Holy shit now its there
no its not
Ya
This is what we call a prototype.
š
The lack of worthwhile content begs to differ
Oh shit osu discussion letās goo
SS-type
thatās what iām sayin
Ah yes, the game I have been playing occasionally for the past 15 years.
My account was created on 2008-10-08 and I have been seeing my ranking slowly go down over the past 10 years or so with some stabilization if I have a burst of activity
oh shit alumni player?
garbage
not worth it if you play ln charts

Just make your own buy hall effect sensors and buy 2 lekker switches, a bit of soldering and programming later tadaa you're tokaku now
Keypad when
Actually it would be funny, the problem is keypads come with a variety of switches to hotswap to, and the lekker switch is a whole different type of switch so you'd be limited to a single switch on a keypad

Why would you ever want a different switch
cheaper and smaller for osu
I'd want one
mod tap, dks and variable actuation points would be very nice on a keypad
I don't even play osu or any rhythm games, it'd just make it more useful in general
pointless to you perhaps
sauce?
I have also been thinking about possible ways to make normal switches compatible with wooting kbs in general, maybe a extra pcb layer on the bottom with the hotswap sockets, would be very difficult tho considering how it's already a packed pcb
I want both
make a kickass analog keypad and spice it up with maybe a display and some knobs/faders on there and I'd pay 60HE money for it
I don't get stuff like knobs/displays/faders and stuff on a keyboard/pad ingot my stream deck as a macro pad which is way more customizable than some knob that might get in the way
well to each their own I like them a lot
Can't be an osu chat without this weird shit

I swear all the animu voice actors sound like they 6 years old
just saying its a bit weird is all
it's called voice acting for a reason?
Also certain languages have different impressions, some languages make the voice sound deeper and others make it sound more high pitched
bro a whole wooting keyboard is 200 bucks why would a keypad cost the same
Also there are a few benefits to analog like rapid trigger and durability
Well a steam deck is like what over 100 bucks?
oh didnāt read what u were replying to
Dw, I just had the deck even before I had a pc (laptop gaming š„) and now I use it regularly because it's convenient for media controls and macro pads (I can also control discord or my Corsair RGB items)
If I had the choice rn I'd save the money on a deck
The downside of a stream deck is that it doesn't use switches so you can't really play OSU with it. When just using it the buttons feel good but with OSU they'd feel a bit mushy
I know nothing about keyboard manufacturing, enlighten me
The cost of a keyboard is primarily the PCB. The cost of the PCB isn't so much the raw materials that go into making it, but the overall production process; everything from R&D, tooling, line time, labor. Those costs are not much less for a smaller sized product. Indeed tooling in particular could be much more costly on account of a non-standard format product.
At the same time, the total addressable market for a keypad is substantially smaller than that of a keyboard. Therefore the same potential market share means far fewer units sold. This requires that each unit accounts for a larger share of the fixed costs.
That nasty combination of having roughly the same costs over fewer units sold means that it's not cheaper to make a keypad than a keyboard.
Understandable isee
Nah there is definitely a market for the keypad
Yeah but it might be bigger than you expect wooting is pretty big in the osu community
Also Iām not an expert in wooting pcbs but for like osu you can get away with removing a lot of stuff
People only really care about rapid trigger and maybe adjustable actuation
also 1k hz
Any other spec is not relevant for play or is minuscule
am still hoping we'll see a dank ass keypad from wooting one day
it'll be pricey sure, but it'll be the best damn keypad on the market
I like having a number keypad, hence going for the full-size keyboard. But I prefer the size and look of a 60%. Also owning a laptop aswell as a desktop, if I could buy a wooting 60% with a separate and matching keypad I would, so I can then travel with the 60% while leaving the numpad at home / or vice versa
doubt
eh
i can see now with the rise of wooting being known to be reliable and good in rythm games
that there might be smth on the horizon
in like 10yrs
when 60hes dont sell anymore
they already did make prototypes altho non functioning
the main issue for not making them was the price point and not enough interest for a rather expensive keyboard just for osu or other rythm games
understandable tho as well... doesnt make sense to invest tons of money in R&D and prototypes when there is no potential market to speak of yet
keypad seems more viable than that, sure its a niche market but a damn 4 key controller is a niche within a niche
Yeah if the price is similar to a full keyboard I don't really see the point (I know it's portability and space but cmon)
if they can match or get slightly above the price of the Etsy keypads then I can see it being quite big
what do those cost?
60 or 70eur?
more?
if memory serves roght last time the price it would cost to sell such a product with 4 buttons was too high for the target market
for the 4k pad it's 45$
Here's my idea for the pad
2 middle keys for players who like to play index and ring with a gap
3 keys on the sides for players who like to play index and ring with a gap but with a key in the middle
2 keys on each side for 4k vsrg players who need more space
Possible to play up to 6 key games
I'd also like to see a weight added to allow the pad to be used on unconventional surfaces, such as mousepads without needing a sticky pad on the bottom
it will allow for multiple types of play without needing multiple variations of the same product like many keypad makers have
Anyone using niz/topre for osu lel
I used to use niz I prefer traditional mechanical
7k players:

