isn't on, it may send a USB signal every 1ms but if the scanning isn't also done every 1ms then the system doesn't know that there are updates to submit

If you have a silicon case for your phone try putting your rest on it. Now think of something a bit softer. Quite a nice touch, soft and has a lot of space. I only got it today and I'm still trying it but it seems on par with foam wrist rests, maybe even more pleasant in a subjective way

Hey guys! I finally got the keyboard!
I think I made a mistake during the address filling process that ended up making making a huge chunk of my address missing on the shipping label. The support staff were there to help me out and in the end I got super lucky. The delivery guy called me before he went to the other cities because he couldn't find my address using the label and luckily he just happened to be a few miles away from my house when he called. So everything fell right into place and I got the keeb nearly a week earlier than expected.

So after trying it for a while I got to say that the performance is impressive. However, coming form a low profile cherry mx speed, I really miss the snappy-ness. I do have another keyboard with normal profile switches which only have 3,3 mm of travel and that feels also quite a bit more snappy. I've tried the controller mode and found it quite interesting and I can clearly see why the switch would need 4 mm of travel for that.

It is a somewhat strange feeling because I am so used to hit the bottom of the switch after actuation and now I am essentially combining the 1 mm actuation point on a "long" travel switch. It is weird to feel that I can easily press down another 2 mm, but essentially there is no need for that. That kind of makes the experience a bit "soft", as in I regularly don't have my key press bottom out and my finger essentially hover in a pressed state of 1,7-2mm. I don't know if there's any sort of fix for that, because it's the whole point of the switch to respond at whatever distance we set it to. If there was a "short-travel" version (around 3,3 mm maybe), I might actually be somewhat interested as I do find the rapid trigger very, very interesting.

So yea, it appears like my preferred style of switch has to bottom out properly. I would be quite interested in a larger Wooting, mainly a TKL, as I still love me some proper arrow keys to throw a car around.

Just got my keyboard today! The only thing that I've noticed is not really an issue with the keyboard so much as my desk...

I have the Secret Labs Magnus metal desk, which comes with a magnetic desk pad. The whole point of the desk is the magnetic accessory ecosystem.

Turns out that the metal desk mat interferes the slightest bit with the switches. I'm pretty sure that I can just remedy this with a little bit of cardboard under my keyboard or maybe a second non-magnetic desk pad, but I was wondering if anybody else had run into this

Which would be accurate if they actually scanned on pickup at the warehouse, which they do not.

Due to the high volume of packages sent out each they are kind of shoveling them all into the truck, leaving the scanning part to the sorting centers they drop everything off at.

I always preferred using number row over numpad despite having only fullsize kbs for 30+ years

then again I never worked as an accountant or cashier so I haven't had to input numbers into things all day