Tbh I don't think the market for a lekker keypad would be big enough
Woot
Instead of one, make multiple small ones you can put together š
For however many keys you need on the go
Small thingies in pairs
maybe make one a little larger but not too large. maybe lets say like 60% of a normal keyboard-ish. sounds like a decent idea to me š
not sure if thats been suggested yet
Osu discussion.
ohio
the keyboard is amazing tbh, really want to try on std and ctb
and is crazy how mrekk set the record like nothing in save me lol
Twice
op
rs
yoo
c
He broke his record again?
he did it with the wooting š
did he regain the pp record after the rework?
I know there was the 1251pp Because Maybe pt 3 play but that got nerfed
How comfortable is it to work with 6 keys in a row like that though?
It's a bit narrow for me, personally on the wooting two I use "A'' "S" "5" and "6" (numbers on the numpad) for osu
more ergonomic
it would be quite narrow, for my own preference I prefer at least 3u of space, the idea is for 4k players to have optional extra space
a side benefit is it would allow up to 6k gameplay
yea that got nerfed super hard down to like 800
It should just be 3 keys I donāt see the point in making multiple models for multiple play styles when both ring players and middle players can both use 3key
jesus christ
I cannot believe it has blown up this hard only recently, despite being out FOR OVER 1 YEAR
Kekw
honestly same this shouldāve been a trend way earlier
unless rapid trigger is only recent
yeah you laugh, but I knew it was going to be busted ever since chyrosran22 uploaded the review of the Lekker edition over 1 year ago
this was like whole SIX MONTHS before this entire thing blew up
too bad I was broke ahh 1 year ago
university discord
yeah I was pushing a few months earlier too most people just ignored me though
Hey btw ur speech on osu universityās channel is really spot on
osu! Talk Event is a 3-day event where players from around the osu! community share their stories and experiences around a central theme. The theme of this talk's event was overcoming obstacles. In this talk, cristi2708 explains the difference between different types of keyboards and uses that information to give valuable advice and insight on t...
yeah lol
You see to be one of the few people who know what youāre talking about
for stating the obvious that everybody else fucking chose to ignore
ok now I am actually really curious about something. hopefully one of the guys from the wooting team can answer
@zealous otter asking out of curiosity, how much of the keyboard total cost is due to the R&D that was needed to be done to bring the features the wooting two brought to the table? like I am curious to see how the price is distributed, because I've estimated that the cost of the individual switches alone is about $1-1.5/switch which is like $110 just the switches alone when it comes to the Two HE, and then the rest is designing the PCB, designing the logic gates and coding the microcontroller to allow analog sensing and output, then making a DSP to transmit the information from the keyboard microcontroller to the PC and then also software interface for customization of said features
I'm asking all this just to see if my thinking as a engineer in terms of cost to make the wooting from ground-up is in the right place or if my deduction was completely wrong
@amber zealot it is something I don't know anything of. I do have a general idea's what the total cost is of the board, and the margins. But it is stuff that is kind of confidential. So I am afraid, no-one would be able to provide you the exact details. D:
ah alright I see
it was more of a interest of mine as a student in computer engineering
it was moreso because I kind of understand what resources it takes to make a keyboard like the wooting with all its features and why it costs as much as it costs, and I've been having arguments with some people that don't interface with computer science as I or some other people do and I just wanted to be sure that I wasn't spouting nonsense, that was basically all there was to my question (I don't like to spread misinformation)
sorry if it was a bit too intrusive

I understand, no worries. Always feel free to ask, that's never an issue. š I am just not too familiar with all the specifics. For my job it is mostly important to know the margins Wooting has for marketing purposes. So all the specifics aren't really relevant for me. š
alright, thanks for the input and response though; also keep up the good work, because people like you guys that actually bring new and actually useful stuff to the market is what drives the others around the market to change, and it feels so nice knowing that I supported the people that pushed the change to the masses (I've been Stan-ing contactless switches ever since I heard of them because I geniunely believe in the tech that drives them and their quality and capabilities, and you guys actually managed to utilize their capabilities to their full potential, I'd even go as far as to say that the HE lineup is probably the most responsive and best linear keyboard on the market right now, bar none)
I think it's about time that I make my post in the #archived_i_have_my_two_he
Necro but I'm using a heavily modded hhkb that runs at 1khz
Most modern aftermarket controllers with QMK support will allow you to run at 1k
I used to have an abko keyboard that used niz switches but I never really liked those
I did try niz domes for the hhkb but those were also wack
I've settled on DES domes
As in I bought a dome sheet from niz for 20 smackers and just cut it up š
Yeah the abko I have feels nice for typing but I absolutely despise them for osu
ah yes killing off any mania potential, adding the need to make another version, the whole reason I thought of that design
so just sell a 7 key keypad then
why canāt standard players just play on that
you say that but adding a spacebar would increase the overall footprint of the pad
its a hard balance having comfort and retaining the pads portability
its already cramped for people who would play 6k, 1u of space is not much
you donāt need to add a space bar just something slightly larger
Like a shift key
z x z x z x
Here's an idea: make a matching but separate TKL and a 4x6 macropad. They'll cover:
- TKL lovers
- osu!/vsrg people (up to 6k players) for whom macropad is small/portable enough
- numpad/macropad on the left enjoyers
- people who mainly use full size but want the ability to detach the numpad
Four birds with two stones ā what's not to like?
I think a lot of osu! players would be interested specifically in a 2key pad
Macropad would be really cool too
I want a real macropad/keypad, not some bastardised nintendo controller
2/4 keys would literally only be useful for this game and not much else
That's true, but I wouldn't underestimate how much demand there is for 2k pads, osu! players are crazy lol
Rebuffed in the combo scaling rework (Then probably going to be re-nerfed with the length bonus rework)
i havent looked at that site for a bit is the length bonus rework a nerf or a buff?
It scaled back the impact of misses and sliderbreaks a huge amount compared to acc
Aims to make osu! more rhythmically focused basically
again, too niche and wouldn't be much cheaper than a macropad
I would look into sales statistics where possible for 2key pads, because they sell a lot, but yeah, I agree that a macropad would capture a larger market
a lot of people may want a 2k, not a lot would pay $100+ for it
Yeah, that is very true
so misses are less impactful to pp then losing lots of acc?
Exactly yeah
And the length bonus rework will nerf excessive use of length over difficulty
Mhm, I finally get my 400 back lmao
still, those people could still use a larger macropad, you could even have keys grouped in a way that would be beneficial to the game
while still allowing a wide range of other applications
That's true, but then you risk isolating other buyers
That's fair, you'll probably get a little buffed by the combo scaling rework if your acc is decent
Because gamers just love their pp
Here
i mean my top play is 96.3% but its 3 mod so idk
its the āconfirmed changesā right?
or am i wrong?
Combo scaling first, they'll roll out the others after
and im assuming we are waiting like around 8ish months for another rework to hit?
yea my top only gets buffed around 20pp for both reworks
which isnt bad tbh
Combo scaling is set to come much sooner, maybe 1 month or even less depending on the GitHub progress
Could be a laser-style meme where it becomes months tho
Length changes we don't know yet, they might choose to ship both in one update, which would take longer
The R&D is hard to place as itās not an isolated project and it shared resources over multiple keyboards. But we have spent a significant amount of time on the software development for both keyboard and pc side. Coupled with the electronic design. We spend also a significant time on software post release, as we donāt stop the updates/features. This is a bit difficult to place a number on as it is written off as operational costs and not an fixed asset investment or per product cost.
When it comes to manufacturing the hardware itself and the switches, thereās economies of scale that comes into play, so it isnāt $1 per switch in hardware. It is definitely 3-4x your regular per (hot-swap) switch cost that comes on top of a more complicated PCB design, more IC parts, and QC requirements.
ah I see; thank you for clarifying and thank you for entertaining the technical talk of a fellow engineering student (currently computer science student at a pretty good university in my home country)
@paper mica also, if you guys do decide to go through and attempt to make something like a micropad/keypad, might I suggest to make it something like 5-6 keys per total? this is because most people would only need as much, but 2/3 imho is not enough, because for example while playing the game, I tried one of those 1 year ago and found it personally frustrating having to use my main keyboard to pause the game (escape key), not having a skip button (spacebar), not having something with which to press enter (enter key) and it just had two keys for playing the game
I think that ideally this is the minimum it should have
I mean, the enter, space and escape don't have to be positioned there
I placed them like that cuz that's the movement that I'm accustomed to using while using a regular keyboard
but you get the ideea
it was super annoying and uncool
I'm pretty sure they already have a prototype, though Im pretty sure they said it takes too much to produce and there's too little buying it
this would also be cool
like you'd have multiple little 2 or three key modules you can 'clip' together
would still be extremely expensive
but as least people would just buy however much they want for the games they play
I wanted to throw out my ideas if somehow they do decide to go through with it (it's more of something to keep in mind, because realistically speaking, if you buy the wooting you don't need a micropad because the switches on the wooting are already durable as it is and I don't see why you would want to have a separate mini-keyboard)
(i.e. league of legends needs at least 4 of these, your average shooter 3, osu mania 2 etc.)
at that point you might aswell buy the whole thing
to carry it along
the 60HE is portable for that
I go to lan parties regularly, and laptop + keyboard weighs something
like 60% are super small
idk why you would buy a 2 key version
just use other wootings as macropad ez fix. see this is my work setup
Osu standard
why didn't I think of that
those are all the iterations from prototype, to One to Two and then the Lekkers?
its a preproduction w1, production w1, kickstarter w2, w2 lekker edition and w2he
since then a pvt 60he and 60he arm got added
I bet you guys must be spammed with requests to bring in a TKL version, amirite? cuz like in my circle of friends where I recommended it, a bunch of them said something like "if only they did a TKL, I'd preorder right now"
I see
I only have w2 lekker, kinda want a 60he, but no monies
altho the 60he arm is currently used by mansen
the main purpose of buying a keypad is cause itās cheaper than a full keyboard
At that point just buy a keyboard lol
but in this case it'd cost about as much as a HyperX origins
with the modules?
it could be cheaper if made in large enough quantities
I think
not really
Calder knows about the economics here
@terse pewter
it would be relatively cheaper
as calder said, it'd be 4-5x as expensive compared to your regular contact-based boards
a keypad retails for how much?
ehh
idk 2 key keypads are on sale on aliexpress for lke 3 euro
yeah so going by calder's statement
but the probably suck for osu
why would you need a 100$ keypad
i mean the wooting klein (just a nickname the community gave it) with the 4 buttons thats pinned here was estimated around 80-100 iirc
at that point just buy a 60he
my memory could serve me wrong but it wasnt produced as the target market of osu players deemed it too expensive
yeah, I too know kind of what it takes to build something like that with the features of the wooting
honestly
Wait tony youre apart of the wooting team now?
@terse pewter
there you have it
yepp
that's fair
You'd need to make it more attractive to a larger range of customers, enabling it to be a bit cheaper
but mĆØh
pipe dreams
that's for later
i mean maybe now with the arm mcu (which is quiet cheap compared to the avr mcu) there might be some small cost savings
but i cant imagine it to be massive
How is arm cheaper but better?
I sort of wish more people wouldn't talk out of their ass like they know how to deck-out a keyboard with contactless switches and also be top-spec in terms of latency and other stuff and then say " I CaN't WaIt FoR ChInEsE CoMpAnIeS To MaKe BoOtLeG AnD ChEaPeR VeRsIoNs Of ThEm"
I'm looking at you, Abyssal

the amount its used means its produced way more and the quantity drops cost per piece
Oh I see, thanks for the explanation
like, motherfucker
you don't know anything about R&D
it makes me so mad
when I see stuff like this spreading around like wildfire
like I'd even go out on a limb and say that the Wooting IS CHEAPER
than the alternatives to analog switches rn
Fr
For example:
Razer Huntsman Analog- $230-250
Steelseries Apex Pro (not really analog but still analog capable)- $250
Corsair K100 (OPX Optical non-analog switch) - ~$250
like gimme a break
why would you buy it off eBay anyways š
lol fr
for like 5x the price
I mean I came kinda close
I bought mine like before all this drama happened
because I trust in the tech that the <@&375234916776017933> is implementing
u could still preorder well after that
And those aren't even close to being as good as the wootings keebs
I ordered mine like a month after the drama
I ordered in like august
they don't like the idea of waiting 4-6 months for the keyboard like from october till march
Patience
osu players definitely donāt know what patience is
they need to get good NOW
the keyboard won't make you better but it'll increase your skill ceiling
it's just a keyboard
it depends
for example when I went from Corsair Strafe with Cherry Mx Silents to Razer Huntsman Elite with the linear optical reds version 1
you still need to be good at the game to make it worth it if it's your focus lol
I could do shit I couldn't do before
because the switch was light as fuck and super responsive
so like I was able to do crazy stuff
If you go from a membrane to the 60he then maybe
I'm used to use silver speed and them are quick asf too
man these things are now scratchy as all hell for me
I cannot use a linear switch without it beeing contactless
because I immediately can feel the scratchiness in them
not really
for osu at least
You need to be good to use the keyboard to it's fullest potential
https://youtu.be/inycNVB1hSo like take a look at my arguably best play

when I changed to black switches my speed went up like 25%
I couldn't do this
And Iām 6 digit
damn wtf
What does 6 digit mean, i don't play osu
I did the same from blue shitty outemu to silver speed corsair
the game feels better but I'm not hitting luv lama dt
ĀÆ_(ć)_/ĀÆ
osu have a ranking based on performance points, you earn them playing maps, the higher the combo, accuracy and difficulty, the more you get and climb in the ranks
Just cause you didnāt experience a difference doesnt mean everyone wonāt
Weighting and feel of the switches can heavily affect your technique depending on how you play so experimenting is worth while
top 1million
I see thank you
https://www.twitch.tv/cristi2708/clip/MoldyAttractiveTapirVoHiYo?filter=clips&range=all&sort=time yet another example
this probably applies to like shooters though

@paper mica look where the level of maturity drops when you arenāt there for the live stream hahahahhaha I was soo busy at work tonight I missed stream and chatting with everyone⦠Iām watching the VoD now and caught this clip for everyone hahahahha
Watch Wooting_live's clip titled "Wooting live - OSU āā¦the girlfriendās got to be happy with itā¦ā"
š
A hilarious moment from tonightās live stream on twitch - Sander and Erik discussing their thoughts on OSU
taking in mind how ranks works based on % and competitive games, being a 5 digits it's likely being in diamond
the top 99.999 is 0.61% of the total accounts
and the top 999999 is 6.13%
and skill difference between the top 0% and 1% is extreme
you still need to be a good player regardless, more specifically a stream player
u know that for league, one of the biggest games only the 1.5% of the playres are diamond or more?
the feeling that you're not that good it's cause how distorted is our vision as higher ranked players
that's why I say accounts, but dude, theres just few people that can match you
I'm low 4 digit mania and I still feel trash
maybe I'm just really harsh on myself
yeah, I realised that if you look the average, being even a 5 digit is insane
also, players who left the game by a lot of time doesn't count on active players per country, so according to 2021 year in a month you have 18,202,420 active players
active ppl on a week is around 300k
Sander country boy jokes š
I love wooting

osu
No
owo
@solid veldt you should DM the mans mark and maybe tell him that he can place lighter springs inside the switches, since he might like it lighter
he isnt doing all that to much effort
yo bro
no we dont. settings arent sent anywhere except when exporting them. even then there is no identifying data attached to profiles unless you name it in a way that identifies you
Maybe try asking him on twitch(?)
more ppl need to post their profiles on wootbase
It's over 20 million now iirc
Just did some excel magic and just the top 50 countries have 20.5mil active players
Csgo has a monthly playercount of roughly 37 million
So osu is ~ half as popular
that's why I said being even a 6 digit is something to be proud if you do the maths xD
mrekk was using the config i gave him at one point
6digit is top 5%, 5digit is top 0.5% and 4digit it top 0
05%
and the difference between 4 digits and the top 1 (basically still 0%) is ridiculous
Since there's 750 preds on pc
The 0.1% is from Apex legends status
Interestingly enough that means last apex ranked split only had 750000 players??
That can't be right
I must be doing the maths wrong right?
you're saying that's too low?
cuz not all the players play ranked matches I guess
instead in osu everyone is forced to be ranked
if they play
so the maths are always clear
Yeah i guess
Anyways that means being 20k in osu is equivalent to being pred in apex
66k is master
I'm in the top 0,2%
And top 600k is equivalent to being diamond
š
I was in the top 700 once, back before the performance based scores in the early 2010's
Fucking ancient human over here
Started playing in 2008 but I just play a few bursts a year
Was still in high school back then
I see I see, I joined in 2016 and I feel like a veteran, can't even imagine joining in 2008
You must laugh at this idea lol
jesus
Basically I enjoyed Elite Beat Agent and the Ouendan games on my DS and a classmate of mine pointed out there was a pc port which instantly hooked me>
But yea 2016 was long after I stopped being really active
I'm since 2015
If I knew about it in 2007 I would have been even earlier
I started playing osu because my gf told me in 2013 but I never made an account
then in 2015 I come back to play ctb

Never really got into ctb and mania. when dedicated maps for those first hit the game I was already over my peek of play
Ahh I see lol
Damn
I made to reach the top 300 in ctb but I quitted to play std and learn the other modes, I'm just enjoying the game rn since I quit ctb
That's fair yeah
yoooo brooo
can you slide it over for a G
you know what I mean
0.5 activation with 0.5 rapid trigger feels nice
e81327fc1fe5bcfa05a2962ad8fb39d4821b
thats the profile code lol
you just insert it on the insert profile button on the right next to create profile
it had a different code before bc i hit share on the profile again so it gave me a new one but its the same one i edited to the code i gave him anyways
arent the only relevant settings actuation point and rapid trigger on
for osu that is
yes but talking generally
can't wait to get my keyboard in two weeks i recently already improved my streaming capabilities to 220 bpm 200 notes
can't wait to see how much the wooting improves the speed
don't expect the wooting to magically make you better or you'll be disappointed, as with many other things a lot of it is down to technique
im just a technology enthusiast who happens to play osu and have a few other reasons to want the wooting
so i wont be disappointed
but i gotta wait til late december-early january
i switched between so many keyboards i know already it wont make any faster but i use a stream technique that i noticed on my friends wooting would bring me up to 250-260 bpm
the wooting magically makes you more consistent lmao which is technically making you better at those skills all around
it really doesnāt if you lift your hand fully when tapping it doesnāt make any big difference to a cherry red
its mostly good for people who dont lift their fingers fully
thats why he said its about technique
i feel like the low actuation point has a thing for jumps for me at least especially when i used the apex pro
just 0 finger control is doable on the apex pro because you have to lift so high since you gotta go above that actuation point
but yea technique for streams for sure
but if ur not lifting ur fingers how are you really streaming on anything else?
other then the wooting
apex pro 3mm acuation point
idk when i did that but now i got used to it
just sometimes i dont lift high enough and thats when i lose
thats why im hyped about the wooting

yea i dont really have a issue with the cherry reds except the actuation point
idk i feel like high actuation points are only good for jump maps
but i hate jump maps
xD
lmaoo yea im a jump player so it kinda makes sense why i like it
they're to boring for me
depends what jump maps your playing
idk i can play all maps up to 7* with mouse and tablet equally as good
i played mouse for like a year and a half then started tablet 2 months ago
and tablet i can do mostly what i did on mouse already
whats ur profile btw
ohh how did you get restricted
its been 3 years but i just love the game so idc
when i started working i wanted to quit cookiezi style
lmfao
so just cheated for a bit to get banned on purpose
that was i think 2019
or 2018
peak rank 429
bruh idk i think around 8-9k
that was before sotarks tho

so it was actually an acomplishment
nowadays idc anymore about pp
im happy if i make some nice plays
thats why im waiting on my appeal time
yea ever since i switched to tablet i dont really care for pp
i get to write mine on the 08th of january
nice thats good
just gonna use the 2 months to train wooting technique
hopefully wooting goes well for you
Any of you osu people - do you guys use your tablet to write? If so which program do you use? Need recommendations
i draw stars in osu

Osu community helpful as always
I never tried using the tablet for anything than just osu and drawing so
give xournalpp a try
i use my graphics display for that sorry
and i just use photoshop lmao
how would other features affect gameplay?
you didn't understand what I was saying maybe I phrased it badly
sorry could u elaborate?
I was saying I'd like people to upload their profiles to wootbase even if for osu not much really matters in terms of setting for other games there are more factors so it would be nice if more people did that
I see my bad
at the cost of finger control
my finger control was pretty good on it tbh
if your reading is good enough it shouldnt matter tbh
if anything it lowers the chances of fingerlocking
(of course it will be worse before getting fully accustomed)
finger control is different from reading
balls

I'll give it a shot
thanks
give me a shotš«£
I'm guessing that would be illegal
huh?
what does reading have to do with finger control
pattern processing
u need to read the circles to click the circles
if the pattern is complex enough to be hard to execute physically then its usually also complex to read
most people getting into finger control because of tournaments lack the reading and not the tapping
I process finger control patterns just fine
itās difficult to tap
Thatās why itās called finger control
most alt maps require aim control and a lot of people struggle on those because of reading
every control skillset needs a higher amount of reading than average
game is just reading
honestly true, most people just get by with the bare minimum
buying a new keyboard isn't gonna make you fc image material dt if you can't even pass chika chika dt
nah if i buy a 360hz monitor and a wooting and a ctl472 i must be able to drop a 1k
is the ctl 472 the new hotness?
bamboo gang
ctl 480 is intuos right?
chair dif
As someone who owns both the only real differences are the pens, surface textures and the 400s having a surface tent upward
Most tablet GUIs donāt really make them play that much differently
Works very well thanks for the suggestion
Gyze what BPM is the metronome doing (only true OSU rhythm game gamers can see this one)

https://streamable.com/24d4kp thanks wooting
wooting speed trigger feel's like made for osu
Honestly that the only reason why I bought a wooting keyboard rather than anything else š
changed from mid to early Jan
Same batch but not for me š„²
That must be bc I took airfreight with basic delivery but yeah I want it so much

Soon the speed meta will be real
Same actually am playing DT mainly now
wtf so specific
For me it's DT and I try to go most on DTHR
EU-bliksem batch also proud š³š±
im eu bin!
Yooo lets goo
Oh that's why
I did order it early august
dang
that's like 17 days lol
not really that wide, comparing it to the initial release date for the first backers
yea
i feel a bit bad just having bought it for driving games + osu haha
my custom keyboard is too nice to stop using as a main :p
It's wide on account of your chosen last-mile shipping method being.... Inconsistent with delivery times
Oh true
That would make sense
Express to aus was expensive so I'll live with an extra week or two to save $50 š¤£
Ordered mine a week ago or so, shipping of my bach starts ar March
not the 60% i assume then?
Full size
I want the numpad
If i was using it only for osu specifically sure i would take the 60%
what do you use the numpad for?
In other games, general typing and alt codes, etc
For example my main language is Lihuanian, and in order for me to use the "@" i would have to change language. So instead of ever caring what language is on i just use alt+64
And using numbers is just way more convenient on a numpad
yea i guess ive only used keyboards for gaming so a keypad never has been a use for me
my main hand is the left and I normally play with the directional keys but the wait is too long for the full size x_x
a Tkl version could be handy for
being left handed player is pain
mrekk
us left handeds are just better what can I say
just become left handed, skill issue š
same, kinda
I tried becoming right handed when I first got a pen because I didn't want to relearn tapping and aiming with a different hand but then I switched to aiming with left hand and got better
wa
left hand secretly is goated for aim
(real)
i sure do like osu
fingers gobrrrrr
Brother I feel ya. I aimed with my right hand on mouse and tapped with my left, I'm left handed with a pen and tap with my right. I was around rank 200K when I switched and now I'm 35K lmao
I had to relearn everything
It was pretty difficult
yeah I went from 300k to now 75k
Always had been left handed and I'm just 39k
silly girl
I tried going tablet on my left hand but never got to the point I got better at it than using the mouse with right, so I stick to using my mouse.
I am left handed btw
Still for my use mouse and keyboard is fine, no way am I going to train myself enough to become better switching
use tablet right handed
tried adding jeff the killer as miss image, it did not go well š°
318
we need the osu bot in here
I could but I still have to learn to aim with a tablet and I just don't play enough anymore to make the switch
Which one
ask latina mom to teach u. they can throw with anything
OwO or bathbot
any updates on this?
no the project is still shelved until further notice
im be wooting my shi
i swear i seen you in my youtube recommended before
nah you havent
well if i get the wooting i will get top 1
any videos on this you can link?
or is this just going around on twitter?
u can look at the osu report thread
Itās pretty concrete though
they were banned b4 u even said that
fia was banned b4 u even said this idk what u mean "no one talking about a cheater"
I'm saying gigantic osu drama happens and no one here gives a shit lmao
we all here for the keeb
Keeeb
I'm a mania player, idc what goes on in standard
I'm a standard player, idc what goes on in standard š
idk its not like like they got far at all lmao nothing detrimental to the owc
not like china or russia ever get top 3ā ļø
I'd be mad if I lost to a team with a cheater on it
i guess if you were involved its not cool
but like
ive never watched a russia match
or a china match
they dont make it far obviouslyā ļø
Fia cheated I guess
on the chinese vs russia match
or something like that
imagine cheating in a tournament
imagine cheating in a circle game

yeah no there's huge repercussions china still sent a team to losers and eliminated others
actual big deal
cant undo all of it otherwise you replay too many games
I m very surprised by how not popular osu is in china
You would expect a f2p, low requirement rhythm that have all popular songs to be popular in china
they probably can't find a good way to cheat in it
owo bot please
wouldn't be surprised if it's outright banned in china
It's not
i think romania and russia play
they changed the challonge bracket
Fia carried in romania and russia so ofc they revert those
iirc fia didnt even play in the previous stages
o is that the case
what is there to talk about
what kinda discussion do u see happening from the fact fia is a cheater
idk seems like nothing is happening here no one talks about shit
theres not much to say besides thats pretty shitty
ngl i was one of the doubters
also not many ppl in this specific channel seem too keen on osu in general tbh
was pretty disappointed tbh
i bought a wooting for osu so ig im pretty keen on it
as well as the OWC
i bought a wooting for multiple things but no arrow keys or waiting an extra 2 months for the two he kinda is shitty
i hate to repeat it but tkl
i will buy a 2nd wooting board if my 60he comes in then a tkl is released
what other reasons?
besides osu ofc
i play at least 1 other game where mashing speed is relevant
however its an rpg with arrow key default controls and ijkl just doesnt feel the same
also new tech is just cool
true
I also be buying the full size one later
Wtf there are actually cracked players on this discord
facts
Crack
š
Is it the real luciano
š
awfully late reply but it took me like 4-5 months to get better at tablet than i was mouse as a fellow l*ft handed player
it honestly just depends on how bad you want to improve with tablet
u love the wooting
I play in bursts of a few weeks a few times a year, so yea it's not going to happen that way.
i love wooting
in truth dont we all love wooting
theres an easy way to do that. have fun every day and do stuff you enjoy. time will fly right by
rafis just called the 60he the best osu keyboard to date
wooting stocks šššš
Not that great a player but wanted to show around my level of aim using my mouse:
https://plik.root.gg/file/Lr7Usa7caZY7RHyc/IZEdoWs5irZmyYaH/2022-11-17 21-12-24.webm
Turns out after not playing for months and my second evening of playing I still managed to beat a top 20 score of mine and turn it in a top 7.
Guess without actually getting better I still have quite a bit of room to improve my score.
Also great no embed, guess I'll link the youtube one once it's done with its insanely show upload / processing
Only uploading at 6MB/s when any other random site allows me to get at least 100
I will add that in increasing it to a top 7 it also went from an A to a B but meh I don't care as long as it's above c
I think that's already happened with most top players switching to it
rafis just choked 1k xd
you joined in 2008??
Yea, back in highschool, really enjoyed Elite Beat Agents / the Ouendan games on my ds and when a classmate pointed out there was a pc version a year later I was hooked
I lost the screenshot but under the old score system (without pp) I once got to the top 600 or so just farming ranked plays.
A lot less players back then, that's for sure
wow
must have been before 2012 since thats when ppv1 got implemented
its cool that youre still playing
Slowly less and less over the years, just a burst of activity 2 - 3 times a year
It's pretty relaxing to turn your mind of from time to time.
I mean back then to be high in the ranking you had to play like every ranked map
Granted there where way less maps back then
Yes, exactly. Never got to play every map but it was the gist of it
Still if you were playing online top 5k players were just the average not a total newbie
I never claimed I was good.
ur so good bro

i cant even read that skin
it's an interesting skins that for sure
What is up wooting fam
I thought it wouldn't be bad but then I looked at it
That skin is uuh
Interesting
300s being visible, slider ends are identical to hitcircles. mega cursed
osu
are you real
hvicks skin was super cursed but he made do to be fair
play offline
play sotark maps
offline
click the squares
no jordan is fake..
which one
his dt skin
his hr skin was fine but that flower skin he used for dt was god awful
well tbf it was very normal back then
not really, by 2016 everyone had moved onto skins which would be considered pretty normal today
FUCKING HELL I DID IT

think by around 2016 the most popular skins was yugen
Forums Ā» osu! Ā» Skinning Ā» Completed Skins Ā» YUGEN [ALL MODES] [HD/SD]
this one
think yugen was the first skin i tried that didnt have slider ends
Few things I'd like to point out. First, I stopped showing off all ranking letters. It's a hassle to get some of them and delays things too much. Secondly, I normally add a transition between the pause and fail screens, however I chose not to this time due to the song effects at the fail screen. The transitions will be back after this one don't ...
yugen is what most people start playing with
think it had only been released nearly a year or so at around that time
but yeah skins like hvicks wernt that normal at that point
Yea some half made skin of mine, never bothered to finish it.
I personally like it quite a lot
Slider ends sure, could change that, never thought about it but it is something I got used to at this point.
As for the visible 300's I personally like to have them, but deliberately made the 100 and 50 very distinct in terms of shape / color to really not be problematic.
As for the slider end they are distinct as in either it includes a number or it does not
But It's not an optimized competitive skin, that's for sure
I cant wait to try my kb on stepmania
why stepmania?
because I play stepmania
osu
stepmania itself is quite outdated compared to ports of it like etterna
idk why you'd play stepmania itself when there's many great features that have been added in etterna
I'd assume the theme you use is outdated and not being maintained
not really
scwh?
I use Digital Dance which is based on Simply Love, which is the one mostly all the ITG players use on their arcades
very real
ah
and stepmania is the (probably only reason) why I pre ordered the 60he xd
are you after the rapid trigger?
yeah
its not the most useful for vsrg type games imo
overall it's a great board
just not because of rapid trigger
yeah, either way, my current kb is a corsair k60 that I have been using since 2014
so why not try that one
yea definitely a upgrade from that lol
I will say etterna did get a new theme called rebirth, should try it out again when you can
its a massive upgrade visually from tildeath
ye why not, I could check it out

Rohan immediately starting working on 3d modelling of a new project that a certain community will be very happy about? osu keypad in early development? š
Powered by Restream https://restream.io
Hit us with your questions, requests or just say hi.

i mean they've said that they attempted to create a keypad already
i wouldn't put it past them to try again
The price for the end user would likely be too high
i would pay 100$ if it meant i could get it faster for the game i want lmao
You wouldn't
i would
You wouldn't get it faster
i mean not as many people would want a keypad so I assume it would be faster
but im probably wrong
you dont gotta tell me
If not many people want it they won't make it in the first place
yea ur right and i dont see a point for it now everyone that wanted it for osu or osu mania has already bought the 60% most likely
including me
need that without mitty
S = above 95% acc
also
it's because of the long note spam
still 10 stars is quite high in mania right?
damn s ranks being above 95% instead of you losing it by missing makes me wanna play mania lmao
sounds more rhythm friendly lmao
but std has alot of aim to it so it makes sense
Sexually transmitted disease?
yes

hi
hello
in lazer standard ranking is also acc based
lazer is bad
not switching to it until im forced lmao
slider acc shouldnt be a thing
imo it should be optional per map, set by the mapper
bc most of the time it makes sense
only a problem when it's used somewhere where rhythm is kinda vague
it doesnāt make sense to me tbh because theres already so many ways to drop acc on a slider
ĀÆ_(ć)_/ĀÆ

i suck at sliders especially tech bs
but the idea of it being a skill isnt weird, playing lazer feels good
have you played lazer recently
skill issue?
osu! Ā» player info Ā» chocomint
clearly
bro isnt even #1
slider acc sounds like a cool skill since there are some maps already making fun slider gimmicks
That's fast
slider acc was supposed to be a thing from the start
idk i'm used to it now since i've played a lot of tournaments
itās probably just something i have to get used to but damn itās annoying because thereās already ways to drop acc/combo on sliders
are u sure? I don't think the original ds game had slider acc
altho I might be wrong since I never played that
honestly i'm not sure why either
i think ppy has said it was supposed to be there in the beginning as well
but i don't remember why it wasn't implemented
i'm mistaken
